- 3:56Speaker 2: Hello? Hello?
- 3:58Speaker 6: How are you doing on this sensational Sunday?
- 4:05Speaker 2: I am doing fine.
- 4:07Speaker 6: This is season two of the Crew podcast and we
- 4:12Speaker 6: use those divas of the airways and this is my
- 4:17Speaker 6: bonus show. So earlier today I was minding my business
- 4:24Speaker 6: and drinking my water and I began to have a
- 4:28Speaker 6: thought about something we're gonna talk about on tonight. But
- 4:34Speaker 6: before that, we're gonna do like we always do. We're
- 4:39Speaker 6: gonna pray and let God have his ways and everything
- 4:44Speaker 6: that we do, because the Word says that in everything
- 4:49Speaker 6: you do, do it in Jesus' name. So, Dear Heavenly Father,
- 4:58Speaker 6: and the press is max name of your son, Jesus.
- 5:02Speaker 6: I've come to you tonight, God, asking you to forgive
- 5:06Speaker 6: me of any citying sins done in this body. God,
- 5:12Speaker 6: I thank you for this platform on tonight. I thank
- 5:18Speaker 6: you for the visionary on tonight. Continue to anoint her
- 5:24Speaker 6: with anointing from on h.
- 5:29Speaker 2: God.
- 5:29Speaker 6: Each and every one of my podcasts, you know what
- 5:34Speaker 6: they're in need of tonight.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Because it says that even when we.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Don't know how to pray, Jesus is acting in ancestry
- 5:43Speaker 6: for us. So you know the desires of their heart God, paraingam,
- 5:48Speaker 6: the desires of their.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Heart God, in the name of Jesus.
- 5:53Speaker 6: And everything that we do, God, let it be done
- 5:57Speaker 6: for the glory of you God. In the press's name
- 6:02Speaker 6: of Jesus, we do pray a man and a man
- 6:06Speaker 6: and a man. And our quote for tonight is alone
- 6:14Speaker 6: we can do so little. Together we can do so much.
- 6:21Speaker 6: And this is.
- 6:22Speaker 2: From the Great Helen Keller.
- 6:25Speaker 6: So or tonight we're gonna The questions that I was
- 6:31Speaker 6: thinking about earlier today is why can't women seem to
- 6:37Speaker 6: get together and collaborate? Why are we always in competition
- 6:45Speaker 6: with each other? And if we did work together as one,
- 6:50Speaker 6: what does that look like? So one tonight, I'm really
- 6:55Speaker 6: not going to harp on the reasons that women don't
- 7:01Speaker 6: get along.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But.
- 7:05Speaker 6: Paint a picture of what we can do if we
- 7:09Speaker 6: work together. Madeline Albright, the first ever female US Senate
- 7:18Speaker 6: Secretary of State, once said there is a special place
- 7:23Speaker 6: in hell.
- 7:24Speaker 2: For women who don't help each other.
- 7:31Speaker 6: While I agree with Allbright's statement, I prefer the more
- 7:37Speaker 6: inspirings called the actions from our friends that women leaders
- 7:43Speaker 6: in college sports, strong women lift each other up. I
- 7:53Speaker 6: also wholeheartedly support the empowering missions of life Minded Female
- 8:02Speaker 6: orient or oriented alldation just like cheap, which is designed
- 8:11Speaker 6: for the most powerful women and elect an executive leadership
- 8:16Speaker 6: to strengthen their leadership, magnify their influence, and pave the
- 8:24Speaker 6: way to bring others with them. That's the most important
- 8:30Speaker 6: thing that I think that when we achieve a degree
- 8:36Speaker 6: of success, that we should bring others with us.
- 8:42Speaker 2: That if you know resources that will.
- 8:51Speaker 6: But share them with other women to bring mail up.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I'm reminded of a story a couple of years ago.
- 9:04Speaker 6: I was at a fashion show and I was vending
- 9:07Speaker 6: my books at that fashion show. So sitting right next
- 9:12Speaker 6: to me was another vendor of books, and she was
- 9:17Speaker 6: vending her books. My books were inspiratial books and her
- 9:21Speaker 6: books were children books. So we went halfway through the
- 9:27Speaker 6: fashion show and I had to use the restrooms. So
- 9:30Speaker 6: as I was walking past her, I said, I'm a teacher,
- 9:35Speaker 6: so when I come back, I'm gonna look at your
- 9:38Speaker 6: book and buy it for my classroom. So I went
- 9:42Speaker 6: to the lady room and came back and was asking
- 9:47Speaker 6: her about her book and everything. And she was telling
- 9:49Speaker 6: me that she was a first time writer and.
- 9:53Speaker 2: This was a first book.
- 9:55Speaker 6: And I had a few books under my belt by then,
- 9:59Speaker 6: so I was selling her that if a lot of
- 10:02Speaker 6: times when I'm looking for certain things or certain vendor opportunities,
- 10:09Speaker 6: I find a lot of people who want children authors.
- 10:14Speaker 6: So I was gonna, you know, took her information and said,
- 10:18Speaker 6: you know, I'll help you with any resources that I know,
- 10:23Speaker 6: and I bought a book, and then later on her
- 10:27Speaker 6: husband came and purchased my book. So later that night
- 10:33Speaker 6: on Facebook, she made a post that the whole evening
- 10:38Speaker 6: while she was sitting at the table vending, she wanted
- 10:41Speaker 6: to come over and say something to me, but because
- 10:45Speaker 6: we were both authors and she had had some negative
- 10:49Speaker 6: experiences with other female authors that were vending and the
- 10:54Speaker 6: same place that she was, that she was a little
- 10:57Speaker 6: reluctant to come Jimmy, And she was like, you know,
- 11:04Speaker 6: that changed her perspective because I wasn't in competition with her,
- 11:08Speaker 6: And I was like no, when she said that, I said, no,
- 11:12Speaker 6: I'm not in competition with you, because what is for
- 11:16Speaker 6: me is for me, and anything that I know that
- 11:19Speaker 6: can help another woman on her journey, I'm gonna share
- 11:23Speaker 6: that information.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So God is so good that that night.
- 11:30Speaker 6: A founder of an organization was looking for children authors
- 11:38Speaker 6: to showcase at Barnes and Nobles.
- 11:43Speaker 2: And when I.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Called up and told her that information, she was so
- 11:48Speaker 6: excited because she said she had been trying to get
- 11:51Speaker 6: at Barnes and Nobles, but because my influence wasn't that
- 11:55Speaker 6: great that they went. They said, you know, as she
- 11:59Speaker 6: builds up client tele she can try again. But through
- 12:03Speaker 6: this organization she was able to get in and we
- 12:08Speaker 6: were talking and she was like, I thought, you know,
- 12:10Speaker 6: you were just talking or whatever. I was like, you know, no,
- 12:14Speaker 6: that we as women have to work together. So that's
- 12:18Speaker 6: what the story time that I was thinking about that
- 12:23Speaker 6: made me think of this topic that women that one
- 12:29Speaker 6: by one we have a little power, but when we
- 12:33Speaker 6: work together collectively we have an impact. So I might
- 12:40Speaker 6: over here at the Crew podcast is that we want
- 12:47Speaker 6: to be the change that we want to see. So
- 12:51Speaker 6: if we want to be the change that we want
- 12:54Speaker 6: to see, we need to see what it looks like
- 12:58Speaker 6: when women work together. So over the course of my career,
- 13:04Speaker 6: I've learned and experience that a woman alone has power,
- 13:08Speaker 6: but collectively we have impact if we can get past
- 13:14Speaker 6: scarcity mindset and overcome some of the internal and external
- 13:20Speaker 6: barriers holding us back, the opportunities that women collaborating with
- 13:27Speaker 6: the other women can unlock a limitless Let's look take
- 13:32Speaker 6: a closer look as what's possible when we embrace a
- 13:38Speaker 6: limited collective mindset and what the world's look like when
- 13:44Speaker 6: empowered women empower other women. First, some of the misbusting
- 13:52Speaker 6: of the notion of women not helping each other. For starters,
- 13:58Speaker 6: we need to disrupt and abandon the stereotype that women
- 14:03Speaker 6: don't support other women. There's a ton of research out
- 14:07Speaker 6: there showing that women actually benefit from corporation over competition.
- 14:17Speaker 6: Study after study shows that women who support women are
- 14:23Speaker 6: more successful in business, and new research at the Harvard
- 14:30Speaker 6: Business Review finds that women who have an inner circle
- 14:36Speaker 6: of close female contracts contact are more likely to land
- 14:42Speaker 6: executive positions with greater op.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Authority and higher pay, while there was no.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Link found for the success of men in terms of
- 14:57Speaker 6: gender composition of their in a circle. Why women stepping
- 15:05Speaker 6: into leadership roles are faced with thematic obstacles that make
- 15:11Speaker 6: it more difficult for them the advance. The study suggests
- 15:17Speaker 6: that a way to overcome some of these hurdles is
- 15:21Speaker 6: to form close connections with other women who can share
- 15:26Speaker 6: experiences from women who have been there, done that, from
- 15:32Speaker 6: how to ask for what your word to bring in
- 15:36Speaker 6: unique talents to leadership. Instead of going in alone, we
- 15:41Speaker 6: can lean and raise each other up.
- 15:46Speaker 2: So how do we begin to do this?
- 15:51Speaker 6: Prioritize relationship building with other women, especially in the workplace.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Developing meaningful professional relationships and connection takes time, intention, and effort.
- 16:10Speaker 2: How much time.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Do you spend nurturing your professional relationships with other women
- 16:19Speaker 6: inside and outside are your company organization. If the answer
- 16:25Speaker 6: is not much or none, I encourage you to challenge
- 16:29Speaker 6: yourself to change this pattern. Start by lifting up other
- 16:35Speaker 6: women around you with your words and action. If you
- 16:43Speaker 6: see our coworker doing a great job, give them credit.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Be secure enough in yourself to recognize others strengths and contributions.
- 16:59Speaker 6: When we are around other women, we can quickly fall
- 17:03Speaker 6: victim to the scarcity mentality, the idea that there are
- 17:09Speaker 6: a limited number of jobs.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Promotion opportunities, et cetera.
- 17:16Speaker 6: But if we step into a limitless mindset, we realize
- 17:22Speaker 6: that we're never truly missing out. There's a perfect fit
- 17:29Speaker 6: for all of us. And when you help lift other
- 17:34Speaker 6: women up, we all rise. It's like if you go
- 17:39Speaker 6: into a grocery store, you'll see owls of different kind
- 17:47Speaker 6: of bread, and the person who is designing a new
- 17:54Speaker 6: form of bread doesn't say to themselves, well, there's a
- 17:58Speaker 6: lot of bread here, and as the wonder bread has
- 18:01Speaker 6: been around for a long time, so I won't invent
- 18:04Speaker 6: my bread. But every time you go to the supermarket,
- 18:09Speaker 6: it's a new brand of bread. Because you have to
- 18:12Speaker 6: believe in yourself. One of the things that we have
- 18:16Speaker 6: to do as women is build up our own self estive,
- 18:20Speaker 6: because if you have a low self estive, you're gonna
- 18:25Speaker 6: view other women as competition. How limited women can move
- 18:35Speaker 6: past a scarcity mindset and lift each other up. A
- 18:40Speaker 6: limited mindset is based on an idea that there are
- 18:45Speaker 6: endless opportunities.
- 18:49Speaker 2: In life if we're willing.
- 18:51Speaker 6: To step outside our conference zone and bravely navigate the
- 18:57Speaker 6: internal or internal or external constraints that we face.
- 19:04Speaker 2: When we step.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Into a leader limited mindset, as leaders, we can empower,
- 19:12Speaker 6: give strength and confidence.
- 19:15Speaker 2: To those around us.
- 19:17Speaker 6: Through our thoughts and actions, we can lead and inspire
- 19:22Speaker 6: others to be more and do more and service of
- 19:30Speaker 6: the greater collective impact we are seeking. So when we
- 19:36Speaker 6: build up other women and make them see the potential
- 19:41Speaker 6: and them that we don't view them as competition. That
- 19:45Speaker 6: you always want to keep the other woman down there,
- 19:49Speaker 6: so you can be a bear because you think that
- 19:53Speaker 6: it's only a limited amount of opportunities. So if you
- 19:58Speaker 6: don't grab that opportunit unity, someone is gonna You're gonna
- 20:03Speaker 6: build someone else up and then they will be just
- 20:07Speaker 6: as good as you. But you should not have that viewpoint.
- 20:12Speaker 6: You should have the viewpoint of when you build up
- 20:16Speaker 6: another woman and you'll join forces. That alone, yeah, you
- 20:21Speaker 6: can be a powerful woman an army of one, but
- 20:26Speaker 6: you would only have a limited amount of influence. But
- 20:32Speaker 6: when you build up other women and you'll join forces,
- 20:36Speaker 6: that's when you make impact.
- 20:38Speaker 2: That's when you make change. That one woman alone can't change.
- 20:43Speaker 6: The system, but if a group of women stand together,
- 20:47Speaker 6: they can change the system. And this positive impact driven environment,
- 20:54Speaker 6: strong cultures and relationship can form, and when women are
- 21:00Speaker 6: represent it, there's a potential for something very powerful to emerge.
- 21:07Speaker 6: Within these environments called shared system, a phrase coin by
- 21:14Speaker 6: Tina Opie, Associate Professor of Management at Babson College. Opie
- 21:23Speaker 6: calls for women to lift each other up and fight
- 21:28Speaker 6: systematic bias in the workplace, and to be more honest
- 21:33Speaker 6: with each other, forming truer bonds, which involves listening, understanding yourself,
- 21:42Speaker 6: and a willingness to take risks. When we view our
- 21:46Speaker 6: relationships with other women and what we're capable of doing
- 21:52Speaker 6: together through a limitless lens, we are able to move heath,
- 21:59Speaker 6: discussing mindset and achieve great things together. When limited women collaborate,
- 22:08Speaker 6: we have the power to change the world. Limitless women
- 22:14Speaker 6: working together have the power to change not only the workplace,
- 22:20Speaker 6: but also to change the world. A great Readson example
- 22:26Speaker 6: of this is in the United States Women National Soccer
- 22:31Speaker 6: League Women for.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Victoria battle for equal play pay.
- 22:40Speaker 6: One player operated alone could have never achieved this outcome.
- 22:45Speaker 6: By working together, these women were able to change arts, minds,
- 22:51Speaker 6: and policies and move the needle towards a more equal world.
- 22:58Speaker 2: These women were.
- 23:01Speaker 6: And share the limited mindset which enabled them to navigate
- 23:08Speaker 6: adversity and emerge victorious. What examples of limited women working
- 23:14Speaker 6: together have inspired you. What change in the world do
- 23:20Speaker 6: you wish to see and how can you join with
- 23:27Speaker 6: other women to work towards this change. I believe that
- 23:37Speaker 6: we're stronger as women when we help each other and
- 23:41Speaker 6: work together. Who is the go to group of women
- 23:46Speaker 6: you would look to if you're had an emergency, needed honors, advice,
- 23:52Speaker 6: or wanted a key business introduction?
- 23:56Speaker 2: And to whom do you provide this support?
- 24:02Speaker 6: Find your squad and help each other. When it comes
- 24:07Speaker 6: to building relationships, you often get what you give. Be
- 24:13Speaker 6: honest with yourself and put yourself to do more for
- 24:19Speaker 6: and with other women to make the world a more
- 24:23Speaker 6: equal place.
- 24:30Speaker 2: We have bumped our heads on.
- 24:33Speaker 6: The perverbal glass ceiling and realize that we cannot change
- 24:39Speaker 6: these systems by working alone. Only through working together as
- 24:46Speaker 6: women and having each other's back can we make our difference.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Do you want to be the change that you want
- 25:02Speaker 6: to see? Stop viewing other women as competition. If you
- 25:09Speaker 6: have resources that will help build up another woman, share
- 25:15Speaker 6: those resources with them, Because, as I said in the beginning,
- 25:23Speaker 6: the quote by Helen Keller that said, alone we can
- 25:35Speaker 6: do so little, but together we can do so much.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So that's it.
- 25:49Speaker 6: That's what I was thinking about today that how we
- 25:53Speaker 6: can be the change that we want to see and
- 25:56Speaker 6: how we can work together as women shameless plug. That's
- 26:03Speaker 6: what I love about the Crew podcast is a group
- 26:08Speaker 6: of women that all have their separate podcasts, but we
- 26:14Speaker 6: come together, lift each other up, share resources among each other,
- 26:20Speaker 6: share guests among each other. We're not in no competition
- 26:26Speaker 6: which each other is collaboration over competition. That's one of
- 26:32Speaker 6: the reasons why I love the Crew podcast. And if
- 26:36Speaker 6: you want to be connected with a group of like
- 26:41Speaker 6: minded women and start your own podcasts, get together with
- 26:49Speaker 6: Queen Angela. She is truly a woman that does not
- 26:57Speaker 6: believe in competition, but that as she goes higher, she
- 27:05Speaker 6: takes us with her. She shares opportunities with us. She
- 27:10Speaker 6: doesn't keep opportunities just for herself and don't enhance the
- 27:18Speaker 6: other women that are in her network. So if you
- 27:22Speaker 6: want to be a part of a supportive network like that,
- 27:28Speaker 6: we're looking for.
- 27:30Speaker 2: More women.
- 27:32Speaker 6: To branch out and find out what we can do together.
- 27:38Speaker 6: We are more we making if we want to make
- 27:41Speaker 6: not only just a change in our life and our mindset,
- 27:49Speaker 6: but we want to make an impact on the world.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Join the Crew Podcast. And like always, I'm gonna end.
- 27:57Speaker 2: With a prayer.
- 27:59Speaker 6: They have a father. In the name of your Christ,
- 28:02Speaker 6: of your Son, Jesus, we come to you on tonight,
- 28:07Speaker 6: thanking you for this platform, Thanking you for a group
- 28:11Speaker 6: of women who will embrace collaboration over competition. Thanking you
- 28:19Speaker 6: God for the resources, Thanking you for stirring up our
- 28:24Speaker 6: gifts and talents. Thank you for enabling us to use
- 28:29Speaker 6: what's in our hand to impact the world. In the
- 28:36Speaker 6: precious name of Jesus, we thank you on tonight once again,
- 28:42Speaker 6: we thank you for every woman that is the part
- 28:45Speaker 6: of the group. God, every woman who's coming, every woman
- 28:49Speaker 6: who's willing to say I want to be the change.
- 28:53Speaker 6: I want to be the change that I want to see.
- 28:56Speaker 6: I want to make an impact on the world. I
- 28:59Speaker 6: want to in these women, Hallelujah, who are making a
- 29:03Speaker 6: change for the kingdom, working together as one unity. In
- 29:10Speaker 6: the name of Jesus, we pray on tonight. And if
- 29:13Speaker 6: there's anyone out there that's listening that don't know the
- 29:16Speaker 6: Jesus I'm talking about, ah, it's as easy for you
- 29:20Speaker 6: to confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the
- 29:24Speaker 6: Son of God crucified and risen again and find yourself Bible,
- 29:30Speaker 6: believe in church, and you are saved and you will
- 29:34Speaker 6: grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I thank you,
- 29:40Speaker 6: I thank you for being a part of my bonus show.
- 29:44Speaker 6: I will be back on Wednesday night with my regular show.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I thank you, I thank you.
- 29:54Speaker 6: If you need to know someone who needs to hear
- 29:57Speaker 6: this message, share it with them, make a comment.
- 30:02Speaker 2: In the name of Jesus. Good night, good night.
- 30:06Speaker 6: I'm going back to drinking my water and trying to
- 30:10Speaker 6: mind my business and you do the same.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Good night.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Tune in to the All Who Live Again podcast show
- 30:21Speaker 3: with your host, Amma Thomas. For God so love the
- 30:24Speaker 3: world that it gave us only begotten son, that who
- 30:26Speaker 3: should ever shall believe, shall not perish My hoever.
- 30:30Speaker 5: That's
