So people say they don't believe in prosperity, but it's there in the Bible.

the other copies. That's right. So I don't understand why people back off

of prosperity. And I've noticed even in movement— just giving you a minute to

share, y'all— if you're going to hear any preaching on prosperity, you basically have to,

because people have gotten shy about the message of

the financial blessing of God. And that's why I started

with Romans chapter 12. The Bible says let God transform you by

changing the way you think to not copy the behavior and customs of this

world. People believe in prosperity to the point that the

world's okay with it, and then they don't want to go past that. I don't

think anyone's done that consciously, but it's like you have a subconscious

level from public school or university or CNN or

whoever that lets you know what, what's okay. Robert Schuller wrote a book

in 1971 entitled Your Church Has Real Possibilities.

I was pastoring, so I wanted to get a book by a guy that wrote

a massive church to see what the Lord had showed him. It was amazing what

he wrote in 1971. He said, as long as you're content to have a

church of 500 or less people on 5 acres or less property,

the world will have no problem with it. But he said, as soon as you

go past that, it will seem like all hell breaks loose to push

you back in that position. There's a resistance when you

go forward to receive the blessing of Abraham,

and most people, without knowing it, they get tired of that resistance and

they settle back to what I would call an acceptable level. You guys

But you're going to get criticized anyway. I saw a guy was doing a conference

that, uh, it was $399 a person, and he was teaching

of that stuff and it's no problem. But there's one group of people that the

devil doesn't want to enter into riches, and that's the people that are watching right

devil. The plan of God in the last days is not for people to ship

cash from Saudi Arabia to build giant mosques. It's to

prosper the people of God and build giant churches and hold

the largest evangelistic crusades that the world has ever seen.

That's not going to happen somewhere out there. The people God is

going to use to bust the hold of the devil on this generation are

in this room. And today, as we give, God is doing what he said in

his word. He's opening up the windows of heaven and pouring you out

It means taxes and more taxes. But if

you're crazy rich, it doesn't matter how many taxes they have.

And so that's, that's where you got to get your head. You got to start

thinking like God will, God will handle it. So, all right, I want

to share with you about right now, um, the goodness

and the mercy of God. And I want to talk to you about the armor

of God. I don't talk about it often, but I'm going to get into it

right now because the devil has schemes. Put that

word in there— schemes, plans. He's got

things. So in Ephesians 6:11, it says, put on the whole armor

of God that you may be able to stand against

the wiles of the devil. Wiles, that's a word. The Greek—

now listen to this— the Greek word for that, wiles, I can't pronounce it,

but it basically means methodeia.

M-E-T-H-O-D-E-I-A. Methodeia. So what's

that sound like to you? Well, a methodeia is where we get the word method.

What are the methods? So God's saying there's something

that you can put on to protect

you against the sneakiness of the devil's

methods. Wouldn't you like to know what that is? I'd like to know what that

is. So it says, uh, it literally means a

carefully planned strategy, a cunning scheme,

a calculated deception,

a tricky design to mislead.

An organized plan to accomplish a goal.

So what does that mean? The devil doesn't attack you randomly. It's not just like,

oh, this attack came out of nowhere. Now I'm gonna

say something that might creep you out first, so please forgive me, but it'll

help you too. The devil's been watching you,

and not just you, my friend. The devil watches you, your family,

your nana, your boo-boo. This is why in certain families drugs

are rampant. In some families, alcohol. In some families,

gambling. In some families, pornography.

It's because Satan knows this one is weak here, this one is weak here.

And that's why some people, um,

will, will watch porn, but they would never become a homosexual

because it just doesn't even trigger them. So he uses different schemes through different

people, but the end result is the same.

He's shutting the trap on you, my friend. And you've got to be smarter than

the devil. And he's not that smart to begin with, so it's not hard to

outsmart him. You're going to figure it out today. So the devil doesn't just

attack randomly. He studies people. He finds your weakness. He repeats

successful strategies.

He knows if this triggers you all the time, he's going to keep

doing it. He knows if you've got a weakness in this area, you'll keep doing

it. Let's just take a man that has a problem with affairs, all right?

He's got a problem being faithful to his wife, and the devil knows that

every time his wife is not nice He's gonna go run. My smoothie

is frozen over. He's gonna go run and find some other chick to talk to.

Well, he's gonna find ways to help that wife not be nice because he already

knows this plan works. I can keep this husband, uh, crippled all the time

and, you know, in this state of wickedness by just causing his

wife to be a crapper. And so that's how it happens over and

over again. So he studies people, he repeats strategies. But Jesus called him a

liar and the father of lies. So there is not

one Hebrew word identical to methodeia because

Ephesians was actually written in the Greek language. Okay,

and my head is too big in this thing. These poor people on the thing,

they're like, oh, her head is huge. Sorry about that. However, the Old Testament

repeats, uses words, uh, like mirma,

which means deceit, fraud, treachery.

Falsehood. Psalm 52:2, your tongue devises destruction.

The same word is often described as a deceptive principle.

So one of the major weapons that Satan has against you is

deceitfulness in a multitude of areas,

and we're going to expose some of that now. Um, it means to scheme,

to craft, to plot. So what are the wiles of the devil? Let's cover

these first so that you know what part of your armor will will

defeat him because he's got stuff he does. The first

wile of the devil— scheme, method, plan— and

instead of wile, I'm just going to say the first sneaky strategy method

is deception. Put that word in the comments: deception.

Genesis 3 says the serpent never denied God existed.

He simply twisted the word. Did God

really say Are you really the Son of God? If you're the Son of

God— it's like a, it's like a twisting, a manipulating,

a deception. It's like it's not— it's true

but not quite true. It's a part of the truth but not all of it.

He's a twister of the truth. And it said that the serpent

didn't deny God, but he just twisted the word.

You know, he's going to come at you like that. Did God really say that?

Is God really faithful? Do you really— you know, all this stuff.

So Satan asks people questions today like,

God didn't really mean that, did he? Or he'll say, everyone does

it. That's what kids say, everyone does it.

You'll be happier this way. You know,

if the Bible tells you that you're supposed to be with a man,

a man's supposed to be with a woman, and a woman's to be with a

man, but you've got these tendencies for something else, the devil will lie and

tell you you'll be happy like that. But you'll never be happy like that because

it goes against the nature that God put in you. You think you're happy,

you'll be happy for a little while. What about temptation? Matthew 4.

Jesus was tempted in 3 areas: physical desires,

pride, and power. Satan quoted

scripture, but it was out of context. So one of the greatest methods he uses

to— in truth is to mix it with error. Y'all getting this?

He accuses. Revelation 12:10. He's the accuser of the brethren.

He reminds believers of forgiven sin. You know,

that's why you could be like going along and you feel good about yourself,

and maybe someone from your past is like, I know what you used to be

like, I know who you are, who do you think you are? Well, that's why,

because Satan's trying to remind you. Once you've repented of your sin,

once you said, Father, I'm sorry, forgive me, that sin no

longer exists. It's under the blood of Jesus. It is gone. It's not just

washed, it's destroyed, annihilated. It's gone.

So you're not even that person. So, you know, sometimes I'll bring up

stuff I've gone through as a testimony to help people, but at the same

time, you are no longer that person.

methods is making believers imagine the worst before it ever happens. Can I tell you,

God has not given us a spirit of fear. Fear paralyzes faith.

One of Satan's favorite methods is making you imagine the worst

before it even happens. That's a wile. That's a scheme. That's a trick of

Offense is a scheme that the devil uses, actually truly,

to also keep you away from ministries that can help you or people that can

help you. Now, I'm not talking about weirdo ministries. I'm talking about, um,

you know, like many on here have gotten offended if I talk about money and

you're struggling with money and you get pissed off. It's because the devil knows if

you keep listening about finances and getting our mind right and,

and you don't lose hope in the struggle or whatever, you're going to come out

of it. He doesn't want you to come out. He wants you imprisoned. Or let's

take a person that, um, you know, somebody's deeply wounded you, really hurt

you badly, and you cannot seem to forgive them. Have you ever been

there? I've been there. I'll tell you, I've been there. I've been there.

I've been there. I've been there when I thought there's no hope, I will

never forgive this person. I mean, I'm telling you, I've been there.

So have you ever been there? Have you ever been there where somebody is really

forgive them? That's a device of the devil. First of all, if you keep staying

All right, who— pride. One of the devil's wiles is

armor of God includes a belt of truth, and we're going to get into the

armor. The very first piece of the armor is in fact the belt

of truth. That's because that's the thing that holds

opportunity. Are you going to get offended? That's an opportunity. Are you full of fear?

unforgiving? That's an opportunity. Are you in doubt? It's an opportunity.

Are you listening to false teaching? Are you discouraged? Are you

Do you accept the accusations of the devil? Um,

Why the armor? Every piece counts as one of

Satan's methods. Every piece.

So the belt of truth is— it will counter lies

and deception. What's the belt of truth? It's the word of God. When you read

the word of God for yourself,

when you read the word of God for yourself, then you'll recognize lies and deceptions.

this bad is wonderful. No, because you're not going to be moved

by what the enemy might try to do. And as you praise him when it's

good and praise him when it's bad, it won't be long till it won't be

bad. But the devil's watching. It's like I told you, when that youth pastor—

every time I would go to preach, all hell would break loose in my house,

and I was so aggravated. And I'm like, why does this always happen?

And he said, because the devil knows it aggravates you. I said, well,

when is it going to stop? He said, when it doesn't aggravate you.

Now, I'm never going to not have these people talk about my makeup, my lashes.

They're going to talk forever. But guess what? As you can tell It

all. So shoes of the gospel of peace will defeat

the fear, instability, and anxiety. What about the shield of faith? The shield of

faith will stop the doubt and fiery darts. In other words, when you walk in

faith, you're confident that you know that what God promised

has to be. So when Satan throws a dart at you like, that's never going

to happen, you're never going to have this, you have your faith up.

The helmet of salvation, that will— when you have attacks on the mind

and you have the helmet of salvation, it's when someone's trying to

come at your identity. Are you sure you're saved?

This— Paul did discuss all this. The shield of faith will stop

the doubts and fire. The helmet of salvation will stop the attacks on the mind.

The sword of the Spirit, that is the only attack weapon you have. Everything else

That's your only weapon against the devil. You don't have to

And when we went in there, the first thing the guy said is, he said,

not right, your whole armor is going to fall off. So if you listen to

somebody that tells you God wants you broke, nothing's gonna work. If you listen

was one of the first pieces that they put on. It secured the tunic so
