- 0:02I started talking about my interpretation of Christian theology a couple of episodes ago,
- 0:09and to keep back explaining my interpretation of the claim that Christianity is sexist.
- 0:19I'm a griddle Catholic, which for those who don't know, means being baptized
- 0:24Catholic as a baby, and generally continue attending Catholic Mass. And throw that
- 0:30out there because it took me following YouTube channel was the Answers to realize that
- 0:38there were claims of sexism. She mentioned a Bible passage that I thought she
- 0:46said was in Isiah, and instead of looking up the video, did a
- 0:53Google search with what I remember and came up with First Corinthians, Chapter fourteen,
- 1:02verses thirty four and five. Let your women keep silent in the churches,
- 1:10or they are not permitted to speak, but they are to be submissive,
- 1:15as the law also says. And if they want to learn something,
- 1:19let them ask their own husbands at home, or it is shameful for women
- 1:26to speak at church. Did I like the thought of women preachers and still
- 1:30do, yes, But I didn't let it get me down because of reinforcement.
- 1:38No female priest is about respecting tradition, not sexism, and nuns fill
- 1:48the void. They ironically teach in schools and are classes for those who don't
- 1:57know. Are stands for religious education, glasses for kids so they can receive
- 2:02first communion and confession for adults. It's rcia when you really pay attention.
- 2:15Getting older, they become more badass. It takes dedication to make God that
- 2:23much of a priority, to the point you don't feel like you're missing out
- 2:29on your traditional romantic relationship and biological children minus the hitting our parents with rulers,
- 2:42so I've been told. But hey, this is coming from someone who
- 2:47thinks Sister Act is one of the greatest movies of all time until the next
