- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcasted twenty five whist sucking fun and
- 0:08Speaker 1: they all wear the whist so, yeah, but what did
- 0:12Speaker 1: you expect It's a podcast called twenty five whistles. I'm rich,
- 0:20Speaker 1: let's start the show. Made a lot of money last night,
- 0:24Speaker 1: a lot of money. It was awesome. I had two
- 0:27Speaker 1: futures and I bet it on it again, and I
- 0:29Speaker 1: bet the stupid bet where it's like if all the
- 0:31Speaker 1: Jersey numbers add up to over one sixty, those are
- 0:34Speaker 1: so dumb you didn't take one of those. Yeah, I
- 0:37Speaker 1: did see that. And then Eddie betty if it hits
- 0:41Speaker 1: a goal post. It was a plust four fifty. I'm like,
- 0:44Speaker 1: why not put a dollar on that it hits the
- 0:46Speaker 1: then goal pros. I took the octopus bet. Did you did?
- 0:51Speaker 1: I never even heard of that. I mean, either, what
- 0:53Speaker 1: does that mean? Six and two eight? Damn it tell
- 0:56Speaker 1: the what you can score? Eight? So would that payoff
- 1:00Speaker 1: was plus? I put a dollar on its. Yeah, Eddie
- 1:04Speaker 1: sent me that hit the goal post after and the
- 1:06Speaker 1: chief missed that field goal, and I just doing the
- 1:08Speaker 1: photoshop or I'd redo it. It looks like I won,
- 1:10Speaker 1: Like I was like looking at us. I bet bucks.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I didn't. I just don't let it because I was
- 1:20Speaker 1: just kidding on that one. But I did hit my
- 1:22Speaker 1: two futures. I did hit. It was. It was a
- 1:25Speaker 1: good night. It was the game had already been determined,
- 1:28Speaker 1: so I knew it was gonna happen. I told what
- 1:30Speaker 1: was gonna happen. We had, We had our parlay and
- 1:32Speaker 1: drive Kings, It's all three. You know, Kelsey scored touchdown
- 1:36Speaker 1: early and that's the hardest one to get a specific
- 1:39Speaker 1: player to score touchdown. And the over was like fifty
- 1:42Speaker 1: and a half, but they were scoring so many points early,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you knew that was gonna And then it was just
- 1:47Speaker 1: the Chiefs when at plus one and a half and
- 1:50Speaker 1: they did so. Overall, really good game, right, so I
- 1:55Speaker 1: mean and and there were stories Mahomes ankle, uh Jalen Hurts,
- 2:02Speaker 1: setting records rushing for It was just a great game,
- 2:05Speaker 1: two best teams. It really wasn't dominated by injured players,
- 2:09Speaker 1: which is great too, because yeah, Mahomes had to hurt ankle,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but when he was after half time, you look pretty good.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Didn't look like anything was hurting. Like I said, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: would fake it to hey, I thought about that the
- 2:21Speaker 1: entire time I heard your voice in my head going,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I would fake that. He'll always be a hero, more
- 2:26Speaker 1: so than just wanting two super Bowls the time the
- 2:28Speaker 1: ankle game. Let's talk about the holding penalty at the end, though,
- 2:31Speaker 1: which is defensive holding, Eddie. I'll say nothing, but I
- 2:34Speaker 1: will go to you your thoughts on him, refresh my memory. Well,
- 2:37Speaker 1: it's the penalty that shaped the whole game at the end.
- 2:40Speaker 1: What happened when he held the receiver? Yeah, Kevin, would
- 2:44Speaker 1: you like Eddie, did you watch that? It literally is
- 2:47Speaker 1: the biggest story in the game night It's yes, I
- 2:50Speaker 1: think I think the turnover touchdown was the biggest story
- 2:53Speaker 1: because Mike, did you see the penalty? It's it's what
- 2:58Speaker 1: shaped the whole game. Everybody's talking about it. It It was
- 3:00Speaker 1: they would have just kicked a fill goal and then
- 3:03Speaker 1: Philadelphia would have had the ball with a minute and
- 3:05Speaker 1: a half left, two minutes, but it was third down.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But because he held his jersey and they threw the
- 3:10Speaker 1: the defensive holding penalty, they got a first down. They
- 3:13Speaker 1: went and slid down and then ran the clock out.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I mean, that was it? So Kevin, your thoughts on
- 3:18Speaker 1: the penalty. I hate the timing of it, like everybody else.
- 3:22Speaker 1: There was a little tug. Yes, he even said that
- 3:24Speaker 1: after the game. But the timing of it is just
- 3:26Speaker 1: awful because now instead of the great game, most people
- 3:29Speaker 1: were talking about this holding call except for Eddie. I
- 3:32Speaker 1: guess are you sure you watched I watched it. I
- 3:36Speaker 1: just thought like, okay, dude, when you don't have a
- 3:39Speaker 1: don't have skin in the game or just kind of
- 3:41Speaker 1: any kind of team, you kind of just watching me
- 3:42Speaker 1: like a massive of the game though. I was just
- 3:47Speaker 1: really wanted to see the Eagles get the ball back,
- 3:48Speaker 1: just for as a fan, as a football fan. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: didn't because I don't want to lose the money. But
- 3:54Speaker 1: I think that it was because at first you hear
- 4:00Speaker 1: Panthers tied end Greg Olson go, I don't know if
- 4:03Speaker 1: I like that, and then you hear the ref in
- 4:06Speaker 1: the booth, Pierre, Who's like, it was definitely a hold,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and so I at first we were looking at a
- 4:11Speaker 1: different part of the play. We look at the very
- 4:13Speaker 1: beginning when he came off. He right when he made
- 4:15Speaker 1: his cut, he grabs the back of his jersey with
- 4:18Speaker 1: his right hand and and literally holds it, and it
- 4:20Speaker 1: does affect the route. But I think the issue if
- 4:23Speaker 1: that play would have been called anywhere else, would have
- 4:24Speaker 1: been a first shure hole. But it was so late
- 4:26Speaker 1: in the game. But I don't it's been consistent because
- 4:29Speaker 1: that late hit penalty on ma Homes remember that on
- 4:33Speaker 1: the sideline or maybe Burrow it was in that that
- 4:36Speaker 1: game there was a late hit penalty and people were like,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you called it, and that if you're gonna call real penalty,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you gotta be consistent. They were because that was a
- 4:43Speaker 1: penalty two where they said, oh, I don't like the
- 4:45Speaker 1: timing of it, but you know, he did hit him.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It was hit. It was a late hit and they
- 4:50Speaker 1: could have not called it because it wasn't just ugly.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Remember then after the game, the guys like, what did
- 4:54Speaker 1: you hit the quarterback late? So it was remember the
- 4:58Speaker 1: commodoresme Commodores. Remember the Commander's game. I think they were
- 5:02Speaker 1: playing the Giants or the Jets, and there was a
- 5:04Speaker 1: play that wasn't called at the end. It's like a
- 5:07Speaker 1: past interference or something, and that ref the people just
- 5:10Speaker 1: killing the ref. There was like week fourteen or fifteen.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I don't remember it exactly either, but I think as
- 5:16Speaker 1: a ref you just you just don't want anything to happen.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You just want to have you do. You don't want
- 5:21Speaker 1: to commit penalty. You don't have to call penalties, but
- 5:23Speaker 1: if they do happen, you have to call it. And
- 5:24Speaker 1: that was a holding. I put it on my Instagram
- 5:27Speaker 1: story and rewounded a few times where right when the
- 5:29Speaker 1: right when he cuts, you see him grab the back
- 5:30Speaker 1: of his jersey. It was probably a couple of times
- 5:34Speaker 1: that he grabbed the jersey just once once once before
- 5:37Speaker 1: the turn, and then after the Turney grabbed or right
- 5:39Speaker 1: before the catching put his hand on him. But I
- 5:41Speaker 1: would have called that, And now you're an expert saying
- 5:44Speaker 1: I didn't think that was pivotal because the call was right,
- 5:46Speaker 1: Like I didn't even think twice about that. It's pivotal
- 5:49Speaker 1: because they shut the game down, base, everybody on Twitter exploded,
- 5:52Speaker 1: everybody after the game. I had to go to the bathroom.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So they didn't review it. You can't review that call,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and then there're a booth review on that not a
- 6:00Speaker 1: defensive holding. I don't know what you get exactly, So
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm I'm okay with it, especially because I won. I'm
- 6:08Speaker 1: a little bias, but I think if you're they have
- 6:10Speaker 1: been consistent calling the calls and not just letting go
- 6:13Speaker 1: because it's the end of the game and during the playoffs,
- 6:15Speaker 1: that's been the consistent thing. They call the calls if
- 6:18Speaker 1: they need to call them, and if I'm a ref,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm probably doing that. I hate it. I get it,
- 6:24Speaker 1: but I hate it. Yeah. I didn't like how it
- 6:26Speaker 1: didn't it either, because I think they still would have
- 6:28Speaker 1: won the game. But You're right, they had a shot.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't want to lose the money though, either, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: I'm very I mean it want me money too, so
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm not mad about that. Yeah. So, uh, biggest takeaway
- 6:37Speaker 1: from the game last night can be anything at already.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I think that just the turf management, Like what on earth,
- 6:42Speaker 1: Everyone's sliding around. It's like a wet like a rain game.
- 6:45Speaker 1: All that paint, even the Eagles kicker on the kickoff,
- 6:48Speaker 1: like almost felt like that is not good. I mean
- 6:51Speaker 1: that's because they even paint the green part of the grass.
- 6:53Speaker 1: They've been growing that grass for two years for this game,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and they painted it all so it looked consistent, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: they painted all the things that need to be paying it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: That's double the paint, and it was like they were
- 7:03Speaker 1: playing in the mud. You know, we would have teams
- 7:06Speaker 1: we play in high school, they would turn the water
- 7:08Speaker 1: on in their field the night before and try to
- 7:09Speaker 1: slop the filled up because we were a really fast team,
- 7:11Speaker 1: so they try to slow us down by slopping the
- 7:13Speaker 1: field up a little. And so it almost looked like like,
- 7:17Speaker 1: if that were to happen without it being super obvious,
- 7:20Speaker 1: that's what you would do. And they were saying that
- 7:21Speaker 1: the the Chiefs played the Cardinals earlier in the season
- 7:24Speaker 1: and they had that same problem, so they kind of
- 7:26Speaker 1: learned from it because if you look, the Eagles were
- 7:29Speaker 1: changing their cleats left and right, but the Chiefs really
- 7:31Speaker 1: weren't because they kind of knew what they were dealing with. Interesting,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but that's just crazy, crazy fact that you don't even
- 7:36Speaker 1: think about. Some say the game was already. I think
- 7:40Speaker 1: it's rigged. Kevin Jalen Hurts, he was awesome. He was
- 7:47Speaker 1: the best player on that field last night. Obviously, that
- 7:50Speaker 1: one huge, crucial fumble was big, but outside of that,
- 7:53Speaker 1: you know him and the homes going back and forth.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Hurt was the best player in that field and I'm
- 7:57Speaker 1: it sucks that he didn't win that game, but that
- 7:59Speaker 1: guy is a real deal. I don't think he's better
- 8:01Speaker 1: than my Homes. No, do you say best player because
- 8:03Speaker 1: he wasn't injured just last night. I'm saying, but even
- 8:06Speaker 1: then he did look really good. But my Homes also
- 8:10Speaker 1: he what had three touchdowns some some stat like not
- 8:13Speaker 1: two yards, but they didn't have the ball that often.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That was it was like the longest drive in the
- 8:16Speaker 1: history of the Super Bowl last night, like seventy four plays,
- 8:20Speaker 1: three and a half quarters, the longest drive ever. It's like, dang,
- 8:23Speaker 1: the game started and now, yeah, so, but I don't
- 8:27Speaker 1: know that I would say Jalen Hurts. Was you say
- 8:29Speaker 1: he's better than Patrick Mohomes last night? I was saying overall,
- 8:32Speaker 1: he was the best player on the field that I
- 8:34Speaker 1: thought last night, defense, offense, everything. Mahomes was unbelievable too.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Hurts had more opportunities. Maybe that's what it is, Hurts
- 8:42Speaker 1: fum I mean that. I know that was huge, But
- 8:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you that holding call. Let me say
- 8:45Speaker 1: this because everybody wants to look at the call the
- 8:47Speaker 1: end of the game, that play where the receiver catches
- 8:51Speaker 1: it turns gets hit and they called it an incomplete pass.
- 8:55Speaker 1: He caught that ball like no doubt about it. So
- 8:59Speaker 1: I feel like they got a free win there because
- 9:00Speaker 1: that was a touchdown. The Chief's picked it up, scooped
- 9:03Speaker 1: and ran it back. He was making that football move.
- 9:06Speaker 1: He he for sure caught it. I was starting to
- 9:08Speaker 1: do even that rule is so blurry, you know, like
- 9:12Speaker 1: right a football position is. They got pretty fortunate there.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I thought they got fortunate on one of those go
- 9:19Speaker 1: to tied end catches too, that they gave him where
- 9:22Speaker 1: it looked like he was probabling a little bit in
- 9:24Speaker 1: his helmet. So it went a lot of ways. But
- 9:27Speaker 1: I'm very biased because I want a lot of money,
- 9:28Speaker 1: so it's hard to me. Not to me. I'm just
- 9:29Speaker 1: gonna be honest with you. I can't really, it's hard,
- 9:32Speaker 1: clo No. But I again, I picked him for the season.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I doubled down on it, and the game is already determined,
- 9:41Speaker 1: so I won parlay. Draft King is just good. God,
- 9:46Speaker 1: did you see the script or what? Did you like? Know?
- 9:48Speaker 1: The script thing is not real, guys. The game's already
- 9:50Speaker 1: determined them. But the spy the script thing was worry
- 9:54Speaker 1: about that part of it. I thought Stapleton was awesome, great.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I thought Rihanna was really good. I thought when people
- 10:02Speaker 1: were hitting me up going she sucked. I wanted her
- 10:04Speaker 1: to do a full dance number. She m a dance.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, can't you tell like she's pregnant. I'm
- 10:07Speaker 1: not gonna say that outardly on Twitter because I'm not
- 10:09Speaker 1: quite sure, but I'm like, I think she's pregnant. And no,
- 10:14Speaker 1: we wanted more, what we deserve more? What do you deserve?
- 10:18Speaker 1: Don't do crap, complain your team need to make it.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Shut up. You shall only complain if your team made
- 10:23Speaker 1: it right, like you can only complain about politicians if
- 10:26Speaker 1: you voted. Um. I thought that Staplet was awesome. Rihanna
- 10:30Speaker 1: was awesome. I thought the game was great, which sometimes
- 10:33Speaker 1: it's a real schnoozer. Watched it by myself, my wife
- 10:36Speaker 1: some of the parts UM didn't over eat. Oh good,
- 10:40Speaker 1: good for you. And I had to work out today.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I text Eddie. I was like, do you want to
- 10:42Speaker 1: work out today? And he's like, meeting pizza right now.
- 10:46Speaker 1: We'll never actually answered, he just said I'm meeting pizza
- 10:49Speaker 1: right now. I thought that Terry Bradshaw was a little
- 10:53Speaker 1: fat shaming of Andy Reid, like multiple times in a
- 10:56Speaker 1: row on that stand. He was like, why hello here,
- 10:58Speaker 1: fat boy, Hey fat hey, fat boy. I'm like, dude, chilling,
- 11:06Speaker 1: chill out, bro. I had rewinded to make sure he
- 11:08Speaker 1: said wat all over here? Yeah, it's like, why are
- 11:11Speaker 1: you fat shaming? Andy Reid? And I just want a
- 11:13Speaker 1: super Bowl And all of a sudden he's been in
- 11:14Speaker 1: his room crying because he did fat again. I did
- 11:19Speaker 1: not stay and watch the show, the cooking show after
- 11:21Speaker 1: did you guys know the when they were promoted? I
- 11:24Speaker 1: thought it looked actually terrible. Gordon ramsay, yeah, I'm not
- 11:27Speaker 1: like I'm not watching, not stick around for that. What
- 11:29Speaker 1: about the commercial that got it? It got me big time? Theoveryone.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I was like, Amazon, wait what? So luckily it was
- 11:38Speaker 1: quick because don't have time to get to my remote.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Oh I did? That? Was? Oh you did? I went
- 11:42Speaker 1: back onto my home screen of my TV. I was like,
- 11:44Speaker 1: what's going on? I thought it was a dog that
- 11:46Speaker 1: did it. We were freaking out. I was like, wait
- 11:47Speaker 1: the remotes over here? How did the dog do? Then
- 11:49Speaker 1: that's a good one. I go on Twitter. I'm like, oh,
- 11:51Speaker 1: we got always risky to put a commercials into the
- 11:54Speaker 1: Super Bowl too. I'm not sure if you really get
- 11:55Speaker 1: to choose that or not. But it's if you go
- 11:58Speaker 1: into the game's not close that sucks. Yeah. Um, I
- 12:02Speaker 1: did bet on the first play not being a first down,
- 12:06Speaker 1: like minus four fifty one, like thirty bucks. Yeah, bones,
- 12:09Speaker 1: text me immediately, I want to know. I bet Travis
- 12:13Speaker 1: Kelsey over six and a half catches and he had six.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Oh man, I had Boston Scott over ten yards he
- 12:22Speaker 1: had eight. But overall, I think I won like eight
- 12:30Speaker 1: thousand dollars last night. That's amazing. Good for you all
- 12:34Speaker 1: in from the preseason and those those preseason bets won
- 12:38Speaker 1: me a good amount of money, so that was cool.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I liked it. And in Arkansas last night before it
- 12:43Speaker 1: was terrible and I was sick, sick about it. That's
- 12:46Speaker 1: God looking after you, sick about it. And so I
- 12:49Speaker 1: got this one. But that's the deal. Two thumbs up overall,
- 12:53Speaker 1: two thumbs up for sure. We are now obviously football
- 12:57Speaker 1: is over. We'll still keep up with football when it's
- 12:59Speaker 1: up as a story, but it won't be every week.
- 13:01Speaker 1: But we have signed a new six week deal with
- 13:03Speaker 1: Draft Kings to go through March madness. So come on,
- 13:09Speaker 1: but it's not We're talking football and we all wear
- 13:12Speaker 1: a whistle, so we have Brandon. He cut it again
- 13:16Speaker 1: and only replaced basketball with basketball. Let's see how we
- 13:19Speaker 1: like it, because it's not just a basketball show. But
- 13:21Speaker 1: let's just hear it. Let's hear the basketball version. This
- 13:27Speaker 1: is a podcast called twenty five whist Let's sucking Basketball
- 13:32Speaker 1: and they all wear a whist, so yes, I like that?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Or play the gap version. This is a poast called
- 13:45Speaker 1: twenty five whist Let's sucking farts? O, yes, we all
- 13:51Speaker 1: ye sports. Let's do it again? Okay, Okay, now that
- 13:53Speaker 1: we know that again, my scared you all over? Alright,
- 13:55Speaker 1: go ahead, this is a potchat, and which one do
- 14:06Speaker 1: you want to do? Sports? I like yelling sports, or
- 14:08Speaker 1: we could do it each time and just yell something
- 14:10Speaker 1: we like collectively, Like what do you think I like yelling? Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 1: So we're bringing onto the show for the next six weeks.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Colman Crawley, the kid who's driving all around the country
- 14:18Speaker 1: going to all the basketball games. So I've hired him
- 14:20Speaker 1: to be part of the show and he's gonna come
- 14:21Speaker 1: on and talk about that. And Caitlin's grandpa at eighties
- 14:24Speaker 1: five years old. I went and interviewed him at his
- 14:27Speaker 1: high school basketball. This is a one time deal with him.
- 14:31Speaker 1: This is the one time. So I hope you guys
- 14:34Speaker 1: more smiles and frowns on the Super Bowl. We want
- 14:36Speaker 1: our parlay. It was a great game last night. Thank
- 14:38Speaker 1: you for letting us. We were gonna retire, but they
- 14:40Speaker 1: gave us some money to do six more episodes, six
- 14:42Speaker 1: more weeks, which probably mean the more than six episodes,
- 14:45Speaker 1: you know me. But then after that we'll hit our
- 14:47Speaker 1: our retirement streak. Thank you, and let's do this. You
- 14:52Speaker 1: want to bring on the newest member of the show.
- 14:54Speaker 1: We met him in an interview and I've never actually
- 14:56Speaker 1: seen his body in real life. I'm not sure he's
- 14:58Speaker 1: actually a real human being except for the Internet. But
- 15:01Speaker 1: here he is. Colman Crawley, thank you, Thank you very
- 15:05Speaker 1: much for having me. Coleman, welcome to the show after this.
- 15:07Speaker 1: You're not a guest anymore, like you're just part of
- 15:09Speaker 1: the show. But this is recording in progress, recording in progress,
- 15:12Speaker 1: just so you know, yeah, yeah, Calman, full disclosure, recording
- 15:15Speaker 1: the progress, got it, got it? Uh so, Coleman. Just
- 15:20Speaker 1: as we're moving from football to basketball. You know, we
- 15:23Speaker 1: talked about your story where you're driving all over the
- 15:25Speaker 1: country watching a lot of these mid majors play looking
- 15:27Speaker 1: for the next Cinderella. Who do you think right now
- 15:29Speaker 1: the best four teams in college basketball? Right If you
- 15:31Speaker 1: had to put them up right now, you bet money
- 15:33Speaker 1: this is the final four. So I feel like I've
- 15:35Speaker 1: seen the best team in person. Last Sunday, I went
- 15:37Speaker 1: and watch Houston take on Temple on the road, and
- 15:41Speaker 1: I think Houston is the best team in the country.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I do think playing in the American and not seeing
- 15:46Speaker 1: UM Power six, you know, Elite eight or better type
- 15:50Speaker 1: competition in their conference does hurt them just a little bit.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But man Kelvin Sampson and what he's done at Houston
- 15:58Speaker 1: has been incredible. They focused so watch on the defensive
- 16:01Speaker 1: end and when they're turning you over getting in transition, Wow,
- 16:04Speaker 1: are they very difficult per due They just lost on Sunday,
- 16:08Speaker 1: but I still think they're probably one of the best
- 16:10Speaker 1: four teams in the country. I'm exact, idiot, seven ft four,
- 16:13Speaker 1: How do you guard that? You can't teach that size. Alabama,
- 16:18Speaker 1: although I think their style um is inconsistent because they
- 16:22Speaker 1: rely so much on the three ball, and I don't
- 16:24Speaker 1: think it's a style that's gonna win a national championship.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I do think they are one of the four best teams,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and when they're hitting from the outside, they could be
- 16:31Speaker 1: the best team in the country. And then you see
- 16:33Speaker 1: l A is another team that I like their balance
- 16:36Speaker 1: that I think those are the top four, but I
- 16:38Speaker 1: think we're gonna have a chaotic tournament where the top
- 16:40Speaker 1: four aren't, you know, making it to the final four
- 16:43Speaker 1: winning the title. Yeah, and it's whoever gets put in
- 16:45Speaker 1: you know what region as well, but just a couple
- 16:48Speaker 1: of those like you watched Houston play. Do not feel
- 16:50Speaker 1: like they're two guards centric, do you? Because at times
- 16:52Speaker 1: you know it's three and four you know, guard wings.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Do you feel like that's gonna be able to to
- 16:59Speaker 1: hold up the tournament? I think they're inside guys are
- 17:03Speaker 1: good enough, Reggie Cheney, Jowe, while Roberts I think they're
- 17:07Speaker 1: good enough to complement their guard shed Sasser. And then
- 17:11Speaker 1: they've got a freshman in Jariss Walker. That gosh, freshman
- 17:15Speaker 1: shouldn't be built that way. I mean, holy cow, he's
- 17:17Speaker 1: got an NBA ready body, looks about like Zoon Williamson.
- 17:21Speaker 1: May not be able to jump quite like him, but
- 17:23Speaker 1: I think he can be physical enough. Although he does
- 17:25Speaker 1: float out to the perimeter, that he can help them
- 17:28Speaker 1: inside as well at times on boards or defensively, that
- 17:31Speaker 1: I think their inside presence is good enough where they
- 17:33Speaker 1: have some balance with Alabama. Just looking at their shot
- 17:36Speaker 1: charts after the game, I mean, you're right, they shoot
- 17:38Speaker 1: three or they shoot it right by the goal. I
- 17:40Speaker 1: mean rarely are you gonna see any sort of midrange
- 17:43Speaker 1: jumper from a Natotes team. And that's how they've always
- 17:46Speaker 1: done it. And you're right, if they're on, they are
- 17:49Speaker 1: big trouble. However, they lost big time to Oklahoma earlier
- 17:51Speaker 1: this year, and Oklahoma is a slow um not completely
- 17:57Speaker 1: up to where they're going to be athletically because they
- 17:59Speaker 1: have new coach over there recruiting kind of a different
- 18:01Speaker 1: system now. But if Alabama is but shooting threes and
- 18:06Speaker 1: you played ball obviously, is it harder to shoot three
- 18:09Speaker 1: is in an away gym? Um? I would say so yes.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I mean you're just not as familiar as you are
- 18:15Speaker 1: in your home gym that you're practicing every day. Why
- 18:17Speaker 1: do I second both then home anyway? Because you feel
- 18:21Speaker 1: like you would be able to play better than any
- 18:24Speaker 1: some gym you know, But I'm not. But Alabama You're right.
- 18:27Speaker 1: They're very athletic, They've got freshmen that are awesome, and
- 18:30Speaker 1: if they are shooting from three like they're so lethal, absolutely, Um,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you know they have that potential to run anyone in
- 18:41Speaker 1: the country out of the gym if they're shooting well
- 18:43Speaker 1: from three, if they have a great three point shooting night.
- 18:46Speaker 1: But I think that style of play where you essentially
- 18:49Speaker 1: eliminate the mid range game just creates inconsistency and we
- 18:53Speaker 1: see a loss like they had at home to Oklahoma
- 18:55Speaker 1: two years before. They did the exact same thing, lost
- 18:59Speaker 1: Oklahoma when they were playing some of the best basketball
- 19:01Speaker 1: in the country. We saw them bowed. I think in
- 19:04Speaker 1: the Sweet sixteen that year. I could see something similar
- 19:07Speaker 1: with this team where they're a trendy pick. But I
- 19:10Speaker 1: think relying on just threes or attacking the rim um
- 19:14Speaker 1: create some inconsistency where I I don't trust them to
- 19:17Speaker 1: win sixth straight when we get to late March. The
- 19:20Speaker 1: Duke Virginia game was interesting. Have a friend is a
- 19:22Speaker 1: Duke fan. I'm not a Duke fan in anyway whatsoever, um,
- 19:25Speaker 1: but he's was sending screenshots of like the clock with
- 19:27Speaker 1: point oh two seconds left and foul and they fouled
- 19:31Speaker 1: after what happened because I know Duke ended up losing
- 19:33Speaker 1: it over time. What happened in that game that was
- 19:36Speaker 1: so controversial, Well, you know, in the a c C
- 19:40Speaker 1: released a statement afterwards basically saying, hey, we're sorry, the
- 19:44Speaker 1: refs got it wrong. There was contact in the shot
- 19:47Speaker 1: being released before the clock struck zero. But for whatever
- 19:51Speaker 1: reason in that review, maybe it was because they were
- 19:54Speaker 1: playing at Virginia, the refs felt scared to make that call.
- 19:57Speaker 1: They decided to send it into overtime. For Jenny able
- 20:00Speaker 1: to win that one. In overtime, you would assume Kyle
- 20:03Speaker 1: would be able to hit one of those two and
- 20:05Speaker 1: Duke would have got out of there with a big
- 20:07Speaker 1: time road win. I feel bad for him, but you
- 20:10Speaker 1: feel like Duke gets those calls all the time. Yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 1: that's right, Duke. That's how we feel all the time.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Every guy says every other team, that's how we feel
- 20:21Speaker 1: all the time. Biggest biggest impact freshman this year so far?
- 20:25Speaker 1: Who I mean we just talked about Bama. I would
- 20:29Speaker 1: maybe have to say Brandon Miller. Wow, he's been awesome. Um,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you know, at one point, I don't know what he's
- 20:35Speaker 1: averaging now, but he was averaging about eighteen and a
- 20:37Speaker 1: half and eight and a half boards per game. He's
- 20:39Speaker 1: been exceptional. I think he's been the best so far.
- 20:42Speaker 1: We just mentioned Kyle as well, Kyle Filipowski who had
- 20:45Speaker 1: that controversial no call um at the end of the
- 20:48Speaker 1: game for Duke. But Goss seven footer that moves really
- 20:52Speaker 1: well and can shoot on occasion from the perimeter, is
- 20:54Speaker 1: another guy that could contend for that. A couple others
- 20:57Speaker 1: Conte Georgia Baylor, Anthony Black Arekin saw a Grady Dick
- 21:01Speaker 1: at Kansas, and then Jared's Walker who had mentioned he's
- 21:04Speaker 1: really coming on strong at Houston. I watch these freshmen.
- 21:07Speaker 1: He mentions the freshman from Bama who they keep calling next,
- 21:10Speaker 1: Kevin Durant. But it's like Pumpy breaks a little bit
- 21:12Speaker 1: like a bun a minute, Like it's hard, but because
- 21:15Speaker 1: you don't hear anybody go the next Lebron right, But
- 21:19Speaker 1: but that, well, you're you're not respecting Kevin Durant then,
- 21:22Speaker 1: because Kevin Durant is like almost right there, Like Kevin
- 21:25Speaker 1: was one of the best fifteen players ever in my
- 21:28Speaker 1: in my opinion, and they're like he is the next
- 21:30Speaker 1: k I'm like slow down to a little bit on
- 21:33Speaker 1: comparing him to Katie. But when you have these freshmen
- 21:35Speaker 1: like and Anthony black or who's a six six point
- 21:39Speaker 1: guard and really had to develop offensively over the year,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and they're coming and they're going so quick, and Eddie,
- 21:46Speaker 1: maybe you feel weird about this too. It's hardly gonna
- 21:48Speaker 1: look at them as like eighteen year olds. Oh yeah,
- 21:49Speaker 1: and now they also got a million bucks in their pockets. No, man,
- 21:51Speaker 1: it makes us feel like crap. Yeah, I'm like, you're eighteen,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you're going to class, you got a million bucks, and
- 21:58Speaker 1: you're out just feeling old and calm in front of
- 22:01Speaker 1: twenty people playing basketball. But I guess you're just good
- 22:04Speaker 1: at it your whole life. Maybe it's easier. And Grady
- 22:07Speaker 1: Dick you talked about him, he doesn't look like he's
- 22:09Speaker 1: what nine like, you know, he looks older and it's
- 22:12Speaker 1: funny like he's got a face of an older dude.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So I don't even think of him as a nineteen
- 22:16Speaker 1: year old guy. How many points you average of game?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Like sixteen my junior year, thirteen my senior year. Why
- 22:23Speaker 1: less I started shutting to shut you down. They were
- 22:25Speaker 1: like figured him out, So we were better. We started
- 22:28Speaker 1: destroying everybody. So I went from playing my junior year
- 22:31Speaker 1: like twenty eight minutes a game to twenty um, so
- 22:35Speaker 1: played less minutes, didn't have as many close games, so
- 22:38Speaker 1: you had to suffer because you guys got better. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: we played a lot of close games. My junior year
- 22:43Speaker 1: they had lost a lot of seniors from the year before,
- 22:46Speaker 1: and then my senior year we were blowing everybody out.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Sometimes we'd only played the first quarter. Did you guys
- 22:52Speaker 1: want to say championship? No? No, that's a tough topic
- 22:56Speaker 1: to bring. Number one got beat in the quarters. Wait,
- 23:00Speaker 1: that's the house supposed to work. Hold on, hold on,
- 23:02Speaker 1: you're right one and you got beat in the quarters
- 23:04Speaker 1: by who yep? By Tuttle? And what happened in that game?
- 23:08Speaker 1: Do you get robbed somehow? No? We got off to
- 23:11Speaker 1: a twenty four and oh star. We lost to Stillwell
- 23:14Speaker 1: in the regional final one three straight to get to
- 23:16Speaker 1: the state tournament. Um. The Stillwell coach and the Tuttle
- 23:20Speaker 1: coach exchange film. Still, what was having to play the
- 23:22Speaker 1: Mannix and Harra Tuttle was playing us and Tuttle knew
- 23:27Speaker 1: every single play we were calling right when we yelled out,
- 23:31Speaker 1: they know exactly where we were going. Absolute heck out
- 23:35Speaker 1: of us. Are you're not supposed to do that? No,
- 23:37Speaker 1: they absolutely can do that. They just knew everything we
- 23:41Speaker 1: were gonna run. They shot the heck out of it.
- 23:43Speaker 1: We zoned them, got beat home early. Most three's you
- 23:46Speaker 1: ever hit in the game? Uh? Nine, I think, wow,
- 23:52Speaker 1: after like four, I've been kicking in the balls that
- 23:54Speaker 1: It was seven in the first quarters, so kind of embarrassing.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I only hit two more after that. Okay, do you
- 23:59Speaker 1: ever did you ever experience the zone the like a
- 24:03Speaker 1: zone against me? No, Like you're in the zone you
- 24:06Speaker 1: have seven and where it's like nothing's missing, where the
- 24:09Speaker 1: fire is coming out of the ball. Ye specifically, So
- 24:13Speaker 1: what does that feel like when you shoot you make
- 24:16Speaker 1: seven and a quarter, Does it just feel like the
- 24:18Speaker 1: rim is just massive and nothing you throw up is
- 24:21Speaker 1: gonna miss? Absolutely? I mean you just get into that
- 24:25Speaker 1: muscle memory. For me, I put in so much work
- 24:29Speaker 1: daily that it starts to feel like practice where you're
- 24:33Speaker 1: used to knocking down from three. It feels like you're practicing,
- 24:38Speaker 1: you know, when you get in the zone like that
- 24:40Speaker 1: and think everything's going in. They've never been in the
- 24:42Speaker 1: zone anything ever ever, anything like this guy's doing it.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Like you're traveling around the country. Where are you today?
- 24:50Speaker 1: I am in Greensboro, North Carolina, but I'm about to
- 24:53Speaker 1: head up to Washington, d C. Watch Marilyn eastern Shore
- 24:56Speaker 1: play Howard And are people hooking you up? Getting you
- 24:59Speaker 1: in places? Um? Sometimes? So, I just had an incredible
- 25:02Speaker 1: experience at Liberty on Saturday. They gave me a campus tour.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Their facilities are power six good, it's incredible. Um. But
- 25:11Speaker 1: other times I'm just going to the game getting a
- 25:13Speaker 1: ticket like a regular. Okay, this is what we should do,
- 25:15Speaker 1: because I think we could probably help him, right, Oh yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I mean I don't know anybody, but usually we can
- 25:22Speaker 1: swing these nads around a little bit and get some
- 25:23Speaker 1: stuff or so you're in You're going to Washington, d C? Today? Yes? Okay.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I wonder because Lauren is now working on this show
- 25:34Speaker 1: off like off Mike, if she can get ahold of
- 25:37Speaker 1: somebody in the university and be like he's coming, he's
- 25:41Speaker 1: representing Boble. I don't know, maybe incredible, well maybe half
- 25:45Speaker 1: maybe half the time we can get listen. They don't
- 25:48Speaker 1: always work, and sometimes it really because times my friends
- 25:50Speaker 1: will do it and I'm not even there to like, hey,
- 25:53Speaker 1: was gonna be for dinner and they're like, who's that?
- 25:55Speaker 1: And then it's embarrassing because I don't know they were
- 25:56Speaker 1: going to do it, and then they still tell me
- 25:58Speaker 1: I got rejected. So let us make sure you go
- 26:01Speaker 1: a little. Yeah, well, my egos constantly hurt, but let
- 26:04Speaker 1: us make some calls and maybe we can get them
- 26:06Speaker 1: in some places with a little more than having to
- 26:08Speaker 1: buy a ticket, just go to a game. How many
- 26:10Speaker 1: miles that you put on your car this year so far?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Just well since I started this just under thirteen and
- 26:16Speaker 1: when did you start this December? Dude? Hitting the road
- 26:23Speaker 1: and your wife and she ever like, yo, that's fun.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I'm supporting you, but like, seriously difficult to all the games. Yeah. No,
- 26:30Speaker 1: people definitely do think I'm crazy. Like I'm coming in
- 26:33Speaker 1: from my brother's district game on the seventeen, so I
- 26:35Speaker 1: will miss a game on a Friday, and like I've
- 26:37Speaker 1: got friends wanting to kind of meet up for a
- 26:39Speaker 1: birthday party. I'm like, I'm sorry, I gotta hit the road.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I gotta be in southern Illinois by Sunday at two o'clock.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I just can't be doing that, like can't you miss
- 26:49Speaker 1: a day? Sorry? No, but yourself a lot? Right? Yeah?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Quite often come. I called Colman whenever I was it's
- 26:59Speaker 1: a going to the Grammy Red Carpet, I'd like had
- 27:01Speaker 1: three minutes and I wanted to call and be like, hey,
- 27:03Speaker 1: want you to join the show? Like full full was
- 27:05Speaker 1: part of us? And I was like made up completely,
- 27:08Speaker 1: all suit and makeup, and I was like, hey, Coleman,
- 27:11Speaker 1: do you want to join the show. Who's got the
- 27:14Speaker 1: biggest shot as of so far? The teams you've seen
- 27:16Speaker 1: at being a Cinderella this year in the tournament UM,
- 27:19Speaker 1: I've talked. I talked about them in in the previous
- 27:22Speaker 1: UM show I was on with you, but I think
- 27:24Speaker 1: Marshall and what's crazy is they aren't leading the Sun Belt.
- 27:28Speaker 1: They have four Sun Belt losses. I've now seen them
- 27:30Speaker 1: twice live. I just saw them near Myrtle Beach playing
- 27:33Speaker 1: Coastal Carolina. And offensively are they special? I mentioned Tavian Kinsey,
- 27:39Speaker 1: he is absolutely a pro six five, can rise up
- 27:42Speaker 1: over anyone to get his shot off score to all
- 27:45Speaker 1: three levels, great shooter, passer, facilitator and Andy Taylor, Dan D'Antoni.
- 27:50Speaker 1: They won a game as a thirteen seed not that
- 27:53Speaker 1: long ago. I could easily see them doing something like
- 27:56Speaker 1: that again as a thirteen or twelve seed. Um to
- 27:59Speaker 1: mention a couple other is Dayton. I think they have
- 28:01Speaker 1: the potential a couple pro type candidates. They just got
- 28:05Speaker 1: Malachi Smith Kobe Elvis healthy. When they did, they look
- 28:08Speaker 1: great on Friday. Sorry, my hotel rooms want me to
- 28:10Speaker 1: check out real quick. You go do that, well, like
- 28:15Speaker 1: next week it'll be he did it. I'm back, all right, Uh,
- 28:23Speaker 1: good luck. We'll reach out to you later off air
- 28:25Speaker 1: and see if we can facilitate something. If not this time,
- 28:27Speaker 1: we can be ahead of him next time. Otherwise, tell him,
- 28:32Speaker 1: tell him, tell him you poop in the floor. Yeah,
- 28:36Speaker 1: he's really late on that checkout. Yeah whatever, Yeah, all right, Colin,
- 28:40Speaker 1: we'll see you. I'll see you, uh later on this week. Okay,
- 28:43Speaker 1: thank you all so much. All right, seemudy there is UM.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I want to get over now and do this interview
- 28:48Speaker 1: with Caitlin's grandpa, which we went to Oklahoma to watch
- 28:53Speaker 1: him coach. He's I believe he's eighty five years old,
- 28:56Speaker 1: about s eighty six. He's been in coaching for sixty years.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Although after the interview he didn't want me to say
- 29:01Speaker 1: that he retired for a little bit because his wife
- 29:04Speaker 1: Captain's gonna got cancer for a while, and so he
- 29:06Speaker 1: was so sixty years but he hopped out and then
- 29:09Speaker 1: got back in Little Astrick. He wanted to and I
- 29:11Speaker 1: was like, say, seventy five years. He was like, no,
- 29:15Speaker 1: I want to be honest. But you know, we went
- 29:19Speaker 1: and during the game, the coach on the opposing team
- 29:23Speaker 1: walks over grabs one of these tumbler cups with ice
- 29:25Speaker 1: just chunks in the middle of the floor while the
- 29:27Speaker 1: team was playing. That's crazy, dude, So yeah, because I've
- 29:31Speaker 1: never seen aything like it before in my life. And
- 29:33Speaker 1: so he chunks it and it goes everywhere water and
- 29:36Speaker 1: they were like what happened. He's like, I can get
- 29:37Speaker 1: the rest attention. So so I've never seen this happen
- 29:41Speaker 1: before in a game. But you know, who walks over
- 29:43Speaker 1: there take care of business. Caitlin's grandpa, oh right over,
- 29:47Speaker 1: got right with him, started talking the guys like I'm sorry, yep, yep, yep,
- 29:50Speaker 1: went back, sat down, game over and then they ended
- 29:54Speaker 1: up winning. H Stigler, but this is it eighty five
- 29:59Speaker 1: years old sixty years basically in coaching. And there was
- 30:03Speaker 1: a point on the Instagram store I said, hey, he's
- 30:05Speaker 1: been a part of two state championship winning teams, he's
- 30:07Speaker 1: coached for sixty years, and he's got a hot granddaughter.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And people didn't know that was Caitlin's grand It was
- 30:12Speaker 1: just like, why are you posting that somebody is a
- 30:13Speaker 1: hot grand Hey, that does sound creepy, you know, without
- 30:15Speaker 1: the context, like you just said that about like two
- 30:19Speaker 1: stories earlier. I was like, we're in Stiegler, this is
- 30:21Speaker 1: coach Parker, coach Jim Parker. Everybody needs to relax. Okay,
- 30:24Speaker 1: it's hot granddaughter, Mike's or anything any other way. I
- 30:27Speaker 1: need to set this up. Okay, here you go, thank you. Okay.
- 30:31Speaker 1: A lot of drama at the game tonight. What happened
- 30:33Speaker 1: out there on the court. The coach got up set
- 30:36Speaker 1: because of the officiating, and there was a cup of
- 30:42Speaker 1: pop setting on the desk scores desk, and he just
- 30:45Speaker 1: reached up and got whatever he could get got to
- 30:47Speaker 1: cut th it on the floor. I've coached for a
- 30:51Speaker 1: long time and I have never seen any coach do that.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And he did not get ejected. Why didn't I get
- 30:56Speaker 1: injected section. But the official and talked to him and
- 31:01Speaker 1: he decided, well, he wouldn't do it. He just let
- 31:04Speaker 1: it go this time. But that's automatic, shouldn't be. You
- 31:07Speaker 1: were the first one over there to talk to him.
- 31:08Speaker 1: What did you say? I said, what's going on? He said?
- 31:12Speaker 1: He said, coach? He said, you've known me a long time.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And he said, I'm sorry for that. He said it
- 31:17Speaker 1: just a reaction to what the officials were And he said,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I don't know what happened to me. And I said, oh,
- 31:23Speaker 1: I know you, and I've known you for a long time,
- 31:25Speaker 1: but you you know better than that. It looked to
- 31:27Speaker 1: me like your mouth said, how would you like a
- 31:28Speaker 1: knuckle sandwich? Does that what happened? Well, that's kind of
- 31:32Speaker 1: kind of what maybe it could have come to. How
- 31:35Speaker 1: many years you've been coaching at this point, oh, counting
- 31:39Speaker 1: the white Field and a Stickler, sixty three, I think
- 31:46Speaker 1: sixty three years of coaching and you got put in
- 31:49Speaker 1: the Coaches Hall of Fame here in Oklahoma. How big
- 31:51Speaker 1: of a a thrill and honor was that? It was
- 31:55Speaker 1: the culmination of a career that I would have ever
- 32:00Speaker 1: dreamed when I was raised up in Tomahaw and going
- 32:03Speaker 1: to Tomahaw Grade School and which went to eighth grade.
- 32:06Speaker 1: And I was just a little kid running around barefoot
- 32:08Speaker 1: and playing on a dirt court. At that that wasn't
- 32:11Speaker 1: even thought of, and it was it was the top
- 32:15Speaker 1: of the mountain for me, for my for my career.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Uh once you get to that point, he everything's downhill
- 32:22Speaker 1: from there. But it hasn't been. I got that in
- 32:25Speaker 1: uh seventeen, and I've had a great time. I love
- 32:29Speaker 1: I was Then I told coach, I said, hey, I
- 32:31Speaker 1: love girls basketball, and that's the reason I'm still doing it.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Were you ever any good? I could play a little,
- 32:37Speaker 1: But what does it mean they like you play a little? Like?
- 32:39Speaker 1: How good were you? Back in the day? I could score,
- 32:41Speaker 1: I could school and I played of course Tomahaw, you
- 32:44Speaker 1: know we we played all these country schools like Red
- 32:46Speaker 1: Hill and Star and Enterprise, and all had dirt courts
- 32:51Speaker 1: marked off. He played on dirt courts was dirt court
- 32:54Speaker 1: market off with a whole mark your free throw line
- 32:57Speaker 1: and your half court and you're out of bounds or
- 32:58Speaker 1: with a hope, and that count like official game. No,
- 33:01Speaker 1: those those those were when I went to school. What
- 33:03Speaker 1: I'm saying, though, but that was the real game and
- 33:06Speaker 1: the dirt court. Yes, every Friday afterno horses to school. No, no,
- 33:10Speaker 1: we we we didn't have a bus. We rode to
- 33:13Speaker 1: school or a walk to school. Uh. Some people would
- 33:16Speaker 1: walk to school and lived in a mile or two
- 33:19Speaker 1: and the other kids would get to catch a ride
- 33:21Speaker 1: or maybe get a farm truck coming in or something
- 33:24Speaker 1: and ride in. But what made you want to get
- 33:26Speaker 1: into coaching that one once you finish school? Well, I
- 33:28Speaker 1: loved athletics. I loved I was. I played high school
- 33:31Speaker 1: basketball and high school baseball, and baseball was my first love.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I went on to Conners and play a little college
- 33:36Speaker 1: ball and uh loved it. And went to St. Leuis
- 33:38Speaker 1: trout Camp for three days after I got out of school.
- 33:41Speaker 1: And what does that mean? You went to St. Louis
- 33:44Speaker 1: trout camp? Like St. Louis Cardinals had a trio out
- 33:46Speaker 1: camp for baseball and for baseball in Tulsa, And I
- 33:49Speaker 1: want to open stay three days and with about thirty
- 33:51Speaker 1: five other kids and one kid from wherever falls made
- 33:55Speaker 1: it a guy named Charles Pearson named lou Brock, and
- 33:59Speaker 1: guy named lou Brock, and a funny story on that
- 34:02Speaker 1: when when uh when uh Grace was getting married. We
- 34:09Speaker 1: were having her wedding and this guy come and tapped
- 34:12Speaker 1: me on the shoulder and said, hey's your name Jim Parker.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I said yeah. He said you know me. I said, no,
- 34:19Speaker 1: I don't know you. He said, my name is Charles Pearson.
- 34:21Speaker 1: He said, you remember Tulsa baseball trout Camp. I said yes,
- 34:25Speaker 1: And I hadn't seen him in forty somebody years at
- 34:27Speaker 1: that time. But he goes to Billy for the eye
- 34:30Speaker 1: doctor and Billy gorse. He associated Billy with Grace and song.
- 34:35Speaker 1: But it was something that I would have known him
- 34:40Speaker 1: in a thousand years, and he probably wouldn't known me either.
- 34:42Speaker 1: But no, athletics and baseball, I've loved it in basketball,
- 34:48Speaker 1: basketball courses my love right now. Who who's the best
- 34:54Speaker 1: basketball player you've ever seen play? In person? Watching the game?
- 34:58Speaker 1: Oscar Roson like Cincinnati. I saw him playing Tulsa. Uh
- 35:04Speaker 1: other than him, uh, face to face, I've never seen
- 35:07Speaker 1: anybody like him. It's a better Lebron or Michael Jordan's
- 35:12Speaker 1: Oh gosh, Michael Jordan's why you're wrong? Why do you
- 35:17Speaker 1: think you're wrong? I'm not wrong. Michael played a different game. Hey,
- 35:22Speaker 1: Lebron is a great player. Don't get me wrong, he's
- 35:24Speaker 1: a great player. But his mouth runs off, which doesn't
- 35:28Speaker 1: take away from its playing so much. But I can't
- 35:31Speaker 1: I can't say he's greater than than Michael because Michael
- 35:34Speaker 1: got and played every ball game never never played for
- 35:36Speaker 1: a couple of years to play baseball. Yeah, how he
- 35:38Speaker 1: did do that? Changed his number for tired. He's kind
- 35:41Speaker 1: of wimped out. You know a lot of rumors bout gambling.
- 35:43Speaker 1: You know, Okay, I was gonna I was gonna ask you, Grant, Okay,
- 35:47Speaker 1: your granddaughter want to ask a question, who do you
- 35:49Speaker 1: think has the best shot out of all your grandchildren?
- 35:52Speaker 1: From Tyler all the way down to Kate? A lot
- 35:54Speaker 1: of options? Would you ask that again, Caitlin, which which
- 35:58Speaker 1: tran kid has the best shot of all of them? Uh?
- 36:03Speaker 1: I want to show you. I'm gonna show me. This
- 36:05Speaker 1: is this audio show. I was gonna show you a
- 36:08Speaker 1: picture in the other office. I'll follow you. Okay, we're
- 36:11Speaker 1: in the office right now. Lots of pictures were walking
- 36:14Speaker 1: back to see possibly picture back here of this is,
- 36:21Speaker 1: this is, this is Chris, and this is uh his
- 36:26Speaker 1: daughter Grace. So Chris is that boy's coach, and that's
- 36:32Speaker 1: his daughter Rayley right here. They win, Raley wins. Yeah right, okay,
- 36:37Speaker 1: Well that she wasn't even on your shot out with
- 36:39Speaker 1: her right now. We're gonna go out to the court
- 36:40Speaker 1: and shoot out. Right now. I'll have a shoot out
- 36:43Speaker 1: with Rayley right now. I never did see you shoot
- 36:46Speaker 1: a lot of basketball, just her mouth. All right, fine,
- 36:49Speaker 1: let me wrap up with this. Billy Dan had a
- 36:51Speaker 1: pretty decent shot on him. I did have a picture
- 36:53Speaker 1: in there every minute now, I think I took it
- 36:55Speaker 1: down and it went home. But Chris Billy was all
- 36:59Speaker 1: an All State and I had it in the trophy case.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I heard he got a patch made for him, made
- 37:05Speaker 1: made an alternate all state patch. Well he had. He
- 37:08Speaker 1: had a big picture and and memaal got face it
- 37:11Speaker 1: all up for him and we put it in a
- 37:13Speaker 1: trophy case. And then he said, dada, I don't want
- 37:16Speaker 1: that in there and take that down. So anyway, I
- 37:18Speaker 1: ended up taking down and hanging on my wall at
- 37:20Speaker 1: home now with all my other stuff. All right. Two
- 37:22Speaker 1: final questions. How many state championships have you been a
- 37:25Speaker 1: part of? Uh three state championships to two state championships,
- 37:30Speaker 1: one runner up. So you've so you've been a part
- 37:33Speaker 1: of two winning championships to that. We won one that
- 37:37Speaker 1: was a runner up, got beat on the last second
- 37:39Speaker 1: shot by j and then we turned around one one
- 37:44Speaker 1: we won the state championship. Uh. Well I got to
- 37:48Speaker 1: go to state six times. Of all the people, your
- 37:51Speaker 1: final final question here, of all the people that your
- 37:53Speaker 1: grandkids have married, who's your favorite? Well, don't answer that, Yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 1: follow me, follow me. This is a great one. Here,
- 38:01Speaker 1: keep following me. So what I'm gonna get under this
- 38:04Speaker 1: desk here? If you remember your message and you wanted
- 38:07Speaker 1: you wanted some boots, these American flag boots. Now who
- 38:11Speaker 1: which which grandkids married the best? Uh? Right now? I
- 38:15Speaker 1: would say, uh, probably probably Kitin. That's all right, that's
- 38:21Speaker 1: the answer one for two. So, hey, I was born
- 38:25Speaker 1: at night, but it wasn't last night, and I ain't stupid.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Congratulations on a win and and a great career and
- 38:30Speaker 1: for having a heck of a grandson in law, because
- 38:33Speaker 1: that's where you really hit the jackpot. Hey, I appreciate
- 38:36Speaker 1: you all coming. This was a total surprise to me.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I had no idea that was gonna happen. And you, hey,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you you thrilled the whole building. You we want to
- 38:44Speaker 1: go to see Bobby Bones. Of course they didn't mention Caitlin.
- 38:47Speaker 1: They will trust me, they did they did. Okay, we're
- 38:49Speaker 1: out from Stiegler another a big win tonight for the
- 38:52Speaker 1: boys and the girls. And that's all back to you
- 38:55Speaker 1: me all right, that's a rap. Thanks to Coleman. Will
- 38:59Speaker 1: be on the show every show until the end of
- 39:01Speaker 1: March Madness. Thanks to Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs for
- 39:06Speaker 1: making me a lot of money, hey, and entertaining this.
- 39:08Speaker 1: It was a great game mostly about making money too.
- 39:11Speaker 1: And you know, thanks to you guys for listening, because
- 39:14Speaker 1: we have renewed for six more weeks to do this. Um,
- 39:18Speaker 1: we have a new logo you'll see if it's not
- 39:20Speaker 1: up now. I don't know how much pasure what we
- 39:21Speaker 1: did here, but you'll see it at least on Friday.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But your final thought, Eddie, My final thought is it's
- 39:27Speaker 1: just some wing to confess something to my wife. Uh.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Usually I do forty dollars a month of DraftKings, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: like when I lose, I lose. But when i'm you know,
- 39:36Speaker 1: the start of the month February one, March one, I
- 39:38Speaker 1: recharged forty bucks. Super Bowl is coming. I was a
- 39:41Speaker 1: little low on the in the bank, so I had
- 39:44Speaker 1: to deposit a hundred dollars. I lost about fifty of
- 39:46Speaker 1: that last night. But that's okay. But this isn't count
- 39:49Speaker 1: confessing to her just in case she wants to listen to.
- 39:53Speaker 1: This is me confirming and I'm gonna get it off
- 39:54Speaker 1: my chest. But no, no, no, it doesn't countless you
- 39:56Speaker 1: actually tell her she's It's like you're going into a
- 39:58Speaker 1: room in a building. She's not. And how many confess
- 40:00Speaker 1: to this empty room? Yeah? But I got it out.
- 40:02Speaker 1: You know what I meant it? That's what it is.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Got it Kevin? Mine is I miss the Patriots being
- 40:07Speaker 1: the super Bowl already? Shut? You know that game yesterday
- 40:14Speaker 1: and I just missed it already. The games is not
- 40:16Speaker 1: the same when your team is not in uh my thing.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Last year and this year coming up will be the
- 40:22Speaker 1: last year. So the four team playoff is gonna be
- 40:25Speaker 1: awesome because twelve teams got one more year of four
- 40:28Speaker 1: team got twelve teams in the playoff. We're gonna have
- 40:31Speaker 1: USC and U c l A leaving the pack twelve
- 40:33Speaker 1: for the Big Ten. We're gonna have Texas and Oklahoma
- 40:35Speaker 1: going to the SEC is gonna be awesome. So next
- 40:39Speaker 1: year is gonna be great. I'm so excited about that
- 40:42Speaker 1: because more teams in the playoffs and then like the
- 40:44Speaker 1: Oklahoma Texas thing for the Southeast Conference just makes sense.
- 40:46Speaker 1: The games are close, a close proximity wise, it's gonna
- 40:50Speaker 1: be amazing. And secondly, when you're on a golf course
- 40:52Speaker 1: and never try to give the guy you're playing with
- 40:54Speaker 1: a golf lesson, especially if you're not as good as him.
- 40:58Speaker 1: And we mentioned this briefly. I've been traveling a bunch
- 41:02Speaker 1: was like, let's play golf with Eddy and I go
- 41:03Speaker 1: play golf with a couple of friends. I was playing terrible.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I can't emit the ball straight, Like, let me tell
- 41:06Speaker 1: what to do? Back up, and I'm like, first of all,
- 41:09Speaker 1: let me hand on my business here. I don't want
- 41:10Speaker 1: a golf lesson on the course from somebody I beat
- 41:14Speaker 1: nine times out of ten trying to help my boy.
- 41:16Speaker 1: You know, but but you don't. You don't go, hey man,
- 41:18Speaker 1: why don't you like in front of other people, everyone
- 41:21Speaker 1: else was trying to tell you what to do. They
- 41:22Speaker 1: weren't literally, they weren't they do that all the time.
- 41:24Speaker 1: They didn't. They literally they weren't and they didn't. And
- 41:27Speaker 1: I've been your caddie. Who's your caddie, dude, Hey, look
- 41:30Speaker 1: at me, who's your caddie. You're not my golf coach,
- 41:34Speaker 1: And then I'm beating you and I'm like, yeah, one
- 41:36Speaker 1: time out of like forty, bro, you're playing really bad.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I felt bad, bad, real bad. I like my arms
- 41:42Speaker 1: didn't even feel like part of my body. So I
- 41:43Speaker 1: don't need a lesson. I need to like arm transfusion,
- 41:46Speaker 1: like you couldn't give me your arms. All right, Thank
- 41:50Speaker 1: you guys. Follow us at twenty five whistles and we'll
- 41:57Speaker 1: see Friday as a
