- 0:00Speaker 1: Some people just do not, will not follow instruction, even
- 0:05Speaker 1: when it is for their own safety. Now, the news,
- 0:08Speaker 1: the breaking news, I caught it on the news last night,
- 0:10Speaker 1: about six o'clock last night, that the beaches were back open.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Because they had been closed for a couple of days. Because, yes,
- 0:17Speaker 1: the whale had washed up on the shore down at
- 0:20Speaker 1: South City Beach. And then there were the sharks. There
- 0:24Speaker 1: were the secretions. Yes, there were the secretions attracting the
- 0:27Speaker 1: white pointers in close to the coast. And then they
- 0:31Speaker 1: discovered that there was, from said rotting Willie the whale,
- 0:34Speaker 1: there was E. coli in the water. So there was
- 0:38Speaker 1: like two reasons why you just don't dip your toe.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And I know it would have been hard yesterday because
- 0:44Speaker 1: obviously up to 28 degrees it got to. But I actually,
- 0:50Speaker 1: a couple of days ago, I went while this band
- 0:52Speaker 1: was on, I was tossing up, do I go to
- 0:54Speaker 1: the gym and do the incline run or do I
- 0:58Speaker 1: go for a run on the sand? And I thought,
- 1:00Speaker 1: I'll really hurt myself and go for a run on
- 1:02Speaker 1: the sand, not in the water. Anyway, there's signs everywhere.
- 1:07Speaker 1: No swimming. And they even had the shark signs up
- 1:10Speaker 1: with the little shark and it's got the teeth. Like
- 1:13Speaker 1: it's really, really clear that these things bite and they've
- 1:17Speaker 1: got sharp teeth and them's going to hurt you if
- 1:20Speaker 1: one of them gets you. And so I'm running along
- 1:22Speaker 1: and there's still people in the water. I wonder what
- 1:27Speaker 1: an E. coli warning sign would look like. I mean,
- 1:30Speaker 1: it just has these signs between the shark signs. And
- 1:35Speaker 1: between the no swimming signs and the lifesaver just driving
- 1:41Speaker 1: up and down the beach in the van with the
- 1:43Speaker 1: lights flashing, you know... Get out of the water now!
- 1:49Speaker 1: Everybody out! Get out! Get out of there! It wasn't
- 1:52Speaker 1: quite as dramatic as Sheriff Brodie, but you get the point. Yes, yes.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You get the point. And so I saw the lifeguard
- 2:00Speaker 1: go over to a group of people, parents with kids. Oh, God.
- 2:05Speaker 1: In the water. And explaining to them and saying, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 1: get out of the water. There's a couple of reasons
- 2:10Speaker 1: why you really shouldn't be there. Mm. And anyway, so
- 2:14Speaker 1: then a lifeguard drives away and what happens? They don't
- 2:19Speaker 1: go back in. They go back in the water. The
- 2:20Speaker 1: parents with kids die. I'm running back the other way,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and I'm going, oh, my God, they're in the water again. God, evolution, huh?
- 2:27Speaker 1: My God, I just couldn't believe it. Wow. And it's like, well,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I don't know. You kind of explain to them and say, well,
- 2:32Speaker 1: what do you want? Do you want to have an
- 2:34Speaker 1: attack of shark or an attack of the squirts? It's
- 2:37Speaker 1: your choice because you're going to get one of the either. Anyway,
- 2:41Speaker 1: at least the E. coli is gone, apparently. And there's
- 2:44Speaker 1: rain coming, too, so that should flush everything out. But
- 2:48Speaker 1: the sharks, they're still hanging around, and they shall hang
- 2:51Speaker 1: around because of? Secretions. Secretions in the sand up and
- 2:55Speaker 1: down the coast. And given that we had an attack
- 2:57Speaker 1: just a few weeks ago, I mean, it's like, I
- 2:59Speaker 1: don't know what, what do you have to do to
- 3:01Speaker 1: convince people to just stay out of the water?
