Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (Breakdown & Pairings)
We break down Chantal Akerman's 1975 ode to the women in her life, "Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles." We talk about what an ungrateful loser her son is and discuss the merits of her rigid schedule. After that, we each create a Double-Bill with another film to pair with this over 3 hour masterpiece.
