Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_03: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to another great episode of Crushing Strongholds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_03: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power, trauma into triumph, in a place where we get to expose the lives of the enemy.
- 0:13SPEAKER_03: And how do we do that?
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: We do that through testimonies of faith and speaking with people that have overcome strongholds of their own, where they have been able to just conquer and divide.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: And today I have a wonderful guest, just very pleasant and kind and excited to finally have this lady on.
- 0:31SPEAKER_03: She's been very patient with me in our scheduling conflict, but I'm just so thankful that she's been able to join us today.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: This um lady is a life coach, a spiritual midwife, and a founder of New Wings Coaching, and host of the Hope Unlocked podcast as well.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: And her name is Kristen Kurtz.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: So, Kristen, welcome on.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, Mickey.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited to be here.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: And it's it's like divine timing, right?
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Today is the right day for for us to chat.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: So I always say there's no wrong appointments, usually.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Sometimes things shift and it's like, okay, well, this is the perfect day, right?
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: Why don't you tell our listeners a little bit about who you are and and what you do?
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: So the who I am, um, the Lord first and foremost calls me a woman of wonder, which is fun because the acronym is WOW.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I find myself just saying WOW all the time.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Um, going back in the beginning of my story, I wouldn't have said that a lot.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: I was uh I went through a lot, but coming to who I am now, I get to be this woman of wonder who's like this childlike wonder that's kind of been infused in me again.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: And that's the bee and then the do, as you mentioned.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Um I get to be like a prophetic life coach, a spiritual midwife.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I I wrote a book recently, which is Wilds.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: It it was published last year called Fit for the Call.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: And then the podcast is just another whole story in and of itself.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: So um, speaking, words, those are kind of the do of who I am.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: I love that you said the wow factor because um actually I've been working on a book called Wow, the women women of wisdom.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: So when you said that, I was like, wow, that's so cool.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: So I think that women um have a lot of wisdom to offer.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: And in my book, I actually I actually interviewed a hundred women and they had all the same 10 questions.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: And I wanted to do um the statistics on the wisdom of that women had based on those 10 questions.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: And I think that women hold a lot of wisdom.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: And one of those questions I will share, I won't go too into it because it'll come out in the book, but um, was who was the strongest influencer of a woman in your life?
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: And so do you have a woman that um has been a good influence in your life?
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, there's I feel like there's so many.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and especially I have so many just very spirit-led friends that I've just been so blessed to meet like around the world.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Um I I feel like there's definitely like some biblical like women that have given me a lot of wisdom.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: And I I feel like one of them, the main one, is Esther.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: She was brave, she was bold, she went against, you know, the the culture in many ways.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: She was trafficked to then, you know, we we know that she was trafficked to get into the position that the Lord had her to be in.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I just look to all these biblical characters like Sarah waiting to have that baby that she was desperately waiting for.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Um, so I've I like to look to the biblical women first.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I I I was the oldest of three girls growing up and found myself sometimes in a position of almost being more of the parent.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Um so I've just I had to grow up pretty quick.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And um, because I moved a lot, there was just a lot of um shifting with people that would be in my life.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I had, you know, a couple teachers I remember growing up that were great.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I mean, there's a but there's been a lot of people that have been so great to come alongside me in in those hours of need, you know.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: I think it's it I I do think it is difficult to pinpoint just one.
- 4:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and say one right now.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: How do you narrow just one down, narrow down to one person and then then like not you know include or leave someone?
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: I know that's what I'm doing.
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: I'm like so a lot.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so I was like, so I I found that that out of all the questions I asked, um, out of the 10 question panel was that one was the most difficult one because, like you said, there are so many women that we get wisdom from.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: And I do believe that we we do gain a lot of wisdom from one another.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Um and we do especially gain women wisdom from the women of the Bible.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: Um I particularly particularly like Ruth.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Um I love Esther as well.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: Um, and um there, I mean, there's just so many.
- 5:05SPEAKER_03: And even Eve, even though Eve made her mistakes, you know, we we you know, we get to live and learn from her.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: And so um I think there's value in in all women, you know, obviously, in that we all have um great um wisdom that we have walked through.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: And I think, like you said, those divine appointments that we've walked through are some of the things that actually developed us into the wisdom that we carry and that we share.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: And you've been an older sister, I bet your sisters probably think of you as, you know, like a source of wisdom to them, probably.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: You're like, I don't know.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: I don't I mean, I I would think so.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: One would hope, right?
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: The wow, another wow there is it's amazing.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and I, you know, a lot of times if you know, if we do talk about wisdom, a lot of the wisdom that we gain has actually come from a lot of the the challenges that we've walked through.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: So with that being mine and this being crushing strongholds, do you have um I don't know what that is?
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Um do you have um a story or or an episode that you would like to share with us of an actual stronghold that you actually had to overcome to get where God brought you to today?
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, there's many, but I think the main one I want to talk about today is, you know, I don't want to get too much into like the growing up years in the past and all the things, but a lot of trauma, a lot of things that just caused me to just live a very Russian roulette, you know, party life.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: I didn't grow up in the church, so I I didn't have that, you know, foundation.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: And um got into drugs, alcohol, smoked two packs a day, which like I literally was living a rush roulette life.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: I got a DWI and I was 20, uh, and I still kept driving.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: And and thankfully, you know, there wasn't any, you know, major issues that came out of that, or you know, worst case scenario with driving, but um I I really hit like a rock bottom when I was about 20 in the 20, between 24 and 25, about a year after I got married, and um I didn't know a way out.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: I I just thought, okay, well, this is my life, but I also wanted a different life.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And coming from you know, generational lines of you know, addiction, alcohol, um, a lot of trauma, just a lot of things in the past generations that didn't really get cut off.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I didn't know how to experience that.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: And then God rescued me, truly.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Like he got a hold of me when I was 25.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: And talk about a stronghold being broken, like he literally that moment I accepted Christ, it was like it washed away.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: It literally broke off.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I quit smoking, I quit doing drugs, I quit drinking.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And um, the last thing that I had a hard time getting rid of was my mouth, um, just the trucker, the trucker mouth that I didn't realize that it was a problem.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that it, you know, it was just part of who I was, right?
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And um, so that was like a miracle.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Um, people didn't even recognize me.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: My husband had no idea who I was, where I went.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: His party wife like completely disappeared and was literally transformed.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: I I like to call it like a Saul to Paul conversion, and thankfully I didn't kill anybody.
- 8:43SPEAKER_03: Thank goodness too.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: Now, how did that affect your husband?
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, I know you talked about that a little bit, but did it did that help your guys' relationship grow?
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: Um, did it did it kind of like put a little wedge in there for a little bit and tell things how to get, you know, until you had to figure some things out or yeah, it was it was very challenging at first.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Um he thought I actually was part of a cult.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: He thought I I got myself involved in a cult and just just couldn't understand the the dramatic like shift that I was experiencing.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Um I had even gone to buy him a Bible thinking, oh my gosh, we're gonna have this great life of like we're gonna both experience the the goodness here.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: And he didn't want anything to do with it at all.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: And you know, it's it's been, you know, I'm I'm still praying him in, honestly.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: I'm 23 years in, still praying him in.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: And I'm seeing movement um in his heart over the years.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: There's been a lot of movement.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Um, but that's that's been a very challenging part of this walk.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: You know, I I talked about Sarah and and her waiting.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: I feel like a lot of my life has been what I call weight training.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: I actually have a chapter in my book called Weight Training.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Um, kind of a play on words with, you know, working out weight training.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, I remember, I don't even remember, I don't remember the moment, but I do remember asking the Lord for patience.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: And we often are given opportunities to be patient when we ask for those things.
- 10:22unknown: Yes.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I had to learn that too the hard way.
- 10:25SPEAKER_03: You know, you if if you ask for God to give you patience, he's going to give you things to be patient for.
- 10:30unknown: Yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: And that's kind of when we ask for that, we kind of don't want him to do that.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: But it in in the learning process, we need him to.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: There is an eagle that just flew by.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: That was so cool.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: Ah, I love birds.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: I I love birds, they're amazing.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: But I think like um as you're walking through the this your your spiritualness, I could just see the um uh the struggle of when you're a certain way and then all of a sudden you're not that way anymore, people go, What you know, that what happened?
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: Where did that person go?
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: And I know that um when you're walking out your your Christian walk in your life, um sometimes taking the same people with you is hard because you don't want to, you know, definitely don't, especially if you're married, you're not gonna let them go.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Obviously, you love them.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Um but that waiting to, you know, hope that God will, you know, get a hold of their heart and that transition will happen.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: Um, do you guys go to church?
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: Do you go to I mean, I'm assuming you do, but I don't know.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Well, and I will say, um what I have learned over the years is I I I even say to people, like, if God could get a hold of me, he can get a hold of anybody.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: It's just a matter of time, right?
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: So I've had to have like just a lot of surrender over it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Cause at first I was just like super um, you know, I was fired up and I'm still fired up, but I was fired up to a point of like, everybody needs this, and they're like not inch, and I had to remember, like prior to me getting saved, I was like, the words that would come out of my mouth if anybody ever tried to mention God or anything was very much, you know, don't talk to me about this.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I mean, for for me to be that like back up, don't talk to me about, you know, God, don't talk to me about anything.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: I I don't want anything to do with it.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: And then to have this new creation, um, I actually had to distance myself from a lot of the friends that I was partying with.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: I I didn't, I stopped going to bars, I stopped going to parties because I had to have this time of just this sanctification.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: It was part of the sanctification process, right?
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Where I I couldn't be around it because I I knew that um I didn't have any temptation for it, but it was like I just had to be separated from that life.
- 13:00SPEAKER_03: That's good.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, you're you're lucky because some people do have that temptation, like they have to steer clear always.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: Um, a good friend of mine says that um he enjoyed that life.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: He liked it.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: He looked, he liked getting high, he liked getting drunk.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: Um, he said, if he were to drink one beer, he has to drink all the beers.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: So he's like, so I know I yeah, I can't drink anymore.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: And he's like, but I know, you know, like when he goes to family gatherings and they're drinking beer, he he he's like, I know I just can't have any.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: You know, I just have to tell myself I can't have any.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Um and he goes, because if I do, then I can't control what's gonna happen next.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: I I know what's gonna happen.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna stay in control.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: And so he refrains from it altogether because he's not able to um just be able to just you know be mo in moderation of anything.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: He's like, there's nothing moderate about me.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: You know, I think that as you go through that, it's good that people can recognize it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: Um, some people could do it, some people, you know, cannot.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: And um what have you.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: Um back in my day when I used to drink, I used to, you know, the same thing.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: I would go months and months and months, and everybody be like, How are you doing?
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: I said, I really don't need to drink.
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: You know, I like to drink sometimes, it's fun.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: I said, but I don't, I don't, I don't need that all the time in my life, you know.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: But I was also a Christian really young.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: Um, but didn't I still have the generational curses on me, you know, and I mean, you know, my mom got me drunk the first time I ever got drunk, so I was like, okay.
- 14:27SPEAKER_03: You know, yeah, and then and that was her thing.
- 14:29SPEAKER_03: She was like, you can get drunk, you just have to do it at home with me.
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: So now she had a new friend to hang out with and party with, you know, so she wasn't drinking alone anymore for a while.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: Um, and I just didn't I I seen enough of that that I didn't really want all of that for my life.
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: And I didn't mind doing it once in a while with her, but I didn't want it to be who I what it was gonna make me become.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: And so I'm glad that God gave me He still gave me free will to still test the waters and and do it, but and and stay responsible because some people can't do it responsibly.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they just can't, they just take off with it.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: So though, but I I think as long as you're aware of it and you know it and you have that control, it's okay.
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: But if you for any moment feel like you're out of that control, you need to not do it at all.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: And I think this is a good conversation too, because if somebody's listening today and they're like maybe they're wondering, like, well, what did out of control look like for you?
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Because I I couldn't stop.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Like, if there was an open bottle, like I might drink an entire bottle of liquor because and I would stay up all night.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: For some people, if they were drinking, they would go to sleep.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Like my husband, he'd have a few beers and he'd be like, Oh, I'm done, I'm going to bed.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, come on, let's go.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And I I just like like your friend, I I had a lot of fun.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I was I was very fun.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: And then I learned after I got saved, I'm actually still fun.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: And I don't have to drink.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Um, but I I I have discovered, you know, over time it took a long time because this was 20, 23 years ago.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Um, I was saved.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: So it's been a long time since that moment.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I I can have like a glass of wine here and there, and I don't have a desire to fall back into those old patterns, you know.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: I have boys who are, you know, young men who are 18 and 21.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: And I've just wanted to be like a really good example to them and help break that, you know, generational line of addiction and you know, other things that came from before.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: I like your website where we talk about, you know, the transformation of breakthrough and how I mean, and this is obvious, this is a really uh, you know, an area that people um I know struggle with.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: I don't I I think most people I talk to have been in this realm at some point or another.
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: And so um as a transformational and a life coach, um, when you're helping someone to break through an obstacle like crushing strongholds, um strongholds are spiritual realmed um things that keep us hostage.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: And then there's the unspiritual realm of just the day-to-day grind things that keep us, you know, like what's holding us back, you know.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: Um is it being, are we procrastinating, or are we just being lazy?
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: Are we just being, are we just, you know, or or is it something more deep?
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: Is it more spiritual?
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: And um, so I was, you know, as I was looking through your website and stuff, and I was looking through your transformational breakthrough and and what that what that looks like um with this situation, can you share with our listeners like what if they are sitting there listening to us right now and they're like, man, I I am really struggling.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: I do want this breakthrough.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: What advice would you would you be willing to share?
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: I I'm not trying to give away the coaching because I try not to do that because I want them to come to you, but um um to say, hey, this would be a good first step.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Like you, you know, you're trying to give people the keys, right?
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: You know, that's part of your what you do.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Um, the key to be free.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: So what would you suggest?
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, uh I'm gonna just kind of bring in a situation that I had even with a client last night where we're we discovered that there's fear that is kind of keeping her from moving forward in something.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: And I think fear is a is a big, it's a word that's used a lot.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: It's in the Bible all the time.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Like it's I think there's 365 verses about fear.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: And um, I recognized, um, I feel like I'm people call me like a wordsmith, so I'm often seeing words within words, and and I'm I there's a point to where I'm going with this.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: And I looked at the word, I saw it, I heard it, and I I can often like almost see like a word, like in you know, just it it just kind of like come like as a I'm kind of a seer slash feeler, so I'm feeling and seeing and and doing all the things, and and this word pops up and it was like small F big E small A big R.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And I'm like ear is a fear.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Have you seen that before?
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: Well it it just it just had us go down this pathway and what I'm where I'm going with this is what are we taking in?
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: Like what are what are we listening to?
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: What are we seeing?
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: What are we who are we listening to?
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: And what lies are we letting in?
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: What truth are we letting in?
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: So if we're constantly, you know, being fed by the news, getting fed by, you know, whether it's social media, maybe you follow great people, maybe you don't, are you are you getting truth in you every day?
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Like, and to take a moment, honestly, I used to do accounting.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: So to take a moment and write down on one side and ask the Lord, like, what lies am I believing on one side?
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: And the other side, have, you know, ask the Lord, like, what is the truth in this matter?
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: So, you know, give me an example, like what lie might you be believing if you want to share?
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like, okay, so like um a lie that I believed most of my life was that I would never measure up because it was spoken over me quite a bit.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: And no matter how much I tried to measure up, that little lie would come back into my head and say, but you're never gonna measure up.
- 20:31SPEAKER_03: You're the never gonna, never gonna.
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: It wasn't about the measuring up part because we we do get measured and we do get weighed on different things in our lives.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: And and um every step that we take, you know, to the positive, it is is a measure up.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: The word measure up means you're moving up.
- 20:48SPEAKER_03: And so as we grow and we we we conquer, we we are measuring up.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: But that lie that would come back to me would be like, you're never gonna measure up.
- 20:59SPEAKER_03: You will never get to that.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: So if I if I have a goal from here to here, I can get to here, but never to here, because you're never gonna measure up to the up part.
- 21:09SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, wow.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: And I think about Peter, you know, walking on the water with Jesus.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: And we know that we can't operate in faith and fear at the same time.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: It's just impossible.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: You cannot operate in the two.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: And when I think about the fear that Peter must have felt in that moment, it wasn't that he had lack in faith of Jesus.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: He had he had an overwhelming amount of fear that came over him and he started to sink.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: And, you know, and even though Jesus said what little faith you had, I kind of wondered why Jesus didn't say, What are you afraid of?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: You know, because it wasn't a better coaching question, right?
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: No, and I was like, you know, he he did have faith, but he took his eyes off the faith and he allowed the attachment of fear to pull him down.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: And because you cannot have both.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: And I always thought to myself, why but Jesus knew that he didn't lack faith.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: Jesus needed him to see that it was the fear, it wasn't the faith that was withholding him.
- 21:59SPEAKER_03: But he brought Brought it to him, hey, what little faith you have if you're gonna, you know, if you're gonna run to this run back to fear, then you don't have so much faith.
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: You need to be clinging to the faith and not the fear.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Like you said, when you write it down on one side of the column to the other side, what do you write down?
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: Write down your fear, write down your faith.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: What's stronger?
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: And like when you said the word never, well, that's not vocabulary that we're gonna hear from Holy Spirit.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: It's not vocabulary we're gonna hear from like the enemy.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: That's a listening.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: We're gonna hear that from the enemy.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: You're never gonna add up, you're never gonna do this.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: You you're a failure, you know, all of the the things that don't edify you, like in what the Lord would would speak over you that call you higher, like that, those are words that are just literally trying to ground you.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: And when we talk about like leveling up, I think of you know, even when I got started in business, like the butterfly was like my mascot.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I love just the transformation of a butterfly.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: And think of before that wild transformation journey happens, the caterpillar is literally stuck on the ground.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have wings, it it can't move.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: It it never could fly without wings, right?
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: And then it goes through this wild transformation process.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: If you guys have never like checked into like what happens in a cocoon, it literally like liquefies and then it comes out into this whole new creation.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: And I just I feel like it so epitomize epitomizes.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Is that is that a word?
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: I'm making a word.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: It is epitomizes.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Do you ever say words and you're like, oh, that's an interesting word?
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Um, just our our you know, new creation in Christ and the journey we get to go on.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: And the butterfly knows that it can fly.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: It doesn't go back to that life of just sitting on the ground.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: And the enemy's gonna try.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I we all every day, like there's lies coming through that we have to know like, is this truth or is this a lie?
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And be able to discern so that we keep moving forward.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Too many are just, you know, I I like to kind of attribute, like, let's just say you're at a baseball game.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Some players are playing the game and others are just benched, they're benching themselves.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: And I I I think like I want to get to the end of my life and be like, I did everything he called me to do, even though I had to push through, like Peter.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: I've got times that I'm like, you really want me to do this?
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Like what?
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: You know, podcast?
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you want to move me to a podcast?
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: That was me.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: I was like, Lord, do you remember that dude Moses in the Bible?
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, are you sure?
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: You know, like you God, are you sh are you sure?
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Are you talking to me, Lord?
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: Are you Lord?
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Are you talking to me?
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there was there was fear for sure.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: There was fear the first time I hit record.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: There was fear the first time, you know.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: So there are things, you know, we're gonna experience that feeling of fear, but is it gonna stop you?
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: I I like to say that there are generational implications on your yes.
- 25:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I agree with that.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 25:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree 100% with that.
- 25:33SPEAKER_03: That that that's that's very, very powerful, actually, that you just said that because sometimes we don't but we don't we don't stop to recognize that sometimes.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: So we we try to we try to sift through the muck and the mire to figure out what it is, but it's just that generational um um part of us that that that is that who it that is who we are, you know.
- 25:54SPEAKER_03: And that's where we came from.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: That was our upper hands.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: And see, when we were brought up a certain way, that's kind of you know how God allowed us to be created to become who we are.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, because I I know they say, you know, God formed us in in our mother's womb.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: And and he did.
- 26:09SPEAKER_03: And God knew exactly like he knew Esther was going to be trafficked in order to be where she ended up becoming.
- 26:14SPEAKER_03: And look how she handled it.
- 26:16SPEAKER_03: She handled it gracefully, actually.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: She didn't go all, you know, you know, sporadically crazy like some, you know, like some of us probably I would.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, like I know how I would act if I was trafficked.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: I would not probably act like Esther.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: No.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would be like, you know, I don't think so, you know, but um you know, when we get stepped in in like podcasting, when God said, you know, you're gonna be a podcaster, and I started laughing.
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: I would I even told my daughter, my oldest daughter, I said, I I think I'm gonna be a podcaster.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: And she laughed out loud.
- 26:47SPEAKER_03: And she said, No, you're not.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: You don't even like your voice, you don't like your picture taken, you don't like, you don't like any of that kind of stuff.
- 26:56SPEAKER_03: And I said, I know, but it's weird, but I really feel like God's calling me to be a podcaster.
- 27:00SPEAKER_03: And she's like, No, he's not, Mom.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: No, he's not.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, no, I really feel like he is.
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: And then like God was leading me.
- 27:07SPEAKER_03: And um the next thing I know, I mean, I did it, and when I did it, she couldn't believe it.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: She was like, you know, you know, and and she was really proud of me for doing it because I got over a hurdle that she didn't think I could overcome that fear that I always had, you know, of being never enough to be able to stand up and to have a conversation and talk and say things.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: And and like when I started writing my book, which I'm almost done with, um, which started also this whole journey, it's called hide and seek and what have you.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: But I told her I was like, she's my editor, she's she's a book author, and she's my editor.
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: So she's reading it and and God's touching her life through my testimony.
- 27:45SPEAKER_03: And she's calling me, she's like, Mom, I had no idea.
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: Like, mom, mom, mom.
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, I'm like, wow, I didn't think it was gonna be effective like that, but it's it was effective to her because she's editing it.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: She's like, other than this little part right here, she's like, Oh my gosh, mom, I don't even know what to say right now.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: And it just blew me away.
- 28:04SPEAKER_03: And then I then I got my my coach, Rory, you know, that you know, and Rory Piquette, everybody, yeah, that's that's the two the go-to guy for coaching.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: But anyhow, um, he's like, if you don't push play, because I recorded over and over and over again, I hated every one of them.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: I probably had 40 recordings at least, and I deleted them.
- 28:23SPEAKER_03: And he was like, Stop deleting them, just push play, or just you know, send it.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: You know, I was like, No, because it sounds so stupid.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: And he's like, No, it doesn't, you just think it does because you got that thought in that your mind that you're never going to measure up.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: He's like, You're a natural, and I go, No, I'm not.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: He's like, Yes, you are, just stop arguing with me.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, like I said, he's super patient with with people.
- 28:46SPEAKER_03: And he could tell that I was extremely terrified to to push that play button, like you said, it was terrifying.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: And I mean, just kind of thinking of um, if I could just go back to kind of that moment where where you told your daughter, um, and this isn't for everybody, like this, this could be a whole this could be a whole conversation.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Um, but I've learned over time.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: So this aspect of being like a spiritual midwife, the the women that I've been so blessed to work with, like there's things that the Lord is calling us to that, you know, we have to be really discerning of who we share what we're doing the thing with, especially like for me personally, I didn't tell anybody.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: I might have, I might have told one person, maybe two, that I knew was gonna like intercede for me because I knew like the amount of warfare that happened once I gave my yes was crazy.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Like the amount of things that tried to stop me was crazy.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: So had I heard, and this is just me, my own story personally, like people are like, oh no, I could never see you doing that.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Like, and there's all this stuff happening, I might have what I call, you know, as being this midwife, like self-aborted this thing.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: So I just want to like pull that in a little bit into the conversation of sometimes there's things that the Lord gives us that like just be really discerning of like when you release what you're doing and who you share it with.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: For me, it was just very kind of like this, it was very hidden, like that beginning part of your book.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: It was a very hidden thing, and it was like, ta-da! We have a podcast.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: And they're like, wait, what?
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Like, what?
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: You did what?
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: And by that time, because I was just like the Lord was just ministering to me the whole time, even though I was going through a lot to get to the point where it it launched.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and it's and it's kind of been like that my whole life.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Like, I always say to people, like, nothing has ever come easy.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: There's there's been a journey to breakthrough, and I'm I'm very tenacious.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: So I feel like because of all these opportunities for perseverance, I have this very strong persevering spirit in me that then carries over into the people I get to meet and talk to because I just want to see everybody experience that for themselves, you know what I mean?
- 31:28SPEAKER_03: Yes, I I 100%.
- 31:30SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: I actually love that.
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: And and and because so like when I started doing this podcasting myself too, um, I you know, again, I was terrified, but I but I had been sitting at Jesus' feet for three years.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: I I so so I I I shared a little bit of my story, but um I told her I'd take care of my grandma for six years, but just before that, um in 2019, my mom passed away unexpectedly, and I was taking care I took care of her for 15 years and she just died.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Um she'd been diagnosed early on with um dementia, but she was just at the very early stages, so that isn't what make that what killed her, she got sick.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: And we just didn't expect it.
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: And it sent me down this spiraling whirlwind to straight into my own little pit, my little hide-and-seek pit, you know.
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: Like when I was a kid, I used to hide in a closet, so that's kind of what my book is about.
- 32:21SPEAKER_03: But and I was just terrified.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: I didn't know what to do, I didn't understand, I was mad at God, I was mad at the world, I didn't I didn't know what to do.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: And um, I reached out and I got a coach and um from a gal that I had gone to church with who had coached me before.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: And even though we had both moved to completely across different states, I I got in touch with her and I said, I I need I need you to coach me.
- 32:43SPEAKER_03: I need some help, I need to know what to do.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: I'm spiritually being strangled to death and I don't know what to do.
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: And she said, You need to get the feet at Jesus and you need to sit and you need to work on your faith because your faith is so so frail and and that you can't even stand up for anything, you know.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: And so she worked on me, but it was wonderful.
- 33:03SPEAKER_03: She was a great coach and and I I loved her.
- 33:06SPEAKER_03: She was very tutorive and she was very like stringent, and she said, I'm gonna tell you what to do and you're gonna do it.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: And if you don't, then don't call me.
- 33:12SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Wow, that's pretty bold, you know, because she's like, Don't waste my time.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: You know, I don't want to waste yours, don't waste mine.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: And I love I I love that kind of you know, people that behave like that because you know that that told me that she knows her value in herself.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she has a lot of value in herself, and she's like, My time is important to me, and I'm not gonna have you or anybody else waste it.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: And I'm giving you my time, so don't waste my time.
- 33:34SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Wow, I've been used that in my coaching.
- 33:37SPEAKER_03: I think I'm gonna borrow that, you know.
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: Well, that was before I didn't know I was gonna start coaching, but I always look back on that, you know, and I thought, man, I'm gonna tell her, I'm gonna borrow that.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: But um, because it makes sense that us as coaches, if we don't have that confidence, how can we help the next person who's not being confident?
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: You know, how can we show them the keys um, you know, to you know, take that first that first turn of the key to whatever to wherever they're going or to get through that breakthrough or that crush that stronghold because if um we don't show them the confidence that we had to have to get over that.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: Um now I I mean I'm almost at a hundred episodes and I've I've got five podcasts and you know I've written a few books and yeah, you know, it's just God like once it took off, it took off.
- 34:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I just had to I had to do what you say in your your website.
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: You had to give the yes.
- 34:26SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: It's it's the I call it the no your no, like the no, the no is in the middle of no, no, your no, and then your like your best yes.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: And to really think of it as like, you know, I think we often will think of like our yes and no as just something that's impacting us, but every no and yes that we speak forth or you know give our answer to affects somebody else.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: I always think of it that way, like especially if the Lord's calling, like specifically calling me to be obedient to something or surrender something or let go of something, like it's tied to it's beyond me, literally.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: It's like above and beyond me.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, I I love constantly thinking about the next generation that's coming through me that you know, my my kids are miracles in and of themselves, first and foremost.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, just the people I get to meet and work with, and you know, we get to be this example of sharing our testimony and testifying to like what God has done.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: Because I I wouldn't have like honestly, if you would have told me when I was 24 this was gonna be your life, I would never have believed it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: I I I honestly I hated God growing up.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: I I literally hated God and and I hated him until I met him.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: So this this is so beyond me.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: And we get to keep testifying and share our stories, you know, in due time and appropriate places.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, sometimes your testimony isn't ready to be fully shared yet, right?
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Um, there's parts of you know things that I've walked through even the last few years that um I haven't fully disclosed the whole thing yet.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: Um, because it's not I I have to honor, you know, some people that are part of the story too.
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I I I understand and agree with that, but I think that um when we share, you know, what we've walked through, we like I said, we have to really be careful of that discernment, you know.
- 36:41SPEAKER_03: Um because if we want to be like Jesus and act like, you know, we have to be the hands and feet of Jesus, then we have to be really mindful as to what we're doing with it.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: It's not just something that we we we um we take on lightly, you know, we have to be really serious about it.
- 36:56SPEAKER_03: And I know for myself that I was like, oh my gosh, you know, God, um, there's you know, talking to God.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: Me and God had so many, like, I talk to God like I'm talking to you.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know if anybody else says, I just talk to God like I talk to you every day, all the time.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: Me and God are always talking, you know.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, God, right?
- 37:13SPEAKER_03: Me, you, right, you know.
- 37:15SPEAKER_03: And it's like, yeah, I'm like, I know you're there, God, you know.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: And um, sometimes people are like, Who are you talking to?
- 37:20SPEAKER_03: I'm talking to God, stay out of my conversation, you know.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: You're not invited into this one right now.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: Sorry, I just I you know I didn't realize I was talking so out loud, but I am.
- 37:30SPEAKER_03: But I was like, you know, talking with God and thinking, you know, I don't know what it is that you have for my life, but I want to fulfill it.
- 37:36SPEAKER_03: I know you have a great divine, and that's his characteristic.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: He created us with a purpose.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: And um sometimes we want to pick our purpose, and sometimes God wants us to fulfill our purpose.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: And sometimes we just get in our own way.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: And that's why I tell people, God will meet you where you're at.
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: He's gonna meet you in the whether you're in a mess or whether you're doing fantastic, he's gonna meet you right where you're at as long as you're willing and ready.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: The people that went, the people that got chosen in the Bible were the ones willing to go.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 38:04SPEAKER_03: And as disciples, we have to be, you know, it says, go and share the gospel, go and do, you know, go, go, go.
- 38:11SPEAKER_03: Um, and even when we go to the Lord, it says come boldly.
- 38:14SPEAKER_03: It doesn't say come crawling on your hands and knees or be scared.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: It says, come boldly to me, you know, don't don't ever be afraid, come boldly.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: And I think about certain like I'm I'm like you, I like I'm a word person too.
- 38:25SPEAKER_03: And I like to look up how many times a word is in the Bible and you know, like the different variations of the meaning and and what have you.
- 38:32SPEAKER_03: And I get fixated on some of that sometimes more than I should.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: But um, when I think about coming boldly to Jesus, like he tells us to actually come to him boldly.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: And a lot of times we either come to him, we're crying, we're we're reaching out because you know, we you know, we've made a mistake, we're ashamed, we you know, we're feeling that vulnerability, we we're like, oh God, we get no, I need you to forgive me again.
- 38:53SPEAKER_03: I'm just nothing but a mess.
- 38:55SPEAKER_03: That's not coming boldly.
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: And I thought about that one day and I thought, man, I wonder how many times he's like, here's you know, like the you know, the door speaks open, here she comes again, you know.
- 39:06SPEAKER_03: But he still loves us, he still gives us praise.
- 39:09SPEAKER_03: And he just and the door's always open.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the door is waiting.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: He's like, There's not even a door on it.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: It's like just come.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: It's like you know, I just just trying to throw the visual in there, but yeah, he's like, just come on, you know, it's okay.
- 39:23SPEAKER_03: And and and we just we're the ones that put that on us.
- 39:27SPEAKER_03: We put that on us.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: God doesn't put that on us, like you said, he's not gonna be the one to say you never to you.
- 39:33SPEAKER_03: Never, no, he's got he's got nothing but abundance for you.
- 39:37SPEAKER_03: That never is actually abundance, huh?
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: He will never say never.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: Like I don't think never is in God's vocabulary, do you?
- 39:45SPEAKER_03: Oh, really?
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: No, no, I don't think so.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: Like in a way that's like negatively trying to impact your your walk.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 39:53SPEAKER_03: I I I I completely don't think I I could see God saying, well, that's never gonna happen.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Like we would say that, you know, we could say that, but no one's gonna be able to do that.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: And how many people say that though?
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: Like even that you've encountered and and talked to, and and I've even said it before, like, oh and we have to catch ourselves in in even what we're speaking out.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: I have to catch myself all the time.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: Like, because it's just it's it's language, especially if you're talking maybe in a conversation with a group of people, and maybe it's on maybe a more negative pathway, I think, as maybe an empath or or whatever, you can have a tendency to kind of like be like, oh, you know, whatever comes out of your mouth, and it's like, wait a second, what did I just say?
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: Like, why am I agreeing with this?
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: Where it's like, no, this is not what the Lord says over me at all.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: He's like John 1010, it's like the thief came to steal, kill, destroy.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: And the other side, I always say it's like the right side of the 1010 is he came to give life and life abundant.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: So what does that look like for you in your life that that you know, I'm I'm just literally walked through a supernatural move of moving into this house and seeing God do something that that only he could do.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: I could not make it up.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: I call it like you can't make this stuff up moments where it's like leaning into that abundance and leaning into seeing, again, seeing a completely different life than maybe you ever expected.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: Beyond, I like to say above and beyond, is kind of what he keeps showing me lately, is like focus on my above and beyond, like not on this ground dwelling stuff, like it's above and beyond, like more than you could ask or imagine.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: Ephesians 3.20 talks about.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: It's like more than you could ask or imagine.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: Like just think about that for a minute.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Like maybe take this week and and think about like what is the more than you could ask or imagine?
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: Because he will show you these things, and it could take time.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I was waiting for a different house for 25 years.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a weight training moment, right?
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: And um, so yeah, lean lean into that Ephesians 3.20.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: I see 320 license plates all the time.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: So every time I see it, I'm like, Ephesians 3.20, like more than you can ask or imagine, right?
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: And it's it's getting into that higher, higher view that it it does, it continues to break the strongholds of even that negativity or or because I I I don't want to get into too much of um the past, but you know, one of the the strongholds that my own mother carried was that she's social phobic.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: Somebody told her she was social phobic, which then caused her to be very quiet, reclusive, feeling like she couldn't talk to anybody.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: And it's the very thing that tried to take me out too with my voice, tried to carry through to this, you know, future generation.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: And I said, No.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: This is not gonna be what happens.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: And I even coach her a little bit with like, okay, like what is what does it look like for you to use your voice today?
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's saying hi to somebody at the grocery store.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to be you going to speak on a stage.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: Um, I guess I'm kind of getting into the voice a little bit because I do feel like that's an area that women do that I talk to a lot, have just there's strongholds over the voice.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: There's chokeholds on necks to keep women from speaking up.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, just practice, practice roaring.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: I like you use your if you remember.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: The Lion King, there was um what was his name?
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: The little the little lion.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: He was like, rah, yeah, and then the the was it Mufasa behind the Mufasa.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Like ra and sometimes it you just have to like just do that little whisper, and it's like you just keep practicing the whisper, and then your roar is gonna start getting louder and louder, and it's not gonna look like anybody else, which is so beautiful.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Nobody has the same voice.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 44:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I like the I like the phrase.
- 44:33SPEAKER_03: I actually just found the other day my sign.
- 44:36SPEAKER_03: I couldn't believe I found it at a yard sale.
- 44:38SPEAKER_03: I think I gave it to me for like 50 cents.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: I found this sign that says um be yourself or be yourself because everyone else has already taken.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: And I love that because we don't do that.
- 44:47SPEAKER_03: We don't we think we've got to fit in, or um, there's a certain mold or certain criteria to um being accepted.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: We, you know, I I used to have this issue of being validated when I was younger.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: I needed validation, validation, validation.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: And God revealed to me, He's like, I validated you when I went to the cross, wasn't that enough?
- 45:07SPEAKER_03: And I'm telling you, that struck me like a ton of bricks because I always was looking for validation from people.
- 45:14SPEAKER_03: And Jesus, Jesus was like, like I said when I sat at Jesus' feet, he showed me a lot, and that was one thing he showed me.
- 45:19SPEAKER_03: He's like, I validated you when I went on went to that cross.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: And that broke off me, like immediately all that broke off because I didn't realize I mean, I knew it, but I I didn't pay attention to it, and I was like, Oh my gosh, that is so powerful.
- 45:35SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't need to seek validation from anyone ever again now.
- 45:39SPEAKER_03: And then again, the voice, our voice gets stronger and louder and more, you know, because we're supposed to be sharing the gospel.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: We're supposed to we're supposed to be disciples of Christ.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: They're like, Well, are you a preacher?
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: No, I'm a disciple.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: I tell people I'm a disciple.
- 45:53SPEAKER_03: Are you a teacher?
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: No, I'm a disciple.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: Are you a prophet?
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: No, I'm a disciple.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: Because it's all of the above.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: You it's whatever God wants me to do on that given day.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: And I remember when I was running the homeless ministry, this lady came up to me and she wanted to do something for me, and I was like, Oh no, you don't have to do that for me.
- 46:10SPEAKER_03: She's like, hey, don't rob me of a blessing.
- 46:13SPEAKER_03: That's so good.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: And I go, thank you for saying that to me, because I didn't realize that be by me not accepting what she wanted to give me, because I was like, oh no, it's okay, you know, I didn't really need it or whatever, but she wanted to give it out of her heart, and that that was her being a blessing to me.
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: And she's like, Don't rob me of my blessing, take the blessing.
- 46:33SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Well, absolutely give it here then, you know.
- 46:36SPEAKER_03: And now I now I think about these things, those are things that you know, those words, those words of wisdom that we hear along the way that um strengthens who we are and who we become and our walk with Christ, you know, because I, you know, people like have a gal that I know that she's like, I don't want to be a Christian anymore.
- 46:54SPEAKER_03: I don't want the term Christianity on me anymore because it's it's distorted, it's watered down, it's weak, it's it's it's damaging.
- 47:02SPEAKER_03: She's like, the word Christian has has been twisted in so many different ways.
- 47:06SPEAKER_03: I don't want to even be um known for being a Christian because of all everything that people say about Christians.
- 47:15SPEAKER_03: And she said, I just want to be a follower of Christ.
- 47:17SPEAKER_03: And I said, You want to be a disciple.
- 47:19SPEAKER_03: I go, we're supposed to be disciples of Christ.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: I go, that's where the word Christianity came from, was the discipleship of Jesus Christ.
- 47:25SPEAKER_03: And I said, You don't have to be called a Christian if you don't want to be.
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: But um, I said, But be proud of who you are, you know.
- 47:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, as far as you know, Jesus goes.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: And she was like, Yeah, I just got so tired.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: People are like, Yeah, well, you're a Christian.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're a Christian, you know.
- 47:40SPEAKER_03: I was like, So, yeah, I'm a Christian.
- 47:44SPEAKER_03: I tell people I'm a Christian all the time, and it doesn't bother me what they say.
- 47:47SPEAKER_03: It doesn't bother me.
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: You you you're at a point where you're like, okay, well, yeah, you know, that's your opinion.
- 47:53SPEAKER_03: It's the above and beyond part that you're talking about.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm above and beyond that that where I was before.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: Whatever you whatever you think that means is not who I am.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you what that actually means, maybe.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: And it could spark a conversation with somebody if they were to try to tear you apart just because you are a Christian.
- 48:13SPEAKER_03: Well, I know, you know, I mean, I know that people say, well, because of Christians, because of Christ, and I'm like, you know, you're being stereotypical.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: You're putting all Christians into one bowl, you know, like all in the one fish bowl, you know, just like putting every church in a fishbowl.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: You go, you really can't do that.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: I said the thing is we were made imperfect.
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: There is no perfect Christian.
- 48:31SPEAKER_03: And the thing is, is we say that we're Christians, and people think that we ought we walk around like we are holier than thou, and we absolutely are not.
- 48:39SPEAKER_03: We are far from that, you know.
- 48:40SPEAKER_03: And I go, I know there are some people that have walked out like that, like they thought that, you know, maybe you know, had that pride on them.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: I said, but that's not all Christianity, you know.
- 48:51SPEAKER_03: I don't believe that, but I I do believe that there's so much more to our walk with the Lord.
- 48:57SPEAKER_03: But um, having that in mind, um, can you tell our listeners today how they can get a hold of you and um um what your your um website is and information so we can get that it's gonna be in the show notes, but I just wanted you to be able to share it.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no problem.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, my website is new wingscoaching.net.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: So N E W W I N G S Coaching spelled out C-O-A-C-H-I-N-G dot net, N-E-T.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Um, I did that on purpose because I love the verse about cast your net to the other side.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: Um and you can find me on Instagram, uh renew.wings.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: So if you say that fast, it's renewings.
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: And um Facebook under my name, and then my podcast is Hope Unlocked.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: It's it's really fun.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: It's this whole journey is just a wild, wild adventure, and I'm here for it.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: So be happy to connect.
- 49:52SPEAKER_03: And how long have you been podcasting for?
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: Oh gosh, it's been since uh March of 2023.
- 50:00SPEAKER_03: Wow, that's pretty good.
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: Um, I was reading that you were like um in the top ranked, the globally ranked top five podcasts.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's it's so good.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: It I mean, you know, again, it goes back to like giving your wild, it's a wild yes, and to see what he can do with your yes is mind-blowing.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: I always say, like, you can't make this stuff up.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: I I can't make this stuff up.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: Like five years ago, would I have seen myself doing a podcast?
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: No.
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: Would I have seen myself re you know, literally being on a mission trip from my own office?
- 50:37SPEAKER_01: No.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: So go God.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: Like, I give him all the glory because I'm like, and I think that's what makes it so fun about being, you know, one that maybe didn't feel qualified, is that we we are like very prone to give him the glory because it's so outside of me.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: So beyond me, you know.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Um I I like it people say, or I've heard people say, God calls the unqualified so he that he can qualify us.
- 51:08SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 51:09SPEAKER_03: It's just like those that are willing to go.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: They weren't qualified either, but he qualified them because they said yes.
- 51:14SPEAKER_03: They said they're they're willing to do the work, even though they didn't know what it meant, like they weren't sure what was gonna happen.
- 51:19SPEAKER_03: Like walking around the walls of Jericho, just think of that story.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: And you know, and they're like, you just have to do this, and they're like, What are we doing here?
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Walking around quietly, being quiet with you know, hundreds of thousands of soldiers marching quietly.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but and then all of a sudden we're gonna shout and the walls are gonna fall down after being quiet for six days.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: I know, I know.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: If you think about the whole thing, it's mind-blowing, it's completely mind-blowing, right?
- 51:42SPEAKER_01: And it reminds me of I wanted to just share one more thing, and and maybe this will resonate with somebody, but years ago, um, I want to say it was probably 2022, I would say, where he was showing me this, I call it flip the script, where you know, the world typically would say ready, set, go, right?
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: One, two, three.
- 52:03SPEAKER_01: And he's like, No, we're gonna flip that.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: You need to focus on the go set ready.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: So you go, then you get set, and then you get ready.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: So it's this whole, it's this completely counter counter, counterculture mindset that as you continue to to go, you know, like Abraham, he's like, Lord's like, go, and he's like, Well, okay.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: You know, just you just go, like when I left corporate, he said go, and I'm like, really?
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously it wasn't like me going go and then okay right away, but um, you know, just just go.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: If he's calling you to go, go.
- 52:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know what that resonates with me on on is like when we're children and our parents say, Hey, go get in the car.
- 52:50SPEAKER_03: We don't know where we're what we're doing, we just listen, right?
- 52:53SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: Why, as children, you know, like it says in the Bible, we're supposed to be childlike.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: And I I think you're on to that because that why don't we do that when God says go?
- 53:02SPEAKER_03: Like we're like, oh no, wait a minute.
- 53:04SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 53:05SPEAKER_03: Where are we going, God?
- 53:06SPEAKER_03: Hold on, until you give me the whole the whole map of what we're doing and the game plan, I'm not moving.
- 53:12SPEAKER_03: And but as a child, parents say, Hey, go get in the car, we're leaving.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: And we're like, okay, we get in the car, we're going.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: If we had that mindset more often, God could work with us so good more often.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: You know, he could open that door.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: Such a great full.
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: Thanks.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Take that with you guys.
- 53:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just go.
- 53:30SPEAKER_03: See what God has for you.
- 53:31SPEAKER_03: Give it a chance.
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: You know, I tell people, you know, take a scripture, and I and um in my other podcast, we'll we'll talk about a specific scripture.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: I'll say, take the scripture and just meditate on it for the entire week.
- 53:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:43SPEAKER_03: And while you're meditating on it, just pray about it and then just watch God what God does with that scripture.
- 53:48SPEAKER_03: God didn't give us that scripture not to put it to good use.
- 53:52SPEAKER_03: Like he gave it to us to do a work in our lives.
- 53:55SPEAKER_03: And I said, But you gotta start reading it, you gotta start believing it, you gotta have the faith in it, and you gotta start, you know, you gotta put it in the motion.
- 54:01SPEAKER_03: Like you said, you gotta put it, push it forward, you know.
- 54:04SPEAKER_03: And um, without that, you know, you're just sitting there holding a book in your hands.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: What's the what's the word of God?
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: It's getting dusty on your shelf and it's not doing you one bit of good if you're not taking it and running with it.
- 54:15SPEAKER_03: You know, you gotta open it up and be like, all right, God, show me what you have for me today.
- 54:19SPEAKER_03: What is it?
- 54:20SPEAKER_03: And sit and meditate on it.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: And um God has shown me so much in his scripture.
- 54:25SPEAKER_03: I I swear he'll show me one scripture and I'll read it again like a week later, and it'll be a completely different showing.
- 54:31SPEAKER_03: I feel like I'm walking into a whole new art gallery.
- 54:34SPEAKER_03: Like, I just read that scripture a month ago and I didn't see that art like that, you know.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 54:40SPEAKER_03: I love your visuals.
- 54:42SPEAKER_03: I love it, it's awesome.
- 54:43SPEAKER_03: But so well, anyhow, having that in mind, um, I thank you so much for coming on and congratulations on again being the globally ranked top five podcaster.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: Woo-hoo, I'm excited for you.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: And um again, walking in that obedience, that's how you get there.
- 54:59SPEAKER_03: You know, that's that's what brings it along the way.
- 55:01SPEAKER_03: So you're you're doing it.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're helping people the long game, the tenacity, the perseverance to keep going.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: So keep going.
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: That's my favorite two words to not only say over myself, but to everybody.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: So I would speak that over everybody listening, is keep going.
- 55:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: But um, that answers our my usually my last question is what would what would you suggest?
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: And that that's it right there.
- 55:27SPEAKER_03: Keep going, you know.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: It's it and the go is in the going, right?
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: So keep going.
- 55:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and the doing, the going and the doing.
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: I like both of those when we think about that.
- 55:37SPEAKER_03: So um, so your book is out, right?
- 55:40SPEAKER_03: Your your new book is out?
- 55:41SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 55:43SPEAKER_03: So the the fit to the call.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: And um for the call.
- 55:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, fit for the call, I'm sorry.
- 55:48SPEAKER_03: Okay, no worries.
- 55:50SPEAKER_03: Um, and what is that about?
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: Well, it's it's a very um, it's very different.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: I actually had it done in a way that it's like eight by eight, and it it almost takes you through like having Kristen, like New Wings coaching in the book where I'm asking a lot of questions.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: One of my favorite chapters is uh actually like three to one go set ready.
- 56:12SPEAKER_01: I've got the weight training.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: So it does bring in some elements of movement, literal, like physical movement, spiritual breakthroughs, questions, coaching questions.
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: I call it like ninja coaching.
- 56:25SPEAKER_01: So it's just a lot of questions that help you dig deeper, do some journaling, and really like we we do really need to be fit for the call, especially in this time.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: So it's not complicated.
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: Um, the book isn't complicated.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: I I've had a lot of people read through it and they've had a lot of breakthroughs just by going through this almost like a boot camp training manual in a way.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: Spiritual boot camp training.
- 56:53SPEAKER_03: Awesome.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:54SPEAKER_03: And so you kind of get a whole mix of a whole mix of it, which is awesome.
- 57:00SPEAKER_03: I think we need that one, you know, it it brings that balance.
