Transcript
- 0:00Coming up, if we post anything vaguely paranormal,
- 0:02people will comment in drones. I'm sorry. I'm
- 0:06sorry. So sorry. Sorry. I claim no negativity
- 0:09from this TikTok. I'm sorry. All right, welcome
- 0:12back to part two of our episode talking about
- 0:15if paranormal entities can come through your
- 0:18screen when you watch paranormal content. Did
- 0:21you guys have a good week? Probably. I don't
- 0:26remember most of it. Yeah. What a week. I mean,
- 0:31the last seven days since we last spoke have
- 0:34been very, very intense. A lot has happened.
- 0:40It's been like five minutes for us, so I don't
- 0:43know what we're talking about. Yeah, I don't
- 0:44know why you're trying to like... I thought you
- 0:47were just trying to connect to the listeners.
- 0:51Why would I connect to the listeners? This is
- 0:53pre -recorded. They are listening. Good analogy
- 0:58for what we're talking about. They are listening
- 1:00to a pre -recorded message. I have no effect
- 1:04on them in the real world. Just like if I were
- 1:07a ghost, I would not be. Someone's listening
- 1:09to our podcast in the car. They ask, so how's
- 1:12your week going? You ask that. And they're like,
- 1:14ah, it's going good so far. And just talk to
- 1:16themselves in the car during like a five -hour
- 1:19car ride or something. You never know. Do you
- 1:21do that? Do you talk back to your podcast? No,
- 1:25because they don't ever ask questions. Okay,
- 1:29but honestly, this is what I feel like ghosts
- 1:33are. When I was explaining intelligent hauntings
- 1:37to them, I don't believe in them. When you listen
- 1:39to a podcast and they say, how are you? And then
- 1:43you say, I'm good, how are you? They're not going
- 1:45to respond to you saying that back. Just like
- 1:47when you're... You know, it's not a two -way
- 1:50conversation with the podcast. That's why Intelligent
- 1:54Hauntings, I don't believe in them. I don't believe
- 1:58in the two -way communication. And also, like
- 2:00I said, if I were a ghost, I wouldn't be able
- 2:03to affect the listener listening to this right
- 2:05now because I am pre -recorded. That example
- 2:08is a really good example of why you don't believe
- 2:12in Intelligent Hauntings. That's a really good
- 2:15example, actually. Well, I'm glad we waited a
- 2:18whole week to finish that conversation. That's
- 2:21all I had, so. Oh, goodness gracious. Welcome
- 2:28to our podcast, where we take deep dives looking
- 2:30at various topics through a paranormal lens.
- 2:35We wanted to talk about as a separate topic,
- 2:38but we realized they were so similar. All the
- 2:42people. On TikTok, specifically on TikTok, that
- 2:46if you post anything vaguely paranormal related,
- 2:48you'll get comments saying, I'm sorry. So sorry.
- 2:51Sorry for looking in your eyes. Sorry for watching
- 2:53this video. I claim no negativity. I claim no
- 2:56negative energy. Amen. You need Jesus. I'm sorry.
- 3:00Angela, you did the math, right? I did do the
- 3:03math. So we currently have, when this podcast
- 3:07is recorded, we currently have 93 posts. On TikTok.
- 3:15Out of those 93 posts, we have 65 sorries. So,
- 3:21the math means that, on average, I know it's
- 3:24not like on every video. And one of the posts,
- 3:26one of the posts, and it was one of the viral
- 3:29ones, but one of the posts has 22 sorries, making
- 3:35up more than half of the comments. More than
- 3:38half of that one video's comments. not counting
- 3:42the um you replying vaccine for what yeah yeah
- 3:46i do i yes i whenever someone says sorry i'm
- 3:49like what are you sorry for it took me like a
- 3:51long time to realize like it's why they're actually
- 3:54saying which we'll get into but you know the
- 3:56math speaks for itself over half of the comments
- 3:59on a viral video are saying sorry on average
- 4:03we get seven sorry comments per video So it really
- 4:09should have been seven the mystery of TikToks
- 4:12instead of the mystery of jocks because that's
- 4:14our average. We get seven. Every time we post
- 4:17on TikTok, seven strangers say, I'm sorry. That's
- 4:21a good post for our only November fans. Only
- 4:24November fans. Yeah. I mean, there are a lot
- 4:27of mysteries of TikTok. Yeah. But there's not
- 4:33like. sorry is on every single post no not every
- 4:36post but that's just the average that's what
- 4:38it would be you you you understand why initially
- 4:41i was like why are people apologizing what are
- 4:43they sorry for i mean i still don't even really
- 4:46get it i don't i do i do but i'm also like you
- 4:50can just scroll past it like you don't have like
- 4:54why because the thing is they feel like they
- 4:59need to say sorry for No, in this case, like,
- 5:04for haunted dolls, right? This is common with
- 5:06haunted dolls. If you post a haunted object,
- 5:08it'll say, I'm sorry for looking in your eyes.
- 5:11Pause. One second. What? Where are you getting
- 5:14seven sorries per post? That's the average. Mathematics.
- 5:19But there's only 65 sorry comments. There's only
- 5:2365 sorry comments. And 90... Exactly, so where's
- 5:26this math going? So that's not even an average
- 5:30one. Sorry for post. Yeah, so the kind of what
- 5:37we said last episode, the stupidity, does not
- 5:41transfer to the listeners. I like how it took
- 5:43us this long to be like, hang on, wait a minute.
- 5:47I guarantee zero listeners. Zero. Zero listeners.
- 5:52Until this very moment, even realize that. I
- 5:55guarantee - No, I guarantee you - I guarantee
- 5:58you people would have noticed. Everyone's going
- 5:59to re -notice that, Ben. It's just you. It took
- 6:02you guys that long! No one's listening! I had
- 6:05the same thought, but I didn't want to say anything.
- 6:08I thought I did good math. Well, maybe he just
- 6:11means that, like, most of them have, like, the
- 6:13viral ones have the most, uh, sorries on them,
- 6:17and it's usually around seven. So that was, that
- 6:20was my thinking in my brain that he had gotten
- 6:23that you had gotten that statistic from somewhere.
- 6:25Okay. But then I'm like, but that doesn't make
- 6:27sense to the actual statistics. No, I'll just,
- 6:30I'll never do math again. This is, this is a
- 6:32stupidity. Um, um, but no, no, no one listening
- 6:39was responding like in real time. Like that's
- 6:43not the real stat. You idiot. That's not happening.
- 6:46Huh? No one realized. I don't know. I mean, if
- 6:48I was listening to this podcast as a first time
- 6:51listener or like I wasn't, you know, involved
- 6:56in recording, I probably would be. Okay. So maybe
- 7:01we should just cut that because that's 10 seconds
- 7:03in. No, we're going to keep it in. Okay. We're
- 7:05keeping it in. No one's going to be a first time.
- 7:09I should just title this Don't Listen If You're
- 7:11a First Time Listener. Sorry, don't listen. Sorry,
- 7:15dot, dot, dot. Don't listen if you're the first
- 7:16time listening. That's a good title. Okay, post
- 7:20-recording Ben here. I was informed after the
- 7:23fact that it was actually 0 .7. percent that's
- 7:27the average i meant to say but i said seven instead
- 7:30of 0 .7 so it's just an issue of one decimal
- 7:34point one decimal point that i i messed up i
- 7:38admit i messed up but it was one decimal point
- 7:41it was not the end the freaking world but like
- 7:44i was saying for all the november fans they're
- 7:46allowed to listen um haunted dolls because they
- 7:51have eyes right they're vessels for and the minds
- 7:55of the people commenting demons right they're
- 7:57vessels for demons so if you look them in the
- 7:59eyes that's inviting them to i guess possess
- 8:02you through your screen so they have to say sorry
- 8:04for looking in your eyes to tell a demon they
- 8:08didn't mean to don't possess me i'm so sorry
- 8:11i stumbled upon this i wasn't intentionally opening
- 8:14this door type of thing am i explaining that
- 8:16good yes yeah absolutely and it's but also at
- 8:20the same time i'm like where did this idea stem
- 8:23from of like you have to say yes sorry this was
- 8:28not a thing no it's like a long time to reiterate
- 8:32for everyone that's not on tiktok that's listening
- 8:34there is a thing on tiktok and only tiktok where
- 8:37if you post anything vaguely paranormal especially
- 8:39if there's a doll or anything But even if it's
- 8:43remotely, vaguely paranormal, people will comment
- 8:46in drones. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So sorry. Sorry.
- 8:50I claim no negativity from this TikTok. I'm sorry.
- 8:55Yeah. I claim all negative. Yeah, you do. You
- 9:00do. You do. You also claim all sex rituals and
- 9:03Santa Clauses. Okay, don't include those in the
- 9:07same sentence. Well, no one's listening to this
- 9:15for the first time. People should be glad that
- 9:17I claim all the negative energy. Because, first
- 9:20of all, if I'm claiming all the negative energy,
- 9:22none of that negative energy is going to them.
- 9:25They should be happy about it. I'm saving them.
- 9:28True, but they're so sorry. Because then they
- 9:31come back next time and they say sorry. So to
- 9:35help articulate... what I would have just spent
- 9:3820 minutes rambling about next. I found a great
- 9:41TikTok by Paramoteej. I'm going to link the actual
- 9:46link to the video in the description. So everyone
- 9:48go follow her. Check out the actual video. Engage
- 9:51with her content. It's all really good stuff.
- 9:53But let's watch this TikTok together and discuss
- 9:57when we get back. When people apologize to random
- 10:00haunted dolls or even go as far to ask permission
- 10:03to scroll past a video, the deeper issue is not
- 10:06politeness or respect, it's authority. In many
- 10:09spiritual belief systems, power is relational.
- 10:12If you repeatedly position yourself as smaller,
- 10:14apologetic, or subordinate to something you have
- 10:17not wronged, you are symbolically handing over
- 10:20your own agency. Your belief in your energy shapes
- 10:23your experience. If you operate from the assumption
- 10:26that an unseen force has the right to judge your
- 10:28ordinary behavior, you are actually reinforcing
- 10:31a hierarchy where you are beneath that spirit.
- 10:34And that internal framing matters. Your mind
- 10:37and nervous system absorb that message. And over
- 10:39time, the habit of unnecessary apology can actually
- 10:42condition a stance of vulnerability rather than
- 10:45a grounded presence. Across spiritual traditions
- 10:48that acknowledge negative entities, there is
- 10:50a consistent theme. Strength and clarity act
- 10:53as protection. Fear and deference can function
- 10:56as openings for that spirit, not because something
- 10:58is lurking in every corner to get you, but because
- 11:01insecurity projects instability. If a person
- 11:04believes that some spirits can be harmful, then
- 11:07signaling uncertainty or submission could, within
- 11:09that worldview, be interpreted as a complete
- 11:11lack of boundaries. Having spiritual boundaries
- 11:15is not aggressive and it is not disrespectful.
- 11:18Having boundaries is about knowing that your
- 11:20space, your body, and your choices belong to
- 11:23you and only you. When someone asks a doll for
- 11:26permission to scroll past a video or apologizes
- 11:28to them, they're actually rehearsing the idea
- 11:31that they require approval for neutral actions.
- 11:34That rehearsal chips away at internal confidence,
- 11:37and the more that you externalize authority and
- 11:39place it on that spirit, the less anchored you
- 11:42are in your own position. there's also a psychological
- 11:45dimension repeatedly yielding power to something
- 11:47unseen strengthens the belief that you are at
- 11:50risk without appeasement that belief increases
- 11:53your fear response fear can heighten suggestion
- 11:55imagination and hyper vigilance what began as
- 11:59a small gesture of respect can grow into a pattern
- 12:02of perceived threat and paranoia when none was
- 12:04present If you believe spirits exist, the healthiest
- 12:07stance is steady self -possession. You do not
- 12:10challenge. You do not submit. You simply stand
- 12:13in your own authority and your own power. And
- 12:16if you don't believe, believing in yourself is
- 12:18still crucial. Either way, the principle holds.
- 12:21Do not practice surrender where it is unnecessary.
- 12:24Your power is not something to hand out casually,
- 12:27whether that be to a spirit or another person,
- 12:30especially not to an object on a screen. So there's
- 12:33a lie there. All good points. I thought I was
- 12:37I got a funny visual in my head of like when
- 12:39she was talking about like the very true statement
- 12:41that like religiously if it is a demon you need
- 12:44to just stand your ground and be firm, right?
- 12:48In the exorcist or any exorcism movies you don't
- 12:50see the exorcist saying with the crucifix. I'm
- 12:53so sorry demon. I'm sorry I have to do this.
- 12:54I'm so sorry. I claim no negativity. Please.
- 12:57Please rid of the demon. I'm so sorry. And then
- 13:00she started talking which we talked about like
- 13:03a shit ton last episode about fear and like it
- 13:07just the more you apologize and apologize and
- 13:10apologize you're prying yourself just to and
- 13:12making yourself fearful and that fear make yourself
- 13:16like a logical makes you vulnerable which we
- 13:19didn't even touch on if if you are so anxious
- 13:22and paranoid and scared that is making you vulnerable
- 13:26to potentially have experiences So, and like
- 13:34she was saying, and we said last time, you're
- 13:36psychologically in a space where you're paranoid
- 13:40and fearing everything. So you're going to maybe
- 13:44just not make up, but psychologically kind of
- 13:47have all these crazy thoughts and maybe perceive
- 13:52things as being paranormal when they aren't.
- 13:55And then tie it to that video because you said
- 13:57sorry and you are inserting yourself and your
- 13:59fears. it is a lot of great points and that's
- 14:03why i wanted to share it just because like obviously
- 14:05it's we could ramble for 10 hours about this
- 14:08but it was very articulate yeah yeah and then
- 14:12it becomes a whole chain reaction and then we
- 14:15get accused of like being demonic and worshiping
- 14:19satan and goes down that line and then they just
- 14:22blame us and then the rumor will spread and that
- 14:24we then somehow rumors terrible I'm just thinking
- 14:30about, like, a big chain reaction if any of that
- 14:33would actually happen. What are you talking about?
- 14:38There's rumors on the internet that Angela summons
- 14:42demons? No, I'm saying, like... And that she's
- 14:45satanic? No. Why are you worried about that?
- 14:50Stay up with it. Stay up with it. I'm saying...
- 14:56Okay, someone... They say sorry on our videos.
- 14:59They're more hyper aware. They're more scared.
- 15:01Something weird happens. They blame it on us.
- 15:04And then they go all weird and then go TikTok
- 15:07crazy and be like, these people caused me to
- 15:09have a demonic attachment. They're like satanic.
- 15:12They're demonic. They're terrible fucking people.
- 15:16That's happened? No, I'm thinking of the worst
- 15:19scenario. Stay with it, Ben. Stay with it. Is
- 15:24it harmful to us? No, it's not. But is it harmful
- 15:28to us at all if people say sorry? I don't think
- 15:31so. It's just weird. I think it could be doing
- 15:35them more harm if this is how they go about their
- 15:38daily lives, apologizing for no reason. Because
- 15:43they fear demonic attachment. Now, here's the
- 15:49thing. Brianna's frozen. Brianna! Come back.
- 15:57We lost Bree. Brianna, we know you're there.
- 16:01Come back to us. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
- 16:05It's all our fault. Oh, okay. I'm here. Be sideways.
- 16:16Why am I sideways? What? There we go. Okay. I
- 16:25don't know what's going on. It must be my internet.
- 16:27No, my internet stuff is fine. I don't know.
- 16:33Coincidence that the one time we start talking
- 16:36about ghosts in the machine possessing you. Is
- 16:42that the time that I'm having the worst interference
- 16:45or technical difficulties? Yeah, and we're having
- 16:50a lot more before starting recording too. affecting
- 16:55the the pod weird post recording ben here again
- 17:04the youtube watchers already know this because
- 17:06i put a little subtitle on the screen but brianna's
- 17:08audio also strangely cut out for about a two
- 17:12or three minute span earlier in the recording
- 17:14very odd i guess like a bigger side question
- 17:19too is like or kind of gripe of mine is like
- 17:22what do you even say to the people that are saying
- 17:26sorry like no way the sorry people even watch
- 17:28that tiktok like that's not something that's
- 17:30going to come on their feed and they're going
- 17:32to watch two minutes of it no chance in hell
- 17:34someone that watches a five second video that
- 17:37says sorry and lives in such paranoia and fear
- 17:39is going to listen to this episode they can't
- 17:42anyways because it's not for first -time listeners
- 17:44so what do we What do we do? Should we do anything?
- 17:49Do we have an obligation when we put out content
- 17:51like this to cater to these people at all? To
- 17:56have a response that's better than just for what?
- 18:01When they say sorry. I still think saying for
- 18:03what is hilarious. I think it is too. But I don't
- 18:08think we necessarily need to cater to them. the
- 18:15the beautiful thing about tick tock is if you
- 18:17don't like something you scroll past it you don't
- 18:22interact with it and you're not gonna see it
- 18:24again like that's how it works if you interact
- 18:27with a post if you like it you comment you share
- 18:30it whatever you're gonna get more of those same
- 18:33things on your feed and that's not the demon
- 18:36That's algorithms. It's an algorithm. So if you
- 18:39are interacting and you're actively putting a
- 18:43sorry comment on something that you didn't like
- 18:46seeing or you think is going to affect you because
- 18:49you saw it, you're going to keep seeing things
- 18:52like that. So stop doing it. If a five second
- 18:57video affects your mental state so much, you
- 18:59have to apologize for watching it. You're going
- 19:04to get more of it. So I would say, no, we don't
- 19:09need to cater to them. Would it be hilarious
- 19:11to continue saying, for what? Absolutely. And
- 19:15I think we still should. But also you can be
- 19:18like, hey, if you don't like this content, don't
- 19:22interact and it won't continue to pop up on your
- 19:25feed. Exactly. I do have a question. If on TikTok,
- 19:31it's the case of you don't need to cater to them.
- 19:35But then we put out a film and we put a disclaimer
- 19:38at the front. Is that not catering to the same
- 19:40people? Like, where does it become a case of,
- 19:43like... Because if you're putting out a film
- 19:46and, like, people go see it, like, in a... Say
- 19:50it's a theater or a theatrical release or you're
- 19:54going to someplace to see this film. They can't
- 19:58necessarily always get up and walk out. Yeah,
- 20:01if you're streaming it at home, you could turn
- 20:04it off. If you put a disclaimer at the front,
- 20:07like what's the solution? So if you put a disclaimer
- 20:09at the front of a film in a theater and two minutes
- 20:13in, you realize, oh, I'm not going to like this.
- 20:17Are you just expected to go to the box office,
- 20:20get your money back type of thing? I mean, I
- 20:24would think if I am going to see a movie and
- 20:29I don't know anything about it. i'm gonna read
- 20:34a description and maybe the description should
- 20:37have a disclaimer in it okay yeah so i guess
- 20:39context matters if it's something someone can
- 20:43easily swipe off of or even on youtube i guess
- 20:47like don't cater to people but kind of what we're
- 20:49joking about like film ratings before yeah there
- 20:53might be some truth to that of like if you're
- 20:55showing up in person to watch something or paying
- 20:58for something, there should be something clear
- 21:01at the get if it's not obvious in the... Because,
- 21:05like, disclaimer, like, strong language and depictions
- 21:09of ritualistic material. Right, because no one's
- 21:15talking about if you depict someone smoking on...
- 21:21In your film, they have to, they put that in.
- 21:23Yeah, that's something that they have to put.
- 21:24There's not a risk of secondhand smoke. No one's
- 21:27talking about like, what are the risks of secondhand
- 21:29smoke when you watch someone smoking through
- 21:31a TV screen? Yeah. You know, so, but let's say
- 21:35there were a lot of people on TikTok that thought
- 21:37that you could catch secondhand smoke and die
- 21:40from lung cancer just by watching through a screen.
- 21:43There might be people that put a disclaimer,
- 21:46you know, like we're saying, like, you know,
- 21:48before you buy, contain smoking. For that reason,
- 21:52maybe, but not, like, explicitly saying, because
- 21:54it can cater to all these weird fringe conspiracy
- 21:58theories. So just saying contains this solves
- 22:03all those problems. I mean, even if we go back
- 22:07to, like, the example of Paraschini, like, the
- 22:11Paraschini documentary, it is, yes. uh documentary
- 22:16mostly on the history of parashini and that is
- 22:19what a lot of people are interested in yes the
- 22:24film is about paranormal stuff but the film doesn't
- 22:27necessarily like the title doesn't necessarily
- 22:29say that so there may be people who are like
- 22:32oh a film on parashini that's super cool and
- 22:35not read anything about it and then be like oh
- 22:37there's ghost stuff in this i don't want to see
- 22:41any of that like do you even need a disclaimer
- 22:45that oh there's paranormal paranormal ghost hunting
- 22:49that's exactly what we said in the last episode
- 22:51about like there's going to be a line everywhere
- 22:53yeah and it just depends where the goal post
- 22:56is you can push it back or forward the description
- 22:59makes it clear yeah so i mean there's a title
- 23:03you think you think but then also someone washes
- 23:08something and then the trailer is very obvious
- 23:10so like if someone watches something where it's
- 23:13very clear in the description in the trailer
- 23:16i don't think i have any responsibility as a
- 23:20person that made it to yeah give them a refund
- 23:24for their yeah absolutely um but but yeah if
- 23:30the description like if you're trying to deceive
- 23:33someone or trick them into watching something
- 23:36paranormal by saying in the description this
- 23:39contains no paranormal investigation this is
- 23:42rated g there's swearing in the film so it's
- 23:45you know so like i wouldn't say like show your
- 23:47kids this is rated g there's no swearing no ghost
- 23:50nothing scary whatsoever that would be deception
- 23:52and lying and that that's a different case um
- 23:55but i think we're just talking about the same
- 23:58same thing again about like there should be some
- 24:01sort of without catering to people just kind
- 24:05of yeah content warning not in the film or whatever
- 24:09because i think that's cringy anyways there's
- 24:11like zach bagans warning this film was cursed
- 24:14no no yeah no no it's not but but if he said
- 24:18contains strong language and potentially frightening
- 24:21images of real rituals i don't know what's wrong
- 24:25with saying that yeah yeah contains sex magic
- 24:33none of that in piercini though that you know
- 24:36of What do you mean, dude? No, there is none
- 24:38of that in Parashini. Oh my god. I promise you
- 24:41guys, none of that. Anyways, if you haven't watched
- 24:45Parashini, Plague in the Pines, it is available
- 24:48currently on Paraflex. Yes. For your viewing.
- 24:53It is good. Warning. Contains swear words and
- 24:59paranormal. More people have been concerned about
- 25:02the swear words, Opry. Honestly, yeah. Sorry,
- 25:07I feel like we got off topic. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
- 25:11Sorry. I'm not claiming any negativity from this
- 25:19podcast recording. But do you claim any topic
- 25:23relevancy? Never claimed that I did. Wait, what's
- 25:30the apology? Huh? Ben, you make zero sense sometimes.
- 25:38There goes the brain cells. Listen, I make about
- 25:43seven stupid comments on average per episode.
- 25:47Only seven? On average. Makes sense. Are you
- 25:54sure it's not 27? There's still five inside of
- 25:58me. Any final comments about ghosts coming through
- 26:05screens and apologizing for watching demons?
- 26:10I don't know. No, I feel like we've really, really
- 26:16talked a lot. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
