- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:08UNKNOWN: Hello.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Welcome to your Hello Haven Mavens podcast.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: My name is Candice Smiling.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I'm Laura Lee Harrison.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: We're very excited to have you joining us today.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: We have got an incredible little mini series and We are so excited to be introducing you to amazing speakers and people who just inspire us.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So we're going to invite you to sit back, relax, grab a cup of coffee or maybe a glass of wine and join us as we take you on a great little venture into people's lives who inspire us.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: So you know what, it's been exciting.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: This feels like it's going to be right at the very end of our mini-series.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: I'm quite excited to be introducing you to a woman who has been a huge part of my, certainly my spiritual journey, as well as someone I've always looked up to.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: For those of you maybe pitching us for the very first time, this is Candice Smiley with my co-host, Laura Lee Harrison, and we do this thing called Hello Haven May and we just are in the middle maybe we just finished up but we've been really focusing on a bit of a mini series where we have interviewed people who inspire us and we're very very grateful for the people who have come alongside of us men and women and we've interviewed some really neat people and I think it's crazy because we've said this over and over and over again we seem to get the most value out of what we get the opportunity to share so we're hoping that you as our listeners are also getting that Feel free to comment, like, share, include.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: We're always looking for a tribe.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And so today, we have got a woman I very much believe is part of my tribe.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And so, Lil, we'd love to have you come on and just share with our listeners a bit about your story.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Who are you?
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I think that would be a great place for us to start today.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Who am I?
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm still figuring that out.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I have been on this amazing self-discovery journey where I've really been digging deep over the last three years.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: I have been focusing on it and really getting into this new science.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Joe Dispenza, listening to a lot of him, Greg Graydon, Bruce Lipton, all of those guys.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And just...
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: learning so much about it's all about us in the end it really is all about us and that connection that we have to our true self and when you achieve that connection um you just get to this place of total contentment and it's absolutely beautiful and you just you feel love on a whole new level and it gets deeper and stronger and wider I love that.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And I love, you know, because Laura Lee and I have had the privilege of, you know, orchestrating this mini series.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: And so we have heard a very similar message throughout the series, which has been just grateful for us to share.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And so, Lil, talk to us a little bit about your journey in business, because I know that you have really been focusing about that recalibration piece.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: That's something I observe.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And maybe I'm totally off base, But what I observe from you is you are not afraid to do the recalibration of, I tried this, and I'm going to do this.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: I tried this, and this feels so good.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And I tried this, and wow, this is really the path I want to go.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: And I love that about you, because I feel like you've been able to quiet that egoic mind that gets in the way of so many people actually getting out of their comfort zones and trying something new or doing that thing, which they're pretty sure will light them up.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I've...
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've learned a lot of lessons for sure because I mean when I, and I still am doing Tender Loving Cups, I've been stepping back from it here over the past six months.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: And that was, so Tender Loving Cups is a company I started from scratch.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: It's bras.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: and i started that when i saw the need for it i took my daughter shopping for her first bra and i was trying to make it a good experience and i couldn't it took us a day and a half and i was like this is ridiculous because this is a necessity for women and um i've always hated bra shopping and here i am a generation later we're having the same issue for something that's a necessity for us so i um yeah i started up tender loving cups And really coming from a service point, I was here to help women.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: And that was the biggest fulfillment I got out of that business was, I mean, there's nothing sweeter than putting a bra on a lady and she looks in the mirror and goes, holy shit.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And I learned so much because there's a whole emotional side.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: to having a properly fitting bra.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: And people telling you guys that.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: On all levels, on all levels.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: And, you know, something as simple as your shoulder, your strap always falling down your shoulder.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: And, you know, and I realized that when I was at a networking breakfast thing.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: And that morning I was in a hurry and, you know, ran out the door, grabbed an old bra and I'm sitting in this meeting.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden I noticed my shoulder on my strap.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: And, of course, as a bra shop owner, that's not a good thing.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: But I felt I couldn't even carry on a conversation because I was so focused on, is my strap showing?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Is my strap showing?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And, you know, when someone would ask me a question, I couldn't even, like, I just wanted to get out of there.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I couldn't wait for the meeting to be over and get out of there.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: And that was one of my big realizations of how important it is to be comfortable with yourself.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And, like, it was such a distraction and that was such a simple thing.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Well I like that you brought it up because I've also worked in a bra shop and it was really empowering honestly to realize you know that that supported piece right and this is such a huge part of you know women we've been fighting for a long time to you know fall in love with ourselves and there are very simple things we can do like getting fitted by a very compassionate person to help us find a bra that fits and it's a powerful thing when you feel like the girls are supportive right on a mental level and unconscious level and so I think that that's really neat what you you chose to take on because I know there's going to be women who are like nodding their heads right now and reaching for their bra straps because they're in the wrong fitting bra you know so this is an ongoing issue and I know too that led you into other things talk to us about that transition and being brave enough and so therefore having the courage to say hmm right well and I had an interesting thing happen because I went through, it was last summer, where my stomach started acting up.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: And I went to the conventional Western medicine, went through all the tests and everything, and in the end I ended up getting diagnosed with diverticulitis, which is basically polyps on the intestines.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: But when it would flare up, I would be in bed up to three days.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And it was like I was going through a depression too because I didn't have energy.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I did not know what was going on.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: And so anyway, after all the tests, the ultrasounds and everything, they diagnosed me with diverticulitis.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: And then I decided to go see Michelle, who I see for muscle testing, which is a holistic modality.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And basically it's your body talking through your muscles tense up and so your body gives you a clear yes or no.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: And Michelle's really good at what she does.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: She gets to the right questions.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: She's phenomenal.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: So it turned out though that my diverticulitis was 95% emotional.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: And the reason for it was because I wasn't in alignment with my soul's purpose.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: My soul's purpose is to be coaching others and I have been on this journey of just digging deep and looking for what is my purpose.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And yeah, that just blew me away that that was the reason of it because so how it was described to me is that I've been on this journey and I've been clearing the path.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: I've been paving the path.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: with my own experience of digging deep on myself.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: And now that I've gotten to this point, it's time for me to help others on their path.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And my body was telling me that I, you know, and in that session, I also was guided to step back from bras and step into the coaching field.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: And then what ended up happening was I lacked the confidence to actually go into the coaching field.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: And so I started looking for something that gave me the certification because I thought, okay, I need a certification.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And that's actually where now I'm doing the Q process.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: And I'm just in the final stages of getting my certification for it.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: And this is also another amazing process because you do the work yourself.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: It's all about connecting with yourself.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And how you do it is you go through your triggers.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So anything that happened like in the last 48 hours, like somebody cut you off in traffic and it ticked you off, you go through that trigger and that's your doorway to to finding the root in your subconscious.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And it's really important that you stay in the feelings.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: You get out of the story and you go into the feelings.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: And it's amazing when you slow down your mind so that you can actually listen to your body.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: And the memory comes up of when was the first time you ever felt that feeling that you just had in this recent trigger.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: And that original incident will just, it pops in your head.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And what you do is you go back and you reframe that original incident.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And you're reframing it, coming through the compassion.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: And you're dealing directly with your inner child.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: and because those triggers are actually your inner child speaking up because that's a part of you that was never healed from that original incident that's still your inner child popping up and saying you know listen to me i have these i've never been healed and so you go back to that incident you reframe that experience and you do it on a totally a very very deep level And with that reframing of it, you're rewiring your cells on that cellular level.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: And like I have, I've healed my relationship with my mom who passed away like in 06.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: I never had a good relationship with her.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Now, when I think about her, I just, I get warm and fuzzy all over.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I have a deep love for her.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: And I've...
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: You know, I feel that part of me that was hurt.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: So, and you know, I keep relearning this, but it is, it's all about us.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: And you, I had another incident that happened just a few weeks ago.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: where I had some packages stolen off of our front steps.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And I know they were stolen because Michael found the empty boxes a few blocks away.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And one of the packages was some dehydrated food.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: And you know, I never got pissed off.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: I was annoyed for a couple of minutes.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And then my default reaction was compassion.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: And what automatically came to me was, you know, what if that was the best meal that that person has had in a long time?
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: And it totally took away any anger or any hatred or anything.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: It was taking you to that piece of deep love and compassion for humanity.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: And you know what it is?
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: It's all about us.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And it's about filling yourself.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: with your own connection to yourself and but when you fill yourself up with that it starts overflowing and that's actually how you influence others around you is from that overflow not from digging deep from an empty place and you're still trying to give but you have nothing to give because you've just given it and given and given and given um you know in western society we have been um You know, it's wrong to do things for yourself.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: It's selfish.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And we have been taken in such the opposite direction of what we need to be.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And it's so cool that science is now starting to show, you know, the vagus nerve.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: That's your connection with your heart and your mind.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: And when you show compassion, that's what triggers your vagus nerve.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: When 9-1-1 happened, there is a field around the Earth.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: It's an energetic field.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: And the government studies this all the time.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: When 9-1-1 happened, there was a shift in energy in that field.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And the shift was caused by everybody feeling compassion.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: It happened about 15 minutes after The first strike was hit on the tower and that's when the news got out to everybody and the world felt this deep level of compassion for what happened.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: And it shifted the field around in our atmosphere.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Isn't that amazing?
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: It is, it is.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: you know, Laura Lee and I were sitting and we literally were just like looking at each other because the synchronicities we've seen in this eight week or might be 11 week at this point, mini series, this mini series, the overlap, without ever gathering together or even, and you know this, right?
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Before we started, we gave you the idea, and then we said, off we go, and we've been talking.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, when you get a chance to listen, you're going to be like, wow, synchronicity here, right?
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And I think the same thing, because they actually said that there's been a shift.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: There was a shift in World War II.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Yep, yep.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Carolyn Mace talked about that.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Exactly, because everybody was like, if we don't start to make a shift, there isn't going to be a world.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: And so it's been, it's really neat.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And like you say, science is starting to recognize and to realize and to acknowledge, which I think is a really powerful, powerful place.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Now, you've shared with us some amazing, amazing things here, Lil.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: Now, for the woman or man who's standing there listening, probably multitasking, maybe stopped and was thinking about where they were.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: in 9-11.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: I know where I was when 9-11 happened.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And so let's, you know, if you could leave our listeners with one piece, what would that one piece be?
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: And how can they get in touch with you?
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: If someone's like, I need more of this, I need direction, I need some guidance, I need to know how I can find the same piece that I can very clearly hear in your voicemail.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Do what's right for you.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Listen to your gut.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: We have an energetic body just like we have our physical body, but there's also an energetic body.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And our energetic body, that it's part of us, it talks to us through our intuition.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: When your gut tells you something, don't question it.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Go with it.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: It's always gonna give you the right information because it's the right information for you.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: It's when we start getting our fear involved in it or what will someone else think, then you're getting your mind involved.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: That's not your heart.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: That's not your soul.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Listen to your soul.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: And I mean, I think that's the biggest thing I've ever done for myself and now for others connect with you connect with yourself on that deep level um like i said you know when i had that diverticulitis it's because i wasn't in alignment with my soul and thank goodness i was lucky enough to and not lucky because luck is not a word i don't like that word at all um everything happens for a reason We are our soul is always trying to talk to us.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: It's always we're here to enjoy life We're here to have a great time not suffer we do that to ourselves and Just getting beyond all those beliefs because really you got to get to the core of where that belief came from Heal it and start living life on your own terms because let me there's there's so much involved with that just aligning your chakras and everything um when it's not in alignment you're all over the place uh when you're in alignment things go smooth that's how life is supposed to be and when things do when does happen because it does happen it's usually you know Your soul's trying to give you a message there.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: So listen, not run from it.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: It's not a challenge.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: It is an opportunity for you to learn and embrace that opportunity.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: That's my advice.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you so much for that.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I definitely resonate with that.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: I know Candice resonates with that.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: And we feel absolutely honored that you have joined us today.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Now we are up to our time.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: So I think with that, we are going to let you go.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: And again, thank you so much for joining us.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And thank you for the opportunity for me to share, too, because this is really important.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: And I know so many people are lost.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: The answer is within you.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: And only you know.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: So you just need the guidance to get to it.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: That's all.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: And Loralee, we looked at each other and Loralee said, I would really love to have you on again.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: And I agree with that, Bill.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, you and I know this.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: You and I get to spend time together on your deck, enjoying the beautiful swing and the sun.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: And so we would love to extend an invitation out to you.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: We'll have you on again and continue this conversation because I agree.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: I think people are looking for something.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: And this was a really powerful conversation.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: So thank you for that, for being a part of our podcast today.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: We're going to let you go again.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, thank you.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: For our listeners.
