- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherri Mackey, and it's time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always, I invite
- 0:05Speaker 1: you to join along with me in prayer. You know,
- 0:08Speaker 1: sometimes you have situations where you feel like you're being
- 0:11Speaker 1: attacked or somebody is saying negative things about your name
- 0:14Speaker 1: or your character, and you feel like, Lord, just what
- 0:17Speaker 1: am I to do? Maybe you pray about it. and
- 0:19Speaker 1: you let it go. Father God, in the mighty, matchless
- 0:22Speaker 1: name of Jesus, we come before you today asking you
- 0:25Speaker 1: to fight the battles we can't fight on our own. Lord,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you see every situation. You know every heart. You know
- 0:31Speaker 1: the truth behind every lie, every accusation, every misunderstanding, and
- 0:35Speaker 1: every injustice we've experienced.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Lord, you be our vindicator.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Your word declares in Isaiah 54, 17 that no weapon
- 0:44Speaker 1: formed against us shall prosper. Father, when people misrepresent us,
- 0:49Speaker 1: When our intentions are misunderstood, when our names are dragged
- 0:53Speaker 1: through conversations we are not even present to defend ourselves in,
- 0:57Speaker 1: give us the grace to remain silent when silence is
- 1:00Speaker 1: wise and the wisdom to speak when speaking is necessary. Lord,
- 1:05Speaker 1: help us resist the temptation to fight every battle, Lord.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Defend every decision and respond to every accusation.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Remind us that we don't.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Have to prove ourselves to anybody. You know our hearts,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you know our motives, and you know the truth. Father,
- 1:19Speaker 1: fight for us. without allowing the battle to change us
- 1:23Speaker 1: into people you never called us to be when we're
- 1:25Speaker 1: mistreated help us not to become mistreaters when we're lied
- 1:29Speaker 1: on keep dishonesty out of our mouths when we're betrayed
- 1:32Speaker 1: keep bitterness from taking root into our hearts when people
- 1:34Speaker 1: disappoint us help us not to lose our ability to
- 1:37Speaker 1: love Lord we admit that sometimes it's difficult to love
- 1:40Speaker 1: people who have hurt us it's difficult to pray for
- 1:43Speaker 1: people who have caused us pain it's difficult to wish
- 1:46Speaker 1: others well when we feel they wished us harm But
- 1:49Speaker 1: your word tells us in Matthew 5, 44, to love
- 1:52Speaker 1: our enemies, to pray for those who persecute us. So, Father,
- 1:55Speaker 1: give us a love that does not depend.
- 1:58Speaker 2: On how people treat us. Give us the strength.
- 2:00Speaker 1: To forgive without pretending the hurt never happened. Give us
- 2:03Speaker 1: the wisdom to establish boundaries without harboring hatred. Teach us
- 2:08Speaker 1: that we can release people from our hearts without giving
- 2:10Speaker 1: them continued access to our lives. Lord, keep our hearts
- 2:14Speaker 1: clean when our names are being discussed unfairly. Keep our
- 2:17Speaker 1: spirits humble when the truth finally comes to light. And
- 2:20Speaker 1: when you choose to defend us publicly, let us never
- 2:24Speaker 1: use our vindication as an opportunity to humiliate someone else.
- 2:28Speaker 1: We don't want revenge, God.
- 2:29Speaker 2: We want peace. We don't want bitterness, God. We want freedom.
- 2:32Speaker 1: We don't want to repay evil for evil. We want
- 2:35Speaker 1: to reflect your love. Father, remind us that vindication does
- 2:39Speaker 1: not always mean everybody will apologize or admit they're wrong.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Sometimes victory is being able to move forward without carrying
- 2:47Speaker 1: a weight of what happened. Sometimes victory is refusing to
- 2:50Speaker 1: let another person's behavior steal our joy, our character, or
- 2:54Speaker 1: our peace. Help us to leave the outcome in your
- 2:57Speaker 1: hands while continuing to do what is right. Let our
- 3:00Speaker 1: lives speak louder than the accusations. Let our character testify
- 3:04Speaker 1: to the work you're doing within us. And when we're
- 3:06Speaker 1: tempted to retaliate, remind us that we belong to you, God.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Today, Lord, we release the offense. We release the need
- 3:13Speaker 2: to have the last word.
- 3:14Speaker 1: We release the burden of making everybody understand our side.
- 3:18Speaker 2: You are our defender. You are our refuge. You are
- 3:21Speaker 2: the righteous judge, and we will continue to walk in love.
- 3:24Speaker 2: We will continue to walk in integrity. We will continue to.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Walk in peace, not because everyone has treated us fairly,
- 3:30Speaker 1: but because we refuse to let unfair treatment determine who
- 3:33Speaker 1: we become. Father, vindicate us in your way and in
- 3:37Speaker 1: your time, and give us the grace to remain loving
- 3:40Speaker 1: while we wait.
- 3:41Speaker 2: In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen, amen, amen.
