- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whistle Stocking fund Ball,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they wear the whistle. So yes, but don't you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles Welcome, presented by
- 0:21Speaker 1: Draft Kings sports Book, an official sports betting partner of
- 0:23Speaker 1: the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app and used to
- 0:26Speaker 1: code Bobby sports to get in on the action. Looking
- 0:29Speaker 1: like Kevin bowl the whistle because he was the only
- 0:30Speaker 1: one that's able to watch the games for the most part.
- 0:33Speaker 1: All right, let the show start. We were traveling all weekend.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I watched some college games, and then I watched I
- 0:41Speaker 1: guess probably every NFL game on the little cartoon screen
- 0:44Speaker 1: on the ESPN app. Oh that's tough man, watching the
- 0:47Speaker 1: little ball go back and forth. Sometimes they're wrong, are
- 0:50Speaker 1: they really? Yeah, it's like fumble. Then it's like reviews
- 0:53Speaker 1: and it's just weird stuff. He can't really keep up.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So I was able to watch all the highlights, but
- 0:58Speaker 1: still really leaning on Kevin. We're in Vegas all weekend.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Uh so Jay Glazer coming up. Ricky Williams should be
- 1:05Speaker 1: on the show on Friday. But let's warm it up first.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Do you wear any jewelry at all? If so, what
- 1:11Speaker 1: jewelry do you wear? All right, that's the warm up question,
- 1:13Speaker 1: EDDI going to your first very interesting. I don't wear jewelry.
- 1:16Speaker 1: The only thing I have is my wedding ring. The
- 1:19Speaker 1: original wedding ring I had I lost playing golf. I
- 1:21Speaker 1: put in my back pocket, played the round, and then
- 1:24Speaker 1: when I ended the round, I reached back to get
- 1:26Speaker 1: it and it was gone. Dude, I went all over
- 1:28Speaker 1: that golf course looking for that ring, never found it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: How long ago was that? Nine years ago? Nine years ago?
- 1:34Speaker 1: So now I wear a rubber wedding ring. That's what
- 1:36Speaker 1: I wear. Those are popular right right now? I just
- 1:38Speaker 1: wear it's only read when I can find. I have
- 1:40Speaker 1: a nice one because once my wife got hers. But
- 1:43Speaker 1: it's not too shab you know what I'm saying. I
- 1:46Speaker 1: was like, I need to give me one that's awesome,
- 1:48Speaker 1: So I bought one. It's got diamonds in it all
- 1:50Speaker 1: around the inside of it. And then I don't wear
- 1:52Speaker 1: it because it's just metal on your finger. It's weird.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I like the rubber. I'd be nervous to know. I
- 1:58Speaker 1: don't like to lose it. Well, I mean, I wasn't
- 2:00Speaker 1: nervous until I lost it, and then you're just like,
- 2:02Speaker 1: oh crap, I lost my wedding ring, like that's a
- 2:04Speaker 1: big deal. Yeah yeah, I guess mine's more uncomfortable than nervous.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'm I'll go I wear a watch most days now.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I've show myself in to watch Guy. In the last
- 2:10Speaker 1: year and a half, never wore a watch over my life,
- 2:12Speaker 1: and I just said, I'm gonna be watched Guy. That's
- 2:14Speaker 1: gonna be one thing. I do this mature and so
- 2:16Speaker 1: I wear to Watch five six days a week. And
- 2:18Speaker 1: then I wear this and I wish I was cool
- 2:20Speaker 1: enough to pull off other stuff, but I'm not. Like necklaces.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Let me Yeah, yeah, I want to suit this weekend,
- 2:24Speaker 1: which is a white T shirt that I'd be cool for.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I like a necklace or a chain. I should say
- 2:29Speaker 1: change right right, It's like you are Tiara now necklace.
- 2:35Speaker 1: The chain is a necklace, but necklace hands kind of
- 2:37Speaker 1: like a woman whoars a necklace, right, Yeah, I agree.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You gotta say it chain, guys, Come on, it sounds cool.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Can we please move on? Mike any jewelry the same
- 2:44Speaker 1: with you, guys. I wear the rubber wedding ring. I
- 2:47Speaker 1: used to wear the real one and I lost it
- 2:48Speaker 1: in a parking lot, was able to find it, but
- 2:51Speaker 1: ever since then, keep with the rubber one. I feel
- 2:53Speaker 1: like Kevin's the only one cool enough. I don't know
- 2:54Speaker 1: if you wear jewelry or not, but I feel like
- 2:55Speaker 1: you're the only cool one here, Like you could wear
- 2:57Speaker 1: jewelry if you wanted to see. I'm like you, though,
- 2:59Speaker 1: so I wear the watch. I haven't always, probably last
- 3:01Speaker 1: four or five years, but I want a necklace too.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I've been thinking about their chain. Sorry chain you got
- 3:08Speaker 1: in my head corrupted him, But I've been thinking about
- 3:10Speaker 1: getting a chain for a while now. But I just
- 3:12Speaker 1: it's one of those. It's one of you just gotta
- 3:14Speaker 1: do it. I guess Ryan heard got me a chain once.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It was like this, you should wear this. You still
- 3:19Speaker 1: haven't somewhere start wearing it, bro, I don't want to.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I'm good, You're done. I wish I could pull it off.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But if I do wear it once in a while,
- 3:26Speaker 1: it just looks weird. But I only wear it over
- 3:28Speaker 1: like a solid colored shirt. Just wear it to wear
- 3:31Speaker 1: it any as anybody like did they ever wear ear rings?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Like did you ever wear ear rings? Or like your piers?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Are you asking? I don't know. You know, I never had.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It's just weird to me when you see someone and
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're like look at their ear and like, is you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: you're pierced? Like, yeah, I used to heavier in high school.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I wanted to. My parents would let me. I wanted
- 3:49Speaker 1: to get my lip piers too. Well, Mike, you're in
- 3:51Speaker 1: a punk band, so that would have made sense. It
- 3:52Speaker 1: had have been on brand for me. It was just
- 3:54Speaker 1: giving them another reason to beat me up. Kevin, you
- 3:58Speaker 1: never had any ring, No, never any ring. All right,
- 4:00Speaker 1: all right, we're warm. Let's go over the tittle tattle
- 4:07Speaker 1: tattle lets. You got five? Go ahead, all right, Bobby,
- 4:14Speaker 1: we're gonna kick it right. I knew where we were going. Well,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I gotta do it first. You gotta get
- 4:19Speaker 1: out of the way. Which loss was worse for you,
- 4:21Speaker 1: the parlay or Arkansas Arkansas by far A little bit,
- 4:28Speaker 1: not mostly. I don't want you guys to think I'm
- 4:30Speaker 1: happy it's over, because I would have loved to run
- 4:31Speaker 1: the street forever. But there's pressure off of me now
- 4:34Speaker 1: that I can now suggest more games to Bet. I
- 4:37Speaker 1: then just was like, I'm only doing the parley because
- 4:39Speaker 1: I don't want miss any of the stupid beds. So
- 4:41Speaker 1: I hit one of the two in the parley, which
- 4:43Speaker 1: is a loss. When I hit that first one, though,
- 4:46Speaker 1: I know, I was like Baylor. I thought I thought
- 4:49Speaker 1: you'd win, I know, you'd whoop. And then I got
- 4:51Speaker 1: to Oklahoma. They were never even. They never had a chance.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'll watched that game. We were, you know, the Arkansas
- 4:59Speaker 1: games on one TV in the hotel room. The Oklahoma
- 5:01Speaker 1: game was on the other because of my wife school,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and they never had it. It wasn't even were the
- 5:06Speaker 1: Arkansas game Texas and um, it's not a good football team.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Have we not made a unforced dumb errors, we would
- 5:16Speaker 1: have won that game. I don't know. I'm not that
- 5:17Speaker 1: guy usually who blames it on the ref or who says, oh,
- 5:19Speaker 1: we had but they just aren't that good and we
- 5:22Speaker 1: played right into them. The fumble was extending it from
- 5:25Speaker 1: the four. It had been a great play if he
- 5:27Speaker 1: had made it, maybe a Heisman shot, but he didn't.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It was way early. I mean, we were thrashing him
- 5:32Speaker 1: running the ball. That field goal, if they wouldn't have
- 5:35Speaker 1: been in an NFL stadium, that had been good. The
- 5:38Speaker 1: goalpost of taller and NFL stadiums. They didn't realize that
- 5:42Speaker 1: they were in Jerry's world. So it was a tough loss. Hey,
- 5:47Speaker 1: when did you start thinking that after they hit it?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Or like, were you just like later in the day
- 5:51Speaker 1: thinking about that dumb field goal and I saw someone
- 5:53Speaker 1: tweeted okay, because that's I mean, that's a good I
- 5:56Speaker 1: don't know someone tweeted it. Hey, if that had been
- 5:58Speaker 1: in a college stadium, everybody wants to move it out
- 6:01Speaker 1: of Jerry's world anyway and put it back in the
- 6:03Speaker 1: individual stadiums Arkansas and Texas A and M because the
- 6:06Speaker 1: fan both of those fan groups are so good and loud,
- 6:08Speaker 1: and Jerry's well, it doesn't feel like a college atmosphere.
- 6:11Speaker 1: What that is? Uh So I would rather lose every
- 6:14Speaker 1: bet the history of my life then lose that game.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It's it's a tough one, and then we have Alabama
- 6:19Speaker 1: next week. So yeah, I was it was not good.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm still not good. I woke up sad. I'd have
- 6:24Speaker 1: a lanyard on my necklace, didn't have it on, forgot it.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I can't find it. Actually, we may never win another
- 6:29Speaker 1: game the rest of it all. Right, next question, All right,
- 6:31Speaker 1: which NFL team had the biggest win over the weekend
- 6:34Speaker 1: the Packers, Dolphins, Jaguars, or the Colts. Let me mention
- 6:38Speaker 1: them individually. Good win the first with the Packers. Good
- 6:42Speaker 1: win for the Packers because that those are two teams
- 6:44Speaker 1: that should be good and the Packers have struggled a bit. Data.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I only watched part of it. Again, I was getting
- 6:54Speaker 1: home and trying to stream on a Southwest flight, which
- 6:56Speaker 1: that internet goes like real good thirty seconds out for Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: so maybe Aaron Rodgers has a receiver now in the
- 7:06Speaker 1: rookie that they have the d O U B S.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I was only watching it, and I've drafted it. I
- 7:10Speaker 1: don't want to say his name because I've never actually
- 7:12Speaker 1: heard someone say it back. I don't know who he is.
- 7:14Speaker 1: We'll call him Doubs. Yeah, I think, okay, close enough.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I've never heard anyone to say it. They read everything
- 7:21Speaker 1: about him. Well I draft. I drafted him but in
- 7:24Speaker 1: my fantasy league because I had read and how he
- 7:27Speaker 1: was doing in camp. But if you don't hear someone
- 7:28Speaker 1: say a word, you actually never know how to say it.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So I like that win for them. It's a good
- 7:34Speaker 1: win for the back. But it wasn't the biggest they're
- 7:36Speaker 1: they they're supposed to win. The second one was Dolphins.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Huge for the Dolphins. Huge one for the Dolphins. Will
- 7:43Speaker 1: come back to that one. The third one Jaguars. Really
- 7:46Speaker 1: good for the Jaguars. Listen Herbert was hurt. He wanted
- 7:49Speaker 1: to finish the game. He stayed in and finish the game.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's good. It's really good for the Jaguars because, like
- 7:54Speaker 1: I've said, they're on they're on a trajectory. They may
- 7:57Speaker 1: not now they may win the division. I don't know
- 8:01Speaker 1: that's gonna be it, but but they're not in the
- 8:03Speaker 1: basement anymore. Trevor Lawrence solid and so I like it
- 8:09Speaker 1: for the Jaguar. Is still not the best win, although
- 8:11Speaker 1: it was a really good win for them. Next one, yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 1: it's it's soakay. Here's the thing. Miami great win over
- 8:18Speaker 1: the Chiefs, Battle of the Undefeated. Although no one really
- 8:21Speaker 1: thought the sorry over the Bills. No one really thought
- 8:23Speaker 1: that Miami was gonna win that game. Um, although I
- 8:26Speaker 1: did bet them plus three or four and they and
- 8:31Speaker 1: they once they covered. It's easy. I bet every game
- 8:34Speaker 1: I thought I shouldn't. I took Miami, I took the Colts,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I took the Texans. That's good. I just know I
- 8:41Speaker 1: suck about NFL games. The Texans keep covering. Not to
- 8:44Speaker 1: get off sub here, but they keep covering. I'm gonna
- 8:46Speaker 1: go with it was the biggest game for the Colts, yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: because they hadn't won a game and they beat the
- 8:58Speaker 1: number one team, well on the top, one of the
- 9:00Speaker 1: top two teams in the FC. So I think it
- 9:03Speaker 1: was a huge win for them, and I think it
- 9:06Speaker 1: lets them actually think they can continue this season and
- 9:08Speaker 1: actually have a shot at making the playoffs in the
- 9:10Speaker 1: division where everybody's kind of struggling to win games. So
- 9:13Speaker 1: huge game for Miami of course too. But Miami could
- 9:16Speaker 1: have onet have been fine. That had just been too.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And two and one, that's a great place to be
- 9:19Speaker 1: two and one for anybody. There's only one oh and
- 9:21Speaker 1: three team, which is the Raiders, which is crazy. Is
- 9:24Speaker 1: it supposed to be pretty good? I'm still rooting for
- 9:25Speaker 1: him to be good. But I think the easy answer,
- 9:27Speaker 1: in regardless of what Eddie says, it's the Colts because
- 9:32Speaker 1: they were down and out. They lost this it's bad,
- 9:36Speaker 1: it's bad news all season, but they won against a really,
- 9:39Speaker 1: really great team. Go ahead, Eddie, I'm calling Miami on
- 9:42Speaker 1: this one, because I mean, going in the Colts, the
- 9:47Speaker 1: Bills are are so good, so good on both sides
- 9:50Speaker 1: of the field. Offense, Josh Allen's amazing. The Bills defense
- 9:53Speaker 1: is really good, and to uh again is like they're
- 9:56Speaker 1: just playing out of their mind. And the fact that
- 9:59Speaker 1: they beat the Bills, which I crowned the Bills last
- 10:02Speaker 1: week as like they're the best team in football. Now,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I don't think you can say that about the Bills
- 10:06Speaker 1: because Miami just beat them. I don't know. I mean,
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think that there are two teams that undefeated, the
- 10:11Speaker 1: Eagles and the Dolphins, and I don't think the Dolphins
- 10:13Speaker 1: the best team in football. I'm not. I'm not gonna
- 10:16Speaker 1: switch them and say the Dolphins are the best team.
- 10:17Speaker 1: But now you saw that the Bills are human, they
- 10:19Speaker 1: could be beat and so I like that. I think
- 10:21Speaker 1: that was huge for Miami. Dude, I didn't realize how
- 10:24Speaker 1: much heat could affect the team from the North. That's
- 10:27Speaker 1: why I said it was a big It's a hard
- 10:28Speaker 1: place to play for for a team like Buffalo, Like
- 10:32Speaker 1: all those Bills players are just like, oh man, I'm
- 10:34Speaker 1: dying if heat exhaustion. Have anyone really every year they
- 10:38Speaker 1: do the same thing, Like September game from a cold
- 10:41Speaker 1: weather team is brutal on them like a winter game
- 10:44Speaker 1: is for a warm weather team, even the Packers. And
- 10:46Speaker 1: in Tampa, we're dying to say Florida just killed all
- 10:49Speaker 1: the all the visiting teams. I agree it was a
- 10:51Speaker 1: huge win for them, but I think the Coles was
- 10:53Speaker 1: is the biggest win. They needed it for sure. Not
- 10:56Speaker 1: only did they need a win, but they also beat
- 10:58Speaker 1: again arguably the top one or two teams in the
- 11:01Speaker 1: NFL or the a f C. So what do you think, Kevin,
- 11:03Speaker 1: who do you think that the biggest win? I was
- 11:05Speaker 1: with Eddie on the Dolphins for a while there, just
- 11:07Speaker 1: because it's in Division two, and I think it gives
- 11:09Speaker 1: them the confidence that they need. But until they go
- 11:11Speaker 1: up there and do that in Buffalo, it's kind of
- 11:13Speaker 1: like and does it really matter? Does it really count?
- 11:17Speaker 1: But I just think Miami could have lost and been fine.
- 11:21Speaker 1: The Colts they yeah, I don't know that they could
- 11:23Speaker 1: have been yeah. And I will say this about Miami two.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I mean two didn't play that kad. I think a
- 11:27Speaker 1: hundred eighty or a hundred nine passing yards, which isn't great.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Josh Allen had four hundred yards and they still managed
- 11:32Speaker 1: to win the game, So I think that's huge for them.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But going back to your point, Bobby, I think the
- 11:36Speaker 1: Cults were is so much more desperate for a win
- 11:39Speaker 1: and needed a win, especially a game like that. So
- 11:42Speaker 1: I'll go with the Colts as well. And there's a
- 11:43Speaker 1: football up. That guy's wrecked. I'm still from the punt
- 11:48Speaker 1: they're trying to get out today. That punt that what
- 11:50Speaker 1: was crazy to me was the guy didn't back into
- 11:52Speaker 1: the putter. He was there in that same spot. The
- 11:54Speaker 1: putter just punted it right in his butt hole. I mean,
- 11:57Speaker 1: it was a crazy because I saw and then I
- 11:59Speaker 1: saw people to eating about it, the butt punt, and
- 12:02Speaker 1: then I thought probably the guy we got blocked into it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: They're in the end zone, so it's more difficult to
- 12:10Speaker 1: punk because you don't have the space. But it's like
- 12:12Speaker 1: he caught and just said butthole. It was crazy. It
- 12:20Speaker 1: was great, great games, Great games. Give me another one, alright.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Sticking with the Dolphins game there to got knocked around
- 12:26Speaker 1: pretty good there and showed he was showing some concussion signs,
- 12:29Speaker 1: but they I mean, he couldn't walk he can't do anything.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Do you think, um, he should have been pulled from
- 12:36Speaker 1: the game. I don't know what happened in concussion protocol.
- 12:39Speaker 1: They're saying that it wasn't a head injury, it was
- 12:42Speaker 1: a back that it was Yeah, and listen, I guess
- 12:45Speaker 1: if you're back hurt, you're like, I don't know. It
- 12:46Speaker 1: looked like he had gone like a little tweetbirds circle
- 12:50Speaker 1: around his head and also dirty play like they threw
- 12:55Speaker 1: the flag on it. The play was over and then
- 12:57Speaker 1: he just shoved to and two it falls back on
- 12:59Speaker 1: his head. Um, I'm assuming they did the right thing
- 13:04Speaker 1: because I don't think they want to further risk not
- 13:08Speaker 1: only injury, but even the life of what they feel
- 13:11Speaker 1: like could be their franchise quarterback. So I think probably
- 13:15Speaker 1: because the NFLP is investigating it, we don't know the
- 13:18Speaker 1: ruling of the investigation. They I'm gonna just go they
- 13:22Speaker 1: did the right thing. Also, if two has got a concussion,
- 13:24Speaker 1: he's not gonna play well at all, So why would
- 13:27Speaker 1: you want him in there, especially as a quarterback? And
- 13:30Speaker 1: I wonder who's in charge of the Are the Dolphins
- 13:32Speaker 1: in charge of making that callers? Yea independent, So we'll
- 13:37Speaker 1: see what happens in the investigation they're doing. The NFLP
- 13:41Speaker 1: announced it quickly, They're like, we're investigating. And they may
- 13:43Speaker 1: have announced it though as a reaction to people getting upset,
- 13:46Speaker 1: so they could even go, there's no concussion here. So
- 13:49Speaker 1: there are a couple of reasons. Yeah, and not cover up. No,
- 13:53Speaker 1: not cover up, but make sure that they like tell people, hey,
- 13:55Speaker 1: we're on top of it. Don't work. So I trust
- 13:59Speaker 1: they put him in and he was okay, all right
- 14:01Speaker 1: next time after another big game and a three and
- 14:04Speaker 1: no start. Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Is he
- 14:07Speaker 1: a early m v P candidate. I think he is now.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I think he already was after two He's been extremely dynamic.
- 14:14Speaker 1: You need to be dynamic for fourteen weeks probably to
- 14:18Speaker 1: be an m v P and to win a bunch
- 14:20Speaker 1: of games. And they're winning games and he's three in,
- 14:23Speaker 1: so yes, you're gonna have a lot of the same folks.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson's my pick from the beginning. Killed me yesterday.
- 14:32Speaker 1: He went off yesterday. He's running him in. He was.
- 14:35Speaker 1: He's awesome. Lamar Jackson's awesome. Hurts is awesome. The cool
- 14:39Speaker 1: thing that Hurts is they wanted to get him off
- 14:40Speaker 1: the team that they were like, who's our quarterback, Who's
- 14:43Speaker 1: our quarterback? Jalen hurts, Yeah, sure he is. I think
- 14:45Speaker 1: it's too early though, to go. I mean, the favorite
- 14:49Speaker 1: still probably Josh Allen because Buffalo is probably gonna win
- 14:52Speaker 1: more games than anybody else and if he just plays
- 14:55Speaker 1: on par with all the rest. But I'm big, big
- 14:58Speaker 1: fan of put it out there said I'm gonna do
- 15:00Speaker 1: it and make your money, and that's why I picked
- 15:02Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson at the beginning. So as long as I
- 15:04Speaker 1: get hurt, I like Lamar Jackson. But I think Josh
- 15:07Speaker 1: Allen or Mahomes probably wins it again, all things being equal,
- 15:10Speaker 1: anything else. One more which upset was more surprising Kansas
- 15:13Speaker 1: State over Oklahoma, Texas Tech over Texas, or Middle Tennessee
- 15:18Speaker 1: over Miami. That was awesome. Yeah, let me roll through
- 15:20Speaker 1: them real quick. The first one Kansas State in Oklahoma.
- 15:22Speaker 1: That's surprising. But Kansas State has their number for some reason.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think even last year we were watching the game.
- 15:30Speaker 1: We were driving back in the first quarter, me and
- 15:32Speaker 1: my wife's dad and they were like, oh and in
- 15:34Speaker 1: shocking news, and he goes, oh, no, don't be Oklahoma,
- 15:36Speaker 1: like Oklahoma was losing to Kansastate and where he's like, dang,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and so they ended up losing that game. I believe
- 15:40Speaker 1: it was last year and they never really were in it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: They got within a touchdown and I was like, come on, baby,
- 15:48Speaker 1: and they did and they cost me my fifteen games
- 15:51Speaker 1: one now and terrible record. H The second one was
- 15:56Speaker 1: U Texas Tech over Texas. Okay, surprising, but what do
- 16:01Speaker 1: expect Texas? And I just put out a clip going Texas,
- 16:06Speaker 1: it's you so surprising. And then finally it has to
- 16:11Speaker 1: be MT s U because of all those schools mentioned,
- 16:15Speaker 1: the one that doesn't belong of the six is in
- 16:17Speaker 1: the middle state. That's the middle. So especially after Miami
- 16:22Speaker 1: the week before, ranked thirteen, played Texas in crazy and
- 16:26Speaker 1: I believe the quarterback. I don't have stats. I don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: even know you're gonna talk about this. Their quarterback had
- 16:30Speaker 1: like seven completions for like three yards or something because
- 16:34Speaker 1: he was throwing ninety yard bombs, like a couple of
- 16:36Speaker 1: big bomb plays that really made it up. So that
- 16:39Speaker 1: was the surprising one. Al Right, that's the tittle tattle.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Let's ttle tattle it up, close it up sid tattle up.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I see on the agenda there is no coach interview.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Nobody booked their coach. So let's check in with everybody
- 16:57Speaker 1: and see if anyone's got any sort of update on
- 17:00Speaker 1: booking their coach or if you want to move off
- 17:01Speaker 1: or whatever you need. Let's go to Mike. Do you
- 17:04Speaker 1: as our executive producer, who's great at getting interviews? Mike,
- 17:07Speaker 1: what's the latest and who who do you have and
- 17:08Speaker 1: how to go? I have coach Wolcox from Cal. Last
- 17:10Speaker 1: time I told you I had heard nothing, and then
- 17:12Speaker 1: after the show on Friday, I got an email back
- 17:15Speaker 1: and I'm waiting on it. Yes or no? Who emailed
- 17:17Speaker 1: you back? The communications director emailed me back. That's cool,
- 17:22Speaker 1: we got a possible yes there. I don't know why
- 17:24Speaker 1: they would say no, are they having Are you following
- 17:27Speaker 1: to see if they're having a bad a couple of weeks?
- 17:29Speaker 1: And I'm looking at him, huh huh, yeah, following them?
- 17:32Speaker 1: So what I I don't ever want to talk to
- 17:35Speaker 1: a coach after a loss or try to get an
- 17:36Speaker 1: interview after a loss, because I know they don't want
- 17:39Speaker 1: to talk about that, and so I don't know how
- 17:42Speaker 1: what Cal's record is honestly, I've been following cal I
- 17:46Speaker 1: don't know, maybe so maybe tough Kevin. What do you
- 17:49Speaker 1: have over there? For the update? I have Jimbo Fisher
- 17:52Speaker 1: from A and M. And last time we talked, I
- 17:54Speaker 1: don't talk. I canceled that one myself. Now, I had
- 18:00Speaker 1: crickets last time we talked, and I've gotten more crickets
- 18:03Speaker 1: since we've talked. Nothing, So I need to This week.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna either follow up with and maybe even give
- 18:09Speaker 1: him a phone call and just say, hey, Arkansas. I mean,
- 18:12Speaker 1: Bobby's a big Arkansas fan. You guys just one and
- 18:13Speaker 1: we can love to talk about it. Yeah, so we'll
- 18:16Speaker 1: see Eddie. I have Billy Napier in Florida. And so
- 18:20Speaker 1: here's the deal. So when I told you guys, I
- 18:22Speaker 1: sent an email out. I got a response right away,
- 18:24Speaker 1: said that was one of the communications people and said, oh,
- 18:27Speaker 1: they're big fans of Bobby Bones, they love the show
- 18:30Speaker 1: and absolutely let me get you in touch with someone
- 18:32Speaker 1: closer to coach. Well, the assistant to the coach finally
- 18:36Speaker 1: emailed the assistant coach or the coach coach assistant. So
- 18:41Speaker 1: I got a second email and he said, oh cool man,
- 18:44Speaker 1: I love it. This would be great. When do you
- 18:46Speaker 1: want to do this? Is this something you want to
- 18:48Speaker 1: do this season? And I thought that was really interesting.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Why wouldn't I want to talk to him this season
- 18:53Speaker 1: or like not now? Zoom? So I said no, no, no, absolutely,
- 18:57Speaker 1: it's it's next couple of days. That would be cool.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I don't want to wait the Yeah, so that's where
- 19:05Speaker 1: we're at. I replied with no, A s A p
- 19:07Speaker 1: would be great. And now you talk about like you
- 19:10Speaker 1: know how the their their last games affects their their
- 19:13Speaker 1: availability now they with a big loss from Tennessee. I
- 19:16Speaker 1: don't know we're gonna get him, dude, I haven't heard
- 19:18Speaker 1: anything back. If you guys want to punt by Friday,
- 19:21Speaker 1: let me know. It's not okay. I want Yeah, but
- 19:23Speaker 1: you can punt. What's the role, Mike? You lose a
- 19:26Speaker 1: point if you put it. I'm already close, guys, I'm
- 19:29Speaker 1: so closely getting this. I think I can get it.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You can follow up with the follow up and be like, hey,
- 19:34Speaker 1: just checking in all we're asking for. It's like a
- 19:36Speaker 1: fifteen minutes, zoom. Just talk about Florida and I don't
- 19:39Speaker 1: know wherever you want to say, yeah, I don't know
- 19:41Speaker 1: Bobby is a huge fan of coach from back when
- 19:43Speaker 1: he was in Louisiana. We're not even gonna mention the
- 19:45Speaker 1: last game. I'll tell him, I'm not gonna mention that. Okay,
- 19:48Speaker 1: deal Oka say that, all right, let's see whatever you want.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I did run into a guy, a guy I know
- 19:54Speaker 1: him well. He actually facilitated this deal with Draft Kings.
- 19:58Speaker 1: His name is Kevin Legrette and I saw him in
- 20:01Speaker 1: Las Vegas and he goes, hey, man, let me give
- 20:03Speaker 1: some feedback on the show. And I'm like, I learned
- 20:05Speaker 1: who's eating Trump? I don't I don't want right now,
- 20:08Speaker 1: right now. He's like, yeah, let me give us some feedback.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm like, and music is blaring. It's and he goes
- 20:17Speaker 1: kick off, Kevin, great love it. He goes, I don't
- 20:20Speaker 1: know whe you found that guy. Good jobs. You gotta
- 20:22Speaker 1: love it. Thank you. He's got a great name, by
- 20:24Speaker 1: the way. He then said loved all the interviews. He
- 20:28Speaker 1: was like, I don't like wrestling, so I don't care
- 20:30Speaker 1: about the Diamond Dallas page one and I was like, well,
- 20:31Speaker 1: you didn't have to listen. That's a good thing about podcast.
- 20:33Speaker 1: He can, right, But if he didn't like wrestling. If
- 20:35Speaker 1: I didn't like wrestling, I would neither maybe, although I
- 20:37Speaker 1: got a couple of messages from people who don't like
- 20:39Speaker 1: wrestling who thought the interview itself was pretty interesting because
- 20:42Speaker 1: his story is interesting. That was mostly for wrestling fans.
- 20:44Speaker 1: There are probably a lot of wrestling fans who listen
- 20:45Speaker 1: to this. And then he said, too many people have whistles.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I said, we don't have twenty five, so we don't.
- 20:54Speaker 1: If we had twenty six people with whistles, then that'd
- 20:57Speaker 1: be one too many. And we rarely blow it correct
- 21:00Speaker 1: Like I don't understand it. We're blowing it all day,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but we're not blowing the whistle all day, you know what,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna blow it on him. Yeah. That. But it's
- 21:08Speaker 1: going well, like everybody's super pumped. Shows growing like crazy,
- 21:12Speaker 1: which is again surprising to me. I thought it would
- 21:15Speaker 1: do pretty good. I didn't know it was going to
- 21:17Speaker 1: grow like it has. It's been massive. We have two
- 21:20Speaker 1: feeds that it's on. If you listen to on the
- 21:22Speaker 1: Bobby Bones Show feed. That's super cool. And because we're
- 21:25Speaker 1: only doing up until the super Bowl, the twenty five episodes,
- 21:29Speaker 1: Draft Kings actually paid to make sure that it was
- 21:32Speaker 1: put in there as well, so it would get listened
- 21:34Speaker 1: to before we were done. Because the podcast, it takes,
- 21:37Speaker 1: even if it's a great podcast, takes a while to build,
- 21:39Speaker 1: especially if you've got a new feed. So it's been
- 21:42Speaker 1: doing great there and then lots of people are subscribing
- 21:43Speaker 1: coming just like I kind of can't believe how successful
- 21:46Speaker 1: it's been. So we really appreciate that. Um. And there's
- 21:49Speaker 1: the updates on the coaches. Adam is not here, but
- 21:53Speaker 1: I don't see any booking of his coach right all right,
- 21:57Speaker 1: it may be wanting to maybe one, Okay, So there's that.
- 22:02Speaker 1: You know. I mentioned earlier that my parley didn't work
- 22:05Speaker 1: out very well this week. I went one for two.
- 22:07Speaker 1: That's just an L. That's not one win and one loss.
- 22:09Speaker 1: That's an L. That's one loss. Twenty whistles brought you
- 22:12Speaker 1: by Draft Kings Sports Book, an official sports betting partner
- 22:14Speaker 1: of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app and use
- 22:16Speaker 1: the code Bobby sports to get into the action right
- 22:18Speaker 1: now and hop in hop into the parlays. That's what
- 22:23Speaker 1: we did. Baylor plus two point five they covered, they won,
- 22:27Speaker 1: oh U minus twelve and a half obviously didn't and
- 22:29Speaker 1: they lost. They lost the game. They were twelve and
- 22:32Speaker 1: a half point favorite and they lost the game. So
- 22:35Speaker 1: I did not win. I am not fifteen and one
- 22:37Speaker 1: on the season, but we'll get them again. I'm probably
- 22:40Speaker 1: leaning toward bed and everything on Old Miss and Kentucky
- 22:42Speaker 1: is not a good team that ranked seven. They've beat nobody.
- 22:46Speaker 1: They beat Florida after Florida beat Utah, but Florida has
- 22:51Speaker 1: lost twice. Now Florida is not a good Kentucky is
- 22:55Speaker 1: the biggest fraud Number seven I've ever seen in my life.
- 22:58Speaker 1: When did they get into the meter? Now? They play
- 23:00Speaker 1: messed this week and they came out believe they they
- 23:04Speaker 1: entered the chat at a four point dog like it
- 23:07Speaker 1: was Kentucky plast four and it's like Kentucky plus seven.
- 23:11Speaker 1: So if it gets any higher, I might not hop
- 23:14Speaker 1: on that. But I just don't think Kentucky beats Ole
- 23:18Speaker 1: Miss and the Kentucky is a fraud of a football team.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I think they're probably around. I'm the same person told
- 23:26Speaker 1: you Kentucky was going to beat Florida. I sat here
- 23:29Speaker 1: and said they're gonna win. There's not that about it.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Kentucky is a fraud. Is the number seven? Only, and
- 23:35Speaker 1: they haven't beat anybody. There's no reason. Kentucky, you ranked seven,
- 23:39Speaker 1: they haven't beat anybody, so they're gonna they're gonna get whooped.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Go ahead. Well I was gonna say, what about Clemson? Yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 1: Clemons Wake four? They should have but they didn't. And
- 23:53Speaker 1: they have North Carolina State this week, which is the
- 23:56Speaker 1: top I think there are ten? Maybe is wake Forest good? Uh? Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: except for they only be Liberty about one points a
- 24:03Speaker 1: week before. But Liberty is also pretty good. You Phreez
- 24:06Speaker 1: also has that team ready to go. Um So, listeners
- 24:09Speaker 1: that don't have a Draft King sports Book app account
- 24:11Speaker 1: download it now. Draft King sports Book. It's awesome. Get in,

- 24:42Speaker 1: we get to the games. The Pro Bowl is now
- 24:46Speaker 1: going to be flag football and skills Challenge, which is awesome.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I love it because I'll actually go over and maybe
- 24:51Speaker 1: watch that. Maybe are they gonna be interesting? I will
- 24:54Speaker 1: not watch the Pro Bowl because I do not care.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Does anyone care about the Pro Bowl? No, that's why
- 24:59Speaker 1: they're changing it. Yeah, I mean it's it's always been
- 25:02Speaker 1: on in my house, but it's always been while we're
- 25:03Speaker 1: just doing other things. Like I don't put it on.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It's so lame. They don't even try. They don't try,
- 25:08Speaker 1: and I get it would and also don't get it's
- 25:10Speaker 1: a don't don't get hurt. It's exactly the Pro Bowl game.
- 25:13Speaker 1: So I like, I like to flag football athletes, you know.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And then I like the skills Challenge because I would
- 25:18Speaker 1: watch some of the skills stuff before the problem. They
- 25:19Speaker 1: would do some of that, like how far you could
- 25:22Speaker 1: throw and the dummy going across and Brady's like pegging
- 25:24Speaker 1: it so that's one and the two. Brett Farves is
- 25:27Speaker 1: a bad dude. Oh yeah, I keep waiting for more
- 25:31Speaker 1: of it to come out before I like jump on it.
- 25:32Speaker 1: But the fact you want to take the welfare funds
- 25:34Speaker 1: from Mississippi to build his alma mater, his daughter's college
- 25:38Speaker 1: volleyball team, and he's a bad dude and take the
- 25:41Speaker 1: credit for it, like, it's just bizarre and know that
- 25:43Speaker 1: it's probably illegal. No, he probably knew its illegal. But
- 25:46Speaker 1: there in the comment he David brought everything is there.
- 25:51Speaker 1: He's just a bad dude. He made so much money. Yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 1: that's and that's my question. So he's got the money, right, Like,
- 25:57Speaker 1: so if he wanted to do this legally and be
- 26:00Speaker 1: really the person he wanted to look like, you know,
- 26:02Speaker 1: a good giving person, Like he could have done this
- 26:04Speaker 1: all on his own, right, I don't know what the
- 26:05Speaker 1: bank account says, I would assume. Yeah, it just seems
- 26:10Speaker 1: like a bad dude. Yeah, yeah. Can anybody defend Brett Farve? No,
- 26:15Speaker 1: he hasn't. Haven't heard it. He hasn't spoken on or anything. Right,
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I wouldn't avour him. He wouldn't say anything.
- 26:22Speaker 1: His attorney he probably won't he doesn't even he probably
- 26:24Speaker 1: carries in the stick somewhere in the woods, just like here.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I mean, he's taking money from again, this should go
- 26:29Speaker 1: to people who are on welfare, the most vulnerable of person.
- 26:34Speaker 1: He's taking money from that and wanting the credit and
- 26:38Speaker 1: just trying to make the facility better. And the politician
- 26:41Speaker 1: involved in this. So the text said, hey, can we
- 26:44Speaker 1: do that? Did you see the text? He's like, hey,
- 26:47Speaker 1: we yes, what's your question? Yeah? Like, so is he
- 26:50Speaker 1: in trouble too? I mean, are they're both jointly in
- 26:52Speaker 1: trouble here? Yes, but it's all about Brett Farve out
- 26:56Speaker 1: in the news cycle because Brett Farve is a name
- 26:58Speaker 1: we care about. But but yes, right, I mean he's
- 27:00Speaker 1: in trouble too, I assume. Yeah, but today you can
- 27:02Speaker 1: do something I leegal and politics and nobody cares move
- 27:03Speaker 1: on to the next time. It just depends. It just
- 27:06Speaker 1: depends which party runs the state. If they kind of
- 27:10Speaker 1: investigate if you did something good or bad. That's crazy,
- 27:13Speaker 1: that's crazy. All right, let's go to the games here,
- 27:15Speaker 1: all right here, and some of these I'm just gonna
- 27:19Speaker 1: have nothing because I just watched him on the little screen.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I've seen a bunch of highlights. But even then, let's
- 27:24Speaker 1: start Ravens thirty seven Patriots twenty six kick off, Kevin,
- 27:28Speaker 1: what did you see? Badness? Yeah? I saw sadness. A
- 27:33Speaker 1: lot of turnovers for the Patriots in the second half,
- 27:34Speaker 1: especially the fourth quarter, A couple of big ones when
- 27:37Speaker 1: we're coming back, you know, Mac through a pick in
- 27:39Speaker 1: the end zone and then um Nelson Agiler fumbled. So
- 27:42Speaker 1: we had our opportunity as the Patriots did, but and
- 27:44Speaker 1: then we gotta do it. Oh yeah, where's the anytime
- 27:50Speaker 1: you say go ahead, but I will say I mean,
- 27:54Speaker 1: Lamar was the best player on the field. Are you
- 27:56Speaker 1: nervous because Mac Jones went off the field? They say
- 27:58Speaker 1: high ankle spright now, but he limped off the field. Yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 1: he he looked like. It's a lot of bad Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So a bad day or bad ending to that game
- 28:06Speaker 1: got even worse with the last play of the game.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Bears beat the Texans twenty The crazy thing is the
- 28:12Speaker 1: Bears are two in one. Yeah that's yeah. I didn't
- 28:17Speaker 1: even think about it. Did anyone watch that game? Um?
- 28:20Speaker 1: I watched it on the screen because I bet on it. Yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: that would be the only reason to watch. So it's crazy.
- 28:26Speaker 1: The Bears are two and one and away they go.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I mean that, it's not like the Texans. The Texans
- 28:31Speaker 1: were an underdog in the game and they played at
- 28:33Speaker 1: the level they were expected. But yeah, the Bears are
- 28:35Speaker 1: two and one, Titans twenty four, writers twenty two. They
- 28:39Speaker 1: had a chance at the end of the game to
- 28:40Speaker 1: score the two point conversion and tie it. And it
- 28:43Speaker 1: looked like I just saw a clip on the end
- 28:45Speaker 1: of it looked like it was thrown to him. But
- 28:48Speaker 1: what happened to Waller? I think it was a little
- 28:50Speaker 1: bit high, was it. Yeah, he dropped a couple of though, Waller, dude, Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I just saw the clip and it was from the
- 28:54Speaker 1: crowd cell phone, so didn't look It's good to me
- 28:58Speaker 1: and I was on a plane friends rayree. They're better
- 29:02Speaker 1: than oh and three, I think. But now I'm starting
- 29:03Speaker 1: a question myself. And how about the Tidans gonna win there,
- 29:06Speaker 1: there's a big win for them. They needed it, yeah,
- 29:08Speaker 1: and they were up big and they almost blew it.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So glad they held onto it. Yeah, they It felt
- 29:12Speaker 1: almost Giants esque. Yes, as it got closer and I
- 29:15Speaker 1: was watching on the little cartoon screen, it's gonna be
- 29:17Speaker 1: like the Giants again, Colts twenty, Chiefs seventeen. Kevin Uh.
- 29:23Speaker 1: It just seemed like the Chiefs. I don't know when
- 29:27Speaker 1: when the opportunity came. Obviously the kicking. The kicking was
- 29:29Speaker 1: with their backup kicker, and then they faked that one
- 29:31Speaker 1: kick and I didn't work out very well. I didn't
- 29:33Speaker 1: see that. Okay, Yeah, so they faked a field goal
- 29:35Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter. Yeah, totally faked it because they
- 29:38Speaker 1: have their backup kicker in there and they ran out
- 29:40Speaker 1: and tried to throw it and it was just an
- 29:41Speaker 1: awful throw off. Everything was bad about it. I saw
- 29:44Speaker 1: Mahomes and he was arguing with the O C. Yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 1: what what was that? That was at the end of
- 29:51Speaker 1: the half. Mahomes wanted to run some plays. I think
- 29:54Speaker 1: they had like maybe thirty seconds left at the end
- 29:55Speaker 1: of the half and the enemy just kind of ran
- 29:58Speaker 1: the ball instead of going to half time and figure
- 30:00Speaker 1: out in second half. And he wasn't happy about that.
- 30:02Speaker 1: If you're a home you could probably just change playing
- 30:05Speaker 1: the line, right And yeah, I think he was just
- 30:07Speaker 1: being respectful and saying like, hey, like we we should
- 30:10Speaker 1: score if we have the opportunity. Coaches like just that's
- 30:13Speaker 1: what it is. And then whether walk into the to
- 30:15Speaker 1: the locker room. Then head coach Andy Reid. Andy Reid
- 30:19Speaker 1: is just like, hey, dude, just calm down after the game,
- 30:22Speaker 1: and he was like, it is they were just talking.
- 30:25Speaker 1: There was no although it looked a little it wasn't.
- 30:28Speaker 1: The Jets heated on the sideline of the you know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: the Jets and the line coach. They looked like there
- 30:33Speaker 1: about the fight. That's crazy. That's a crazy one. But
- 30:36Speaker 1: the Colts win they needed and that's a division they
- 30:38Speaker 1: can still they still win that thing. I think if
- 30:41Speaker 1: they lost, who would have been tough. But the Colts
- 30:44Speaker 1: the big win over the Chiefs. Dolphins beat the Bills.
- 30:47Speaker 1: We talked about that. What was the most glaring reason
- 30:52Speaker 1: for victory and defeat Kevin. Victory for the Dolphins was
- 30:56Speaker 1: holding in the red zone. Bills had their chances and
- 30:59Speaker 1: they ended up holding in the rotone and then for
- 31:01Speaker 1: defeat kind of the same thing. I mean, Josh Allen,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I don't know if he saw the play where he
- 31:05Speaker 1: could have scored at the end there and he just
- 31:06Speaker 1: short short armed a throat. Oh guy, I don't know
- 31:09Speaker 1: who it was in the corner of the end on
- 31:10Speaker 1: wide open, throw it right into the dirt. There were
- 31:12Speaker 1: a few of those that he had watched where he
- 31:14Speaker 1: came from. Yeah, flew back home. I landed eleven fifty five,
- 31:18Speaker 1: enough time to make all my bets and watch the games.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I'll lucky for you right next game Vikings and Lions
- 31:24Speaker 1: Vikings four. It did look like Vikings had good quarterback play.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Maybe because it was noon, that could be, you know,
- 31:33Speaker 1: maybe that's why I was really rotten for the Lions. Honestly, Um,
- 31:38Speaker 1: what what happened that game? I thought they were gonna win.
- 31:39Speaker 1: They were up ten and second half, and then out
- 31:42Speaker 1: of know where, the Vikings came surging. Kirk Cousins, nonpromtime,
- 31:45Speaker 1: non prime time, Kirk Cousin noon Kurt. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 31:49Speaker 1: was really rooting for the Lions. There eagles whooped up
- 31:53Speaker 1: on the Commanders that did see some of this game,
- 31:54Speaker 1: and I saw the Carson Wentz just was cannot complete
- 31:56Speaker 1: a pass. Yeah, it was difficult, all that sacked nine times? Yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and then he even he said that's not the line's
- 32:01Speaker 1: fault because you don't get sacked nine times and by
- 32:02Speaker 1: the line. Yeah, hold, yeah, yeah, it is not It
- 32:06Speaker 1: is not a good command pretty quick the Panthers win. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 1: your boy, Baker, I need the Panthers win some games. Baby.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Do you see any difference in the Panthers they do
- 32:15Speaker 1: any different? I didn't see a lot of this game.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I just saw a little bits and highlights while I
- 32:19Speaker 1: was out watching the game, so I don't know exactly
- 32:21Speaker 1: what was different. But sports here, Yeah, none of us.
- 32:27Speaker 1: We suck all right? Next game, Jaguars thirty eight, Chargers ten.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Good for the Jags. Chargers are dealing with it right now.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Obviously they We're just gonna throw short passes and run
- 32:37Speaker 1: the ball anyway. For the most part, Herbert was obviously hurt.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Do you think he takes a couple of games off
- 32:43Speaker 1: now after not being able to perform. Yeah, if you're
- 32:45Speaker 1: gonna do what you gotta do it now and make
- 32:46Speaker 1: that decision Jacks, so he solidly could win the division.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Good for them, literally, they all go win the division. Sure, right,
- 32:53Speaker 1: let's talk about this for a second. Jags, Yes, Colts,
- 32:58Speaker 1: Titans now, sure Texans. That's why I didn't jump and
- 33:06Speaker 1: say that to me, Like I realized, like three in
- 33:08Speaker 1: I probably is wrong that they all could. But mhmm,
- 33:12Speaker 1: it's gonna be tough for the Texans. Yeah, I like
- 33:15Speaker 1: the way that they compete, though I agree. That's the
- 33:17Speaker 1: only reason I'm not saying no. It's like the lines
- 33:19Speaker 1: of last day are gritty. Yeah, they're gritty, but you
- 33:22Speaker 1: can't lose to the Bears. You have to win those
- 33:24Speaker 1: type of games, all right, Next game, Ramsey Cardinals. I mean,
- 33:31Speaker 1: what about Kyler? It's not good man. He's doing it
- 33:35Speaker 1: is not good. And I saw so many bad decisions,
- 33:37Speaker 1: you know where he was trying to just get rid
- 33:40Speaker 1: of the ball real quick and he's lucky. He probably
- 33:42Speaker 1: did that about six times and he's lucky none of
- 33:44Speaker 1: those got picked. And just things like that make me think, like, Kyler,
- 33:48Speaker 1: I don't know what you're thinking. Also, I bet that
- 33:51Speaker 1: makes playoffs because that he said it was a signed
- 33:52Speaker 1: from God, So you know what, Hey, God was sending
- 33:54Speaker 1: me a different sad Falcons beat Seahawks. Hey, good for
- 34:00Speaker 1: the Falcons. Hey, I like that little team Mariota Pitts,
- 34:07Speaker 1: Kyle Pitts in this London whatever, Drake London, Dude, I
- 34:11Speaker 1: like what they're doing. I'm kind of a little fan
- 34:13Speaker 1: of what the Falcons are doing over there. He liked
- 34:15Speaker 1: a little team and he's a little fans, a little
- 34:19Speaker 1: Packers beat the Bucks. We talked about that. That's those teams.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Both those team is gonna be fine. Packers need to
- 34:24Speaker 1: find receivers. Bucks just need to get everybody out of
- 34:26Speaker 1: the hospital, I mean strugglen. So there's that. Was this
- 34:32Speaker 1: even a game? Broncos and forty nine? I fell asleep
- 34:34Speaker 1: last night. I watched second half on the plane and
- 34:37Speaker 1: it was watching the second half. I watched the first
- 34:39Speaker 1: places terrible game. It was awful. What's up with Russell?
- 34:42Speaker 1: What's going on over there? What's happening with him? Unlimited?
- 34:45Speaker 1: You've seen that Instagram? No, I'm just convinced now. I
- 34:51Speaker 1: didn't always think he was a douche. Such a douche,
- 34:53Speaker 1: yes see, I just thought he was awkward, Like yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 1: I think he's a maybe maybe, but he like wants
- 35:00Speaker 1: he wants like his own like locker away from the
- 35:03Speaker 1: team and just a weird dude. He's Unlimited. You'll see
- 35:08Speaker 1: it and be like, it's not the let's write anymore. Well,
- 35:13Speaker 1: he made a thing and he was like you ever
- 35:15Speaker 1: have to do like double personalities? I wonder if I
- 35:17Speaker 1: can find it real quick? Yeah, because I didn't know
- 35:19Speaker 1: what this is like you ever have a you feel
- 35:21Speaker 1: like you have a second personality? Does he talk like that, Well,
- 35:25Speaker 1: he's a robot? No, I I know, And I feel
- 35:27Speaker 1: like he struggles with what who he is. He knows
- 35:30Speaker 1: who he is, but I just think he struggles with
- 35:32Speaker 1: that versus who he wants everyone to think he is.
- 35:35Speaker 1: That's what I kind of see in him. Like I
- 35:38Speaker 1: don't know if he's trying to fake that he's something
- 35:41Speaker 1: or what, but whatever it is, there are definitely two
- 35:42Speaker 1: personalities and he's struggling with it. I don't see the
- 35:46Speaker 1: Russell unlimited posts. I'll try to find it in a second.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And uh no, no Jets and Bengals. Let me hit
- 35:52Speaker 1: this and then I'll find it real quick. Go ahead,
- 35:54Speaker 1: hit that, I go ahead. You care about that game
- 35:57Speaker 1: at all? No? I mean it was what we thought
- 35:59Speaker 1: that Yets last week after that big win last week,
- 36:02Speaker 1: and we're gonna do much this week and being's gonna track. Okay,
- 36:05Speaker 1: here we go. It's an old video, but they keep
- 36:08Speaker 1: showing it boring. Yes, Russell, the robot, Russell, the one
- 36:10Speaker 1: you guys love to know. I'm real, real exciting, you know,
- 36:13Speaker 1: I'm real exciting. Um. But Anyways, Uh, everybody has to
- 36:17Speaker 1: have an ulter ego, right, And I've been thinking about
- 36:19Speaker 1: what my alter ego would be, and I think I
- 36:21Speaker 1: have an alter ego. His name, his name's Mr Mr
- 36:25Speaker 1: Mr Unlimited. Yeah, you gotta be unlimited, and they gotta
- 36:30Speaker 1: have a thought process of being unlimited. So when people
- 36:32Speaker 1: ask you, you know what you're thinking about, or what
- 36:36Speaker 1: you want to do in life or where you want
- 36:37Speaker 1: to go, you gotta be unlimited. Him, I'm a limited,
- 36:41Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So when they ask you
- 36:42Speaker 1: certain questions like Russell Mr un Limited, is he drunk?
- 36:51Speaker 1: He sounds drunk. That's the NFL. We'll go through college
- 36:55Speaker 1: real quick, given them. The college is stupid football. George
- 36:59Speaker 1: Meet can stay close with Alabama crushed up on Vandy.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I know Eddie bt Vandy to cover and I was like,
- 37:06Speaker 1: don't do that. Come on twice two touchdowns. Stay worked
- 37:11Speaker 1: up in Wisconsin, Michigan over Maryland. But not like people thought,
- 37:16Speaker 1: not at all. They did not cover Clemson and wake
- 37:19Speaker 1: Force double overtime, great game, awesome. It was really rooting
- 37:23Speaker 1: for a wake Force there because Deba won't come on
- 37:25Speaker 1: the show. Oklahoma goto by Kansas State, which was just
- 37:28Speaker 1: an odd game to watch because it was never Okahoma
- 37:31Speaker 1: never really was winning the game at the end they
- 37:35Speaker 1: had a shot to tie, like take the ball and
- 37:37Speaker 1: score and maybe tied up right there down fourteen, and
- 37:39Speaker 1: they it just was never a deal. Like I was
- 37:42Speaker 1: never like, Okay, Oklahoma has got it. Uh, Arkansas, Texas,
- 37:45Speaker 1: um right on broke my heart man, Florida, Tennessee, Tennessee.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I'm thirty thirty three, But it wasn't as close as that.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I felt like to get Tennessee like snocker him a
- 37:57Speaker 1: little bit. For most of the game. It was a
- 37:59Speaker 1: little close to I thought it was gonna be um.
- 38:01Speaker 1: That was the final score, right, which is where to
- 38:02Speaker 1: see thirty three because I just felt like I guess
- 38:05Speaker 1: I turned it off before the end and just saw
- 38:07Speaker 1: the score. But that's closer than it was. That means
- 38:10Speaker 1: Florida covered. Yeah, Billy Mayer did a hell of a job. Man.
- 38:13Speaker 1: It's really proud of him. Guest for Florida. Yeah, I
- 38:15Speaker 1: love Florida. I wish you'd talk about it. You know.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Baylor beat Iowa State even though they were the underdog.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Texas lost, Texas Tech, and Middle Tennessee beat Miami which
- 38:26Speaker 1: is crazy. Middle let's go it's crazy. All right, that's it,
- 38:30Speaker 1: that's it. Oh, hey, wait, have we thrown to the
- 38:32Speaker 1: interview yet? We have not? Oh you want to just go?
- 38:38Speaker 1: All right, let's throw This is all You're gonna like
- 38:40Speaker 1: this interview. This is Jay Glazer. You probably know him
- 38:43Speaker 1: just from being all over everything, Mr football guy. I
- 38:45Speaker 1: have also a new book, new podcast. We didn't just
- 38:48Speaker 1: talk about that though, And I honestly thought we talked
- 38:50Speaker 1: about his book and podcast and we would get to
- 38:52Speaker 1: doing the promo stuff and then get back to football.
- 38:54Speaker 1: But hearing M talking about mental health is really great,
- 38:57Speaker 1: right we all let finished the interview. We're like, loved it.
- 38:59Speaker 1: That was He's awesome better than I thought it would
- 39:01Speaker 1: be in more ways than just football. When someone can
- 39:03Speaker 1: be human like that and just feel free to talk
- 39:05Speaker 1: about what they're going through is really refreshing and inspiring
- 39:08Speaker 1: the same time. Here is Jay Glazer. Jay, thanks for
- 39:11Speaker 1: coming on, Bud. Absolutely, man, I'm excited to come on
- 39:13Speaker 1: here with you. Hey doing I'm doing good. Let me
- 39:16Speaker 1: fanboy for a second and say that I'm just a
- 39:18Speaker 1: massive fan and I always I mean, I look forward
- 39:20Speaker 1: to a lot of the things that you do, especially
- 39:22Speaker 1: the hits before the games, because I'm like, all right,
- 39:23Speaker 1: let me find out was what was either breaking or
- 39:25Speaker 1: what do I need to know about who's hurt. So
- 39:27Speaker 1: before we talk about some of the stuff that you're
- 39:29Speaker 1: working on, just let me say that I'm a massive
- 39:31Speaker 1: fan for a long time of what you do. Thank you, brother,
- 39:34Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Man, It's it's pretty cool for me. This
- 39:36Speaker 1: is my twentieth year at the NFL and Fox. So
- 39:38Speaker 1: like every weekend I get to have a family reunion
- 39:40Speaker 1: with the rest of my family and we're all crazy,
- 39:42Speaker 1: you know. It's me and Bradshaw and how we long,
- 39:45Speaker 1: and and my baby sister, Michael Strahan and Karamenofie and
- 39:48Speaker 1: Jimmy Johnson. But every week I get to have a
- 39:50Speaker 1: family reunion. Like how freaking cool is that. It's awesome
- 39:54Speaker 1: to have a job that you love and and I
- 39:55Speaker 1: definitely want to get to the football stuff later. But
- 39:57Speaker 1: you know, I like yourself. I'm a big advocate of
- 40:01Speaker 1: pursuing mental health and I think you know me growing
- 40:04Speaker 1: up in a small town in a very rural part
- 40:06Speaker 1: of a state of Arkansas that we didn't know anything
- 40:08Speaker 1: about mental health growing up, and then to watch you,
- 40:11Speaker 1: you know, really champion this cause and share your struggles
- 40:14Speaker 1: with it like that. That's inspiring for a guy like me.
- 40:17Speaker 1: So I want to first talk about the podcast. Uh
- 40:20Speaker 1: that it's called Unbreakable and you even say it's a
- 40:23Speaker 1: mental health podcast. It's right there in the title. So
- 40:24Speaker 1: you're letting everybody know what's going on there. What exactly
- 40:27Speaker 1: are you talking about? And how are you discussing mental
- 40:29Speaker 1: health on the podcast? Yeah, and that's the thing that
- 40:31Speaker 1: the whole thing spawned from my book. You know, I'm
- 40:33Speaker 1: Breakable how I turned my depression anxiety in a motivation
- 40:37Speaker 1: and you can too, because I I made a decision
- 40:40Speaker 1: a long time ago, like I wasn't gonna let this
- 40:41Speaker 1: thing beat me. And I live in something that I
- 40:44Speaker 1: call the gray. That's depression, anxiety that's throwing some a
- 40:49Speaker 1: d D a little bipolar if you can. I mean,
- 40:51Speaker 1: I got it all and it's my earliest childhood memory.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Like I didn't sign up for this, I didn't ask
- 40:56Speaker 1: for this, but it, man, it's every single day in
- 40:59Speaker 1: my life. It is hard for me to get out
- 41:01Speaker 1: of bed in the morning. I gotta make that decision.
- 41:04Speaker 1: But you know, when you live in the gray, um man,
- 41:08Speaker 1: it's like you wake up every morning thinking the world
- 41:13Speaker 1: hates you, You're not worthy of being loved, the sky
- 41:16Speaker 1: is falling and it's not real. And I know people
- 41:18Speaker 1: at home probably going, oh, what's this guy complained about?
- 41:21Speaker 1: His life is great? Man, My life is great, Like
- 41:23Speaker 1: I'm not here with you, are you kidding me? But
- 41:25Speaker 1: between my ears sucks. So for all these years, I
- 41:29Speaker 1: like created this character on TV at the Glaze, you know,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and you know, fighting and football and ballers and doing
- 41:34Speaker 1: all this, and I was just I hit it. I
- 41:37Speaker 1: just suffered in silence all these years. And I wish
- 41:39Speaker 1: I spoke up earlier because of all the people I've
- 41:42Speaker 1: could have helped. But also I would have had a
- 41:45Speaker 1: better team to walk this walk with together, and I
- 41:49Speaker 1: would have been able to handle it a lot better
- 41:51Speaker 1: than the ways I handle it, which the ways I
- 41:53Speaker 1: handle in the past. We're not healthy for me or
- 41:55Speaker 1: other people. You know. We spent so much time talking
- 41:57Speaker 1: about our physical fitness. And again I've been, uh, someone
- 42:01Speaker 1: who was uneducated on it for a long time until
- 42:03Speaker 1: I started experiencing things myself. But we do all this.
- 42:06Speaker 1: You know, how to work out, how to eat, and
- 42:08Speaker 1: that is a big part of health, but it ain't
- 42:10Speaker 1: all a health. And I've learned this as well. And
- 42:12Speaker 1: if you're not mentally healthy and you're not working on
- 42:14Speaker 1: your mental health, it's almost hard to get healthy physically
- 42:18Speaker 1: because if you're not all in up top, it's hard
- 42:21Speaker 1: to be all in at all. Yeah. When the roommates
- 42:23Speaker 1: in my head are not playing along nicely together, man,
- 42:25Speaker 1: everything hurts. And so when I have these periods of
- 42:28Speaker 1: the gray that I call them, Um, it's I get
- 42:31Speaker 1: a visceral physical reaction with my depression. Anxiety hit bad.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I feel it actually in my joints on the left
- 42:39Speaker 1: side of my gut and behind my rib cage. And
- 42:43Speaker 1: that's that pains very real for me, and it's something
- 42:46Speaker 1: that I handle every single day. And um, you're right,
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know. Mental health is so reactive these days, right,
- 42:53Speaker 1: physical health, Like, man, you're gonna go to the gym
- 42:55Speaker 1: because you want to get yourself bigger and it's every day,
- 42:57Speaker 1: right or stronger cardio whatever that that is, right. Like
- 43:01Speaker 1: I just talked to football teams. I say, you guys,
- 43:02Speaker 1: don't only catch passes when you have the drops, you
- 43:06Speaker 1: throw them and catch them all the time. Mental health
- 43:09Speaker 1: we only go to see a therapist when the sky
- 43:11Speaker 1: is falling, and that's sometimes too late, so I'm trying
- 43:14Speaker 1: to get out ahead of it. You know, we talked
- 43:15Speaker 1: mental health. The reason why I wrote this book and
- 43:18Speaker 1: the reason why I'm doing this podcast is I want
- 43:20Speaker 1: to give it words. I want to give people words
- 43:23Speaker 1: to be able to start having the conversation too, you know.
- 43:26Speaker 1: And it's incredible the reaction I've had. I've had grandmother's
- 43:30Speaker 1: reach out saying thank you. For the first time in
- 43:33Speaker 1: eighty years, I could have this conversation and tell my
- 43:38Speaker 1: husband and kids and grandkids what I've been going through.
- 43:42Speaker 1: A lot of girl dads saying like I don't have it,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and I'm thinking like, yeah, yeah, yeah, you do. But
- 43:49Speaker 1: then but my daughter does. But now I'm able to
- 43:51Speaker 1: have the conversation. And I want to make this distinction
- 43:54Speaker 1: very clear. I don't talk. I'm not a therapist. I'm
- 43:56Speaker 1: not a doctor, I'm not a teacher. Um, I'm just
- 43:59Speaker 1: a dud who's best up, who's learning how to be
- 44:01Speaker 1: good with his messed upness. And you don't have to
- 44:04Speaker 1: have my level, which is clinical. And that's why, I
- 44:07Speaker 1: guess allows me to talk about it. I have clinical depression, anxiety,
- 44:10Speaker 1: and and then I hit all these years. But we're
- 44:12Speaker 1: all going through something these days. Man. Social media makes
- 44:15Speaker 1: us all think our lives suck. Like we're comparing ourselves
- 44:18Speaker 1: to everybody else's filtered fraction of a second of a day,
- 44:22Speaker 1: and we're going, man, how come my food doesn't look
- 44:25Speaker 1: like that? Why am I not at that party? Like
- 44:27Speaker 1: we feel left out? Or on Twitter, we see so
- 44:31Speaker 1: much hate and bullying. And when I got bullying on
- 44:34Speaker 1: the playground growing up, it sucked for a month. But
- 44:37Speaker 1: now we're seeing in a thousand times a second on Twitter,
- 44:40Speaker 1: so it's just a scarier world. So you don't have
- 44:42Speaker 1: that my level. All right, we're all going through some
- 44:45Speaker 1: sort of gray. And like I said, my job now
- 44:48Speaker 1: is you know, I felt cursed for all these years,
- 44:50Speaker 1: but now I feel like God bless me with depression
- 44:53Speaker 1: anxiety so I could give other people a voice to
- 44:57Speaker 1: hopefully help them through their pain. Because man, we deserve,
- 45:00Speaker 1: but we don't deserve for this great wind screw that.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Like I deserve to live in the blue, we all do.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I wonder what your turning point was as far as
- 45:07Speaker 1: you mentioned the glaze and this larger than life character
- 45:10Speaker 1: that you presented, but that was your job, right. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: bet I do this too. Like other days, I don't
- 45:15Speaker 1: feel good, but I gotta come and do a national show.
- 45:17Speaker 1: And you, you gotta be who people are are tuning
- 45:21Speaker 1: in to see your tuning into here. But for you,
- 45:23Speaker 1: not only were you this larger than life person, but
- 45:26Speaker 1: there's m m A, there's football. It's a very macho
- 45:29Speaker 1: thing that you're a part of. And when was it
- 45:33Speaker 1: for you that you went? You know what, I just
- 45:34Speaker 1: have to be uncomfortably vulnerable because if I don't like
- 45:39Speaker 1: I'm not actually sharing who I really am? What was
- 45:41Speaker 1: that turning point for you? I started going down worse
- 45:43Speaker 1: and worse roads here as I've gotten older. You know,
- 45:45Speaker 1: people think that you hit success. I thought, and here's
- 45:49Speaker 1: the thing like for me, That's why I say in
- 45:50Speaker 1: the book title, how I use it to motivate me.
- 45:54Speaker 1: I'm not able, Like I don't know what it's like
- 45:57Speaker 1: to feel love from the inside out. I've never felt
- 45:59Speaker 1: worthy of being love, which sucks. Man. It's lonely. I
- 46:01Speaker 1: want to be loved. So it's as a result force
- 46:05Speaker 1: we did do all these big, great things on the outside,
- 46:08Speaker 1: like we're in the I'm in the TV Hall of Fame.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I was the first mm A host of a nationals
- 46:13Speaker 1: mm A show in America, doing five years and ballers
- 46:16Speaker 1: with the rock who wrote the forward for my book
- 46:18Speaker 1: is how important this is. So it's forced me to
- 46:21Speaker 1: go do all these great things on the outside. Two
- 46:25Speaker 1: Steel loved and I thought, man, once I kind of
- 46:29Speaker 1: made it and I'd have some money because I would.
- 46:32Speaker 1: And listen, I've been on both ends. The first eleven
- 46:35Speaker 1: years of my career. I was making nineties seven hundred
- 46:37Speaker 1: bucks a year living in New York City. That sucks.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I don't understand what it's like to be broken. And
- 46:42Speaker 1: I worked my butt off to be unbreakable, if you will,
- 46:45Speaker 1: because I needed to find that outside love to help
- 46:48Speaker 1: lift me up. And and I just didn't work like that,
- 46:52Speaker 1: Like the outside stuff didn't really fulfill me. So I
- 46:56Speaker 1: kind of got sick of it. Man, I got sick
- 46:57Speaker 1: of waking up every day. And you know, one of
- 47:00Speaker 1: the things I read about in the book is that
- 47:01Speaker 1: I need a team. And I've had fight teams in
- 47:04Speaker 1: different teams to help me through. And I said, you
- 47:05Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna start talking about it because more
- 47:08Speaker 1: I could talk about it I'll get a bunch of
- 47:10Speaker 1: more teammates out there that we can walk this walk
- 47:12Speaker 1: together and and it will help me through. And I've
- 47:16Speaker 1: needed the help as much as I'm helping others, I
- 47:18Speaker 1: need to help just as much. I want to encourage
- 47:20Speaker 1: you guys to check out Unbreakable How I turn my
- 47:22Speaker 1: depression anxiety and a motivation, and you can to buy
- 47:26Speaker 1: a Jay Glazer and then the podcast, which is Unbreakable
- 47:28Speaker 1: with Jay Glazer I'm Gonna Health podcast. They are both. Uh.
- 47:32Speaker 1: The first episode, Sean McVeigh, I asked him, you've got
- 47:35Speaker 1: some really like someone like me would consider really cool relationships.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And is Shan a friend of yours who wanted so
- 47:41Speaker 1: in the book? Um, when I described the gray. We're
- 47:45Speaker 1: in Mexico, myself, him and Andrew Whitworth and we're trying
- 47:49Speaker 1: to describe to him what depression anxiety is. And Sean, man,
- 47:53Speaker 1: his life is like a nightlight. You know. He's like,
- 47:56Speaker 1: like the worst thing that ever happened to Sean is
- 47:58Speaker 1: he didn't win the Super Bowl his second year ever
- 48:00Speaker 1: as the youngest head coach in NFL history. Um, and
- 48:04Speaker 1: like his parents look like the people who are picture frames.
- 48:07Speaker 1: You're buying freaking target. You know, it's like his he
- 48:09Speaker 1: don't understand childhood, drauma or anything like that. So we start.
- 48:12Speaker 1: He starts really deep diving explaining. So I thought it
- 48:14Speaker 1: was a good way for me to explain it. Trying
- 48:17Speaker 1: to explain to the Super Bowl winning head coach of
- 48:19Speaker 1: what it's like to have depression, anxiety and the gray
- 48:22Speaker 1: and Andrew Whitworth, who's his captain, his left tackle, who's
- 48:26Speaker 1: the Walter Payton Man of the Year award winner. He
- 48:29Speaker 1: starts talking about it and Sean goes, wait, you too.
- 48:32Speaker 1: He's like, Sean, what do you think gets me, at
- 48:35Speaker 1: forty years of age to still pound my head into
- 48:38Speaker 1: Aaron Donald every day? Yeah, dude, I'm messed up. Absolutely,
- 48:41Speaker 1: we all are. So we were trying to explain this, Sean,
- 48:44Speaker 1: that it's not just your locker room, it's everybody around
- 48:47Speaker 1: you and where you gotta start, which will I said Seohan,
- 48:51Speaker 1: thinking how great of a coach you could be if
- 48:53Speaker 1: you could start learning how to be vulnerable and you
- 48:56Speaker 1: can start leaning in ton of other people and started,
- 48:58Speaker 1: you know the attached that I now have. Uh. And
- 49:02Speaker 1: I'll tell you the story after this about me and
- 49:03Speaker 1: Michael strand Um, who was my best friend you know
- 49:06Speaker 1: for thirty years, but to day that I hit it
- 49:08Speaker 1: from but I said, man, imagine how much better for
- 49:11Speaker 1: coaches will make you. Well. Last year they go oh
- 49:13Speaker 1: for November during the Super Bowl run, and he was struggling,
- 49:19Speaker 1: and people don't know I would actually go out to
- 49:21Speaker 1: his house. I was. I was to turn about him,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and I went to his house a couple of times
- 49:26Speaker 1: during that period just to get him to start being
- 49:29Speaker 1: vulnerable and opening up to people on his team and
- 49:32Speaker 1: his staff. And he did, and he really started opening
- 49:35Speaker 1: up to two things that he was struggling with, and
- 49:38Speaker 1: that helped really helped bomb them together. And then they
- 49:41Speaker 1: went on a Super Bowl run and it just made
- 49:44Speaker 1: him a better coach and a better Now he's a
- 49:47Speaker 1: husband now, better friend, better everything. So it's pretty cool.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I got to, yeah, these relationships in the most dudely
- 49:53Speaker 1: of worlds, right Like I look at it, like no
- 49:56Speaker 1: one's questioned my manhood. I fought for years, I coached
- 49:59Speaker 1: for years, do football baller's all, so no one's question
- 50:02Speaker 1: of my managed So I could cry to you on
- 50:04Speaker 1: the drop of a dime, I'm good. What's the stray hand? Story. So,
- 50:09Speaker 1: man again, this guy is is my best friend since
- 50:14Speaker 1: he and I lashed on each other. And in those
- 50:17Speaker 1: broke years, I didn't have enough money to go from
- 50:21Speaker 1: I had to go to Giant Stadium every day to
- 50:23Speaker 1: work to be a reporter. I didn't have enough money
- 50:26Speaker 1: to take a subway to a bus to Giant Stadium
- 50:29Speaker 1: and back every day to Stray drove me back into
- 50:32Speaker 1: New York City every freaking day for like nine years.
- 50:36Speaker 1: So I own, like granted, Lincoln Tubtle fair right, So
- 50:40Speaker 1: so for years, um, and I had this from my
- 50:44Speaker 1: whole team, except how we long? Um, how you can
- 50:51Speaker 1: tell when I was having I would I would have
- 50:53Speaker 1: these anxiety attacks before the show and some mental breakdowns sometimes,
- 50:57Speaker 1: and how are you go, hey, hey, hey, hey, sky's
- 51:00Speaker 1: not falling. The sky is not falling because because how
- 51:02Speaker 1: he's messed up too yet you gotta be messed up
- 51:04Speaker 1: to be that violent of a football player. But so
- 51:07Speaker 1: last year, thirty years, okay, Stray and I are supposed
- 51:10Speaker 1: to go out to dinner, and man, the beast just
- 51:14Speaker 1: got out of the box and my anxiety I got
- 51:18Speaker 1: woken up in the middle of night by an anxiety attack.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Like how unfair? Is that And like, I didn't do anything,
- 51:24Speaker 1: There wasn't anything that triggered me. It woke me up,
- 51:26Speaker 1: and man, I just felt like my world was ending
- 51:29Speaker 1: and it freaking sucked. And like I said, it takes
- 51:33Speaker 1: so much out of me physically when it happens. So
- 51:36Speaker 1: for the first time in thirty years, I'm supposed to
- 51:38Speaker 1: go out to dinner with straight and I said, man,
- 51:41Speaker 1: I can't go to dinner tonight. In the past, when
- 51:44Speaker 1: this happened, I would use viking in an alcohol and
- 51:49Speaker 1: just hide it and uh, and that would usually be
- 51:54Speaker 1: a lot more dangerous because I started get a little fifty,
- 51:57Speaker 1: you know, and start snatching people. And I'm not I'm
- 52:00Speaker 1: not the most pleasant person on that Um. So for
- 52:03Speaker 1: the first time in thirty years, I said, straight, I
- 52:05Speaker 1: can't go to dinner tonight, ma'am. The beast just got
- 52:08Speaker 1: out of the box and he said, you want you
- 52:13Speaker 1: want gonna come over? I said, um, not this time.
- 52:17Speaker 1: I think I just gotta get back to bed. And
- 52:19Speaker 1: he said, you want to talk about it? I said,
- 52:22Speaker 1: I do it, not right now? And then he said
- 52:24Speaker 1: to me, why have you never told me about this?
- 52:28Speaker 1: I'm your best friend, said man, I don't make up
- 52:31Speaker 1: the rules of this thing. Bro. I whatever reason, I
- 52:34Speaker 1: felt ashamed with you, and he's like, yeah, but you
- 52:38Speaker 1: took my my ability to be your friend away. I
- 52:43Speaker 1: wish you had opened up. I got a little choked
- 52:45Speaker 1: up talking about it because had I been able to
- 52:49Speaker 1: open up to him for thirty years like I am now,
- 52:52Speaker 1: I would have had somebody that I could have leaned on.
- 52:54Speaker 1: I would have had somebody who can help me out
- 52:56Speaker 1: of that dark hole. Um. So, for everybody out there listening, listen,
- 53:00Speaker 1: every single person I've opened up to about this, but
- 53:03Speaker 1: I'm having bad days and we just told me to
- 53:05Speaker 1: suck it up and just called me. Was the fact
- 53:08Speaker 1: it's gotten us closer together. And I would say the
- 53:11Speaker 1: majority of my friends that I've opened up to about
- 53:13Speaker 1: it have then in turn open up to me about
- 53:15Speaker 1: something that they never know they could they ever could have. Yes,
- 53:19Speaker 1: it sounds like your team is very important to Your
- 53:20Speaker 1: friends are very important to you. Your support group, which
- 53:23Speaker 1: also that's a that's a pillar in the book of
- 53:26Speaker 1: like how to get through this. Yeah, it's finding those
- 53:28Speaker 1: teams I talk about when I we'll speak or or
- 53:33Speaker 1: you know, I do a comedy slash kind of Ted
- 53:35Speaker 1: Talk where I tore a bit and I talked about how,
- 53:38Speaker 1: you know, we're always afraid to ask for help, but
- 53:39Speaker 1: if somebody asks us for help, we do it in
- 53:41Speaker 1: a second. So if someone's ever like, hey, would you
- 53:43Speaker 1: please help me? Absolutely I do it. But then why
- 53:44Speaker 1: wouldn't you ask for help if you need it? I
- 53:46Speaker 1: don't want to bother people. Oh I don't know my
- 53:49Speaker 1: but it's almost you know, lend that perspective to you
- 53:53Speaker 1: having to reach out to somebody because you would help somebody,
- 53:56Speaker 1: So why would you not ask somebody to lend you
- 53:58Speaker 1: a hand? You know what I do now, so now
- 54:01Speaker 1: I have better tools to deal with it. So again again,
- 54:04Speaker 1: I had another night and I don't know why there's
- 54:06Speaker 1: been happening lately. But again, like I said, like depression, anxiety,
- 54:09Speaker 1: they pull a chair up whenever they damn well, please,
- 54:12Speaker 1: there's no there's no schedule. And for me also, I
- 54:15Speaker 1: have a panic attack every single time I've ever been
- 54:18Speaker 1: on TV from two thousand five to now, as I'm
- 54:22Speaker 1: on that first segment, only on our show, not on
- 54:25Speaker 1: somebody else's show, it's the weirdest thing, which was really
- 54:28Speaker 1: really strange, because man, I'm great in chaos, I suck
- 54:32Speaker 1: in calm. So I don't know why that happens. It
- 54:36Speaker 1: becomes a bitual. But so as I'm talking to you
- 54:39Speaker 1: on Sundays, every time that first segment, I'm having an
- 54:43Speaker 1: anxiety attack and I'm I call it wrestling with my abuser.
- 54:47Speaker 1: And so what I do now when I get woken
- 54:51Speaker 1: up in the middle of the night by it, or
- 54:54Speaker 1: I have a really bad day, I will call for
- 54:57Speaker 1: friends and tell them, Man, I am freaking struggling today.
- 55:01Speaker 1: I just gotta tell somebody because there's power numbers, right,
- 55:04Speaker 1: So I started telling them and then the other thing
- 55:07Speaker 1: I do, like another one of my pillars is being
- 55:09Speaker 1: of service. And being of service can be charity or
- 55:13Speaker 1: you know, helping in so many different ways. Um, but
- 55:18Speaker 1: I'll call four other friends and not tell to them struggling,
- 55:23Speaker 1: just to check up on them. And that combination of
- 55:27Speaker 1: me calling people and having a team to help lift
- 55:30Speaker 1: me up and then meet checking up on others to
- 55:33Speaker 1: be of service to them, that really helps that Gray
- 55:37Speaker 1: take a hike. Okay, we'll get back to the Jay
- 55:39Speaker 1: Glazer interview in just a second, but let's talk about
- 55:41Speaker 1: Draft Kings NFL Action. It's here obviously, we're talking about it,

- 56:47Speaker 1: for six seven three six nine. Al Right, back with
- 56:50Speaker 1: Jay Glazer, speaking of friends, just relating it to your career.
- 56:55Speaker 1: How do you have so many friends? How do you
- 56:56Speaker 1: know so much stuff? Like, because it's like, if if
- 57:00Speaker 1: I needed to know something, if I was gonna be
- 57:02Speaker 1: you know, gonna, it would be called j Glazer. If
- 57:04Speaker 1: it's anybody, is it all relationship based? Everything's relationship based.
- 57:08Speaker 1: And you know that's the other way I kind of
- 57:09Speaker 1: write about is you know, the art of loyalty is
- 57:13Speaker 1: a dying art, right. And I'm just I'm the most
- 57:16Speaker 1: loyal dude in the planet. Love me or hate me.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Anybody you talk to about me, We'll tell you I'm
- 57:20Speaker 1: the most loyal dude on the planet. Uh. And I'm
- 57:23Speaker 1: very way you have relationships is give give. I'm always
- 57:26Speaker 1: thinking for my friends and for people not with them
- 57:29Speaker 1: having to ask, and the same thing for me. I
- 57:31Speaker 1: I would hope not to ask like just give, give,
- 57:33Speaker 1: think for people, and that in the self is being
- 57:36Speaker 1: of servers. So I have that mindset of how can
- 57:38Speaker 1: I give two people and lift them up? Um, And
- 57:42Speaker 1: that's what relationships are supposed to be. They're supposed to
- 57:44Speaker 1: be give, give, But when I have, like man, when
- 57:48Speaker 1: my friends losing the NFL, I'm the first one to
- 57:50Speaker 1: call them because nobody else will. You know, when my
- 57:52Speaker 1: friends I see something on TMZ and they're going through something, Bam,
- 57:56Speaker 1: I'll call them in two seconds to let them know
- 57:58Speaker 1: they aren't gonna walk this walk alone. And I think
- 58:00Speaker 1: there's something for that authenticity, especially in how fake this
- 58:04Speaker 1: world is these days. Like I said, love me or
- 58:07Speaker 1: hate me, at least you know who you're getting. I
- 58:09Speaker 1: never know who I'm getting when I wake up in
- 58:10Speaker 1: the morning but myself. But but everybody else knows who
- 58:12Speaker 1: they're getting. The book is Unbreakable How I turned my
- 58:15Speaker 1: depression anxiety into motivation and you can too. By Jay Glazer.
- 58:19Speaker 1: We have a group of guys here that would like
- 58:20Speaker 1: to ask you a couple of football questions. Are you
- 58:22Speaker 1: cool with that? And and and feel free to share
- 58:25Speaker 1: even if it's if you've been told this to keep
- 58:26Speaker 1: secret because it's never gonna go anywhere. We're never gonna share. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 58:33Speaker 1: Eddie your first up with Jay. Hey, j It's awesome
- 58:35Speaker 1: to talk to you, brother. I'm a big Cowboys fan.
- 58:38Speaker 1: And needless to second, we've been riddled with injuries, right,
- 58:43Speaker 1: is it weird to you? And this is maybe the
- 58:45Speaker 1: first season that I've really seen this, or maybe I've
- 58:47Speaker 1: just missed it. But with Dax injury, we're getting updates
- 58:52Speaker 1: and reports from the owner versus like a team doctor.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Is the state of the holiday and express last night? Right?
- 58:58Speaker 1: So he was telling you medical update, tell us that,
- 59:00Speaker 1: I'm like, Jerry, what are you doing? So? Is that
- 59:02Speaker 1: is that your contact now? Like you instead of going
- 59:05Speaker 1: to like a medical guy for Dax updates? What what's
- 59:08Speaker 1: your whole thought on going to Jerry now and Jerry
- 59:10Speaker 1: giving us updates? Well, I don't go. I don't go
- 59:13Speaker 1: to him for that, but I talked to Jerry a
- 59:14Speaker 1: lot and and um, Jerry and I actually have a story.
- 59:18Speaker 1: I stole one of a steak sandwiches recently and he
- 59:20Speaker 1: got so upset with me because I bullied him and
- 59:23Speaker 1: then he uh he I thought I was just choking
- 59:25Speaker 1: around but he was really piste off me and I
- 59:27Speaker 1: stole steaks that sandwich. Um. But the thing is, listen, no,
- 59:32Speaker 1: he's he's getting information for the medical department, which he's
- 59:35Speaker 1: now passing along. But here's the truth about Dax injury. Okay, yes,
- 59:39Speaker 1: it only takes seven to ten days. I think I
- 59:41Speaker 1: think the Jones get very very optimistic, right, and I'm
- 59:45Speaker 1: always like, dude, go on the other side, Man, tell
- 59:46Speaker 1: everybody's gonna be out eight weeks. So if he comes
- 59:49Speaker 1: back earlier, he looks like John Wayne, you know. But
- 59:52Speaker 1: when you tell people who's gonna come back earlier, he
- 59:53Speaker 1: dozen people get frustrated, but I think they just get
- 59:56Speaker 1: very very optimistic. The truth about the injury is that
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: it takes like seven to ten days for that wound
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to heal and then where the break was, if there
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: is a way to say it's an ideal place, I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: don't know if there's ever an ideal place for a
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: broken thumb, but it's way better down towards the hand
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: than is you know, in the middle of that that thumb. Um.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: But the truth is is nobody can tell you, including
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Jerry Jones, how quickly it's gonna take for Dad to
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: get his grip back, and not just the grip will
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: be able to spin that ball the way he wants to.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: So that's why, like, can he start throwing again soon, Yes,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: but nobody can tell you how fast that grip is
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: gonna come back with the exact way that he wants
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to start spinning that rock. You know, all the time
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: at Patrick Mahomes for a second, where I feel like
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: has never seen anything like it. He's I felt like
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: this off season he was so disrespected and people were
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: like moving him down the list of active But they
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: used to do that to Brady all the time too,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: But anything like, it's like you try and take down
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: people who are who are the best. And I don't
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: understand why either. I have no clue why. But hey, listen, man,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: it's my thirtieth year doing this, fox Man, I've never
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: seen anything like Patrick Mahomes in what way vision throws,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: the way he sees something that the amount of throws
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: he can make from different angles, from off balance, from
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: against the grain, from the accuracy, the way he just
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: looks like he's barely moving his wrist and all of
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: a sudden it's thirty five yards downfield, like he's it's insane.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: In fact, I think Mahomes is better now without Tyreek Hill.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: He's he's gonna evolve into an even better quarterback because
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: the tyreekil must were fortunate down downfield a lot, and
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: he would just he didn't have to have a lot
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: of patients. Now this is fortunate to have patients. And
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you're seeing him to start spread the ball out more,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: go through his progressions, and it just makes them a
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: lot more dangerous. We feel like these athletes are up
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: on this this crazy pedestal where they're not looking down
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: and seeing what we are doing down here. But I
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: imagine he's seeing and hearing or did hear a lot
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: of the stuff that's being said about him? Do you
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: feel like he's extra And it's hard to be extra
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: motivated when you're extremely motivated just you know, as an
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: everyday standard. But he felt he's extra motivated this year, No,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I think, And that's why I say he's different. Like
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: guys like he and Tom Brady, they don't need any motivation.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: They're great. You know, I've trained hundreds of players in
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: mixed Mars arts and I always tell these guys, hey,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: here's a secret to success. Find out who the best
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: is and do more than them. That's it pretty simple.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: And I can't tell you how many guys will be like, well,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I can't do more than Tom Brady. Why not like
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: to I'm out to do more than somebody else? Right,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: why not? You want to be great? If I know
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: the best isn't do more than them. Patrick Mahomes, the
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: way he works and things he works at you, you
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: gotta be You gotta be crazy to be great. You
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: gotta have that sickness right where. And really greatness comes
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: from the hours that you put work in that when
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: nobody's watching. And I think people like Mahomes and Brady,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: like Brady has the staying hour because today's player they
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: care more about being famous than being great. Being famous
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: is not the same as being great. Back in the day,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: you have to work your butt off to get famous,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: you have to get to the Pro Bowl. It was
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: a different type of player. But now because it's social media,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: they're all famous, and again a lot of them just
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: think being famous of being great, and it's not so
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: when you have guys like Tom or Patrick who just
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: care about being great and they're constantly just out working
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: the world. That's why you see these guys continue to
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: just rise up and they get better and better and better.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: And Tom storm for more yards or TVs. If you
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: get the stat in his fourties and he did his twenties,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: that's ridiculous. Justin Herbert, we're talking about Dack's injury. Let's
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: talk about Justin Herbert for a second. How hard is
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: it because again, with your m M A background, you've
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: probably strained and injured everything at some point. Yeah, I've
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: had this injury. Man, it sucks. Yeah, what's what's dealing with?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: And what do you expect from him all season? Oh?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: My god? So it's you're better off pain wise, you're
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: better breaking a rib then fracture in that cartilage between
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the ribs. First of all, you break the ribs more
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: dangerous because it could it could pop out and puncture alone. Right,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: But the cartilage, Man, it's hard to Terry Brownshaw just
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: said he had it. Took him seven weeks to get
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: over um and he didn't play it. It's hard to talk,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: laugh sneezing and coughing. That's the worst. Oh man, it
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: sucks so badly. Like I tried never to look up
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: at the sun when they when I have this and
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: The problem too is it's like a hard area to shoot,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: to shoot up right to inject. And you saw that
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: the last time with the Chargers, they try to shoot up,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: they punctured his love right, and that's that's what started
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: justin Herbert's career. But I don't man the fact that
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: he had that injury and then and I knew it
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: right away what happened. I said, I said, neither broke
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: his rib or or it got to cartilage. And I'm like, man,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: they're gonna have to pull him. But there's no way
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to turn and and tork. And
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: he threw that dime of a pass that was that
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: was ridiculous un fourth down. But it's like, I don't
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: know how he's gonna yell out as Cadence. I don't
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: know how he's gonna continue now let the adrenalines down.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: It's it's man, that injury. It sucks. Is that gonna
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: affect him all season long? Or is it at three
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: or four? He'll get over it? Um It takes. I mean,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: everybody's different. I'm trying to think out long bend. Mine
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: took about a month. Yeah, mine took a month of
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: trying not to sneeze and cough and I couldn't train.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: But I couldn't train with mine at all, and nor
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: did I have any desired to two more players. I
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: want to get hit by a helmet in the area. Yeah,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: I mean even the coughing, right, because I mean I
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: mean even that probably set you back two more players.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I want to ask you about Jalen Hurts and not
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: so much at what he's done this year. But it
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: seems like it was just yesterday that the big, the
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: big debate was a Philly want to commit to Jalen
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Hurts as their quarterback, pull him, let him play trade?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: So what have we learned though with how awesome he
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: is now versus when they were questioning if he could
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: even beat the quarterback? Well, he's better. I don't know
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: about awesome yet, right, only a couple of weeks. Um.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I want to see because now people started justin to
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: him as this new jail and Hurts if you will, right,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: So I want to see how we response to that.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: But we go back to like you know, I look
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: for guys who worked their butts off, and you know,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: buddy of mine used to coach for me and unbreakable.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Uh My gym in l A coaches him down there,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: trains him, and he's like, dude, this kid just NonStop,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: NonStop works. So you know, his thing was accuracy. It's
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: really hard to become more accurate as Tom goes on.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: But you know, were they were they looking to replace
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: him at a time, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, Um, they're trying
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: to upgrade if they thought. But as he continued to
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: work at this work of this work of this he
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: is now coming to and I think Eagle is gonna
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: be one of those teams. Um. I thought they're gonna
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: be a turnaround team this year, not as much for
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the talent they brought in, but for the fact that
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: last year with the head coach, Nick Sianity, they're all
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: kind of like, does this guy really know what he's doing?
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Should he have got the job? Where are we going here?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: And now they're all bought it, and now they're like, Okay,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: he's a king man in chart, we follow them, We're good.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: So they had just a different confidence about them a
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: right last one. I'm sure you could ask about this
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: a lot, like with Tom Brady and all the rumors
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: and tweets and do we expect this, whatever this is,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I'm even ask you to say what, yeah, because I'm
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: not TMZ. That's yeah, yeah, whatever this is. Do we
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: expect him to be affected all season long? Has this thing? Man?
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Where I was with him the week he came back,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: and they're the great ones, are like man like Randy
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Couture is my training partner. And Randy got hit with
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: these legal papers before he went down and fight Tim
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Sylvia for the heavyweight Championship of the World, and it
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: was bad. And he goes down with the biggest smile
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: on his face and he beats the dog, you know what,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: out of Tim Sylvia and Randy's forty four years of age,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: but he's smiling the whole time. And I'm going, well,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: how are you able to compartmentalize like that? And he said,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: because that cage is the only place my problems can't
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: touch me. And I think Tom is one of those
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: elite guys were man between those lines, his problems can't
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: touch him. But that's why I don't touch his personal
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: life because that's him, man, you know, that's that's him.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: That's that's that's Tom's life. And we all go through stuff, um,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: and do I think it will affect him on the field. No,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I don't. I think he's mentally strong like that Unbreakable
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: with Jay Glazer. It's podcast you can go and ch
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: actually check that out today and you can order the
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: book I'm Breakable How I try my depression anxiety into
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: motivation and you can too. Hey, just appreciate how candid
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: you are about struggle in general. It's not easy. Vulnerability
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: is a really hard thing to learn, a very empowering
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: thing which you can under stand and see the effects
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: that has on other people in the strength that you
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: get from. So I think you have inspired so many
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: and so many more with the podcast, And thank you
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: for your time and thank you for your after And
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I appreciate also, like one people understanding I'm talking about
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: heavy stuff, but I'm also we're gonna laugh like laughter
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: helps me through it too. So if you read the book,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: you listen to podcast, le'll do some happy stuff. But
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: you've definitely got some laughter in there too, because I
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: think the gray h laughter at Jay Glazer on on
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: the Socials. We'll be looking forward to It's j C
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: on TV again. Dude, Thank you, brother buddy, all right,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: thanks to Jay Glazer, Thanks to you guys. That's all
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: final thoughts, Kevin. My final thoughts are going back to
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: my team and Patriots. I think I might have the
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: feeling of what it feels like to be just an
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: average fan base or a team for the first time
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: in about twenty years and settling in one, so you
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: haven't really as someone who has mature emotions, I had
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: to deal with a team that's only okay, thank god
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: you do. It's not fun. It's yeah, it's not fun.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: But my team's never went or at least they haven't
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: until recently. We haven't won the big one ever. Basketball
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: football is so good. I'm glad you're suffering. Yeah, that's
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: very nice, and you have cowboy fans in here, but
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: they'll never actually like realize it or the reality of it. Well, no,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: we just were positive. We gotta stay positive. Back our
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: team and the ups and the downs. Your final thought,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: My final thought is I've lost my car. I lost
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: my wife's car. The Chiefs were supposed to cover minus five.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: They did not. They actually lost the game, So that's stupid.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: But next podcast, kids have little cars like little geep. Yeah,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: I got one of those, like the ones you can
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: flint stone. But no, next pot, next podcast, I will
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: give you a twelve game parlay that you can just
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: bet a dollar and we can at least get a
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: really nice bike. Get that game. Yeah, that's gonna take
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: the whole podcast. Guys. Look, if you hit this with
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: one dollar back, we can get it. Man, one of
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: those Trek bikes. Huffy, you can get five Huffies. Okay,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: these big twelve game we're coming up Friday. We'll call
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: it the twelve Venture. That's cool. Yeah, I like that. Finally,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say this, The sun comes up tomorrow.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: It does. So anytime you're down, you think, I hate
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: football and I hate We've lost it all and there's
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: no reason to go on and no reason to play.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: No one's to watch another game ever, and you're just sad.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: The sun comes out tomorrow, with or without you. It's
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: coming up, and I'd rather be with you. And I'm
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: talking to myself. I was distraught. I woke up the
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: next day distraught, and I have to tell myself We've
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: lost other big games, and you know what, after a
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: couple of days, it still sucks, but you just adjust
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: yourself and you get back into it. Just like life.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Adversity hits you. What do you do? You fall down?
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Stay down? Sometimes, where do you get back up? And
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: as a fan, I'm gonna get back up. I'm gonna
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: watch this play Alabama, Alna tell you this. I'm gonna
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: tell you this, and we're gonna end it. And this
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: is a part of the reason it was so brutal too.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I would have one game day was coming to Faville.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Oh dang, and you would have been on it. Did that? Wait?
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Move on. I've never been the guest's move on. You're
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: that you're about but I'll move on. I've never been
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: the guest picker from what I was told leading up
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: to it. No, that hurts. Now. You guys are sad
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: for me? Yeah? Yeah, multiple level Sun is definitely not
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: coming up tomorrow. Sounds coming up with you without you.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: I'd rather be with you, but it's coming up. It's
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: going to be a rainy and then it comes up
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: the next day. All right, Thank you guys, thanks to
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Draft Kings. We will see you on Friday.
