- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! We're so glad you're here. Lucas: Today we're going to review two colours we learned last time: orange and pink. Luna: Oh good, because I keep mixing them up. Lucas: That's exactly why we're reviewing. Let's start with orange. In Malay, orange is 'oren'. Luna: Oren. Lucas: Perfect. Oren. Luna: Oren. That sounds like the fruit itself. Lucas: Exactly, because the colour comes from the fruit. Now for pink: 'merah muda'. Luna: Merah muda. Lucas: Merah muda literally means 'young red'. Luna: Oh, that's cute! So pink is like a young red. Lucas: Right. Let's practice with a sentence. 'Oren itu oren.' The orange is orange. Luna: Oren itu oren. Lucas: Good. Now try: 'Bunga itu merah muda.' The flower is pink. Luna: Bunga itu merah muda. Lucas: Excellent, Luna. Luna: Thanks! You know, it's amazing how Fexingo helps us learn these little phrases. So, back to colours — let's try a quick drill. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: I'll say the English colour, you say the Malay. Orange. Luna: Oren. Lucas: Pink. Luna: Merah muda. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's do a sentence. The flower is pink. Luna: Bunga itu merah muda. Lucas: The orange is orange. Luna: Oren itu oren. Lucas: Nailed it. Now let's mix it up. Imagine you see a pink flower and an orange fruit. Luna: Bunga merah muda dan buah oren. Lucas: Yes! And if you want to say 'the pink flower is pretty'? Luna: Bunga merah muda itu cantik. Lucas: Wow, you're already using new words. Great job. Luna: Thanks! So oren and merah muda. I think I've got it now. Lucas: Let's do one more round of repetition. Repeat after me: oren. Luna: Oren. Lucas: Merah muda. Luna: Merah muda. Lucas: Oren itu oren. Luna: Oren itu oren. Lucas: Bunga itu merah muda. Luna: Bunga itu merah muda. Lucas: Wonderful. Now you can describe orange and pink things in Malay. Luna: I feel so colourful already! Lucas: That's the spirit. Keep practicing these phrases, and next time we'll learn something new. See you then! Luna: Bye bye!
