- 0:27Speaker 2: with me as always is Daniel and Scott's Strongbeard Bowders.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Welcome to our post Halloween pre Thanksgiving. I think it's cold,
- 0:38Speaker 2: but I was wearing a tank top yesterday show. So
- 0:41Speaker 2: who knows what's going on? Global warming for the wind?
- 0:47Speaker 1: So I'm guessing New York is a lot like Michigan
- 0:48Speaker 1: when it comes to the weather.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. I was, yeah, so Halloween night, I was
- 0:54Speaker 2: walking around in shorts and then you know, you see
- 0:58Speaker 2: me right now?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Did you go trick or treat?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I did go trick or treating? I did. We did
- 1:04Speaker 2: a short amount of trick or treating, just for my
- 1:07Speaker 2: for my daughter's sake.
- 1:09Speaker 1: For those who can't, Dan's wearing a hoodie and he
- 1:14Speaker 1: looks cold.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's called it was called a layer of frost.
- 1:19Speaker 1: In the background, I can kind of hear that Sarah
- 1:21Speaker 1: McLaughlin song.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Oh yep, so we only did we trick or treated? Like,
- 1:31Speaker 2: oh man, it's like.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Just go to trecast dot Com in order some merch.
- 1:38Speaker 1: So maybe we can in order to get Dan some
- 1:41Speaker 1: some more winter clothes.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Dan can turn the heat on. So we only we
- 1:45Speaker 2: only went to like five houses for for trick or
- 1:48Speaker 2: treating because we had gone to uh, we'd gone to
- 1:51Speaker 2: like three different trunk or treats. We went to a
- 1:54Speaker 2: a party at the Karate school. We went to a
- 1:56Speaker 2: party at my daughter's school. And Halloween came and I
- 2:00Speaker 2: looked at the proton pack and I was like, I'm
- 2:02Speaker 2: not lugging that thing around the neighborhood. Yeah, so we're
- 2:10Speaker 2: all Halloween out. I took the I took the inflatables
- 2:13Speaker 2: out of the yard yesterday. They're on the back porch
- 2:16Speaker 2: drying out. And yeah, I'll be hanging Christmas lights before
- 2:21Speaker 2: you know it.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Danel, do you put that back up on the screen, Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 1: somebody from Yeah, can you read that?
- 2:27Speaker 3: A toasty's one hundred and twelve degrees for me here
- 2:30Speaker 3: in northwestern Australia. It's not even summer Australia.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and then Alejandra says, our environmental controls down in
- 2:39Speaker 3: the shuttle pod.
- 2:41Speaker 2: So here's the thing, Alejandro, environmental controls are not down. See,
- 2:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna turn them. They're down, like I turn them
- 2:47Speaker 2: down if I turn them up, you guys hear them
- 2:50Speaker 2: right right. So what I do. What I do when
- 2:53Speaker 2: I get ready for the show, I crank. I crank
- 2:56Speaker 2: these things up, and then as soon as I enter
- 2:58Speaker 2: the green room, I turn him down. This is the
- 3:02Speaker 2: sacrifice that I make for you, guys.
- 3:05Speaker 3: JSBA says, I wore my trek Cast T shirt and
- 3:07Speaker 3: chase kids with the jainsaw. That's exactly the kind of
- 3:10Speaker 3: viral marketing we want.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yes, So I wore I wore my trek Cast T
- 3:17Speaker 2: shirt to a barbecue over the summer and my my
- 3:22Speaker 2: brother's I guess she's my brother's niece. So my brother's
- 3:27Speaker 2: wife's sister's daughter. Yeah, yeah, my brother's niece. She's looking
- 3:31Speaker 2: at my shirt. She says trek Cast And I said, yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 2: that's my podcast. And she says, were you on the show?
- 3:40Speaker 2: I said, I'm on the show every every week. It's
- 3:43Speaker 2: my podcast. She's like, no, but you're a member of
- 3:47Speaker 2: the cast. You remember the star trek Cast. That's what
- 3:50Speaker 2: your shirt says, like trek Cast, she interpreted it. So
- 3:56Speaker 2: I said no, no, sadly, I was not on Star Trek.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. I was doing a I was doing
- 4:03Speaker 1: a Patriot Guard mission over the summer and I'm looking
- 4:07Speaker 1: over at another PGR member and a lot of them
- 4:09Speaker 1: are older, and there's this like gray bearded biker. Just
- 4:15Speaker 1: if you imagine what a biker looks like, that was
- 4:17Speaker 1: this guy, right, yeah, yeah, And you know, he's all
- 4:20Speaker 1: patched up and he looked tattoos and everything, and he's
- 4:24Speaker 1: you know, got to be in his late sixties. And
- 4:26Speaker 1: he looks over at my my vest and I've got
- 4:29Speaker 1: the trek cast vest trek cast on my vest and
- 4:32Speaker 1: he goes Trek cast. I said, yeah, it's you know,
- 4:36Speaker 1: it's not exactly a crowd that I you know, hey, guys,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I'm a trek. You know, I'm a podcaster. I'm like, yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I have a co host a Star Trek podcast. And
- 4:48Speaker 1: he goes good old one seven oh one, and I'm like, oh, okay.
- 4:55Speaker 4: We we are.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We are everywhere. I don't you know, I don't have
- 4:59Speaker 2: a MOTORCYCLI more, but I used to ride and my
- 5:02Speaker 2: my leather vest had a combat yeah you know, my
- 5:05Speaker 2: left on my left chest, and I you know, i'd
- 5:08Speaker 2: get dudes just pointing at it like, hey, like I
- 5:11Speaker 2: recognize that. Yeah, so yeah, I did it. We did
- 5:15Speaker 2: an event yesterday at the karate school. There was a
- 5:17Speaker 2: women's self defense seminar. So yeah, I wore the big
- 5:22Speaker 2: red suit so the ladies could could uh could beat
- 5:25Speaker 2: me up. But underneath that, I was wearing a tank top.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So when I took it off at the end, one
- 5:31Speaker 2: of the women, uh, she and her husband they were like,
- 5:34Speaker 2: is that a Is that a Klingon tattoo?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Sure?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Is, you know? And five minutes later it's like, all right,
- 5:43Speaker 2: how do you spell it? Trek cast here? Yeah, that's
- 5:46Speaker 2: the one.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the one.
- 5:47Speaker 2: So I mean they might they might be listening right now.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Who knows.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Nice I knew about the Superman tattoo. I didn't know
- 5:53Speaker 1: about the kling On tattoo.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Oh yeah, what other?
- 5:56Speaker 1: What other? What other inked up secrets are keeping from us?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Dand I have I have two more? I have two
- 6:03Speaker 2: more on my chest. I have one uh. One is
- 6:06Speaker 2: a heart with a sword through it with my wife's name. Uh.
- 6:11Speaker 2: The other is a heart with a halo and wings. Yeah,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and my son who passed away, his name is on there.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So those are my four so I'm about to ye,
- 6:25Speaker 2: it's it's been a while.
- 6:26Speaker 3: What's the next one.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Well, I figured, you know, I have my wife. Yeah, no, no,
- 6:33Speaker 2: I love I love you guys.
- 6:34Speaker 3: But I thought it would be the Ghostbusters logo.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be a billboard. That might that might
- 6:39Speaker 2: be a cool one.
- 6:40Speaker 1: The strong Beard silhouette logo.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah no, definitely. That's right on the right, on the
- 6:44Speaker 2: top of the list.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Right above, and I know right where it can go.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I was gonna say I should get something from my daughter,
- 6:51Speaker 2: uh and my and my other son, but yeah, no,
- 6:54Speaker 2: the strong Beard silhouette. That that's the one that beats
- 6:58Speaker 2: out the kids. Definitely at the top of the nice
- 7:05Speaker 2: Where do you want this, Sarah? I want it right
- 7:07Speaker 2: on my ass? Yeah? Yes, what is it?
- 7:10Speaker 3: STEVEO has the words your your name on his ass.
- 7:14Speaker 3: You can always tell people my name is on your ass?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh boy?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, what about you, Daniels, No, no, that's none.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah. I had a birthday party this week. Okay, Yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 3: So we got together yesterday and we did a little
- 7:33Speaker 3: Tmalli dinner, me and my family.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Yeah, thank you.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It was really nice and birthday we introduced the kids
- 7:41Speaker 3: into nineteen sixty six Adam West Batman.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Oh wow, showed the movie.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Those kids were laughing their heads off. Yeah at the movie.
- 7:51Speaker 2: The uh the bat shark repellent.
- 7:54Speaker 3: That's right, that's right.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Is that I never I've never seen it? Is that
- 7:59Speaker 2: the one with the bat molecular dust separator?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yes?
- 8:04Speaker 2: And so is it so bad?
- 8:06Speaker 1: It's good? I mean, should I watch it?
- 8:08Speaker 3: Okay, there's great riddler clues or you know, riddles like
- 8:12Speaker 3: what's six ounces and sits in a tree? And is
- 8:15Speaker 3: dangerous a sparrow with the Tommy gun?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Wait what.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Bert Ward? I I was watching? I was watching christis
- 8:24Speaker 1: Sun Infinite Earths with my with my son. Oh yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 1: so and and you know Tyler is you know, he's
- 8:31Speaker 1: looking at all the details of this and he pauses,
- 8:33Speaker 1: say hey, hey, Dad, who's this guy? And I'm like, oh,
- 8:36Speaker 1: that's Burt Ward. Yeah, that's the original Robin from yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: the Batman movie and Batman TV show from back in
- 8:43Speaker 1: the sixties.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 3: He does not look like a Robin anymore, but no.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Not really.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, well yeah, yeah it was fun.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So oh got a uh, I got an air fryer
- 8:57Speaker 3: for my birthday.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Hey, you know what air friers are awesome.
- 9:02Speaker 3: So I've never used one, so I'm about to find out. Yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 3: so any suggestions, I'll put them in the in the
- 9:10Speaker 3: chat of my air fryer.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Reheated egg rolls Chinese, Yeah, reheated egg rolls because you know,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you pop them in the microwave. They never they never,
- 9:21Speaker 2: they never reheat.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Right. But the air fryer, we've done breakfast, Like, we've
- 9:27Speaker 1: got a small one and we'll just PLoP a couple
- 9:29Speaker 1: of eggs at the bottom and then put some bacon
- 9:31Speaker 1: on the top of the basket. Yeah, and but yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 1: the air fry is great for Okay.
- 9:38Speaker 2: So what I'll do, I'll make it. I'll make a
- 9:39Speaker 2: breakfast sandwich. Then I'll wrap it in tinfoil. Then I'll
- 9:44Speaker 2: put it in the the air fryer for two minutes.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Oh kind of and it kind of warms everything up. Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Put it this way. If I had a replicator, i'd
- 9:53Speaker 2: replicate an air fryer.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Okay, all right, all right, okay, mine, one of the
- 9:58Speaker 3: I wouldn't I wouldn't replicate the food that comes out of.
- 10:01Speaker 2: The air friar. No, no, no, no, no, you can't skip
- 10:03Speaker 2: that step. You replicate the airce.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Mine is the kind that it's also like a dehydrator
- 10:09Speaker 3: and a bunch of other little things.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yep, ye, so I might we got a fancy Yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you might make what.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Beef jerky at some point?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I'm.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Scott.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Can you do that sound again? I really enjoyed.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah what was that about?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, beef jerky sounds good.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Wait wait wait, let's be really quiet and let's Scott
- 10:32Speaker 3: make the sound for those.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You want to you want to sound by. Okay, here
- 10:35Speaker 1: you go. I I heard beef jerky and I was
- 10:38Speaker 1: just like, I'm gonna let anybody who would like to
- 10:46Speaker 1: use that in any of their marketing or you have
- 10:50Speaker 1: my permission.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So that's a royalty free.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. You're gonna hear that peper.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Something chance is immediately.
- 10:59Speaker 2: No, that's my new text message. Yeah, god, I.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Was gonna do a real quick ps A if you mine. Okay. So,
- 11:14Speaker 1: as you guys know, I had a colonoscopy last week, right,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and I got the test results a couple of days
- 11:21Speaker 1: ago and it came back negative. Everything was good. They
- 11:24Speaker 1: found during the colonosopy they found too little what they're
- 11:27Speaker 1: called polyps.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:29Speaker 1: They were pre cancerous but non cancerous. And the doctor
- 11:32Speaker 1: said that I'm good. I don't have to have another
- 11:35Speaker 1: colosky for another seven years. The reason why I'm saying that.
- 11:39Speaker 2: That's a win win right there.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. The reason why I'm saying because I did
- 11:44Speaker 1: the colon guard first, because I'm a man of a
- 11:47Speaker 1: certain age. I'm forty six years old. And the colon
- 11:49Speaker 1: guard that's where you send your sample in via the mail,
- 11:55Speaker 1: and it came back positive. And so that's why I
- 11:58Speaker 1: got the colonospy. And the doctor said that false positives
- 12:02Speaker 1: are like fifty percent, like fifty percent of their of
- 12:07Speaker 1: the you know, it's just false positives, he said. But
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's better. It's it It still screens out people because
- 12:15Speaker 1: there's rarely a false negative. Okay, Anyways, the reason why
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm bringing this up is because I'm trying. I'd like
- 12:22Speaker 1: to encourage everyone out there who's of a certain age,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Like I said, I'm forty six, that if you know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: talk to the doctor and just get your colonoscopy. It's
- 12:32Speaker 1: not the big of a deal. I put it off
- 12:34Speaker 1: for a little while. It wasn't that big of a deal.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Went in, you know, my appointment was at ten. I
- 12:39Speaker 1: it was like an hour wait and then I had
- 12:41Speaker 1: to go in and twenty minutes later it was done.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So they gave me a little bit of propothal, which
- 12:45Speaker 1: I'd never been on, and the doctor says okay, or
- 12:49Speaker 1: the the anesthesiologist said okay. They you know, injected it
- 12:53Speaker 1: into my arm and said this is gonna be quick,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and I'm like, it's going to be Oh, you're right,
- 12:58Speaker 1: this is you. I mean, it was right now and
- 13:03Speaker 1: immediately after that I opened my eyes back up and
- 13:06Speaker 1: it was over with twenty five minutes later. So highly
- 13:09Speaker 1: encourage everybody who's in a certain age bracket to go
- 13:12Speaker 1: ahead and get it done. It's real, it's pretty pretty painless.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's important, all right, and thank you for listening
- 13:20Speaker 2: to ask Gasta.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Tattoos and colonoscopies.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Metal dude on our Instagram is given like the livelong
- 13:33Speaker 3: and prosperous sign, so he must be all for that
- 13:36Speaker 3: as well.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So it's awesome.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I figured since I have a platform, I might as well,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Jasmins is asking the real question, how was the
- 13:44Speaker 3: night the drink the night before?
- 13:47Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie the prep for a colon you
- 13:50Speaker 1: can't eat the day before. You can have you know,
- 13:52Speaker 1: liquid like I was having a lot of like broth
- 13:55Speaker 1: and bullion and jello and you know, seven up stuff
- 13:58Speaker 1: like that. But you can't eat the day before, and
- 14:00Speaker 1: then you have to take the medication which cleans you out.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And so yeah, don't don't be away from a toilet. Okay,
- 14:09Speaker 1: make sure you'll have make sure you have all three
- 14:11Speaker 1: shells with you.
- 14:12Speaker 3: That's right, that's right.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Hey, can we add some ass cast merch to the
- 14:19Speaker 2: merch store?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:22Speaker 2: We should.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Is that gonna be like our adult holy section?
- 14:30Speaker 3: Everybody poops? All right?
- 14:36Speaker 1: My mom my mom is listening. By the way, please tell.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Me there's some Star Trek.
- 14:40Speaker 3: We gotta Star Trek News. Let's get to it.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Star Trek News. So Scott, in all seriousness, I'm glad
- 14:52Speaker 2: you're okay, buddy.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Okay, and I appreciate you guys indulged let it even
- 14:57Speaker 1: though I didn't tell you I was going to.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I didn't know imagine that conversation. Hey, I want to
- 15:05Speaker 3: talk about my ass.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I was going to before the show started, and then
- 15:09Speaker 1: I ended up showing up late. I was gonna say, hey,
- 15:11Speaker 1: do you guys mind, And I'm like.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure when I'm not here, you guys talk
- 15:15Speaker 2: about my ass all the time, all.
- 15:16Speaker 3: The time, all the time.
- 15:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 15:19Speaker 3: So our first new story comes to us from screen Rant.
- 15:21Speaker 3: The headline is Netflix just made the same mistake as
- 15:24Speaker 3: Paramount Plus did, which is an interesting headline to say
- 15:27Speaker 3: that Prodigy will not be renewed. So it's just the
- 15:32Speaker 3: two seasons on Netflix and that's it. What we are
- 15:37Speaker 3: learning is that the showrunners, Kevin and Dan Hageman, have
- 15:41Speaker 3: as signed on to write a live action Lego Ninjago film.
- 15:47Speaker 3: So what does that mean? Live action? Are we going
- 15:51Speaker 3: to be stepping on legos with real people? Who knows?
- 15:55Speaker 3: It's very early days, but the Prodigy showrunners will be
- 15:59Speaker 3: not working a Lego movie, so that's cool. They got
- 16:03Speaker 3: something to work on. So yeah, okay, it's yeah, it is.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Season two still still going on.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah, he's on there, you can watch it. They're just
- 16:15Speaker 3: not gonna make a season three.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Is it, like, does it wrap things up or is it?
- 16:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, so I will be finishing it by the end
- 16:28Speaker 1: of the year.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well then yeah we can uh, we can
- 16:33Speaker 3: go over that. And then our next news story comes
- 16:35Speaker 3: to us from cinnamon blend and uh. LeVar Burton is
- 16:39Speaker 3: talking about Star Trek Legacy and he is not holding back.
- 16:43Speaker 3: So basically what he is saying is, I think it
- 16:49Speaker 3: januaryly affects the sentiment then and now, at least for
- 16:52Speaker 3: the cast and the audience. For two years now, it seems, uh,
- 16:56Speaker 3: everyone is interested in the idea of legacy as the
- 16:59Speaker 3: card when it was just airing. So he's he's going, hey,
- 17:04Speaker 3: what the hell, man, where's legacy? He's got? Yeah, I
- 17:11Speaker 3: think from where they shot it, okay, from when they
- 17:14Speaker 3: shot it so and from when they first announced that
- 17:17Speaker 3: they were all coming back and people were excited. So
- 17:22Speaker 3: he also says, you know, right now, the brain trust
- 17:24Speaker 3: over there is all in on Star Trek Academy and
- 17:28Speaker 3: this age of cutting back and retrenchment in the entertainment space.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I imagine they feel that they're going to focus on
- 17:34Speaker 3: something else, something new, And I would think that given
- 17:38Speaker 3: the opportunity and the resources, that they would want to
- 17:41Speaker 3: do this. It just makes so much sense. So he
- 17:44Speaker 3: agrees legacy should be happening, but but it.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Won't because you know, everybody wants it, you know.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I like the snide comment of the
- 17:55Speaker 3: brain Trust over there, right, you know that's not said
- 18:00Speaker 3: in uh, you know, the best of intentions? No, yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 3: a little bit, a little bit. And then our last
- 18:09Speaker 3: news story comes to us from Red Shirts Always Die.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Denise Crosby was in TX to appear in Star Trek Legacy.
- 18:16Speaker 3: If you read the article, that's a little bit of
- 18:18Speaker 3: an overstatement. Basically, what she says is she did have
- 18:22Speaker 3: conversations with Star Trek Picards season three showrunner Terry mettallis
- 18:27Speaker 3: about returning. But what would that look like? Would she
- 18:31Speaker 3: play you know, Tashi Err from another universe? Would she
- 18:35Speaker 3: play Cela? Who knows?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:38Speaker 3: They were just in early conversations like, hey, would you
- 18:40Speaker 3: be interested in coming back that kind of thing, and
- 18:43Speaker 3: it wasn't clear that it would be Picard or would
- 18:45Speaker 3: it be Legacy. They were just sounds like he was
- 18:48Speaker 3: just trying to figure out his story and he talked
- 18:50Speaker 3: to her about it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So well, I'll tell you what, I will ask her
- 18:55Speaker 1: about it if she does a panel in two weeks,
- 18:57Speaker 1: because oh, it's going to be at the Grand Rapids
- 19:00Speaker 1: Comic Con.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Are you are you gonna bring her up to speed
- 19:04Speaker 2: on your your colonoscopy or you.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Gonna I will just leave it. I as soon as
- 19:09Speaker 1: I get up to the mic, I'm gonna say, by
- 19:10Speaker 1: the way, I mean to get a lot of no
- 19:17Speaker 1: pun intended, but I'm gonna get a lot of ship
- 19:18Speaker 1: for that, don't I.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's how it works. We just
- 19:25Speaker 3: got a bit or a chat that says, yes, all
- 19:29Speaker 3: of season two is available. They dropped it all at once.
- 19:31Speaker 3: My eleven and thirteen year old love it. Shame of paramount.
- 19:34Speaker 3: They just have up on it. Oh, digit, yeah, that
- 19:40Speaker 3: must be it. Yeah, jazzz I love beef jerky.
- 19:45Speaker 2: There you go, So there is There is one more.
- 19:49Speaker 2: One more news story. We lost Terry Garr a couple
- 19:54Speaker 2: of days ago.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Oh that's right.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yes, yeah. She played the mother in Mister She was
- 20:01Speaker 2: in Young Frankenstein. Yeah, and she was in Assignment Earth
- 20:08Speaker 2: the episode of the original series with Gary seven and
- 20:13Speaker 2: funny story. You guys know, I watch I watched Star
- 20:15Speaker 2: Trek on Pluto sometimes I just have it on in
- 20:18Speaker 2: the background. I was watching it the other night, the
- 20:20Speaker 2: day the day she passed away, that evening I was
- 20:22Speaker 2: I was watching and it was it was a tg
- 20:26Speaker 2: It was a series of TNG episodes around the the
- 20:30Speaker 2: uh the Klingon War where Galarn assumed power. So it
- 20:35Speaker 2: was a you know, it was a continuous story over
- 20:38Speaker 2: three or four episodes, and then suddenly the next episode
- 20:42Speaker 2: came on and it wasn't TG, it was TS. I'm like,
- 20:44Speaker 2: that's really weird, and it was a Simon Earth. And
- 20:49Speaker 2: right after that they went back, they went back to TG.
- 20:51Speaker 2: So I think somebody in programming, somebody in programming said, hey,
- 20:55Speaker 2: this lady died this morning. Let's just uh, let's just
- 20:58Speaker 2: slip this one in.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Cool, we're on our tail end. We're on the tail
- 21:02Speaker 1: end of season two of T O S and and
- 21:06Speaker 1: Assignment Earth. I believe is the last episode of season two,
- 21:08Speaker 1: so okay, we're almost there.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well it's one for you.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah. It's one of like three episodes that I had
- 21:17Speaker 1: already seen before, because I have I've got like three
- 21:20Speaker 1: VHS tapes of the original series. I've seen, you know,
- 21:24Speaker 1: I've seen uh meor Mirror Assignment Earth and the one
- 21:28Speaker 1: where Kirk dresses up like a romulant.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Oh okay, you know, just making a comeback baby.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't know if you saw. The latest Aliens film
- 21:46Speaker 3: is going to be released on VHS.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that, and I don't understand why. But
- 21:52Speaker 2: so one thing I found interesting watching as Simon Earth
- 21:55Speaker 2: the other night is how much Star Trek, like the
- 22:02Speaker 2: rules of Star Trek have changed over the years, and
- 22:06Speaker 2: there's really no way to reconcile some of the things
- 22:11Speaker 2: they did on the original series with what they did
- 22:15Speaker 2: later on. So the whole premise of that episode, the
- 22:19Speaker 2: Captain's Log in the beginning, they talk about how we've
- 22:22Speaker 2: used the slingshot around the Sun method to travel back
- 22:26Speaker 2: in time to the twentieth century to conduct historical research. Meanwhile, meanwhile,
- 22:33Speaker 2: in the twenty fourth century, if you did that, you
- 22:37Speaker 2: would go to jail.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Temporal investigations would be up your ass. Yeah, yeah, like
- 22:42Speaker 1: a colonoscopy.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Oh my god, this guy, you cannot stop. He's just
- 22:48Speaker 2: infatuated with his own ass.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Indeed, indeed, well, let's let's get on to our main topic. Please,
- 22:57Speaker 3: the fun will now commence.
- 23:03Speaker 6: All right, is reviewing Star Trek Lower Decks Episode three.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Uh, I think it's Exotic Hotel.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Okay, Scott, this is the one where they go to Uranus, right.
- 23:20Speaker 3: That's right, Yeah, where all the fun happens, all of it. Yes,
- 23:29Speaker 3: anyone in to recap the episode.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I've got the tag right here.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Okay, good for it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Uh, the lower Deckers hunt Na nights on a resort
- 23:37Speaker 1: in space. Nice.
- 23:40Speaker 3: That's that's about it. I put in the chat, does
- 23:45Speaker 3: anyone want the section thirty one movie released on vhs?
- 23:49Speaker 3: And people are just like, no, don't care about the
- 23:51Speaker 3: second thirty one movie at all? Yeah, yeah, that's funny.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 3: So this episode had quite a few like little stories
- 24:01Speaker 3: going on. They were they were chasing down that Nan
- 24:04Speaker 3: night cluster, Jennifer was kind of messing with Mariner the
- 24:09Speaker 3: whole episode, pretending that they were still together, and then
- 24:14Speaker 3: Boiler was trying to save his hands.
- 24:19Speaker 2: It was.
- 24:20Speaker 3: It was a weird little episode, but it was. It
- 24:22Speaker 3: was goofy and fun.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I thought, yeah, you know, I'm gonna be perfectly honest.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I was. I was pretty poh they weren't going to
- 24:32Speaker 2: continue this show, that they canceled this show. But in
- 24:36Speaker 2: all honesty, I mean, we're what are we three episodes in? Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I mean I I've had fun watching these. I recognize
- 24:48Speaker 2: the Easter eggs, but I have not laughed out loud
- 24:51Speaker 2: at all really this season. Yeah, Yeah, I'm wondering if
- 24:56Speaker 2: I wonder if they realized that or if you know,
- 25:01Speaker 2: they're already moving on to other things, and uh, it's
- 25:05Speaker 2: kind of getting half effort or something. I don't know.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I had a good time with the episode. I
- 25:14Speaker 3: think you're right. I didn't like laugh out Loud that much,
- 25:17Speaker 3: but I was entertained with it.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was amusing.
- 25:23Speaker 3: But I think part of it is I don't think
- 25:26Speaker 3: that the jokes are worse. I think it's what I
- 25:27Speaker 3: said before, that it's it's run off the novelty, right,
- 25:31Speaker 3: that was what made the jokes better. Yeah, and because
- 25:34Speaker 3: that novelty is gone, it's not as humorous. Yeah, yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 3: I think that chasms. I feel the same Dan, Yeah.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I sort of feel the same way. But I
- 25:49Speaker 1: think I think it's not gonna end in a whimper.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I think they're gonna I think they're gonna call in
- 25:53Speaker 1: all the stops as the season progresses and comes to
- 25:56Speaker 1: an end. I have faith of the heart, yes, that
- 26:02Speaker 1: this is gonna work, that we're gonna remember the end
- 26:04Speaker 1: of the series fondly a lot of laughs. I have
- 26:07Speaker 1: a question.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I think we'll remember the series fondly overall.
- 26:11Speaker 1: But you're saying season five has been a lackluster Yeah,
- 26:15Speaker 1: I think, yeah, I'd agree with that. What uh, why
- 26:19Speaker 1: is the species escaping in my brain? Jennifer is a
- 26:24Speaker 1: and Andrian. Okay, So I was watching the episode and
- 26:28Speaker 1: with my with my thirteen year old, I'm like, why
- 26:33Speaker 1: is an and Dorian named Jennifer? That just doesn't make
- 26:38Speaker 1: any sense to me, And he looks over at me.
- 26:40Speaker 1: He goes, it's probably a nickname. I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 26:43Speaker 1: I guess that could be it. Yeah, like her name
- 26:46Speaker 1: is probably like a weird you know, Janna enough for you, yea,
- 26:52Speaker 1: And people just call her Jennifer.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Either that or you know, there are people on earth
- 26:59Speaker 2: here now that name their kids dumb sounding shit just
- 27:04Speaker 2: so people will say, oh, what does it mean? Oh
- 27:06Speaker 2: it's you know, it means whatever in some other language.
- 27:10Speaker 2: So she could just she could just come from a
- 27:12Speaker 2: family of pretentious douchebags who we're not. We're not going
- 27:16Speaker 2: to give our kid an Andorian name. We're going to
- 27:17Speaker 2: give our kid a human name, right right.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I like that one too, Yeah, I like that one too.
- 27:24Speaker 3: It's possible. But oh yeah, Brian says, the last episode
- 27:30Speaker 3: is going to be crazy.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, probably another theory. You know, this is the twenty
- 27:37Speaker 2: fifth century. Maybe she's an Andrian who grew up on
- 27:42Speaker 2: Earth and her parents, you know Chinese family moves here,
- 27:46Speaker 2: they give their kids American names.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Right, yeah, that make make those are three reasonable explanations.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I think, Yeah, it's possible.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, maybe she was adopted like warf.
- 28:01Speaker 2: True.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Oh we go Stora, it's just cartoons.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So maybe I had a dumb question.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Then wow, there's no dumb questions.
- 28:15Speaker 1: All three of you, Dan, Daniel and my son are
- 28:17Speaker 1: just like, here's me shipping on your point.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Wow, wow, I do like that.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Uh.
- 28:30Speaker 3: That Boimler was just so on edge the entire episode,
- 28:33Speaker 3: just worried because he met this guy who had lost
- 28:39Speaker 3: his hands hanging out with Ransom and yeah, that guy.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Said, and then he's like the lieutenant behind him was like,
- 28:47Speaker 1: don't worry. You know, the doctor's going to grow you
- 28:49Speaker 1: some new hands back. And it got me to thinking,
- 28:52Speaker 1: how does how does that work in the twenty fourth century?
- 28:57Speaker 1: Is it they just grow you a new set of
- 28:59Speaker 1: hands and reattach him or.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Where you have like little baby hands for a little bit.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And then right right, because they made a reference in
- 29:10Speaker 1: Deep Space nine one time here his friend that had
- 29:12Speaker 1: the missing arm. He said, yeah, the starfleet doctor said,
- 29:15Speaker 1: we can get you a new arm, you know, to
- 29:18Speaker 1: function just like the old one. So I wonder, I
- 29:21Speaker 1: kind of wonder how that works.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I don't know exactly how it works, but
- 29:25Speaker 2: I mean we've seen it plenty of times. Nog had
- 29:27Speaker 2: a uh artificial leg. Mart Martalk got a new eye.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Did they offer to grow Nog a leg too?
- 29:37Speaker 2: Like?
- 29:37Speaker 3: They said they could do it and he just refused.
- 29:39Speaker 2: No, they did it. He had a new like, yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 2: he had no he said it didn't feel like the
- 29:44Speaker 2: old one, and they thought it was.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it was all in his head from PTSD and
- 29:48Speaker 1: they Martok did not get a new eye.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yes he did, Yes, he did. Later on he got
- 29:55Speaker 2: a new eye.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 1: M would anybody uh that's looking live carried away in.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Did Martalk end up getting a new eye or did
- 30:11Speaker 1: he proclaim that he did not want an artificial eye?
- 30:15Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he got one.
- 30:16Speaker 1: At the end way and everybody, the voting begins now,
- 30:21Speaker 1: early voting is starting.
- 30:25Speaker 3: He felt, uh, let's see. According to Iris Stephen Bear,
- 30:29Speaker 3: he felt it was important that the character turned down
- 30:33Speaker 3: the opportunity to have his sight restored.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Oh I stand corrected. Yeah I thought he did.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe you're thinking of thor Thorhead is I replaced
- 30:43Speaker 3: in the movies?
- 30:45Speaker 1: They're basically the same character.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Basically, I get confused all the time.
- 30:51Speaker 1: M hm. Is there any humble way to accept your
- 30:54Speaker 1: I was wrong? No, there's not.
- 30:56Speaker 3: No.
- 30:57Speaker 2: No, well you can you can take my my apology
- 31:01Speaker 2: and you know where you can put it. Oh no, Well,
- 31:07Speaker 2: follow the theme of this show.
- 31:11Speaker 1: There's a doctor dust In in Kalamazoo that would be
- 31:14Speaker 1: very curious about where I could put it.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yes, so, yeah, so I don't even know what we're at.
- 31:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Yeah so yeah, so they were chasing a n a
- 31:34Speaker 3: night cluster that was going around and yeah, well, there
- 31:42Speaker 3: was like a video game back in the day where
- 31:44Speaker 3: like it was a ball and it would go around
- 31:45Speaker 3: collecting everything. I forget the name of that game, but
- 31:49Speaker 3: it totally reminded me of that game pac Man. No,
- 31:52Speaker 3: it wasn't pac Man.
- 31:54Speaker 2: It was like that was that was literally a ball
- 31:56Speaker 2: that went around collecting everything.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Right for me?
- 31:59Speaker 2: What about for me?
- 32:03Speaker 3: For some reason?
- 32:07Speaker 2: The die?
- 32:07Speaker 1: The die was a twenty sided die, and I there
- 32:10Speaker 1: was a real quick, a real quick, like few frames,
- 32:13Speaker 1: you know, blink and you'll miss it, but like you
- 32:15Speaker 1: could see. Mariner was like, oh my god, it's a
- 32:20Speaker 1: had tony with her finger. It's it and I can't
- 32:22Speaker 1: even pronounce. I got it. It's an icosahedron. I c
- 32:26Speaker 1: O s a hedron. It's a twenty sided die. That
- 32:30Speaker 1: twenty sided die is the one that they usually use
- 32:32Speaker 1: in D and D. So I just I love that
- 32:36Speaker 1: that little moment where she's like, it's a yeah, yeah
- 32:41Speaker 1: something something ohedron. Oh uh yeah, let's talk about tie
- 32:48Speaker 1: Lin's obsession with this uh, this band, this music.
- 32:52Speaker 3: That's right, she's into some music.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Yeah, she's yeah, she's like, that's my favorite kind of music.
- 32:59Speaker 1: That's She's She's developing a kind of a personality. I'm
- 33:04Speaker 1: starting I'm starting to like her.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Over on the Instagram account, people are also saying
- 33:10Speaker 3: he did not get a new eye.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, we established that. Okay, I was wrong.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I was wrong. I apologize the apology. What is Scott's ass?
- 33:19Speaker 2: Keep up?
- 33:20Speaker 1: Could could everybody tag dan and on Facebook and Instagram
- 33:24Speaker 1: for me please and send him clips and things like that?
- 33:29Speaker 4: Great.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Brian says that the instrument looks like a three person power.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Bong, it does it looks that looks like the keyboard
- 33:38Speaker 2: and the Fortress of Solitude.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Yeah oh yeah yeah, uh uh huh yeah.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And then she's like she's really obsessed with that band
- 33:49Speaker 3: or like that musician I forget his name, I don't know. Yeah,
- 33:54Speaker 3: and Doc Doc Brown over here right with the bad
- 33:57Speaker 3: Sondan that's just everything's tan except for his little eyes,
- 34:02Speaker 3: his little.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Goggles, Admiral Melinas something. Yeah, it's a reference to screenwriter,
- 34:11Speaker 1: the screenwriter at screenwriter of Apocalypse now.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Oh okay, okay, okay, yeah, he had a really bad tan,
- 34:21Speaker 3: which was funny. And then Ransom that the outfit that
- 34:26Speaker 3: he's wearing, isn't that something that Trip and Malcolm wore
- 34:29Speaker 3: on their vacation.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I knew it looked familiar. I think you're right.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that's what it's a reference to.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Possibly because the race, the race that they upset or
- 34:44Speaker 2: that Boimler upsets. I think that's that's the race that
- 34:51Speaker 2: was pissed at Archer for eating in front of them.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Yes, I think that's the same race.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what that was reference to. Got it?
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 35:02Speaker 3: I like how we're giving Scott the easter eggs.
- 35:07Speaker 5: You know.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I yeah, I didn't catch some of these.
- 35:12Speaker 2: So so the the nanites turned out to not be nanites, right,
- 35:21Speaker 2: it was, but it was an Intrepid Class Federation starship
- 35:25Speaker 2: from an alternate universe that that exists in a microscopic state?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Am I getting that correct?
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yeah? I think that.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's the nail on the head. Are
- 35:38Speaker 1: they going to use that as a plot point later
- 35:40Speaker 1: out in the season because that was just too weird
- 35:42Speaker 1: and cool to dismiss.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I hope they do.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I think it could be fun because they did mention.
- 35:51Speaker 3: You know, there's been a lot of space rifts lately,
- 35:53Speaker 3: and there has been every episode, right, so that's gotta
- 35:57Speaker 3: be something that's coming on, which makes me think we're
- 36:00Speaker 3: gonna build up to that big space metal at the end,
- 36:02Speaker 3: and that's why that uh well maybe yeah, watch the
- 36:11Speaker 3: wrong but.
- 36:13Speaker 2: It seems so. Is that ship also from another time though,
- 36:17Speaker 2: because that's an Intrepid Class ship which is a few
- 36:20Speaker 2: years old at this point, and they're wearing that captain
- 36:24Speaker 2: was wearing a TNG era outfit.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, maybe it could be explained away in a
- 36:31Speaker 1: dozen different ways, you know, maybe maybe in their universe
- 36:34Speaker 1: they still use those uniforms, or maybe it is from
- 36:37Speaker 1: the past and an alternate dimension. It reminded me of
- 36:40Speaker 1: that DS nine episode. I forgot what it's called. I
- 36:43Speaker 1: think it's called One Little Ship or a Little the
- 36:45Speaker 1: one where the where the runabout gets shrunk, right, So.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but uh, that that was I don't know, we
- 36:58Speaker 3: don't know what. Yeah, go ahead, you know what.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I'd like to see a callback to. Do you remember
- 37:04Speaker 2: an episode of Deep Space nine called The Sound of
- 37:07Speaker 2: Her Voice, where the whole episode was them en route
- 37:12Speaker 2: to respond to a distress call and it was a
- 37:15Speaker 2: starfleet captain who was stranded on a planet and her
- 37:19Speaker 2: life support was failing and by the time they got there,
- 37:22Speaker 2: she had been dead for ten years. Yeah, and they
- 37:26Speaker 2: realized that the there was a temporal something in the
- 37:29Speaker 2: transmission and they were speaking to her in the past.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Yeah, So that was an episode that the end tugged
- 37:38Speaker 1: on your heart strings.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yep, But that's as long as as long as
- 37:45Speaker 2: we're kicking around the timeline. Yeah, might be might be
- 37:50Speaker 2: nice to revisit that find out some more about her.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I feel like that's too serious for lower decks.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't. I didn't necessarily mean lower decks. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 38:02Speaker 2: but yeah no, that was a good one. And I
- 38:05Speaker 2: think I'm gonna cry now, I know. Yeah, yeah, no,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna cry about being wrong about Marto's I I
- 38:14Speaker 2: don't care about the dead the dead Captain just really upset.
- 38:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Now I'm thinking about all the sad endings to all
- 38:21Speaker 1: the Star Trek of itsels like the Voyager one, where
- 38:25Speaker 1: where they come across the like they come across like
- 38:29Speaker 1: Friendship three, or they come across the crew of whatever,
- 38:32Speaker 1: and and and it was, oh, it's the guy that
- 38:35Speaker 1: the guy that played Marsian the Manhunter, and I think
- 38:39Speaker 1: small bill uh and and and and in one of
- 38:43Speaker 1: his mission logs that the Voyager crew is reviewing, he's
- 38:46Speaker 1: he's talking about, Oh, I didn't get to see who.
- 38:49Speaker 1: The very end of the episode, they recover his body.
- 38:52Speaker 1: They put him in a you know, a starfleet casket,
- 38:54Speaker 1: and seven of nine like leans over the casket, puts
- 38:57Speaker 1: her hand on it and says, what ever team it was?
- 39:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Dodgers, the Dodgers in five games or.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Dodgers in five games. And I'm just like, oh, you know.
- 39:11Speaker 3: That this episode made me realize just I've said it before,
- 39:15Speaker 3: but like it just really hit it on the head
- 39:17Speaker 3: of this episode that that Mariner is really the anti
- 39:21Speaker 3: Burnham in a lot of respects, Like Burnham wanted wanted
- 39:25Speaker 3: to progress in her career and Mariner does not.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Uh.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Burnham is willing to have like the heart to heart
- 39:32Speaker 3: conversations with you, and Mariner was trying to avoid that
- 39:35Speaker 3: at all costs. Doesn't want to talk about her feelings.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Ye.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Like, it's amazing how different they are.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah, a great character.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Burnham got arrested. Burnham committed a crime,
- 39:48Speaker 2: got arrested, and it wrecked her emotionally. Mariner spends every
- 39:52Speaker 2: other weekend in the break and yeah, brushes it off,
- 39:55Speaker 2: just like what yeah whatever, dude.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah exactly. So I just thought that was
- 40:03Speaker 3: funny that they just keep kind of putting that in
- 40:06Speaker 3: the back of your head.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got my eye on t Lynn. I don't know.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I think they're gonna I think something special is for her.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Are we looking at at a polyque between the three
- 40:19Speaker 3: of them?
- 40:22Speaker 1: What they call that?
- 40:23Speaker 2: How is there no merch for this show?
- 40:26Speaker 3: There has been actually on star trek dot com, they've
- 40:30Speaker 3: been releasing a new shirt every week based on the episodes.
- 40:35Speaker 3: So they're just not really good at letting people know
- 40:39Speaker 3: that it exists.
- 40:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like I don't know as
- 40:46Speaker 2: much as a model, Yeah, as much as much as
- 40:50Speaker 2: I don't buy a lot of modern toys. If they
- 40:54Speaker 2: if they came out with action figures that looked like
- 40:57Speaker 2: these characters, yeah I would buy them.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I would would.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And then and then if they put out Wharf in
- 41:08Speaker 2: the Lower Deck style, I would buy that one.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:11Speaker 2: If they put out Riker in the Lower Deck style,
- 41:13Speaker 2: I would buy that one.
- 41:16Speaker 1: War and the factor of two three four.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Yeah exactly, James, I got Baggie.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we're we're five seasons in and the
- 41:26Speaker 2: show is over, and they got they missed it.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Ye well Nocelle just got the license. So maybe they'll
- 41:34Speaker 3: eventually release some of these guys.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but the show's over, the show's over. They missed,
- 41:39Speaker 2: they missed the they missed their opportunity.
- 41:41Speaker 1: And and I don't think Lower Decks is gonna have
- 41:43Speaker 1: like the same you know whatever that the other shows have.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I mean, you and I are still gonna buy Deep
- 41:50Speaker 1: Space nine stuff if they come out right now, right
- 41:53Speaker 1: three years from now, if lower deck stuff comes out.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I got my eye on that way Uni.
- 41:59Speaker 1: So with the multiple like detachable heads.
- 42:03Speaker 3: That's right, that's right, that's right. Yeah, so you get
- 42:06Speaker 3: way you nine Wayne seven? Wait, the same had multiple times.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Oh, we can get one. We can get one where
- 42:15Speaker 1: it's a hand that's also attachable. They can go up
- 42:19Speaker 1: to the head to do the whole. I'm gonna initiate
- 42:22Speaker 1: myself destruck.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yes, yes, oh.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I actually saw an interview with the CEO of Nassel.
- 42:33Speaker 3: He was on another podcast called The Reluctant Adult Podcast,
- 42:37Speaker 3: and they were talking a lot about the new Star
- 42:39Speaker 3: Trek line. It was really interesting. You said that new
- 42:43Speaker 3: line is going to be basically inspired by the Star
- 42:46Speaker 3: Wars Black series or the New j Joe what's the
- 42:49Speaker 3: new j Joe line called Dan Classified. Yeah, those ones.
- 42:53Speaker 3: They're going to be very very into accessories with their
- 42:56Speaker 3: characters and the they're very much going to try to
- 42:59Speaker 3: keep them under thirty dollars.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Sod damn thirty dollars. Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Like if you have a favorite character, then
- 43:08Speaker 1: maybe you'll buy that one character. But nobody's gonna be
- 43:12Speaker 1: not people in our demographic, our average income are going
- 43:16Speaker 1: to be buying like ten of these things.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Yeah again again, if they're smart, they will scale these
- 43:21Speaker 2: with the Diamond Select toys from ten years ago, and
- 43:26Speaker 2: people who have those will buy these to fill in,
- 43:30Speaker 2: to fill in the holes. Right. But if it's completely different,
- 43:33Speaker 2: if it's a completely different scale, I'm not like I'll
- 43:37Speaker 2: get two vics. It's about it.
- 43:39Speaker 1: And the other. And here's why too. Let me explain
- 43:42Speaker 1: to these people that are making these toys why I'm
- 43:46Speaker 1: a co host of a Star Trek podcast, right, I'm
- 43:50Speaker 1: not going out to buy the stuff.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 3: The one thing that that also kind of made me
- 43:58Speaker 3: happy with NASL is the people behind them are the
- 44:02Speaker 3: same people who did those Netflix shows the toys that
- 44:05Speaker 3: made us. It's the same people. So that's pretty cool.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah hmmm.
- 44:14Speaker 3: And they already said that Wave two is being planned
- 44:16Speaker 3: and there will be a Kirk in it. But he
- 44:19Speaker 3: says that it will be a Kirk in an outfit
- 44:21Speaker 3: that you are not seeing him in yet. So okay,
- 44:24Speaker 3: I'm hoping for chicken suit.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Chicken suit.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Kirk.
- 44:30Speaker 2: So what do you think Kirk in a suit we
- 44:32Speaker 2: haven't seen him in yet? Yeah, it's Kirk is a Nazi.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Oh Colley's shirtless and every other episode we're watching right now.
- 44:40Speaker 1: I mean, Kirk is ridiculous. We were just watching an
- 44:43Speaker 1: episode and I don't even remember what it was about,
- 44:45Speaker 1: but like, the obvious solution to their problems was to
- 44:48Speaker 1: destroy the ship, and any captain worth their salt in
- 44:53Speaker 1: Starfleet would gladly give up their lives and give up
- 44:56Speaker 1: their ship for the greater good, especially especially reserved the
- 45:00Speaker 1: prime directive. And when the crew like sort of brought
- 45:03Speaker 1: this plan to Kirk, Kirk was like, what, yeah, destroy
- 45:07Speaker 1: the ship. I would never And it's like he was
- 45:10Speaker 1: acting like a you know, a child. He was acting
- 45:13Speaker 1: like a second lieutenant who had only been you know,
- 45:16Speaker 1: in Starfleet for six months, like I don't want to die.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I don't want to destroy the ship. And it's like
- 45:22Speaker 1: you should have been the one to come up with
- 45:23Speaker 1: this idea in the first place.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, you know, they said, Kirk. But I wouldn't
- 45:29Speaker 3: be surprised if it's Chris Fine Kirk and we get
- 45:32Speaker 3: him in one of the movie out of its I.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Know who it shouldn't be. It shouldn't be Strange New
- 45:36Speaker 1: World's Kirk. Yeah, because that is about as Vanilla as
- 45:41Speaker 1: he last night.
- 45:44Speaker 2: He's I like him, I think, yeah, I think he's good.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. I think I think that he and
- 45:54Speaker 1: Burnham should get together. Oh god, I think I think
- 45:57Speaker 1: that should be a plot point and that way Spot
- 46:00Speaker 1: can be like he left, you made him go away, dude,
- 46:08Speaker 1: because those two have about the same amount of charisma
- 46:12Speaker 1: in my opinion.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Why do you got to bring her up every episode?
- 46:17Speaker 1: It's what I do.
- 46:18Speaker 2: The show. The show is over, It's all right, that's right.
- 46:22Speaker 2: It was supposed to be my opportunity to put her
- 46:24Speaker 2: out of my head.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Burnham keeps, I'm giving.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Oh, she's gonna be all over section thirty one. Oh,
- 46:32Speaker 3: I don't think she'll be on it, but they'll talk
- 46:34Speaker 3: about her.
- 46:34Speaker 2: When When does When does that come out? January January
- 46:39Speaker 2: January twenty fifth, Yeah, all right, I got to start
- 46:42Speaker 2: a new You know, I used to keep a I
- 46:44Speaker 2: used to keep a list on my phone of different
- 46:46Speaker 2: movies and shows that were that were coming out soon,
- 46:49Speaker 2: so that I could so I knew, so I keep
- 46:51Speaker 2: it straight. What's coming out? I know there's a bunch
- 46:52Speaker 2: of things, a bunch of things coming out. Uh the uh,
- 46:57Speaker 2: the Mike Tyson Jake Paul Fights coming out a few weeks.
- 47:01Speaker 1: You know, if that was on pay per view, I
- 47:03Speaker 1: would never even consider getting it. It's on Netflix, baby,
- 47:07Speaker 1: if you got full of boxing.
- 47:09Speaker 2: If you've got you've got it. You don't have to
- 47:13Speaker 2: I'm going to watch it. I want I want to see.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I want to see geriatric Mike Tyson put this dude
- 47:22Speaker 2: in the hospital. Yes, yes, that's what I want to see.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I know almost about Jake Paul, but oh yeah, I
- 47:32Speaker 1: know he.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Was like he's like a YouTuber or something.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's talking so much trash about Mike.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I want I want to see a reporter asking him,
- 47:41Speaker 2: like shoving the mic in his face and say what
- 47:44Speaker 2: made you think this is a good idea? And just yea,
- 47:46Speaker 2: throw the mic in his face. That's what I want
- 47:48Speaker 2: to see. Yep.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Well all right, let's let's get the listener feedback
- 47:54Speaker 3: and people can tell what they think about the Mike
- 47:56Speaker 3: Tyson Jake Baull fight.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Sure listener feedback.
- 48:04Speaker 3: All right, So we got Chaz was waiting, so let's
- 48:06Speaker 3: bring him on as always.
- 48:10Speaker 4: Well, will Mike Tyson bite his ear off or else?
- 48:16Speaker 1: I don't care. I just somebody's gonna be Yeah, somebody's
- 48:21Speaker 1: gonna believe.
- 48:22Speaker 4: He just you know, went over there and just took
- 48:25Speaker 4: a little piece of eger off.
- 48:26Speaker 3: So I saw the video with Jake Paul when he
- 48:29Speaker 3: tells his dad that he's going to be fighting Mike Tyson,
- 48:32Speaker 3: and his dad is just like, why are you He's.
- 48:36Speaker 4: Going to.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Are you money?
- 48:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it's definitely money. All these influencers with their you know,
- 48:48Speaker 4: I don't know, it's just crazy.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I wonder what that dollar amount is. I wonder.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Did you see the influencer that wrecked his McLaren the
- 48:57Speaker 4: other day?
- 48:58Speaker 3: Oh, I heard about this.
- 49:00Speaker 4: He was like on my way, they're filming it. He's
- 49:02Speaker 4: playing on his phone and.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Is as he's driving McLaren.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 49:07Speaker 4: And it's raining, so you lose control, hits the bridge
- 49:10Speaker 4: and his buddy's sitting in the seat, and all he
- 49:13Speaker 4: cares about is the car, not his buddy. That's all
- 49:16Speaker 4: bloody and everything else. Did you get the video? Yeah, yes, exactly,
- 49:20Speaker 4: that's all it was.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I mean to be fair, you know, I'm trying to
- 49:24Speaker 1: think of how many friends I would care about more
- 49:26Speaker 1: than I'm McLaren. But yeah, yeah, but I guess if
- 49:34Speaker 1: there's full coverage then.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just annoyed that the title of influencer is
- 49:41Speaker 2: like a thing.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Now, Yes, that's the worst title. The worst thing that
- 49:46Speaker 4: ever happened with the Internet is the influencers taking over.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Yeah, all those YouTubers and podcasters.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Say we have like a little subset, like we're not
- 50:01Speaker 4: influencing anybody.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Still though, even even if we blew up, I don't
- 50:05Speaker 2: think I would. I don't think I would refer to
- 50:07Speaker 2: myself as an influencer. I would like to.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Think of myself and as an influencer. I I think
- 50:12Speaker 1: I I I'd like to influence people to get colonoscopes.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Yeah, any you're using your powers for good not evil. Okay,
- 50:20Speaker 3: where Bryan says that influencer is now begging viewers for
- 50:24Speaker 3: money to replace his McLaren.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Yes, oh yeah, what's his Patriot account?
- 50:30Speaker 4: Yeah don it?
- 50:32Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so we can wreck that one too, playing
- 50:36Speaker 3: on his phone?
- 50:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:39Speaker 1: You know what's sad is if he if he did
- 50:40Speaker 1: a gofund me account, it would have thousands and thousands
- 50:43Speaker 1: of dollars, isn't it? Oh?
- 50:44Speaker 3: Probably probably Kasmin. What do you think of the episode?
- 50:48Speaker 4: I kind of agree with Dan right now, Like this
- 50:50Speaker 4: season's been kind of I don't know, there's there's something,
- 50:54Speaker 4: there's something missing. I haven't chuckled a lot.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they're building up to something.
- 51:00Speaker 4: And you know, I like the part where you know,
- 51:03Speaker 4: they go on this planet that's like a giant cruise
- 51:05Speaker 4: ship m hm or and uh then they see the
- 51:10Speaker 4: apocalypse now admiral or whatever because he has this like
- 51:15Speaker 4: group of people and then they realized like, hey, why
- 51:17Speaker 4: am I standing here. I'm like, I'm on vacation and
- 51:21Speaker 4: uh m hm. And I thought, you know, I thought
- 51:25Speaker 4: that part was kind of funny.
- 51:27Speaker 3: A lot of people are talking about this influencer stuff.
- 51:31Speaker 3: That's that's what's got the chill.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Came out a couple of weeks ago, those kind of
- 51:36Speaker 4: Yeah you don't see people wrecking their car and caring
- 51:38Speaker 4: about themselves, then.
- 51:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna go wreck my Kia in solidarity.
- 51:46Speaker 3: That's what I'm gonna do. The funny thing is watching
- 51:48Speaker 3: now that I've said that, it'll happen. It'll be like,
- 51:50Speaker 3: you know, just a legitimate crash and yeah.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you'll see that. He'll be like kicking the car. Yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Car.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I had a question, what did you guys think about
- 52:02Speaker 1: this the whole idea of a like a cruise space
- 52:06Speaker 1: station type of thing.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Maybe we've got.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we got right. Well I was thinking about that too,
- 52:12Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, well we've got cruise ships and
- 52:15Speaker 1: then we have you know, tropical destinations. You know, you
- 52:19Speaker 1: either go on a World Caribbean cruise or you go
- 52:21Speaker 1: to the Bahamas. So I guess you got.
- 52:24Speaker 4: To think like how far travel is, So they're gonna
- 52:26Speaker 4: have to have like different areas in the other worlds.
- 52:31Speaker 1: You know. It just seems to me like that's that's
- 52:34Speaker 1: an awful expense. Wouldn't it be a lot I'm gonna say,
- 52:37Speaker 1: cheaper cheaper to put a resort on a planet than
- 52:42Speaker 1: make it a giant space station.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Maybe it was a decommissioned like military space station.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, that could be because.
- 52:52Speaker 3: It kind of looked like an older cell space station.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I did.
- 52:57Speaker 4: It could be like that one on us. Was it
- 52:59Speaker 4: the star Trek into Darkness that went into.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Be like that and they turned it into a resort.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Well, and then like the way it seemed to me
- 53:10Speaker 3: like Risa is like basically Vegas, Right, you don't want
- 53:13Speaker 3: to take your kids there? Where is this one? Seemed
- 53:16Speaker 3: more family friendly?
- 53:17Speaker 4: Yes?
- 53:18Speaker 3: Yeah, family friendly stuff in Vegas.
- 53:24Speaker 4: But really, you don't want to wear the leftover robes
- 53:27Speaker 4: from the Golden Girls.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I want to go to that one planet that Wesley
- 53:33Speaker 1: uh was going to get killed.
- 53:35Speaker 3: At for touching the grass.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, because you are said, uh, they you know they
- 53:41Speaker 1: make love at the drop of a hat. Yeah, well.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Are you going to ask her about that? And your
- 53:48Speaker 4: colonoscopy when you see.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I will, well tell me about the pleasure planets? Yeah,
- 53:55Speaker 1: I have two things and they related.
- 53:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you're into empyre treks.
- 54:06Speaker 2: And then remember your mom is your mom?
- 54:12Speaker 1: Everybody say hi to Nancy. Hi man, I'm gonna get
- 54:20Speaker 1: a letter from you guys, aren't I. Hey, it's been
- 54:23Speaker 1: a good run, Scott, What did you guys do?
- 54:30Speaker 4: So I actually did chase kids with the chainsaw with
- 54:33Speaker 4: the trek cast shirt on.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Did you really? That's amazing.
- 54:39Speaker 4: My sister does like a haunted house type thing in
- 54:42Speaker 4: her yard every year.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Nice, get you have pictures.
- 54:47Speaker 4: I got a little video.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you gotta post that up in the group.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Post yeah, posted up on the Facebook group.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Which that's a good reminder people. We got a Facebook group.
- 54:55Speaker 3: You should join it. It's crazy as hell.
- 54:57Speaker 4: It's a lot of children, so and it's it's fun.
- 55:02Speaker 1: So yeah, that's great. I love it.
- 55:05Speaker 4: And then I have another one because I wasn't here
- 55:08Speaker 4: at my house, but on my ring I have a
- 55:10Speaker 4: my wife gave out, you know, the black and orange
- 55:13Speaker 4: candy that nobody likes for Halloween. You know I'm talking about. No,
- 55:20Speaker 4: they're like the black and orange packages, right, I.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Mean that's most of them right now for for Halloween
- 55:27Speaker 3: they're talking about.
- 55:30Speaker 4: They're they're like the generic candy.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I know what you're talking about.
- 55:40Speaker 4: You'll get them.
- 55:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, my.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Wife left that on the porch. And then you know
- 55:49Speaker 4: on the ring camera that you hear this kid go
- 55:50Speaker 4: up there and he's like, there's no good candy, no
- 55:55Speaker 4: good candy.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Kids are brutal, man.
- 55:58Speaker 4: And it's like, I told not to do it because
- 56:01Speaker 4: she did that last time and they threw it all
- 56:03Speaker 4: in the yard.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Oh are you talking about this trash? Yes? Yeah, oh yeah,
- 56:08Speaker 2: that one.
- 56:09Speaker 1: That one. Yeah.
- 56:11Speaker 3: I didn't get a single trigger treater at my house
- 56:14Speaker 3: at all.
- 56:14Speaker 4: Wow.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:15Speaker 3: And it's been like that for years. But there's also
- 56:18Speaker 3: like a mega church right up the street from me,
- 56:20Speaker 3: and they do a trunk or treat every year, so
- 56:24Speaker 3: I'm thinking that's where they all go.
- 56:26Speaker 4: So do you live on an acreage or do you
- 56:27Speaker 4: have houses close.
- 56:28Speaker 3: By or it's a development houses all around?
- 56:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I live in a development, but we're like two
- 56:35Speaker 4: acre lots, so there's a bunch of.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Houses, right, friends, is my old ast parents give out nickels?
- 56:43Speaker 2: What Nichols.
- 56:47Speaker 4: Place must be hurting them because now they have to
- 56:49Speaker 4: give out nickels instead of pennies.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Yeah with the nickel now, yeah, not much like somebody.
- 57:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't remember the last time I even had change.
- 57:04Speaker 2: So nice.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Anything else you want to bring up?
- 57:09Speaker 4: Chaz Biz Well, I'm just hoping this season picks up
- 57:12Speaker 4: a little bit. It's been kind of been slacken a
- 57:14Speaker 4: little a little bit, so we have some more episodes
- 57:18Speaker 4: and hopefully this next one will. I want to get chuckle,
- 57:22Speaker 4: That's all I want, right.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they used to give out pennies in the eighties.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Yeah remember, well not in my neighborhoods. Yeah, get Easter
- 57:34Speaker 4: eggs and then have pennies in them, and you get
- 57:36Speaker 4: like doud jelly beans with black lickors, or you get pennies,
- 57:42Speaker 4: So I don't know which one.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Just put it right in the trash, Yeah, exactly where
- 57:49Speaker 3: it belongs.
- 57:50Speaker 2: And nowadays put put the penny in the trash with it.
- 57:56Speaker 3: That reminds me. I heard a new gen Z slang
- 58:00Speaker 3: term which is put the fries in the bag. And
- 58:03Speaker 3: it's it means when you want to dismiss somebody or
- 58:05Speaker 3: just be dismissed above them, just be like, just put
- 58:07Speaker 3: the fries in the bag.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Man, just put the in the bag.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Yeah, rambling, Just put the friese in the bag. Think
- 58:15Speaker 3: it's pretty great.
- 58:17Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, time talking to my niece and nephew, and
- 58:21Speaker 4: I said that to me. I'll remember that.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Yeah, now you know what it means.
- 58:25Speaker 4: Oh, I guess I'm rambling.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Okay, thank you?
- 58:28Speaker 4: Or do it to them?
- 58:29Speaker 3: Seems like you're cool. Yeah, yeah, these are going on.
- 58:34Speaker 4: He's like slang riz and you know, shipping and.
- 58:38Speaker 3: I'll give gibbity whatever.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Yeah the hell are they even talking about? So just stop.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Yeah, my son plays his video games, plays online video games,
- 58:52Speaker 2: and and so I hear him chatting with his friends
- 58:54Speaker 2: all the time, so hear all these things. Yeah, the
- 58:57Speaker 2: new one is chat chat chat means Hey, so you'll
- 59:02Speaker 2: start a setence with Chat, Let's go do such and such.
- 59:06Speaker 2: It's like, Hey, wow, do such and such.
- 59:08Speaker 3: Yep, that's okay.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Except so what's strange is for like the first week
- 59:16Speaker 2: he was doing it, I thought he was playing with
- 59:19Speaker 2: somebody named Chad. I thought he was like getting his Hey, Chad,
- 59:23Speaker 2: let's go do such and such.
- 59:26Speaker 3: All I forgot it. Skibbity toilet. That's skibbity toilet.
- 59:30Speaker 1: No, he wasn't talking about you.
- 59:37Speaker 4: The poor guy.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Brian is also shaking his cane at the kids and says, hey,
- 59:42Speaker 3: is shorter than Chat.
- 59:44Speaker 4: Yeah, so does Scott? Does Chad still have his pike
- 59:49Speaker 4: here day? Down there?
- 59:53Speaker 1: I can't really talk about it.
- 59:56Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 59:57Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't want to incriminate myself.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: Anybody see the clip for a Strange New Worlds this week?
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: I did not know.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: I did not I saw that there was.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: A new clip and I saw it and look pretty good.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: You know, it's definitely action.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I saw it. I saw it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: It's like it's O, don't know, it's so weird to
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: see Star Trek the way it's filmed. Now, I'm used.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: I don't know. I used to in the eighties and
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: nineties format not yeah, I know in the universe where
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: it's just like panoramic scene.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah too too.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Well, maybe The Orville will come back for another season
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: and we'll hopefully some of that.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Really there's gonna be like, you know, the smartest move
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: they could make is to bring you know, if they
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: did legacy, is to bring on some Orville writers. Yeah,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: because they're all Star Trek fans obviously. Yeah, right, McFarlane
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: be an executive producer.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: You know, you you had a show right there, You
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: had a pilot that was already given to you that
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: people wanted. Yeah, and you blew it. Yeah, you had
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: the showrunner, he had everything going for you.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: As lebar Burton says, that's the brain trift over there.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: Yeah, Paramount. I think whoever buys off Paramount's gonna sell
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: off chunks of it. Yeah, And whoever buys the Star
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Trek chunk, hopefully somebody is a fan, hopefully and not
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: like throws it in the dumpster and sells it for pennies.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: So and it goes that.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Brian says, way back in the day, he met Jeane
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: at a at a convention. His brain was something special.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: That's cool, that's really cool. Yeah, you know Roddenberry. Yeah
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: all right, Well it feels like we're kind of winded down.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you. We learned about Scott's.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Yep, that's right.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: And wreck them damn here kill them. Right.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I'm glad we started the show with that. We're ending
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: the show with that.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: There go as it should be. The circle of life. Yeah,
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: all right, Jess.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Kids, that's right, Eat more fiber.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. I have a couple of recommendations if I can.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: No, No, you've done enough.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: If I've got enough damage for one show, for one
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: entire podcast, you know you this is something up your wheelhouse, Dan,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I've been watching.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Uh, I don't want you to put anything up by anything.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: No, I got something to show you.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Oh no, I don't want you're.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: A Superman fan? Have you been watching?
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Uh? What's what's Superman?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Yeah? The things you have a tattoo of? Do you
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: have you been watching Superman? And lowis?
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: I have?
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I watched the first season and a half of it,
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: and my son and I meant to go back to it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: We haven't done back to it, but we fully intend to.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Okay, yeah. Uh for you guys, you're gonna have to
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: watch it on Max. It's not on you know. They
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: released new episodes on the CW.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: They're doing their fourth and final season yep, yeah, right now.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: So there's sort of doing a little bit of like
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you know, it's all over the promotional material. They're doing
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: the Dune's Day death the Superman storyline right now, and
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: it's uh, it's really good.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: It's very good.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Yeah. They they've introduced a new Lex Luthor who is
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: just absolutely brutal and yeah, and he's got that he's
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Lex Luthor. He's got that single minded no matter what
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: choice is presented to him, he's going to choose to
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: hate Superman.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Even though I haven't been watching it, I I
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: am aware of who the actor is that's playing lexuthright.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I can't remember his name, but he was on The
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Walking Dead. He was on Southland. I know who the
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: guy is. He was doing a very good job. Southland
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: was a very good show and they and they ended
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: they ended it in a cliffhanger and never resolved it.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, the with the producer that says what it is.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: But yeah, what's that.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I bet there's an interview with the producer that says
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: what the cliffhanger resolve would have been.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but yeah.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I hate that.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I hate when they ended the cliffhanger Legends of Tomorrow
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: they ended in a cliffhanger.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: And then.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: My other suggestion is I was just listening to it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: It's an older episode of Star Trek Star Trek Star
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson that's about two years old.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: He had LeVar Burton on. It was an amazing show.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Uh So, if you, if you, if anybody, I guess
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: everybody here does the podcast. Uh So, if you, if
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you do the podcast, look up LeVar Burton on Star
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson and it was a really
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: really good episode.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: So check it out.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Very cool.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: And also I hate to take up all this time,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: but also I'll the start of the Grand Raft Comic Con.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Uh yeah, coming up in two weeks. I'm gonna be
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: there Saturday and Sunday. I already h got an email
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: confirming my press passes, so.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I'll be there.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Do you know, like there's gonna be a lot of
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: different celebrities there. Do you know a celebrity named Rhino?
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Rhino, So yeah, what's the.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Great Dan, take a guess at what type of celebrity
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: this person is.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Rho wasn't he wasn't he in The Amazing Spider Man two?
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Uh so the picture they have of him, he looks
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: like a professional wrestler.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Indeed, he does an influencer.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he is an influence. Well, he looks like he's
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: about ready to influence this guy's face.
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: So yeah, he's going to be there.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Phil Lamar is going to be there. Let's see, d
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Wallace is going to be there, Denise Crosby, Danny Trehouse,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Walter Koenig is going to be there. From my experience
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: in the past, when the original series guys show up,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: it's there. They they don't do panels, they just they're
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: just there to collect their fifty dollars autographs. And then, uh,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Andrew Robinson will be there. So I did email the
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: producer of the comic con and I requested an interview
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: with Andrew Robinson. So I give it a five percent
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: chance it'll actually happen, but fingers crossed.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Okay, so two weeks hopefully hopefully. Yeah, all right, well
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: that pretty much wraps it up, so we'll see you
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: guys next week.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: All right, Thanks guys, bye bye.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: This is Captain Benjamin Cisco of Deep Space nine and
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: Space God to the Bajorans.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: I have a mission for you.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: This falls outside of Starfleet guidelines, so I can't order you,
