- 0:20Favorite happy places her chicken coop, along with all her
- 0:23chickens, Hey everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. So today I'm sharing one of my
- 0:31favorite tricks with you about keeping yourself on track and
- 0:35that is talking to yourself. Now, I know there's going to be
- 0:39people out there that are already laughing and saying hey
- 0:41wait a minute, talking to yourself, doesn't that mean?
- 0:42You're insane. I'm not talking about the
- 0:45typical walking around your house talking to yourself.
- 0:47What I'm talking about is making little recordings to yourself
- 0:51when you're in a great state that you can play.
- 0:54Back to yourself when you are not in a great state.
- 0:58So let's say that we take morning, for example, morning is
- 1:02a really incredibly important time in setting the tone for
- 1:06your day. Because if your morning is
- 1:08messed up, then everything else tends to be going downhill from
- 1:13there because we stay in that state that we put ourselves in.
- 1:16So if we have an intense morning and that morning is just, you
- 1:22know, you wake up, there's a problem right away, you get
- 1:24Email, that's a problem you have issues right away.
- 1:28That will be one of those times where you instantaneously take
- 1:31that energy with you self into the next ACT.
- 1:35Whether it's getting the kids up, whether it's doing something
- 1:37else instantaneously. You have that going with you and
- 1:42oftentimes it's really, really hard to shift it because you're,
- 1:47you're stuck, essentially you're stuck in that moment.
- 1:50You're like Frozen if you will emotionally because you're not
- 1:56paying attention, that's the very first thing.
- 1:58When you wake up, typically, we're just in go mode and we're
- 2:01saying, what have I got to get done today and we've some of us
- 2:04make our to-do list in the morning.
- 2:06Some of us make our to-do list in the after, you know,
- 2:10afternoon late in the day before.
- 2:13So we have it when we wake up, but most of us tend to wake up
- 2:17and were only thinking about what we have to do.
- 2:19We're not thinking about any of the other stuff.
- 2:22To take care of ourselves. We just focused on this little
- 2:24tiny piece of, you know, get to get going.
- 2:27Got to get going. I got a lot to do today.
- 2:29Can't tell you how many times I myself.
- 2:31Will say, okay I got a lot to do today but the problem is, if I'm
- 2:36only focused on what I have to do, I'm not focused on who I'm
- 2:40being. So having these little
- 2:42recordings to myself really helped me.
- 2:46So if I have if you if you have any sort of phone Not from, you
- 2:53know, 1802, you can open it up and in your utilities, you have
- 2:58a voice text app and this is exactly how I record the
- 3:04podcast. Believe it or not, I use my
- 3:06voice text so much. I found that it was super easy,
- 3:09just to use it for the podcast to.
- 3:12So I come I have a whole series of little ones that stay in my
- 3:18phone that are just messages to myself.
- 3:21That I Use. So if I'm off, if I'm off track,
- 3:25if I'm off base, if I'm not tracking in a way that I want to
- 3:30of my energy is going downhill. If I'm feeling frustrated if I'm
- 3:34in between sessions, if people coach with me they know I am I
- 3:38keep my sessions really tight because I like to stay in flow
- 3:42and in mode I don't I don't like to take breaks actually because
- 3:45it throws me off and then I can't, you know I'm so in the
- 3:48moment I can't get back into flow quickly so Like to keep it
- 3:53pretty tight. But if I've got a couple seconds
- 3:55in between our, if I've had a session where it's been very
- 3:57emotional with a client, I have a message in my voice memos,
- 4:02where I can listen to myself, talk to myself and give myself a
- 4:07pep talk. If you will a feedback,
- 4:10something to focus on instead of what I have been focusing on,
- 4:13and I can't begin to tell you the magic it creates, because it
- 4:16shifts you right away. Another piece of the puzzle is
- 4:20that your brain is wired to I believe your voice to be true.
- 4:24So when you're talking to yourself, whether it's good or
- 4:27bad, whether it's positive or negative, your brain believes
- 4:30you. So when you say, oh God, I'm so
- 4:32frustrated. I'm so stupid.
- 4:34Even if you just say this in your head, your brain believes
- 4:36that to be true. That's why it's so hard to shift
- 4:39out of things. And the Beautiful Thing is also
- 4:44believes it in reverse. So if you're able to record
- 4:47messages to yourself, when you are feeling good and You know,
- 4:53you're in a great state and you talk to yourself, then all of a
- 4:56sudden you listen to that message, and it changes
- 4:59everything. So I'll give you an example.
- 5:01If you're a parent and you're you get frustrated with your
- 5:04kids and you know that you have certain hot buttons issues like
- 5:09homework. That's always a know something
- 5:13in our house that triggers things.
- 5:15You can have a little message that you record to yourself and
- 5:18you can talk about that and say like let's say your name is
- 5:20Sally. You can say Hey Sally listen
- 5:24homework is going to start in about 30 minutes.
- 5:26You know that this is going to be awesome if you stay calm and
- 5:31focused. So I want you to go in there, I
- 5:32want you to be super centered, I want you to be calm.
- 5:36I want you to have the snacks, ready.
- 5:37Pencil sharpened, sit down put on good music for the kids to
- 5:40listen to and get everything in the way that they, you know,
- 5:44they can Thrive and you can Thrive.
- 5:46And remember, take the high road.
- 5:48Stay calm. No yelling give yourself.
- 5:52Little this little thing and then play it beforehand.
- 5:55When you're talking to yourself, you actually, listen.
- 5:57I have them for all different things in my phone, I have them
- 6:00for, like I said in between sessions, I have them for
- 6:02things. If I'm irritated with my
- 6:03husband, I can go and listen to one that I have talking to me
- 6:07about all the things. I love about him and
- 6:09instantaneously it, right? It reminds me and puts me in a
- 6:13state of letting go of whatever stupid thing happened, that we
- 6:17might be arguing about, and then I can easily go right back to
- 6:21feeling great. And so today I would like you to
- 6:24make some recordings for yourself that you can listen to.
- 6:28And that morning recording is probably the most important of
- 6:32all of them. So when you get up you can talk
- 6:34to yourself. And say, I'm out here starting
- 6:37my day, strong, and I'm focused because I listened to my morning
- 6:42recording. That told me when I wake up,
- 6:44hey, Kim, you just got out of bed.
- 6:46It's time to get into that. Right State of Mind.
- 6:48Remember you're focused on effortless, abundance, you're
- 6:50focused on Being the best person.
- 6:53You can be in, kindness, happiness, love and joy.
- 6:56That's one of mine, by the way, in case you're interested, so I
- 7:00can listen to that and I can listen to it over and over and
- 7:02over again. If I need to you can make them
- 7:04as short as you want. As long as you want, just make
- 7:07them, make them, go do it today. Make yourself one, just try one
- 7:10and see how it works. Alright guys, I hope you have a
- 7:12great day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 7:14Bye.
