- 0:01Speaker 1: A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love
- 0:06Speaker 1: one another as I have loved you, that ye also
- 0:10Speaker 1: love one another. By this shall all men know that
- 0:15Speaker 1: ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
- 0:21Speaker 1: John 13, 34-35 Dear Lord, we come to you asking
- 0:24Speaker 1: for your grace to forgive those who have wronged us.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Help us to be gracious in forgiving people, full of
- 0:38Speaker 1: love and understanding towards others. We want people to recognize
- 0:45Speaker 1: Jesus in us and remember that if he can forgive
- 0:49Speaker 1: our sins, then why can't we forgive one another? You
- 0:54Speaker 1: are the source of all peace and patience. You have
- 0:58Speaker 1: called us to love others and turn away from our
- 1:02Speaker 1: own desires. Give us the strength to be mindful of
- 1:07Speaker 1: how we interact with others as it is not our
- 1:10Speaker 1: place to judge or demand repayment for wrongs done against us.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Lead us in your way of forgiving and loving others unconditionally.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Let us not forget the example set by Jesus and
- 1:27Speaker 1: to instead treat others with kindness and grace. Help us
- 1:32Speaker 1: to be humble in our speech and honorable in our
- 1:36Speaker 1: actions so that you may be seen in us. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Thank you for joining me in prayer. Stay tuned for
- 1:48Speaker 1: today's free podcast, Meditative Prayers with Zach Clinton, where you
- 1:52Speaker 1: can draw close to God and find strength in Him.

- 2:09Speaker 2: our goal for today's meditative prayer is all about deep forgiveness.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So right now, separate yourself from all else. Maybe in
- 2:18Speaker 2: a quiet and calm place, take a moment to find
- 2:22Speaker 2: your center. As you close your eyes and breathe in
- 2:26Speaker 2: and out, Just let your body simply relax. Now turn
- 2:32Speaker 2: your thoughts to the word of God and invite the
- 2:35Speaker 2: Holy Spirit to fill your heart and open yourself to
- 2:40Speaker 2: receive from the Lord. Today we'll be meditating on John
- 2:44Speaker 2: chapter 13 verses 34 to 35 from the King James Version.
- 2:49Speaker 2: A new commandment I give unto you that ye love
- 2:52Speaker 2: one another as I have loved you that ye also
- 2:55Speaker 2: love one another. But this shall all men know, that
- 2:59Speaker 2: ye are my disciples, if ye love one to another.
- 3:05Speaker 2: By this shall all men know, that ye are my disciples,
- 3:08Speaker 2: if ye have love one to another. My friends, right now,
- 3:13Speaker 2: pour out your adoration to God, who showed his love
- 3:17Speaker 2: through Christ Jesus. God, I praise you for giving me
- 3:21Speaker 2: the very best of who you are, for demonstrating your
- 3:24Speaker 2: love through your actions at the cross. I exalt you, Lord,
- 3:28Speaker 2: for your love is unrestrained and unconditional. You withhold nothing back,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and you love me completely. You are commanded to love
- 3:40Speaker 2: others as God loved you, and love gives the very
- 3:44Speaker 2: best of itself. It holds no grudges and keeps no score.
- 3:50Speaker 2: To love as you are loved by Jesus is to
- 3:52Speaker 2: have mercy and to show grace, to have compassion and
- 3:56Speaker 2: and to not withhold clemency even in the face of betrayal.
- 4:01Speaker 2: You see, Jesus demonstrated love and forgiveness time and time again,
- 4:05Speaker 2: but nowhere is this truth made clearer than at the
- 4:08Speaker 2: scene of the Last Supper. Jesus was fully aware Judas
- 4:12Speaker 2: was about to betray him, and yet there was a
- 4:15Speaker 2: place at the table for Judas still. In full knowledge
- 4:19Speaker 2: of what was to happen, that he would be betrayed
- 4:21Speaker 2: and crucified, Jesus still offered grace and mercy to because
- 4:25Speaker 2: his actions did not depend on Judas. Judas was given
- 4:30Speaker 2: a seat at the table not because he deserved it,
- 4:33Speaker 2: but because Jesus loved him in spite of who he
- 4:35Speaker 2: was and what he did. Christ's actions were based uniquely
- 4:41Speaker 2: and solely on his relationship with the Father. As you
- 4:45Speaker 2: are called to love and to live as Christ did.
- 4:49Speaker 2: The closest you will ever come to personifying Jesus this
- 4:53Speaker 2: side of eternity is when you forgive someone who does
- 4:56Speaker 2: not deserve nor want your forgiveness because that is exactly
- 5:00Speaker 2: what Jesus did for all of us. Jesus Christ died
- 5:05Speaker 2: for our sins to give us forgiveness while we were
- 5:09Speaker 2: yet his enemies. Now, my friends, consider for a moment
- 5:14Speaker 2: God's unmatched love in your life and thank him for it.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Thank God that His love is all-encompassing and has no limits.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Thank Him that His love affords you constant forgiveness for
- 5:27Speaker 2: all of your offenses. Thank Jesus that He did not
- 5:31Speaker 2: hold your wrongs against you. Thank Him for giving you
- 5:35Speaker 2: compassion in place of condemnation. Think for a minute on
- 5:41Speaker 2: past experiences where God's love gifted you with mercy. And
- 5:46Speaker 2: thank Him for all past blessings of His grace over
- 5:49Speaker 2: your life and for those still to come. My friends,
- 5:53Speaker 2: God is present and He is listening to you. Jesus
- 5:58Speaker 2: died for you while you were still lost in your sins,
- 6:01Speaker 2: while you were still His enemy. Christ understands the challenge
- 6:05Speaker 2: of the task He has set before you. So right now,
- 6:08Speaker 2: this is your chance to approach the throne of God
- 6:11Speaker 2: and ask for divine intervention. Petition God for His grace
- 6:16Speaker 2: to flood your soul, to fill you to overflowing, and
- 6:19Speaker 2: to permeate every area of your heart. Ask the Holy
- 6:23Speaker 2: Spirit to teach you to forgive all who wrong you,
- 6:26Speaker 2: regardless if they are friend or foe. Ask the Holy
- 6:31Speaker 2: Spirit to empower you to give the best of yourself
- 6:33Speaker 2: in love, demonstrated through acts of forgiveness, kindness, and grace. Remember,
- 6:41Speaker 2: God expects you to show to others the love you
- 6:43Speaker 2: have received from Him If Christ rules in your heart,
- 6:47Speaker 2: his likeness should be seen in your actions. You are
- 6:50Speaker 2: to forgive others, to be compassionate and to show mercy,
- 6:54Speaker 2: to love others as you are loved by God. Seize
- 6:58Speaker 2: this day, this opportunity to demonstrate God's love to this world.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Give grace and act with kindness. Answer strife with peace
- 7:08Speaker 2: and strive toward witnessing God's love and forgiveness unto all.
- 7:15Speaker 2: My friends, thank you for completing today's meditative prayer on Pray.com.
