- 0:00Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekday. Smart Simone. Only on 710WOR. Hey, well,
- 0:11Speaker 1: during this break, we had two of our top engineers
- 0:14Speaker 1: working on the phones. Well, let's see. Let's see if
- 0:21Speaker 1: this was successful. First, I'll try the old-fashioned way. Jim
- 0:24Speaker 1: in New Jersey.
- 0:25Speaker 2: No. All right.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'll try the new way. Let's see if this works.
- 0:29Speaker 2: No.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Let's try Rob.
- 0:35Speaker 2: No.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I don't know why it doesn't work now. You guys
- 0:40Speaker 1: will have to pick it up in there. Let's go
- 0:41Speaker 1: to Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how you doing?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Two quick points. I think two of the best Yankee
- 0:48Speaker 3: announcers are still alive. They're in their 90s. One would
- 0:51Speaker 3: be Bill White and the other is Tony Kubik.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Tony Kubik is still alive?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yes, he is. Early 90s. Mark, I got a little confused.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You mentioned Manalapan. You know there is a Manalapan in
- 1:03Speaker 3: New Jersey, you know.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I'm talking about the good one.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Well, you know what the New Jersey one is famous for?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I hate to ask.
- 1:10Speaker 3: That's where the largest battle of the American Revolution was there,
- 1:13Speaker 3: the Battle of Monmouth. Molly Pitcher.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Well, we like Manalapan in New Jersey, but there's a
- 1:20Speaker 1: Manalapan right below Palm Beach. It's very, very hot right now,
- 1:24Speaker 1: real estate-wise. All right, thanks for calling. Hey, you know
- 1:29Speaker 1: who I saw last night? Uncle Junior. Dominic Chianese. He's
- 1:33Speaker 1: got to be like 95. He was out having dinner.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Very good shape. Let's go to... Oh, hey, I got
- 1:41Speaker 1: it that time. Let's go to Bob in Long Island. Bob,
- 1:43Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 1:45Speaker 3: All right, Bob. Go Buchanan, go Buchanan.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yes, the Buchanan guy. All right, let's see. All right,
- 1:50Speaker 1: now here's the problem. I can't hang up. That's the problem.
- 1:54Speaker 1: The hang up button doesn't work. Can you get rid
- 1:57Speaker 1: of Bob in there? We're trying to get our phones working.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Let's try Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph, how are you doing?
- 2:07Speaker 2: You know, Mark, if Hochul wins again, you know that
- 2:10Speaker 2: New York is through. I mean, Blakeman just proposed something
- 2:14Speaker 2: so brilliant and so great for New York. If they
- 2:18Speaker 2: turn around and reject him, It's all over, Mark.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I hate to break it to you. It's bad if
- 2:24Speaker 1: she wins, but it's not all over. It's not through.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Everything will be fine. We've survived everything. Jimmy Carter, Joe Biden.
- 2:31Speaker 1: It's not.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I get what you mean. I'm a little I'm a
- 2:34Speaker 2: little drastic, but it's unbelievable how they keep voting for
- 2:38Speaker 2: people that have no clue whatsoever. I mean, she was the,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you know, the the carry the water for our friend, Dr.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Cuomo back in the old days, and she surged to
- 2:49Speaker 2: such high levels as such a... I mean, I don't
- 2:51Speaker 2: understand why people can ever even praise her in any way, shape,
- 2:55Speaker 2: or form.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Well, I can explain it, but thanks for calling. You know,
- 2:59Speaker 1: the problem is most people don't get any real news.
- 3:02Speaker 1: They'll read the New York Times, they'll watch MSNBC, so
- 3:05Speaker 1: they'll never hear all the bad stuff that these people do.
- 3:08Speaker 1: They'll never hear the real story about anything. You know,
- 3:13Speaker 1: Cuomo did so much damage to us with the no bail,
- 3:15Speaker 1: no jail, with the closing Indian Point, with the closing
- 3:19Speaker 1: of prisons, letting all the prisoners out. I mean, you
- 3:21Speaker 1: can go on and on. But one of them, don't
- 3:24Speaker 1: forget one of them, he's the guy that picked Kathy Hochul.
- 3:27Speaker 1: He's the guy that chose Kathy Hochul for us. Let's
- 3:30Speaker 1: see if I can try this one. No, it doesn't work.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You got to do it. Rob in Franklin Square. Rob,
- 3:35Speaker 1: how you doing? Hi, Mark.
- 3:36Speaker 4: You know, you can blame the judges on these. That
- 3:40Speaker 4: should be summarily dismissed, what they didn't prove the case
- 3:43Speaker 4: with the, you know, it's so stupid with the old
- 3:45Speaker 4: coots thing. But can I mention something about Comics Unleashed?
- 3:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Comics Unleashed. Very good show.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Byron Allen.
- 3:53Speaker 4: You know, over the 20 years, but they only did
- 3:56Speaker 4: four seasons, though.
- 3:57Speaker 1: No, no.
- 3:58Speaker 4: 2006.
- 3:59Speaker 1: They've done tons of seasons. They do take some time.
- 4:02Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Let's get this guy off the air. We can't broadcast
- 4:05Speaker 1: false information. They've done plenty of seasons. Comics Unleashed. It's
- 4:10Speaker 1: a very good show. It's on CBS every night now
- 4:13Speaker 1: at 1130 on CBS. It replaced Colbert, and it's doing
- 4:17Speaker 1: much better than Colbert. In fact, in the most important thing,
- 4:21Speaker 1: which is the 18 to 49 demo, it is wiping
- 4:25Speaker 1: out Kimmel Anne Fallon. It's pretty amazing. Comics Unleashed. What's today? Wednesday?
- 4:33Speaker 1: In fact, tomorrow night, my friend Dave Koenig is on.
- 4:35Speaker 1: A very good comedian. He'll be on Comics Unleashed tomorrow night.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Take a look at it. In fact, it's doing so
- 4:41Speaker 1: well that CBS is going to do a primetime special,
- 4:46Speaker 1: an hour of Comics Unleashed. This is Byron Allen, the
- 4:49Speaker 1: comedian who became a producer, a businessman, went from comedian
- 4:55Speaker 1: to to making himself a billion dollars. He's a billionaire.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I can't think of any other, maybe Cosby, comedian that
- 5:02Speaker 1: became a billionaire. Oh, Seinfeld, but it's very, very few.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's a short list. So the thing about Comics Unleashed,
- 5:08Speaker 1: there's no political jokes of any kind and no topical jokes.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So they could take a show from five years ago
- 5:16Speaker 1: to 15 years ago and run it today. They're as
- 5:19Speaker 1: fresh as can be. They're in syndication all over the place. Hey,
- 5:23Speaker 1: when we come back, We'll take a look at the midterms.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's only 34 days away. It's like one month till
- 5:30Speaker 1: the midterms. What can Republicans do? Where does it really stand?
- 5:34Speaker 1: We'll talk to the dean himself, the great political analyst,
- 5:37Speaker 1: Ed Rollins. We'll talk to him next on 710WOR. Mark
- 5:42Speaker 1: Simone here. Three hours every day. Don't forget, three hours.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We start at 9 a.m. It's 9 to noon every day.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And it's an action-packed first hour. Make sure you don't
- 5:51Speaker 1: miss the first hour.
