- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey, everybody, Good morning from the very noisy chicken
- 0:31coop. So today we're gonna talk a
- 0:33little bit about some recent studies that have come out that
- 0:36are reinforcing some beliefs that I teach on here all the
- 0:39time. And I just wanna make sure that
- 0:41I bang it into your head a little bit more because you know
- 0:44what the truth of the matter is? We all need reminders.
- 0:47So in the science of happiness, when we start to study how we as
- 0:53human beings cultivate happiness.
- 0:57These neurotransmitters in our brain that produce serotonin and
- 1:01dopamine, they get triggered every single time.
- 1:05You do small things that help you along the way, such as
- 1:09mindfulness and meditation and art and doing the things that
- 1:13make you happy, reading, knitting, whatever it might be,
- 1:15cooking, whatever your thing is, working on cars and playing with
- 1:19Legos. I have a client who said to me a
- 1:21couple months ago, how come you don't mention the Legos on the
- 1:23podcast? You know, a lot of guys like to
- 1:25play with Legos. I yes.
- 1:26So let me make sure I reinforce that if you are a person who
- 1:29likes to play with Legos, please that is part of it.
- 1:33But these are all considered to be the the the steps, the little
- 1:37tiny pieces that help our brain chemistry change based on our
- 1:42activities and our thoughts. Really hear what I just said.
- 1:45You can change your brain chemistry based on your
- 1:49activities and your thoughts. So this might be.
- 1:53Part of the the the shocking factor, but you can shift it
- 1:56very quickly by doing something like that.
- 1:58So I, you know, but talked about this before how I keep Play DoH
- 2:02in my office. But I can promise you when I
- 2:04have Play DoH out that as soon as I open the container I feel
- 2:07different. As soon as I start to play with
- 2:09the Play DoH, I feel different. It just takes me right back to a
- 2:12place when I was a kid that was very peaceful for me, very art
- 2:17driven, very creative, very loving in my world because it
- 2:22was something that I could. Would not stop doing.
- 2:24I absolutely loved doing it. So it to me it is natural to do
- 2:28that. So that's why I have so many
- 2:30containers of it. It's why I have all my crayons
- 2:32out. It's like I like the smell of
- 2:34them that those are dopamine hits.
- 2:36Those are things that make you feel the serotonin go off.
- 2:39It's like boom, OK, I I'm rewiring myself every day.
- 2:43So as I'm doing a big push to create all these courses and get
- 2:46all this stuff out, I'm in the process of doing that.
- 2:49Those hits constantly coming out to the chicken coop yesterday,
- 2:53big, huge like flood of thoughts that I wanted to get out.
- 2:57And I was so intense in my thoughts, I was getting clogged
- 3:02up. So what's the first thing that I
- 3:04did? I didn't sit there and say, oh,
- 3:05this is so frustrating. I was just, I felt myself
- 3:08starting to shift. I felt myself having an issue.
- 3:10And so I said, you know what, I'm just going to go sit with
- 3:12the chickens for 20 minutes or so.
- 3:14I came out. I sat down.
- 3:16On the steps of the coop and I just, you know, of course Dottie
- 3:19ran, ran up, sits on my lap, and I'm like, you know what?
- 3:23That was all I needed. I needed a chicken to sit on my
- 3:25lap. And this sounds crazy, but the
- 3:27second I did it, my whole world shifted and I could settle back
- 3:31down and I could just talk to myself in a better way.
- 3:34I could say okay, now I'm in my happy place.
- 3:36Now I can go back. And So what if I'm thinking of
- 3:40it in a deeper way than the team and I had talked about?
- 3:43So what if I'm doing it in a different direction?
- 3:45Big deal. Let me just put it all out there
- 3:48and we'll sort it out afterwards, because sometimes
- 3:50that's what happens. And then I regained my
- 3:52happiness. I didn't.
- 3:54And not that I didn't have it, but I I put it back at the
- 3:56hierarchy because sometimes that's what it is like.
- 3:59I can be happy no matter what's going on.
- 4:01I can find a way or something to be happy about.
- 4:04I may have sadness in a moment. I may be upset in a moment.
- 4:07I may be annoyed in a moment. That doesn't mean underneath I'm
- 4:10not happy. So it's just tapping back into
- 4:13that and saying what's going to help me elevate that happiness
- 4:15back up to the top where it needs to be in order for me to
- 4:19feel my best to proceed forward. And that's what this is about,
- 4:23so. Check in with yourself because
- 4:25the science backs this up. The science tells us this all
- 4:29the time. Taking a walk and clearing your
- 4:31head matters. It's why I walk so much while I
- 4:35do my coaching sessions. It it makes you focus, it gives
- 4:40you more clarity at when the body is in motion, there's a
- 4:43release. So give yourself the gift.
- 4:46Do the favor for yourself and say you know what?
- 4:48This is going to be something that's part of my regular
- 4:51routine. I'm going to take this
- 4:53information. And I'm going to cultivate
- 4:55habits into my every single day, just like I do about how I'm
- 5:00going to find these little things.
- 5:01I'm not just going to go and live a life of drudgery because
- 5:04that's not what this is all about.
- 5:06It's it's about way more than that.
- 5:08It's about way more than that. And it's about something that
- 5:11comes to the fact down to the fact that you have to want
- 5:14yourself to excel in these areas in order for everything else to
- 5:18excel. Because when you take care of
- 5:19this, everything else is fixed. It's like the foundation of the
- 5:22house. If the foundation of the house
- 5:24is sturdy and the bones of the house is sturdy, everything else
- 5:26can be redone. But you've got to work on those
- 5:28things first. So I hope you guys have a
- 5:31blessed day. Go find your little Nuggets, get
- 5:34your hits, dopamine and serotonin.
- 5:37Focus on that piece and we will see you tomorrow.
- 5:40Have a blessed day everybody. Bye.
