- 0:01Audio, so Quincy sent the Apple Top one hundred albums list right before we
- 0:08got disrespectful. Hey, Actually something that I checked out. I checked out
- 0:14actually that I heard on the Breakfast Club was DJ Envy and Charlemagne was talking
- 0:20about when they did the intro, and somebody, somebody of importance at the
- 0:25station that they work at was telling them, like, yo, y'all need
- 0:28to say your names every episode, like every time you start the show,
- 0:32say your name the same way, a recognizable way, Like that's really important.
- 0:36And they're like kind of known for the intro and people always remember their
- 0:40names because you think about the intro, like you can't forget who's on the
- 0:44show, you know what I mean. Charlemagne the God justs hilarious, like
- 0:49it's like etched in your brain. We don't even like introduce ourselves. We
- 0:56just get right into it. We just be on here. We don't even
- 0:59put the names on the on the thing anymore because it interferes with the captions
- 1:02and stuff. So, like, you know, I think we should start
- 1:06giving the introductions, man, like we need to. We need to let
- 1:08the people know what it is. Facts, all right, facts, yes,
- 1:15sir, we back again. It's your boy, Lester Sanchez, artist,
- 1:21producer, designer, ex Shorten. There a little bit of everything back
- 1:26again for the Grounded Show. I'm here with my dogs. I'm gonna let
- 1:29them introduce themselves. Your boy, Quincy jamal Man artists professional get whatever you
- 1:36just said. That's kind of cool. I wanted to say it too,
- 1:38And yeah, man, we're back at it. Yeah it's your boy.
- 1:42I stay greasy, I keep it easy. I'm a mother lover from the
- 1:46gutter and you gotta stay buddy. You feel me? Hey, Dad,
- 1:51it's like that was hers like he was in the mirror with that one.
- 1:55No, I got to introduce myself. It means all the time, bro,
- 1:57it's like a week. A good intro is a good icebreaker too,
- 2:01you know. Yeah you said the vibe, right, that's one thing that
- 2:05I'm trash at that you're great at, Joe. Like just setting like a
- 2:09like a comfortable atmosphere, you know what I mean, Like I set like
- 2:13a standoff is terrible atmosphere, you know what I mean. Like it's crazy
- 2:16because you catch me on a podcast and it's like not and day from like
- 2:21real life. But it's also because it's y'all, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:23talking to the home means I'm chilling, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:25But I swear people probably think I'm an asshole just from like how I be
- 2:30looking when I be around, and it's just I don't know, dog,
- 2:32I didn't even I wasn't even aware of it until my wife told me,
- 2:35like, no, that's what That's just funny, Like let's you're the way
- 2:40you are is a lot I have, my boys are I'm probably like the
- 2:44one off of all my boys, like you are probably aligned with them more
- 2:47than me. So that's why it's so easy for me to understand like your
- 2:52personality, Like he's just like that bro, trust me. Yeah, it's
- 2:55it's funny, man. But yeah, man Quincy showed us that top one
- 3:00hundred lists, So the way I understood that list at first, that Apple
- 3:07dropped like for some reason, I don't know, I think I read an
- 3:08article or something, but I had thought that it was just like them talking
- 3:14about albums specifically that are on Apple Music in the streaming era. I don't
- 3:20know why I thought that was the criteria. So when I had seen like
- 3:23you know, them like dropping the list little by little and catching it like
- 3:28in the news and stuff like that. I wasn't really paying no mind from
- 3:31that point of view, because if it's just something that you're basing off of
- 3:36your platform, and you know, in the streaming era, like those are
- 3:39different, different criteria, you know what I'm saying. But dog, it
- 3:44says on the link from Apple Welcome to one hundred Best Albums, our definitive
- 3:50list of the greatest albums ever made. That says definitive list, which is
- 3:55the greatest albums ever made. So this is telling me, you're saying that
- 4:00this album, this list is your what y'all think are the greatest albums from
- 4:04one to one hundred? And like I said, who picked that Apple Music
- 4:08executives? Who is the one who definitively agree to that? I don't know.
- 4:14Usually it's it's a whole bunch of writers. But I'm saying, you
- 4:16know what, I would appreciate it if because I saw the disclosure. Well,
- 4:20no, I opened that up. I'm at the gym, opened Apple
- 4:24Music app, and I see that and it says here's like seventy through one
- 4:28hundred and click it. It takes them to a link outside of Apple Music.
- 4:30No, that's one thing I hate about anything, don't take me to
- 4:31a link outside. So then I was like, as easy as they did
- 4:35that, why didn't they put that in all the users in Apple Music?
- 4:39Like, hey, where do you put these albums in the top one hundred
- 4:42hours of all time? Why didn't they ask their users? They have real
- 4:45easy access to the users. Why didn't you use the users who came up
- 4:48with this list. Yeah, I don't know. But first of all,
- 4:55and I'm not I'm not even going to qualify any of these statements or this
- 5:00list because we talking music. You know what I'm saying. It ain't no
- 5:03disrespect to anybody nothing, you know what I'm saying. We're just talking candidly
- 5:09about this list. Dog. Why is Lauryn Hill the number one album of
- 5:13all time? Dog? You know album? But it is a great album.
- 5:23I've never thought to myself, Dang, if I never listened to that
- 5:26Lauryn Hill album ever again, my life would just never be the same.
- 5:30Like, it's a great album. But to say the number one album of
- 5:34all time? Yeah, and then you're gonna disrespect Thriller by putting it behind
- 5:40it? Yeah, that's crazy. Like, if you're gonna put Lauryn Hill
- 5:43at number one. Just go all the way with it and put Thriller at
- 5:46like seventy three. You know what I'm saying, Like, if you're gonna
- 5:49not put Thriller number one, you know, based off of the albums that
- 5:53are on this list, you already lost, like in my opinion, because
- 5:57Dog, what are we talking about right now? And that was the same
- 6:00thing I felt. If I'm thinking of the number one greatest album of all
- 6:05time, it has to be one of the greatest artists of all time.
- 6:11Not taking away from Laura Hill. She's an amazing artist, one of my
- 6:14favorite not just female, not just rap, not just R and B,
- 6:17just one of my favorite artists in general, but not the greatest album of
- 6:24all time favorite artists. Dog, I'm gonna run this. I'm gonna run
- 6:29this Thriller track list real quick, and then Quincy, I want to hear
- 6:32your thoughts, but let me run through this track list real quick, all
- 6:34right. The track list to Thriller, Oh my God, bro number one.
- 6:42The album starts with want to Be Starting. That's the first song,
- 6:47bro. Like that song is just a banger, period, but as the
- 6:50first song on the album, like, it just makes so much sense and
- 6:55it's like such a fire intro song. But all right, I'm not gonna
- 6:59describe all of them, but number two Baby Be Mine a banger, The
- 7:03Girl Is Mine, number three featuring like Come On. Number four Thriller,
- 7:10one of the greatest songs of all time, one of the most recognizable songs
- 7:13of all time. Number five beat It one of the most infectious songs of
- 7:16all time. Like that's just like you can't help but feel that joint fact.
- 7:20Billy Jean, the classic just Slider of your childhood, Like everybody just
- 7:26Billy Jean hits and everybody feels the same way. Human Nature number seven one
- 7:31of the most beautiful songs of all time. Just just a feeling that you
- 7:36don't even get from a song dog Like that's that song is crazy p yt
- 7:42number eight, Come On. Number nine Lady in My Life, probably my
- 7:46favorite ballad of all time. Do so, so, what's up? What
- 7:54do you feel about? The start of one and two of this list.
- 7:59It's a tone for the rest of the list, because for you to put
- 8:03D'Angelo Voodoo at fifty seven and Usher Confession at ninety five, that's crazy,
- 8:11like absolutely insane. Usher Confession is probably his best album ever, it's one
- 8:18of the main albums ever period period. And don't get me wrong, I
- 8:24enjoy Voodoo. It got some songs on there. But when it comes to
- 8:28bodies of work, bro, come on, it's not even in the same
- 8:31conversation. Bro, it don't even make any sense. Like I feel like
- 8:35they just put albums in and shuffled it. I will say this one that
- 8:41caught me by surprise. But when I thought about it, I was like,
- 8:46dang, I really could argue it might belong in this spot. Is
- 8:52good Kid, Mad City? Yeah No, that's a body of that's a
- 8:54great body of wars. When I saw it, I was like, good
- 8:56Kid, Mad City. But then I really thought about that album and honestly,
- 9:01it also dropped that like a time where I was like peak, like
- 9:05into music, you know what I mean. Like it caught me at the
- 9:07right time as well. But like just that album period is like that that's
- 9:11that's a slide or that's exactly like that was, And just as an album,
- 9:18like when you think about actually an album, like it really is like
- 9:22like you said, Joe, no skips, because it's just really a body
- 9:24of work. This is the way I look at it. Thriller. You
- 9:26got nine tracks easily easily six of those tracks you could play to almost anybody
- 9:35in this world and they know that song. Dang y'all want to know?
- 9:39Go ahead, bro, I'm sorry, no, no, no, no,
- 9:41go ahead, keep no no. I'm going to a different point,
- 9:43bro, going to a different thing. I want to be starting some thriller.
- 9:46Beat It, Billy Jane, Human Nature, pyt To this day,
- 9:50you can play those six tracks and that's more than that's like seventy percent of
- 9:54that album. Fact, Lauren Hill sixteen tracks, I Think and You Got
- 9:58Me? We Lost One's X factor is Zion do wop, everything is everything.
- 10:05It can't take my eyes of you. Six out of sixteen, less
- 10:09than fifty percent of that track that you could play to anybody in this world
- 10:13and they probably recognize and something might even you might even get down the four
- 10:18broo. Bro, there's people that wouldn't recognize any Laura Hill song, You
- 10:20see what I mean? And that's why it's like the power of those songs
- 10:24today and how long ago was that. That's nineteen eighty two compared to nineteen
- 10:31ninety eight, and those songs still resonate more than a lot of songs on
- 10:35that Laurence Hill, I do not see that justification. So what I was
- 10:41gonna say, really quick, go ahead. I think we had an episode
- 10:43I can't remember what episode it was where we discuss Drake's albums and which one
- 10:48was like the best body of work. And I don't know if this was
- 10:50a consensus that we all came to, but I do recall nothing was the
- 10:56same being that body of work? Am I incorrect? Or Joe was taking
- 10:58Care? Okay, it was take Care? What about you guys? For
- 11:03me, I would say nothing was if you if I picked him, that
- 11:05one has a hold on your going home and find your loving both Kanye produced.
- 11:13Yep, Yeah, he has some good singing on the album. So
- 11:16they have take Care. First off, they have take Care. Drake's only
- 11:20album on this list is take Care and it's at number forty seven. Nothing
- 11:26was the same didn't even make the list. Take Care. It was like
- 11:31Trouble. Double the track length, I mean double the track list length of
- 11:35Nothing was the same too, and Dog number five in between Prince and Stevie,
- 11:41Wonder Blonde by Frank Ocean. Ah, yeah, I would rather put
- 11:48your ultra, I put in ultra any Frank even Channel Orange. I'm about
- 11:54to say, I feel like Channel Orange is better than Blonde. Yeah,
- 11:56I put but yeah, nostalag is more like a mixtape. But Channel Orange
- 12:01critical acclaim for Blonde has always confused the whole overrated For me, these people
- 12:09think that album is like the touch of God. Bro, Like, what
- 12:13what am I missing? Dog? Like? I get mad sometimes, like,
- 12:16Bro, what am I missing when I'm listening to this that I'm not
- 12:18hearing what these people are hearing? Because Dog, they talk about this album
- 12:24like it's something like yo to me, like this is random as hell,
- 12:28But I'll take Teaso Touchdown every day over Frank Ocean. Dogs. That's why
- 12:33every day, dog, Yo, I'm telling you check out Teaso Touchdown and
- 12:37his whole body of work. But did you listen to No No, I
- 12:41listened to all Frank Ocean. I'm I'm a Frank Ocean fan. And so
- 12:46you can match up soft a song on both of those to everything Got Today.
- 12:50I agree with that. It's just the sound that Teaso Touched Down got
- 12:54like. It's just crazy, like it's definitely not for everyone because it's like
- 12:58a mix of sound. No, but can you match him song for song
- 13:01I can. I can for sure see my introduction to t though was him
- 13:05live and it just was not for me. I saw him and I was
- 13:09the first time I ever heard him at all, and it just was not
- 13:13for me at all. Yeah, but I've seen artists that I like that
- 13:16I saw them live and I didn't even finish the show, you know what
- 13:20I mean, Like I couldn't even watch it, and they're like my favorite
- 13:22artists, you know what I'm saying. So I wouldn't judg. I definitely
- 13:24would would check him out again, but I still wouldn't be surprised if you
- 13:28didn't like him anyway if you heard him again. Yeah, just for me,
- 13:31Like that's like and this kind of goes back to my feelings about Blonde.
- 13:35Like to me, when I heard Teazo Touchdown, it was like I
- 13:39heard something new, Like I remember like hearing his songs because it was like,
- 13:45damn, this is different, but it's so fire, you know what
- 13:48I'm saying. Even though Frank Ocean is dope and I'm a fan of Frank
- 13:52Ocean, I never heard any of his music and was like, what is
- 13:56this He's this is something different, you know what I'm saying I have I'm
- 14:00not gonna lie. I have, bro, I'm not gonna lie. His
- 14:03music there's there's no loops, there's no repetitiveness. Every single song is like
- 14:09an orchestra of R and B. I got you, Like, That's how
- 14:15I feel about when you're talking about R and B. That's how I feel
- 14:18about Craig David. I mean, like I hear like Craig. When I
- 14:24first heard Craig David, it was like a life changing sound, you know
- 14:26what I mean? Like I was like, bro, what this is so
- 14:28fire? Like? The way like Craig David to me was like one of
- 14:33the first ones that I was really like flowing and getting on like dope beats
- 14:37for R and B artists, Like I always hate That's one thing I always
- 14:41hate about R and B that everything on the albums was so slow. It's
- 14:45like everything was slow, like just a whole bunch of slow songs, one
- 14:48right after another. And it's like, dog, I like, I like
- 14:52hearing these guys when they own the rap songs, you know what I mean.
- 14:54I like hearing them when they're like on the singles and stuff. But
- 14:56then you go to the album and everything is just like super slow, super
- 15:00slow, super impressing. I'm like, bro, I'm not trying to listen
- 15:03to this. I want to keep going R and B, but let's not
- 15:05get too d Yeah, I keep on this list. Yeah, dog.
- 15:09And then Beyonce Lemonade number ten like that around out that that was a good
- 15:16body of work, though, Bro, that was a revolution. Especially Twitter
- 15:20was Twitter was at this time. This is my other thing with these with
- 15:24this list as well. Though. I'm glad y'all said that, because it
- 15:26reminded me of a point that I wanted to make that I didn't write down
- 15:31these albums on this list. Some of them don't even make the time cut
- 15:35off to even be talked about, to even be put on this list.
- 15:41Frank Ocean Blonde, like just looking at it off the top of my head,
- 15:45like bok bruh. These albums are twenty one by Adell, nineteen eighty
- 15:50nine Taylor Swift like Dog, these albums ain't even old enough to be considered
- 15:54on these on these lists, Dogs like I feel like you got it,
- 15:58Like you can't be putting these albums in the same like, respectfully, they're
- 16:03good, but that's like putting Antwards in the top ten exactly like this whole
- 16:07Like, oh, he's like Jordan bro. He hasn't even done it.
- 16:10He hasn't done a damn thing like Jordan's. Come on now, I am
- 16:15a big, big Amy White House fan. I can't wait to watch your
- 16:18movie Back to Black. Yeah, it's just one of my favorite albums of
- 16:22probably the favorite album of her of all time. I bought it for my
- 16:25sister for her birthday. But same, yeah, my top ten Yeah facts,
- 16:33and it's a dope album that that one. She got some sliders,
- 16:37Man, she got some sliders. I'm usually not a fan of like female
- 16:40R and B and stuff, but maybe One House is dope, super dope.
- 16:45What's your thoughts about Doctor dre At nineteen with the Chronic Doctor The Chronic
- 16:52to me is one of those things where it's like I could, I always
- 16:56could give it the past, you know what I mean, because like it
- 17:00was another thing that changed the sound, like even though like to me,
- 17:04when you look back on it, it's dope, but it's not like that
- 17:08I will put it like no, you know what I'm saying, like top
- 17:11twenty all time, maybe like maybe a round out the thirty for me,
- 17:15you know what I'm saying, but top twenty here, Richard Dyke Trying at
- 17:21eighty two, Marshall Mathers a eighty Broeah, Richard I Try and arguably should
- 17:26have been the second best rap album at least behind Illmatic. It should have
- 17:33been like that is before him. They put Nwa before, I mean,
- 17:37I could be bad Bunny before it. Oh, I don't get it.
- 17:41They put Enter the Wu Tang two spots ahead of Illmatic. Dog that's crazy,
- 17:48that's wild, and then they're both behind Beyonce is Beyonce album Yo,
- 17:55Janny Jackson Control at forty two, Equim and I Are forty one. The
- 18:00fact that Bob Marley's album is at forty six and all of these albums before
- 18:04it, it's crazy to me. That was a big project. Billy El
- 18:14at thirty. I won't be I'm not I'm not too man. At least
- 18:18my beautiful Dark Twiss and Fantasy was in the top thirty. I put that
- 18:22one a little high. That was a masterpiece. Up with the chronic I
- 18:27think they got to entertain the masses, you know, the people who make
- 18:32Billboard charts, the people who have subscribed to Apple Music, the people.
- 18:37It definitely gets tricky as well, when you're when you're merging all the genres,
- 18:41you know what I mean. That's why it's like, it's kind of
- 18:45hard to stay unbuying number seventy three, Who the Boys, Steely Dad,
- 18:53uh Boys? I like the Blueprint at thirteen. I don't mind that top
- 19:00fifteen, but yeah, I can't. I can't get with at all.
- 19:07Yeah, bro, I'm at that. I'm in the nineties and no Maxwell.
- 19:12Yeah wow, that's crazy. That's well not even at the top one
- 19:18hundred. Astra World at ninety eight that that album is from twenty eighteen.
- 19:26Kate Busch is Kate Bush. The album is six years old. Kate Bush
- 19:33is the chick from the eighties that had that song that they ended up using
- 19:37it for Stranger Things and it got popular again. It went back to number
- 19:40one. What is it? What was it called? The It was like
- 19:45right that hell yeah, yeah, yep yeah. The overall thoughts on that,
- 19:52man, that's that's terrible, dog, it's a terrible list. It's
- 19:56hard when you mix the genres. I'll give him that that is that's the
- 20:00only out they get. They get it. So you can't make a percentage
- 20:06of hip hop a percentage of this, but I would take overall album sales,
- 20:11overall tour sales, overall singles on the album, overall impact to the
- 20:17culture, and how it still resonates today as a factor for all of these
- 20:22and a lot of these top fifties do not fit the fit the bill for
- 20:26me. No, that's a fact. That is a fact that list man.
- 20:33To quote Dave Chappelle, I wish I had four hands so I could
- 20:36get that list four thumbs down. Oh man, I feel like they couldn't
- 20:45run about it a little better if they just did graenres and probably let the
- 20:47people kind of figure it out from there. You know what I'm saying,
- 20:49Like Dores, you know what I mean, because right now, this list
- 20:52to me, even even if you organize it by genre, I don't agree
- 20:56with the list like exactly. That's only yeah, even if I only looked
- 21:00at hip hop in R and B, personally, I still feel like this
- 21:04list is not where it needs to be. The top ten gotta be somebody
- 21:10that influenced so many people, Like you know what I'm saying, Like it
- 21:14has to be like an originator of sound like yo, college dropouts not even
- 21:18on here, crazy bro, No, I didn't see no cooling the gang.
- 21:26I ain't seen no gap band, I ain't see no beg's like nothing
- 21:30like that, Like if we do it ourselves for hip hop and rap.
- 21:36They're saying the greatest hip hop and rap albums of all time is Good Kids,
- 21:38Mass City at number one, blue Printing number two, Chronic at number
- 21:45three, My Beautiful Dark at number four, Low End Theory number five,
- 21:53Ready to Die number six? Are you green so far into the wu?
- 21:56I gotta hear the I gotta hear the ten, Elematic number eight, Equipment
- 22:03nine, number nine, and then we're not gonna put Drake, uh Drake
- 22:08will be the tenth one. We're not. I won't put it all eyes
- 22:12on me number ten. No, there's too much R and B on I
- 22:18said, this is hip hop and rap. I'm not doing this. These
- 22:21aren't R and B albums. You wouldn't You wouldn't put that. It's a
- 22:26lot of R and B on take care. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 22:29I agree. I agree. So yeah, then Tupac would be the ten.
- 22:33Yeah yeah, I wouldn't be mad at that. Like the order,
- 22:34obviously I would switch it up, but the names and the importance of those
- 22:40people that you named in that top ten. I wouldn't be mad at that
- 22:42list. I think that's what they went wrong. Combining these takes a lot
- 22:48of it, because then you're skipping all the people you don't know, and
- 22:51you're like, who the fuck these people? Yeah? Back up, Yeah,
- 22:59well there you have it, folks. Yeah, facts, you heard
- 23:03it here. First, it's trash, yo, speaking of trash, speaking
- 23:10of speaking of it is terrible inside the NBA dogs, it's looking like next
- 23:15year the last NBA. Man, it's staple. No, it's not looking
- 23:18it's officially official. Well, the show itself in the iteration is it's for
- 23:26sure not coming back. They could still all go to another, you know,
- 23:30another company together, whether it be ESPN, Disney. I mean Disney
- 23:33is ESPN at this point, but you know, whether it's Amazon, whether
- 23:37it's another cable. It will never be the same as is the end of
- 23:41an era. It could be the same if they're able to keep the producers.
- 23:48Yeah, so if the producers go to it could it would be a
- 23:52different name, and it'll obviously, like you know, it'll literally not be
- 23:56the same. But if they can keep the producers, it could be pretty
- 24:00much the same. If they keep the talent and the producers. Well the
- 24:04show started in nineteen eighty nine. Yeah, that's I don't know. I
- 24:07feel like that's highly unlikely because the money they're gonna want is gonna be too
- 24:12crazy. That's what I was just going to say, that we know about
- 24:15the money grabbing the industry and the executives and how they want to flip shit
- 24:19the people in power, the people in control. I feel like I've never
- 24:22seen successfully a show transition from one contract to another and still be the same
- 24:27as what it used to be. That's how you know business is just shisty
- 24:33and just be stupid. Because I feel like, in simple terms, obviously
- 24:37I'm saying this from the point of view of ADO that ain't got none to
- 24:41do with these companies, but like, in simple terms, I would want
- 24:45to kind of help keep that going just because it adds so much to the
- 24:48NBA dog. You know what I'm saying, Like, you let somebody else
- 24:52pay some guys to run a show that's boosting your product, you know what
- 24:56I'm saying, Like it sounds like a win win for everybody. So I
- 25:02don't know, bro, I just hope, I don't know. I hope
- 25:06it stays somewhat intact if it has to be on ESPN or whatever. I
- 25:11just hope it it don't just die completely. A lot of people were saying
- 25:18that, you know, Ernie Johnson been at TNT since before that show,
- 25:22I believe, So, yeah, he was there work on the timeline and
- 25:26exactly he ain't leaving TNT like he's been there for so many years, and
- 25:32more than likely he ain't going nowhere if everybody leaves or whatever. So that'll
- 25:37definitely suck just not seeing Ernie without Charles, you know what I mean?
- 25:41Yeah, I think he was the best balance of those characters on there.
- 25:47It's crazy for me because like it was, it started in eighty nine,
- 25:51like that was when I was born dog eighty nine. So the show's literally
- 25:55been what I've been watching the NBA for Like, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:57Like I give priority to the TNT game since a kid, dog,
- 26:02you know what I'm saying, Like I remember who the original members were,
- 26:04because I probably didn't start watching until Shaq and Chuck around there. For sure,
- 26:07they had different people along there, but it was uh EJ and Kenny
- 26:14and then Charles came and then but they used to have different people randing me
- 26:18on there, like different players and different personalities and stuff they would be on
- 26:22the show. But dog, it's just it's been it's been such a staple
- 26:29for every NBA fan and just always hearing the It was just like you always
- 26:34felt like they were they were talking about it from the point of view that
- 26:38you would talk about it, you know what I mean, Like you watched
- 26:41first Take and things like that, where they're just coming up with arguments that
- 26:45don't even make sense, just because they gotta you know, they're just there
- 26:48to argue, and they always got to have topics, you know what I'm
- 26:51saying, and it eventually becomes the caricature of itself. But inside the NBA,
- 26:55you always felt like they were just looking at it like how the game
- 26:59should be looking that, And you know, they were credible guys, so
- 27:02you know what they was talking about. And I just as a kid,
- 27:03you're like, dang, bro, you're hearing these NBA greats talk about like,
- 27:07oh, like when you're in a game like that, you know they
- 27:11always give you the behind the scenes, like you know, when you're away,
- 27:15you know, you're not in your stadium, so you don't get the
- 27:17same kind of car service. You know, you don't get the same kind
- 27:19of treatment in the stadium, so like you don't feel as good before the
- 27:22game, like you're not as lose, you're not as warmed up. This
- 27:26is like just giving you the inside of why like certain things are important and
- 27:30certain things that they expect from people. And honestly, like I feel like
- 27:33that's what gave me all my NBA knowledge, just really hearing them talk and
- 27:37just really watching the game and understanding where they're talking about it from. And
- 27:41you could always see where the game is going just from analyzing what was already
- 27:45happening because of what they was telling you, you know what I mean.
- 27:49They just always had the game so downpacked. Like shout out to Jamal Crawford,
- 27:52Man, I like him on commentary. He's been on those broadcasts in
- 27:56the booth and he's been spinning facts and I like, I like what he's
- 28:00been saying and he's coming from that. It's always good having a player like
- 28:04fresh out the league because they always got that fresh take from a player's point
- 28:08of view, and the player's point of view is usually where like the fan
- 28:11is too, you know what I mean. Yeah, So you always feel
- 28:14like it's one of your guys in there, you know. Yo. While
- 28:18we're here on the basketball topic, Bro, did y'all see the Pacers fumble
- 28:23the bag last night? What the Pacers? Everybody's asking me, I'm not
- 28:30watching the motherfucker. I'm not gonna lie. I have zero interest in that
- 28:37series. I don't like Boston and I don't like the Pacers, like I
- 28:40don't like the Pacers from the point of view of like they're not winning,
- 28:42dog like it's not happening, like they're just everybody said it was a good
- 28:47game, though, it was a great game. Yeah, I should have
- 28:48taken it. They should have taken it. Jalen Brown hit the last minute
- 28:52three like that bought him the overtime and they ended up taking it back.
- 28:56But it was a great game. Yeah, it wasn't what I expected.
- 29:00I expected him to get stumped out, but it was nothing like that.
- 29:03I'm gonna definitely tune into some games because you know, if there's no n
- 29:07b A and that game is on, I'm gonna watch it. But it's
- 29:11definitely not not a series I'm interested in. Man, Like I'm reading my
- 29:15living room, what is that coming out on my soundbar? Not on my
- 29:29sound bar. Yeah, got the motherfuckers player, Hey, man, I
- 29:37like I like the the future of the next though. Man, I see
- 29:41them healthy, healthy. I can honestly see them winning the championship, Dog,
- 29:45Liken, the interest is there, It's real. It's not just a
- 29:51rumor. Gianni's comes through, goes there, y'all wan, Bro, Yeah,
- 29:56it's over if he's healthy, y'all won. So that'll be crazy,
- 30:02definitely, Bro. That'll be brother though, Dog, That'll be Fins,
- 30:10Minnesota wins, and then New York wins. Bro, It'll just be too
- 30:14random, like new franchises, new blood, Like, well, this is
- 30:17the first time in uh remember so it's been six years straight where six different
- 30:22teams have won and now this year is going to be a brand new team
- 30:26again. It's been the longest streak in the NBA that there hasn't been repeats
- 30:30in seven years now. Crazy. I saw something set that I think last
- 30:36year, the last year or the year before was like the first time that
- 30:40it hadn't been Lebron Curry the Rant or Kawhi that won championship in like a
- 30:48long ass time, like twenty years or something like. Dang, Bro,
- 30:51that's crazy. Why the game that was like the manning Brady Roethlisberger and one
- 31:00another. I forgot who the fourth quarterback for like ten years. It was
- 31:03either one of those quarterbacks in this room. Yeah, it's all man the
- 31:08end of it era for sure. Who y'all going for them? Were also
- 31:15going for the Wolves. Yeah, I think I'm pulling the Wolves at this
- 31:18point. I think, Bro, my guy nas Reid had me looking like,
- 31:22see you see how how you back out my claims? Right clos was
- 31:27hooping dog and they was talking about him. I heard him on the Bill
- 31:32Simmons podcast. He was talking about nos Read and he's like, Bro,
- 31:34if you watch nas Reed for like five minutes and you just never watch basketball,
- 31:40you're not hip on the game. You would think he's one of the
- 31:41best players in the league. And it's true dog like the way he be
- 31:45playing in those minutes of dog like, and he gives them everything they need
- 31:49defense, scoring like stops like bro, rebounding like yo. He is the
- 31:57sixth man of all six men. Bro, I honestly don't see them losing
- 32:01to any team. Like. I like the talent on the Mavericks, but
- 32:07I just think Minnesota is too big here. Yo. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:09like they said, they're calling at the Wizard of Oz because he gave cat
- 32:15courage and a heart. Yo butt Dog, Carl Anthony Towns Dog. He
- 32:25had a great game in that Game seven. I was like, damn,
- 32:29bro, he literally did everything that he would mess up. He did the
- 32:32opposite, like he had a I could not say anything. I'm not a
- 32:36big fan of him, but he definitely stepped up in that Game seven in
- 32:38a big way. And as soon as they won that game Dog, I
- 32:44had a card listed on eBay, Carl Anthony Towns Genesis card. It's like
- 32:47a it's a short print, so like it's very hard to get that card.
- 32:52But it's Carl Anthony Towns and it's not a rookie, so it's it's
- 32:55a random Genesis so it's rare. But it's like it's a player that nobody
- 33:00really cares about. It's been sitting on my page for like two years.
- 33:04Bro. As soon as they won that Game seven, I got the notification
- 33:08the Genesis Anthony Towns has sold to somebody in Minnie, Minnesota, Bro,
- 33:14somebody the home team was feeling froggy dog yo. Fact they won it,
- 33:20he went straight to eBay, like, let's go that's it was so fun
- 33:24I could have believed it, dog Like, I had to like double take,
- 33:28Like really, somebody from Minnesota really bought this card as soon as they
- 33:32won Game seven, He's like, I'm all in, is that's the ass
- 33:39cat? That was crazy? Man? Well yeah, bro, we pretty
- 33:46much hit all the topics that we wanted to talk about. Like, like
- 33:52I said, the TikTok been doing this thing, bro, y'all been reading
- 33:55the comments on there? Yeah, I read, but I read him too
- 33:59late. But I've been read and it's always hitten. Yeah. Yo.
- 34:01People are funny, man. People are a funny dog Like. The way
- 34:06they react to stuff is funny like and just it's very interesting seeing how people
- 34:14interpret what you say, you know what I mean, Like the way that
- 34:16their mind understands what you're saying. Like for all the clips, like different
- 34:20things we've all said, people have commented on and it's like nobody really said
- 34:25that. Sometimes I think people just writing shit just to write shit. It's
- 34:31about right, Yeah, I'm going to get into this AI shit with y'all.
- 34:37I have some crazy shit to bring in that's going to bring a lot
- 34:40in perspective. I think AI is it's going to be shoved down our throats.
- 34:52It's already. Have you noticed in your Google searches? Have you noticed
- 34:55in the comment boxes and Facebook? Have you noticed? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 35:00that is starting to have that option there, Yeah, to search for
- 35:02something. So you go to a post, you read a comment, and
- 35:07you want to dig deep in it, and they already know you do.
- 35:09So they have a button right there. Why what are these people commenting about?
- 35:13Click it. You get the whole information, all the context. It's
- 35:15gonna be everywhere, bro, and we have to prepare for it. We
- 35:20need to use that ship to our advantage. We got to get ahead of
- 35:22the curve. Hopefully next we're gonna bring out all the information to y'all.
- 35:25Yeah, fact, we're there already, yo. Really like no BS,
- 35:30I could I could create a a what's it called a process where it'll just
- 35:37do all the editing for the podcast and upload it and send it to open
- 35:39clip and do it all by itself. Yeah. No. My point more
- 35:45is that people, you're gonna have no choice but to absorb these AI tools.
- 35:52If you're going to be on social media, there's no way around it
- 35:55anymore. If you're going to use the Internet in general, you're gonna you're
- 36:00you're going to have to use AI. I thought I could just avoid it
- 36:02and disable it and not use it if I don't want to, but now
- 36:06there's no way around. I'm looking at it from the point of view of
- 36:07like how much it could help you and save you time. But then like,
- 36:12cause I'm like you, Joe, I'm thinking I was thinking about it
- 36:15from that point of view, but then you think about it, it's like,
- 36:16I'm gonna make stuff harder on myself just because I don't want to accept
- 36:21the new technology that's coming, the same way that the generation before me didn't
- 36:24want to accept the text thing and stuff like that. And we do that
- 36:28like it's nothing, you know what I'm saying, because it was normal to
- 36:30us. But then the new stuff is coming and we're like, nah,
- 36:32you know what I'm saying, when, like I said, I could probably
- 36:37already make a process that makes me not have to do a lot of menial
- 36:40tasks that I do, but I'm just being too stubborn to figure it out.
- 36:45So that's definitely a kick in to ask to myself right now, like,
- 36:49bro, I need to start digging into this stuff AO and figuring out
- 36:52how it can help me have a more productive day. Big facts, there's
- 36:57so much time that we spend on bs do and if you're telling me you're
- 37:00coming up with a way to automate that so you don't even got to do
- 37:05it or worry about it, and it's gonna do it as good or better
- 37:07than I would do it. Go ahead, bro, Yeah, there is
- 37:12a there's a gentleman at my job who wants to automate every single thing we
- 37:17do. But at the same time, that means we don't need the people
- 37:22who do it anymore. So exactly, yeah, you can't take these people
- 37:27out of business. Uh, but it's out there and there's gonna be a
- 37:30thin That's what I'm saying. It's gonna be a thin line one day that
- 37:34the ship that you do you don't need a person to do it anymore.
- 37:38It's already even if it's yourself, it's already happening with the the you know,
- 37:44the jobs that require less technical skills, Like look, if you pull
- 37:46up to a drive through right now, you know not I wouldn't say nine
- 37:50times, probably six times out of ten it's an automated system now yeah,
- 37:54real, yeah, they have it now where you can put up to a
- 37:57drive through and you say what they want, what you want, and there's
- 38:00a machine talking back to you creating the order, and then when you get
- 38:04to the window, there's a person there to collect the bread. But yeah,
- 38:07I've seen that multiple times for different restaurants. Windy's has it a lot
- 38:12of different places having now. And even if you go to like a subway
- 38:15with a drive through, that thing has a screen like you drive through like
- 38:20you're touching the screen and build touch your sub and everything yourself, like it's
- 38:22not like anybody talking to you or nothing. Yeah, and they've had that
- 38:27for a lot of years. Bro. Probably like no, lie, at
- 38:30least five five, five to ten years, Bro that that subway screen thing
- 38:35probably like five robot. I think there's gonna be a lot of people looking
- 38:40for work man it already? Is it already? Is? Yeah? The
- 38:45fact that that's one thing that really sucks about our generation in particular, that
- 38:50we're in the generation where you can't just do one thing and thrive. You
- 38:52know what I'm saying. You gotta do multiple things to make what somebody would
- 39:00have made doing one thing twenty five years ago. You know, it's better
- 39:02to be a Jack of all trades and the master of no exactly. It's
- 39:08wild man. We were talking about a little bit in the chat too,
- 39:10like how all the all the stuff that we were striving for by the time
- 39:15we got to that that ended the finish line. It's like, oh,
- 39:17all the rules changed in this world, so it doesn't it doesn't work the
- 39:22same way. Like it's like, wait, hold on a second. Now,
- 39:25now that I did all the work, you're switching it up on me.
- 39:29No thanks, Like I'll be paying Social Security when I know it ain't
- 39:32them for me? What kind of stuff? Crazy? Bro? Crazy?
- 39:36Now? Yeah, we're definitely in a in a unique generation and unique timeframe
- 39:45of just like the stuff that happened like in the world even you know what
- 39:50I'm saying, Like we're gonna have some like just the transitions that we've been
- 39:54through, Like when we talk when we're older, we're going to be like
- 40:00we're going to be the people that were there through like for example, like
- 40:04the people that were there through the first telephones, the first time they had
- 40:07electricities TV. You know what I'm saying, first TV, first refrigerators,
- 40:12Like like there's people, you know, there's people that grew up in that
- 40:15period where they just had the first of stuff. That's like a staple now,
- 40:19you know what I'm saying, Like you can't even imagine it not being
- 40:21there, And we're going to be part of that generation too, Like yo,
- 40:24we was there when the first cell phones came out, Like before that,
- 40:28nobody had a cell phone snake on it. I've seen something the other
- 40:32day that said no, no, I'm sorry. It was a podcast I
- 40:36was listening to. It was like a Spotify Conspiracies podcast. They was talking
- 40:40about some some UFO sidings in Phoenix and they were like, oh, you
- 40:45know, giving the backstory on it, and they were like, yeah,
- 40:47this sounds like something that might have been in like the seventies or the sixties,
- 40:51like some old story, but it was merely three decades ago in nineteen
- 40:57ninety seven. I was like, what did you just say decades? And
- 41:01then they followed the sentence with nineteen ninety seven. I could it was like
- 41:07those two things in my head didn't compute at first, and I'm like,
- 41:10bro, yeah, it's been twenty seven years, like what times. I
- 41:15was like, I was listening to those ceilings and he was Whenne was talking
- 41:17about Windows Vista and I ball like Jalen Rose, I was like, this
- 41:22was is crazy. It's a long time ago. I feel like I just
- 41:25heard this like a couple of years ago. Windows Vista crazy. Yeah,
- 41:30yeah, man, definitely was the time. That was the time. Bro.
- 41:37Well yeah, man, anything y'all want to leave him with what's what
- 41:42games you've been playing? We'll leave him with that. Anybody been on some
- 41:45new games, mainly just Madden Bro Madden in two K, I mean and
- 41:50duty. Oh what's up with the Madden game? What does Quincy have to
- 41:54do to be able to be on camera too? Joe, Oh, let's
- 41:58do it. You can stream two here right like the screen. No,
- 42:04So what we're gonna do is Quincy is gonna have his own stream. I'm
- 42:07gonna have my own stream. You could just mute one of us and watch
- 42:12both of us, so you'll hear both of us and just you listen to
- 42:15one of our fees, but you'll see both of us on the screen,
- 42:16and we'll both be you'll have okay, and then put and then put put
- 42:21the game screen as like, share that and then you can stream on stream
- 42:24yard you. That's what I'm saying. I'll add the I'll add the the
- 42:30window. You know what I mean, share the window. I'll just put
- 42:34one of your windows there and have you know everybody's there on the screen.
- 42:37You can see him calling his players. You can see me calling my place,
- 42:39but we can't see each other calling each other's place. Yeah, we
- 42:44gotta set up a test run, dog. Yeah, I'm ready, Bro.
- 42:47I'm gonna be be home all day Monday. Chill. Want to be
- 42:51in my computer. Oh yeah, that's a that's a good idea of Monday.
- 42:54Dog. When we do the actual game, I'm getting dressed up.
- 42:59I have I'm gonna have on top. Bro, I'm gonna be clean.
- 43:04You definite gotta be holding the mic too. I got a mic right here,
- 43:07Dog, I got that. You know I got that mic already.
- 43:08Hey Yo, But I'm gonna be official, Dog, I'm gonna be commentating
- 43:15my ass off. Bro, let's do it. Let's do it. I
- 43:16might. I'm gonna see if I might even get a cold commentator so I
- 43:20get you know what I'm saying. We can make an official official get a
- 43:23play by play guy. I'll do color and I'll get a play by play
- 43:25guy, because then you can capture each of our celebrations each of our disappointments,
- 43:32it's gonna be it's gonna be good, each of our reactions. I'm
- 43:35downats, Let's try to see that Monday Day, Monday for sure, we're
- 43:37gonna run the test, and y'all stay tuned and stay but at Captain at
- 44:28not a not not not note after not not after not be nothing after a
