  Speaker 5: to do. Okay, so you didn't have a scholarship quarterback

  Speaker 5: and now you have three. You go, you know, you

  Speaker 5: get your starter, a guy in Sam Levitt, it's been
• 5:27
  Speaker 5: to the playoff, and that wasn't going to be enough
• 5:31
  Speaker 5: because you still had other needs.

  Speaker 4: You go get Long Street from.

  Speaker 5: The USC, somebody that hasn't played but highly touted, has

  Speaker 5: had some action and you see a bright future for him.

  Speaker 4: And then you go get a quarterback from.

  Speaker 5: The FCS level that has had a lot of success
• 5:45
  Speaker 5: on the field a year ago. So you get a

  Speaker 5: little bit of everything. So that's how you rebuild the

  Speaker 5: quarterback room. And then for the running back room, well

  Speaker 5: you retain your players. You get Harlan Bearr, you get
• 5:56
  Speaker 5: Cayden Durham to come back for another year at LSU.

  Speaker 1: And those are two players that I think.

  Speaker 5: Were underutilized that they couldn't really show their talents behind
• 6:06
  Speaker 5: the scheme and all the situation we talked about with
• 6:10
  Speaker 5: the offensive front in front of them.

  Speaker 4: For both of those.
• 6:12
  Speaker 5: Players to still average over four and a half yards
• 6:15
  Speaker 5: per carry, I tip my cap to them because I
• 6:18
  Speaker 5: don't know where to tell them to run on the
• 6:21
  Speaker 5: film that we watch. And then now you bring in

  Speaker 5: a bunch of receivers as well, you bring in multiple
• 6:26
  Speaker 5: tight ends, you bring in multiple offensive linemen, including the
• 6:29
  Speaker 5: top offensive lineman, and so yeah, it's bringing players in.

  Speaker 5: It's the retention that you had at the running back position.

  Speaker 5: Now to play Devil's advocate, there's going to be a

  Speaker 5: lot of new and you've got to try to figure
• 6:41
  Speaker 5: out how to integrate all the new and how it's

  Speaker 5: going to work together. And you got to get everybody

  Speaker 5: up to speed pretty quickly here. Now it is not

  Speaker 5: like when we played where we don't have the option

  Speaker 5: and ability to get onto the field. You know, during

  Speaker 5: this time of year, they can actually go out there,

  Speaker 5: they can meet, they can be you know, I think

  Speaker 5: it's twice a week. Maybe they can go through what

  Speaker 5: we would consider kind of ota ish mini Campush type

  Speaker 5: situation where we didn't have that we had.

  Speaker 1: It's actually there's actual rules they have they have to follow.

  Speaker 5: Yeah, they do, but they're they're way more lenient than

  Speaker 6: this turnover, new guys, new faces, is how you integrate

  Speaker 6: them into your program, into your system, teach them the culture.

  Speaker 1: But you know, everybody's new. The whole coaching staff is new,

  Speaker 1: so everybody's learning together.

  Speaker 6: So like, just to re emphasize Lane Kifvin and his staff,

  Speaker 6: they go out, they find the best available, they get
• 7:52
  Speaker 6: the best available. Some of that best available was already

  Speaker 6: wearing an LSU helmet and they retained it as some
• 7:57
  Speaker 6: of the biggest moves that were made in the portal.

  Speaker 1: We're retaining a lot of these guys.

  Speaker 6: And look those guys are if you keep them out

  Speaker 6: of the portal or you sign them back from in

  Speaker 6: the portal, even though they played on LSU last year.

  Speaker 6: this time we talked about Katon Durham, like we're talking

  Speaker 6: about Harlan Berry like he had that type of first

  Speaker 6: year at LSU. Like these don't get it twisted, Kat

  Speaker 6: and Durham is a hell of a running back with

  Speaker 6: the freshman in the league. Yeah, it's like just like

  Speaker 6: two years ago, and he's had a great average per carry.

  Speaker 6: This year, he just didn't he didn't have like some
• 9:08
  Speaker 6: of the flashes I think that Harlan Berry kind of had.

  Speaker 6: But you know, those flashes come when big holes are

  Speaker 6: presented in the running game, and that just wasn't presented

  Speaker 5: So you get Jase Brown from Kansas State at receiver,

  Speaker 5: You get Trey Wilson from Florida at receiver. You get

  Speaker 5: Watkins from Old Miss, you get Trey Brown from O Du.

  Speaker 5: I mean, the list goes on and on. You get

  Speaker 5: Jackson Harrison. Know a lot of people are excited about

  Speaker 5: him coming over from Hawaii. So you're gonna have candidates

  Speaker 5: he is six three, two hundred pounds, Trey Brown six
