- 1:00Speaker 1: The House of Representatives passed the bill.
- 1:04Speaker 3: And pretty wide margin bipartisan support to ban TikTok from
- 1:11Speaker 3: America unless they sell.
- 1:15Speaker 1: To an American company or American owner.
- 1:18Speaker 3: They're currently owned by a Chinese company by Dance, and
- 1:23Speaker 3: they say that, you know, there's issues on security. There's
- 1:27Speaker 3: issues that you know, the Chinese has so much data
- 1:31Speaker 3: on Americans.
- 1:32Speaker 1: The Whost Bill, So now it's passed the first hurdle.
- 1:36Speaker 3: The next hurdle is that it has to go through
- 1:39Speaker 3: Senate and we'll see if the Senate passes it the
- 1:44Speaker 3: President that after that then it will go to the
- 1:45Speaker 3: President to sign into law. He already said at the
- 1:49Speaker 3: State of the Union that he would sign it if
- 1:51Speaker 3: it got to his desk. So two of the three
- 1:53Speaker 3: hurdles have been passed. Right Essentially, the President said he's
- 1:56Speaker 3: going to sign it. The House has already passed it,
- 1:59Speaker 3: so now the balls in the Senate's court. It's up
- 2:02Speaker 3: to them to see what they're doing. The former treasure
- 2:07Speaker 3: secretary it's putting together an investment group to buy TikTok.
- 2:13Speaker 1: There's been talk about conflict and interest.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Remember Meta tried to buy TikTok years ago and it
- 2:18Speaker 3: got blocked by the government. They said it would cause
- 2:21Speaker 3: a monopoly. So there's definitely been interest in a variety
- 2:26Speaker 3: of American corporations. The TikTok CEO has been very vocal
- 2:30Speaker 3: in trying to drum up support to stop this from happening,
- 2:33Speaker 3: to stop the force sale. So this is a very
- 2:36Speaker 3: interesting time that we're in right now. So what is
- 2:41Speaker 3: the thoughts on this TikTok situation and how could it
- 2:46Speaker 3: potentially play out for the economy.
- 2:50Speaker 4: My first thought was and shot the promanium for making
- 2:52Speaker 4: this video. But my first thought was, out of all
- 2:55Speaker 4: the issues that's going on in America, food crisis, racism
- 3:00Speaker 4: at scale, poor education, poor food, boeing, your planes won't
- 3:07Speaker 4: stay together, you're using cheap manufacturing to put planes to
- 3:10Speaker 4: fly people across the country. Houses the one thing that
- 3:12Speaker 4: everybody can agree upon to pass as a bill. If
- 3:17Speaker 4: Zuckerberg had his hand in his well played, because TikTok
- 3:21Speaker 4: is a dominant force, now a shot. I'm not gonna
- 3:23Speaker 4: go on my rapt from two years ago because you
- 3:25Speaker 4: won the war, right, But my thing is, like, out
- 3:29Speaker 4: of all the important issues that we're facing, how the
- 3:31Speaker 4: hell is this the issue that everyone on both sides
- 3:33Speaker 4: of the aisle agree upon unanimously, and then this guy
- 3:37Speaker 4: wants to put together an investment group who blocked it before,
- 3:41Speaker 4: to try and buy it. I think that's a conflict
- 3:43Speaker 4: of interest. Is China's stealing our data? Is there some
- 3:46Speaker 4: of nefarious stuff going on? Yes, But if we don't
- 3:48Speaker 4: think that that same thing isn't happening with iPhone and
- 3:54Speaker 4: other social media platforms that are here in the States,
- 3:57Speaker 4: I think we are misaligned. David Sack made a great
- 4:00Speaker 4: point that this could be the introduction of like a
- 4:02Speaker 4: Patriot Act to point oh where there is more spine
- 4:06Speaker 4: on our citizens, and I agree one thousand percent. And
- 4:09Speaker 4: I think the biggest fear here that no one wants
- 4:12Speaker 4: to say is if TikTok is not blocked, it could
- 4:16Speaker 4: overtake other social media companies, like let's take.
- 4:21Speaker 1: The met out of it, right, because I lost that round.
- 4:23Speaker 4: They're definitely better than Snapchat, arguably a little bit more
- 4:28Speaker 4: sticky than YouTube. I just think it's a underhanded way
- 4:35Speaker 4: to block a company from being here. And if that's
- 4:37Speaker 4: the case, how many more other companies are we're going
- 4:40Speaker 4: to block from doing business here? And they want to
- 4:43Speaker 4: block China from having a media company. But you let
- 4:47Speaker 4: all the investors buy up all the damn rainforests in
- 4:50Speaker 4: South America and then all the land next to government
- 4:53Speaker 4: entities here in the United States. Where was the block
- 4:55Speaker 4: on that you and blocked Bill Gates and then from
- 4:58Speaker 4: buying all that land together. But TikTok is the big
- 5:02Speaker 4: issue that we're worried about why. And I know people
- 5:06Speaker 4: are gonna say they're trying to dumb American citizens down.
- 5:09Speaker 4: You think TikTok has dumb people down more than Instagram
- 5:14Speaker 4: and Hollywood or Jason Lee Rocket, right, even though you
- 5:19Speaker 4: be at mail we friends all that, but Shade Room
- 5:24Speaker 4: and Jerry Springer back in the day, like American media
- 5:27Speaker 4: has done more to dumb down its citizens than anyone
- 5:30Speaker 4: in China has.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a I almost feel like it's an impossible feat. Right,
- 5:37Speaker 5: it's gonna get bands because they've given them one hundred
- 5:40Speaker 5: and eighty days to sell this thing, or the band's
- 5:44Speaker 5: gonna being put in place. Now when you talk about sell,
- 5:46Speaker 5: this is not just like a normal transaction evaluation.
- 5:50Speaker 6: On the low end, do you know what it is?
- 5:53Speaker 2: No?
- 5:53Speaker 5: I don't one hundred billion on the low end? Right,
- 5:58Speaker 5: so we sell to right, this is the issue. So
- 6:00Speaker 5: TikTok made sixteen billion in sales in the United States
- 6:03Speaker 5: last year according to the Financial Times. If you did
- 6:05Speaker 5: a nine x or ten x evaluation on that you're
- 6:08Speaker 5: talking about on a high end, it could be one
- 6:10Speaker 5: hundred and fifty billion, So you have one hundred and
- 6:12Speaker 5: eighty days for one hundred and fifty billion dollar transaction.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Tell me how that money's not there for most people?
- 6:19Speaker 5: How does that go through? So why was the cause
- 6:22Speaker 5: for the band? So the US they have a long
- 6:24Speaker 5: restricted policy restricted foreign ownership of radio and television broadcasting,
- 6:29Speaker 5: which is kind of tricky, right because TikTok is really
- 6:32Speaker 5: a social media platform and so does it fit in
- 6:35Speaker 5: the guidelines of radio and television broadcasting.
- 6:38Speaker 6: But the real issue is the data.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Right, they're saying that the Chinese are stealing data from
- 6:43Speaker 5: American citizens. But there's a couple. I mean, the sale
- 6:48Speaker 5: is one issue, the data is another issue. But there
- 6:51Speaker 5: are some people who are saying, like, what about freedom
- 6:53Speaker 5: of speech, which is a constitutional thing right, How does
- 6:58Speaker 5: that work? Because you're not going to find American citizens
- 7:01Speaker 5: and residents for using the app, but you will try
- 7:04Speaker 5: to bend the platform that they're using.
- 7:06Speaker 6: So there's a lot of issues there.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Ultimately, the road that this it looks like it's headed,
- 7:10Speaker 5: is towards it's just going to be banned because again,
- 7:13Speaker 5: one hundred and fifty billion dollar transaction on a high
- 7:15Speaker 5: end within the next one hundred and that was early
- 7:18Speaker 5: last week, So the countdown is on to one hundred
- 7:20Speaker 5: and eighty.
- 7:21Speaker 6: I mean we've seen we've seen some.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Of these transactions with Microsoft and Activision and that I
- 7:27Speaker 5: mean with that process is still going through, right, that's
- 7:30Speaker 5: the sixty billion, sixty seven billion dollar transaction. Yeah, how
- 7:33Speaker 5: do you speed this thing up? How do you expecite it?
- 7:35Speaker 6: I don't.
- 7:36Speaker 5: I just I don't know how it had I haven't
- 7:37Speaker 5: seen it happen at this scale, at that price.
- 7:41Speaker 6: It just feels like all signs of point into a
- 7:43Speaker 6: getting ban.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I think there's a zero percent chance that TikTok is banned,
- 7:48Speaker 3: thank you zero.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like.
- 7:54Speaker 4: People don't even had the money to buy it. It's
- 7:56Speaker 4: like Van Guarden, Apple could buy it. That's if they
- 7:58Speaker 4: sell it. Well, no, so here's the thing.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Here's the other just before, because there's two things, right,
- 8:04Speaker 5: they can sell it or they're gonna bean it all right?
- 8:07Speaker 1: Is this political gesture?
- 8:09Speaker 3: Shot?
- 8:10Speaker 4: This is like when Trick Trick told him not that
- 8:12Speaker 4: y'all couldn't flop. When Trick Trick told y'all to but.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Some people politics, some people really tried it politics as usual.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Look, is zero percent chance that TikTok is not on
- 8:26Speaker 3: your iPhone six months from now one of a few
- 8:29Speaker 3: a few ways how.
- 8:30Speaker 1: This plays out.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It's political grand standarding, and it just you know, it
- 8:34Speaker 3: doesn't get through the Senate somehow, and they still keep
- 8:39Speaker 3: fighting about this for the next couple of years. Yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 3: if it actually does get through the Senate and then
- 8:44Speaker 3: the President signs it into action and they are forced
- 8:48Speaker 3: to sell the company, they're gonna They're probably already have
- 8:53Speaker 3: a buyer already lined up, and it's going to be
- 8:56Speaker 3: either Microsoft or Apple or one of these huge companies.
- 9:02Speaker 3: But I said, Meta tried Meta, so they're.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Looking they're not letting better do it.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this is how you gotta look at
- 9:09Speaker 3: because you know, this is how you gotta look at
- 9:11Speaker 3: the plan field. Right, Meta tried to acquire TikTok, right
- 9:17Speaker 3: and and got denied by the US government. So, as
- 9:20Speaker 3: an intelligent person put this in the comments looking at
- 9:23Speaker 3: the situation, what does this is like deductive reasoning?
- 9:26Speaker 1: What does this tell you? What does this tell you?
- 9:30Speaker 4: Wall Street or either lobby for him not to be
- 9:34Speaker 4: able to get it, or some people in politics don't
- 9:38Speaker 4: like Zuckerberg enough to let him have a monopoly.
- 9:41Speaker 3: They already wanted to sell a company, yep, right, they
- 9:45Speaker 3: already wanted to do everybody. It's like it's like the
- 9:47Speaker 3: prosecutor and the district attorney. It's like the defense attorney
- 9:52Speaker 3: and the district and the prosecutor. They all go to
- 9:55Speaker 3: lunch at the end of the day. They're all friends,
- 9:58Speaker 3: Chinese American. They all talk. They're talking the back channel.
- 10:01Speaker 1: We need each other each other.
- 10:03Speaker 3: It's like, come on, like all of this is just
- 10:04Speaker 3: for for the public to they all in communication with
- 10:09Speaker 3: each other. If they already wanted to sell the company,
- 10:12Speaker 3: then they already have a buyer lined up for this sale.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Right, his dirrention in it.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Right, the Chinese finance Byte Dances is a Chinese company.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 10:21Speaker 5: They've said that they're not allowing it to be sold
- 10:24Speaker 5: at all. So you're you're saying it's going to exist
- 10:26Speaker 5: because it's being sold. There's a thing called saying something
- 10:29Speaker 5: in public. I'm asking, I'm asking you, are you saying
- 10:31Speaker 5: it's going to exist because it's going to be sold.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I got to finish my communication. There's a thing called
- 10:36Speaker 3: saying something in public. This is a politician through this
- 10:38Speaker 3: all the time. I'll never I'll never support Donald Trump.
- 10:42Speaker 3: And then when the Republican Party says you got to
- 10:45Speaker 3: sign a letter to support Donald Trump, they sign a
- 10:47Speaker 3: letter right there. It's all politics. It's all, it's all
- 10:51Speaker 3: smoking mirrors. It's not real.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You can't believe what's said in the public. It's all.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's a thing called propaganda.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And America is great at propaganda, but is not the
- 11:00Speaker 3: only propagandist. Chinese are propagandas Russians are propagandas the whole
- 11:04Speaker 3: entire world.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Is in the propaganda business.
- 11:08Speaker 3: So what I'm saying is that TikTok is not going
- 11:11Speaker 3: when you have a billion people that's using it, or
- 11:13Speaker 3: have how many people as using it.
- 11:15Speaker 6: Yes, it's a.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Thing called too much, too big to fail, too much power.
- 11:19Speaker 3: They're not going to take away number one and the
- 11:21Speaker 3: must have apps in the app store, And too many
- 11:23Speaker 3: people are making money from it, Americans. Too many Americans
- 11:26Speaker 3: are making money. So they're grant standing and they're putting
- 11:30Speaker 3: out this thing and making it seem like it's a
- 11:32Speaker 3: big fight or whatever. Like I said, Either the Chinese
- 11:35Speaker 3: keep control over it, or they sell it to an
- 11:38Speaker 3: American and get rid of it and make a boatload
- 11:40Speaker 3: of money. Or they sell it to American and still
- 11:44Speaker 3: keep control over it secretly. Option see the option see
- 11:48Speaker 3: play go ahead. See but it's called the puppet strict Yeah, yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 3: for real, So you're the puppet master.
- 11:58Speaker 5: They're saying that it's going to be sold some somehow,
- 12:01Speaker 5: some way, it's gonna be so either whether we know,
- 12:03Speaker 5: it's a.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Fifty fifty chance, because if if the Senate doesn't pass
- 12:08Speaker 3: it along, then they don't have to they don't have
- 12:09Speaker 3: to sell it, right, So the fifty fifty fifty fifty chance.
- 12:12Speaker 3: But if they do pass it along, it's not just
- 12:15Speaker 3: gonna vanish. They're gonna if they're forced to sell. If
- 12:19Speaker 3: they're forced to sell, then they will sell it to
- 12:21Speaker 3: an American suitor, and everybody will make Everybody will make
- 12:24Speaker 3: money from this situation. No, don't cry for the for
- 12:27Speaker 3: the Chinese on this, guys.
- 12:28Speaker 6: No, somebody's gonna make money.
- 12:30Speaker 1: They're gonna make a boat absolute.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why I said one hundred and one hundred
- 12:33Speaker 5: and fifty on the high end, right, But that that deadline,
- 12:36Speaker 5: you think that.
- 12:38Speaker 6: That's a window that's the right window.
- 12:40Speaker 5: This is a distraction GDP of this one hundred and
- 12:44Speaker 5: then you're talking about six months from now.
- 12:45Speaker 6: It brings you to July, right, brings you to July.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Oh, no, September, I'm sorry, wear in marsh se September,
- 12:51Speaker 5: which means you're about two months away from an election
- 12:53Speaker 5: where if that doesn't get signed, you know you're getting
- 12:56Speaker 5: new leadership.
- 12:57Speaker 6: What happens, it's.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Actually is that what it should be focusing on.
- 13:01Speaker 3: This is what I'm saying, like, this is listen, this
- 13:03Speaker 3: is what This is a distraction. They're trying to take
- 13:06Speaker 3: away TikTok. They want to take away TikTok. If they
- 13:09Speaker 3: want to take away TikTok to censor what's being sore
- 13:14Speaker 3: and what's being online. And they are trying to have
- 13:22Speaker 3: big brothers hands in everything. They couldn't do it with
- 13:25Speaker 3: Meta effectively because Mark Zuckerberg's too tapped in. Elon Musk
- 13:30Speaker 3: controls the whole entire world, so nobody can say anything
- 13:33Speaker 3: to X. So they're picking the easiest person in this fight,
- 13:37Speaker 3: a company that's owned by China. That's the easy That's
- 13:39Speaker 3: like saying something is owned by Russia. Once you throw
- 13:41Speaker 3: Russia or China in something. It's easy to get the
- 13:44Speaker 3: American public to just rally against it. And now now
- 13:47Speaker 3: it's about privacy. It was never about privacy. Google owns
- 13:50Speaker 3: all your privacy, Meta owns all your privacycy privacy like,
- 13:55Speaker 3: it's never about privacy. It was never about protecting the word.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Cator that the patriot freedom of speech.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It was never about theative American citizens.
- 14:05Speaker 3: It's about censoring information and how is the best way
- 14:10Speaker 3: to go about it. Big brother has his eyes on everything.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Who's who's in the event let's just say worst case scenario,
- 14:19Speaker 5: this thing is all doubt, it's a suspension or something
- 14:21Speaker 5: like that of it. Let's let's just say it happens.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Who's the beneficiary? Is it directly?
- 14:25Speaker 6: Meta? Is it the beneficiary?
- 14:28Speaker 5: What with as TikTok is down, not TikTok is down
- 14:32Speaker 5: for I don't know, two weeks while they're trying to
- 14:34Speaker 5: figure this thing out, not saying it will be worst
- 14:36Speaker 5: case scenario doomsday that it happens.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Who's is it Meta? Is it X? Is it a snapchat?
- 14:40Speaker 6: Like Google? Is Google?
- 14:42Speaker 5: Who's the beneficiary YouTube? In the event that worst case scenario.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Happens, everybody everybody's a beneficiary, all all the people that
- 14:49Speaker 3: you just name those people. It's a it's a it's
- 14:51Speaker 3: a phrase in the Urban Dictionary called those people. If
- 14:56Speaker 3: you sudden those people, you fellow what I'll be talking
- 15:01Speaker 3: in power, every person in power.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Them are you speaking of them?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:07Speaker 3: Every person in power or they them they it's a
- 15:11Speaker 3: it's a we're now consortium. It's a consortion. So of
- 15:15Speaker 3: course Google's going to benefit. Of course Meta is going
- 15:17Speaker 3: to benefit. Of course X is going to benefit. Of
- 15:21Speaker 3: course politicians that are invested in varieties of different companies
- 15:25Speaker 3: are going to benefit.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Everybody. Everybody benefits one.
- 15:29Speaker 6: You saw her last week. But this is what I'm saying.
- 15:31Speaker 5: If all those people are going to benefit, they put
- 15:33Speaker 5: the thumbs up on you. Oh if all those people
- 15:36Speaker 5: who are going to benefit, imagine in the lobbying to
- 15:38Speaker 5: make sure that this actually could happen.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 7: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 15:45Speaker 7: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 15:49Speaker 7: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 15:53Speaker 7: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 15:57Speaker 7: some of the heinous migrant criminals because of President Donald J.
- 16:02Speaker 7: Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States Secretary of
- 16:05Speaker 7: Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings are
- 16:10Speaker 7: at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over one hundred
- 16:14Speaker 7: thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you are here illegally,
- 16:18Speaker 7: your next you will be fined nearly one thousand dollars
- 16:21Speaker 7: a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will never return. But
- 16:26Speaker 7: if you register using our CBP home app and leave now,
- 16:29Speaker 7: you could be allowed to return legally. Do what's right.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws, border and families
- 16:38Speaker 7: will be protected.
- 16:39Speaker 6: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
