- 0:44Speaker 3: number three of oh t B. I just realized that
- 0:48Speaker 3: it's Tuesday at uh at nine.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Oh so I got a call Nick. Yeah, I'm on holidays.
- 0:56Speaker 5: I'm on holiday too.
- 0:57Speaker 4: It feels like what's our Thursday technic?
- 1:00Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:02Speaker 5: So we're gonna have our gut Nick Underhill, New Orleans.
- 1:04Speaker 5: That football? Did we all forget? Maybe he's nine, always
- 1:12Speaker 5: been nine? Yeah? Saints fifteen Monday.
- 1:17Speaker 3: All right, the Saints, Saints, Saints. This off season should
- 1:28Speaker 3: be pretty intriguing for the old New Orleans Saints. There's
- 1:35Speaker 3: so many needs. Yeah, there's no you can't win this offseason.
- 1:40Speaker 3: There's no way to win the off season for the Saints.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You can be like, oh, that's a good move, but
- 1:46Speaker 3: will we make a good move?
- 1:50Speaker 6: I got Nick?
- 1:51Speaker 5: All right, let's go to the phones.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Now we've got Nick Underhill, New Orleans Dots Football joining
- 1:56Speaker 3: us to talk.
- 1:57Speaker 5: New Orleans Saints. Yes, that New Orleans Saints. Nicholas, what's
- 2:01Speaker 5: up brother, that we be doing?
- 2:03Speaker 2: You know, I'm a consumer of the show as well
- 2:05Speaker 2: as a contributor. I'm a little hurt. I'm a little hurt.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Oh what wow? Forgetting it was Tuesday?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, a little bit, A little bit. I
- 2:14Speaker 2: mean I bet no though, so I guess we're even.
- 2:16Speaker 7: So yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's cold.
- 2:20Speaker 3: When I say I had literally no idea that today
- 2:23Speaker 3: was Tuesday.
- 2:26Speaker 5: I mean, like no idea holiday week.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Look, we're in coaching rumor pergat. I mean, we got
- 2:33Speaker 3: a foot out the door. We don't have to work
- 2:34Speaker 3: on Thursday and Friday. Nick, that's on me. I'll pat
- 2:36Speaker 3: my chest. I'll pat my chest.
- 2:38Speaker 5: That's on me. Gotta be better, gotta be better. Uh,
- 2:42Speaker 5: there's a lot of got to be better for the Saints.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, man, I all jokes aside, Like I felt
- 2:49Speaker 3: good about this game. I'm like, I look out, I
- 2:51Speaker 3: know Kirk Thuggans is playing, and that's actually probably better
- 2:54Speaker 3: than Pinnix at this point.
- 2:55Speaker 5: But you're at home.
- 2:57Speaker 3: You got some juice from the last game, you got
- 3:01Speaker 3: a bye week, You're going to be ready for this game,
- 3:03Speaker 3: and my, ow my, was I wrong. I thought that
- 3:05Speaker 3: game was going to go completely different than it did.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Nick, Yeah, I'm with you. I was a little bit
- 3:11Speaker 2: surprised they came out and looked so flat again to
- 3:13Speaker 2: start the game. I mean, there's just stuff here that
- 3:15Speaker 2: I just you know, I think we're starting to reach
- 3:17Speaker 2: one where it just feels like it's probably not going
- 3:19Speaker 2: to get fixed. You know.
- 3:22Speaker 7: I don't like, I don't like a lot of what
- 3:23Speaker 7: they're doing right now.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I don't know where I want to start rinting. But
- 3:26Speaker 2: I mean, look, I'm curious. So you guys think about
- 3:28Speaker 2: on this too, Like.
- 3:31Speaker 7: It's kind of inconceivable to me that you're.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Trying to find out what you got with your young
- 3:36Speaker 2: quarterback and you line up fifteen times in the red
- 3:39Speaker 2: zone and your rookie quarterback doesn't get a single red
- 3:43Speaker 2: zone passing attempt the whole game. Like, there's a lot
- 3:46Speaker 2: of guys that are great between the twenties, like Jimmy
- 3:49Speaker 2: Garoppolo and Drew Brees basically have the same exact numbers
- 3:53Speaker 2: quarterback rating, completion percent the yearge per attempt, touchdowns, interception
- 3:59Speaker 2: ratio between the twenties, and then you get to the
- 4:01Speaker 2: last twenty and Drew takes off to another stratus here
- 4:05Speaker 2: and Jimmy Groppolo goes to the other direction, Like you.
- 4:07Speaker 7: Got to find out if you got a Drew or
- 4:09Speaker 7: a Jimmy, Like I don't get it, Like it's just
- 4:12Speaker 7: kind of.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You need to evaluate this stuff.
- 4:13Speaker 7: And it just doesn't like some of the stuff they're.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Doing, just like it as a philosophy doesn't fully add
- 4:21Speaker 2: up to me. Like you're you're getting guys on the
- 4:24Speaker 2: field for development, You're you're cycling in Danny Stutzman, you're
- 4:28Speaker 2: trading RASHIII, you're Grant and Brandon Cooks's release, like all
- 4:31Speaker 2: these things signal, rebuild, develop, evaluation, and then like at
- 4:36Speaker 2: the most important spot, like you're just gripping so tight
- 4:39Speaker 2: to what is he thirty five? A thirty five year
- 4:41Speaker 2: old player that's thirty six year old. I don't know
- 4:44Speaker 2: what he is whatever, whatever it is, he's probably not
- 4:45Speaker 2: gonna be on your team next year, So like let
- 4:48Speaker 2: let him throw the ball down there a couple of times,
- 4:50Speaker 2: like yeah, run it from the walmat, taste them that whatever.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Like that. That's fine, But like I think you got
- 4:54Speaker 2: to cycle in a couple a couple of plates just
- 4:57Speaker 2: to see if he can like perform in these tie
- 4:59Speaker 2: levers to situations.
- 5:00Speaker 7: And I go so far as to say that this
- 5:02Speaker 7: isn't even.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Like results space for me, Like I think an incompletion
- 5:06Speaker 2: from Tyler Shuck could potentially carry more value than a
- 5:09Speaker 2: positive play that from Tasom in that area the field,
- 5:11Speaker 2: because he can learn from it and grow. And I
- 5:13Speaker 2: think that's really what it should be about. But it's
- 5:15Speaker 2: just weird that, like all of a sudden, like like
- 5:17Speaker 2: in some areas, like you're pressing so hard, but then
- 5:20Speaker 2: on the other like you're still sticking with the kicker
- 5:22Speaker 2: who's already missed six kicks, he misses two more, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: like over here you're fine with sacrificing points in the
- 5:29Speaker 2: spirit of development, but over here with the quarterback, you aren't.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I don't know, it doesn't It just doesn't make sense
- 5:34Speaker 2: to me as a philosophy.
- 5:35Speaker 8: To your point, it's the there's two there's conflicting philosophies
- 5:40Speaker 8: in the game. Because in one hand, you're saying, we're
- 5:42Speaker 8: trying to win the game, because I think this Taysom
- 5:44Speaker 8: hillpackage gives us the best best chance of pick up
- 5:46Speaker 8: a first down or score a touchdown. We're not trying
- 5:49Speaker 8: to necessarily do develop somebody who thinking be good. But
- 5:52Speaker 8: on the kicking game, you're like, we're not trying to
- 5:55Speaker 8: win games because we don't care if he misses. We
- 5:57Speaker 8: want to see what we got in the kicker. So
- 6:00Speaker 8: it's completely conflicting ideologies, which is wild to me, Like what,
- 6:04Speaker 8: like where is the disconnect from whatever the powers would be,
- 6:08Speaker 8: the owner of the GM, the head coach, Like why
- 6:12Speaker 8: isn't that making more sense?
- 6:15Speaker 2: It blows my mind. And that's all I want is
- 6:18Speaker 2: like for everything they're doing to paint one picture, you're
- 6:20Speaker 2: moving one direction signify I.
- 6:22Speaker 8: Think, I think it would be fine with one way
- 6:24Speaker 8: or the other. If you're trying to win the games, fine,
- 6:27Speaker 8: or if you're trying to get ready for the future
- 6:28Speaker 8: or see what you got, then that's a totally different philosophy,
- 6:31Speaker 8: Like just pick one or the other.
- 6:32Speaker 6: But they're doing two different things.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and if that's the case, and like maybe you
- 6:37Speaker 2: shouldn't have granted the release to Brandan Cooks and you
- 6:40Speaker 2: know some of this other stuff where it's just like yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 2: that makes sense, Like, yeah, you probably shouldn't be here,
- 6:44Speaker 2: you probably should be looking for for the future. Brandon
- 6:47Speaker 2: Cooks probably doesn't fit this.
- 6:48Speaker 7: But and again, like I'm okay with.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Some of the taste some stuff like you get to
- 6:52Speaker 2: the one, no big deal to me. I don't even
- 6:54Speaker 2: really like, you know, the Taysom runs all I get
- 6:57Speaker 2: in the in the midfield area because like they don't
- 7:00Speaker 2: really do anything to help your your quarterback. Like it's
- 7:04Speaker 2: like me and triple A battle over this all the time,
- 7:06Speaker 2: and he's like, well, it's the same as a handle.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I argue that it isn't because you can't like run
- 7:10Speaker 2: play action off it. You aren't doing any looks off
- 7:12Speaker 2: of that. You aren't doing it's just literally trying to
- 7:14Speaker 2: get yards without shuck and there's no benefit to him
- 7:17Speaker 2: on it. But especially like done in the red zone,
- 7:19Speaker 2: those high leverage areas. And they were kind of doing
- 7:21Speaker 2: the same thing to Rattler, like we were talking about
- 7:24Speaker 2: I can't remember what game it was, but.
- 7:26Speaker 7: It Taysom came in, he scored a touch on it.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Like I hated that. Like I hated it because like
- 7:31Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 7:31Speaker 7: Leading into it, we're like, yeah, we got to find.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Out what Rattler can do in the red zone, like
- 7:35Speaker 2: something stuff looks good, but he needs to show growth
- 7:37Speaker 2: here and like that's going to be what determined success
- 7:39Speaker 2: or failure for him. And like off the field he
- 7:41Speaker 2: goes and he doesn't have the chance, And it's just
- 7:45Speaker 2: what is this season about? Like is it is it?
- 7:47Speaker 2: Is it wins over everything?
- 7:48Speaker 7: Or is it the other thing?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Is everything else you're doing except for that one thing
- 7:51Speaker 2: is painting a different picture. So yeah, just one philosophy.
- 7:55Speaker 7: And I can get my head around it and then.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I'll evaluate it through that. But I just don't want
- 7:59Speaker 2: to be com used of what I'm looking at.
- 8:01Speaker 8: You got to you gotta be careful too, Like if
- 8:03Speaker 8: you're because from a quarterback play all year, Yeah, I
- 8:06Speaker 8: would say Chuck and Spencer are both played very comparable. Right,
- 8:10Speaker 8: It's like everybody like it's not their fault, like either
- 8:14Speaker 8: one of them were saying it's not the quarterback position,
- 8:16Speaker 8: but like, yeah, you get it, you're not winning games.
- 8:18Speaker 8: But like Saints got to be careful, Like if they
- 8:20Speaker 8: think that Shuck could be their guy of getting the
- 8:22Speaker 8: same stigma that Rattler's getting a being what two and
- 8:25Speaker 8: ten or whatever he is of like having a bad
- 8:27Speaker 8: losing record, then all of a sudden Saints fans and
- 8:29Speaker 8: people are like, well, I don't want that.
- 8:30Speaker 6: I've already seen it. I've already seen what he can do.
- 8:32Speaker 8: He's only won one game and he's played started eight
- 8:34Speaker 8: or nine times, like the same thing's gonna happen. It's
- 8:37Speaker 8: like it's such an unfair comparison for Chuck and Rattler
- 8:40Speaker 8: because of the way that they're playing, Like you're not
- 8:43Speaker 8: getting a true look at who that they could be one.
- 8:47Speaker 7: Hundred percent, and like that that's the whole thing. Like
- 8:49Speaker 7: we could be sitting here at the end of the
- 8:50Speaker 7: season and be like, man, I don't know, Like there's
- 8:52Speaker 7: so there's.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Some blind spots here. I didn't see everything I needed
- 8:55Speaker 2: to see. The h is terrible in the red zone
- 8:58Speaker 2: and look some stuff, but like there was a lot
- 9:01Speaker 2: of throwaways at Louisville, Like there's things that I want
- 9:04Speaker 2: to see down in that area to field, Like I
- 9:06Speaker 2: just don't want to be here January.
- 9:08Speaker 7: And it's like, well, I don't.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Know, like.
- 9:11Speaker 7: Do they have the guy or not?
- 9:12Speaker 2: Like it should be a definitive answer. So every opportunity
- 9:14Speaker 2: you have to, as they say, collect collect information, Like
- 9:19Speaker 2: you need to be collecting that information. So I hope
- 9:23Speaker 2: they do something different, but I don't know, Like this
- 9:25Speaker 2: is just kind of a messod operation the whole year,
- 9:29Speaker 2: and it's I don't know if they're telling us they
- 9:31Speaker 2: don't believe in the quarterback or what, but like it's
- 9:34Speaker 2: it's just a very weird way to go about business,
- 9:36Speaker 2: especially when like it seems like there should be no
- 9:38Speaker 2: pressure on them to win games. Like I can't imagine
- 9:41Speaker 2: they're sitting up there in the front office and like
- 9:42Speaker 2: stepping on his neck right now, I think everybody knows
- 9:45Speaker 2: what it is. So just very very very odd to
- 9:48Speaker 2: me that that one area just seems to be completely
- 9:51Speaker 2: disconnected from the rest of epecture.
- 9:53Speaker 8: In the NFL. You cannot lean on. Yeah, I don't
- 9:56Speaker 8: trust the quarterback. Look at the Panthers are doing. They
- 9:58Speaker 8: can't trust Bryce Young and they still got five wins
- 10:01Speaker 8: because they at least still put the ball in this say,
- 10:03Speaker 8: and they did it on first down yesterday on the
- 10:04Speaker 8: one yard line in the first drive of the game
- 10:07Speaker 8: for them, and he does an interception. Like they can't
- 10:09Speaker 8: trust that guy, but they still keep doing it, and
- 10:11Speaker 8: what going happens?
- 10:12Speaker 6: They got at least.
- 10:13Speaker 8: Have five wins, yes, and Ratler are better players at
- 10:18Speaker 8: Bryce Young.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Let's let's let's call it what it.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Is, one hundred percent like the taste some stuff isn't
- 10:24Speaker 2: even working, which makes it even worse. The first play
- 10:26Speaker 2: they ran like just completely I don't like. So you're
- 10:29Speaker 2: gonna you're gonna run taste them out.
- 10:31Speaker 6: To the right.
- 10:31Speaker 7: You're gonna have the bon bley on the only route
- 10:33Speaker 7: on the play.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And if everybody doesn't bite on, Taysom and Davon is
- 10:36Speaker 2: wide open in the in the back corner of the
- 10:38Speaker 2: end zone. The play fails. Like I don't even understand, So.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Like, let me, let me see shuck, just sit back there.
- 10:44Speaker 2: And just you know, go through three reasons, see you
- 10:46Speaker 2: can get the ball out or something like. It just
- 10:48Speaker 2: feels it just I don't know, but I just I
- 10:51Speaker 2: can't stay on watching. It drives me crazy, all right.
- 10:54Speaker 3: So we got to ask you about the the kicker
- 10:56Speaker 3: situation as well. I mean, groupie, just look it is
- 10:59Speaker 3: what it is, not a good NFL kicker.
- 11:01Speaker 5: He misses yet again.
- 11:03Speaker 3: And so you try a couple of kickers out justin
- 11:06Speaker 3: Tucker and Cade York and obviously you know both those
- 11:09Speaker 3: names in Louisiana are going to bring headlines for different reasons.
- 11:12Speaker 5: What's the latest day with the kicking situation?
- 11:15Speaker 2: Oh god, please Kate York Like it's two and nine, Like,
- 11:19Speaker 2: you don't need to you don't need to introduce anything that. Look,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I think right now the Stints are a very hard
- 11:24Speaker 2: team to like. Their fans, you know, they they they're
- 11:27Speaker 2: You're asking a lot of them, like to ride through
- 11:29Speaker 2: this to show up to cheer.
- 11:30Speaker 7: It is like the last thing you want to do.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And look, I know, I.
- 11:33Speaker 7: Know some people are going to care and some people aren't.
- 11:35Speaker 2: In their allegations, nothing's with the court like blanket the
- 11:38Speaker 2: whole thing, But like forcing anybody to sit down and
- 11:41Speaker 2: be like, do I feel okay about this guy scoring
- 11:44Speaker 2: points in a two and nine season? Like, it just
- 11:46Speaker 2: doesn't It doesn't make sense. I don't understand even getting
- 11:50Speaker 2: in the vicinity of something that can bring a negative
- 11:53Speaker 2: headline when you're two and nine, if you want to
- 11:55Speaker 2: sell your soul to the devil, if you're the broncos
- 11:57Speaker 2: in you're nine and two and you want to make
- 11:59Speaker 2: a wild time, I think, I guess, But like I
- 12:02Speaker 2: feel like one of the benefits of being a bad team.
- 12:05Speaker 7: Is there's you don't have to do right of that,
- 12:08Speaker 7: Like you're two and.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Nine, just stay away from it.
- 12:10Speaker 7: Sign the twenty four he's thirty six in here, Like
- 12:12Speaker 7: where are you going with this? Like, so you're gonna
- 12:15Speaker 7: sign a guy that.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Brings negative headlines? I hit seventy three percent of his
- 12:19Speaker 2: kicks last year. Wasn't even you know, a high level
- 12:21Speaker 2: player groupies at sixty nine? I mean sure, justin Tucker,
- 12:25Speaker 2: you can tell me he comes back and doesn't miss
- 12:27Speaker 2: a kick the rest of the year. Great, let him
- 12:29Speaker 2: do it somewhere else. Like I don't understand getting around
- 12:32Speaker 2: this one either, Like it's just like why are you
- 12:34Speaker 2: doing this?
- 12:34Speaker 7: Like it I couldn't believe it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I was. I was shocked, like just on the level
- 12:39Speaker 2: of I don't know man, like you're gonna do something
- 12:42Speaker 2: like that that feels kind of gross. Just it just
- 12:45Speaker 2: doesn't make sense in this this.
- 12:47Speaker 7: Setting at all, Like it just even being.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Taken all emotion out of it, like why like why
- 12:52Speaker 2: are you doing this? He's not twenty four, he's thirty six.
- 12:56Speaker 2: You're two three years away, Like how long do you
- 12:58Speaker 2: expect him to be around? So like what is what
- 13:01Speaker 2: is the value that? And then on Sunday you.
- 13:03Speaker 7: Have a kicker out there, you're willing to let him
- 13:05Speaker 7: miss two more. We had been talking all year, Why like.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Why are they letting this guy go with this? All
- 13:10Speaker 2: of a sudden, it's so dire that.
- 13:11Speaker 7: You're you're willing to sell your soul.
- 13:13Speaker 2: For a higher quarterback. I don't, man, I just don't.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 13:17Speaker 7: I'm I'm I'm a little bit lost.
- 13:19Speaker 2: With what they're doing right now.
- 13:20Speaker 8: So the Saints out of the opportunity to sign the
- 13:22Speaker 8: person who we think they should or the person that
- 13:25Speaker 8: we think they definitely shouldn't, so we're going to So
- 13:27Speaker 8: they're signing justin Tucker is basically what we're saying. They
- 13:33Speaker 8: got to do the right thing or the wrong thing,
- 13:35Speaker 8: so Tucker's gonna be kicking this week.
- 13:38Speaker 7: I just felt like, like why, Like you created a
- 13:40Speaker 7: circus around a workout too, Like I just don't man, like.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Like what's happening here?
- 13:46Speaker 7: I don't like they could have they could have controlled
- 13:48Speaker 7: the flow of information, so it doesn't come out until
- 13:51Speaker 7: till Tuesday.
- 13:52Speaker 2: When nobody's around and at least it's like quiet, And
- 13:55Speaker 2: I don't get it, Like it just seems very very
- 13:57Speaker 2: shortsighted to me. But yeah, man, I hope they go
- 14:00Speaker 2: with Kaid, Like he's twenty four.
- 14:02Speaker 7: Even take away everything else you taught.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Me, and look the Caid's career kicking percentage of seventy
- 14:08Speaker 2: three point three. That's what Tucker was to the decimal
- 14:11Speaker 2: point last year. Just take everything else out of it, thirty.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Six versut twenty four.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I'd rather find out, you know, if the twenty four
- 14:18Speaker 2: year old can can get it. He was a fourth
- 14:20Speaker 2: round pike at one point, right, Like, go find out
- 14:23Speaker 2: if he can. Yeah, like, see spend the year evaluating
- 14:27Speaker 2: that and see if.
- 14:29Speaker 7: That talent and it kind of like, you know, take.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Some pressure out of the situation, see if you can
- 14:33Speaker 2: figure it out. Like that, that's what the season should
- 14:35Speaker 2: be about. It should be about finding out if young
- 14:37Speaker 2: talent can do what they do. That makes way more sense.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But like it's two puller opposites here, So I don't know,
- 14:45Speaker 2: I hope they go with York.
- 14:45Speaker 8: Yeah they do, you like traditionally know like how the
- 14:48Speaker 8: Saints operate their their player workouts because I'm just like
- 14:52Speaker 8: every other thing, I'm sure they have people working out
- 14:54Speaker 8: every single week like just to either be on the
- 14:57Speaker 8: list or you know, backup plan for a practice squad
- 14:59Speaker 8: or what. I just remember there's always people working out.
- 15:02Speaker 8: Now this one's a little bit more public because they're
- 15:04Speaker 8: obviously looking for another kicker. But we were kind of
- 15:07Speaker 8: talking about it earlier in the show. If you know,
- 15:10Speaker 8: sometimes it's not all It doesn't always depend on who
- 15:13Speaker 8: wins the workout. So like if a traditional person just saying,
- 15:17Speaker 8: all right, they brought two kickers in to try out
- 15:19Speaker 8: for the team, whoever makes the most kicks in that
- 15:22Speaker 8: one workout gets signed. Do you know if like the
- 15:24Speaker 8: Saints operate in that manner or is it just part
- 15:27Speaker 8: of the evaluation process. They're just going to see physically
- 15:30Speaker 8: how you look, how your you know, the leg angle
- 15:33Speaker 8: is or whatever it is. Or are they just going
- 15:35Speaker 8: out and say, all right, y'all used to get thirty kicks,
- 15:37Speaker 8: whoever makes the US gets signed.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think it's more of the evaluation
- 15:42Speaker 2: part of it. That they do much shoer workouts than
- 15:45Speaker 2: they used to. Like when Peyton l there used to
- 15:47Speaker 2: be like twelve guys every week, like he was just
- 15:49Speaker 2: constantly looking at him. It's kind of toned down the.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Last couple of years.
- 15:53Speaker 2: This year, I think it has been the fewest that
- 15:55Speaker 2: I've seen. They haven't brought in any specialist at all
- 15:58Speaker 2: so far this season. You know, in a in a
- 16:01Speaker 2: in a more regular if.
- 16:04Speaker 7: It was a different set of names, kid.
- 16:05Speaker 2: You work in a different thirty six year old kicker,
- 16:07Speaker 2: my thought process would be like, Okay, they're they're They're
- 16:10Speaker 2: probably more interested in Kate and they just want to
- 16:12Speaker 2: see how he holds up against like the pressure of
- 16:14Speaker 2: having somebody else next to him, because it's kind of
- 16:16Speaker 2: been a little bit shaky, and just see where his
- 16:18Speaker 2: confidence is at. That's probably how I would try to
- 16:21Speaker 2: read through that. But this this one feels like, you know,
- 16:25Speaker 2: it's kind of going to bring him in, let them compete.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It kind of feels like it kind of feels like
- 16:30Speaker 2: to me, like the end of the line for Group you. Now,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I do wonder like, if if you know the way
- 16:34Speaker 2: this reaction has been, if if they go back to
- 16:38Speaker 2: GROUPY to avoid the pr pitfall, if or doesn't come
- 16:42Speaker 2: in have a good workout. I don't know, I like it.
- 16:45Speaker 2: What would they actually be willing to sign justin Tucker
- 16:47Speaker 2: after kind of seeing out how things have gone in
- 16:49Speaker 2: the last twenty four hours. It would be fascinating if
- 16:52Speaker 2: if they just said at it and did it, like
- 16:54Speaker 2: I would be kind of surprised by it. But you know,
- 16:57Speaker 2: sometimes they don't care about that stuff, and you know,
- 16:59Speaker 2: I think I think one of my biggest criticisms is that, like,
- 17:02Speaker 2: I think they should sometimes scare a little bit more
- 17:04Speaker 2: about how those things, especially when you are a two
- 17:08Speaker 2: win team, you know. But from a business perspective, like
- 17:11Speaker 2: anything that's alienating people from going into that building and
- 17:14Speaker 2: buying a fifteen dollars beer and whatever the ticket is, like,
- 17:17Speaker 2: I think it's a bad decision because again, they're not
- 17:21Speaker 2: easy to like, and then I don't think they're gonna
- 17:22Speaker 2: be easy to like for a few years, so I like,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I wouldn't be doing things that are like needlessly alienating
- 17:31Speaker 2: and polarizing. But yeah, I mean usually I think they
- 17:34Speaker 2: come in and you know, yeah, it's evaluating, it's gathering
- 17:38Speaker 2: the information. I don't think it's as rigid as like,
- 17:41Speaker 2: you know, gonna play a game of horse and whoever
- 17:43Speaker 2: you know gets the e first is out of here.
- 17:46Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know this one. This one's unique
- 17:49Speaker 2: to me though, because two very different people, and.
- 17:53Speaker 7: It just feels like.
- 17:53Speaker 2: When you bring justin Tucker in it. It feels like
- 17:55Speaker 2: you're kind of already making a decision before you even
- 17:59Speaker 2: look at him, like are you okay with this? Or
- 18:01Speaker 2: you signing off on everything? And if you're doing all that,
- 18:04Speaker 2: like you're it just feels like I don't know, Like
- 18:07Speaker 2: I would assume you're intending to sign that player because
- 18:11Speaker 2: you know it's going to create a headline, and the
- 18:13Speaker 2: headline's going to have damaging effects no matter what you
- 18:16Speaker 2: do after it. So I'm interested to see how it
- 18:20Speaker 2: plays out.
- 18:21Speaker 5: I guess I just don't get it.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Like typically kickers don't get a very long leash in
- 18:25Speaker 3: the NFL, certainly not the one that Gruby's been given
- 18:30Speaker 3: in New Orleans, Like and that was ten years ago.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Like you look at today's kickers like there, it's crazy.
- 18:37Speaker 3: They're like automatic from fifty plus now. I mean, you're
- 18:39Speaker 3: just having a different brand of kicker than you've ever
- 18:42Speaker 3: had before in the NFL.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Like I don't care who it.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Is, like the guy that you had in on the
- 18:47Speaker 3: international deal during camp, like if you want to bring
- 18:50Speaker 3: him back in, like whoever it might be, Like Nick,
- 18:53Speaker 3: we just don't see kickers get this kind of opportunity
- 18:56Speaker 3: to be bad at their job.
- 18:58Speaker 5: I don't does he have incriminating photos? There's somebody that
- 19:00Speaker 5: we don't know about.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Like my third eye was way too open on this one,
- 19:06Speaker 2: but like there's a piece of me. It's like, man,
- 19:08Speaker 2: the punters thinks and the kicker can't make kicks. So
- 19:10Speaker 2: they like low key quietly just sitting back and being
- 19:14Speaker 2: okay with this because it increases their odds to lose
- 19:16Speaker 2: and it's not obvious, and losing right now might be
- 19:19Speaker 2: better because you might get a better draft pick. Like, Okay,
- 19:21Speaker 2: we're gonna lose a field position battle and we're not
- 19:23Speaker 2: gonna get these three points, but we're gonna be able
- 19:25Speaker 2: to watch offense drop down get him it. But like
- 19:27Speaker 2: that obviously isn't the case, because now they're in like
- 19:29Speaker 2: full on panic mode about about the kicker. So I
- 19:33Speaker 2: don't get it, and it look it's not even like
- 19:36Speaker 2: he has a big leg. Like his career long is
- 19:37Speaker 2: fifty seven and like beyond fifty is kind of like
- 19:41Speaker 2: you're praying he makes it. So riding this out for
- 19:44Speaker 2: a guy that it's.
- 19:45Speaker 7: Like all right, well that you know he can he.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Can conceivably hit from you know, sixty.
- 19:50Speaker 7: No, that isn't even the case. So it's just very
- 19:53Speaker 7: it's very confusing how it goes from.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Like we're totally comfortable with this to we're going to
- 19:58Speaker 2: bring in the against pr Nightmarae Simes, Deshaun Watson to
- 20:04Speaker 2: take a look at him, and he's not even on
- 20:07Speaker 2: the same age trajectory as the rest of our roster.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Very very weird.
- 20:11Speaker 7: It goes back to what Mat was.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Saying before, like the philosophy is like they just aren't
- 20:14Speaker 2: They aren't adding up. They aren't adding up right now?
- 20:19Speaker 6: All right?
- 20:20Speaker 5: Nick, you the man.

- 23:33Speaker 3: I missed your note inside of our document here, you said,
- 23:37Speaker 3: ask Nick about Brandon Ayu.
- 23:38Speaker 5: What about it?
- 23:40Speaker 9: They released odds on Ayuk's next team and the same
- 23:43Speaker 9: suction pretty high. Ooh hich that was a That was
- 23:47Speaker 9: a bad contract extension. The forty nine ers gave him.
- 23:50Speaker 9: They gave him all the moneies and he's not a one.
- 23:53Speaker 9: He never was, but I guess they figured that out.
- 23:57Speaker 4: So of course the Saints are gonna go. Yes, probably
- 24:00Speaker 4: a worse contract.
- 24:01Speaker 9: So of course the Saints would be like, you know,
- 24:03Speaker 9: it's better than a one two two's bring them in again.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Yep.
- 24:09Speaker 4: They're like, how can we create the worst roster? But
- 24:13Speaker 4: also like how many games can we win with this
- 24:16Speaker 4: terrible roster?
- 24:18Speaker 9: Yeah, he's gonna be paid a pretty into wherever he goes,
- 24:21Speaker 9: and he hasn't played in like a year.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Forty nine ers or it's odd because they're good, but
- 24:29Speaker 3: they make some wild decisions in who they draft and
- 24:32Speaker 3: who they sign.
- 24:33Speaker 9: They're good at late round drafting, they're just not good
- 24:36Speaker 9: at the top. Like look at Juwan Jennings. He looks
- 24:38Speaker 9: like a really good receiver. Yeah, they didn't draft him high. No,
- 24:42Speaker 9: you drafted Brandon Ayukai and he's gonna be out the
- 24:44Speaker 9: door in three years. Same thing with Trey Lance and
- 24:46Speaker 9: Brock Party. They're just the back end of their draft
- 24:50Speaker 9: has saved them.
- 24:55Speaker 5: They make some wild choices. I'll tell you that they're
- 25:00Speaker 5: good though they're still good. I don't know how.
- 25:05Speaker 6: M mccork you okay for there?
- 25:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he's triggered, that's going through it.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Uh Hey, JJ McCarthy stinks. He's bad. He's bad.
- 25:23Speaker 5: Put him away.
- 25:24Speaker 8: That's a that's a weird, that's all. That's an entirely
- 25:27Speaker 8: weird situation happening over there.
- 25:30Speaker 9: You know, we talked in the off season, Kevin O'Connell man.
- 25:33Speaker 9: He's like the QB whisper. He makes anybody look good,
- 25:36Speaker 9: turns out o JJ McCarthy.
- 25:38Speaker 8: Yeah, not JJ McCarthy. He looks bad, mechanically bad, decision
- 25:42Speaker 8: making bad. He looks out of place. He needs about
- 25:44Speaker 8: five red shirt years in the NFL. I heard someone
- 25:47Speaker 8: talking yesterday in the media. They said there's there's a
- 25:50Speaker 8: weird situation around JJ McCarthy. So Jim Harbaald coached him
- 25:54Speaker 8: and coached another first round in college named Andrew Luck.
- 26:00Speaker 5: Two first round guys.
- 26:02Speaker 8: Well, in college, the offense went through Andrew Luck, right,
- 26:07Speaker 8: he threw the ball all the time, every big situation
- 26:09Speaker 8: and college with JJ McCarthy, he the offense did not
- 26:13Speaker 8: go through JJ McCarthy. They were a run first type
- 26:16Speaker 8: team instead of a past first team. Both first round quarterbacks.
- 26:20Speaker 8: But I don't know Jim Harball knows quarterbacks. Is is
- 26:25Speaker 8: that kind of a pre indictment on JJ McCarthy. Was
- 26:29Speaker 8: he over a drafted as of right now?
- 26:31Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 26:32Speaker 8: He was having this big like argument in the chat
- 26:36Speaker 8: with everybody right now, like I'm just the Saints be
- 26:40Speaker 8: to like spend a positive note on the Saints. I
- 26:43Speaker 8: think they got two quarterbacks that are pretty good, and
- 26:47Speaker 8: both of these quarterbacks could be a starter in multiple
- 26:52Speaker 8: Like they could be a started for the Vikings right now,
- 26:53Speaker 8: which isn't saying a lot because JJ has been really bad.
- 26:56Speaker 8: They could be a starter for where I think they're
- 26:58Speaker 8: both better than Bryce Young. Yeah in Carolina, but like
- 27:01Speaker 8: I was just telling, like, at least like in Carolina,
- 27:03Speaker 8: they still let him go try to be a professional
- 27:05Speaker 8: quarterback even though he plays the position very poorly. Sometimes
- 27:09Speaker 8: they at least still put the ball in his hand
- 27:10Speaker 8: and they make they're taking the ball out of Chuck's
- 27:14Speaker 8: hands right now in big time positions situations.
- 27:19Speaker 6: But I just I don't.
- 27:21Speaker 8: Think you're at a point right now where you take
- 27:23Speaker 8: a first round quarterback. What first round quarterback you take
- 27:26Speaker 8: in this year? If you're gonna do something, maybe you
- 27:29Speaker 8: trade young quarterbacks for a veteran quarterback if you feel
- 27:32Speaker 8: confident in that. Of course, you have to. The roster
- 27:34Speaker 8: cannot be built without solidifying your quarterback. I think you've
- 27:38Speaker 8: seen enough from both your quarterbacks to know that you've
- 27:40Speaker 8: got a pretty good quarterback room.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Right now.
- 27:42Speaker 8: Both those guys play well, they've played the exact same
- 27:44Speaker 8: in my opinion. People disagree with me in the chat
- 27:47Speaker 8: about that.
- 27:49Speaker 4: No, I mean you can just look at the numbers.
- 27:52Speaker 8: Yeah, they're the same guy right now. Like there's only
- 27:54Speaker 8: so much you can do within this offense with the
- 27:56Speaker 8: tools that you've been given. People are saying, well, I
- 27:58Speaker 8: shock so much, so much better. I just feel it, Like,
- 28:02Speaker 8: all right, that's fine, that's great. It's a great reason
- 28:05Speaker 8: your fans. You're allowed to feel it. I got it.
- 28:07Speaker 8: But like, just like looking at it, it's the same position.
- 28:10Speaker 8: They both kind of move well. They both have good
- 28:12Speaker 8: arm strength. Ratler strut with his accuracy a little bit,
- 28:15Speaker 8: Shuck has shown we have plenty. I feel like from
- 28:18Speaker 8: the little bit he's been given to like continue to
- 28:21Speaker 8: see to see what he's got. I solid comment that
- 28:25Speaker 8: was like Ratler had more.
- 28:27Speaker 6: To work with.
- 28:28Speaker 4: They're the same team, literally the same team. He has
- 28:33Speaker 4: a few more games under his belt than Tyler Shuck does, obviously,
- 28:37Speaker 4: but their completion percentage is about the same, like Spencer's
- 28:42Speaker 4: is four percent better than Tyler Shucks. They each have
- 28:44Speaker 4: one win, like Spencer has five interceptions, Shuck has three.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Yeah. I really like what Shuck has done.
- 28:53Speaker 8: I expect the first game he started and make some
- 28:56Speaker 8: good plays on the run, some off schedule plays, really
- 28:59Speaker 8: really really good.
- 29:02Speaker 6: I think they've both shown.
- 29:03Speaker 8: I think the quarterback room is what I'm trying to say,
- 29:05Speaker 8: is pretty pretty darn.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Healthy right now if you build around it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I would disagree your last two games from Schuck have
- 29:13Speaker 3: been better than any two games from Rattler.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I don't only that's the case.
- 29:18Speaker 9: His first start was really good, and I understand he
- 29:21Speaker 9: played a good defense. Last week, Chuck had a lot
- 29:23Speaker 9: to be desired. I thought that Chuck build from a
- 29:26Speaker 9: clean pocket a lot last week. I really did like.
- 29:28Speaker 9: I thought he was really good in the pocket Week one,
- 29:30Speaker 9: I thought he kind of took a step back last week.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Yep, JJ those Carson Wentz injured or what LIKEJJ is injured.
- 29:39Speaker 5: He has a he got a got a phantom concussion.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Yes, but he played the last two games or something
- 29:45Speaker 4: or the last game.
- 29:47Speaker 6: No, well did he play the last k They.
- 29:49Speaker 8: Know they just came out with a concussion like yesterday,
- 29:53Speaker 8: JJ McCarthy, But they just said they can't pinpoint.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Are you talking about Carson Wentz just.
- 29:58Speaker 2: No.
- 29:59Speaker 4: I'm asking JJ.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I think she's asking, like is he her? Is that
- 30:01Speaker 3: why he's not playing right now? Because Jay has been
- 30:03Speaker 3: so bad, that's what they're saying.
- 30:05Speaker 8: They said they don't know when it happened, but he's
- 30:08Speaker 8: got concussion like symptoms.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Carson does no JJA. I'm asking if Carson is injured
- 30:15Speaker 4: because why they played him.
- 30:17Speaker 5: He was a couple of weeks. You know, he got
- 30:21Speaker 5: her national game.
- 30:24Speaker 9: Yeah, it was like it was right before JJ came back,
- 30:27Speaker 9: because remember they were going to continue to roll with
- 30:29Speaker 9: Carson Wentz, but he got hurt, like mid game.
- 30:32Speaker 6: They were.
- 30:35Speaker 9: There was rumors that they were Max Brosber came into
- 30:37Speaker 9: the game, Wins came back, then he was unavailable, and
- 30:41Speaker 9: then the timelinees got a matched up. Remember they said
- 30:44Speaker 9: McCarthy was healthy. We're still going to hold him out
- 30:46Speaker 9: this week for precautionary They still rolled with Wins.
- 30:49Speaker 6: Then he got hurt.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Winz had season ending shoulder injury or shoulder surgery
- 30:54Speaker 4: in October. So yeah, they're stuck with nine.
- 30:59Speaker 6: Maybe I don't this week he's got a concussion.
- 31:01Speaker 5: I don't even know.
- 31:01Speaker 9: They're backup Max Brosmer from Minnesota.
- 31:04Speaker 8: They should have traded for Raler, right, I think I
- 31:07Speaker 8: think they Saints had a tradable asset at least something, right, Max.
- 31:13Speaker 9: Who Brosmer from UH Minnesota. He was a late round rookie.
- 31:18Speaker 9: He went in for Wentz the game, Wentz got hurt
- 31:21Speaker 9: and came back in. People liked him at the combine.
- 31:23Speaker 9: I mean, he obviously hasn't played much in the NFL.
- 31:26Speaker 9: But see what he's got.
- 31:28Speaker 3: We gotta suit he's got he's got.
- 31:31Speaker 5: I mean he took the guy, you know, I mean you.
- 31:34Speaker 6: Got to see what he got. Was shocked.
- 31:35Speaker 8: But like when the you're in the red zone, we
- 31:37Speaker 8: don't need to see what he's got. Let's put Taysom
- 31:39Speaker 8: in in this.
- 31:40Speaker 9: Case they do have to, which is he's like the
- 31:42Speaker 9: only quarterback they have.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Now, this is wild behavior over there, and.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Now I don't know which ways up.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It's like they don't know if they want to be
- 31:50Speaker 3: really bad or if they want to try to win
- 31:52Speaker 3: or I don't know.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Hey, when I genuinely think they're trying.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Hey, let's come back from break and let's look at
- 31:58Speaker 6: this passing charge milissue.

- 34:08Speaker 5: You're making people mad in the chat here again, Bud.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I had a lot of Shuck fans in
- 34:16Speaker 3: chat right now.
- 34:19Speaker 8: He just like imagine at one point Tyler Shuck and
- 34:22Speaker 8: Lane Kiffin teamed up. Don't I don't even dare ask
- 34:28Speaker 8: a question of why. Don't never ask a logical question
- 34:31Speaker 8: about those two. I love Shuck. I think it's a
- 34:36Speaker 8: really good I think it's some somebody built around. I
- 34:39Speaker 8: think Lincoln's is the great coach. You're really happy they
- 34:43Speaker 8: fired up. I'm just not a sheep. I'm always gonna
- 34:48Speaker 8: ask questions. I love the question.
- 34:54Speaker 6: Why.
- 34:54Speaker 8: It's my favorite question in the whole world. Well that's
- 34:56Speaker 8: what we were talking by jim Bo. Why you get it
- 34:59Speaker 8: to in the Why have a brain? Can't run the football?
- 35:03Speaker 8: Why ye want to protect quarterback?
- 35:06Speaker 6: Why?
- 35:07Speaker 5: Yeah, you completely pass over the middle.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Why?
- 35:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that's because you don't ever.
- 35:11Speaker 8: Throw coaches playing given as the greatest coach in America.
- 35:13Speaker 8: Oh okay, why I agree, he's a great coach.
- 35:16Speaker 3: But why I did Okay, the last thing before we
- 35:21Speaker 3: move on, just because it was a comment. I just
- 35:25Speaker 3: think Chuck is going to be better. And this is
- 35:28Speaker 3: like I think Spencer Rally Chuck are giving you the
- 35:30Speaker 3: same thing, by the way, so this is not like
- 35:31Speaker 3: picking one or the other, but it's just funny.
- 35:33Speaker 5: I just think Chuck is going to be better. The
- 35:35Speaker 5: ball comes out.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Quicker, it appears and is on the mark. I just
- 35:40Speaker 3: looked it up the analytics of it.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Uh.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Spencer Rattler is third in the NFL in release time
- 35:47Speaker 3: among quarterbacks with seventy pass attempts.
- 35:50Speaker 8: There there was some there was some accuracy, a couple
- 35:53Speaker 8: throws here and there at that in big moments. So
- 35:55Speaker 8: I'll give him for sure that Yeah, there's those are
- 35:58Speaker 8: those are plays that accuracy plays that he's got. But
- 36:01Speaker 8: he's also very accurate, especially down the field, like you
- 36:04Speaker 8: had a huge pass arm strength. Yeah, they're both giving
- 36:08Speaker 8: me the same thing right now. They're giving you as
- 36:11Speaker 8: as much as this offense is allowing a quarterback to give.
- 36:16Speaker 5: That's a great way to put.
- 36:18Speaker 6: It, you know.
- 36:18Speaker 8: And I think both those quarterbacks are are starting quarterback
- 36:21Speaker 8: caliber in the NFL.
- 36:23Speaker 5: I really do.
- 36:26Speaker 1: So.
- 36:26Speaker 8: I think it's that is good news. Like it is
- 36:28Speaker 8: good news. I would think if Saints fans feel that way,
- 36:31Speaker 8: because that means you don't have to invest in that quarterback.
- 36:35Speaker 8: Build like build around. That's good good stuff.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Before you uh, all right, before you give your passing
- 36:43Speaker 3: chart there, we'll reminds you better friends over at Gordon
- 36:45Speaker 3: mccernin and injury Attorneys. Get Gordon and get it done.

- 37:19Speaker 3: New Orleans, Lafayette, you name it, they've got it covered
- 37:21Speaker 3: in Louisiana, Good Gordon and get it Done.
- 37:25Speaker 8: All right, Tay, you got my computer, all right, So
- 37:28Speaker 8: if you're watching along with us here, you're just gonna
- 37:31Speaker 8: kind of scroll the internet with me. So we are
- 37:33Speaker 8: on this website that gives you passing charts for everybody.
- 37:35Speaker 8: I got college, I got professionals. So what we want
- 37:37Speaker 8: to do is just want to take a dive into
- 37:39Speaker 8: a little bit more of the analytics behind LSU's offense,
- 37:42Speaker 8: and then we're going to compare it to some of
- 37:44Speaker 8: the best offenses that are playing football today in the
- 37:47Speaker 8: in the NFL.
- 37:47Speaker 6: Of like, just cut how you attack the field.
- 37:50Speaker 5: I just want you to take it.
- 37:51Speaker 8: We're gonna go through multiple different games here, Jake, if
- 37:54Speaker 8: you want to like van a White for me a
- 37:56Speaker 8: little bit. We got a line of scrimmage right here,
- 37:58Speaker 8: and so I when do you see passing chart?
- 38:00Speaker 6: Can you really see that?
- 38:01Speaker 2: Now?
- 38:01Speaker 5: Go back to the other screen. Yeah, all right, So we.
- 38:03Speaker 8: Got I think we got one, two, three, four, five,
- 38:06Speaker 8: six passes beyond five yards and I'm given a couple
- 38:08Speaker 8: like outside the hash credit as well. Weird situation down
- 38:13Speaker 8: here behind the line of scrimmage. You can see how
- 38:14Speaker 8: many passes are behind the line of scrimmage. So the
- 38:16Speaker 8: fastest way to the end zone is attack in the
- 38:19Speaker 8: middle of the field. We've talked about it so many
- 38:21Speaker 8: behind the line of screen. Now, we've talked about it
- 38:22Speaker 8: all season long about how LSU is not. So this
- 38:26Speaker 8: is this past week versus Western Kentucky. What we're gonna
- 38:28Speaker 8: do right here, We're gonna go back to week twelve
- 38:30Speaker 8: versus Arkansas kind of the same thing. Now, it looks
- 38:33Speaker 8: like there's a lot more in the middle of the field,
- 38:34Speaker 8: but that is at the line of scrimmage. Are behind
- 38:37Speaker 8: so beyond the line of scrimmage, I got one, two, three, four, five.
- 38:40Speaker 8: We have thirty seven attempts, so five to thirty seven
- 38:43Speaker 8: went between the hashes or in the middle of the
- 38:45Speaker 8: field during that game. So let's see, how about we
- 38:48Speaker 8: go to a different week. Let's go to let's go
- 38:51Speaker 8: to week eight. This was against Vanderbilt. Wow, jeez, all right,
- 38:57Speaker 8: So we got one inside the hatch, just beyond the
- 39:00Speaker 8: line of scrimmage. Now we got three inside the hashes
- 39:04Speaker 8: within five yards. But this is the definition of how
- 39:08Speaker 8: to not run an efficient offense. Yeah, will be run
- 39:13Speaker 8: offense that is dynamic. Fastest way to the end zone
- 39:17Speaker 8: is over the middle of the field. So what I
- 39:18Speaker 8: want to do is kind of like I just want
- 39:20Speaker 8: to show you what I mean when I taught when
- 39:22Speaker 8: I when I think of the best offensive mins, I go,
- 39:26Speaker 8: of course to the NFL level. And what I want
- 39:28Speaker 8: to show you is, we're going to take a little
- 39:30Speaker 8: look at a couple of We're gonna take a look
- 39:34Speaker 8: at the Patriots right now. Okay, the Patriots are they
- 39:37Speaker 8: have one of the best offensive coordinators in my opinion.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Let's go to this past game. Let's see look at
- 39:49Speaker 6: the middle.
- 39:49Speaker 8: Of the field right here, and so as you can
- 39:50Speaker 8: tell the NFL that the hash marks are more narrow,
- 39:53Speaker 8: so you kind of get to go a little bit
- 39:55Speaker 8: outside of that. Even in the narrow but even in
- 39:57Speaker 8: the narrow hash marks, it's more look at. So this
- 40:01Speaker 8: is the theme for teams. This is I think this
- 40:04Speaker 8: is against the Jets here. So let's go to a
- 40:06Speaker 8: week before. All right, that's both weeks. Just look it's
- 40:13Speaker 8: it's more equally spread throughout the field. It's not past
- 40:16Speaker 8: the numbers, not past not past the hashes. We are
- 40:21Speaker 8: attacking the middle of the field. So let's go to
- 40:24Speaker 8: a different team. What do you think, who's another team
- 40:27Speaker 8: you think of? I always think I think of the
- 40:28Speaker 8: Niners when I think of a good offensive coordinator who
- 40:31Speaker 8: does a lot, I mean for crying out, well, he
- 40:33Speaker 8: took mccorkyl right, made mccorkyl good this year. Let's go
- 40:37Speaker 8: to the Niners. Let's go to like, let's go to
- 40:40Speaker 8: week ten. They play they played the Rams this game.
- 40:45Speaker 8: Middle of the field. Yeah, attack looks at Chris Tack
- 40:49Speaker 8: looks like a Christmas tree. That's exactly right. You want
- 40:51Speaker 8: a passing chart to look like a Christmas tree in
- 40:53Speaker 8: my opinion. Let's go let's go to the week before this.
- 40:56Speaker 8: Let's go to Week nine. This was against the Giants.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Just attacking.
- 41:02Speaker 8: Yeah, so these are the best offenses out there, The
- 41:04Speaker 8: best offensive mines. The best offense is that is the
- 41:07Speaker 8: you attack the middle of the field. That is something
- 41:09Speaker 8: LSU has not done this season. So with the coaching change,
- 41:13Speaker 8: with all of that, and we can take it like
- 41:16Speaker 8: what I didn't do. I didn't pull up lane lane Kiffins.
- 41:18Speaker 8: I think I did one and it wasn't actually that
- 41:21Speaker 8: much of a difference. They weren't attacking the middle of
- 41:23Speaker 8: the field. But I didn't look at all the games.
- 41:26Speaker 8: I just that's what I hope for this offense going forward.
- 41:28Speaker 8: If I took the passing chart last year from what
- 41:31Speaker 8: LSU did last year, and it's what a difference that
- 41:33Speaker 8: one year can make, which is wild. The same offensive coordinator,
- 41:36Speaker 8: a lot of the same weapons, same quarterback, Garrett attacked.
- 41:41Speaker 8: That's what Aaron Anderson was so good at. That's why
- 41:43Speaker 8: I said before the season, that's why that's why Aaron
- 41:45Speaker 8: Anderson had over eight hundred yards, was a leader receiver
- 41:47Speaker 8: and did all this because he's really good at that.
- 41:51Speaker 8: He's got high football like Q. He's really good at
- 41:53Speaker 8: attacking the middle, finding the zones, finding the open holes,
- 41:55Speaker 8: knowing where he is in his assignment, in his route combination.
- 41:59Speaker 8: And then you go in to the season with this
- 42:01Speaker 8: offensive philosophy. Is just mind blowing to me. Now something, Yeah, sure,
- 42:05Speaker 8: there are people running over the middle of field. It's
- 42:07Speaker 8: not like everyone's running towards the sideline at all times.
- 42:10Speaker 8: It's just not a part of the DNA of this
- 42:12Speaker 8: offense and the quarterbacks footwork and the read to go
- 42:14Speaker 8: one two three over the middle, one two over the middle.
- 42:18Speaker 8: The receivers aren't running the best routes when it comes
- 42:20Speaker 8: to seam routes and end routes and all these different things.
- 42:23Speaker 8: It's just it's been frustrating to watch. But I wanted
- 42:25Speaker 8: to give you just kind of an overview of what
- 42:27Speaker 8: I look at when I look at good offenses, is
- 42:29Speaker 8: how do they attack that Christmas tree? Look, Yeah, you
- 42:31Speaker 8: want to, you want to see some grain towards the
- 42:33Speaker 8: sideline on deep balls, but you don't see offenses and
- 42:38Speaker 8: good offenses and great quarterbacks taking those shots all the
- 42:40Speaker 8: time because they're fifty to fifty balls. They want in
- 42:43Speaker 8: the They wanted to get the ball in their playmaker's hands.
- 42:46Speaker 8: The short passes, the easy passes. Attack those zones. You
- 42:49Speaker 8: got linebackers moving left to right. You got to moving
- 42:51Speaker 8: up and down. They are windows, there are holes. You
- 42:54Speaker 8: just gotta find them.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Hopefully they can find them in Norman, Oklahoma. Haven't found them.
- 43:00Speaker 6: Yet this year. Yeah, do you think they will.
- 43:05Speaker 5: We'll go to break martb when we.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Come back off the bench.
- 43:11Speaker 5: Big news on the river front.
- 43:13Speaker 3: They'll start downtown ban Rougees here Valleys of Banon Rouge

- 43:27Speaker 3: a major moment for downtown. This is a new casino,

- 46:02Speaker 5: The soft.
