- 1:02Speaker 1: Sure you did.
- 1:04Speaker 4: To leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside
- 1:07Speaker 4: the treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with Trey Trinholm at
- 1:11Speaker 4: the beginning of a brand new week here inside the treehouse.
- 1:15Speaker 4: And we are going to start with an oldie but
- 1:18Speaker 4: a goodie.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And what I mean by.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Old is it's a tale as old as time. And
- 1:23Speaker 4: that is a snooping wife and a defensive husband. If
- 1:31Speaker 4: you have any experience in this arena, you already know
- 1:35Speaker 4: how this is going to go. But if you don't,
- 1:41Speaker 4: you're in for quite the ride.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Trey, are you ready?
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm ready.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Am I overreacting? My wife went through my phone at
- 1:51Speaker 3: 2 a.m.
- 1:52Speaker 4: And now says I don't trust her because I changed
- 1:56Speaker 4: my password.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Am I wrong?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Do you want the honest answer, or do you want
- 2:04Speaker 4: the honest answer?
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'm curious. I want to hear what your response is
- 2:10Speaker 1: to this.
- 2:11Speaker 3: First of all, you are wrong. Second of all, you're
- 2:14Speaker 3: not wrong. And Trey knows I'm right.
- 2:21Speaker 4: So this is a really, really long story, and I
- 2:26Speaker 4: guarantee you it doesn't need to be this long.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Trey told me to skip ahead at certain spots if
- 2:33Speaker 4: I need to.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:35Speaker 4: So this guy says I need some honest opinions because
- 2:38Speaker 4: I don't really know what to think anymore. A few
- 2:40Speaker 4: nights ago, my wife went through my phone while I
- 2:42Speaker 4: was asleep around 2 a.m. I woke up, sorry, sitting
- 2:44Speaker 4: in the corner with my phone. Honestly, it was weird
- 2:47Speaker 4: and uncomfortable. She said she couldn't sleep because she was
- 2:50Speaker 4: overthinking about some old videos from 2022. My phone broke
- 2:54Speaker 4: a while ago. So about six months ago, I backed
- 2:56Speaker 4: up a bunch of old videos and screenshots to a
- 2:58Speaker 4: USB drive. Most of the stuff, 2021 to 2022, before
- 3:02Speaker 4: I even met my now wife. She found pictures of
- 3:06Speaker 4: my ex, other women, screenshots from social media, and some
- 3:09Speaker 4: dating app profiles. She was really hurt, and thanksgiving these
- 3:13Speaker 4: things means I have not moved on. But I had
- 3:21Speaker 4: genuinely forgotten most of those files even existed. Some screenshots
- 3:25Speaker 4: involving my ex were from conversations with a male friend.
- 3:28Speaker 4: I was telling him about things that happened with my ex.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Some dating app screenshots were also things I sent to
- 3:32Speaker 4: my male friend to ask his opinion about certain profiles
- 3:34Speaker 4: or whether he was interested in someone.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That was, again, all years ago before I met my wife.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Can't remember the reason for every screenshot anymore, but I
- 3:41Speaker 4: wasn't sitting there looking at these pictures or keeping them
- 3:43Speaker 4: because I still had feelings for these women. They're just
- 3:46Speaker 4: old files on a USB drive after my phone broke.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I understand my wife was hurt by what she found.
- 3:52Speaker 4: She feels like she's made sacrifices. to avoid making me
- 3:55Speaker 4: uncomfortable about her past, and she thinks I have not
- 3:58Speaker 4: done the same. She also doesn't like that I still
- 4:00Speaker 4: follow my ex and one of her members. And this
- 4:05Speaker 4: is not the first time we've had issues with privacy.
- 4:12Speaker 4: You want to start commenting now, or do you want
- 4:14Speaker 4: me to keep rolling through here?
- 4:19Speaker 2: I mean.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I don't even remember. Yeah, I... Roll with it a
- 4:24Speaker 1: little bit more.
- 4:25Speaker 3: My wife had never been in a relationship before me.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 4: You really want to be that guinea pig? Look, most
- 4:38Speaker 4: of the time as men, we ignore red flags. We're
- 4:40Speaker 4: all about the green flags, right? This is a massive
- 4:44Speaker 4: red flag. You know the American flags that are really
- 4:47Speaker 4: huge when you.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Go down 183? Clay Cooley.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I mean, these are Clay Cooley-sized red flags.
- 4:55Speaker 1: That's what they are.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yeah. Just flapping in the wind.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyways. How old... Did it say how old they are?
- 5:06Speaker 4: Hang on.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Let me see. Let me see. Where did it go?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Wipe going through phone. No, I don't see it. I
- 5:20Speaker 3: don't see any ages.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I mean... if they're young enough, that's not a huge
- 5:25Speaker 1: red flag. Yeah. I don't see any ages.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Boy, that's, it's like, you probably had, I had a
- 5:35Speaker 2: friend who thought it was great when he took a
- 5:39Speaker 2: girl's virginity.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Ooh, no, no.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I was on the opposite end of that spectrum. I
- 5:45Speaker 2: did not want that emotional attachment.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Taking, taking a girl's virginity is one of the, best
- 5:53Speaker 4: examples of if you know you.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Know and.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So you know being a first relationship okay that's you
- 6:05Speaker 2: you gotta know there's gonna be a lot of emotional
- 6:07Speaker 2: immaturity there.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yeah uh he goes on to say i'm her first
- 6:12Speaker 4: boyfriend and we're now married When we were dating, there
- 6:16Speaker 4: were a few times when she wanted my phone and
- 6:18Speaker 4: expected to be able to open and check everything. I
- 6:22Speaker 4: told her I still wanted some privacy, but she got
- 6:25Speaker 4: really upset and cried.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Of course she did. What are you keeping from me?
- 6:30Speaker 3: What are you hiding from me?
- 6:32Speaker 4: If you don't have an answer to that question, then
- 6:36Speaker 4: you give her that phone.
- 6:39Speaker 1: You know.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Because if you have no intention of letting her rifle
- 6:42Speaker 4: through that phone whenever she wants, you better have a
- 6:45Speaker 4: good goddamn reason for it.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Oh, I.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Unless the trust has been breached, I don't want anyone
- 6:55Speaker 2: going through my phone. But at the same time, also,
- 6:59Speaker 2: if she is going to go through my phone, it
- 7:00Speaker 2: would have to be with a caveat of, you're not
- 7:03Speaker 2: my first girlfriend. I have 11,000 pictures from over... 14
- 7:10Speaker 2: years on my phone.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Don't get mad.
- 7:12Speaker 2: If you see something you don't like, I don't, I have,
- 7:15Speaker 2: I don't have time to go through every picture.
- 7:17Speaker 1: On that phone.
- 7:18Speaker 4: No. Especially when a good chunk of those photos, you
- 7:22Speaker 4: weren't even sober for them like you are today.
- 7:24Speaker 3: So you really have no idea what's in those photos.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm getting the saying exactly correct,
- 7:34Speaker 4: but the essence of it is, if you don't want
- 7:38Speaker 4: the answer to something, don't ask the question.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 4: If you don't want to see your partner in compromising
- 7:48Speaker 4: positions or texts or things, don't go rifling through the
- 7:52Speaker 4: phone because if you look hard enough, you'll find something
- 7:56Speaker 4: to be pissed off about, even if it's innocuous.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Well, and this goes for both sexes. There is nothing,
- 8:06Speaker 2: nothing Nothing worse than an insecure partner.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yup.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And yeah, that is a big red flag right there.
- 8:18Speaker 2: If they feel they don't trust you and they feel
- 8:20Speaker 2: the need, they need to check on you, check your phone,
- 8:22Speaker 2: everything else.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Chances are you're doomed.
- 8:27Speaker 4: You have a better chance of surviving cancer than your
- 8:30Speaker 4: relationship does suffering from an insecure partner. Yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Or unless you just are okay just handing over your
- 8:39Speaker 2: balls to them and saying, yeah, whatever you want, sweetie.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Because that's really going to be your life. And I mean,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I have.
- 8:52Speaker 2: A friend who is a woman who I've known for
- 8:55Speaker 2: years and I love her to death, but she's that way.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Like if she's dating somebody, she wants your location better
- 9:02Speaker 2: be on all the time. She wants to know where
- 9:07Speaker 2: you are, and yeah, if you liked an ex's picture
- 9:13Speaker 2: or whatever, she's going to freak out about it.
- 9:16Speaker 3: She will know. She'll find out. Back to our specific
- 9:24Speaker 3: situation here.
- 9:25Speaker 4: He goes on to say, I understand that she sees
- 9:29Speaker 4: sharing passwords as a sign of trust, but I don't
- 9:32Speaker 4: think being married means you can't have any privacy.
- 9:37Speaker 3: There's also some background that might be relevant. Here we go.
- 9:40Speaker 4: My wife's relationship with her parents has been really bad
- 9:42Speaker 4: to the point they've cut contact and she's not particularly
- 9:44Speaker 4: close with her brother either. Because of this, she often
- 9:46Speaker 4: tells me that I'm the only person that she has
- 9:48Speaker 4: left in this world.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Oh, sweet Jesus.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I feel bad that she's in that position and I
- 9:52Speaker 4: want to be there for her. But a friend of
- 9:53Speaker 4: mine once heard her say that and told me he
- 9:55Speaker 4: was worried she might become overly attached to me to
- 9:58Speaker 4: the point where it could turn into obsession.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Or controlling behavior.
- 10:01Speaker 1: You think?
- 10:02Speaker 4: I didn't know what to make of it at the time,
- 10:03Speaker 4: but some things that have happened lately have made me
- 10:05Speaker 4: think about it again. After she went through my phone
- 10:07Speaker 4: that night, I changed my password, removed her fingerprint access.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I did it because I felt uncomfortable knowing she could
- 10:12Speaker 4: go through my phone while I was asleep and delete
- 10:14Speaker 4: things without asking me. Then she got so upset about
- 10:18Speaker 4: the password change, she left the house, saying she wanted
- 10:20Speaker 4: to go for a walk. I ended up having to
- 10:21Speaker 4: chase after her. She said changing my password meant I
- 10:23Speaker 4: didn't trust her anymore. I understand why she feels hurt.
- 10:26Speaker 4: From her perspective, I took away the access she previously had.
- 10:28Speaker 4: From my perspective, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Blah, blah.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I'm not saying she had bad intentions. She was anxious
- 10:33Speaker 3: and upset.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I can understand that finding these old photos hurt her,
- 10:35Speaker 4: but I don't think it makes it okay to go
- 10:36Speaker 4: through my phone without permission.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'm going to skip ahead.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I love my wife, and I don't want to make
- 10:40Speaker 4: her feel alone. I'm going to skip ahead again. Am
- 10:42Speaker 4: I overthinking this, or is this becoming unhealthy dynamics?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Also, run this through ChatGPT and say, hey, can you
- 10:52Speaker 4: make this.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Brief, please?
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, first of all, first boyfriend, and if she's estranged
- 11:00Speaker 2: from all her family, another big red flag.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And yeah, you are setting yourself up.
- 11:07Speaker 3: From the Clay Cooley family of big red flags.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean... And yeah, you're her only. Yeah. Oh, God,
- 11:17Speaker 1: that's no, no, no, no, no. Because I mean.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I mean, I can't even imagine Tara ever wanting to
- 11:26Speaker 2: go through your phone. I just don't ever see y'all having.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That kind of relationship.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Not in that way.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Like, yeah, she uses my phone all the time because
- 11:37Speaker 4: like she'll be like, hey, do you have and I'm
- 11:39Speaker 4: just like, just take it.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I don't just take.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I am such an open book when it comes to
- 11:43Speaker 4: that stuff. I, cause I, I am a faithful partner.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I am not sending weird messages to anybody. I'm not
- 11:49Speaker 4: sliding into anybody's DMS. So just here's my phone. You
- 11:53Speaker 4: want to run away with it?
- 11:55Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 11:55Speaker 4: There is nothing on there that is incriminating in any way.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Cause I've done nothing incriminating. So it really doesn't bother
- 12:02Speaker 4: me that she has access to my phone. So when you,
- 12:08Speaker 4: when you want to plant that privacy flag, You just
- 12:12Speaker 4: got to be real careful with it because while you
- 12:14Speaker 4: may have the moral high ground, the relationship is going
- 12:18Speaker 4: to suffer.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Now, it may not be your fault.
- 12:22Speaker 4: She may have been cheat like Trey, like you mentioned
- 12:24Speaker 4: your friend. She may have been cheated on in the past,
- 12:27Speaker 4: maybe multiple times to the point where she is not
- 12:30Speaker 4: trustworthy or she does not trust people.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Including you. That's not entirely your fault and it's not
- 12:36Speaker 3: entirely her fault.
- 12:37Speaker 4: That's just a really big hurdle that you two have
- 12:40Speaker 4: to figure out how to jump off.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Unless you want to be, you're basically going to be
- 12:47Speaker 2: in a codependent relationship with someone for the rest of
- 12:50Speaker 2: your life, you need to run away. Cut your losses
- 12:52Speaker 2: now because, I mean, that is just a huge emotional,
- 12:57Speaker 2: psychological burden. She's basically saying, you're all I've got. Which,
- 13:08Speaker 2: as someone who does not have really any family left,
- 13:10Speaker 2: I have one person left, I can understand, but not.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Not in that sense. And like I said, I would
- 13:21Speaker 1: want to know more about why she's estranged from her
- 13:23Speaker 1: parents and her brother. Yeah. Because it sounds like there
- 13:27Speaker 1: might be some psychological issues there.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Just maybe.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Just a skosher. You might want to learn to sleep
- 13:35Speaker 1: with one eye open.
- 13:40Speaker 3: At all times.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Not that I'm you know, a proponent of, of cheating
- 13:47Speaker 4: on your partner. I'm a big believer in if, if you,
- 13:50Speaker 4: if you want to cheat on your partner, you just
- 13:52Speaker 4: shouldn't be in a relationship.
- 13:54Speaker 3: So just stop it.
- 13:57Speaker 4: But if you really are truly trying to hide some stuff,
- 14:00Speaker 4: you just have to have a burner phone. It's just
- 14:02Speaker 4: got to keep it hidden somewhere else. Cause once, once
- 14:07Speaker 4: someone asks, Hey, can I borrow your phone? And you
- 14:10Speaker 4: say no, and you lock it down, that's going to
- 14:13Speaker 4: be a fight.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm with you.
- 14:19Speaker 4: And again, you may have the moral high ground. You
- 14:21Speaker 4: may be ultimately correct. But in relationships, that don't matter. Well,
- 14:27Speaker 4: what are you hiding?
- 14:29Speaker 2: And that's where, you know, I never, I know sometimes
- 14:31Speaker 2: like we were ordering food, whatever.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'd give Brandy my phone and be like, yeah, hey, whatever.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And vice versa.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Dash away.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And I think, and that goes with, again, the caveat of,
- 14:46Speaker 2: I don't know everything that's on there. You can't, you
- 14:50Speaker 2: can't hold my past against me. I've been very honest.
- 14:53Speaker 1: About it, but you know, it's like we're old enough.
- 14:58Speaker 1: We know there's previous relationships. It is what it is.
- 15:01Speaker 2: And yeah, if she's upset that you've just because you're
- 15:06Speaker 2: her first, that, you know, she's not your first, you're,
- 15:10Speaker 2: you're just, man, that guy's just screwed pretty much.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I don't need to know how old these two are
- 15:18Speaker 3: to know that they're young.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Yes, young, and she's probably really young.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Even if she's 25, she's probably mentally 15. So, buddy,
- 15:36Speaker 4: she needs to find herself, and she's not going to
- 15:38Speaker 4: find herself being attached to you.
- 15:42Speaker 3: This relationship is done.
- 15:46Speaker 2: You, however, may find yourself attached to the bad end
- 15:49Speaker 2: of a knife.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Please leave for your own physical and mental safety.
- 15:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Let's do a quick segue here.
- 16:03Speaker 4: While this young woman doesn't have a whole lot of experience,
- 16:08Speaker 4: there is another end of the spectrum. And that is
- 16:10Speaker 4: having so much experience as a woman where an OBGYN
- 16:14Speaker 4: has to tell you, don't F trees.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Okay. Yep.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Do I have your attention?
- 16:22Speaker 1: You do.
- 16:24Speaker 4: An Ob-Gyn's dire warning is in response to the Wicker
- 16:28Speaker 4: movie trend.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Oh, no. Yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 3: So did you see the trailer for Wicker?
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:35Speaker 4: So monster smut is a real thing. And in this case,
- 16:39Speaker 4: it's not really monster as much as it is sort
- 16:41Speaker 4: of inanimate objects coming to life and screwing your brains out.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So for, I can't even remember who's in the movie,
- 16:51Speaker 2: but basically a woman cast a spell and, and a
- 16:57Speaker 2: wicker man is created and he rocks her. Like from
- 17:01Speaker 2: the preview, they bang all the time and he rocks
- 17:03Speaker 2: her world.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Because, I mean, look, I imagine he's pretty excited.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Look, if the first two or three decades of your
- 17:09Speaker 4: life are just sitting in the living room, not doing anything,
- 17:11Speaker 4: and all of a sudden you're awake and you've got
- 17:13Speaker 4: a thingy that works, yeah, I imagine you'll be ready
- 17:15Speaker 4: to plow anything that moves.
- 17:17Speaker 3: And he does. Really good, too, apparently.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 3: The problem is, though.
- 17:26Speaker 1: People are stupid.
- 17:29Speaker 3: So you've seen the story.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 4: It is sad, sad, sad, but true. So now you
- 17:38Speaker 4: have these fantasies inspired by this new movie, Wicker, and
- 17:42Speaker 4: now they are, of course, coming out of the woodwork.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Since the trailer came out in July, women have been
- 17:47Speaker 4: thirsting over the Wicker Alexander Skarsgård and the character's stamina
- 17:53Speaker 4: in the bedroom. Some women have even taken to the
- 17:56Speaker 4: internet to share some hilarious takes on their newfound fascination.
- 18:02Speaker 3: According to an OBGYN, Dr.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Amy Novak.
- 18:06Speaker 4: She says this is particularly freaky fetish and it needs
- 18:11Speaker 4: to stay a daydream because any real-life exploration could go
- 18:14Speaker 4: catastrophically wrong. Women are suddenly looking at their wicker furniture
- 18:22Speaker 4: in a totally different way, sometimes caressing and cuddling them.
- 18:26Speaker 4: One raised an eyebrow at a hand-shaped wicker basket while
- 18:30Speaker 4: others can't keep their mind off the idea of man-shaped
- 18:33Speaker 4: wicker while browsing home stores. So imagine going into HomeGoods
- 18:38Speaker 4: and seeing it like it's a new fine arts. Like
- 18:41Speaker 4: right now, all the autumn wicker cornucopias are out. You
- 18:45Speaker 4: think it's for table decoration? If you come home early
- 18:48Speaker 4: one day, your wife might be humping it as the centerpiece.
- 18:54Speaker 1: First of all, splinters. Yes. Does that not concern anyone?
- 19:00Speaker 4: That's what the OBGYN is trying to tell people. It's like,
- 19:03Speaker 4: don't screw your wicker furniture because splinters.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Now I just see it. You know how potheads can
- 19:12Speaker 1: make a bong out of anything if they need to?
- 19:16Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 19:16Speaker 2: So now this is women in wicker. They're just going
- 19:22Speaker 2: to fashion themselves some.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Phallic things.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Some wicker dongs.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I guarantee you, I've not been to New Fine Arts
- 19:33Speaker 4: in a crazy long time, but I guarantee you somewhere
- 19:36Speaker 4: in that store, if not yet, there will be some
- 19:42Speaker 4: sort of wicker-styled adult toy.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Safe, though. It'll have the look, maybe some kind of
- 19:47Speaker 3: a feel, but none of the splinters.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Tell me more about it, Dan.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Look, I endorsed him for a good while.
- 19:53Speaker 4: I'm not going to endorse anything unless I've at least
- 19:56Speaker 4: been there and, you know, looked around.
- 20:04Speaker 3: And that's all I have to say about that.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Let's get Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration
- 20:11Speaker 4: in the Treehouse for your free roof inspection and property review.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Call 833-COOK-DFW today to get that scheduled. 833-COOK-DFW. The website
- 20:21Speaker 4: is cookdfw.com. Daniel, part of the roofing process is knowing
- 20:27Speaker 4: about ventilation and how important that can be to the
- 20:30Speaker 4: life of the roof. That's something you guys look at.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It's not just about shingles.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, Dan.
- 20:36Speaker 5: A lot of homeowners underestimate the amount of attic heat
- 20:40Speaker 5: buildup that their home has. Affects their AC system, affects
- 20:45Speaker 5: their roof condition long term, affects just overall their home.
- 20:49Speaker 5: And so when we come out, we make that assessment
- 20:52Speaker 5: with the homeowner. We try to educate them, make sure
- 20:54Speaker 5: they have the proper ventilation. There is a calculation of this.
- 20:58Speaker 5: We walk them around. If they're interested in going around,
- 21:00Speaker 5: we show them what their intakes look like, what their
- 21:02Speaker 5: exhaust system looks like. And try to make the best
- 21:04Speaker 5: fit for their home. So that's a very common thing
- 21:06Speaker 5: that we do. And it should be done every time
- 21:08Speaker 5: you have construction done at your property. You need to
- 21:10Speaker 5: be educated on what's happening and why.
- 21:14Speaker 4: And if you've ever dealt with a roofing contractor that
- 21:17Speaker 4: didn't have a conversation with you about ventilation underneath that roof,
- 21:23Speaker 4: then you need to call Daniel Cook at 833-COOK-DFW. So
- 21:28Speaker 4: you get the full customer service experience that comes from
- 21:32Speaker 4: Cook DFW. So use that number, 833-COOK-DFW. Get that free
- 21:36Speaker 4: inspection scheduled today. 833-COOK-DFW and the website, cookdfw.com. This segment

- 21:56Speaker 4: From spring storms, summer heat, more summer storms, random dust-ups

- 22:06Speaker 4: other day, get a free roof inspection scheduled today by
- 22:10Speaker 4: calling 833-COOK-DFW. And while they're there, they'll walk around the

- 22:16Speaker 4: And the best part is, if there aren't any issues,
- 22:20Speaker 4: they'll be honest about it with you. They're not going
- 22:22Speaker 4: to go around and knock stuff over or break stuff
- 22:24Speaker 4: just to find something. If your house is in great shape,
- 22:28Speaker 4: they'll let you know. Honesty, integrity, that's what the cooks
- 22:32Speaker 4: are known for. And that's why we recommend them here
- 22:36Speaker 4: inside the treehouse. So get all that scheduled today.
- 22:38Speaker 3: It's free. 833-COOK-DFW. Tell them you heard about them right
- 22:41Speaker 3: here inside the treehouse. I'm Dan. He's Trey. Today is Tuesday,
- 22:46Speaker 3: October 20th, 2026. Let's celebrate today with some celebrity birthdays.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Man, it is a good day for birthdays inside the treehouse.
- 23:02Speaker 4: We are going to start with the Dallas Wings, Paige Beckers.
- 23:07Speaker 4: She is 25 today. She was, I believe, last year, yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 4: the number one pick in the 2025 WNBA drafts to
- 23:17Speaker 4: the Dallas Wings. And this year they made the playoffs.
- 23:21Speaker 4: So good turnaround, good draft pick already.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Quietly, actually one of the best players in the league.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Which is great because, I mean, Caitlin Clark's taking all
- 23:32Speaker 4: the attention and all the punishment, and Paige Beckers is like, cool,
- 23:35Speaker 4: I'll just keep balling over here without getting my ass
- 23:37Speaker 4: kicked every night.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Other birthdays.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Candice Swainpole is 38. She is a South African supermodel
- 23:45Speaker 4: and longtime Victoria's Secret angel. I'm not even sure if
- 23:48Speaker 4: those even exist anymore.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I know they don't do shows anymore.
- 23:51Speaker 1: No, they just did one. Oh, they did?
- 23:53Speaker 3: They brought it back?
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yep. Damn it. I missed it.
- 23:58Speaker 4: That was how I knew I had a good one
- 24:00Speaker 4: in tarot is when she was, uh, when we first
- 24:01Speaker 4: started dating and she was like, Ooh, the Victoria's secret
- 24:04Speaker 4: fashion show is, is like tomorrow night. And I thought
- 24:07Speaker 4: it was a test.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I don't think they televise it anymore, but I just
- 24:11Speaker 2: saw clips.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Cause it was like Megan, the stallion one. And, uh,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I forgot. Yeah. They did the musical acts along with
- 24:17Speaker 1: the walks. Um, Oh, nice.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I had no idea.
- 24:21Speaker 4: She loved the show. It's got concert and undies and stuff.
- 24:25Speaker 4: And as a guy, I'm like, I'm going to marry you.
- 24:31Speaker 4: John Krasinski is 47. Best known as Jim from The Office,
- 24:37Speaker 4: but you know what? Dude is making a hell of
- 24:39Speaker 4: a name for himself in Hollywood post-Jim, not only as
- 24:42Speaker 4: an actor, but as a director.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Well, and.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You know, I never would have pegged him as action star,
- 24:51Speaker 2: but he, his Jack Ryan stuff is excellent.
- 24:55Speaker 3: It's a lot of fun, man. Those are really good movies.
- 24:58Speaker 1: The show, the movie.
- 24:59Speaker 2: And from what I understand, uh, I mean the, the
- 25:03Speaker 2: first movie, I think they did three seasons of the
- 25:06Speaker 2: show than a movie. And I believe they're talking about
- 25:08Speaker 2: doing another movie because the first one did so well.
- 25:10Speaker 3: They should. I mean, I'll say this. I really enjoyed
- 25:13Speaker 3: the show.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Uh, the end of the first season, they left a
- 25:18Speaker 4: massive sort of cliffhanger, like loose end. And they just
- 25:21Speaker 4: never went back and did anything with it, but whatever. Um,
- 25:24Speaker 4: I really enjoyed the show. The movie to me was okay.
- 25:28Speaker 4: It was a good action movie. Uh, I wouldn't call
- 25:31Speaker 4: it one of the best films of the year, but
- 25:32Speaker 4: I certainly watched it and it was entertained.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 3: It wasn't, I mean, it wasn't the hunt for red
- 25:38Speaker 3: October level, but I mean, it was good.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Oh, I wouldn't even, you know, yeah. Give it Patriot
- 25:43Speaker 2: games or anything, but, uh, in this day and age.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But I thought the show was really good. And you
- 25:53Speaker 2: know you're not going to get the same results in
- 25:55Speaker 2: an hour and a half movie versus what you've gotten
- 25:57Speaker 2: in a show. But like I said, Loki really just
- 26:03Speaker 2: turned into one hell of an action star.
- 26:06Speaker 4: He also wrote and directed A Quiet Place. I need
- 26:12Speaker 4: to correct myself on that. I don't know if he
- 26:14Speaker 4: wrote the screenplay. But I know he directed it. I
- 26:19Speaker 4: want to say he had a role in the writing
- 26:21Speaker 4: of it somehow.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You know, banging Emily Blunt, you're doing all right.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Have you ever heard their story? It's really cute.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Apparently he was a really big fan of The Devil
- 26:32Speaker 4: Wears Prada because Emily Blunt was in it and he
- 26:35Speaker 4: had himself a little crush.
- 26:37Speaker 3: On Emily Blunt.
- 26:38Speaker 4: And the dude put a ring on it at the
- 26:40Speaker 4: end of like, what can't that guy do? First, he
- 26:42Speaker 4: gets Pam from the office and then Emily Blunt from
- 26:45Speaker 4: the devil's work from the devil wears Prada at a
- 26:47Speaker 4: boy gym. Snoop Dogg is 55.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Damn Snoop. I am.
- 26:57Speaker 4: We are now old enough to remember our gangster rappers
- 27:00Speaker 4: from 30 years ago now being mainstream stars and some
- 27:05Speaker 4: of them even playing rock. police officers and TV shows
- 27:09Speaker 4: where in the past they called for the murder of cops.
- 27:12Speaker 3: I'm looking at you ice tea.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, ice cube does Disney movies and Snoop.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Snoop does the Olympics.
- 27:22Speaker 1: He's besties with Martha Stewart. This is a guy 30
- 27:25Speaker 1: years ago. And you really.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Had to be alive at that time to understand this.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Calvin brought us is his real name. And after he
- 27:35Speaker 2: was dog pound got so big, He went on trial
- 27:38Speaker 2: for murder. It was an MTV newsflash every day about
- 27:43Speaker 2: the murder trial of Snoop, a.k.a. Calvin Broadus. And for
- 27:48Speaker 2: him to now, he is the spokesman for so many things.
- 27:53Speaker 2: He is loved by young and old alike. His best
- 27:57Speaker 2: friend is Martha Stewart. It is one of the most
- 27:59Speaker 2: remarkable transformations. Everything I've always heard about him in red,
- 28:05Speaker 2: he's a good guy. Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 1: He just, you know, he likes his weed.
- 28:10Speaker 3: He sure does.
- 28:11Speaker 4: And at one point he had like a porn production
- 28:15Speaker 4: company or something. I mean, the man's really done it all.
- 28:18Speaker 4: But think back 30 years ago. Imagine not only Martha
- 28:23Speaker 4: Stewart and Snoop Dogg being besties, but if I was
- 28:27Speaker 4: to tell you 30 years ago, one of these two
- 28:29Speaker 4: is going to end up in federal prison.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 3: We all know who it was that you would guess.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Turning 57 today.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Juan Gonzalez, former Texas Ranger, American League MVP.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 28:48Speaker 4: That is a love-hate relationship when it comes to my
- 28:50Speaker 4: Texas Rangers. Because on one hand, I love Juan Gonzalez.
- 28:53Speaker 4: On the other hand, it's like, dude, you really can't
- 28:56Speaker 4: lay off that in-the-dirt slider?
- 28:57Speaker 3: I mean, come on.
- 28:58Speaker 4: No.
- 28:59Speaker 3: He couldn't.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I forget. Was he one of the ones we're questioning
- 29:02Speaker 1: his age? Maybe.
- 29:05Speaker 4: So it says here he's 57. That dude could be
- 29:07Speaker 4: 68 for all we know.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Well, there was a string of players that, yeah, they
- 29:18Speaker 1: might have been older.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Might have been fudging some birth certificates. William Zabka turned
- 29:28Speaker 4: 61 today, best known as Johnny Lawrence in The Karate
- 29:32Speaker 4: Kid and Cobra Kai.
- 29:35Speaker 3: He's also one of the definitive movie bullies of the 80s.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Because not only was he the bully like the bad
- 29:41Speaker 4: guy bully in in the karate kid unless you subscribe
- 29:45Speaker 4: to the alternate theory of that film which is pretty
- 29:48Speaker 4: funny in its own.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Right but he was even the bad guy opposite um.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Rodney dangerfield in back to school So Rodney Dangerfield goes
- 29:59Speaker 4: back to school. His son's on the diving team. The
- 30:02Speaker 4: a-hole blonde bully on the diving team bullying his son,
- 30:05Speaker 4: William Zabka.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he kind of got typecast into that role.
- 30:11Speaker 4: He really did. There's been a few of those guys
- 30:13Speaker 4: that were in the 80s. They couldn't break out of it.
- 30:15Speaker 4: And eventually, William Zabka was kind of able to, thanks
- 30:18Speaker 4: in large part, to How I Met Your Mother and
- 30:25Speaker 4: Doogie Howser.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Sorry, Neil Patrick Harris.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Because his character, Barney Stintz, was a huge William Zabka fan,
- 30:32Speaker 4: and they end up meeting in real life on the show,
- 30:34Speaker 4: and William Zabka's career kind of has a resurgence. And then, obviously,
- 30:37Speaker 4: Cobra Kai happened, and that's a whole other thing. Happy birthday,
- 30:41Speaker 4: William Zabka, 61. Are you familiar with the alternate perspective
- 30:48Speaker 4: on the Karate Kid, and that the Karate Kid is
- 30:50Speaker 4: not the hero, but he's, in fact, the villain?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Oh, that Zabka is the true Karate Kid.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and that he's the hero?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 3: That's a fascinating wormhole.
- 31:00Speaker 4: If you've never gone down it, highly recommend here inside
- 31:03Speaker 4: the treehouse. It's not quite the same as watching loose
- 31:08Speaker 4: change based on 9-11, but this one to me is
- 31:12Speaker 4: more credible. It's more credible to me that Johnny Lawrence
- 31:18Speaker 4: is the good guy in the Karate Kid than the
- 31:21Speaker 4: government actually pulled 9-11. Other birthdays today. Oscar-winning director Danny
- 31:28Speaker 4: Boyle is 70. Some of his big hits, Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting,
- 31:32Speaker 4: 28 Days Later, and 127 Hours.
- 31:35Speaker 3: That's an.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Interesting set of movies. Good Lord.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Man's got range.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Tom Petty would have been 76. I don't know how.
- 31:48Speaker 4: I thought he was 76 when he died.
- 31:52Speaker 1: God, how... Yeah. So he was in his 60s when
- 31:59Speaker 1: he died? Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he died in 2017. So, wow. 19 years ago.
- 32:08Speaker 1: No, nine years ago. 2007 or 2017?
- 32:12Speaker 3: 17.
- 32:12Speaker 1: That's nine.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Everything to me lately seems like it's 20 years ago.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So I'm just, yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Also, I can't do math, clearly. Uh, see, did I
- 32:24Speaker 3: miss anything?
- 32:25Speaker 2: He's one of those artists that I, I I'll say
- 32:27Speaker 2: this as I've gotten older, for some reason, his music has.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Grown on me.
- 32:34Speaker 4: I love Tom Petty when, uh, it was such a
- 32:38Speaker 4: weird thing watching MTV back in the day, because there'd
- 32:42Speaker 4: be all these songs, right?
- 32:44Speaker 3: From rap and pop.
- 32:46Speaker 4: And then out of nowhere, here comes Tom Petty with
- 32:49Speaker 4: free fallen or Mary Jane's last dance. And they're like,
- 32:52Speaker 4: Like I think Mary Jane's last dance was number one
- 32:54Speaker 4: on TRL for a few days or something.
- 32:57Speaker 3: I mean, uh, I was like the mid nineties, uh,
- 33:02Speaker 3: his album wildflowers came out.
- 33:05Speaker 4: I played, there were two, two of my favorite albums from,
- 33:08Speaker 4: from high school, Earl jam's vitality and Tom Petty's wildflowers.
- 33:13Speaker 3: I played it. I played the hell out of both
- 33:15Speaker 3: of those.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I love Tom Petty.
- 33:17Speaker 2: He is the one who famously I read that I
- 33:20Speaker 2: was going out with a girl and she was She
- 33:22Speaker 2: was like, there's a Tom Petty cover band tonight.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Let's go see them. I'm like, I don't like Tom Petty.
- 33:28Speaker 1: She's like, but they're really good.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I go, if I don't like Tom Petty, guess what
- 33:38Speaker 2: I'm really not going to like? The knockoff.
- 33:44Speaker 4: I don't want to see the tribute to Tom Petty
- 33:46Speaker 4: if I don't actually like the Tom Petty.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I don't want to see a copy of the copy.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Do you feel restless and anxious? Feel like something's missing

- 34:44Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Um, Last little bit here inside the treehouse. Trey, I
- 34:50Speaker 4: don't think you need constant reminders of why you are
- 34:53Speaker 4: sober and have been so for, you know, over 10 years.
- 34:58Speaker 4: But on occasion, the news throws things at us that
- 35:02Speaker 4: I think help reinforce your sober decision.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:10Speaker 4: A teacher went out for a booze run, but she
- 35:12Speaker 4: crashed her car and then locked herself in the school bathroom. Hmm.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I mean, is that rock bottom?
- 35:27Speaker 1: That's gotta be close. I mean, listen, I understand why
- 35:31Speaker 1: teachers drink.
- 35:35Speaker 4: If you've ever, if you've ever known a teacher or
- 35:38Speaker 4: if you've ever had any in your.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Family, you'll understand.
- 35:42Speaker 4: I'm, I'm surprised, but my, my family full of teachers,
- 35:45Speaker 4: I'm surprised they didn't drink more.
- 35:47Speaker 2: And if you, especially if, if you went through COVID and,
- 35:51Speaker 2: and were witness to homeschooling, you understand why teachers drink.
- 35:58Speaker 4: And that's when the Stanley craze hit because they could
- 36:01Speaker 4: put whatever.
- 36:01Speaker 3: They wanted in those giant sippy cups.
- 36:04Speaker 1: No, they did.
- 36:05Speaker 3: And I don't blame them.
- 36:08Speaker 4: So one, a first grade teacher is accused of leaving
- 36:12Speaker 4: school at lunchtime to go get some booze. And then
- 36:15Speaker 4: she crashed on her way back to school, And she
- 36:18Speaker 4: ran inside and locked herself in a school bathroom while
- 36:21Speaker 4: all while her students were left unattended.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there's whoops.
- 36:26Speaker 3: If you're going to do it, at least leave a
- 36:28Speaker 3: teacher's aid.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, at least go. Can you check in on them?
- 36:34Speaker 4: Slip out at recess. Don't don't do it like in
- 36:36Speaker 4: the middle of arithmetic. Oh, man, this is this happened
- 36:41Speaker 4: in Pennsylvania. Catherine Viviano, 50 years old, a first grade
- 36:45Speaker 4: teacher at Pleasant Valley Elementary in McMurray, Pennsylvania, charged with
- 36:49Speaker 4: public drunkenness following the chaotic incident on October 8th. Investigators
- 36:54Speaker 4: say the drama began around 11 a.m. when surveillance footage
- 36:56Speaker 4: showed her leaving school, driving to a nearby liquor store.
- 37:01Speaker 4: And then it was reported the footage captured her entire
- 37:04Speaker 4: trip and police alleged she bought alcohol, then returned to school.
- 37:09Speaker 4: And that's where she's accused of backing her car into
- 37:11Speaker 4: another parked vehicle in the school parking lot before staggering
- 37:15Speaker 4: back inside. Then police say her first grade class was
- 37:19Speaker 4: left entirely unattended while she was gone. I at least
- 37:23Speaker 4: hope that since it's first grade, like maybe it was
- 37:25Speaker 4: nap time.
- 37:28Speaker 3: And thought she had a little free time to go.
- 37:33Speaker 1: You know, you remember, I.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Feel like I, I, I can't remember if this was
- 37:42Speaker 2: really kind of pre, I feel like maybe it was
- 37:44Speaker 2: pre nine to 11, late nineties when all of a
- 37:47Speaker 2: sudden they figured out that a lot of pilots were,
- 37:50Speaker 2: were flying with, uh, uh, a reasonably high BAC, like
- 37:57Speaker 2: pilots were having some cocktails before they, you know, flew.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Like it wasn't just first class getting the mimosas.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 38:06Speaker 2: You know, and, uh, I'm starting to wonder if you
- 38:12Speaker 2: started breathalyzing all the teachers.
- 38:15Speaker 3: We're going to have a real shortage.
- 38:24Speaker 2: COVID will look like child's play.
- 38:26Speaker 3: That's right.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Is your school virtual now? The school isn't, but Mrs.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Matlock is because she's behind bars.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Oh, man, you got to talk on the phone to
- 38:48Speaker 1: talk to the class.
- 38:49Speaker 3: That's right. Oh, man, you don't want your name on
- 38:52Speaker 3: the board in that room.
- 38:53Speaker 4: All right, that'll take care of us here on this
- 38:57Speaker 4: episode of The Treehouse Show. We'll see you back here
- 38:59Speaker 4: tomorrow inside The Treehouse.
