Lucas: Exactly. So let's start with a simple phrase: 'het regent'. That means 'it's raining'. Luna: Het regent. Het regent. Lucas: Perfect. Now imagine you look outside and it's sunny. You say 'het is zonnig'. Luna: Het is zonnig. That sounds nice. Lucas: And if it's cold, you say 'het is koud'. Luna: Het is koud. I'll need that for winter. Lucas: And when the wind blows, 'het waait'. Luna: Het waait. That one's a bit tricky. Het waait. Lucas: You got it. Let's practice all four in a little scene. Imagine you're on the phone with a friend. Luna: Okay. 'Hallo, hoe is het weer bij jou?' Lucas: And your friend says: 'Het regent hier.' Luna: Oh, that's a bummer. 'Het is zonnig bij mij.' Lucas: Nice. And if it's windy? 'Het waait hier.' Luna: Het waait. 'Is het koud?' Lucas: Ja, het is koud. Luna: So I can say: 'Het is koud en het waait.' Lucas: Exactly. You're combining phrases.
