- 0:22Speaker 2: I conflate you. It's Heather is not used to being here.

- 0:30Speaker 2: is back and me and now handle on the news,
- 0:35Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Warning everybody handle here. It is a Friday, June nineteenth,
- 0:47Speaker 2: and it is well Juneteenth.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I'm going to talk about that later on.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Some really interesting facts about Juneteenth, which I guess easily accessible.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Everybody knows a few things about Juneteenth that very few
- 1:03Speaker 2: people know. For example, Abraham Lincoln known as the Great
- 1:08Speaker 2: Emancipator because originally that was sort of conflating words because
- 1:16Speaker 2: he was so thin, he was known as the Great Emaciator,
- 1:20Speaker 2: and instead that changed.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Okay, I'd like.
- 1:24Speaker 2: To be known as the Great Masticator. That's also good
- 1:28Speaker 2: a lot of chewing. Yeah, absolutely, Okay, Heather, I heard
- 1:32Speaker 2: you give your blubbering goodbye this morning as you were
- 1:37Speaker 2: ending ending a wake up call. Yes, so this is
- 1:41Speaker 2: the Heather's last date for this part of the year.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I'll see you at Christmas. Well, not you, but Neil.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I probably won't be here on Christmas. Yeah, let's
- 1:53Speaker 2: give you the day off. I know I keep I
- 1:55Speaker 2: keep my Christianity very close to the vests celebrate. Now
- 2:02Speaker 2: do they do Eucharist on Christmas? I christ Christus?
- 2:08Speaker 5: You know?
- 2:08Speaker 3: Tak Yeah, taking uh that wafer.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I celebrated with cheese and crackers as a crew to
- 2:14Speaker 2: ta during the week. At least once I said crew
- 2:19Speaker 2: to Tay crude. Oh, I see crude. It a got
- 2:27Speaker 2: it anyway, So Heather, uh, last day, and it's been
- 2:31Speaker 2: a pleasure having you here. I had to read that. Yes,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I believe I had. I know, I know absolutely, Neil.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Good morning to you. Well.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Hello, Happy Friday, sir. Oh, yes, foody Friday. Ask handle
- 2:44Speaker 2: anything Friday.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Oh.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I have a guest today, Roger Love, who is a
- 2:49Speaker 2: voice coach, but man, not your normal voice coach at all.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Guy.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he is on a level.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I don't think there's anybody in the country on him,
- 2:58Speaker 2: maybe the world on his level. And he's coming in
- 3:02Speaker 2: and there's a documentary film that he created. And when
- 3:05Speaker 2: I start going through the list of people he has
- 3:07Speaker 2: worked with, like sinking or speaking well, for example, Bradley
- 3:13Speaker 2: Cooper who really had to learn how to sing for
- 3:17Speaker 2: a Star is Born. That was Roger who worked with him.
- 3:21Speaker 2: If I go through the list, yeah yeah, it was
- 3:23Speaker 2: a Star is Born. Now there was also a sweetest
- 3:26Speaker 2: version of the stars Born. You're aware of that. That's
- 3:29Speaker 2: a star is Bjorn? Okay, I love that joke. It
- 3:32Speaker 2: is so stupid. I can't believe it. I use it
- 3:35Speaker 2: over and over again.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Oh right, Roger does teach how to speak and things
- 3:41Speaker 5: like that.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, he is. And I have personal story.
- 3:43Speaker 3: He saved my voice.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I was told to go into surgery and he started
- 3:48Speaker 2: screaming at me, goes, no, you don't.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And I'll tell you that story when we come back.
- 3:52Speaker 2: And Anne is always here, good morning and.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Good morning, and thank you. How there, it's been a pleasure.
- 3:58Speaker 7: I love you. Hugs all right, And Sam is here
- 4:01Speaker 7: filling in for Cono today. Sam, good morning, Good morning, Bill.
- 4:06Speaker 2: There you go Cono for the holiday. No, I think
- 4:09Speaker 2: Cono took the weekend. I took today and he's coming
- 4:14Speaker 2: back on Monday. I asked Dan, and she said that
- 4:17Speaker 2: every year Cono with his brother and his dad do
- 4:22Speaker 2: an annual fishing trip he's very close to his father,
- 4:27Speaker 2: which I have. I do not understand one iota me neither. Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: I just I don't get that he goes fishing with
- 4:33Speaker 2: his dad. As I said earlier, I go fishing with
- 4:35Speaker 2: my dad, but I just would use pieces of him
- 4:37Speaker 2: for bait. You wrote to say, Neil, Happy Father's Day.
- 4:43Speaker 6: You ruin everything.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Yeah, mate, I believe you'll be close to him one day,
- 4:47Speaker 5: at least as far as the earth is concerned.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I won't be too close. No, not that close. Although
- 4:55Speaker 2: we're still at the same place. Oh, that's the whole
- 4:57Speaker 2: story unto itself too, the burial plot story.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We're just bumming everybody out. We're only eleven minutes into
- 5:02Speaker 4: the ship.
- 5:03Speaker 5: We just got off a high of having Heather's joy
- 5:07Speaker 5: and brightness to our lives. And she did light. We
- 5:10Speaker 5: got entertainment. It's like handles all by the way.
- 5:14Speaker 6: We're all good to die.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah that's true.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Okay, then will will good morning. I can't hear you morning.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Oh there we are, Yeah, there you are.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Your Cosameo Mexico sweet shirt sweatshirt.
- 5:28Speaker 3: In honor of the Mexican team winning last night.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I was accidentally at a Mexican restaurant and they went
- 5:33Speaker 2: crazy last night. Oh I didn't. I wasn't paying attention Mexico,
- 5:38Speaker 2: who wasn't there for the World Cup?
- 5:39Speaker 3: But who who do they win against? South This wasn't
- 5:43Speaker 3: the World Cup?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Right?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Korea?
- 5:44Speaker 6: Yeah Korea?
- 5:45Speaker 3: They went against against South Korea.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Oh okay, nuts in my neighbors.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I'll bet, I'll bet guns firing, unless you're in Korea
- 5:53Speaker 2: town where they they actually had the mock funerals. No,
- 5:59Speaker 2: Mexican people of Mexican descent are insane about their heritage,
- 6:05Speaker 2: especially when when it comes to sporting events. And on
- 6:11Speaker 2: top of that, when you have such a huge number
- 6:14Speaker 2: of Mexicans you know, actually, yeah, they're Mexicans of Mexican descent.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Is that fair? Okay, where's this going?
- 6:24Speaker 2: And it's going no place. It's going straight into the news.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So let's do it. Handle on the news with Heather
- 6:32Speaker 2: and Neil and me late Storry. Well, in a wonderful
- 6:40Speaker 2: move that has expanded our deal with Iran, it's looking
- 6:45Speaker 2: very good. Vance was supposed to go out this weekend
- 6:49Speaker 2: to start the negotiations, the serious sit down negotiations with
- 6:53Speaker 2: Iran fell apart.
- 6:56Speaker 3: He's not going no, not now. Not here.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Begs the question, doesn't it since that this was going
- 7:03Speaker 2: to be the first of the talk subsequent to the signing,
- 7:06Speaker 2: because negotiations were supposed to start this weekend. The answer
- 7:10Speaker 2: is no on that one. So well, it's going to
- 7:13Speaker 2: be fascinating to see what happens in the next few days.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Good news. Oil is down.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It's about ten dollars more than it was before the war,
- 7:22Speaker 2: so it's seventy six dollars a barrel.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And gas is down.
- 7:27Speaker 2: So we'll see and by the way, it's going to
- 7:29Speaker 2: probably be it'll never be at those levels as they
- 7:33Speaker 2: were in terms of the price of oil and gas
- 7:37Speaker 2: prior to the war. But it's down pretty considerably. But
- 7:42Speaker 2: you're going to see. Inflation is here. There's a lot
- 7:45Speaker 2: of moving parts here. What isn't moving is jd Vance
- 7:48Speaker 2: on an airplane on his way to Switzerland. That's not moving.
- 7:53Speaker 4: All right, we do one more for the breaker.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You wanna go to Breawn, Yeah, let's do one all right.
- 7:57Speaker 4: So just yesterday, attorney for Luigian Mangioni, we're going to
- 8:02Speaker 4: use the psychiatric defense in his murder trial. Will now
- 8:06Speaker 4: they have withdrawn their plans to use that defense.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, This is interesting. First of all, this is not
- 8:12Speaker 2: the insanity defense. That's still McNaughton. The McNaughton rule coming
- 8:18Speaker 2: in from the eighteen nineties, which will still use it,
- 8:21Speaker 2: by the way today, is like passion of the moment, right,
- 8:24Speaker 2: Not quite, not quite.
- 8:25Speaker 3: It's a weird one.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Extreme emotional distruss.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 8:30Speaker 2: He was emotionally He knew what he was doing, but
- 8:32Speaker 2: he was so emotionally distraught.
- 8:34Speaker 3: It's mainly a mitigating factor.
- 8:35Speaker 2: By the way, the McNaughton defense is either you have
- 8:38Speaker 2: no idea of what you're doing, no idea, or you
- 8:42Speaker 2: cannot appreciate that it is wrong. That's mcnonton, that's insanity.
- 8:46Speaker 2: This one was less than that. So I think what
- 8:48Speaker 2: happened to Judge said, okay, let's see some evidence. I mean,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you can't just say it. You have to have some evidence,
- 8:53Speaker 2: that psychological, psychiatric evidence. They couldn't produce one iota of it,
- 8:59Speaker 2: so they know that that's basically gone. Okay, we continue
- 9:03Speaker 2: on more Handle on the news KFI AM six forty
- 9:07Speaker 2: bill Handle here. It is a Friday morning, June nineteenth tomorrow.
- 9:12Speaker 2: By the way, I'd like to invite you to join
- 9:15Speaker 2: me at Walt Disney Concert Hall is the La Lawyers
- 9:19Speaker 2: Philharmonic celebrating the two hundred and fifty Birthday of America.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It's American music from days of George Washington right till today.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I am ce the event. It's a bunch of lawyers
- 9:30Speaker 2: and judges, people in the legal profession, world class musicians
- 9:33Speaker 2: all getting together with this.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Just their extraordinary and the music is wonderful.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Also, it is the choir that's part of it too,
- 9:44Speaker 2: which is kind of neat legal voices. And so here's
- 9:48Speaker 2: what you do. Tickets are from twenty to one hundred
- 9:50Speaker 2: and thirty five dollars, half of which are tax deductible.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Go to La Lawyersphil dot org. I'm in a.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Tuxedo and I generally make an ass out of myself.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's kind of fun to see. So it's La Lawyers
- 10:01Speaker 2: Phil dot org. La Lawyers Phil isn't Philharmonic. La Lawyersphil
- 10:06Speaker 2: dot org. And I hope to see you there. Now,
- 10:10Speaker 2: back we go more handle on the news with Heather
- 10:13Speaker 2: Neil and me.
- 10:15Speaker 6: So, you know, the.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Hardest thing to do, as Russian President Vladimir Putin now knows,
- 10:22Speaker 5: is try to hide how poorly things are going in
- 10:26Speaker 5: a war when the war comes ten miles away from
- 10:30Speaker 5: the Kremlin, so you've got Putin trying to control things.
- 10:34Speaker 5: He's said to have been secluding himself from the deteriorating
- 10:39Speaker 5: realities of his invasion of Ukraine, because now you've got
- 10:44Speaker 5: all these blasts taking place within ten miles away from
- 10:51Speaker 5: the Kremlins. You've got obliterated refineries, thick black smoke over
- 10:56Speaker 5: Russia's capital and people, his people are seeing it and there.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he's screwed the crew. He keeps on doubling
- 11:04Speaker 2: down and doubling down. Remember Kiev was supposed to be
- 11:07Speaker 2: taken in three days by the Russian forces, and now
- 11:11Speaker 2: we're into the year four, already into this war.
- 11:15Speaker 6: There's a lot of descent now too.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, the people of Russia. It's not fun.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And he doesn't matter.
- 11:21Speaker 8: He says, I'm going to have that part of Ukraine
- 11:23Speaker 8: compeller high water, and the only people that tend to
- 11:26Speaker 8: disagree with him are the Ukrainians, who have taken drone
- 11:30Speaker 8: warfare to a whole new level, and that has changed everything,
- 11:35Speaker 8: much like it did with the war in Iran drones.
- 11:39Speaker 5: So you know what you see next after they're bombing refineries.
- 11:42Speaker 5: You're gonna see long lines and gas lines in Russia
- 11:46Speaker 5: and things that you can't ignore or right away.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, they've lost millions of men already.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Okay, way, mom, really quick, I have a little breaking
- 11:57Speaker 4: news story that's coming into the newsroom. Here is and
- 12:01Speaker 4: the Hesbula militant group have just agreed within the last
- 12:04Speaker 4: few minutes to renew their ceasefire after fighting was postponed
- 12:10Speaker 4: between Iran and US talks in Switzerland. So just moments ago,
- 12:13Speaker 4: where did the ceasefire came from? Two regional officials and
- 12:16Speaker 4: a US official. It was mediated by cutter US and Iran,
- 12:20Speaker 4: And I'll get some more information on that for you
- 12:22Speaker 4: as well. All right. Weimo is recalling nearly thirty nine
- 12:29Speaker 4: hundred robotaxis. Apparently there's a software issue that caused some
- 12:33Speaker 4: vehicles to enter active freeway construction zones and continue driving
- 12:38Speaker 4: at a high rate of speed. Weimo's fifth generation automated
- 12:43Speaker 4: driving systems are the ones that are mostly effective. The
- 12:47Speaker 4: recall follows thirteen incidents, six happened in April in Phoenix.
- 12:52Speaker 4: The company says they're developing a remedy to address the problem.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, this is what happens when you have
- 12:57Speaker 2: new technology.
- 12:58Speaker 3: You fix it.
- 13:00Speaker 2: You see the bugs, you see what's wrong, you fix it,
- 13:03Speaker 2: same thing over and over again. That's what happened with cars.
- 13:05Speaker 2: That's with airplanes. That's I'm a big fan. I think
- 13:10Speaker 2: U incredibly safe, these autonomous cars where people are going,
- 13:14Speaker 2: oh no, no, no, We'd rather have human beings who
- 13:17Speaker 2: are drunk and blind driving cars.
- 13:24Speaker 6: I want to know.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I want to know what services you take where they're
- 13:28Speaker 5: drunk and blind driving the cars?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Hey services? Those are those are normal drivers?
- 13:36Speaker 4: You see that blind?
- 13:40Speaker 6: Yes? Alright? All right?
- 13:44Speaker 5: Uh So you've got wing nuts who have drones that
- 13:50Speaker 5: can't follow the rules. They're flying over Los Angeles Stadium
- 13:55Speaker 5: in Inglewood as we know it, SOFI Stadium. H eight
- 13:59Speaker 5: were cup matches, you're scheduled. You got at least twenty
- 14:03Speaker 5: eight drone seizure seizures. And this is just people trying
- 14:10Speaker 5: to get images or video of these games. And you
- 14:15Speaker 5: can get penalties up to one hundred thousand dollars in
- 14:17Speaker 5: five and they don't.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Nail them enough.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And they don't nail them enough. That's the part that
- 14:22Speaker 2: kills me. They're super dangerous. They have these drones, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 2: for example, interference with the flight crew. You know these
- 14:28Speaker 2: people they had arrested, they start punching on their on airplanes.
- 14:31Speaker 2: They start punching people going after the steward assistant.
- 14:35Speaker 3: And you know that's a.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars fine and five years
- 14:39Speaker 2: in prison.
- 14:39Speaker 3: No one gets that.
- 14:40Speaker 6: I think the term is steward ie.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Well it's either a male or a female stewards, but.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's And if they're above five pounds, they're supposed
- 14:53Speaker 5: to have a tail license. I have won over five pounds.
- 14:55Speaker 5: It's got a tail license, it's registered, it's all that stuff.
- 15:00Speaker 3: All right, let's go ahead and take a break.
- 15:01Speaker 2: We'll come back and dive right into as many stories
- 15:05Speaker 2: as we can for the end of the hour.
- 15:08Speaker 3: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 15:12Speaker 3: six forty.
- 15:14Speaker 2: KFI AM six forty Bill Handle. Good morning, everybody. It
- 15:18Speaker 2: is a Friday morning, June nineteenth.
- 15:21Speaker 3: A lot going on.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Looks like the peace agreement, or at least the negotiations
- 15:26Speaker 2: between Iran the United States, which we're so to start
- 15:29Speaker 2: this weekend postponed not happening very quickly, although Heather just
- 15:34Speaker 2: reported that there is a ceasefire deal between Lebanon and Israel,
- 15:40Speaker 2: which was a big part of what the negotiations were about.
- 15:43Speaker 2: All right, back we go more handle on the news,
- 15:46Speaker 2: Heather Neil and me.
- 15:48Speaker 4: They're running out of beer in Boston, apparently because of
- 15:54Speaker 4: the World Cup. Fans from Scotland have drank all the
- 15:58Speaker 4: beer from Boston Beer Company. It's called there. They're called
- 16:02Speaker 4: the Tartan Army. That's Scotland's supporters organization for their World
- 16:07Speaker 4: Cup team. The bar owners say they drank four times
- 16:12Speaker 4: what the company normally stocks on a typical four day
- 16:17Speaker 4: holiday stretch like the Fourth of July. Scots do not
- 16:21Speaker 4: mess around, they, I guess, just drank them, drank them
- 16:25Speaker 4: Newry the home. What a fun time. I feel like
- 16:29Speaker 4: we don't have those kind of parties here for the
- 16:31Speaker 4: World Cup. Like, no, no, none of our parties seem
- 16:33Speaker 4: to be that wild. I've been seeing video from other
- 16:35Speaker 4: parts of the country where these World Cup revelers are.
- 16:38Speaker 4: You know, the Scots are playing their bagpipes and in
- 16:41Speaker 4: the streets along with you know, there's big parties and
- 16:44Speaker 4: dances and celebrations. We don't really seem to be having
- 16:46Speaker 4: that here.
- 16:47Speaker 5: There's tons of activity in my neighborhood. Really people, tons
- 16:54Speaker 5: and tons of people walking in the streets. A lot
- 16:57Speaker 5: of young people lines around on the block to get
- 17:00Speaker 5: into cases.
- 17:01Speaker 6: It's pretty insane.
- 17:02Speaker 4: It's not happening in Glendale, then I guess I'm missing it.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Maybe not so big in Glendale. All right, So, Boile Heights,
- 17:10Speaker 5: you heard about that fire. It has covered the skies
- 17:14Speaker 5: here on the eastern side of Los Angeles, heavy smoke
- 17:19Speaker 5: flowing out of that Boyle Heights warehouse, and so as
- 17:23Speaker 5: firefighters are working to extinguish everything and get it all out,
- 17:27Speaker 5: they found this freezer container as they were venting out
- 17:32Speaker 5: that charge structure, and they had to put out a
- 17:35Speaker 5: new shelter in place order. You know, this fire is
- 17:40Speaker 5: probably about five miles from my house, and it, yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 5: caused a lot of smoke overhead.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Don't fryd it ironic that a fire is occurring in
- 17:51Speaker 2: a freezer container.
- 17:55Speaker 4: What's all on the top of the building.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I know, but I just I wanted to
- 17:59Speaker 2: be ironic about it. Makes some point, okay, okay, but
- 18:03Speaker 2: the point is it's on the east side. I don't
- 18:05Speaker 2: live on the east side, so frankly I don't care.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't care, so we are sort of I guess,
- 18:12Speaker 4: pandering to our international fans here. Craft is. Anyway, they
- 18:17Speaker 4: have created a limited edition Craft TSA compliant ranch kit.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Remember yesterday we were talking about their fascination with American
- 18:27Speaker 4: foods and things like that. Well, ranch dressing is at
- 18:30Speaker 4: the top of the list of condiments that a lot
- 18:34Speaker 4: of these international guests want to take home. Well Craft
- 18:37Speaker 4: now has a clear TSA approved quart size bag and
- 18:42Speaker 4: a bulk stash of Craft Ranch packets that they can
- 18:46Speaker 4: take home with them.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Boy, what an accidental promo. It just happens sometimes where
- 18:51Speaker 2: you know, lightning in a bottle and the international crowd
- 18:54Speaker 2: is discovering all things American, and for some reason, ranch
- 18:59Speaker 2: has become the favorite food item that the international participants,
- 19:04Speaker 2: the viewers that are coming in or the fans that
- 19:06Speaker 2: are coming in.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I don't have that anywhere else like that.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I don't think I think that.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I don't think they do. But I've been to a
- 19:13Speaker 3: fair number of places.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Craft people or ranch people like yeah put it in
- 19:18Speaker 4: overseas that seems like.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I've even been in other countries. I've been to their
- 19:22Speaker 2: ranches and they don't have ranch. All right, Okay, Neilia,
- 19:31Speaker 2: can't hear you.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Sorry about that. This one's super legal wonky. And we've
- 19:37Speaker 5: talked about it in the past about Uber and then
- 19:40Speaker 5: California lawyers reaching a deal. They had the Dueling ballot initiatives,
- 19:45Speaker 5: if you remember, and bill. One of them was that
- 19:48Speaker 5: it was going to limit the amount a p I
- 19:53Speaker 5: attorney could get in a crash involving Lyft or Uber
- 19:58Speaker 5: and things like that. I don't know how they do that,
- 20:01Speaker 5: but they had that in their work.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Now it was going Neil.
- 20:04Speaker 2: It was going to limit all personal injury cases to
- 20:09Speaker 2: twenty five percent of whatever the plaintiff got, twenty five
- 20:14Speaker 2: percent for the lawyers, twenty five percent for the doctors,
- 20:19Speaker 2: twenty five percent that I believe costs had to be included,
- 20:23Speaker 2: which basically meant that there would no PI lawyer would exist.
- 20:28Speaker 2: People would not be able to have personal injuries lawyers
- 20:31Speaker 2: because they were going to make no money whatsoever. And
- 20:33Speaker 2: that was they of course, they said, it's for the
- 20:36Speaker 2: benefit of the consumer. That's the way everything is always drafted.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And so what the lawyers are doing. Went after Uber
- 20:44Speaker 2: because they've been raped, because so many people have been
- 20:48Speaker 2: a cue or have alleged that there was rape, and
- 20:51Speaker 2: it was going to make it difficult for Uber to
- 20:53Speaker 2: defend itself. They actually weren't exactly opposite each other, but
- 20:58Speaker 2: there was that fight going on and they said, Okay,
- 21:00Speaker 2: we're going to give it up both sides, let's go
- 21:02Speaker 2: back to where we were before. And that's what happened,
- 21:05Speaker 2: which is a shame for KFI because there would have
- 21:07Speaker 2: been hundreds of millions of dollars spent in advertising.
- 21:14Speaker 4: All right, sorry, go.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Ahead, sorry.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Ford has sued a Lemon law firm. Apparently they are
- 21:21Speaker 4: inflating their fees by seven thousand percent. Quill and Arrow,
- 21:27Speaker 4: a personal injury firm representing drivers in Lemon Law, which
- 21:30Speaker 4: something I know, Bill, you talk about a lot on
- 21:33Speaker 4: your show on Saturdays. They have increased their fees by
- 21:38Speaker 4: seven thousand percent. That's crazy.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Well, that's what they're alleged with alleged.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a little bit more complex than that,
- 21:46Speaker 2: a little wonky, as Neil would say, The argument is
- 21:50Speaker 2: what you would normally charge insurance companies, what you would
- 21:54Speaker 2: charge for well, we put it this way, what you
- 21:57Speaker 2: would charge for normal representation under this law, Lemon law,
- 22:02Speaker 2: that you can sue and the defendants of car companies
- 22:06Speaker 2: have to pay. They can basically charge whatever they want,
- 22:10Speaker 2: and they have and it's statutory. In other words, I
- 22:13Speaker 2: represent you in a Lemon law case, and I don't
- 22:16Speaker 2: take a percentage of whatever you get. I just file
- 22:20Speaker 2: for separate attorneys fees, and I can file for any
- 22:23Speaker 2: amount of attorney's fees. No cap on that, no cap,
- 22:27Speaker 2: no cap whatsoever. All right, I think we can do
- 22:30Speaker 2: one more.
- 22:31Speaker 5: All Right, You've got a senator coming out and talking
- 22:34Speaker 5: to the FAA saying, hey, this whole Donald Trump wanting
- 22:40Speaker 5: to he's proposed this two hundred and fifty nine foot
- 22:44Speaker 5: tall Independence Arch, and this could pose risks to commercial flights.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I didn't maybe landing, you know, why the hell would.
- 22:57Speaker 3: No just getting away.
- 22:58Speaker 2: It's just it's, you know, it's a building that is
- 23:01Speaker 2: a threat to uh, you know, airlines coming in airplane.
- 23:05Speaker 2: So it's a blinking red light that all these buildings have,
- 23:07Speaker 2: or these towers have. And so it's this is so stupid,
- 23:14Speaker 2: this thing. It's again, we talked about this yesterday, Neil.
- 23:17Speaker 2: This is President Trump putting his stamp on everything he
- 23:22Speaker 2: can around Washington.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Now he's going he's put it on so many things.
- 23:26Speaker 6: He's got to move up. He's got to go, guy.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I mean this arch it's uh, it's copied after the
- 23:32Speaker 2: Arc de Triumph in Paris, which is a monumental monument.
- 23:37Speaker 3: It's known all over the world. Is one.
- 23:39Speaker 2: There's the Eiffel Tower, and there's the Art Art Triumph.
- 23:42Speaker 2: And the president is out doing the arc. He said,
- 23:48Speaker 2: Arc de Triumph in Paris. Fee on Paris. I'm going
- 23:52Speaker 2: to outdo this gross that's what he said. Fifth on Paris.
- 24:00Speaker 3: We're coming back more handle on the news.
- 24:03Speaker 2: We'll finish it up day fine, am six forty handle here.
- 24:07Speaker 2: It is a Friday morning, June teenth. At June nineteenth,
- 24:12Speaker 2: which I'm going to do topic on. I'm going to
- 24:14Speaker 2: cover that at seven o'clock top of the hour, and
- 24:16Speaker 2: a few things about June nineteenth that you may not know,
- 24:20Speaker 2: the Emancipation Proclamation and all that, some kind of interesting
- 24:23Speaker 2: facts that that you don't know.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Now.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Oh, well, before we go, I don't know Will's out there,
- 24:31Speaker 2: because one of the things I love about Will Cole
- 24:33Speaker 2: Schreiber here is that whenever I say something ridiculous, he
- 24:38Speaker 2: reacts to everything. And I absolutely love it. Neil, it
- 24:43Speaker 2: doesn't care now, he reacts to nothing. And has been
- 24:46Speaker 2: around so long she's heard it. Yeah, okay, fine, fine, fine,
- 24:49Speaker 2: Michelle when she's here, because she was only with me
- 24:52Speaker 2: for twenty five years, there is nothing I can say
- 24:55Speaker 2: that she won't finish the sentence.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Sam laughs.
- 25:00Speaker 2: He thinks it's pretty funny stuff. So anyway, so much
- 25:03Speaker 2: for that. And I will and that was that was
- 25:06Speaker 2: a compliment to Will. I don't know where the hell
- 25:07Speaker 2: he is. It's probably in the bathroom. Maybe we can
- 25:09Speaker 2: take a microphone with him. Ooh, naked guns and I
- 25:12Speaker 2: have and have when can hear the toilet flush?
- 25:15Speaker 3: Huh? Or have him with the sound effects.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Okay, guys, let's just on a little walk about. Yeah,
- 25:20Speaker 2: that makes sense. Okay, let's do it. It's time to
- 25:23Speaker 2: finish it up. Handle on the news with Heather and
- 25:27Speaker 2: Neil and me.
- 25:31Speaker 3: And Heather.
- 25:32Speaker 5: It's Neil and Neil. No, I already did the Senator.
- 25:37Speaker 5: We're I'm in number twelve.
- 25:38Speaker 4: All right, My bad, too much coffee on my end.
- 25:42Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:42Speaker 4: So NASA is planning to rescue one of its telescopes
- 25:47Speaker 4: that's in danger of falling back to Earth and sort
- 25:49Speaker 4: of burning up in the atmosphere. The Swift Observatory has
- 25:52Speaker 4: been using this telescope to observe the Earth for more
- 25:58Speaker 4: than two decades. Now they're saying they're going to rescue
- 26:02Speaker 4: this telescope. It says later in June, so they probably
- 26:05Speaker 4: in the next week or so. And yeah, that's exciting.
- 26:09Speaker 4: They're going to rescue a telescope from burning up in
- 26:11Speaker 4: the atmosphere.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Well, these are everything in low Earth orbit. If there
- 26:16Speaker 2: aren't rockets to move it back up again, tend to
- 26:21Speaker 2: crash to Earth. I mean, that's just gravity and all that.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You have to keep them up with rocketry, the ISS,
- 26:27Speaker 2: I mean everything. So it's I don't know if they're
- 26:31Speaker 2: gonna rescue it. I guess they're not. Even this doesn't
- 26:35Speaker 2: have rockets on there, and there's no way of putting
- 26:38Speaker 2: more fuel on like there is with the Hubble like theirs.
- 26:41Speaker 4: They're going to try to save it. That's what they're
- 26:43Speaker 4: calling it. A rescue mission.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, I understand, but I just don't quite
- 26:46Speaker 2: know how they're going to do it. Yeah, I don't
- 26:49Speaker 2: know exactly how they're going to do it. Now, when
- 26:51Speaker 2: you have a deep space telescope or deep space satellites,
- 26:55Speaker 2: they don't have to worry about that.
- 26:56Speaker 3: So oh, here's it. Okay, factoid, fact oid.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Hold on a second, and because you're not going to
- 27:01Speaker 2: be able to answer this synchronous orbit where satellites go
- 27:06Speaker 2: up usually telecommunity can telecommunication satellites go up and they
- 27:10Speaker 2: are at the same place on Earth or their their antennae,
- 27:15Speaker 2: their signal goes to the same place. So you have
- 27:18Speaker 2: three or four around the world, and uh, it's that's
- 27:21Speaker 2: complete coverage. Satellites don't move, well, they do move with
- 27:24Speaker 2: the Earth. Okay, at what distance does a satellite have
- 27:29Speaker 2: to be from the Earth to make it synchronous orbit?
- 27:33Speaker 3: Dude, do do doo? No one knows that.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Nine nine miles that Yeah, that's what an airplane goes
- 27:41Speaker 2: out close.
- 27:42Speaker 4: It's kind of a low atmosphere.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Twenty two thousand miles.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Oh dang, Okay, I wasn't close at all.
- 27:48Speaker 6: When was the skylight? Was that in the eighties?
- 27:50Speaker 3: I think it was?
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and that came down, Yeah, skylight came down.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I wasn't born yet, all right.
- 27:59Speaker 6: You suck.
- 28:01Speaker 5: When you buy a house as is, well, that could
- 28:05Speaker 5: mean a lot of different things. So you have this
- 28:07Speaker 5: new home own home owner who bought a foreclosed Connecticut
- 28:12Speaker 5: home as is finding the remaining bits are parts skeletal
- 28:18Speaker 5: remains of three people.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Uh.
- 28:22Speaker 5: So they come in and they said, hey, there's human
- 28:25Speaker 5: remains here. So you've got the state police and everything
- 28:28Speaker 5: coming in. No foul play, just three skeletons, Just three skeletons.
- 28:35Speaker 5: And they didn't release any you know, any evidence they
- 28:39Speaker 5: may have who they are. They did say that it
- 28:41Speaker 5: doesn't look like any foul play. But yeah, that's a Now.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Usually usually the teams that go and investigate are five
- 28:48Speaker 2: or six people, but this time around there were only two,
- 28:51Speaker 2: which of course means that they sent in a skeleton.
- 28:57Speaker 6: Oh huh huh.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I like it all right? You want to do? Want more?
- 29:03Speaker 3: Yeap?
- 29:03Speaker 4: Sleep Number has filed for bankruptcy. You know the Sleep
- 29:07Speaker 4: Number beds.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Oh I used the new commercial for Sleep Number bed.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I have a house full of Sleep Number beds. Well,
- 29:12Speaker 2: now they're broke, they're out of money. They're filed for bankruptcy.
- 29:16Speaker 2: They are six hundred and seventy two million dollars in debt.
- 29:20Speaker 2: How much would they pay you to advertise for them?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Bill handle?
- 29:24Speaker 2: Oh, I'm gonna I'm going to share that with you,
- 29:26Speaker 2: aren't I how much they pay for comm that's what
- 29:28Speaker 2: they owe Bill.
- 29:29Speaker 4: That's what they go Bill.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Now this is beds now, They're wonderful beds Now.
- 29:35Speaker 2: This is chapter eleven. This is a reorganization. It is
- 29:38Speaker 2: not the company going broke. There are two kinds of bankruptcy.
- 29:42Speaker 2: One is chapter eleven, which is reorganization. It goes in
- 29:46Speaker 2: and presents to the court this plan for repayment and
- 29:49Speaker 2: leases that are going to be up or over cutting
- 29:52Speaker 2: them off. And then there is complete liquidation, which I
- 29:55Speaker 2: think is chapter thirteen, where the company just disappears and
- 29:58Speaker 2: sells off it's freezer, sells off its refrigerators in the
- 30:03Speaker 2: back room, everything, and the company ceases to exist.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Sleep number will still be around.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Well, they're saying tariffs and supply chain disruptions and advertising
- 30:12Speaker 4: to Bill handle is what is sending them exactly.
- 30:16Speaker 2: You just won't get as good a sleep as you
- 30:18Speaker 2: used to prior to the Filey, Okay, we're done. Coming up,
- 30:23Speaker 2: it's juneteenth and a couple of facts about June teenth.
- 30:28Speaker 2: You probably know the history to some extent, but I'm
- 30:31Speaker 2: going to talk about the freeing of the slaves, and
- 30:34Speaker 2: I'll bet you you don't know about this one. Coming up,
- 30:38Speaker 2: just after we go to the Top of the Hour
- 30:41Speaker 2: kf I AM sixty.
