- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's more of the Mark Simone Show on WOR. Well,
- 0:07Speaker 1: a beautiful Tuesday, a beautiful Wednesday coming up. You've got
- 0:10Speaker 1: two beautiful summer days, and then you're going to have
- 0:12Speaker 1: some rain, so enjoy these two days. A lot to
- 0:15Speaker 1: get to this hour. The CIA director, John Ratcliffe, it
- 0:19Speaker 1: turns out now he was secretly traveling to Russia. Secret
- 0:25Speaker 1: military plane brought him there to Moscow. For meetings, and
- 0:30Speaker 1: then he can't—now, it's assumed that he's meeting with Putin
- 0:34Speaker 1: or Putin and all the high-level Russians. Now, what are
- 0:37Speaker 1: these secret talks about? Well, two things. It's believed that
- 0:43Speaker 1: they're talking about Russia-Ukraine. Russia is getting creamed in Ukraine
- 0:48Speaker 1: right now. It's hard to believe. How long has this
- 0:50Speaker 1: been going on? Six years? Five, six years? Originally, it
- 0:54Speaker 1: didn't look like Ukraine had much of a chance. We
- 0:57Speaker 1: were sending them. Money, weapons, planes, bombs, rockets, anything we
- 1:02Speaker 1: could send them just to keep them going. They were
- 1:05Speaker 1: brilliant in the Ukraine. You got to give them credit.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Got to give the Zelensky credit. They started building their
- 1:10Speaker 1: own missile factories. They started building their own drone factories.
- 1:14Speaker 1: They now make more drones there than any place in
- 1:17Speaker 1: the world. Very sophisticated drones. They got assembly lines turning
- 1:21Speaker 1: them out. They got so many missiles and drones. They're
- 1:23Speaker 1: just pounding Russia. Russia has lost hundreds and hundreds of
- 1:29Speaker 1: thousands of soldiers. They had the worst month. Last month,
- 1:32Speaker 1: they lost 40,000 soldiers in one month. Their drones and
- 1:37Speaker 1: missiles getting so sophisticated, they're now firing them 500 miles
- 1:41Speaker 1: into Russia. So it's a good time for Ratcliffe to
- 1:46Speaker 1: fly over there and talk to Russia because they are
- 1:49Speaker 1: getting killed and they need a way out of this.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Putin's got a safe face. He can't just withdraw. He
- 1:55Speaker 1: can't just surrender. It's Russia. It wouldn't look good. So
- 1:59Speaker 1: Ratcliffe over there talking to him about some sort of off-ramp.
- 2:02Speaker 1: How the hell do they get out of this Ukraine mess? Now,
- 2:04Speaker 1: the other thing I'm sure that came up is trying
- 2:06Speaker 1: to convince Russia, stop helping Iran. Russia's in the oil business.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Iran's in the oil business. There's some kind of deals
- 2:15Speaker 1: we can make as far as more use of their oil,
- 2:20Speaker 1: less of Iran, but probably trying to get them to stop.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Stop secretly supporting Iran. Now with China, we'll never get
- 2:28Speaker 1: them to stop. China busy trying to help Iran. China
- 2:33Speaker 1: was totally dependent on Strait of Hormuz oil. But without it,
- 2:37Speaker 1: there has been no Strait of Hormuz oil from Iran.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Without it, they are able to find oil elsewhere. It's
- 2:42Speaker 1: not as easy and it's not as cheap. But they're
- 2:46Speaker 1: doing it. Strait of Hormuz is open, by the way.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It's half open. The southern half is open. and we've
- 2:51Speaker 1: had about 400 ships, tankers come through there. The northern corridor,
- 2:57Speaker 1: which is the Iranian-controlled part, we could open if we want,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but we don't need it. We're using the southern corridor,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and it's just fine. So Ghislaine Maxwell just tried a
- 3:12Speaker 1: big appeal in court. The judge tossed out her appeal.
- 3:15Speaker 1: She recorded quite a statement from prison, The judge not
- 3:20Speaker 1: only tossed it out, but really told her off, said
- 3:22Speaker 1: this is a frivolous, ridiculous, preposterous appeal. She's not getting
- 3:26Speaker 1: out of jail. Ghislaine Maxwell. She's in a better jail
- 3:30Speaker 1: after meeting with the Trump people. But she's not getting out.
- 3:35Speaker 1: She'll be there. It was a 20-year sentence. She'll be
- 3:37Speaker 1: there another 10, 15 years. But more is coming out.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Epstein files. There's a lot more Epstein files coming out. And, uh,
- 3:48Speaker 1: another million or so pages that had been sealed. That'll
- 3:51Speaker 1: be coming out. There's not going to be anything bad
- 3:53Speaker 1: in there. There's nothing really bad in any of these
- 3:55Speaker 1: Epstein files. I mean, nothing horrifying. There's no 14 year
- 3:58Speaker 1: olds or pedophile rings or any that everybody thought they'd be.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The worst case is a 17 year old. One of
- 4:05Speaker 1: the girls is 17. But there's a lot of, uh,
- 4:09Speaker 1: older women in there of age, women, hookers, all that
- 4:13Speaker 1: sort of stuff. And there's, uh, A lot of his
- 4:16Speaker 1: friends writing back and forth. You can go read the
- 4:18Speaker 1: Epstein files online. Fascinating to read. Especially some of his
- 4:22Speaker 1: friends writing back and forth about what they did with
- 4:25Speaker 1: this woman, that woman. They're just like horny old guys
- 4:29Speaker 1: chasing women all over the place. And if Epstein meets
- 4:32Speaker 1: one or the other one meets one, they introduce them
- 4:34Speaker 1: to each other. But these are not underage women in
- 4:37Speaker 1: the files. They're all adult women. There's one guy I
- 4:41Speaker 1: know who should go nameless. He's Probably the closest to Epstein.
- 4:47Speaker 1: He's a very annoying guy. Most people can't stand this guy.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But he's just writing back and forth with Epstein about everything.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Every woman he met, every this and that. He's kind
- 4:57Speaker 1: of a useless guy. Wealthy guy who does nothing for
- 4:59Speaker 1: a living. You wouldn't know the name. And then he
- 5:04Speaker 1: sometimes writes to Epstein. The wife just left town for
- 5:07Speaker 1: a week. Let's go. Let's go out and do something.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And then there's a lot of noted people. just chasing
- 5:14Speaker 1: after Epstein because they think he's fun and it's a
- 5:17Speaker 1: good networking sort of guy. He knows everybody. And then
- 5:20Speaker 1: there's a lot of academics, college presidents chasing after Epstein.
- 5:27Speaker 1: They're all through the files from the top, top universities,
- 5:32Speaker 1: Harvard and other universities, the top department guys, the top
- 5:39Speaker 1: presidents of colleges. Now, one reason is Epstein would make
- 5:43Speaker 1: huge donations to the college, $ 10 million, $ 20 million, $ 30 million.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He'd raise money, and the one reason he was doing
- 5:50Speaker 1: that is he could buy access. You need to get
- 5:52Speaker 1: your kid into Harvard, Epstein could do it in a second,
- 5:55Speaker 1: or whatever else college he was given a fortune to.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But these college presidents, many of them very embarrassed to
- 6:01Speaker 1: be all through the Epstein files, running over to his
- 6:04Speaker 1: house for lunch or for dinner. There's another guy who
- 6:08Speaker 1: was a top, top, top revered scientist, running over to
- 6:13Speaker 1: Epstein's house, fawning all over Epstein. Cause he was making
- 6:16Speaker 1: huge donations to his Institute. So you'll see more of
- 6:20Speaker 1: that when the new files come, I'm in the Epstein
- 6:22Speaker 1: file six times, nothing bad, nothing bad. A couple of
- 6:27Speaker 1: times he came to some event that I was the
- 6:29Speaker 1: MC of a couple of times. Somebody emailed him about
- 6:32Speaker 1: something they heard on my show. Nothing bad, nothing bad
- 6:36Speaker 1: in there. Uh, Oh, Hey, um, AI is going to
- 6:41Speaker 1: start taking over everything. Now, everybody worried that the lowest
- 6:46Speaker 1: jobs would be replaced by AI. It turns out that's
- 6:49Speaker 1: not necessarily the case. A lot of bigger jobs are
- 6:52Speaker 1: being taken over by AI. A lot of people now
- 6:54Speaker 1: use an AI to do their taxes, their accounting. In
- 6:58Speaker 1: the real estate world, a lot of people, they still
- 7:02Speaker 1: want a real estate agent to negotiate. But when it
- 7:05Speaker 1: comes time to drop the contracts and do the legal work,
- 7:08Speaker 1: AI is being used more and more. Even the real
- 7:12Speaker 1: estate companies using an AI model to completely do the
- 7:17Speaker 1: legal work of the transaction. That's happening a lot. If
- 7:20Speaker 1: you're a real estate agent, things change through the years,
- 7:22Speaker 1: especially those older women. The old housewives have been real
- 7:26Speaker 1: estate agents for 40 years. Years ago, a couple was
- 7:30Speaker 1: looking for a house. The old real estate agent back
- 7:33Speaker 1: then had to pick them up in her car, drive
- 7:36Speaker 1: them all over the place, drive them to 20 different houses.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You had to sit in the car with them for
- 7:41Speaker 1: like hours. It was annoying. Now, everybody goes online. They
- 7:45Speaker 1: look at all the real estate stuff. They look at
- 7:47Speaker 1: realtor.com and StreetEasy and Zillow and all. So they've picked
- 7:52Speaker 1: out everything they want to see. They know exactly now,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I want to see these three houses. That's it. And
- 7:58Speaker 1: they mostly meet the real estate agent there. So she
- 8:00Speaker 1: doesn't have to sit in a car and listen to
- 8:01Speaker 1: these idiots. And they don't have to sit in the
- 8:04Speaker 1: car and listen to her hustling them. But it's changed everything. Hey,
- 8:12Speaker 1: Darlene Graham, keep an eye on this tonight. She's in
- 8:16Speaker 1: a runoff. South Carolina final primary is tonight. She's trying
- 8:22Speaker 1: to recover from this answer. It's one of the strangest
- 8:25Speaker 1: answers in a debate. Senator... This is Greta Van Susteren
- 8:29Speaker 1: of Newsmax doing the questioning.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Senator, are Taiwan and the South China Sea national security
- 8:35Speaker 2: issues for the United States?
- 8:37Speaker 1: If so, why?
- 8:40Speaker 2: I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? Are Taiwan and
- 8:42Speaker 2: the South China Sea national security issues for the United States?
- 8:46Speaker 2: And if so, why or how? I'm just going to
- 8:50Speaker 2: be honest here. I'm not on national security. I'm not
- 8:54Speaker 2: that informed on national security, so... But I do support
- 9:00Speaker 2: the military.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I've never heard that in a presidential debate. I've never
- 9:07Speaker 1: heard it. It's very honest. It's very real. We've never
- 9:11Speaker 1: had a candidate say, yeah, I'm just going to be
- 9:13Speaker 1: honest here. I don't know nothing about this stuff. I
- 9:15Speaker 1: really don't know anything about foreign policy. I just don't know.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But I've got to admit, she's been brilliant, brilliant at
- 9:26Speaker 1: handling the gaffe. Now, normally, you'd be so embarrassed, you'd
- 9:30Speaker 1: make a million excuses. She's just said, hey, I don't
- 9:33Speaker 1: know about that stuff. I'm new to this. I'm just
- 9:36Speaker 1: a regular person. And she said, Fox & Friends, I
- 9:39Speaker 1: talked to a lot of people, and they said, you
- 9:42Speaker 1: know what? I'm proud of you. They said, because you're honest.
- 9:47Speaker 1: You're honest. We don't get that a lot in politicians.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And she said, you know, hey, people are more worried
- 9:52Speaker 1: about the price of groceries and not Taiwan.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I don't think there's anybody out there counting on a
- 9:59Speaker 1: senator to help with the price of groceries. If you are,
- 10:03Speaker 1: good luck with that. It's not going to happen. So
- 10:07Speaker 1: speaking of prices, crazy mom Donnie is going to drive
- 10:11Speaker 1: the price of everything up. You'll somehow be paying more
- 10:14Speaker 1: for groceries. Whenever a Democrat, liberal, left-wing socialist jumps into
- 10:19Speaker 1: a problem, Somehow it gets worse. It always, always gets worse. Mamdani,
- 10:25Speaker 1: it's one scheme after another with his free groceries. Look
- 10:30Speaker 1: at this BQE, the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. All of a
- 10:34Speaker 1: sudden he decides this is a big issue that needs
- 10:36Speaker 1: his help. They start putting out this video of the
- 10:40Speaker 1: parts of the BQE are crumbling and the concrete is
- 10:44Speaker 1: coming apart. Look at this. It's sagging. Look at this
- 10:47Speaker 1: where it goes over a bridge. It's going to fall.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's This is in dire need of repair. So he
- 10:53Speaker 1: announces he will fix it. He has put together a team.
- 10:57Speaker 1: They're going to repair the BQE. I'm not kidding. I
- 11:01Speaker 1: swear to God. He said yesterday, work will begin in 2030.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It'll begin in 2030. That's four years from now. This
- 11:12Speaker 1: guy is crazy. These grocery stores, he keeps showing the locations.
- 11:17Speaker 1: He keeps showing you where it's going to be. You'll
- 11:20Speaker 1: never see a grocery store. He keeps telling you it's
- 11:22Speaker 1: going to, this one's going to open in 2029. This
- 11:25Speaker 1: one will open in 2036. He's got one he claims
- 11:28Speaker 1: will open next year. You'll never see it. They built
- 11:32Speaker 1: a Wegmans in Norwalk, right near Stu Leonard's. You ever
- 11:36Speaker 1: see how big a Wegmans is? It's like the size
- 11:39Speaker 1: of an airport. So they announced Wegmans is coming to
- 11:42Speaker 1: Norwalk and it's a big empty place. And I look,
- 11:46Speaker 1: nothing there. I'll come back in four months. There's a Wegmans.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It's open. There's people coming and going. It's like four
- 11:52Speaker 1: months they opened this place. Uncle Giuseppe's. It's one of
- 11:55Speaker 1: the great supermarkets in the world. Unfortunately, they're not all
- 11:59Speaker 1: over the place yet. I keep yelling at them to
- 12:01Speaker 1: open everywhere. It's like the Italian Wegmans. Got great food.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Uncle Giuseppe's. They're opening in Long Island. Greenvale in the
- 12:09Speaker 1: beautiful shopping center Wheatley Plaza. They announced this last year.
- 12:13Speaker 1: They're enormous. They're huge. Come back in six months. There
- 12:16Speaker 1: it is. It's open. Everybody's coming and going. In six months,
- 12:20Speaker 1: they're opening the biggest supermarkets in the world. This thing,
- 12:23Speaker 1: a Mondani, is a broken down, crappy little bodega. He
- 12:27Speaker 1: says three years, four years, maybe he'll get it open.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And that Uncle Giuseppe's, I think it cost a million,
- 12:34Speaker 1: two million to open it. The Wegmans, I think it
- 12:35Speaker 1: was a million and a half. This little broken down bodega,
- 12:39Speaker 1: he wants to spend 60 million to open it. These
- 12:43Speaker 1: people are crazy. They're crazy. totally inexperienced. They have no
- 12:47Speaker 1: idea how to build anything. Listen to Mom Don.
- 12:50Speaker 3: They feel that they're being disenfranchised.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And what's your response to their suit and their attempt
- 12:54Speaker 1: to stop your city-run grocery stores?
- 12:56Speaker 3: I continue to be fully confident in both the legality
- 12:59Speaker 3: and the importance of our initiative to deliver five city-run
- 13:03Speaker 3: grocery stores, one in each borough, to the people of
- 13:06Speaker 3: our city. We are talking about a reflection of a
- 13:12Speaker 3: cost of living crisis that has seen grocery prices increase
- 13:15Speaker 3: by about 30% over the last few years.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Why are the grocery prices so high in Manhattan?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Because they're paying a fortune in taxes, real estate tax.
- 13:23Speaker 1: They're paying fees. They're trying, the trucks are getting taxed
- 13:27Speaker 1: and told to death. Everything in the grocery store is
- 13:29Speaker 1: brought in by truck. So when the trucks are paying
- 13:33Speaker 1: a hundred dollars on the bridge to come over, they
- 13:35Speaker 1: are a hundred for the trucks. And, uh, Congestion pricing
- 13:38Speaker 1: raises the price of everything. First of all, if you
- 13:41Speaker 1: want to build a grocery store, call an expert. You know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you've got John Katsimatidis. He owns hundreds of groceries. He's
- 13:48Speaker 1: an expert, expert on doing it. Uncle Giuseppe is a
- 13:53Speaker 1: great owner. What's his name? Carl Del Prete. Wonderful man.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You call these kind of guys. They'll be happy to
- 14:00Speaker 1: help you. I'm the mayor of New York. I need help.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Could you show me? They'll come right over. They'll be
- 14:05Speaker 1: happy to have a meeting with you. They'll show you
- 14:07Speaker 1: how to do it. They'll even help you. Let me
- 14:09Speaker 1: lend you some people. Here, I'll lend you three guys.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It'll show you everything. But these guys, these crazy little
- 14:17Speaker 1: democratic socialists, they call them silver spoon socialists. They're spoiled
- 14:21Speaker 1: little kids that never had a job, got indoctrinated in
- 14:24Speaker 1: some crazy Ivy League, Harvard, Columbia kind of a place.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So you'll never see these grocery stores. Also, they're going crazy.
- 14:34Speaker 1: They create these We've got to stop the data center.
- 14:37Speaker 1: You know, these data centers, look at this phone. Look
- 14:41Speaker 1: at all the things you can do on this phone.
- 14:42Speaker 1: It's thanks to the data center. And they're solving the
- 14:46Speaker 1: problems of those data centers one by one. The electricity problem,
- 14:49Speaker 1: they almost got that solved. The water, how much water
- 14:54Speaker 1: it uses. They figured out how to recycle the water
- 14:56Speaker 1: and not use so much. Now, the only problem is
- 14:58Speaker 1: the noise. You've got those turbines and those coolers that
- 15:02Speaker 1: make like a loud, loud, loud hum. There's the other
- 15:05Speaker 1: one that makes a high-pitched tone. You've got noise. You've
- 15:09Speaker 1: got noise. But go stand next to LaGuardia Airport. You
- 15:13Speaker 1: want to hear noise, go stand next to LaGuardia Airport.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's in a residential neighborhood in Queens. Go to John F. Kennedy.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's even bigger. It's surrounded by houses, so people live there.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I mean, I guess, you know, you've got to put
- 15:28Speaker 1: the data centers as remote as you can. But, hey,
- 15:31Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next.
- 15:32Speaker 3: 800-321-7000.
- 15:32Speaker 1: 0710 is the number.
- 15:35Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
