New body cam footage from the July 12th Gaithersburg shooting reveals the tense moments before police fatally shot 46-year-old Elliott Powers at a bus stop near Montgomery Village Plaza. Officers from both Montgomery County and Gaithersburg PD had been negotiating with Powers for 10 minutes after receiving reports of an armed man. The video captures Powers seated as officers demand he show his hands and drop the weapon, with repeated pleas for him to comply. No other injuries were reported.
