  Speaker 2: the gospel. The Gospel is really more simple than how

  Speaker 2: verses right up front. But the Romans chapter ten, and

  Speaker 2: it says, well, I should give you a little background,
• 7:22
  Speaker 2: and chapter nine Paul talks about the nation of Israel.

  Speaker 2: He sees in chapter eight all the blessings that the
• 7:33
  Speaker 2: gentile have received and are able to enjoy in the kingdom,
• 7:39
  Speaker 2: but the nation of Israel was excluded because of disobedience
• 7:45
  Speaker 2: and rebelling against God. Now not excluded all the way,
• 7:49
  Speaker 2: as far as if they come to Christ, yes they
• 7:51
  Speaker 2: can receive the blessings as well. But they lost their
• 7:54
  Speaker 2: favored nation status in the world. And so to provoke
• 8:00
  Speaker 2: the nation of Israel to jealousy, God went to the Gentiles,
• 8:05
  Speaker 2: hoping that they would come and run into his arms.
• 8:08
  Speaker 2: He loves that nation, and God will never give up
• 8:11
  Speaker 2: on them. He has not replaced them at all. He's
• 8:15
  Speaker 2: gonna go back. And that's what the tribulation is about,
• 8:19
  Speaker 2: dealing with the nation of Israel once again, and they
• 8:21
  Speaker 2: will receive their Messiah, and man's not glumin doom. The
• 8:27
  Speaker 2: end of their story is rejoiceful. So pray for that nation.

  Speaker 2: But Paul made a bold statement. He said that he
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: wished himself to be a cursed in order to win
• 8:40
  Speaker 2: his countrymen. Now that is a heart of love, and
• 8:43
  Speaker 2: that actually is the heart of Christ. Paul doesn't have
• 8:48
  Speaker 2: to be a cursed for his brethren because Jesus became
• 8:52
  Speaker 2: a curse. The Bible says whoever hangs on the tree
• 8:55
  Speaker 2: is a cursed. But Jesus did it, not only for
• 8:59
  Speaker 2: the nation of Israel, he did it for the whole
• 9:03
  Speaker 2: entire world. Amen. And so Paul is really becoming more
• 9:09
  Speaker 2: like Christ. When can we get to the point and
• 9:13
  Speaker 2: have that type of burden and have that type of
• 9:16
  Speaker 2: love and compassion in our own hearts for our family
• 9:20
  Speaker 2: members and our loved ones that we would do just
• 9:23
  Speaker 2: about anything to see them saved. I pray that we
• 9:27
  Speaker 2: will have that passion and that desire. I mean, I
• 9:30
  Speaker 2: will say that I got saved at the age of fifteen,
• 9:35
  Speaker 2: and I've had a fire to win souls and to
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: evangelize and when the community. That's what club his hop
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: is all about, and his hot nation is to win souls.

  Speaker 2: But I can't say if I've ever reached that level
• 9:49
  Speaker 2: of passion to whish myself accursed to win my countrymen.

  Speaker 2: But hey, we're all here trying to become more like Jesus.

  Speaker 2: So now chapter ten, it continues the thought. He's still

  Speaker 2: talking about Israel, his brothers, the nation, and lets easdrop
• 10:19
  Speaker 2: on this conversation. Amen. Chapter ten, Verse one, Brethren, my
• 10:25
  Speaker 2: heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: they may be saved. For I bear them witness that
• 10:36
  Speaker 2: they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge,
• 10:42
  Speaker 2: for they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and seeking to
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness
• 10:53
  Speaker 2: of God. For Christ is the end of the law,
• 10:58
  Speaker 2: for righteousness to everyone one who believes. Amen. That's a
• 11:03
  Speaker 2: memory verse and a T shirt altogether. Christ is the
• 11:08
  Speaker 2: end of the law. People are still struggling with the
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: law today. And like I said before, a lot of
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: people when they choose to start a new occult, that's
• 11:19
  Speaker 2: the first thing they gravitate to is the law. They
• 11:22
  Speaker 2: want to make you work for something. You have to
• 11:25
  Speaker 2: pass out flyers or knock on doors, or you have
• 11:29
  Speaker 2: to observe the traditions and the sacraments and all this stuff,
• 11:34
  Speaker 2: you know, keeping some type of rule. And as I
• 11:37
  Speaker 2: said earlier in this podcast, I was going to a
• 11:41
  Speaker 2: church in my early twenties. They taught Christ, they taught
• 11:44
  Speaker 2: faith in Christ, and they even taught about the grace
• 11:48
  Speaker 2: of God. But then they put some strict rules on you,
• 11:52
  Speaker 2: and they would say things like, if you don't listen
• 11:54
  Speaker 2: to the pastor you're gonna go to hell as if
• 11:58
  Speaker 2: they're putting the pastor on the same level as scripture.
• 12:02
  Speaker 2: Just be careful of those legalistic, manipulating type ministries out there.
• 12:08
  Speaker 2: I have a whole book I need to write my
• 12:11
  Speaker 2: experience in that. But God delivered me through the word
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: of God. Knowing your word. I'm telling you it's powerful
• 12:20
  Speaker 2: because even the scripture says that the whole nation of
• 12:23
  Speaker 2: Israel was ignorant of God's righteousness. People went to hell
• 12:28
  Speaker 2: just because they didn't know, because they didn't have the
• 12:32
  Speaker 2: right knowledge. They fell short of it and beloved, let
• 12:36
  Speaker 2: us not be us, let us learn, and let it
• 12:38
  Speaker 2: not be us. But let's break it down. See now, brother,
• 12:43
  Speaker 2: in my heart's desire and prayer for God for Israel
• 12:46
  Speaker 2: is that they may be saved. For I bear the
• 12:49
  Speaker 2: witness that they have a zeal for God, but not
• 12:52
  Speaker 2: according to righteousness. Paul loved Israel deeply and longed for
• 12:58
  Speaker 2: their salvation. They had zeal, but it was not with knowledge.
• 13:04
  Speaker 2: It was misplaced, relying on their own righteousness instead of
• 13:09
  Speaker 2: submitting to God's righteousness through Christ. See now, that was
• 13:16
  Speaker 2: a powerful thing for them to have a righteousness, but
• 13:20
  Speaker 2: not having a righteousness that belonged to God is a
• 13:26
  Speaker 2: devastating thing. And see, zeal without truth can be very dangerous.
• 13:32
  Speaker 2: This speaks to many today who are passionate about God.
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: They really want to do it work for God, they
• 13:40
  Speaker 2: want to serve God, but they can be misguided. Salvation
• 13:46
  Speaker 2: is not about works, but about surrend surrender to Jesus Christ.
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: You know what I mean. It's not about works, and so.

  Speaker 1: We have to.

  Speaker 2: Submit to the righteousness that is of God and of
• 14:08
  Speaker 2: God alone. Seeing I can even remember in the earlier
• 14:12
  Speaker 2: stages of my ministry how I started out as a
• 14:19
  Speaker 2: new convert, passing out tracks and doing a lot of things.
• 14:23
  Speaker 2: But if I didn't have a foundation in the Gospel,
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: if I didn't have a foundation in the truth, and
• 14:31
  Speaker 2: then I would end up on the wrong side of things.
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. Now, Let's go to Romans
• 14:38
  Speaker 2: chapter five, verse eight says for Moses' rights about the
• 14:45
  Speaker 2: righteousness which is of the law. The man who does
• 14:50
  Speaker 2: those things shall live by them. But the righteousness of
• 14:55
  Speaker 2: faith speaks this way. Do not say in your heart,
• 14:59
  Speaker 2: who will ins sin unto heaven, that is, to bring
• 15:02
  Speaker 2: Christ down from above, or who will ascend unto the abyss,
• 15:09
  Speaker 2: that is to bring Christ up from the dead. But
• 15:13
  Speaker 2: what does it say. The Word is near you in
• 15:16
  Speaker 2: your mouth and in your heart. That is the word
• 15:20
  Speaker 2: of faith which we preach, that if you confess with
• 15:26
  Speaker 2: your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart
• 15:29
  Speaker 2: that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  Speaker 2: For what the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with
• 15:37
  Speaker 2: the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scriptures
• 15:43
  Speaker 2: say whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame,
• 15:47
  Speaker 2: for there is no destruction. I mean, excuse me, there
• 15:51
  Speaker 2: is no distinction between you or Greek. For the same
• 15:55
  Speaker 2: Lord over all is rich to all who call upon him.

  Speaker 2: For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall
• 16:03
  Speaker 2: be saved. Okay, so now this is a great breakdown,

  Speaker 2: all right, So let's tackle this, beloved. Moses writes about
• 16:20
  Speaker 2: the righteousness which is of the law, the man who
• 16:25
  Speaker 2: does those scenes shall live by them. But the righteousness
• 16:30
  Speaker 2: of faith speaks this way. Now the law demands perfection,
• 16:36
  Speaker 2: which no one could keep, but faith in Christ brings
• 16:40
  Speaker 2: righteousness near. That is not about striving, but believing. This
• 16:46
  Speaker 2: passage reminds us that Salvation is accessible, Okay, all right,
• 16:53
  Speaker 2: that is the point on China mean, you don't have

  Speaker 2: to climb a mountain or perform rituals. It's right here

  Speaker 2: through faith in Christ. It's through faith in Christ that

  Speaker 2: is the righteousness of God. Now, this is what I

  Speaker 2: you notice in the scripture it says who will bring

  Speaker 2: Christ up? In verse seven, in verse six it says

  Speaker 2: who will bring Christ down? Now it sounds like impossible thing, right.

  Speaker 2: I mean, no one could go into heaven and bring
• 17:43
  Speaker 2: Christ down right, and no one can go into the
• 17:47
  Speaker 2: Abyss and bring Christ up right. That that is impossible,
• 17:53
  Speaker 2: that that can happen. It can't be done. But it
• 17:56
  Speaker 2: says that it's near you. Salvation is closer than what
• 18:02
  Speaker 2: we think. That's what I'm trying to say. Man likes
• 18:06
  Speaker 2: to make it complicated. Man likes to make it more
• 18:11
  Speaker 2: complicated than what it should be. Man likes to make things.

  Speaker 2: I mean, it actually appeals to our flesh, right, it
• 18:20
  Speaker 2: appeals to our flesh. We love to watch these superhero
• 18:24
  Speaker 2: movies where they overcome surmountable odds. The bad guy just
• 18:31
  Speaker 2: gets the advantage of the hero. Then the hero has
• 18:35
  Speaker 2: to strive and strategize and outthink them, out trick them,
• 18:41
  Speaker 2: and outdo them on every side. And all of a
• 18:43
  Speaker 2: sudden he comes back and bam, he conquers the enemy,
• 18:47
  Speaker 2: and he saves a day, and everybody is singing the
• 18:52
  Speaker 2: praises of this hero. I mean that appeals to our flesh,
• 18:56
  Speaker 2: you know. I mean I love these I grew up
• 18:58
  Speaker 2: in these type of stories, you know. But the hero
• 19:02
  Speaker 2: in this story is God. God will not share his
• 19:05
  Speaker 2: glory with no one. So no, there's nothing for us
• 19:10
  Speaker 2: to do to be saved other than believing in his
• 19:16
  Speaker 2: son Jesus Christ and living our lives for him. And
• 19:20
  Speaker 2: then he can make us heroes. But we will be
• 19:24
  Speaker 2: heroes in Christ. We will be heroes in Christ and
• 19:30
  Speaker 2: Christ alone. Amen. So let's jump back to verse eight.

  Speaker 2: But what does it say The Word is near you, Amen?

  Speaker 2: The word is near you. Salvation is closer than what
• 19:49
  Speaker 2: we think is in your mouth and in your heart.

  Speaker 2: That is the word of faith which we preach. If

  Speaker 2: we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe

  Speaker 2: in our heart that God raised him from the dead,

  Speaker 2: you shall be saved. Amen. Hallelujah. Now let's go a

  Speaker 2: little further here, for with the heart one believeth unto righteousness,

  Speaker 2: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For

  Speaker 2: the scripture says, whoever believes in Him will not be

  Speaker 2: you or Greek. For the same Lord overall is rich

  Speaker 2: to all who call upon him. For whoever calls on

  Speaker 2: the name of the Lord shall be saved. Amen, hallelujah.

  Speaker 2: Now let's break it down. If you confess with your

  Speaker 2: mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that

  Speaker 2: God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Amen.

  Speaker 2: Now this is amazing. This is why I love the

  Speaker 2: Book of Romans so much. It breaks down salvation and
• 21:13
  Speaker 2: makes it simple. Right. This is the heart of the
• 21:18
  Speaker 2: Gospel right here. It's simple, clear, and it's powerful. Confession
• 21:23
  Speaker 2: and belief in Christ brings salvation. Let me say that again,
• 21:28
  Speaker 2: Confession and belief in Christ brings salvation. This is the
• 21:36
  Speaker 2: verse many of us memorized early on, but it's life
• 21:42
  Speaker 2: changing every time we reflect upon it. Just think about it.
• 21:48
  Speaker 2: This is the verse we hear when we get saved.

  Speaker 2: Most of the times that we confess the Lord, we
• 21:55
  Speaker 2: shall be saved. Salvation is a matter of heart and confession,

  Speaker 2: faith lived out loud. It's our faith lived out loud.

  Speaker 2: It's not the law, it's not rules, it's not regulation.

  Speaker 2: It's a matter of confession in a heart posture this relationship. Amen,

  Speaker 2: all right, Let's go to verse fourteen and man, we're

  Speaker 2: gonna take it from fourteen to seventeen. And it says

  Speaker 2: right here, how then shall they call on him to
• 22:40
  Speaker 2: whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe
• 22:43
  Speaker 2: in Him of whom they have not heard? And how
• 22:47
  Speaker 2: shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they
• 22:50
  Speaker 2: preach unless they are sent? As it is written? How
• 22:55
  Speaker 2: beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel
• 22:59
  Speaker 2: of peace to bring glad titans of good things? But

  Speaker 2: they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Israel, says Lord,

  Speaker 2: who has believed our report. I'm sorry for Isaiah, says Lord,

  Speaker 2: who has believed our report. So then faith comes by

  Speaker 2: hearing and hearing by the word of God. Amen. See,
• 23:26
  Speaker 2: they're just so much richness here in the Book of Romans. Man,
• 23:31
  Speaker 2: I love it. All right, let's break it down. What
• 23:34
  Speaker 2: I say? Have they not heard? Yes? Indeed, am I
• 23:42
  Speaker 2: in the right place. Now, how then shall they call
• 23:45
  Speaker 2: on him in whom they have not believed? So then
• 23:49
  Speaker 2: faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

  Speaker 2: All right, So Paul emphasizes evangelism. People cannot believe a
• 24:00
  Speaker 2: less someone shares the message. When you say that again,

  Speaker 2: people cannot believe unless someone shares a message. That's why
