- 0:00Speaker 1: So, coach Daily, what do you think of the afternoon?
- 0:03Speaker 1: Your team looked from our perspective, pretty darn good.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We played well. You know, I thought we handled their
- 0:08Speaker 2: pressure well and we only turned the ball again over
- 0:12Speaker 2: against pressure when we made some bad decisions. But you know,
- 0:17Speaker 2: I thought we did a really good job on Jelanna Cambridge.
- 0:20Speaker 2: She's a terrivic player, perfect example. You know, KK did
- 0:23Speaker 2: not score, but did a tremendous job on Jelani and
- 0:27Speaker 2: you know, helped for seven turnovers. So that just says
- 0:31Speaker 2: a lot about our team. You know, I think the
- 0:34Speaker 2: way we just step up and do the next thing,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and KK was willing to do that, didn't have to
- 0:39Speaker 2: score and had an impact on the game.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And talk about the defense, you know, first quarter, they
- 0:44Speaker 1: seemed it was a track meet, practically everybody up and down,
- 0:47Speaker 1: both teams shooting pretty hot. Changes in the second quarter,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and I know much is made about Sarah's strong scoring,
- 0:52Speaker 1: but she seemed to have a lot of deflections and
- 0:54Speaker 1: being a big impact on defense everywhere too.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Well. Yeah, in the first quarter, ny came ended up
- 1:01Speaker 2: making three threes. That's not what she does, and that
- 1:04Speaker 2: kind of these scored nine points off you know, a
- 1:07Speaker 2: player that we were okay with shooting three, finished with
- 1:10Speaker 2: I think only one point after that, but it was
- 1:13Speaker 2: to track meet the first quarter. But second quarter, I
- 1:15Speaker 2: think we turned it up a notch defensively, and as
- 1:17Speaker 2: she said, Sarah Sarah Strong just has great feet and
- 1:20Speaker 2: great hands. She has a sense of where the ball's going.
- 1:24Speaker 2: She makes tremendous plays, and I thought, you know, she
- 1:26Speaker 2: flirted with a triple double with the assist with finishing
- 1:30Speaker 2: with seven assists and thirteen rebounds twenty nine points. But
- 1:35Speaker 2: she's just you know, she's she can do anything. You know,
- 1:38Speaker 2: she's a point forward. She handles the ball, she handled
- 1:41Speaker 2: the ball against pressure, made good decisions, So happy for her,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and she just makes us a better team. And then Blanca,
- 1:48Speaker 2: I thought, gave us some good minutes before she lost
- 1:51Speaker 2: her mind with her turnovers. Gave us some good minutes
- 1:54Speaker 2: off the bench, so that helped. And Sarah Williams started
- 1:57Speaker 2: off really strong. And maybe we have to play big
- 2:00Speaker 2: ten teams and make her play like that right from
- 2:02Speaker 2: the get go. But I thought she gave us a
- 2:04Speaker 2: great start in the first quarter.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Right I thought, you know, it just seemed that she
- 2:08Speaker 1: wanted that ball, and I don't know if it was
- 2:10Speaker 1: by design, but you seem to have textbook plays where
- 2:13Speaker 1: on the block she was getting the ball and getting
- 2:14Speaker 1: the score.
- 2:15Speaker 2: She did a really good job, I think, getting position
- 2:17Speaker 2: and taking advantage of her matchup against their players. So
- 2:23Speaker 2: I was happy for her. I thought she did a
- 2:25Speaker 2: nice job.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So all in all, you say, I want to grow on,
- 2:29Speaker 1: But knowing that what's looking ahead, you will be not
- 2:33Speaker 1: to skip ahead. You will be having another Big ten team.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Is it something it's the style of player? Will you
- 2:38Speaker 1: see two different types? No?
- 2:40Speaker 2: I think I think against Michigan we're going to see
- 2:43Speaker 2: something similar and similar to ourselves. Where they press, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 2: they put pressure on the ball, they get out and transition.
- 2:50Speaker 2: They've got two really dynamic guards who've had a great
- 2:54Speaker 2: freshman year, and both of them start off really well sophomores.
- 2:58Speaker 2: But you know, I think it's all these are contest.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It's really the challenge of who can do what they
- 3:03Speaker 2: do well better. And today we were better than Ohio
- 3:06Speaker 2: State at handling their pressure than they were able to
- 3:09Speaker 2: handle ours. And you know, on offense, we're willing to
- 3:12Speaker 2: make the extra pass. We had thirty assists on thirty
- 3:15Speaker 2: nine buckets. So we're an unselfish team and that'll be
- 3:20Speaker 2: the same. I mean, we're going to enjoy this one
- 3:23Speaker 2: today and we'll look at film from this game and
- 3:26Speaker 2: have off on Tuesday and then get ready for Michigan Wednesday,
- 3:29Speaker 2: Thursday and play Friday.
- 3:30Speaker 1: All right, well, thank you, thank That is the Daily Report.
