- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn. Okay,
- 0:03Speaker 1: here we go. Where the plays get broken down and
- 0:06Speaker 1: science gets denied. Dude, they said I gotta come off
- 0:08Speaker 1: the bench.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:11Speaker 2: Cane Studio.
- 0:43Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Welcome back in our number two of OTB Monday shows
- 0:48Speaker 2: brought to you by Bayou Automotive, bayouautomotive.com down in Laplace, Louisiana. Remember,
- 0:52Speaker 2: they will deliver your vehicle to you in the capital city, the.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Surrounding area, bayouautomotive.com. Well, it is Monday. It is Monday.
- 1:02Speaker 2: The Saints haven't played yet. Must be on a bye week, right?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Got to be, right?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Jake.
- 1:09Speaker 1: What?
- 1:09Speaker 3: You might want to be sitting down, which you are.
- 1:11Speaker 4: The Saints have a primetime game.
- 1:15Speaker 1: A primetime game?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Monday night football.
- 1:18Speaker 1: No way. This is a big weekend for the NFC South.
- 1:20Speaker 1: No way. It is. Two primetime games? Wow. Wow. Wow.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Two weeks in a row for the Saints. No noon pickle.
- 1:30Speaker 1: How about that?
- 1:32Speaker 2: Not that big of a deal, although it is a
- 1:34Speaker 2: huge deal.
- 1:35Speaker 1: People are catching on.
- 1:36Speaker 2: New Orleans Saints hosting the Atlanta Falcons. It's going to
- 1:39Speaker 2: be in the Superdome. Saints one and a half point favorite.
- 1:42Speaker 2: That line's kind of moved around a little bit, but
- 1:45Speaker 2: it is going to be the 20th anniversary of the
- 1:48Speaker 2: Saints' return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. Same night,
- 1:52Speaker 2: same team that they're going to be playing. A Monday
- 1:55Speaker 2: night football game against the Atlanta Falcons, their bitter rival.
- 2:00Speaker 1: The NFC South....
- 2:03Speaker 2: Did have a moment last night.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they did.
- 2:05Speaker 2: The old Carolina Panthers went out there. And Bryce Young
- 2:09Speaker 2: is dealing right now. And they put it on the
- 2:12Speaker 2: Detroit Lions. So now they're 2-2. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- 2:17Speaker 2: had to start an undrafted free agent rookie in Jalen Daniels.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And so they're going for it.
- 2:23Speaker 4: How about all the people that wanted Kelvin Shepard here?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 2:26Speaker 3: A Detroit Lions defense looks awful.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Kelvin ain't going to last after this year. I just
- 2:32Speaker 1: don't see it. Well, we're a play away.
- 2:36Speaker 2: He's not in good guy situations. They've been decimated with
- 2:41Speaker 2: injury and DB. They had one guy that had to
- 2:45Speaker 2: get released from the team for off the field stuff.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Their other two starting DBs are still out. They're trying
- 2:51Speaker 2: to piece it together with duct tape and super glue.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I don't know if he'll get fired, but it looks bad.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I don't know if he'll get fired either, but coordinators,
- 2:58Speaker 2: to y'all's point, typically... Right, wrong, or indifferent, they go first,
- 3:02Speaker 2: but he'll bounce back.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Well, and then to your point about the injury, he's
- 3:05Speaker 5: like down the stretch. That's what caused him to collapse
- 3:08Speaker 5: offensively and defensively, but it was bad at the end
- 3:11Speaker 5: of last year, and then again this year as well.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I just, I don't know. When you run into
- 3:15Speaker 1: a Bryce Young freight train. On Sunday night. He was
- 3:18Speaker 1: the second leading passer in the NFL. I know. He's
- 3:21Speaker 1: playing incredible.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Playing his little ass off.
- 3:23Speaker 1: They should have sat before the game. It was incredible.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He looks tiny in the huddle.
- 3:27Speaker 1: He's so little.
- 3:28Speaker 5: It was Lions, Panthers, both top five offenses in terms
- 3:32Speaker 5: of points per game and both bottom five defenses.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ted McMillan.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I was going to say Ted or old McMillan was.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Anyways, all right.
- 3:40Speaker 2: We'll get to the Panthers. We'll get to all of that.
- 3:41Speaker 2: But tonight, right now, it's about the New Orleans Saints.
- 3:45Speaker 2: They have a chance to. Tie those Carolina Panthers for
- 3:48Speaker 2: the lead in the NFC South. This line, again, it
- 3:51Speaker 2: started around three for the Saints. It's gone down to
- 3:53Speaker 2: a point and a half. So a little bit of
- 3:55Speaker 2: movement there. But this is a great opportunity for the Saints.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And it was a look. It was a moment that
- 4:02Speaker 2: I think all of us remember 20 years ago. It
- 4:05Speaker 2: was a moment that I think a lot of people
- 4:06Speaker 2: will never forget. Watching it live, being there live, wherever
- 4:10Speaker 2: you were, it was a game that you felt it
- 4:12Speaker 2: throughout the entire state. It meant so much to see
- 4:15Speaker 2: them back in the Superdome. We didn't know if they'd
- 4:17Speaker 2: ever be back in the Superdome. We didn't know if
- 4:19Speaker 2: they'd move to San Antonio. They were playing their games there.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I mean, Matt, you remember they played the Dolphins in
- 4:26Speaker 2: Tiger Stadium, and a lot of us went after our
- 4:29Speaker 2: workout on Sunday and watching them play there.
- 4:31Speaker 1: We didn't really know what would. You went? Yeah. You
- 4:34Speaker 1: didn't go? That was Saban's first game. I remember that
- 4:40Speaker 1: very vividly. I didn't know anybody went. No, a bunch
- 4:44Speaker 1: of us did.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Because we went in and then we had to leave
- 4:48Speaker 2: to go work out, do the stretch and stride, as
- 4:52Speaker 2: Coach Moffitt called it. And then they were like, you
- 4:54Speaker 2: can't come back in here. We're like, yeah, but can we?
- 4:56Speaker 2: And they let us back in. So a bunch of
- 4:59Speaker 2: us went to the game. Sorry, maybe you didn't get
- 5:01Speaker 2: the invite.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's probably sleeping.
- 5:04Speaker 3: You were left out the group chat?
- 5:04Speaker 1: It was a noon game, wasn't it?
- 5:05Speaker 2: It wasn't group chats back then.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Was it a noon game? Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. No group chats back then. Hell, there
- 5:13Speaker 2: was barely text.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Messages back then. You just walked upstairs and knocked on
- 5:16Speaker 1: my door. That's fair. That's fair. Oh, I was off camera.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Never mind.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Need a vintage AK game.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you would have been off camera. Me too. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you're right. So.
- 5:31Speaker 2: A lot can be on the table tonight, even though
- 5:33Speaker 2: it is early in the season. Again, it's the Falcons,
- 5:36Speaker 2: so we all know that means something already. But just
- 5:39Speaker 2: where the division's at right now, and it feels like
- 5:41Speaker 2: Tampa Bay's already left behind. So if you can get
- 5:45Speaker 2: a game on the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina, their offense doesn't
- 5:48Speaker 2: look like it's going anywhere.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Now, defensively, they've got a lot of issues.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But if you can get ahead tonight, if you can
- 5:57Speaker 2: go ahead, get a victory, tie them up, you know, again,
- 6:01Speaker 2: it's four weeks in, I understand that, but just with
- 6:03Speaker 2: the way that the division's kind of tracking right now,
- 6:06Speaker 2: this feels like a very, very big game for the
- 6:08Speaker 2: saints on a big stage and a big stage for
- 6:10Speaker 2: guys like Tyler Shuck, who the national media, they still
- 6:13Speaker 2: call him show sometimes like he can go out there
- 6:16Speaker 2: and he can show them what we already know about it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 6: So like going into this week, the two top passers
- 6:25Speaker 6: in the NFL, at least from a yardage standpoint, we're
- 6:27Speaker 6: in the NFC South Bryce Young and Tyler Shuck. Like if,
- 6:29Speaker 6: So this gives you a unique opportunity. Like we, we
- 6:32Speaker 6: always complain and we say about like the new own sense.
- 6:34Speaker 6: You don't get the primetime games. This is a big
- 6:37Speaker 6: opportunity for the saints to go and showcase how good
- 6:42Speaker 6: of a team they actually are for Tyler Shuck to
- 6:44Speaker 6: showcase his skills on primetime and to hopefully get more
- 6:49Speaker 6: in the future. It's exciting when there's young quarterbacks, when
- 6:52Speaker 6: there's good quarterback play, especially within a division. Like if
- 6:55Speaker 6: you can hold serve here with the Panthers doing what
- 6:57Speaker 6: they did last night and like, look, Let's take a
- 7:01Speaker 6: look at what the Saints have done already this year
- 7:05Speaker 6: on their schedule. Yes, they're 1-2 going into this, but guys,
- 7:09Speaker 6: the Raiders are really good. They went toe-to-toe and nearly
- 7:14Speaker 6: beat the Chiefs yesterday, who were undefeated, and Patrick Mahomes
- 7:17Speaker 6: is playing vintage Patrick Mahomes. They are a good football team.
- 7:21Speaker 6: What we watched in the Dome last week with the
- 7:23Speaker 6: Saints and the Raiders, that was two good football teams
- 7:26Speaker 6: playing against each other. So let's not get it twisted. Yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 6: it's one and two, but look at that one and two.
- 7:32Speaker 6: And you let that one with the Raiders get away
- 7:34Speaker 6: from you in the fourth quarter. So I don't know
- 7:36Speaker 6: why the line would have started and gone towards the Falcons.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 6: But I'd grab it because I think the Saints are
- 7:47Speaker 6: in a really good position. Chris Olave playing as good
- 7:51Speaker 6: as any receiver in the NFL right now. Um, and
- 7:55Speaker 6: so like, but this is a big opportunity if they
- 7:57Speaker 6: can go do what they've done. If Tyler Shuck can
- 7:59Speaker 6: play like he has been all year, make plays, they're
- 8:03Speaker 6: in a good position for the NFC South to be
- 8:07Speaker 6: kind of a sexy little, little division.
- 8:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I just think it's really funny that the Panthers are,
- 8:13Speaker 3: I know we.
- 8:14Speaker 6: We didn't even, we kind of just washed over the,
- 8:15Speaker 6: even though they won the division last year, like we
- 8:17Speaker 6: kind of glossed.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Over them because we were like, well, it's going to
- 8:19Speaker 1: be the saints of the bucks.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And then the Bucs are just, like, not good.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Like, straight at.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, straight buns, just not good at all.
- 8:26Speaker 5: The biggest buns you've ever seen. That era is coming
- 8:31Speaker 5: to an end in Tampa. Because remember, last year they
- 8:34Speaker 5: looked so good, had all the injuries, and, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 5: Bowles and everybody else was like, oh, once we get
- 8:38Speaker 5: our offensive line straight, we're good. They've had their start
- 8:42Speaker 5: in five the entire year in their own four. That
- 8:44Speaker 5: defense is still bad.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Missing the receivers, the secondary receivers behind Igbuka. Baker Mayfield
- 8:51Speaker 2: being out. Look at the receivers the Panthers are missing.
- 8:54Speaker 1: No, no.
- 8:55Speaker 2: They're missing like three of their top four. Tyler Rowe
- 8:57Speaker 2: was the best of that group.
- 8:58Speaker 1: For sure. But they're still missing.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I mean, they don't have Xavier Leggett.
- 9:01Speaker 6: I mean, who's going to stretch for 1,000 yards? Maybe
- 9:04Speaker 6: that's why they're playing well.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Okay. I'll relax.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Wait, back to this.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Xavier, I know you're listening. I was like, oh. I
- 9:10Speaker 1: was like, Mechie? And Memphis and the Panthers. And he goes, Dad,
- 9:14Speaker 1: who's John? I was like.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Well, actually, he's a good player. I mean, he had leukemia.
- 9:17Speaker 2: He had to overcome a lot, but he was a
- 9:19Speaker 2: hell of a college football player.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he had some moments in Houston. He was okay.
- 9:25Speaker 1: He had some moments. But he was on the field. Hey,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I got bad news for you. Oh. It's not bad
- 9:31Speaker 1: news for anybody except for me.
- 9:33Speaker 8: Oh.
- 9:34Speaker 6: You know, I have that really good Bryce Young card.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
- 9:38Speaker 6: You didn't accept my dollar offer. So I've had it
- 9:41Speaker 6: on the market for a while. It's still on the market,
- 9:44Speaker 6: or it was. I was like, let me go check,
- 9:47Speaker 6: because I was like, I was starting to get a
- 9:49Speaker 6: lot of offers on it.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, I'm holding. He's playing too good.
- 9:52Speaker 1: The game started last night, and he started popping off
- 9:54Speaker 1: completing a few passes.
- 9:55Speaker 6: I was like, let me go do a proof of
- 9:57Speaker 6: life check on this card upstairs because we've been moving around.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I got a lot of things in boxes. It wasn't there.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I was talking to Huck about it. He was like, yeah, Dad,
- 10:04Speaker 1: you sold that at the last card show. I was like, oh.
- 10:11Speaker 3: No.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I didn't take it off eBay either.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Dang.
- 10:17Speaker 6: I was like, oh. I didn't sell it cheap. It
- 10:20Speaker 6: was market value before the season, but.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Now it's probably not.
- 10:24Speaker 8: Still.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You sold it? Sold it. Why?
- 10:26Speaker 3: It's brutal.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Lost hope. And forgot. You held that forever. I held
- 10:30Speaker 1: that forever.
- 10:30Speaker 6: But I got a, it was like the preseason, because
- 10:33Speaker 6: there's always a preseason bump for everything.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:36Speaker 6: I sold it like a week before the season. That
- 10:37Speaker 6: last card show we did, we signed a little bit.
- 10:41Speaker 6: I went and I sold it right before then, because
- 10:42Speaker 6: it was like a week before the first NFL game.
- 10:44Speaker 6: So there's always a preseason bump. And of course, on
- 10:47Speaker 6: this show, we were not talking very good about the Panthers.
- 10:50Speaker 6: I didn't know he was going to be playing at
- 10:51Speaker 6: an MVP level.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Dang. And you swore you were holding it, too.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I swear.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Did you get better offers on eBay than you did
- 11:00Speaker 2: on the card.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Show? After fees and stuff, no. True.
- 11:06Speaker 6: But for what it's worth now, that play is not
- 11:11Speaker 6: going anywhere. What he's put on the field, that's not lucky.
- 11:15Speaker 6: It's not going anywhere. That offense is doing a really
- 11:17Speaker 6: nice job. It would have been worth what I was
- 11:21Speaker 6: asking for it on eBay.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:25Speaker 1: All right. It's not what I got, though. Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I'm trying to make you feel better, but I'm like.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It was like one of those things. I was like, okay,
- 11:32Speaker 1: it's not in that box. It's probably in this other box.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I looked at that box. It's not there. I was like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: it's probably in this other box. I looked at that box,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and I'm like, starting to get a little sweaty, like
- 11:39Speaker 1: a little panicky. And I'm like, where is it? I
- 11:42Speaker 1: was like, did it get lost in the move? Like,
- 11:44Speaker 1: what's happening? Huck's like, no, Dad, you sold that.
- 11:48Speaker 8: Hmm.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I mean, can't have money when you don't even remember
- 11:51Speaker 2: selling that one.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It was a long day. Yeah. That's a big boy.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I've sold some big ones. So what?
- 12:01Speaker 2: I'm just saying, can't have it.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Uh, I don't know much about the Falcons cause I
- 12:04Speaker 4: haven't really paid attention. I know their ass, but I
- 12:06Speaker 4: don't know.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It looked a lot better last week.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Like, I don't know much else, but I will say
- 12:11Speaker 4: I need the saints to figure the run game out.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I know ETN's out.
- 12:15Speaker 3: We need a vintage AK game.
- 12:17Speaker 1: We do. We do.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Um, I've got a couple points.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Kendrae can play a quarter. Man. He can play a quarter.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I feel about him like I feel about Marler right now.
- 12:28Speaker 3: It's going to be a fire quarter, though.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So, not great. Okay.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I've got a couple points, a little bullet points about
- 12:34Speaker 2: the Falcons Saints, and we can kind of hit those,
- 12:36Speaker 2: continue talking about the big Monday night matchup and kind
- 12:40Speaker 2: of maybe even pick how we think it's going to
- 12:42Speaker 2: go here. Of course, we've got weekend winners coming up
- 12:45Speaker 2: as well. Stay locked in here. It is OTB.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I go to pelicanroof.com, pelicanroof.com, the website for Pelican Roofing.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Well, they say everybody needs a what, Matthew? A roof.
- 12:57Speaker 2: They do. Residential, commercial, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, two locations. They
- 13:02Speaker 2: are boots on the ground in both locations always. And
- 13:05Speaker 2: I do mean always doing something in the local community
- 13:07Speaker 2: in both locations.
- 13:09Speaker 1: So go to their website today. Check out the five-star reviews.
- 13:13Speaker 2: There are 600 five-star reviews on the homepage of pelicanroof.com.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Go to pelicanroof.com today. Five stars out of what?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Out of five.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Five out of five.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Five out of five. That's a perfect score. Yep. From
- 13:24Speaker 1: the internet. Yes. Meanest place on earth. Yes. Cruel.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And those come in organically. They're not cherry picked.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Interesting. Call Pelican Roof.
- 13:33Speaker 6: If you have a need, if you got a new
- 13:34Speaker 6: house that you just purchased and you don't know like
- 13:36Speaker 6: kind of the age of the roof, like what condition
- 13:38Speaker 6: is it, get them to come out to your house.
- 13:39Speaker 1: They'll take a look. They'll do it for free. They'll
- 13:41Speaker 1: take a look and they'll tell you exactly what needs
- 13:42Speaker 1: to be done. Maybe it's a repair. Maybe it's a repair.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Maybe it's a full replacement. Maybe it's nothing. Pelican Roof,
- 13:47Speaker 6: where everybody needs a roof.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Looking around the house.
- 14:17Speaker 9: All right, welcome.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Back in OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 14:35Speaker 1: What a match we've got our friends over at Pala.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Big industrial projects demand the right experience, the right people,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and the unwavering commitment to safety. That is what Pala
- 14:46Speaker 2: has delivered since 1973. So from turnkey industrial construction and
- 14:50Speaker 2: maintenance to above-ground storage tanks, pressure vessels, fabrication, and structural,
- 14:56Speaker 2: Steel Pala has the expertise and facilities to handle demanding
- 14:59Speaker 2: projects across the Gulf Coast. Always remember, they are employee-owned, relationship-driven,
- 15:05Speaker 2: and built to deliver quality from start to finish. See
- 15:08Speaker 2: what Pala can construct for you at palagroup.com.
- 15:11Speaker 1: P-A-L-A group dot com. Pala, pala, pala. We'll see you today.
- 15:18Speaker 2: All right, a couple things for the Saints and Falcons.
- 15:22Speaker 2: If we're looking at it from the aspect of both
- 15:25Speaker 2: teams for Atlanta, can they carry over the momentum that
- 15:30Speaker 2: they had in their win against Green Bay? The Falcons
- 15:34Speaker 2: looked completely different, certainly on offense, in their 35-14 victory
- 15:38Speaker 2: win at Green Bay, producing nearly 500 yards after scoring
- 15:42Speaker 2: only 16 total points in their first two games. Obviously
- 15:47Speaker 2: for the Saints, another bullet point here. B. John Robinson
- 15:50Speaker 2: is priority number one. He's coming off 194 rushing yards
- 15:55Speaker 2: and two touchdowns. New Orleans has to control the edges.
- 15:59Speaker 2: They kind of tackle, get number seven on the ground,
- 16:02Speaker 2: and keep Atlanta in third and long and try to
- 16:05Speaker 2: put that pressure on, well, you guessed it, Michael Penix Jr.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Now he does change, I think we all agree, the
- 16:11Speaker 2: ceiling for this team. From where they were with Tua Tungvaluwa,
- 16:15Speaker 2: Cooper Rush, Jack Strand, whoever it was, they don't have
- 16:19Speaker 2: the ceiling that a Michael Penix Jr.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Has.
- 16:22Speaker 2: He, in his season debut, looked really good. 18 of 25,
- 16:26Speaker 2: 256 yards, was not sacked either. That's another big one. Now,
- 16:31Speaker 2: Green Bay's rush isn't great, but did not get sacked
- 16:34Speaker 2: in that one. After that interception that he threw early,
- 16:37Speaker 2: he played really well. The thing for the Saints that
- 16:41Speaker 2: I think we're all going to be looking for is
- 16:43Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck against the Atlanta secondary. Shuck, as we know,
- 16:47Speaker 2: is thrown for 917 yards, eight touchdowns through three games.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Chris Alave already has 375 receiving yards.
- 16:55Speaker 1: A.J. Terrell unavailable.
- 16:56Speaker 2: And so that is going to be a matchup that
- 16:59Speaker 2: is going to be in favor of the New Orleans Saints.
- 17:03Speaker 2: As we've talked about already, both teams sitting at one
- 17:05Speaker 2: and two. This is the Saints divisional opener. Atlanta swept
- 17:10Speaker 2: New Orleans last season, and the Saints can tie the
- 17:13Speaker 2: all-time regular season series at 57-57. And as we've mentioned, obviously,
- 17:19Speaker 2: with it being the 20th anniversary celebration of the Dome coming,
- 17:23Speaker 2: where Steve Gleason blocked the punt, everybody went wild. An
- 17:26Speaker 2: incredible night in the Bayou State. This one carries a
- 17:31Speaker 2: lot of weight. This one does, and the Falcons, this
- 17:34Speaker 2: is like, what is this, their second game? Road game
- 17:36Speaker 2: in a row, at least, since they played in Lambeau
- 17:39Speaker 2: last week. But this week, they are walking into a
- 17:44Speaker 2: fever pitch.
- 17:45Speaker 1: A hornet's nest. A hornet's nest.
- 17:48Speaker 6: The Dome is going to be absolutely insane tonight. I
- 17:54Speaker 6: expect the Monday Night Football team, like the lead-up, what's
- 17:59Speaker 6: the new, the Monday Night Countdown show, I expect everything
- 18:02Speaker 6: to be absolute cinema this evening. I think it's going
- 18:05Speaker 6: to be great. I'm sure there's a lot of different
- 18:07Speaker 6: things planned for the fans that are there, for the
- 18:11Speaker 6: TV viewers. And I'm excited to just kind of put
- 18:15Speaker 6: it on at like 5, 5.30 this evening at the
- 18:17Speaker 6: house and just.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Kind of watch the whole build-up to everything. And the
- 18:22Speaker 1: Dome's going to be absolutely rocking. I kind of wish
- 18:24Speaker 1: I was at the Dome tonight.
- 18:25Speaker 6: It's going to be one of those scenes that it's
- 18:27Speaker 6: going to be remembered. And I expect for... and the
- 18:31Speaker 6: coaching staff and that team to reciprocate that. I expect
- 18:34Speaker 6: the Saints to play a badass game tonight. And yes,
- 18:39Speaker 6: the Falcons, like I'm glad they showed up. I'm glad
- 18:41Speaker 6: Pennix is, I'm kind of a fan of Pennix. Like
- 18:43Speaker 6: I was a fan of his in college and I
- 18:45Speaker 6: think that he can be good and he opens up
- 18:47Speaker 6: their offense. I don't think it's going to matter tonight.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they did. They beat the Packers. The Packers are bad.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Packers are not a good football team.
- 18:57Speaker 6: The product that the Saints have put on the field
- 19:00Speaker 6: every week this year overshadows what the Falcons have put
- 19:04Speaker 6: on the field this year. Now, of course it's the
- 19:07Speaker 6: NFL that doesn't necessarily matter, but I think it matters
- 19:10Speaker 6: tonight because the dome is going to be rocking.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I think Tyler Shuck's going to go off. Um, allow
- 19:16Speaker 1: me to introduce myself, Tyler Shuck. Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 6: The whole country is going to be bucking after tonight. Um,
- 19:23Speaker 6: I'm excited about the game. Can't wait to watch. I
- 19:25Speaker 6: will be locked in to the pregame, the buildup, the
- 19:28Speaker 6: lead up, um, Very excited for it.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And like, look at me. Look how far I've come
- 19:34Speaker 1: in the Saints fandom.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'm so proud.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 19:38Speaker 6: I didn't even like, I watched the buildup to the
- 19:40Speaker 6: 20 years ago. We were in college when this happened.
- 19:43Speaker 6: It's not one of the, like, I wasn't like, I
- 19:44Speaker 6: was kind of like a Saints hater at the time
- 19:46Speaker 6: because it was fun to go back and forth with
- 19:49Speaker 6: all my Louisiana guys.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I was one of them.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I was a Saints fan growing up.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And I wasn't, and that's okay. But now I am.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Not a big deal. And it's organic. And it's real.
- 20:02Speaker 2: You did play for them, so you can claim them.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That wasn't the reason.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I think also, aside from having veterans like Cam Jordan
- 20:15Speaker 4: and Alvin Kamara who understand the fan base and the moment,
- 20:20Speaker 4: you also have Tyler Shuck who feels like he's very
- 20:23Speaker 4: much embraced New Orleans and the.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Saints fan base, and he understands how big the moment
- 20:28Speaker 3: is too. So, I don't know. I feel good about it.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I feel good about the game. I mean, the Falcons,
- 20:34Speaker 3: they're pretty bad.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I don't feel good about B. John. I don't feel
- 20:37Speaker 1: great about him. Oh, no.
- 20:39Speaker 5: Ross actually put on Louisiana Sports Network last week, broke
- 20:41Speaker 5: down how great Bijan is, and we know how great
- 20:44Speaker 5: Bijan is. Good news is you've already played Jameer Gibbs,
- 20:48Speaker 5: Derrick Henry, Ashton Gentry. Week one, Gibbs torched you 29 carries,
- 20:52Speaker 5: 156 yards, two touchdowns.
- 20:54Speaker 1: He's awesome.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Next week, Derrick Henry, 16 carries for 68 yards. Then
- 20:59Speaker 5: Ashton Gentry, week three, 19 carries for 56 yards.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You've actually gotten better. Against the run every single week.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Three different, way different running backs. For sure. And Bijan
- 21:11Speaker 1: is compared more to Gibbs.
- 21:14Speaker 5: But you've also been better in the passing game against
- 21:17Speaker 5: the running backs as well. Now, again, to your point,
- 21:19Speaker 5: different types of running backs. But if you want to say,
- 21:21Speaker 5: face it, a big-name running back, something to hang your
- 21:23Speaker 5: hat on, it went from 5.4 per carry to 4.2
- 21:25Speaker 5: to 2.9 last week.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:29Speaker 5: If trends continue, potentially something to watch, can the Saints
- 21:33Speaker 5: actually slow that down a little bit?
- 21:34Speaker 2: One thing that's not good for the Saints, and talking
- 21:38Speaker 2: about the other team's rushing attack, Caden Ellis is going
- 21:41Speaker 2: to be out for this game. Carl Granderson is going
- 21:43Speaker 2: to be out for this game. Pete Warner has been
- 21:46Speaker 2: banged up. I think he's going to go. He's been
- 21:48Speaker 2: questionable all week. That doesn't bode well for you. Anthony
- 21:53Speaker 2: Jennings is out for this game. So you're going to
- 21:56Speaker 2: be doing it with– Not all the way duct tape
- 22:00Speaker 2: and super glue, but it's getting close to there.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Especially if Pete can't go.
- 22:04Speaker 5: If you don't have Pete Werner and Caden Ellis, your
- 22:07Speaker 5: two backers in the middle, that's a problem.
- 22:10Speaker 1: You're not going to have to put duct tape on it.
- 22:11Speaker 1: We're going to put Chuck tape on it. He's going
- 22:13Speaker 1: for 400 plus tonight. 400 plus. We've put the whole thing,
- 22:20Speaker 1: the whole game on his right arm before. It's happening tonight.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I don't care. B. John, you're great. I don't care
- 22:25Speaker 1: if you get 200 yards tonight. You're not going to win.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Tyler Shuck introducing himself to the world. It's kind of
- 22:33Speaker 6: a shame he has to introduce himself tonight. But I
- 22:37Speaker 6: don't think he's fine.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It's kind of games-inducing. Besides, I think last week was
- 22:39Speaker 1: the first time he's played past noon.
- 22:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I think so. Truly.
- 22:45Speaker 1: It's all right, though. You can be bucking tonight. Did
- 22:50Speaker 1: you like that? The Shuck tape? Yeah. The what?
- 22:53Speaker 3: America's going to buck.
- 22:55Speaker 1: America's going to buck hard. On a Monday night, nonetheless.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Prime time. Dang, you think Tyler would like that nickname?
- 23:09Speaker 8: What?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Chuck Tape?
- 23:10Speaker 3: I think so. I think he would like Chuck Tape.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Good in all occasions. Good for everything.
- 23:13Speaker 8: Right.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Could lead to an endorsement down the road, too. Could
- 23:16Speaker 1: lead to a big-time endorsement. Okay.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I don't think he'd hate it.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Marketing genius. I mean, what is, what, I mean, Duck Tape,
- 23:26Speaker 1: does anybody not like Duck Tape? Everybody likes it.
- 23:29Speaker 3: You need duct.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Tape for a lot of different things.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Yeah, scotch tape probably.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Stole a little bit of the show. But it's not
- 23:35Speaker 1: stolen value. It's rightfully.
- 23:36Speaker 3: It's a completely different tape.
- 23:38Speaker 1: He took it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I mean, does scotch tape actually adhere to anything?
- 23:43Speaker 8: No.
- 23:43Speaker 6: Duct tape can fix a lot of things. And Tyler
- 23:46Speaker 6: Shuck's right arm can fix a lot of things.
- 23:48Speaker 3: It can fix a whole franchise.
- 23:50Speaker 1: A whole city.
- 23:54Speaker 2: It's going to be a big Danny Stutzman game.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Some would say the heart of the city.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Some would say that.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Danny Stutzman's neck roll is going to get some work tonight.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Oh, baby.
- 24:06Speaker 3: I do like Danny Stutzman.
- 24:08Speaker 1: He's a meathead. Oh, that's a good point. Shuck tape
- 24:10Speaker 1: could just be like some, we just watched game film
- 24:12Speaker 1: with Tyler.
- 24:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Oh, that would be like, if you had like a
- 24:18Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck only podcast.
- 24:21Speaker 3: A podcast only about Tyler Shuck.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Let's go to the Shuck tape. On this episode, we're
- 24:27Speaker 1: going to tell you where Tyler Shuck went to elementary school.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Forest Hills Elementary. That's where I went to school.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Put glue on a beat. And it died. And it died.
- 24:38Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:39Speaker 2: We'll be back with some weekend winners or losers, depending
- 24:44Speaker 2: on how we're feeling when we come back on OTB.

- 25:01Speaker 1: South Louisiana. What do you mean? Well, the conditions.

- 25:05Speaker 2: you've got some bad weather sometimes. And if you don't
- 25:08Speaker 2: have Russell Pools in the job, I can't tell you
- 25:10Speaker 2: that your pool's going to stand up, stand tall in
- 25:12Speaker 2: that moment, right? But it's always going to be done
- 25:15Speaker 2: right by somebody that knows this area.
- 25:17Speaker 1: That's been in it since the 1960s.
- 25:18Speaker 2: So they're going to be able to customize your pool
- 25:21Speaker 2: as well.
- 25:21Speaker 1: They're going to be able to renovate your pool.
- 25:23Speaker 2: If you bought one with a kidney-shaped pool and you
- 25:25Speaker 2: want to upgrade it, they can do so much. They're
- 25:28Speaker 2: there from the very beginning, throughout the process, and they're
- 25:31Speaker 2: always going to be there for you as the maintenance

- 25:46Speaker 1: Talk to them about your project. They're the best. RussellPools.com.

- 27:01Speaker 2: lacking some energy and lethargic a little bit, or you

- 27:07Speaker 2: wondering why maybe some of your friends can't. Well, your

- 27:36Speaker 1: That's how winning is done.
- 27:37Speaker 2: That's right.
- 27:38Speaker 1: We can't have anyone freak out out there, okay? We've
- 27:41Speaker 1: got to keep our composure. We've got too far. I'm
- 27:45Speaker 1: by winning. I win here and I win there. Now what?
- 27:49Speaker 7: Are you doing what it takes to win a championship?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Wow, winning. Well, then I guess there's only one thing
- 27:56Speaker 1: left to do. What's that? win the whole thing.
- 28:06Speaker 2: All right my first weekend winner is going to be
- 28:11Speaker 2: Braves pitcher Ray Kerr now you probably don't even know
- 28:15Speaker 2: who Ray Kerr is you might not know who Ray
- 28:17Speaker 2: Kerr is even if you're a Braves fan he's a
- 28:19Speaker 2: 32 year old relief pitcher that started a game against
- 28:24Speaker 2: the Phillies in the playoffs a must-win game for the
- 28:27Speaker 2: Braves did really well there okay Then he comes back
- 28:32Speaker 2: and starts in the NLDS against the billion-dollar Dodgers last
- 28:38Speaker 2: night and deals yet again. And kind of came out
- 28:43Speaker 2: of nowhere last night. He goes two and two-thirds, only
- 28:46Speaker 2: gives up two hits, no earned runs, strikes out four
- 28:50Speaker 2: Dodger players in two and two-thirds. And here's a little bit,
- 28:54Speaker 2: if you don't know, of who Ray Kerr is and
- 28:57Speaker 2: his story of how he found his way.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Back to baseball.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Wait, I was not paying attention.
- 29:06Speaker 1: What happened? We're playing sound. Oh, okay.
- 29:08Speaker 8: Here.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Oh, you got to start over. You got to start over, Tate.
- 29:12Speaker 1: You got to start over. Sorry. It's Instagram. I got
- 29:14Speaker 1: to let it run through.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:18Speaker 7: My bad.
- 29:18Speaker 3: That's on me. Chest tap.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Nice.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I don't know how long the video is.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It's a good one, though. Are we close to anything?
- 29:31Speaker 1: I don't.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Can't you just refresh it?
- 29:33Speaker 1: Yeah, can't you just, like, swipe up and swipe down? down?
- 29:43Speaker 1: Instagram's terrible. All right, Matt, weekend winner. Well, that was electric.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I'm going to come back to it.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm going to go. I don't like winners. I'm like
- 29:55Speaker 1: losers this weekend. A big time. Hello.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Is there her NFL referees?
- 30:03Speaker 1: A couple instances this past weekend. It wasn't great. Head
- 30:07Speaker 1: referee Adrian Hill.
- 30:09Speaker 6: Absolute crashing out in the Vikings Dolphins game when Vikings
- 30:14Speaker 6: linebacker Eric Wilson get pushed into him. Absolute crash out
- 30:18Speaker 6: meltdown right on the field. Kind of embarrassing for everybody.
- 30:22Speaker 6: And then Cardinals game.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Lineman. Ref. Jeff Seaman. Line judge. Caught on camera.
- 30:34Speaker 6: Mouthing and yelling F-U, F-U to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. And,
- 30:41Speaker 6: you know, Trey McBride's like, what? And kind of like
- 30:44Speaker 6: looks and is kind of on camera like smirking. Like,
- 30:45Speaker 6: what's this guy's deal? Like, what's his problem?
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yes, okay. Let's not pretend that there aren't curse words said.
- 30:51Speaker 1: On an NFL football field.
- 30:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 1: On the sidelines.
- 30:53Speaker 6: Let's not pretend that coaches and players use profanities towards
- 30:58Speaker 6: referees multiple times. Some referees don't like it. I think
- 31:03Speaker 6: Vrabel's got fined or flagged this past week for cursing
- 31:07Speaker 6: towards a ref.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It happens. I'm not going to say it, but.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Referees typically do it under their breath and they don't... Referees.
- 31:16Speaker 6: have to stay neutral. They cannot get emotional in these games.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Yes, I get it. They have to fight back. Baseball
- 31:22Speaker 1: umpires yell back at coaches when they get yelled at.
- 31:25Speaker 1: But when you're a ref in a football game, you
- 31:28Speaker 1: have complete control of the whole game. If somebody mouths
- 31:32Speaker 1: off at you, you get the whole flag for them.
- 31:34Speaker 6: But if you mouth off to somebody else on a
- 31:36Speaker 6: team or a coach or a player, there's nothing they
- 31:39Speaker 6: can do. When you have complete control of a football game,
- 31:43Speaker 6: you have to have complete control of yourself. So NFL referees,
- 31:48Speaker 6: bad look. I hear that the NFL is investigating Jeff Seaman.
- 31:54Speaker 6: So we'll see how it plays out. We'll see what happens,
- 31:57Speaker 6: but they have to be held accountable for certain things.
- 32:00Speaker 6: And again, I am not oblivious to the fact that
- 32:03Speaker 6: I'm sure there's referees cursing at people all the time.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I heard it.
- 32:06Speaker 6: I've seen it. Referees like this got caught on camera.
- 32:10Speaker 6: I get it, but it got.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Caught on camera.
- 32:12Speaker 6: And when we all get it, if you do something
- 32:14Speaker 6: bad and you get away with it, get away with it.
- 32:16Speaker 6: But once you get caught on camera, something has to change.
- 32:19Speaker 6: Something has to be said.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Losers.
- 32:21Speaker 6: If you have complete control, if you have all the
- 32:24Speaker 6: power in one certain situation, you cannot lose your cool.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:30Speaker 1: And if you do, there are consequences. Losers. Bum. Agreed.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Adrian Hill, by the way. Loser behavior. Head referee. Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Aerospace software engineer. Yeah. That doesn't seem like it takes
- 32:45Speaker 1: no time out of the week. Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 2: So I'm like, what do you want me to do?
- 32:51Speaker 2: The running bag is blocking me.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Like, get up. Get out of the way. What are
- 32:55Speaker 1: you doing? You got embarrassed. Lord, help us. All right.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Let's go to this video.
- 32:59Speaker 1: We go with Ray Kurt?
- 33:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Here's his journey to the Atlanta Braves.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Dolphers coming out of high school.
- 33:06Speaker 8: I had a couple junior college offers. That's about it.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Lassen Community College, Mendocino, Santa Rosa, College of the Redwoods.
- 33:12Speaker 1: That's about it.
- 33:13Speaker 8: I didn't really have much coming out.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Juco Grind. Juco Grind, baby. Juco Grind. Yeah. Free agent
- 33:18Speaker 1: sign out, Juco.
- 33:19Speaker 8: It's a long story with me, bro.
- 33:20Speaker 1: What's your baseball journey just been like?
- 33:22Speaker 8: Well, there was a time I quit baseball for like
- 33:24Speaker 8: a year, 2015, 16. After college, junior college, I stopped playing.
- 33:29Speaker 8: I worked at IMAX Theaters in Reno, Nevada. After that,
- 33:32Speaker 8: I worked at 7-Eleven. I was stocking shelves and shit.
- 33:35Speaker 1: It was freezing in there. I was like, I gotta
- 33:36Speaker 1: do something. This is something else. I went to.
- 33:38Speaker 8: Lassen Community College. From Lassen, still no offers.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I was like, alright.
- 33:41Speaker 8: That's when I decided to play in Alaska League. Sun
- 33:44Speaker 8: never went down up there. I went fishing a lot, bro.
- 33:46Speaker 1: After the Alaska League, still No offers.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I was like, damn.
- 33:49Speaker 8: I was going to Cumberland University in Tennessee. Seattle and
- 33:52Speaker 8: the Marlins called me, wanted to watch me throw a bullpen.
- 33:54Speaker 8: I'm like, hey, yo, let's go.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Come on.
- 33:56Speaker 8: Watch me. Seattle picked me up.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Free agent deal.
- 33:58Speaker 8: Had like a month's worth of MRIs and stuff. I
- 34:01Speaker 8: was like 22 at the time. Pitched one inning in
- 34:03Speaker 8: extended screen training. Got two Ks, a little pop.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Out, like, yeah. After that, low A.
- 34:07Speaker 8: Every year, high A, double A, triple A. The highest
- 34:09Speaker 8: I got with Seattle was triple A, and then they
- 34:12Speaker 8: traded me to the Padres. Made my debut against the Dodgers.
- 34:15Speaker 8: First strikeout was Max Muncy. I didn't watch a lot
- 34:17Speaker 8: of baseball growing up, so I didn't know who he was.
- 34:19Speaker 8: They were like, he struck an all-star. I was like, hey,
- 34:21Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry, guys.
- 34:22Speaker 8: From there, then made my debut, then got traded.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Over here to the Braves. It's been a journey, bro.
- 34:26Speaker 1: It's been a journey. That's pretty cool. Working at 7-Eleven,
- 34:31Speaker 1: the IMAX Theater in Nevada. Good for him.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Juco, no real offers coming out of high school.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Doesn't get drafted.
- 34:40Speaker 2: I think it was like a $ 2, 000.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Free agent deal.
- 34:43Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And then now he's pitching against the Phillies and Bryce
- 34:46Speaker 2: Harper and Schwarber and the Dodgers and Shohei and Freddie Freeman.
- 34:50Speaker 1: What's this guy's name again?
- 34:51Speaker 3: First strikeout, Max Muncy.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Oh, was it Max Muncy? He said his first.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Strikeout was Max Muncy.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That's what he just said.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I think he might have struck him out last night.
- 35:03Speaker 2: That's what I was saying. I think he struck out
- 35:04Speaker 2: Max Muncy last night, too. Ray Kerr, 32 years old,
- 35:09Speaker 2: just now kind of making it. Pretty cool story. And
- 35:12Speaker 2: he was really good again last night against the juggernaut
- 35:16Speaker 2: that is the L.A.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Dodgers.
- 35:18Speaker 2: All right, Ray.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I'll see you, Ray.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'll see you. All right, Ray.
- 35:23Speaker 4: Weekend winner for me, I got to give it to
- 35:25Speaker 4: Bryce Young because I feel like people hate on him
- 35:30Speaker 4: a lot.
- 35:30Speaker 3: He's little. People really around.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I don't know if it's around the NFL, but just
- 35:36Speaker 4: talking heads, stuff you see on the internet, stuff like that.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Just very negative toward Bryce Young and kind of feels
- 35:43Speaker 4: like people root for him to fail.
- 35:45Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 35:45Speaker 2: A little bit, it does.
- 35:47Speaker 1: He's been bad in the past.
- 35:49Speaker 3: He has, yeah. I mean, maybe rightfully so, but yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 4: I guess my point is that he looked really good
- 35:55Speaker 4: last night and the Panthers have looked pretty good through...
- 35:58Speaker 4: the season so far, so weekend winner for me, Bryce Young.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I like to see people succeed, especially after they've had
- 36:07Speaker 4: a rough go of it, like that guy, Ray Kerr.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 3: I mean, like, he's had a rough go of it,
- 36:12Speaker 3: and he's... It.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Didn't seem like he blamed anybody. No. Just like, you
- 36:16Speaker 1: got to keep working.
- 36:17Speaker 3: He just went to work.
- 36:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And given opportunities.
- 36:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Like, how many times have we seen a player like that? And,
- 36:24Speaker 6: of course, I get draft position... It's a cure-all for
- 36:27Speaker 6: a lot of things, but still, like, we just saw J.J.
- 36:30Speaker 6: McCarthy traded.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 1: In a similar type of situation, first round. But given
- 36:36Speaker 1: the opportunities, the coaching staff believed in him, and the
- 36:40Speaker 1: coaching staff's doing a hell of a job.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Also, weekend winner Dave Canales just for being maybe one
- 36:46Speaker 4: of the better-looking coaches in the NFL.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Good genes.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we were watching the game last night
- 36:51Speaker 2: because Memphis is a Panthers guy. So we got the
- 36:54Speaker 2: split screen of the Dodgers and Braves. And Kay's like.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Who's the Panthers coach? And I was like, why are
- 37:01Speaker 1: you asking?
- 37:02Speaker 3: Why are you curious?
- 37:03Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, you're right. She didn't even say why.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I know why you're asking.
- 37:06Speaker 3: He's on the list.
- 37:08Speaker 1: He's a good dude. He was in Seattle when I
- 37:09Speaker 1: was there. Oh, was he?
- 37:10Speaker 3: So he's hot and a good dude?
- 37:12Speaker 1: He had to be 12 at the time. Pretty much.
- 37:14Speaker 1: He looked the exact same, actually. Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 8: Dang.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Dang.
- 37:18Speaker 1: All right. Some people just have it all. He's got
- 37:19Speaker 1: his fastball, whatever.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Some people just have it all.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right. Save some for the rest of us, I
- 37:25Speaker 1: believe is the saying.
- 37:28Speaker 5: Weekend winner for me goes to the Yale versus Merrimack game.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Tony Reno, longtime Yale coach, stepped down at the end
- 37:36Speaker 5: of last year due to health reasons. Well, he passed
- 37:39Speaker 5: away on Friday. He's their ex-head coach. Well, his son,
- 37:43Speaker 5: Dante Reno, is the quarterback at Yale today. He played
- 37:46Speaker 5: in the game on Saturday, the day after his dad
- 37:48Speaker 5: passed away.
- 37:49Speaker 1: No big deal.
- 37:50Speaker 5: 298 yards, four touchdowns, and a 41-24 victory over Mary Mac.
- 37:55Speaker 5: So shout out Dante Reno. That has to be a
- 37:57Speaker 5: tough thing to do in an impossible situation. And he
- 38:00Speaker 5: goes in there and does it. Dante Reno goes to
- 38:02Speaker 5: South Carolina out of high school. Leaves, goes to play
- 38:05Speaker 5: for his dad last year. Not knowing that his dad's
- 38:08Speaker 5: going to have to step down at the end of
- 38:09Speaker 5: the year due to health reasons.
- 38:11Speaker 1: He does. He sticks with the Yale program. His dad
- 38:13Speaker 1: passes away. He balls out, gets the big time win.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So shout out to Dante Reno. Love it. That's cool.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I didn't see that one.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it was cool after the game to see him
- 38:23Speaker 2: talk about it.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Well, they were also down in the game, and then
- 38:26Speaker 5: he let them back. I think they ended the game
- 38:27Speaker 5: on like a 34-7 run to win the game.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Wow. Awesome. I got one. You got one? Weekend winner. Adrenaline. Okay.
- 38:41Speaker 1: You're a winner.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I know where you're going with this.
- 38:43Speaker 6: Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Taequann Thornton on a big
- 38:47Speaker 6: third and four. Chiefs were down at the time. This
- 38:50Speaker 6: was three and a half minutes left in the fourth quarter.
- 38:52Speaker 6: They're down 19-17. In their own territory, Chiefs Patrick Williams
- 38:58Speaker 6: drops back, throws a dot down the field on kind
- 39:02Speaker 6: of a deep crosser route over Al. Taequann Thornton makes
- 39:04Speaker 6: a really nice catch. You can tell adrenaline of the
- 39:07Speaker 6: moment makes the catch. Gets tackled from behind. He stands
- 39:12Speaker 6: up to celebrate, excited, puts his right foot in the ground,
- 39:16Speaker 6: everything's cool, his hands are out, tries to put his
- 39:18Speaker 6: left foot on the ground, realizes his foot is pointed backwards.
- 39:22Speaker 6: And has to lay back down. But I was like,
- 39:25Speaker 6: what happened? Like, like he just got up to celebrate.
- 39:29Speaker 6: My God, weekend winner adrenaline. You can do some crazy things,
- 39:33Speaker 6: but that dude's foot was pointed the opposite direction. And
- 39:38Speaker 6: you didn't even know you got up trying to celebrate,
- 39:40Speaker 6: trying to put your foot down and celebrate probably the
- 39:43Speaker 6: biggest play of your career.
- 39:44Speaker 3: That was one of the most brutal videos I've ever seen.
- 39:47Speaker 6: It was wild. Did you see the lineman, his teammate,
- 39:52Speaker 6: come up to him and be like, hey, bro, what's up?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Hit him on the chest. You okay? You okay? And
- 39:55Speaker 1: he points. He's like, look. He does show that. Huh?
- 39:59Speaker 1: He's like, look. And then the lineman turns and looks,
- 40:01Speaker 1: and he's like, oh, no. Okay, I like you, but
- 40:03Speaker 1: I can't look at that. Yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 2: That's a big loss for them. He's made a bunch
- 40:10Speaker 2: of plays. I don't know if you all remember, but
- 40:13Speaker 2: we caught up. Like, I joined the show right after
- 40:16Speaker 2: Chiefs camp, and I was telling y'all, like, he's about
- 40:18Speaker 2: to have a monster year.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Because, like, he was his go-to target at practice, and
- 40:22Speaker 2: he's had some big plays already this year, big touchdowns,
- 40:24Speaker 2: and that's a big loss for the Chiefs.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it's going to be a blow because he's their
- 40:29Speaker 5: big play guy down the field. Like, they wanted Worthy
- 40:31Speaker 5: to be that guy. He just hasn't been. He's up.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Worthy's playing okay, though. Yeah, but not, like, shots down
- 40:37Speaker 1: the field.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Like, Tyquan Thornton is their home run guy taking shots
- 40:41Speaker 5: down the field.
- 40:41Speaker 1: They don't really have another guy like that. Now, are
- 40:43Speaker 1: the Chiefs now the last undefeated? They're 4-0. No, the
- 40:46Speaker 1: Niners are 4-0. Niners, that's right.
- 40:49Speaker 6: But I have, like, I've seen the rumor mill starting
- 40:53Speaker 6: to pick up for when he gets cleared, Tyreek Hill,
- 40:58Speaker 6: Chiefs might be looking for a reunion.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Even more so now because their big play threat, Gordon.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Is down. And it would make a lot of sense.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Yep.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Good job. I made a journalist.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I just like my foot hurts thinking about it.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Isn't that great? Like what you're like, your brain.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Is making me cringe so hard.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. I'm just going to turn off.
- 41:21Speaker 8: Oh my God.
- 41:21Speaker 3: I can't. I need to stop thinking about it. It's
- 41:25Speaker 3: literally like.
- 41:27Speaker 9: All right.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Bone breaking. I can't do.
- 41:30Speaker 1: We'll take a break.

- 44:00Speaker 1: Final prediction. What's the score tonight? Ooh, what's the score tonight?
- 44:11Speaker 7: 38.
- 44:13Speaker 2: 27.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 44:16Speaker 3: High scoring game.
- 44:20Speaker 1: It's going to be fun. I do have a fun
- 44:24Speaker 1: stat for y'all. Love a fun stat. Currently, Tyler Shuck has.
- 44:31Speaker 6: More passing yards than Geno Smith, Deshaun Watson, Drake May,
- 44:35Speaker 6: Trevor Lawrence, Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, Cam Ward, Jalen Hurts,
- 44:42Speaker 6: Baker Mayfield.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Got more passing yards than them.
- 44:45Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And he's played one less game than all of those players.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I'd love to hear it.
- 44:50Speaker 6: And he's played one less game. So after tonight, after
- 44:54Speaker 6: he throws for 400 bills plus, Oh, it's going to
- 44:59Speaker 6: be great.
- 45:00Speaker 1: He's going to be leading the league. He's going to
- 45:01Speaker 1: have a big game tonight. Anyway, sorry. Score predictions.
- 45:05Speaker 3: The total is 47 and a half.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Too low.
- 45:08Speaker 8: 24-21, Saints.
- 45:10Speaker 1: 24-21. I'm going to say 31-23. Ooh.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I was going to say 31-27.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Saints, of course.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Saints, duh.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Ooh, what you say. But we'll take 3-0. Hell, we'll
- 45:39Speaker 1: take 2-0. It'll be boring. To you. I want entertainment.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I want to be entertained. Yeah, I could be entertained.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Win the crowd. Are you not entertained?
- 45:49Speaker 6: Saints, you're going to have the crowd. You've already won
- 45:52Speaker 6: the crowd, but win them more.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Win the audience.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Reward the crowd. How about that? I do want Chuck
- 45:58Speaker 1: to go off.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I want the rest of the world to see what
- 46:02Speaker 2: we're able to see. We've seen since the back half
- 46:06Speaker 2: of last year. And you can do that on a
- 46:08Speaker 2: Monday night.
- 46:10Speaker 1: The opportunity is yours. You asked for it.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Seize the day.
- 46:15Speaker 1: The world is your oyster. Now Chuck it. Carpet.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Oh, I like that. I like that.
- 46:20Speaker 1: That one hit. Thank you. Carpe that DM. All right.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I saw him in the hallway, so I guess he's
- 46:30Speaker 2: here to talk about one of his three SEC teams.
- 46:33Speaker 2: A little Marler Monday when we come back.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Off the bench. All right.
