- 0:01Speaker 1: Get it off your test to promise you'll feel better.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Welcome to the dirty Little Secret. Makes one of two
- 0:06Speaker 2: point nine, let's do it. It's failing. The kid canvases here,
- 0:08Speaker 2: and so is Pooh. And your secret today three to
- 0:11Speaker 2: three seven eight seven, one oh two nine if you
- 0:13Speaker 2: have one. It's a no judgment zone for the most part.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We might say our opinions and you know whatever, but
- 0:19Speaker 2: we'll try. We got to talk it through. You got
- 0:21Speaker 2: to stay open minded when it comes to these steps, right,
- 0:24Speaker 2: So get it off your chest and you got one.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Well, my husband and I went to a huge Fourth
- 0:29Speaker 1: of July party with our group of friends, and we've
- 0:32Speaker 1: all known each other since college, and we're talking about
- 0:35Speaker 1: a big party. There were maybe sixty seventy people there. Well,
- 0:39Speaker 1: at one point, my husband was inside and I was
- 0:43Speaker 1: just sitting by the fire when my friend's husband came
- 0:46Speaker 1: over and sat down next to me, which seemed normal, right.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I've known him forever, he's been married for years. He's
- 0:55Speaker 1: one of those guys you would never ever expect to
- 0:58Speaker 1: cross a line. Oh god, Yeah, he wasn't stumbling around
- 1:02Speaker 1: drunk either, So he sits down next to me like
- 1:05Speaker 1: flops himself down, and he looked at me and said,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I know this is coming out of nowhere, but I
- 1:11Speaker 1: feel like I got to say it. I've always been
- 1:13Speaker 1: in love with you.
- 1:15Speaker 2: What He's always been in love with you?
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yes, yes, in love. I thought he was joking.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I really did, But how do you know he wasn't.
- 1:28Speaker 2: He wasn't for sure, he wasn't, and he wasn't drunk.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So he's just coming out of nowhere and saying this.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, just just what I mean.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I was flabb or, like, what do you even say?
- 1:39Speaker 2: How do you react when this happens? I don't know
- 1:41Speaker 2: what I would do.
- 1:43Speaker 1: My words just got caught in my throat. But he continued,
- 1:48Speaker 1: so I didn't have to say anything yet. He told
- 1:50Speaker 1: me that he'd always felt this like special connection and
- 1:55Speaker 1: that sometimes he wonders if he married the wrong woman.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Oh god, oh come on man, you two never had
- 2:02Speaker 2: anything like any kind of weird things beforehand or in
- 2:06Speaker 2: the past. It's because you said you've known each other
- 2:08Speaker 2: not at all.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's the crazy part. There was never some secret romance
- 2:14Speaker 1: or almost relationship. We've just known each other forever. Yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and we're all in the same friend group period. That's it, right,
- 2:22Speaker 1: So I keep replaying this moment because I wish I
- 2:26Speaker 1: had shut it down immediately. I wish i'd said stop,
- 2:30Speaker 1: don't say that. Instead, all I could get out was
- 2:33Speaker 1: I don't know what to say.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So you said so, you said, I don't So you
- 2:39Speaker 2: told him after he says this, you say, I don't
- 2:41Speaker 2: know what to say, you know, because.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It was just so shocking, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:46Speaker 1: like you either have a lot to say or nothing.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It's like fight or flight, you know, and I just
- 2:52Speaker 1: growze instead.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I get that. I get it you kind of shut
- 2:56Speaker 2: down in the moment in shock, But I don't know
- 2:58Speaker 2: what you do after this is never had to me.
- 3:00Speaker 1: No, That's what I feel guilty about because I walked
- 3:03Speaker 1: back inside because they didn't say anything, you know, not
- 3:06Speaker 1: because I encouraged him. I absolutely didn't. But the hardest
- 3:10Speaker 1: part to admit is I do understand what he meant.
- 3:16Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 3:17Speaker 1: I love my husband with everything I have. I would
- 3:21Speaker 1: never do anything to jeopardize my marriage. But over the
- 3:24Speaker 1: past few years him and I have become closer friends,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and I'm one of the only people that knows his
- 3:31Speaker 1: wife had an affair with a coworker.
- 3:34Speaker 2: A while back.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, one of the people that knows. They went
- 3:39Speaker 1: to counseling and they stayed together. Ever since that happened,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you know, I've never noticed him, but I noticed it
- 3:46Speaker 1: on my end. He's looked at me just a little
- 3:48Speaker 1: bit differently, and he's treated me a little bit differently.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I always thought he was an incredible husband, a great dad,
- 3:56Speaker 1: and just an all around good guy. Yeah, I'd be
- 3:59Speaker 1: lying if I said I didn't feel that connection to well,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you do not enough.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You do feel.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yes, I do, but but let me not in a
- 4:08Speaker 1: romantic way. Just something that was different. Something Okay, So
- 4:13Speaker 1: I didn't. I wasn't even sure he knew, you know.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So that's why this scares me.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Have you told your husband.
- 4:20Speaker 1: No, an, okay you. I haven't told any of my friends.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Has he followed up as he texts, you called, you
- 4:29Speaker 2: pulled your side again, or it's nothing. It's been just
- 4:32Speaker 2: ever since then, there's been no contact.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Well, I haven't really reached he hasn't reached out. We
- 4:37Speaker 1: haven't really talked.
- 4:38Speaker 2: This is kind of what happens, though, when you open
- 4:40Speaker 2: yourself up emotionally to anybody who's vulnerable. And I'm not
- 4:44Speaker 2: saying you did anything wrong, because you know, especially if
- 4:47Speaker 2: your husband's aware that he was cheated on and he
- 4:49Speaker 2: knows the situation, then it feels like, well, we're just
- 4:52Speaker 2: being good friends. You can't help being shocked by that. Yeah,
- 4:55Speaker 2: but that would but you got to tell your husband.
- 4:57Speaker 2: There's I just don't see away around it. If I
- 5:01Speaker 2: found out that, you know, my girlfriend or wife, that
- 5:04Speaker 2: one of my friends went to her and said this,
- 5:06Speaker 2: I would be so devastated if she didn't tell me.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but like I said, I would do nothing to
- 5:12Speaker 1: jeopardize my relate I know, and I'm.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Not saying you would, but it is kind of I
- 5:16Speaker 2: would be nervous if you were. If you were my
- 5:18Speaker 2: wife and you told me, I mean, I do notice
- 5:20Speaker 2: that we did have a connection of some sort of
- 5:22Speaker 2: not romantic way. I don't like that. I'd be like, wait,
- 5:25Speaker 2: you can't tell me, what do you mean a connection?
- 5:29Speaker 1: We definitely ain't going to the Labor Day party, right.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Well, you've got to let us know what happens and
- 5:36Speaker 2: if anything else does go down and let us know.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, thank you. I will thank you guys so much.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Of course, I just feel like there's got to be
- 5:46Speaker 2: some sort of something going on, if there's a connection.
- 5:48Speaker 2: But maybe I'm wrong. But see, I do feel and
- 5:51Speaker 2: I got a lot of hate for saying this from men,
- 5:54Speaker 2: but I do feel like when a guy cheats it's
- 5:56Speaker 2: different because when a guy cheats or gets cheated on,
- 5:58Speaker 2: I mean like, if the guy I get cheated on,
- 6:00Speaker 2: he feels like then he's got a free pass to
- 6:02Speaker 2: go cheat.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I don't feel like it's like that with women. No.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You know, if a guy cheat, she's devastating, right, she's devastated,
- 6:09Speaker 2: but she's not like, well now I get to hook up, right. No,
- 6:14Speaker 2: not all women, Yeah, I mean not all women. Very
- 6:21Speaker 2: few who's looking at me all far? Not all women.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But I know some women out there who do that.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Well, I know Candace Scandalous, Like you said, Candace, No, No,
- 6:29Speaker 2: Canda candal is like that, yeah, Scandace, some SI girls
