- 0:03Speaker 2: All Right, people, take out your notebooks and pencils and
- 0:05Speaker 2: frive roles. You're listening to the tech Talk Radio with
- 0:09Speaker 2: true geeks. And by the way, I'm the insider and
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm a geek too.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to this week's episode of tech Talk Radio. I'm
- 0:18Speaker 1: Andy Taylor, I'm Sean dea Weird, and it is good
- 0:21Speaker 1: to see you. How you doing good?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Yes, spent a week. Yeah, it's spent a week. And
- 0:25Speaker 3: you know, we're getting closer to Christmas and I keep
- 0:27Speaker 3: buying myself present.
- 0:30Speaker 1: That's the hard thing too. You're you're sitting there thinking,
- 0:32Speaker 1: I want to get something for somebody in the Oh. Yeah,
- 0:34Speaker 1: you know.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I Telkaitlin because you know, the last episode we talked
- 0:38Speaker 3: about how I bought the Analog three D. I asked her.
- 0:40Speaker 3: I was like, can I buy myself a Christmas President?
- 0:43Speaker 3: And when she asked me, like, what is it? Oh,
- 0:45Speaker 3: it's a it's a console that will play my old
- 0:48Speaker 3: and Tennessee's four games, right, And she got kind of
- 0:51Speaker 3: bummed because then she then told me what she had
- 0:53Speaker 3: already gotten me, which was a pocket like a handheld
- 0:56Speaker 3: version which will play a lot of the old classic games.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Oh I think I've seen those. Yeah, they looked pretty good.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I felt kind of bad, but I didn't tell
- 1:03Speaker 3: her how much it costs though, so.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Oh you kind of kept battle.
- 1:10Speaker 3: No, so I did get it and it's awesome.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah all right, So now what is the name of this? So,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because let's face it, sean the nostalgia that we're seeing
- 1:21Speaker 1: now of games, and you think about it, you go, oh, yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 1: that was so much fun to play and I love that,
- 1:27Speaker 1: And then you think, wait, that came out forty thirty,
- 1:31Speaker 1: twenty years ago, but the nostalgia factor is still good
- 1:34Speaker 1: and they're still great gaming that's available.
- 1:37Speaker 3: So the Tendo sixty four came out in nineteen ninety six,
- 1:40Speaker 3: so thirty years ago. So I was talking to a
- 1:42Speaker 3: friend of mine last night. I was like, man, this
- 1:44Speaker 3: is just taking me back twenty years to when we
- 1:46Speaker 3: used to play these in our bay, you know, in
- 1:47Speaker 3: the base entry snow days, and goes, dude, that wasn't
- 1:49Speaker 3: twenty years ago. I was like, wait, what, Oh yeah,
- 1:53Speaker 3: it was almost thirty years ago, right, wow. So it's
- 1:57Speaker 3: crazy to think that gaming has been a part of
- 1:59Speaker 3: my life for that long. But you know, I started
- 2:02Speaker 3: playing on original Nintendo. My mom played a lot of
- 2:06Speaker 3: Zelda when I was growing up and drew her own maps. Wow,
- 2:10Speaker 3: that kind of got my start there. And you know,
- 2:12Speaker 3: then we bought a Nintendo, you know, a Nintendo Super Nintendo,
- 2:15Speaker 3: and then a PlayStation, and then we kind of verged
- 2:17Speaker 3: away from the sixty four ward. We kind of branched
- 2:20Speaker 3: off with the PlayStation side of things into the Xbox
- 2:22Speaker 3: and stuff. And I didn't get into sixty four gaming
- 2:24Speaker 3: because my cousin had one. It cut my friends had them,
- 2:27Speaker 3: but I really wasn't into sixty four gaming then, it
- 2:29Speaker 3: mostly just by proxy with my friends. I picked one
- 2:32Speaker 3: up a handful of years ago and started playing the
- 2:34Speaker 3: old classics again. And then with the introduction of the
- 2:38Speaker 3: Nintendo Switch Online, you could buy the subscription for the
- 2:41Speaker 3: year and play game Boy games and Nintendo games and
- 2:44Speaker 3: sixty four games, GameCube games, all that stuff on Nintendo Online.
- 2:48Speaker 3: But it's only if you have an active Internet connection,
- 2:50Speaker 3: right when, don't you really realistically.
- 2:52Speaker 1: These days nowadays?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Yeah, So I bought an original sixty four console, fixed
- 2:56Speaker 3: it up, made it work, and was playing on that
- 2:58Speaker 3: for a while. Shelved it a decade ago. And then
- 3:01Speaker 3: about a year ago, I saw the Analog three D.
- 3:04Speaker 3: That's what it's called, called the Analog three D. Analog
- 3:07Speaker 3: dot Co is the website. They make an Analog pocket
- 3:09Speaker 3: which plays Gameboy games and stuff. But then they announced
- 3:11Speaker 3: they were making a Nintendo sixty four. It runs it
- 3:14Speaker 3: all hardware based, and I was like, you know, I
- 3:17Speaker 3: didn't need it. I had my sixty four. If I
- 3:18Speaker 3: wanted to play it, I didn't really wasn't into it,
- 3:21Speaker 3: like I wasn't super into ritual gaming again, like I
- 3:23Speaker 3: was playing current games and Pat passed. And then I
- 3:27Speaker 3: saw that they were restocking, like I was just looking
- 3:29Speaker 3: it up because I was curious about it, and they
- 3:31Speaker 3: happened to be restocking the next morning. So I was like,
- 3:33Speaker 3: this is the can't be a coincidence that I thought
- 3:35Speaker 3: about it and then it.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Happened since yeah, yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So then I said an alarm. I talked to Caitlin
- 3:41Speaker 3: that night and then I bought it the next morning
- 3:42Speaker 3: it shipped. I think I got it early December. I
- 3:45Speaker 3: think like the third or fourth of December.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we had talked about it and you hadn't received
- 3:48Speaker 1: it yet.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Right then, and in that time I had dug out
- 3:51Speaker 3: my controllers, try and I couldn't find any of my games. Still,
- 3:55Speaker 3: you still couldn't.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Find any of them.
- 3:57Speaker 3: No, I don't know. I don't there somebody has them.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out if a friend has them,
- 4:02Speaker 3: if they got put in a box when I moved,
- 4:04Speaker 3: and I don't know they're missing. I have some manuals,
- 4:08Speaker 3: I got the controllers. I had the actual sixty four,
- 4:10Speaker 3: just not the game, so they're somewhere. So I started
- 4:13Speaker 3: I started paniccking because I was like, I'm gonna get
- 4:15Speaker 3: this thing and I'm gonna spend all this money and
- 4:17Speaker 3: games to play.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no like games preloaded on it, like two
- 4:20Speaker 1: or three.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You can't load ROMs on it. It's not like there's
- 4:23Speaker 3: no way to play games except if you have the
- 4:25Speaker 3: physical cards. I'm not gonna tell anybody where I bought them,
- 4:28Speaker 3: but I started scrounging the internet and ended up buying
- 4:31Speaker 3: I bought five total games now right. I bought GoldenEye,
- 4:36Speaker 3: Super Mario sixty four, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, and Operative Time.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Oh wow, those are all great games.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and the one that I want to talk about,
- 4:47Speaker 3: And I have a question for the collector I'm not
- 4:49Speaker 3: a collector, right, I play games, I don't collect them,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but this one stirred a little bit of the collector
- 4:55Speaker 3: bug in me, and I don't know what to do.
- 4:58Speaker 3: On an auction site that I was on, I found
- 5:01Speaker 3: a perfect dark box and that's all it said. It
- 5:04Speaker 3: didn't really say if there was a cart in it
- 5:07Speaker 3: or anything.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Cardboard.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yes, I might have been buying the box. It's like
- 5:11Speaker 3: on faith. I just said, you know what, I'm sure
- 5:14Speaker 3: it's just a mislabeling. I'm sure it's got a card
- 5:16Speaker 3: in it. Otherwise it would say just to the box.
- 5:18Speaker 3: So I got it.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, we're gonna give it a give us
- 5:21Speaker 1: a view of it.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's in the box.
- 5:23Speaker 1: It is in the box though, so yeah, wow, that's
- 5:26Speaker 1: the original box.
- 5:26Speaker 3: That's like the original box. So I opened it right, Yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 3: the manuals are still in there.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh cool.
- 5:33Speaker 3: It is still physically sealed in the box by the cardboard.
- 5:38Speaker 3: It has not been opened.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Oh man. So now you're wondering, should this for dirt cheat? Really?
- 5:45Speaker 3: I don't know if I just happened to find the
- 5:47Speaker 3: auction at the right time or what. But I could
- 5:50Speaker 3: sell this for three times what I paid.
- 5:51Speaker 1: For really, Wow, I'm not going to Well have you
- 5:55Speaker 1: been like fighting with yourself trying to decide.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I really have? It's like closed in box, it's worth
- 6:01Speaker 3: more money. It's put the carts in there, and it
- 6:04Speaker 3: looks so clean.
- 6:06Speaker 1: That's gonna be a tough one because you probably couldn't
- 6:09Speaker 1: buy it as cheap for a second one.
- 6:11Speaker 3: But like the perforated pieces of the cardboard haven't been
- 6:14Speaker 3: pulled out. I don't know what to do.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe some people who watching this could share their thoughts,
- 6:20Speaker 1: should Sean, crack the case and open it.
- 6:24Speaker 3: You know, this has sparked a little bit of nostalgia.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I mean I've been on a retro kick the last
- 6:29Speaker 3: six months and I've been playing games that I played
- 6:32Speaker 3: when I was a kid. A lot of Diablo, a
- 6:34Speaker 3: lot of like hocus Pocus, you know, Doom, Yeah. Wolf
- 6:38Speaker 3: was all those games that I played growing up. And
- 6:42Speaker 3: I think that's what drove me to want to get this,
- 6:44Speaker 3: because it's like, you know, I want to play some
- 6:45Speaker 3: of those classic games because like the gaming world kind
- 6:47Speaker 3: of stinks right now where it's like you don't own anything,
- 6:50Speaker 3: it's all licensed. You have to be online all the time.
- 6:52Speaker 3: So I got the games I started buying, the games
- 6:54Speaker 3: I started finding him, spent some of my my own
- 6:56Speaker 3: my saving like just money that I had saved up
- 6:59Speaker 3: just for by four whatever I wanted to get. And
- 7:00Speaker 3: I think I'm good with those five games right now,
- 7:02Speaker 3: right right, those five games, with the games that I
- 7:04Speaker 3: grew up playing. There's a couple other games that are
- 7:06Speaker 3: way too expensive for me to get that are very
- 7:09Speaker 3: popular that I also played, but I'm not spending one
- 7:11Speaker 3: hundred dollars or more for a cart at this point.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Wow, for some of those and how much how much
- 7:16Speaker 1: were like when the original price in some of these
- 7:19Speaker 1: games when they came out. Just give people an idea.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Right, right, So they were still like back in the
- 7:23Speaker 3: back in the mid nineties, they were still fifty bucks
- 7:27Speaker 3: for these games. I mean, with inflation and stuff like
- 7:30Speaker 3: the you know, it's probably I probably play a little
- 7:32Speaker 3: bit more than what I would have paid back then.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But yeah, you got to find them in good condition, right,
- 7:37Speaker 3: You got to find them not beat up, not corroded,
- 7:40Speaker 3: not fake, because there's a lot of like the more
- 7:43Speaker 3: popular titles, there's a lot of fakes floating around.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm wondering, Sean, there's there's a website We've
- 7:48Speaker 1: talked about it before, GOG that has a lot of
- 7:51Speaker 1: games that maybe we played, And I don't know if
- 7:54Speaker 1: they ported some of the games that we played on
- 7:57Speaker 1: cartridge or whatever or these consoles to this, But I mean,
- 8:01Speaker 1: is there a difference, Like, say, now with this device
- 8:05Speaker 1: you've got that you're playing GoldenEye, which I got a
- 8:08Speaker 1: chance to see some of the video when I was
- 8:10Speaker 1: totally blown away. Is there a difference playing it there
- 8:13Speaker 1: on that original kind of kind of feel that console,
- 8:17Speaker 1: then playing it on GOG.
- 8:18Speaker 3: They don't do console games. They mostly do PC games.
- 8:21Speaker 3: You'd have to rohm or emulate console games like and
- 8:25Speaker 3: there's a difference in playing the console the ROMs versus
- 8:28Speaker 3: an actual console.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And some people are you know, puritans when it comes
- 8:31Speaker 3: to that, they'll only play on the OG console. Some
- 8:34Speaker 3: people don't care. I'm indifferent, Like, I'll play them on
- 8:36Speaker 3: a ROM if I have to, if I need to
- 8:39Speaker 3: or want to, Like playing them on Nintendo Switch Online,
- 8:42Speaker 3: I don't think there's a difference playing it on Intend
- 8:43Speaker 3: Switch Online versus playing on the anlog TWD. I really
- 8:46Speaker 3: can't feel a difference. The quality I think maybe better
- 8:49Speaker 3: on this just because it's hardware based. It's not streaming,
- 8:52Speaker 3: it's not from my switch, but it's still fun to play.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So the other thing is I was a little disappointed
- 8:59Speaker 3: in is apparently they did this with the with the
- 9:01Speaker 3: analog pocket, which is like their game Boy version of
- 9:05Speaker 3: their hardware game Boy version, is they released special editions.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Oh so, I'm gonna show you a picture a D.
- 9:10Speaker 3: All right, I can I can change this.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Here, okay, all right, showing us on the video.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Much like the hardware side of the industry, a lot
- 9:21Speaker 3: of people mod they're in Nintendo sixty four's with colored
- 9:23Speaker 3: shells analog three D. They're releasing eight different colors besides
- 9:28Speaker 3: black or white. Right, and that came out two and
- 9:30Speaker 3: a half weeks after I bought mine.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Oh man, now this is the poet I know, right.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I would have waited and tried to get a colored
- 9:38Speaker 3: one because these are cool, like the lime green, the turquoise,
- 9:41Speaker 3: the purple, the red, the yellow, those are really cool pieces.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So how does this happen with that? How would this
- 9:47Speaker 1: hook up to your TV or monitor?
- 9:48Speaker 3: HD?
- 9:49Speaker 1: I oh nice, it's.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Straight in HD's I've got it. I've got hooked up
- 9:53Speaker 3: to my computer. Right now, so I can show you
- 9:55Speaker 3: it's just now. God, A'll capture card HDMI in HD
- 9:58Speaker 3: I out two monitors I can see and captured if
- 10:01Speaker 3: I want to. It works, it looks, it looks good,
- 10:04Speaker 3: it feels good, it plays good. I'm using an original Control,
- 10:07Speaker 3: original hardwired controller. It supports. It supports Bluetooth or wireless controllers.
- 10:13Speaker 3: So if you have the eight bit DO controllers or
- 10:17Speaker 3: you have now, it doesn't work with the Nintendo Switch Online.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Controllers like the ones I have for my switch don't work,
- 10:24Speaker 3: so I can't connect those to my analog treaty, which
- 10:26Speaker 3: is a bummer because I've got two sixty four controllers
- 10:29Speaker 3: for my switch that I was expecting to be able
- 10:31Speaker 3: to use with this, it doesn't support that. Now, with
- 10:35Speaker 3: a blue Retro mod adapter, you could plug that in
- 10:40Speaker 3: and then connect the switch the switch controllers to the
- 10:43Speaker 3: mod which then physically plugs into the device.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Now, how do you get how do you get the
- 10:47Speaker 1: games on this one? Because obviously with the then.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah, let me let me show you. Let me switch
- 10:54Speaker 3: back over to my camera view here.
- 10:56Speaker 1: All right, and you could watch this up on our
- 10:59Speaker 1: YouTube page h or blog. You'll find you'll find it
- 11:01Speaker 1: all there, uh as well if you want to see
- 11:04Speaker 1: it now. This is the Analog three it's Analog three
- 11:07Speaker 1: D is what they're called.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Analog three D. Yeah, but it's spelled Analog is spelled
- 11:11Speaker 3: the UK version with an own and e okayke. And
- 11:15Speaker 3: this is this is the box right, So it's got
- 11:17Speaker 3: the four controller ports on the front. The cart goes
- 11:20Speaker 3: slides in the just like it.
- 11:21Speaker 1: It looks just like yeah it does.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And it's got uh USB so you can plug your
- 11:26Speaker 3: controllers in USB if you want to to charge them. Uh.
- 11:29Speaker 3: The operating system and everything runs off of an SD
- 11:32Speaker 3: car here on the back right, HDMI and USBC charging
- 11:35Speaker 3: USBC C power.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So it's so cool. That is really neat. And how
- 11:38Speaker 1: much that looks?
- 11:39Speaker 3: How much was that if you don't mind with shipping
- 11:41Speaker 3: and everything. I think it was like just over three hundred.
- 11:44Speaker 1: All right, And then you got to be prepared if
- 11:46Speaker 1: you don't have the games, whether you're going online like
- 11:49Speaker 1: Sean has found somewhere, even Bookman's that's here in.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I mean, I went scoured all the stores around here,
- 11:56Speaker 3: half priced books, discreplay game stores. I was actually kind
- 12:02Speaker 3: of surprised. I went into a store here I hadn't
- 12:05Speaker 3: been into and I was like, do you have any
- 12:07Speaker 3: sixty four games? He goes, we don't do digital gaming here.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I was like, Nintendo sixty four games, we don't do
- 12:12Speaker 3: digital gaming here. I was like, he was kind of
- 12:15Speaker 3: rude about it. I was, yeah, okay, thanks, I'm just
- 12:19Speaker 3: gonna look around. I guess yeah, and I walked out.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Thrift stores actually can sometimes you can find a good
- 12:25Speaker 1: find at a thrift store when it comes to that,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Like White Elephant might even have them from time to time.
- 12:31Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean you kind of got to just
- 12:32Speaker 3: get lucky at those places.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, exactly. Oh wow.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yeah. So, like I said, I got, you know, GoldenEye,
- 12:38Speaker 3: Mario sixty four, Zelda Ocreative Time, Mario Kart. And now
- 12:46Speaker 3: for those listeners.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Who were thinking, okay, we're talking about these some older games.
- 12:50Speaker 1: That means you know, eight bit, you know, blotchy blog,
- 12:54Speaker 1: like maybe it doesn't have that good look. I don't
- 12:57Speaker 1: know if you can fire up GoldenEye. Well, well we're
- 13:00Speaker 1: on the video just to show you the video gameplay
- 13:04Speaker 1: of this unit from Analog three D. Actually this looks
- 13:08Speaker 1: really good, and if you remember.
- 13:10Speaker 3: This is so if you're watching the stream. Right, this
- 13:12Speaker 3: is the old games still because it uses the RAM
- 13:15Speaker 3: to store the saves, it doesn't have to store it
- 13:18Speaker 3: with a battery. Save files are still on these games
- 13:21Speaker 3: from whoever owned these previously.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Really, oh wow.
- 13:25Speaker 3: There's a complete Yeah, there's a complete game with almost
- 13:27Speaker 3: every mission completed in here already because somebody whoever owned
- 13:29Speaker 3: this game before. So I built a new one and
- 13:31Speaker 3: was playing it. But so yeah, I was just playing.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I just finished the level right before we were you know,
- 13:37Speaker 3: we were talking. So right now I have to get
- 13:38Speaker 3: the goldennikey and leave, and I got to photograph the
- 13:41Speaker 3: main video screen. So the gameplay is fun. I'm just
- 13:44Speaker 3: playing off my screen, so it doesn't it probably doesn't
- 13:46Speaker 3: look the best to me right now, but you're seeing
- 13:48Speaker 3: a direct output of the capture card that.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Still looks pretty amazing. Now, pires Brosdon. Actually did he
- 13:53Speaker 1: do the voice?
- 13:54Speaker 3: I guess there's no there's no voice.
- 13:57Speaker 2: No.
- 13:58Speaker 3: I mean there's some cut screens, but it's there's no
- 14:00Speaker 3: oh real uh screens or anything. But the gameplay is
- 14:04Speaker 3: really good. Yeah, he's gonna hit the alarm up.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Up, it's uh, it's it's James Bond stuff. So yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 1: well back then, we probably not for the kids, you know,
- 14:16Speaker 1: it was for the grown ups. But it's still fun
- 14:18Speaker 1: to watch.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah, this is like stuff that my parents probably didn't
- 14:21Speaker 3: let it like it. That's probably why I didn't know it.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Now what you're playing with a controller, right, I'm a mouse.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm a mouse keyboard guy, you know, And I guess
- 14:28Speaker 1: I gotta I'd have to get used to that. Again.
- 14:31Speaker 1: It's still pretty. It looks like it flows really well,
- 14:34Speaker 1: not a lot of lag, I mean.
- 14:36Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. Like the Analog three D was
- 14:39Speaker 3: built on hardware and it's over clocked, so it actually
- 14:42Speaker 3: plays some of the games at a at a better
- 14:44Speaker 3: bit rate or a better processing speed, so they actually
- 14:48Speaker 3: are smoother. Hey, I picked up the Goldenike.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Oh id that guy that's the that that he did
- 14:52Speaker 1: that big pose in there when he Yeah, I remember that.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yes, Boris, Boris, I gotta photog. I gotta photograph something
- 14:59Speaker 3: and I'm not sure how to do.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Does this make you want to see the Golden Eye
- 15:01Speaker 1: movie again? Because it follows the movie pretty close?
- 15:04Speaker 3: Right, It follows the movie almost to a t, right,
- 15:07Speaker 3: so you actually play all the missions and stuff.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's awesome pretty cool. It's so cool.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But yeah, so anyway, so that's that's pretty much the
- 15:14Speaker 3: extent of what that is.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So all right, so can I ask how much was
- 15:18Speaker 1: the Golden Eye game?
- 15:20Speaker 3: I think I paid twenty five bucks for it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Well, that's not bad control.
- 15:24Speaker 3: There's the controllers original wired and sixty four controller atomic purple.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Now you had that though, still right, Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I bought another. I bought another one because I only
- 15:34Speaker 3: have two. I want to have four. I only have two,
- 15:37Speaker 3: so I bought a third one. This is my third one,
- 15:39Speaker 3: right because I can't because I can't because I want
- 15:41Speaker 3: to be able to have do four player games.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I had two wired ones and I have two Nintendo
- 15:50Speaker 3: Switch Online sixty four controllers to play on my switch.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I didn't know those weren't going to work with the
- 15:55Speaker 3: analog three D, so that gave me my four. Right,
- 15:58Speaker 3: So now I need to get two more or I
- 16:02Speaker 3: got one, so I need one more wired one to
- 16:04Speaker 3: be able to have four total controllers.
- 16:05Speaker 1: All right, So we've mentioned we mentioned you know, like
- 16:09Speaker 1: the White Elephant. We mentioned you know, thrift stores. We
- 16:12Speaker 1: had a good question from al this week who wanted
- 16:15Speaker 1: to know some tips about buying a used computer. He's
- 16:19Speaker 1: getting a new computer. It's gonna be a used computer.
- 16:22Speaker 1: He told me the specs. I'll tell you one thing
- 16:24Speaker 1: that made me say, yeah, get it. That's a good deal.
- 16:27Speaker 1: He wanted to get a high He wanted to get
- 16:28Speaker 1: a gaming machine, not because he games, but because he
- 16:33Speaker 1: believes that a gaming machine is going to have the
- 16:35Speaker 1: highest quality graphics, the highest you know processing. You know
- 16:41Speaker 1: it's gonna have it's gonna have good specs on it,
- 16:43Speaker 1: so you're gonna be able to do stuff. And he
- 16:45Speaker 1: said he doesn't game, but he just figured that the
- 16:47Speaker 1: gaming system is gonna be pretty good. And he said
- 16:50Speaker 1: he was looking at this Dell system. I want to
- 16:52Speaker 1: say it was a thirty eight to forty, might have
- 16:54Speaker 1: been thirty four eighty. I'm going off my memory, but
- 16:58Speaker 1: he was going through the specs. He said it was
- 17:00Speaker 1: an I nine processor that was running Windows eleven Pro,
- 17:04Speaker 1: so he didn't have to worry about that. He's got
- 17:05Speaker 1: a Windows ten machine at home he's afraid to use,
- 17:08Speaker 1: you know, rufous or it doesn't qualify for the upgrade.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So he didn't want to lose anything on there. So
- 17:15Speaker 1: he's going to start fresh with this. Had a had
- 17:18Speaker 1: two four had two two terabyte drives in it, right,
- 17:22Speaker 1: So I thought, okay, that's good, that's pretty good. You know,
- 17:24Speaker 1: they're not as they're not as you know M two's,
- 17:27Speaker 1: which are great, they're SSDs. But then he said it
- 17:31Speaker 1: had one hundred and twenty eight gigabytes of memory. And
- 17:39Speaker 1: that's what got me because I said, right now, the
- 17:41Speaker 1: cost of memory is through the roof. If anybody has
- 17:46Speaker 1: tried to buy memory sticks, they get online, they go,
- 17:49Speaker 1: wait a minute, what happened to the cost of memory.
- 17:51Speaker 1: It's crazy. This system he was going to be able
- 17:54Speaker 1: to purchase for eight hundred dollars And I told him,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I said, you know what, make sure boots up. But
- 18:01Speaker 1: he said he wanted to know you know what're just
- 18:02Speaker 1: some tips about buying a used computer.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Oh boy, that's a load of question.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:07Speaker 3: So it's like, you want to inspect it yourself before
- 18:09Speaker 3: you get it. You want to make sure it power's on,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and you want to make sure it posts. If it
- 18:14Speaker 3: has a hard drive in it, I would just take
- 18:16Speaker 3: the hard drive out. I would just buy a new
- 18:17Speaker 3: hard drive from what, just not even bother with it.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I mean, unless they're really good solid state drives, you
- 18:22Speaker 3: can run smart on them and see how long they've
- 18:24Speaker 3: been on. No, many read rights they have because mechanical
- 18:28Speaker 3: drives specifically, they have a lifespan because they're mechanical. Solid
- 18:33Speaker 3: state drives have a read write life. They actually can't.
- 18:36Speaker 3: They actually have a specific amount of read rights they
- 18:40Speaker 3: can do before they start to degree.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you might. You might actually find that over time
- 18:45Speaker 1: they'll start to the quality you just you know, you
- 18:48Speaker 1: have little things that will happen and stuff like that,
- 18:50Speaker 1: so you have to think about that.
- 18:52Speaker 3: So those things like you want to make sure it
- 18:54Speaker 3: has a power supply that's going to be powerful enough
- 18:57Speaker 3: to support any peripherals like graphics card or your processing power,
- 19:04Speaker 3: your processor, any other PCI cards you may have in there.
- 19:07Speaker 3: If you have an all one water pump or water cooler,
- 19:10Speaker 3: you want to make sure it can support that. You're
- 19:14Speaker 3: taking risks buying us used equipment like you just are.
- 19:17Speaker 3: It's just there's nothing around getting around that. But you
- 19:21Speaker 3: can inspect for physical damage. You can expect for water damage,
- 19:27Speaker 3: you can expect for corrosion, those sort of things. If
- 19:31Speaker 3: you open up machine, if you open up a machine
- 19:34Speaker 3: and a bunch of crumbs and dust and mouse caked
- 19:38Speaker 3: for a mouse or you know it's cover caked in
- 19:41Speaker 3: dust like that is a sign that somebody didn't take
- 19:43Speaker 3: care of it, right. Yeah, So there are obvious signs
- 19:47Speaker 3: to look out for, but more often people selling.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I'll tell you one one that I've found once. Take
- 19:54Speaker 1: a look at the fans, especially if the graphics card
- 19:57Speaker 1: and had a thirty I think you said had a
- 19:59Speaker 1: thirty in it. Take a look at the fans. If
- 20:03Speaker 1: if you were in a house that somebody smokes in
- 20:08Speaker 1: and they had a computer, you're making that face. The
- 20:12Speaker 1: fans become not only do they not maybe spin as much,
- 20:17Speaker 1: but they get this brown krud that is on the fans,
- 20:23Speaker 1: that that gets over everything, every on the motherboard, everything
- 20:26Speaker 1: it gets.
- 20:28Speaker 3: I have cleaned computers for people's parents that have smoked
- 20:32Speaker 3: their entire lives, and it is disgusting.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gross.
- 20:36Speaker 3: It's gross.
- 20:37Speaker 1: It comes into like a yellowish brown kind of it's tar.
- 20:40Speaker 3: It's cleaning tar and nicotine, and it's gross cleaning a
- 20:45Speaker 3: smoking computer or a computer that's been in a dirty
- 20:48Speaker 3: environment where maybe there's wood smoke. Like I cleaned one
- 20:51Speaker 3: that somebody had in their basement that had a woodstove
- 20:53Speaker 3: in it, so it still had a lot of wood, like, oh,
- 20:56Speaker 3: smoke smell to it and stuff kind of that kind
- 20:58Speaker 3: of smoke to it.
- 20:59Speaker 1: But yeah, check the fans too on it.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Yeah, check the fans. Make sure they all spin and
- 21:05Speaker 3: if you you can actually spin them with your hand
- 21:07Speaker 3: freely and see if they if they feel like they're dragging.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I mean, fans are cheap.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you can get you can get new.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Fans for relatively inexpensive. So I wouldn't. I wouldn't make
- 21:18Speaker 3: or break a deal on just a fan.
- 21:19Speaker 1: But I know I saw somebody went was doing a
- 21:22Speaker 1: yard sale out here and they had an old CRT
- 21:25Speaker 1: and they had a computer for sale, and I'm thinking
- 21:27Speaker 1: it had to be probably Windows seven. Maybe I just.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Sold a ton of stuff at the yard sale. I
- 21:34Speaker 3: got rid of a ton of old laptops and old MacBooks,
- 21:37Speaker 3: and like I was selling them for dirt cheap.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Did you let people boot them up like it? Because
- 21:42Speaker 1: I would make sure.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I put Yeah, I put Linux Mint, Oh we am
- 21:46Speaker 3: on there and it said if you're ready to this
- 21:50Speaker 3: is this is you can just turn it on and
- 21:51Speaker 3: put your user and password in and go. You know,
- 21:54Speaker 3: I would say max max if you put it in
- 21:56Speaker 3: recovery mode. You can reimage and then you can let
- 21:59Speaker 3: them as soon as you get to that first page.
- 22:02Speaker 3: For a Mac, you just shut it off and then
- 22:04Speaker 3: it boots up and like, yeah, I mean I I
- 22:07Speaker 3: I sold video cards, I sold ram I sold all
- 22:11Speaker 3: sorts of stuff. So I think my last year.
- 22:12Speaker 1: So I was thinking, I have a couple of old
- 22:15Speaker 1: half nine thirty two's from Killer Master. I mean they're massive,
- 22:19Speaker 1: These things are massive, and you know, I thought about
- 22:21Speaker 1: selling them online because I don't use I go for
- 22:25Speaker 1: the smaller computers now, you know, just they're they're much nicer.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But shipping would kill me because they're super heavy. Yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 1: so I thought maybe selling them, you know, at a
- 22:34Speaker 1: guard sale in my but then I thought.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Somebody would pick it up for ten bucks.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Well, I'm just thinking, Now, take one of the old
- 22:41Speaker 1: motherboards I have, install you know, Linux on it, put
- 22:45Speaker 1: Minna and sell it as Hey, it's a working Linux computer.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You want to get into Linux. This would be the
- 22:50Speaker 1: way to go. Hmmm. That's actually you can be a
- 22:53Speaker 1: good idea there. All right, we're gonna take quick break.
- 22:55Speaker 1: We come back. We'll talk about maybe some holiday gift
- 22:58Speaker 1: giving ideas of things we're going to be looking at
- 23:01Speaker 1: coming up, and I know one you're going to be
- 23:02Speaker 1: really excited about. So we'll do that when we come
- 23:04Speaker 1: back with more of Tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 23:07Speaker 1: I'm Sean.
- 23:08Speaker 3: We're subscribing like to us on all the streaming platforms
- 23:11Speaker 3: that we're on, Spotify, Spreaker, tech Talk Radio, YouTube, x, Facebook,
- 23:15Speaker 3: you name it, find us there.
- 23:17Speaker 1: We'll be right back and now back to Tech Talk Radio.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So I know one of the things that is a
- 23:23Speaker 1: passion for Sean has been drones. We've talked about drones
- 23:27Speaker 1: quite a bit. You got Dji, you get into three
- 23:30Speaker 1: sixty with their devices, and there's a new one on
- 23:34Speaker 1: the market that I started looking at and I thought
- 23:37Speaker 1: this should be kind of fun to take a look at.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It's called Anti Gravity. It's the Anti Gravity A one
- 23:44Speaker 1: and I saw one of the launch videos on it
- 23:46Speaker 1: and I thought this would be kind of cool. So
- 23:48Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago, I said them an email saying, hey,
- 23:51Speaker 1: I'd love to show this on the Fox eleven segments
- 23:53Speaker 1: we do. It's always fun to get, you know, the
- 23:56Speaker 1: news anchors to be able to fly the drones. The
- 24:00Speaker 1: last time we looked at A drone was the one
- 24:01Speaker 1: that I ended up buying was the Mavick. Which one
- 24:05Speaker 1: do I have? I have the three of the four? Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 1: I think I have the three mini. And we flew
- 24:12Speaker 1: in the studio and it was a blast. Andrew Capasso
- 24:14Speaker 1: was there at at Fox at the time flew it
- 24:17Speaker 1: and then before we had done one and she became
- 24:21Speaker 1: an ABC News reporter. Uh, and Kana wentworth and flew
- 24:25Speaker 1: it into the building, into the ceiling. All I could
- 24:28Speaker 1: say was there she goes. And that was it for
- 24:31Speaker 1: that drone. So this new one, the Anti gravity A one,
- 24:34Speaker 1: looked pretty good. And I was going to ask you, Sean,
- 24:36Speaker 1: if you had looked at this one yet, because I
- 24:38Speaker 1: know you like looking at this This is a great,
- 24:40Speaker 1: you know, kind of field for you. You love the
- 24:43Speaker 1: drone stuff. But it looks like it could be kind
- 24:45Speaker 1: of cool and not that pricey as well.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I have not looked at it. I knew it existed
- 24:51Speaker 3: because we had talked about it before when they announced
- 24:53Speaker 3: it isn't realized it was out yet.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Uh.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And it hasn't been out very long, right.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah. They said that they're going to be sending one
- 25:01Speaker 1: over so we can give it a flight.
- 25:04Speaker 3: And then yeah, yes, please, but this has a three
- 25:07Speaker 3: it's got a three sixty four K camera on it,
- 25:10Speaker 3: which was the top end round I remember, Yeah, yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 3: I do three sixty. Let's look at the specs, right, Uh,
- 25:17Speaker 3: it's it falls within with the flight battery falls under
- 25:20Speaker 3: the two or fifty grand weight limit, which is the
- 25:22Speaker 3: big one for a lot of places, because that prevents
- 25:24Speaker 3: you from having to register with the FAA, which I
- 25:26Speaker 3: think is a little ridiculous, but.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you don't have to go around.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Everybody's going to skirt around the regulations somehow because they
- 25:33Speaker 3: want to get into the hands of consumers.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Now, is the rich regulation for fa like if it's
- 25:37Speaker 1: above that weight classes that the one O seven or
- 25:39Speaker 1: is that only if you want to make money doing
- 25:41Speaker 1: it or you have to do both?
- 25:44Speaker 3: Right, you have to you have to register it at all,
- 25:47Speaker 3: Like anybody has to register their drone if it's over
- 25:49Speaker 3: two or fifty grams, right, So yeah, I'll have to
- 25:53Speaker 3: look at clarification on this, but that's my understanding.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I know, if you want to make money with a drone, like,
- 25:59Speaker 1: we've got some good guys out here that do some
- 26:01Speaker 1: great work real estate photography that kind of thing, even
- 26:04Speaker 1: weddings if you're if you're if you're a videographer and
- 26:08Speaker 1: they hire you for your wedding and you decide, oh,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna put a drowne up in the air, you
- 26:12Speaker 1: have to have a one o seven because you're you're
- 26:14Speaker 1: putting it in as a part of the package. Yeah,
- 26:17Speaker 1: So it looks like it.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Looks like, just from my quick greeting that the video
- 26:22Speaker 3: recording on this is actually their own proprietary video format
- 26:25Speaker 3: that you have to export through their anti amigret. Like
- 26:28Speaker 3: you can't natively take it right off the memory card
- 26:31Speaker 3: into your own editing platform.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Right, like you can with DJI, which is ye nice.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Before or an MLV, depends on how you have a
- 26:38Speaker 3: set up. But hm, I mean it looks cool and
- 26:43Speaker 3: it's not the FPV goggles. I mean they're all kind
- 26:46Speaker 3: of the same if you look at them from a
- 26:49Speaker 3: top like a wide view, right, they all fly, they
- 26:52Speaker 3: all take video, right, Which why is one better than
- 26:55Speaker 3: the other?
- 26:57Speaker 1: The three six stay idea.
- 26:59Speaker 3: It's not really to your experience and how easy it
- 27:01Speaker 3: is to use and reliability, customer satisfaction kind of stuff, right.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I would buy a dj I hands down, No, problem
- 27:10Speaker 3: because I've I've I've got multiple I've flown, I've flown
- 27:14Speaker 3: a bunch. I know they're gonna fly well. I know
- 27:16Speaker 3: the I know the UI, I know the software, I
- 27:18Speaker 3: know the hardware. I know I'm gonna get good quality
- 27:21Speaker 3: with it. It's like that's why I would buy a
- 27:23Speaker 3: GoPro again, right, because I know I'm going to get
- 27:25Speaker 3: good quality. So I can't go I don't think.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I don't think you could go wrong with GoPro if
- 27:30Speaker 1: you're looking for an action camera at all.
- 27:33Speaker 3: But again, I don't know anti gravity. The only thing
- 27:37Speaker 3: I can go based off is their their media coverage,
- 27:40Speaker 3: their influencer, their you know, the people that have gotten
- 27:43Speaker 3: them out and played with them and flown them. You've
- 27:45Speaker 3: flown it, so I mean it could be good hands
- 27:51Speaker 3: on them.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I really want to try this three sixty stuff, you know,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and see how that how that can be put into
- 27:58Speaker 1: an editing program, how you can generate something, you know.
- 28:01Speaker 1: The last video I did was for the the Control
- 28:08Speaker 1: Lined Model Club that flies their airplanes out here in Tucson,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and that was a blast. That was a lot of fun.
- 28:14Speaker 1: But this would give me even more capabilities, I think
- 28:17Speaker 1: in the editing process. So some people don't edit the video,
- 28:21Speaker 1: just keep it this whole under their video.
- 28:23Speaker 3: And yeah, I mean I'm not I have not been
- 28:27Speaker 3: a content creator for a long time, right, I don't
- 28:30Speaker 3: do a whole lot of content creation on my own anymore.
- 28:33Speaker 3: And so it's like I don't have a need for
- 28:34Speaker 3: a drone. I don't. So it's like I'm not the
- 28:37Speaker 3: right person to target for this kind of stuff right now.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I do like them, I do know a lot about them.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I just don't have a I don't have a need
- 28:44Speaker 3: for them. If I bought a drone, it'd be a
- 28:45Speaker 3: waste of my money.
- 28:46Speaker 1: The technology has come a long way. I remember my
- 28:49Speaker 1: Sun bought one and he brought it out here to
- 28:51Speaker 1: a park and he flew it. We got five minutes
- 28:54Speaker 1: flight time, So that's that's changed quite a bit. I
- 28:58Speaker 1: get a lot more flight time with the DJI product. Indeed,
- 29:02Speaker 1: that makes a great product. But we'll see what Anti
- 29:04Speaker 1: Gravity puts together, and hopefully we'll get one in our hands.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Then maybe after depending on Hong, we get to use it.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Maybe I could forward it over you and then you
- 29:11Speaker 1: could take a spin with it and you know, shoot
- 29:14Speaker 1: some video. It would be kind of cool. Also, we
- 29:17Speaker 1: got to question in I thought this would be perfect
- 29:19Speaker 1: for you. Art sent me a note the other day
- 29:23Speaker 1: and he wants to know the best place to buy
- 29:25Speaker 1: a Mac and he said, Costco, best Buy. Where should
- 29:31Speaker 1: I go? And I thought about it. I said, I don't.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I don't have a back.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Three places right, Three places right, Apple Direct? Okay, that's
- 29:41Speaker 3: by Costco.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Those three are are good Apple.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I would buy it from Apple first, Costco, second, best Buy,
- 29:48Speaker 3: third right, Apple Direct because you're just dealing with Apple directly.
- 29:54Speaker 3: There's no middleman, right Costco because you're protected by all
- 29:58Speaker 3: their awesome benefits as a member of Costco mm hm.
- 30:01Speaker 3: And they have great deals on Max and macmini's and stuff,
- 30:05Speaker 3: and you can go in and see them on display,
- 30:08Speaker 3: just like you can't at the Apple store. Best Buy
- 30:11Speaker 3: has been always been great, and Caitlin's bought hers there before.
- 30:14Speaker 3: They have a great display set up there. You're not
- 30:16Speaker 3: gonna go wrong. I would avoid buying him on Amazon
- 30:19Speaker 3: or other third party retailers online, though those three I
- 30:22Speaker 3: would I would buy them from there, no problem Apple,
- 30:25Speaker 3: Like I said, Apple, Costco, then best Buy. If you
- 30:28Speaker 3: want it right now, Costco, you can walk out of
- 30:33Speaker 3: the store with it.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You can walk Yeah, that's true. They have it ready
- 30:35Speaker 1: to go.
- 30:36Speaker 3: You can do that at Apple too, but if you
- 30:37Speaker 3: do it on Apple's website, you can order it and
- 30:40Speaker 3: have it shipped to you. It's easier that way if
- 30:42Speaker 3: you want to do it that way.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Now he has a MacBook, he has a MacBook Pro,
- 30:47Speaker 1: and that's his wife wants. This is going to be
- 30:49Speaker 1: a gift for his wife. So with a MacBook Pro,
- 30:53Speaker 1: I don't think you should go with MacBook Air. Get
- 30:55Speaker 1: her what you have if that's what she wants.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Oh, hold on, So don't discount them. The mac Airs,
- 31:01Speaker 3: MacBook Airs, they're all. They're great. Right, If you get
- 31:03Speaker 3: an M four Macair, it's gonna blow a early M
- 31:08Speaker 3: one MacBook Pro or MacBook Pro M two out of
- 31:12Speaker 3: the water.
- 31:13Speaker 1: A little better.
- 31:14Speaker 3: The M four chips great M five chips are even better.
- 31:17Speaker 3: But like the leaps, the leaps from the M one
- 31:20Speaker 3: chip to the M four chips have been significant, hm
- 31:23Speaker 3: like like, way better than any other jump in any
- 31:26Speaker 3: Intel version or rise in version. Like the leaps from
- 31:30Speaker 3: the M chips have been fantastic, like if she's not
- 31:33Speaker 3: doing any gaming, hard pressed to believe she's gonna be
- 31:36Speaker 3: doing any hardcore gaming. But if she's just web browsing,
- 31:40Speaker 3: surfing the web, Netflix, whatever, a Mac Air, it's gonna
- 31:45Speaker 3: be lighter, it's gonna have great battery life, it's gonna
- 31:48Speaker 3: be slimmer, it's gonna be you know, you can get.
- 31:51Speaker 3: It's just gonna be a better form fit form factor wise.
- 31:55Speaker 1: So if somebody is looking, then if they're looking at
- 31:58Speaker 1: a MacBook Air, what would be the kind of top
- 32:01Speaker 1: spot for that with the with the M five Do
- 32:04Speaker 1: they have an M five?
- 32:05Speaker 3: I don't know if the M five MacBook Air exists yet,
- 32:08Speaker 3: the M four does. Just take a look, I'm curious.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Now it's to Apple's website.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Look look, yeah, he is us. She has used his
- 32:15Speaker 1: MacBook Pro, and that MacBook Pro is going to be
- 32:17Speaker 1: about two or three years old, I believe. So this
- 32:21Speaker 1: would be a good reason maybe then to look at
- 32:23Speaker 1: the MacBook Air. And she's she's more mobile, so that
- 32:27Speaker 1: would also be another idea. Right there, it's it's going
- 32:31Speaker 1: to buy.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Also, you have you have two options of thirteen inch
- 32:34Speaker 3: and a fifteen inch, right, M four and so it's the
- 32:38Speaker 3: M four, So there's no M five mac anything. I
- 32:40Speaker 3: don't think right now. So let's say you wanted so
- 32:46Speaker 3: the thirteen inch, you can get him starting at nine nine.
- 32:50Speaker 1: That's good. Yeah, if you want.
- 32:52Speaker 3: A fifteen inch, they start at eleven.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And software software for both they are going to be
- 32:58Speaker 1: the same. Right for the MacBook.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Pro would be back OS twenty six, Tahoe, Right, but
- 33:04Speaker 3: depending on how old his back book is. All right,
- 33:07Speaker 3: any well, any any m Chip series will be We'll
- 33:09Speaker 3: still support Tahoe. I think do you recommend how it
- 33:13Speaker 3: might be the last version that doesn't support Intel?
- 33:16Speaker 1: Oh, now do you do you recommend somebody buying an
- 33:20Speaker 1: extended warranty whether they buy it from Apple, Apple.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Apple Care, apple Care, apple Care, apple Care every time,
- 33:26Speaker 3: all the time, apple Care.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Get Apple kind of.
- 33:28Speaker 3: So here's a good safety teep tip for everybody. You
- 33:31Speaker 3: can probably hear in the background right now. The beeppt bepepp.
- 33:34Speaker 3: It's the weekly test for my weather alert radio. So
- 33:37Speaker 3: if you're in an area that gets your weather, buy
- 33:40Speaker 3: yourself a Noah weather radio. It does a weekly test,
- 33:42Speaker 3: it gives you provides alerts. So if you're hearing that
- 33:44Speaker 3: in the background.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, weekly test, all right, cool? Cool, all right, So
- 33:47Speaker 1: it's a good safety note there. I like that Noah radio.
- 33:51Speaker 1: That's a good one, all right, So definitely apple Care,
- 33:54Speaker 1: you get it.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, so so cool. Cool thing too is like I
- 33:57Speaker 3: think this just came out earlier this year, earlier, earlier,
- 34:00Speaker 3: twenty whatever year.
- 34:02Speaker 1: This is.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You can bundle your Apple Care devices under one Apple ID.
- 34:09Speaker 3: So Apple Care costs me twenty nine ninety ninety a month,
- 34:13Speaker 3: but it covers my watch, it covers my phone, it
- 34:16Speaker 3: covers my Mac, my m for Mac Minie, all under
- 34:20Speaker 3: the same Apple Care. So I don't have to have
- 34:22Speaker 3: an apple Care for an apple Care subscription for that,
- 34:25Speaker 3: an apple Care subscription for my watch, an apple Care
- 34:27Speaker 3: subscription for my phone. It's called apple Care one. It's
- 34:31Speaker 3: I think it's up to four devices that require apple
- 34:34Speaker 3: Care or that are able eligible for apple Care for
- 34:37Speaker 3: one subscription cost which is great.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Now another for my phone.
- 34:42Speaker 3: I was paying for my watch and I didn't I
- 34:44Speaker 3: didn't want to pay for the m Form Macvinie that
- 34:46Speaker 3: I got, but it was eligible. And then I realized
- 34:49Speaker 3: I could do this. I would. Here's what I figured
- 34:52Speaker 3: it out. When I upgraded to the Tahoe Beta and
- 34:55Speaker 3: screwed up my phone. It went to the Apple store,
- 34:59Speaker 3: and because as I'm good about doing my backups, like
- 35:01Speaker 3: they were like, oh you can now you have Apple Care,
- 35:04Speaker 3: it'll all help. We can replace your battery for apple Care. Oh,
- 35:07Speaker 3: by the way, today we're like the day I went in,
- 35:10Speaker 3: they launched this Apple one, apple Care one or whatever
- 35:13Speaker 3: it's called. So look at if you have multiple devices,
- 35:18Speaker 3: it's per Apple ID. So it's like the devices that
- 35:21Speaker 3: are registered under my Apple ID are eligible. Kaitlin and
- 35:24Speaker 3: I would have to have her own, et cetera. So
- 35:27Speaker 3: but makes it cheap. It's cheaper and then I have
- 35:29Speaker 3: more devices protected for the same cost.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Here's a good reason apple Care is such a good idea.
- 35:34Speaker 1: If if you have something under AppleCare, and you have
- 35:37Speaker 1: an iPhone and you drop it and you know, we
- 35:40Speaker 1: got all like great cases, you know, whether you're get
- 35:42Speaker 1: in an outer box or whatever, you drop it and
- 35:45Speaker 1: there the screen cracks. I've seen people who.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Have just really want to remember what happened with my phone? Right, yeah,
- 35:51Speaker 3: the day the day I got it, I didn't have
- 35:54Speaker 3: a case yet because it hadn't come hadn't come in
- 35:57Speaker 3: the mail. Oh no, set it on the edge of
- 35:59Speaker 3: the bathroom sink. It work and it slipped off and
- 36:02Speaker 3: hit the tile on the floor and shattered the bad glass.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I hadn't had it twelve hours and it was the
- 36:10Speaker 3: day it was like four days after released. So I
- 36:13Speaker 3: took it back and this caused a whole kerfluffle with
- 36:15Speaker 3: my SIM card, right because I had actual physical sin
- 36:18Speaker 3: in it. Because it was so new, they didn't have
- 36:21Speaker 3: any repaired, repair able parts for them yet, right, so
- 36:25Speaker 3: they had to give me a whole new phone like
- 36:28Speaker 3: two days after it.
- 36:28Speaker 1: But if you didn't have Apple Care, you would oh.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I would have had to buy a ho new phone.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Wow, that's crazy.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Or pay or pay because if they didn't have the
- 36:36Speaker 3: reparable parts then I was waiting. I'd have to ship
- 36:39Speaker 3: it in. Because I had Apple Care, they were just like, yeah,
- 36:42Speaker 3: well here's the new phone. Here you go. I was
- 36:44Speaker 3: in and out in less than twenty minutes with a
- 36:46Speaker 3: new phone because Apple Care.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Right now, I'm kind of wondering, have you ever tried
- 36:51Speaker 1: the I Fix It kits on devices? Because I Fix
- 36:55Speaker 1: It Will Will, We'll do kits if you break your
- 36:59Speaker 1: phone and it's not warranty that you can do stuff.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I got one for my iPad. It's still sitting there.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I've never used it.
- 37:07Speaker 3: I've replaced screens. So when I worked at Fox, we
- 37:11Speaker 3: had Apple phones for all the reporters. So you can
- 37:15Speaker 3: only imagine they're not gentle with equipment, and they're out
- 37:17Speaker 3: on the street all the time. They're on the road,
- 37:19Speaker 3: they're traveling there, they're beating stuff up. We had a
- 37:22Speaker 3: steady stream of I Fix it screens coming in for
- 37:25Speaker 3: phones in my free time, which I didn't have much.
- 37:29Speaker 3: It was please replace the screen.
- 37:31Speaker 1: There you go.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Now, that was before they that was the all aluminum backs,
- 37:34Speaker 3: before they had glass on the front and the back.
- 37:36Speaker 3: I don't know if I would risk trying to do
- 37:38Speaker 3: a phone now right, but I have repaired old, older
- 37:41Speaker 3: screens on phones from like an iPhone four and iPhone
- 37:45Speaker 3: six whenever they stopped, whenever they before they started doing
- 37:47Speaker 3: the back glass on the phones.
- 37:49Speaker 1: All right, we'll tell you what we got to take
- 37:50Speaker 1: a quick break. We come back. We'll talk more tech
- 37:53Speaker 1: with tech talk Radio. Make sure you check us out
- 37:56Speaker 1: on our YouTube page. Subscribe if you will at tech
- 38:00Speaker 1: talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Seanda Word.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Find us all the web tech talk radio dot com.
- 38:05Speaker 1: We'll be now back to tech talk Radio. So you
- 38:09Speaker 1: can imagine that you order something you know from when
- 38:14Speaker 1: you know, buy something you know on eBay, you get
- 38:17Speaker 1: it in you're just hoping it's what it says it
- 38:20Speaker 1: was going to be. But you can imagine if we're
- 38:22Speaker 1: buying something from a big box store, you can go
- 38:25Speaker 1: online to their websites and have something shipped to you.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And there was a story on Reddit recently about somebody
- 38:32Speaker 1: that had purchased a high end graphics card and when
- 38:37Speaker 1: they got that high end graphics card shipped to them
- 38:41Speaker 1: via best Buy, they went to open it up and
- 38:46Speaker 1: instead of that graphics card, there were four rocks, four
- 38:51Speaker 1: rocks actually stone rocks there that were in place of
- 38:54Speaker 1: that graphics card. And again he ordered it from best Buy,
- 38:59Speaker 1: so he kind of has gone through the process saying, hey,
- 39:02Speaker 1: you know, I kept this box was full of rocks apparently,
- 39:05Speaker 1: and again we're going based on a Reddit post. But
- 39:09Speaker 1: then after some time he kept waiting for them to,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you know, take care of this, he got a note
- 39:15Speaker 1: saying they will not be replacing or refunding his twelve
- 39:17Speaker 1: hundred dollars purchase after their investigation because there's no real
- 39:22Speaker 1: proof to say that, well, we shipped you this and
- 39:25Speaker 1: you open it up and know that there were rocks
- 39:28Speaker 1: in it. So which leads to a really good point.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I mean number one, that's that's shady as it is.
- 39:34Speaker 1: But whatever you're buying, when you're buying something on eBay,
- 39:39Speaker 1: you're buying something on Amazon, you're buying something on best Buy,
- 39:43Speaker 1: or any of the microcenter, whatever you're having good shipped to,
- 39:46Speaker 1: you go ahead and set up opening it out of
- 39:51Speaker 1: the package, a video do it. It's just for your safety,
- 39:55Speaker 1: opening the package, taking it out, opening the box, show
- 39:59Speaker 1: the label on the video. Member it's just for you,
- 40:02Speaker 1: and opening it up, taking it out and showing what
- 40:07Speaker 1: it is. Because if you imagine if this person had
- 40:09Speaker 1: videoed them the pay here's the package, it's sealed. Look
- 40:13Speaker 1: at it's got my name on it. Open it up,
- 40:15Speaker 1: Open it up, open up. There's rocks. There's no they're
- 40:19Speaker 1: really very very hard to deny that that's what this
- 40:22Speaker 1: guy got. But now he he he has no recourse
- 40:26Speaker 1: in this case. I'm sure he does legally he will
- 40:29Speaker 1: probably follow through.
- 40:30Speaker 3: I mean I would, yeah, I mean, you've you're seeing
- 40:34Speaker 3: more and more of this, and it's not just best Buy.
- 40:37Speaker 3: It's pretty pretty blatant on Amazon also, right, Yeah, somebody
- 40:41Speaker 3: buys it ten whatever, A fifty ninety buys it, opens
- 40:47Speaker 3: it up, carefully, reseals it, returns it, says I don't
- 40:50Speaker 3: want it because they put up there, but they're keeping
- 40:52Speaker 3: the original setting back rocks. Amazon brings it back and
- 40:57Speaker 3: sees it. It's sealed. I'm sure it's not even touching
- 40:59Speaker 3: a human being. I'm sure it's just getting scanned by
- 41:01Speaker 3: a bot and it gets kicked right back into the
- 41:04Speaker 3: system's good inventory.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're buying that in some cases, and.
- 41:09Speaker 3: That's you've you've been seeing more and more of that.
- 41:13Speaker 3: I mean, obviously the Internet has made it so there's
- 41:16Speaker 3: a lot more content available, a lot more people are
- 41:19Speaker 3: available to show you the stuff that they get. But yeah,
- 41:22Speaker 3: like people are videotaping themselves opening content or opening it
- 41:27Speaker 3: at stores like FedEx and UPS have been having issues
- 41:31Speaker 3: with damaged product or a missing product or you know,
- 41:34Speaker 3: somebody from UPS knows you're a reseller and they open
- 41:37Speaker 3: your package and take it or fed X.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Unfortunately, so a.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Lot of resellers or I don't want to say scalpers,
- 41:45Speaker 3: but that's kind of where it's at, are now opening
- 41:48Speaker 3: their packages in front of a up an employee. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:52Speaker 3: and saying this isn't this isn't right, or it's damaged
- 41:55Speaker 3: or whatever. That way, it doesn't leave the store.
- 41:59Speaker 1: That's when the downsides. Downsides having stuff shipped out to you.
- 42:02Speaker 1: You're always hoping it's gonna be. You know what you ordered,
- 42:06Speaker 1: and this could be. You know, a way to save yourself,
- 42:09Speaker 1: to protect yourself, don't do still photos. Do a straight
- 42:13Speaker 1: video from start to finish, and honestly, if there's nobody
- 42:18Speaker 1: that'll hold your camera for you. There are tripods that
- 42:23Speaker 1: are out there on the market, very inexpensive. You can
- 42:25Speaker 1: find those, go in and buy them at the store.
- 42:28Speaker 1: But you can find those. Just snap the video in
- 42:31Speaker 1: there and hit the video, but hit your camera and
- 42:33Speaker 1: hit the button. Belkin makes that one. I like that
- 42:37Speaker 1: actually moves with you, and that's just a good way
- 42:39Speaker 1: to just capture it. You know, it's just having that
- 42:42Speaker 1: little piece of evidence on there. There was also something
- 42:46Speaker 1: as Sean, I want to get your thoughts on this too.
- 42:49Speaker 1: We've talked before about VPNs. You know, there are many
- 42:52Speaker 1: different out there. Nord has one, Semantic has one, Bundled
- 42:56Speaker 1: Malwarebytes has one. I believe that's that's bundled. But the
- 43:01Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Securities SISA. We've had Mike Lettman on
- 43:04Speaker 1: before from SESA. They're a government agency which would handle
- 43:09Speaker 1: basically the cyber infrastructure.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Uh.
- 43:11Speaker 1: They're telling people, and they're reminding people, especially during the holidays,
- 43:14Speaker 1: now stay away from the free VPNs because there we're
- 43:19Speaker 1: seeing more and more of the free VPNs that are
- 43:21Speaker 1: out there, and that they're saying that this could put
- 43:26Speaker 1: you know, harmful apps on your devices, and this is dangerous.
- 43:31Speaker 1: So if you want something that's going to protect you,
- 43:36Speaker 1: spend the money on it.
- 43:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Let's say say this again.
- 43:41Speaker 3: It's the age old the adage that says, if it's free,
- 43:45Speaker 3: you're the product, right, since they're your data and doing
- 43:48Speaker 3: some with it. Yeah, with a VPN, it's your data.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Like it's like you don't want that data just going
- 43:54Speaker 3: out there.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Now. Virtual VPN stands for virtual private networks. So what
- 43:57Speaker 1: that happens is some people have said, well, you've talked
- 44:00Speaker 1: about this before. I talked about it on our Fox segment.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Where you know you're going you're sitting in a coffee shop, UH,
- 44:06Speaker 1: and you are decided you want to do some shopping
- 44:09Speaker 1: while you're online, Uh, enjoying your your latte or whatever.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Doing that just on a public Wi Fi is just
- 44:17Speaker 1: not good. So what you want to do is is,
- 44:20Speaker 1: you know, get a VPN virtual private network, so it
- 44:24Speaker 1: encrypts your information from your point of origin and decrypts
- 44:30Speaker 1: it on the on the connection side. So what happens
- 44:34Speaker 1: is all that the encryption that's going on with a
- 44:36Speaker 1: VPN then protects your information. Uh. And that's why having
- 44:41Speaker 1: the VPN is is a good idea. But again, don't
- 44:45Speaker 1: fall for the cheap ones. Maybe get one. Do you
- 44:48Speaker 1: have a preference? I mean I.
- 44:51Speaker 3: If I need one, I use the mallorbytes one because
- 44:54Speaker 3: it's included to do with my plan, my route, my
- 44:58Speaker 3: my netgear router has one built in. If I wanted
- 45:01Speaker 3: to enable.
- 45:01Speaker 1: US, I could link says, I think it has one.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Just open VPN, I think is what it is that
- 45:05Speaker 3: your your your big vendors have them, Nord right, cloud Flare.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I wouldn't use call cloud flair. They've been down too
- 45:14Speaker 3: much lately for Yeah, yeah, but Nord Semantic. But again
- 45:21Speaker 3: avoid the free ones, right because there's a million free
- 45:24Speaker 3: ones out there and they all want the same thing
- 45:26Speaker 3: your data.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, one of the I'm gonna talk about
- 45:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna mention this one of the benefits of the
- 45:31Speaker 1: VPN is and I don't know if this is if
- 45:35Speaker 1: this is legal, but like, uh, I remember years ago
- 45:39Speaker 1: there was a documentary about Gordon Lightfoot, you know, the
- 45:41Speaker 1: guy who's saying sundown and you know, good musician, not
- 45:45Speaker 1: the direction.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I thought this was going to.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Well, Gordon's by this. This the great film, this biography
- 45:55Speaker 1: they put together because he was Canadian, so they aired
- 45:58Speaker 1: it in Canada on the Canadian Television Network and I
- 46:01Speaker 1: just said I wanted to see it. It wasn't available here,
- 46:05Speaker 1: so I went ahead and fired up the VPN connected
- 46:08Speaker 1: to a Canadian server and I was able to watch
- 46:10Speaker 1: it there. And that's you know, one of the benefits too.
- 46:13Speaker 1: You know, TV gardens has changed a lot of that
- 46:15Speaker 1: for many people, but this is kind of a neat
- 46:19Speaker 1: that's kind of a neat way too, to be able
- 46:21Speaker 1: to experience something in a different origin.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So there are a lot of people who use VPNs
- 46:27Speaker 3: to watch specific content on Netflix or Disney Plus or
- 46:31Speaker 3: things like that. Because it's regional locked, right, so licensing
- 46:34Speaker 3: agreements say this film can only be viewed in these
- 46:37Speaker 3: countries or YouTube example, like some YouTube countries. Some this
- 46:41Speaker 3: all has to do with copyright law and viewership morality
- 46:46Speaker 3: laws or whatever. Whatever your country says you can't can't watch, right,
- 46:51Speaker 3: it's not available in another country based on those laws. Right, So,
- 46:54Speaker 3: if you wanted to watch something from Germany or you know, England,
- 47:01Speaker 3: the UK, Spain, or or if you're in the UK,
- 47:04Speaker 3: you want to watch it in the US, just have
- 47:06Speaker 3: to point you just have to point your VPN to
- 47:09Speaker 3: a server that originates in the US. Therefore, when your
- 47:13Speaker 3: data comes out of the VPN, it thinks you're in
- 47:16Speaker 3: the US. Run how that works until the VPN works.
- 47:19Speaker 3: So then therefore your your home country is where your
- 47:22Speaker 3: VPN resides.
- 47:23Speaker 1: If you're traveling, is it smart to use the via VPN? Oh,
- 47:28Speaker 1: you can be yeah, yeah.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Because otherwise otherwise, if you're connecting to an Internet provider
- 47:32Speaker 3: here in the US via free Wi Fi, you're connecting
- 47:35Speaker 3: to US based servers, right, So if you're traveling from
- 47:40Speaker 3: the UK, for example, and you want to watch your
- 47:42Speaker 3: UK content, you're not you might not be able to
- 47:44Speaker 3: it all. Like again, it's it's so specific to every
- 47:48Speaker 3: person who's trying to watch whatever like you could be
- 47:52Speaker 3: watching one piece of content that may or may not
- 47:53Speaker 3: be available. It might be available in Canada, it might
- 47:57Speaker 3: not be available in the US, but it might be
- 47:59Speaker 3: available in the UK. There's weird. It's gets it gets
- 48:03Speaker 3: really weird and kind of trippy on how you have
- 48:06Speaker 3: to handle where you're watching your media because of different
- 48:09Speaker 3: laws for every country. So VPNs allow you to do that.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll get some comments on our and our video
- 48:17Speaker 1: here about which VPN you like to use and which
- 48:19Speaker 1: one has worked the best for you.
- 48:21Speaker 3: And VPNs, like Aighties said earlier in Crypto traffic, right,
- 48:25Speaker 3: so your internet provider doesn't know what you were watching
- 48:30Speaker 3: or doing, right, because it's encrypted from point to point
- 48:34Speaker 3: and back from the VPN provider to you. So it's
- 48:38Speaker 3: to protect you.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, all right, this is kind of a this
- 48:43Speaker 1: is kind of a cool thing. I told you about it.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I was going to do it. I was thinking about it.
- 48:48Speaker 1: You know. I had moved away from app Adobe because
- 48:52Speaker 1: it was not very happy with the fact that I
- 48:54Speaker 1: had to pay to use a Cloud Pro subscription because
- 48:58Speaker 1: I had the Creative Suite and I couldn't get it
- 49:00Speaker 1: installed anymore. And on Black Friday, and we didn't do
- 49:05Speaker 1: a show last week. I didn't get a chance to
- 49:08Speaker 1: tell you. I went ahead and I jumped in. I said,
- 49:10Speaker 1: you know what I talked to working about it, and
- 49:12Speaker 1: I said, it's thirty nine dollars a month for a
- 49:14Speaker 1: year and then it'll go up to seventy nine. And
- 49:17Speaker 1: her thoughts were, go ahead and do it if you
- 49:19Speaker 1: think it can you know, benefit your workflow, it can
- 49:23Speaker 1: help you out. And I thought, yeah, I want to
- 49:24Speaker 1: give it a shot. And a lot has changed since five',
- 49:28Speaker 1: five which is WHAT i used to what they're doing
- 49:30Speaker 1: now With Premiere, pro AND i got the Full Cloud pro,
- 49:34Speaker 1: suite So i've Got premiere Dream. Weaver YES i still
- 49:38Speaker 1: DO html website, stuff BUT i got all of this Light, Room,
- 49:44Speaker 1: firefly AND i got to tell You I've i've. Dumped
- 49:47Speaker 1: i've jumped more Into photoshop and doing stuff with the
- 49:52Speaker 1: tools that are part Of. Photoshop it is absolutely mind.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Blowing it is amazing what you could do now versus
- 50:00Speaker 1: WHAT i could do With AND i was pretty good
- 50:02Speaker 1: With photoshop with the original five to, five AND i
- 50:05Speaker 1: still Have, photoshop you, know the older, Version but WHEN
- 50:09Speaker 1: i compare, them the tools to make stuff, happen like
- 50:12Speaker 1: the brush. Tool remove this. Change this is just absolutely worth.
- 50:18Speaker 1: It and you, Know i'm STILL i still Have Da
- 50:22Speaker 1: vinci AND i still use. IT i matter of, FACT
- 50:24Speaker 1: i still did a video at it the other day
- 50:26Speaker 1: THAT i. NEEDED i still am, using you know, what
- 50:32Speaker 1: an audacity and still using pro tools for. Audio But
- 50:36Speaker 1: i'm starting to kind of move a little more towards
- 50:39Speaker 1: audition because it just is got the extra tools in
- 50:42Speaker 1: it to make stuff. Happen BUT i took photos And
- 50:46Speaker 1: i've been. Working there's a photo with me and A
- 50:48Speaker 1: Sevestis stallone that was taken at a film festival In Palm,
- 50:52Speaker 1: springs and, unfortunately When gloria took the, photo it was
- 50:56Speaker 1: kind of bright and a flash and it kind of you,
- 50:59Speaker 1: know put a lot of light on our, faces, right
- 51:02Speaker 1: and it WAS i was always like disappointed because you
- 51:06Speaker 1: could tell it's it's me and And, stallone but it
- 51:08Speaker 1: just looked washed. Out SO i started working With photoshop
- 51:13Speaker 1: with this photo AND i started adjusting and then highlighting
- 51:19Speaker 1: his face and all, that AND i did that AND
- 51:21Speaker 1: i cleaned up a couple of. Things THEN i, thought,
- 51:23Speaker 1: well fireflies a part of this With Nano, banano So
- 51:26Speaker 1: i'm gonna go ahead and let's do a generative and
- 51:28Speaker 1: see if it can clean it. UP i got to tell,
- 51:31Speaker 1: you it's. Amazing it looks like that photo was taken,
- 51:34Speaker 1: perfectly no, issues and matter of, Fact i'll put it
- 51:37Speaker 1: up in our. Blog but it's it came out really.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Good colorized a photo with me and my mom WHEN
- 51:44Speaker 1: i was a, baby took a photo Of gloria that
- 51:47Speaker 1: was completely just spotted because over overtime photos, degrade and
- 51:53Speaker 1: completely cleaned it. Up so Now i'm telling all my,
- 51:55Speaker 1: friends if there's listeners you need a photo, redone send
- 51:59Speaker 1: it to. ME i want. TO i want to do
- 52:00Speaker 1: more of, these just to keep them.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Going, yeah there's a there's actually a great subreddit called photoshop.
- 52:07Speaker 3: Requests oh, yes if you want a requests Like i'm
- 52:12Speaker 3: Not i'm not going to photoshop AND i and THE
- 52:15Speaker 3: ai stuff like THAT'S i don't. Care that's. Stuff so Like.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Caitlin's When kaitlyn's grandma, passed she wanted a specific picture
- 52:22Speaker 3: of her on a black, background and it wanted to
- 52:24Speaker 3: be cut out of the specific. Picture SO i just
- 52:27Speaker 3: put it up there On photoshop requests and paid someventy five.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Bucks there you go to to completely clean it, up
- 52:33Speaker 3: and it took fifteen minutes for somebody to do.
- 52:36Speaker 1: It it's a blown.
- 52:38Speaker 3: AWAY i was blown away at how cool it. Was
- 52:40Speaker 3: And i'm sure they used the same tools and good for,
- 52:42Speaker 3: them but that's not something that's not a skill THAT
- 52:44Speaker 3: i really need to. Foster And I'm i'm sure with
- 52:47Speaker 3: THE ai stuff it's probably really, easy but Again i'm
