Latest / One Voice Many Conversations / Crushing Strongholds #051 Special Guest Dr. Laurette Willis-Testimony and Technique to Crush Strongholds
Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to another great episode of Crushing Strongholds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power and trauma into triumph.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: And how do we do that?
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: We do that by exposing the lies of the enemy.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: And how do we do that?
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: We do that through the truth and the word and the love of Jesus Christ.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: We also do that through testimonies, testimonies of faith of overcoming strongholds in our life.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Today I'm super excited.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: I have an amazing guest.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: We've already started this conversation, but we decided we better hit record and get going.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: So I'm so excited to bring on Dr.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Lorette Willis.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: She's a cognitive behavioral therapist, international speaker, and a founder of several global ministries, including the Faith Fuel Transformation Movement and the Weight Loss Without Willpower, Sisterhood and Praise Moves, which is a Christian alternative to yoga, which I absolutely love.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: So I'm going to let her come on, say hello, and tell her about herself.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: So welcome in, Lorette.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Mickey.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: It's wonderful to be here today.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: You know, hearing uh a little bit of that intro there, it just amazes me about what the Lord can do.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I often say to him, Lord, if you can use a donkey, you can use me.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: That's how I feel.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: I feel like a talking donkey for Jesus, you know.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And by the way, did you know that that was a female donkey, Balaam's donkey?
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: It says she, yeah.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So a little thing that I say about that is that she didn't say he-haw.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: She said she-ha! But that's that's this such a cool thing.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: He's not looking for our ability, but our availability.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And when you allow the Lord to use you as that vessel of honor that he can flow through, and taking those things from the past and just casting them over on him and what he can do with them.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: I can see that everything in my life, Mickey, that has been such a negative in my life, the Lord has redeemed, has turned around, and it's become platforms.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, they've become platforms of health and healing and help for others.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: So I hope that encourages you who's listening today, that the Lord can absolutely use you right where you are, and uh take all those things from the past, that they're not there to hold you back, but to push you forward.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: They can they can be that platform that helps others to advance.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: And they'll see what wow, she's not a talking head.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: He's not a talking head.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: He's been there, done that, got the t-shirt, burned it, you know, and God helped him, God helped her.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Maybe God will help me.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: So let the Lord use you.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Thank you for that.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: That's wonderful.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Great introduction.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: This is gonna be a great conversation.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Um, so this being um crushing strongholds, I know that you you have done many, many things.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I I'm so impressed by your website, all the things that you've done.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: You've been like you've done shows, exercise programs, wellness programs.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I love that you incorporate um neural science into scripture um and ministry.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I think that's amazing.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Um, I think people are starting to shift a little bit into that realm where they're starting to look into it to see what's what.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Um, I've been always interested in that.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Like I mentioned prior, um I I've dealt with people with dementia, so I understand the cognitive ability or the the disability actually, where they're losing their cognitive ability.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: But with um crushing strongholds, going back to Corinthians um um 10 5, where we're talking about um pulling down the strongholds and taking every thought captive and and and taking it to the knowledge of God.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: I love that scripture, and that's what this whole podcast actually is um uh doved around because we as people, I think, in our brain, as our brains are percepting thoughts, I I look at it like this.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: We are the captain of our ship.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: We're supposed to be.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: But sometimes our thoughts come in and that where we have to take that thought captive, we can either take the thought captive or it can become the captain.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: So we need to really be in tune with what our thoughts are doing so we know who's actually operating our shift, our our ship, I mean.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: So are we operating it?
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Are we allowing our emotions and our thoughts to operate it?
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So I love that you you talk about the neuroscience behind things because it just is so interesting that fascinates me.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Um, I feel like um we do not use utilize the power and the gifts that God has given us because of those thoughts that have come and taken captive of who we are.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And through through tragedies, through traumas, through pain, through um circumstances, I believe that plays a factor in it.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: The trials and tribulations that we face, I think, um, alter and detour us where we go sometimes.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Um, like we, you know, talked before we started recording, you know, even in my own life.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: But with you, I know that you have a testimony that I want to hear about.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: So I want you to share with myself and our listeners um w where you started and how you got to where you are now and what that testimony looks like.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you so much, Mickey, for mentioning that.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And you know, you mentioned about 2 Corinthians 10 verses 4 and 5, and it talks about casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, which is in the word of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, in other words, obedience to the word of the living God.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: And I hope you all stay tuned because I have two exciting brain exercises, retrain the brain exercises to share with you.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: And one is based on 2 Corinthians 10, verses 4 and 5.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I call it the casting down imaginations technique.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And so I want you to think of, we're not going to do it right now, but I just want you to prepare for it because I want to share my testimony about how the Lord has used that uh to change my life and to crush strongholds in my life as well, which are many times, you know, right between our ears, right?
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: So um think of a thought that keeps coming to you perhaps over the years, right?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And it's one that just it just pops up, you know, every so often, maybe every day, maybe every hour, and it disturbs your peace, you know, it disturbs your shalom.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: That shalom peace of God.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: In Hebrew, shalom means peace, uh, wholeness, completeness, salvation.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: It also means nothing missing, nothing broken, and the power uh that destroys uh chaos.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Isn't that powerful?
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: That that peace, shalom, is the power that destroys chaos.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace or Tsar, S-A-R, Tsar Shalom in Hebrew.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: So he's the prince of the power that uh destroys chaos and the authority over chaos.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: So peace is active, it's not passive, it's active and it's powerful.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: So think of that thought.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: You may even want to just write down that thought, maybe a few words, because we are going to obliterate that thing, all right?
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And then the second one I'm gonna share with you cuts cravings, food cravings especially, but really any cravings, in 10 to 15 seconds.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: It's a bilateral brain stimulation technique.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: So stay tuned, and we'll have that in a little bit.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: But where do I come from?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: You know, on the outside, Mickey, everything just looked so lovely.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I grew up on Long Island, uh, New York, or as we say, Long Islands.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: You know, those of us who are from Long Island talk that way.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: My whole family talks like that.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: My um my father was from Brooklyn, my mother from Queens, and they worked on their accents, and so they didn't have accents.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: The rest of the family talks like that.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: They call me Lori, my husband's Paul.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: You walk the dog, have a cup of coffee, get out of here, you know what I'm talking about.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: But that's that's from once I come.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: And I live in northeastern Oklahoma, so I think I talk like that, or maybe something in between the two, you know what I mean?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So it's really fun.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Just kind of run the whole, the whole gamut there.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: But everything just looked so lovely on the outside.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Farming down Long Island.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Both my parents were attorneys.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: They met during the bar review course for, you know, to pass the bar in uh um in law school to get their degrees.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: My father was also a judge, he had his own uh law practice.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: My mother was the first woman assistant district attorney on Long Island.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Um, just uh she also taught at the university.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: So everything, I mean, just looked great.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: But on the inside, there was there was trauma, there was instability.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: I was my parents' only child, and um my mother was diagnosed uh schizophrenic.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: She had three nervous breakdowns when I was growing up.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: She was also a high-functioning alcoholic.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Um no surprise, I became a high-functioning alcoholic when I was 13 and um drank for the next 16 years until I came to the end of myself when I was 29 years old and surrendered my life to Jesus Christ.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And immediately he delivered me from alcoholism, the most amazing thing.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: My father was an emotional eater, uh compulsive overeater.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Uh I became uh a compulsive overeater, uh, an emotional eater at the age of six.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: My dad was also a um what's called a rage a holic.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: He would have uh, you know, rage is not physically abusive, but would yell, you know, things like that.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: So there was a lot of trauma going on in inside the home.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And to cope, I found food was my friend when I was six years old.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: And I discovered that I could numb myself sufficiently.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I remember my mother was taking a nap in the afternoon.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: I was about six years old.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: I don't know if she was napping or if she'd been drinking, whatever, but I ran into the the bedroom and I touched her on the cheeks and I said, Mommy, mommy, I can't stop eating.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: For the previous hour I'd been just stuffing my face with food.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: My top weight was when I was 13.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And then that's when I found alcohol and was able to control some of the eating, then found cigarettes when I was 15, promiscuous lifestyle, death style when I was 16.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: I'll put it this way it's amazing.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: I'm still alive.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: I know people must have been praying for me.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: And so I say this to encourage you.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: Keep praying for that person.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, keep praying for that person that the Lord's put on your heart.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Your son, your daughter is not lost.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: They're on the way.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You see them saved.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: God heard you the first time.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: You start praying, you start praising him for it.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: You know, there's a wonderful prayer that I pray.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: I keep it right here on my desk because it's just such a simple thing.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And you may want to just really write this down quick because it's so powerful.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: I take the name of Jesus and I break the power of the devil over the person's life.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: So I take the name of Jesus and I break the power of the devil over, I'll just say Johnny, over Johnny's life, and claim his or her deliverance, then his or her full salvation in Jesus' name.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Now I'll say it for, let's say, someone named Susan, right?
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: I take the name of Jesus and I break the power of the devil over Susan's life, and I claim her deliverance, and then her full salvation in Jesus' name.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: That simple.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: You're taking that authority over that person's life, and then you start praising the Lord that he, she is saved, healed, delivered, serving God.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: You see them in church with their hands uplifted.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord, scripture says.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: And I want you to see that.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Use your sanctified imagination and start praising God that it's done.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: You don't have to keep begging him.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: He heard you the first time.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: And you might see a shift in that person's life that seems to be going the opposite way.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Just say, no, no, no, Mr.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Devil.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: You can't have Susie, you can't have Johnny, you can't have my mother, my father, my you just say it.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: No, I speak the blood of Jesus over them in the name of Jesus.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: You take that Luke 10, 19 authority that Jesus gave you.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Luke 10.19, where he said, Behold, I give you authority over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the devil, and nothing, nothing shall by any means harm you.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Well, Mickey, when I was uh a child, I didn't know that.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Although I was very close to the Lord, I used to have visions.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: I heard his voice, his audible voice over my right shoulder.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: There were times I would hear his voice between the ages of three and a half and six.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: They were powerful things.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: And then the wall came up when I was six years old, that age of accountability.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: I called it the wall came up.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: I felt this separation from the Lord until I surrendered my life to him when I was 29 years old.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Whenever there's a spiritual vacuum, the enemy rushes in.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: And so at the age of seven, my mother and I found yoga, thinking it was just exercise.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: We saw it on television.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: There was a uh a daily television show on right after the Jack Lelane uh uh reruns, you know.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: Remember Jack Lelane, right?
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: You know, with his beautiful, uh beautiful wife and his wonderful German shepherds, and mom and I would work out to the reruns, and then there was this yoga show right after it.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Well, yoga I call the missionary arm of Hinduism and New Age.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm not the only one.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Uh Swami Siva Siva Palani said in 1991 in an open letter to Jeff Evangelicals in Hinduism Today magazine, this was 1991 now, he said, over the last 10 years, um a small army of yoga missionaries have set forth upon the Western world, beautifully trained in Hatha, Raja, Siddha, Kundalini, which are different types of yoga.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I taught Hatha yoga, that's the type that's in many fitness centers and churches.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: Wait till you hear who the Lord of Yoga is, it's not Jesus.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: Did you know that the yoga poses are offerings to the 330 million Hindu gods?
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: That'll jerk the slack out of you, wouldn't it?
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, to find to find that out.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: You can learn more at our praisemoves.com website.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: But anyway, that's what Swami Sivasiva Palani said.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: And he said that these yoga missionaries, which we would call yoga instructors, may not call themselves Hindus, he said.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And this is a quote, but Hindus know where yoga came from and where it leads.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what happened to my mom and me.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: We were drawn into New Age and we started going to an ashram in upstate New York, you know, a couple of times a year, a few times.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I was blessed in air quotes by um Swami Sachidananda when I was a little, you know, a wee better than a little little child.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and he was known as the guru of uh Woodstock.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: He opened the Woodstock Big Festival in what was it, 1970 or 69, something like that.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: So that was a lot of my background, and it drew me into um into new age.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I became a psychic, I became a channel, I was into you know the auras and healing and uh Reiki and of course uh yoga um and crystals and everything from A to Z, astrology to Zoroastrianism and everything in between.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: I traveled around the world, went to so-called sacred sites, uh, backpacking around Europe uh for six and a half months, going to 20 countries, going to Machu Picchu in Peru, uh going to Asia.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, looking, looking, looking.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I wasn't trying to find myself.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: I didn't like myself.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: I wanted to find God, looking for God in all the wrong places.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And sadly, at the age of uh when I was 24, my mother took her own life.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: My parents were divorced.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, mom uh took her own life when I was 24, and then two years later, my father died of diabetes and heart disease.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: And I had been an actor in New York, uh, known as the woman of 101 voices.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: I was an improvisational comedian.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: I did the Betty Boop show off Broadway.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: I certainly did.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Boop-boop bee doo, you know, laughing on the outside but empty on the inside.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: I'd do all these different characters, improv, and it was it was wild.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Practicing alcoholic, high-functioning alcoholic, but amazing.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: I'm still I used to have, Mickey, I used to have blackouts where I would blackout as an alcoholic and would wake up running through the streets of New York City.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: What?
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: You know, people must have been praying for me.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Angels are real, my brother, sister.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: I want you to know that they are.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Psalm 91, 11, for he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: So just know the enemy has a plan, but God has a better plan, and he has a plan for you, and he'll use whatever it takes to bring you to your knees.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: I don't mean that he necessarily causes those things, but he will use those things.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: For me, it was loneliness, Mickey.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: I was 29 years old, and I wanted someone to love me for myself.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I was living in a new age community in uh northeastern Oklahoma on top of a mountain.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I'd left everything in New York thinking, let me just go where I'm happy.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And I just thought that geographical cure.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: But like they say, wherever you go, there you are.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: You know, I followed me out there.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: I thought I left her back in New York, but no, she followed me.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so there I am.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: You know, and after a year, I was still miserable, you know, even though I was being I was bringing being groomed for uh for new age ministry.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they have these counterfeits in the new age.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: You know, the enemy's not a creator, he takes everything, uh, tries to take everything that the Lord has created because all things were made by him, for him, through him.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Without him was nothing made that was made without Jesus.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Jesus is the word of the living God, amen.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: So the enemy tries to take those things and twist them to bring them to the people to the feet of a false idol, but he's not a creator.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: And so after a year, I really come to the end of myself.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: I wanted someone to love me for myself.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: I was miserable.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: And I uh it was the day before April Fool's Day.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: I was 29 years old, and I was driving home to my little house on top of a mountain in this new age community, and I heard a voice over my right shoulder.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: And I knew it was the voice of the Lord that I'd heard when I was a little child.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: And he asked me a very compelling question.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: I pulled on to the side of the dirt road and stopped.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: I didn't even look around.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I was frozen.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: But the question he asked me was, what if everything you thought about God was completely wrong?
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Would you be willing to give it up to know the truth?
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: What if everything I thought about God was completely wrong, but I'd be willing to give it up to know the truth the truth?
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Yes, I would.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I'd spend thousands and thousands of dollars going all over the world looking for God in all the wrong places, yes, thinking maybe the truth was like a new philosophy, a new uh conference, a book, or just you know, another thing, not realizing the truth is a person, Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: I found that out later, but I said, yes, yes, I would.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: I drove home the next day was April 1st, April Fool's Day, when I went from being a fool for the world to a fool for Christ.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: There was a battle, Mickey, going on on the inside of me.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: There were strongholds that were built there, and the enemy was trying to hold on.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: And I was at that point of, like I said, coming to the end of myself.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: And these thoughts see the enemy pushes.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: The enemy will push, push, push.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: The Lord guides and says, Come, come, come.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: So I felt this pushing from the end.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe uh uh get that book, get your tarot cards, uh, get your pendulum.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: Uh uh, you're going to that conference in a few days, and you know, maybe you'll have that another spiritual experience, because I'd have profound spiritual experiences that were like living on cotton candy.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: It tastes sweet, melts in the mouth, but you'll die if you try to live on it.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: It was just like these little quick fixes, but nothing.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: I felt like a like a donkey with a uh this like a fishing rod over and a string with a carrot dangled.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: I was always going for that carrot, but never getting it, never getting what I really needed, which is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: And the Lord's saying, Come, surrender, come, love compelling me, just come.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: And finally, I just came to this breaking point, Mickey.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: I just said, I surrender, I give up, you win.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: If you can do something with this life, you can have it.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: I can't live like this anymore.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: And I fell on my knees and I said, If you want me to be alone, then give me peace.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: If you want me to be with someone, send them soon because I cannot live like this anymore.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: And I fell on my face and I felt a physical weight lift off.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: It was a physical, a physical weight, felt like about 30 pounds lifted, lifted off me.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: And then peace.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: Came upon me for the first time in my life.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And from the center of that peace came joy.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: That joy unspeakable and full of glory, not mere happiness based on circumstances, happenstances, happiness, no, but that joy on the inside, like a like a fountain on the inside.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: And I realized later at that moment the Lord delivered me from alcoholism.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: I didn't even ask for that.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: I never had another drink, never had a desire for it.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: It was totally washed from my brain for over a year that I even drank.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: It never even occurred, totally gone.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: And four days later, I met my husband Paul, who had three years clean and sober.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: So alcohol drugs never came into our relationship.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And three months later, we were married on 4th of July, which we call Interdependence Day.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: The Lord is great and greatly to be praised.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: So that is my story.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Um I I I can only say that when you're when you're raised in an alcoholic family, um, I can relate with the mom side of that.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know my father, but excuse me that it's it's a completely different uh type of living compared to people that don't understand what we're what what we're talking about in that aspect.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: But I I what intrigues me most about your testimony is you've traveled the whole world and it makes me a little bit sad is that you're looking for God, but you you didn't find him in all those places because I'm the opposite.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: I see God in everything.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: And I was saved when I was 10 years old at a Billy Graham crusade, mind you.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: And and so, like, but I I had this desire, and I already I already knew kind of like what you said, you knew that Jesus was with you, but you you hadn't you weren't saved yet.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: You were searching for something, you knew there was more, there's something to this this um um connection that God gives us it, you know, when he creates us, we're connected already.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: And so you're going through the whole entire world, and it makes me so sad that you know you haven't found God until you got go through all of these stages, and then you find him.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: And I'm the opposite.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I see God everywhere all the time and everything.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: And and I was like, man, I it makes me think like um, you know, when we think about our abilities to think on things that we get so consumed by something that we can't think outside the box.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: We can't, our blinders are on, we're blocked, and we can't go to the next dream.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: You're still looking for God, but you can't because you have all of these things that have already corrupted and um filled you up like a sponge.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: You know, you sponged all this stuff from when you were young all the way up, um, especially with yoga.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't I don't like yoga at all, by the way.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: I like to exercise, but I don't do yoga for the same um reasons that you explained.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: And um when people say, Oh, yoga is not bad, I'm like, Yeah, yeah, well, I'm not doing that.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: You know, let me tell you a little bit, you know?
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: And and I don't know half as much as you know about it.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Um, that's another reason why I was so interested in and um following you and learning what you have to teach on that, because um I do know that that we are supposed to worship what God wants us to worship, which is God, nothing of any other type of culture or or religion or or um um practice, even a practice.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: We can we can worship a practice, which yoga is a practice, you practice it every day.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: It's a physical thing.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: You think you're making yourself well by using it, but you're actually not.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Um, and um my daughter got into it for a while, and she's like, Mom, you gotta try just do this exercise.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: And she called it an exercise, and I was like, Okay.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: And I was like, this kind of looks like yoga, and you know, and then I got kind of like, you know, I go, and she goes, Well, it is yoga, and I go, I'm not doing I'm not doing this anymore.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: I don't like yoga.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: And she's like, she's like, but you should, but it makes you feel good.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: I go, no, don't do yoga anymore.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: So now she doesn't do yoga anymore.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: So, but it's amazing how we get so wrapped up and consumed.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: We we get drawn, and the enemy is so quick.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: I love what you said that the enemy is not creative, but what the enemy does is he comes in and he steals our creativity.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: He he he feeds off from that because he wants to destroy it, he wants to be destructive in our lives in any way he can.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: And if he can do it through our capabilities and our creativity that God gave us, then he can detour us away from the Father.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: That's his that's his motive.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: If he can come in and still kill and destroy you, that's exactly what he's gonna do.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: And he'll take your he'll he'll take all of your creativity and flip it in order to detour you down that that path.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: And it's so crazy when if we don't stay um aware, we don't have that renewing constantly.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: The renewing of the mind isn't a one-time, oh, I'm gonna go get I'm you know, it's kind of like I'm gonna go do this one time and then bam, you're renewed for the rest of your life.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: It's a continual, you know, flowing, you know, like that joyful river.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: It's gotta be flowing, you know.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: Um we wanna make sure that we're renewing our mind continuously.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Or the the enemy just comes right back, he's gonna come right back with with one of your other thoughts, and he's gonna get in there and he's gonna um corrupt it, and then you're gonna have to battle it again, kind of like I said in the beginning, you know, who's the captain of your ship?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Your your thoughts, are they are are you taking your thoughts captive or are they controlling you?
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Are they distorting you?
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Are they taking you, you know, all around the whole entire world while you're searching for God and God's already within you?
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: You already have God.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: All you have to do is ask for Him to be there.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: He's He says, Come boldly, come boldly to me.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: And um, we don't have to be afraid.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: And I I love one other thing that you mentioned is that it's so interesting how when we pray to God repetitiously, over and over and over again, and you say you said he hurt you the first time.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: I don't know how many times I prayed a prayer over and over and over and over and over and over again, it becomes almost like you said we're begging for it.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: We're begging for it.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: That is almost an insult to God because we are demonstrating how much we don't believe in him.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: If we go to God and we ask him one time, we have to believe that he's going to honor our prayer because he says he will.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: But when we don't and we go back and we beg for it, then we honestly didn't truly believe in what we are praying for to begin with.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: We need to hold to that.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: So, man, what what a lot today.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: This is so awesome.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I can't, this is so good.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: I can't wait till we get into like um the the stronghold demonstration.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: Let's well, you know, I hear someone listening and they say, Well, wait a second, doesn't scripture say pray without ceasing, but it doesn't necessarily mean pray without ceasing about the same thing.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: We can continually pray and pray for others, you know, and and pray, have your heart open to the things that the Lord would have you pray about.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: But when you ask him in prayer, along with his word, because here's the great scripture for this, and you may want to write this down if you're you're listening today.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: It's uh 1 John 5 verses 14 and 15.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: 1 John 5 verses 14 and 15 says, This is the confidence that we have in him, not in ourselves, but in him.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, which is his word, he hears us.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: And if we know he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have, the amplified says, as our present possession.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: We know that we have those petitions we've desired of him.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: So if we're asking something in line with his word, we know that faith begins where the will of God is known.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: You get to know as you're getting, you know, renewing of the mind, you're learning what it is that the Lord has, what's his will for us, what are the promises of God?
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: And and in Hebrew, a good way of looking at that, the promises of God are royal proclamations of the king.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Those are the promises.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, promises are meant to be broken.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: You know, you're thinking about human promises.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about the royal proclamations of the king of kings, yes, and you're basing your prayer on that.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Lord, your word says, because he says, Remind me of my word, not because he's forgetful, he wants you to speak it out of your mouth.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Because Romans 10:17, faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: And we know that faith is the substance.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: It's a substance.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Faith is actually a substance with which God made the world.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: Where do you see that, Lorette?
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: Hebrews 11 1 through 3.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Hebrews 11 1 says by uh says uh now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: It's the title deed, you could say.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: You know, one translation says, before you moved into your your house, you were you had a deed for it.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: But you know, could someone walk up to you and say, Oh, that's not your house, you're not living in that house.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: You go, no, uh-uh, I've got the deed right here.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Nuh-uh, it's mine.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: You know, it's the same thing.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: That's what faith is.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: How do I get that faith?
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, I wish I had your faith, Lorraine.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: If you got one of these things, you got my faith, girl, you got my faith.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: Well, you got to just say it.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: You say it out of your mouth.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: The word of God says we're gonna do that exercise in a minute.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: So, just to finish that one thought about pray without ceasing, you say the prayer, and you just, okay, I have that assurance on the inside.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Lord, we have it now.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: It may not be in my head, my hands, my circumstances yet, but I believe I receive that.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Where do we see that?
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Mark 11, 24.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Jesus himself said in Mark 11.24, whatever things you ask, when you pray, right this moment when you pray, believe that you receive it, believe you take it, it says in the Greek, and you will have it.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Not in the sweet by and by, but in the blessed here and now.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: Well, how can I have it now?
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: It's not in my head, my hands, my circumstances yet.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: I believe you can receive into your spirit, because to believe God is to receive from God.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: I receive my healing because God said it's mine.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: I receive the salvation of my loved one because God said it's ours.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: He wished above all things that we prosper and be in health, even as our soul.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: You see, you just go back to the evidence.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: What is the evidence?
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: You're standing up, it's like you're standing up in court and you're saying, This is the evidence.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: It's irrefutable.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: So if it's not in your head, your hands, your circumstances yet, but it is in your spirit, you start praising the Lord that you have it.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: And I like seeing it this way that praise is the highway from the heart to the head.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: You're praising the Lord that you have like, okay, there's someone here right now who is uh who's saying, I I need to, I need to make a decision right now, and I don't know which way to go.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure which way to go.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: Whatever it is, you need wisdom.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: Go to the word of God, and you want to write this scripture down if you're looking for wisdom.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: James 1, verses 5 and 6.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: James 1 verses 5 and 6 says, Whoever lacks wisdom, let him come to God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering, and it will be given to him.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: Well, Lord, I wouldn't ask if I didn't have the faith, the faith that you gave me to begin with.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: And so that's why I'm coming to you right now.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: And so now I take that.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: This is like a recipe or a formula.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: You take the first part with healing, whatever it is that you need.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: We're saying wisdom right at this moment.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Now you take the second part of the formula, whatever it is, Mark 11, 24.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: Whatever things you ask when you pray, Jesus said, believe you receive it and you will have it.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: So, Lord, you said I could have that wisdom.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Lord, I believe I receive it right now.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: And this is what I know from neuroscience, being a cognitive behavioral therapist.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: What I love to do is renew the mind on the word of God, then retrain the brain using neuroscience principles and techniques based on scripture.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: When you do something physically that is mirroring what's happening spiritually, emotionally, mentally, it has a great impression upon your brain that something real is happening.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: And it is.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: So when you're receiving wisdom from God or healing, whatever it is, if you can get your body involved somehow, like right now, what I'm doing is I'm raising my hands.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm receiving that wisdom.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: I'm receiving it into my spirit, you could say, into your heart, into the center of your being, the real you.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Remember, you are a spirit made in the image of God, Genesis 1:26 and 27.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: You have a soul, your mind, will, and emotions.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: You live in a body, the earth suit, the temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6 19.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: And so I'm receiving by faith the most powerful force in all creation with which God made the world, by faith, Hebrews 11.3.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: I'm receiving that wisdom right now, and I thank you for it, Lord.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: I thank you.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so good to know what to do.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: Wait a second.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: You say I'm receiving the wisdom from God, but but I don't know what to do.
- 35:04SPEAKER_00: I don't uh and the devil says, You're lying.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: You don't know what to do.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: I rebuke you, Satan, in the name of Jesus.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: You get out of here.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: God's not a liar.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: He said, Whatever things I ask when I pray, believe, I receive it, I have it.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: I have it now.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: I have it in my spirit right now.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: So instead of having your mind, will, emotions, body, and circumstances dictate to your spirit, you have your spirit, who is the real you, through the word of God, dictate to your mind, will, emotions, body, and circumstances.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: And I promise you, they will come into alignment.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: Usually it doesn't take more than three days.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: You might have the answer in three minutes, three hours, three days.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: But if you continue to praise the Lord that you have it, and then you start thanking him that you have it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: So if it's for healing, you start saying, Oh, Lord, it feels so good.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: You start talking about feeling, you're talking to your feelings.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, it feels so good to be healed.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: It feels so good to do the things I couldn't do before.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: If it's wisdom, oh, it's so good to know what to do.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Glory to God, I know what to do.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Your brain's going, um, what, what, what?
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: But after a while, it's gonna sit down and shut up because it's like, okay, obviously she knows something that I don't know.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna kind of be quiet and sit back and watch.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: And what will happen within a day or two, and usually no more than three days, because you just keep saying every time you think of it, oh Lord, thank you.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: I know what to do.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, what a relief.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: We know exactly what to do.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Wow, wow, what a weight off my shoulders.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Jesus.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lord.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: I know what to do.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: The mind stops arguing and it sits back, and you might be washing the dishes, taking a nap, taking a walk, you get up, just and all of a sudden your mind opens up kind of like a flower, and the revelation comes from the inside from your spirit, man.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: Remember, the Holy Spirit on the inside of your recreated human spirit, if you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, gives you the answer.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: The wisdom has been there.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: Jesus said He'll bring all the Holy Spirit.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: But the holy wind of God will bring all things to remembrance, all things I've said to remembrance to you.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And so the wisdom comes up, all of a sudden it comes up to your mind, all and it will just be like I know what to do.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, I really do know what to do.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: I've been saying I know what to do, and I had that assurance, just like that witness on the like a piece.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: I had this peace on the inside.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: I wasn't anymore like, oh, what am I gonna?
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: But I received, but now, oh, oh, I know what I know because you stopped fighting it, because you believed God for it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: So that's what I want you to do.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: When you pray, praise the Lord for it, thank him for it, receive the answer, and then continually praise him.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: Thank him that it's done, and you will see miracles take place in your life.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Would you like to try that little exercise of casting down imaginations?
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: I would love to.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: I would love to.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: I've gone I've I've gone on a blue streak here.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: So especially with, you know, it relates so much to crushing strongholds because, you know, we're trying to break those strongholds.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: And I believe that when you're when you're going through types of deliverance, there's ways and mechanisms through even medit, you know, like even Joshua 1.8, you know, it encourages meditating on the word.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: Like just meditating on the word helps break strongholds.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: There's so many different things and variations that you can do that will help um separate us from those strongholds that hold us back from our God-given purpose.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: Because God designed us, his characteristic, literally, when creating us was to design us to be um um a you know servant.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: We we we we are designed to serve one another.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: Not like, you know, not like like be a doorman.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: I'm talking about like in service, but and um to have a an assignment.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: God has already given us an assignment, but a lot of us don't even live up to our God-given purpose and our assignment because of all of the strongholds that we allow to be attached to us and hold us.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: That's what strongholds do.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: They hold, they hold you back.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: And so I want any, I love anything that helps release some of that.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm excited.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: Let's let's do this.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's do this.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: Now, because of my background that I shared with you, my mind, my brain, my thoughts, a lot of garbage, a lot of garbage up there.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: For 10 years, from the ages of six until I was 16, I would look at myself in the mirror, look at myself in the eyes, and inspired by the enemy, I know, I would look in the mirror and I'd say, You're fat, you're ugly, you're stupid, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: What does that do to a kid who says that to themselves in the eyes for 10 years?
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: Of course, it changes the direction that you go.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: If you want to change the results that you're having, it takes these five steps.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: When you change your self-talk, you have to change your self-talk.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: When you change your self-talk, you change what you believe about yourself.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: And this is just science, but what we do is we add the word of God.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: So, neuroscience, science is the science of self-talk, you can say.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: When you change your self-talk, you change what you believe about yourself.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: When you change what you believe about yourself, you change your attitude.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: When you change your attitude, you change your feelings.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: When you change your feelings, now here's where it comes from the inside to the outside.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: When you change your feelings, you change your actions.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: When you change your actions, you change your results.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: So if you want to change the results that you're having, you have to go boop, boop, bup, bup, bup, all the way back to what is it that I'm saying to myself?
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: So I had a lot of garbage in my head from years of new age and and fear.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: I was I was riddled and ruled by fear most of my life.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: That was why I was a compulsive overeater.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: That's why I was an alcoholic, that's why I had was in abusive, dead-end relationships.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: I just fear, fear, fear, fear.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: When I became a believer, I still had some of that fear on me.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: And I realized, wow, it's not me.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: In fact, it's not even a feeling.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: 2 Timothy 1.7.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: 2 Timothy 1.7 says, God has not given you a spirit of fear.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: It's a spirit and God didn't give it to you.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: Well, who did?
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: The enemy.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind and self-discipline, it says in the amplifier.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: It is a spirit.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: So when you feel that spirit come, and I've had it wash over me like a wave, you rebuke it in the name and authority of Jesus.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: In the name of Jesus, I command that fear to leave, because God has not given me a spirit of fear, but a power, love, and a sound mind.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: You know, perfect love casts out fear, first John says, you know.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: And who's the author of perfect love?
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: Who is perfect love?
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: God.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: And so you just throw your hands up in the air and say, Lord, I love you.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: I thank you.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: You take care of me.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: You're with me always.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: You've not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: I have a spirit of power.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: I have a spirit of love.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: I have a spirit of a sound mind because of you, Jesus.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lord.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lord.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden that joy comes up, which is your strength, Nehemiah 8:10.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: The joy of the Lord is your strength.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: So rejoice in the Lord always.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: Again, I say rejoice, especially if you don't feel like it, because that becomes that sacrifice of praise.
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: And then you're living from the inside to the outside instead of the outside to the inside.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: So now let us take 2 Corinthians 10 verses 4 and 5.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: Let's take it personally.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: I hope you wrote down that thought or thought about it.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're driving, please don't do this exercise right now, but come back to the episode and do it with us a little later, okay?
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: And then I have a second, really super quick exercise for canceling uh uh cravings in 10 to 15 seconds.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: But this is how the Lord renewed my mind, and he showed me this long before I knew anything about neuroscience.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: Now, you're going to be using your right hand.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: Now, depending upon how you're seeing this, it might look like your left, but I want you to use your right hand, okay?
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: Because on the right side of the brain, this is where, now, this is different from when we talk about, oh, right brain, left brain, we're more artistic, we're more into math.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not that kind of a thing.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: This is on the right side of the brain, a lot of uh negative thoughts, a lot of toxic thoughts, a lot of fear thoughts.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: And when there's a lot of fear and toxicity, we do not process thoughts easily.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: We don't process um results easily because it has to wade through that Amazonian jungle of fear and complexity and fight or flight and all that stuff.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: So we're changing that.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: There's such a thing as neuroplasticity.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: You hear that word plastic in it meaning changeable, it's not cement.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: You can actually change.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: The physical structure of your brain, and it's a cool thing to do, and you will feel different.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: You will notice that you don't have uh a lot of those thoughts that you did before, because what we're gonna do is we're gonna cast down those bad thoughts, we're gonna make them go away, and then we're going to take a good thought instead.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: Now, the one thing I didn't uh share with you, but you might want to look up in a concordance later or just take some of the examples that I give you.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: We're going to take out that bad thought, but then we're going to implant the truth from the word of God.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: So, for example, I'm going to take something that I would always say, I'm stupid.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: You know, oh, I'm so stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: No, no, maybe you had a thought like that.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: So, what would be something that God has said that's positive?
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: Well, there's something in the Word of God that says, I have the mind of Christ.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's not stupid at all.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to get rid of I'm stupid, and I'm going to put in, I have the mind of Christ.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: And said, see, it's that, it's that simple, all right?
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: Based on God's word.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: So now this is physical.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: Now you got to act like a four-year-old child for this, Mickey.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: Is that okay?
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: I'm going to try.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, it won't take much, but I'll try.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: No.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: Well, Mark 10, 15 says, Except you receive the kingdom of God as a little child, you will by no means enter it.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: So this is childlike, not childish.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: And so God invites us to be like children, to believe him, take him at his word.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: So that's what we're going to do.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: So now take that thought.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: And now what you do is you take your right hand and now you scrape gently along the forehead, like you're grabbing that thought.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: That's what you're going to do.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: You're going to grab a thought and then you're going to cast it down.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: But first, I want you to be objective about your thoughts.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: I want you to see that thought.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: Thoughts are like birds flying overhead.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: They can fly overhead.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: You don't have to let them make a nest in your hair.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: But let's say you just had that thought come by.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: I'm stupid, or I'm fat, or I'm ugly, or I made a bad mistake, or I regard whatever the thought is, whatever it is.
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: Be observed.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: Step back for a moment.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: You might even just sit back in your chair.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: Just kind of sit back and oh, I just saw that thought go by.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: Now you got to be like a four-year-old child and please repeat after me.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: Is that a gift from Jesus?
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: Is that a gift from Jesus?
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: No.
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: No.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: I cast down that vain imagination.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: I cast down that vain imagination.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: That high thing.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: That high thing.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: That's exalting itself against the knowledge of God.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: That's exalting itself against the knowledge of God.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: You step on it.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: And I bring into captivity.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: And I bring into captivity every thought.
- 46:54SPEAKER_00: Every thought.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: To the obedience of Christ.
- 46:58SPEAKER_00: To the obedience of Christ.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Obedience to the word of the living God.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Obedience to the word of the living God.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Because the word of the living God says.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: Because the word of the living God says.
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: And then now you say whatever the scripture is that would counter the lie from the enemy.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: For me, it is, I have the mind of Christ.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: You could say that I have the mind of Christ.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: Of Christ.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lord.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: I have the mind of Christ.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: Glory to God.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: And you could say more scriptures if you wanted.
- 47:29SPEAKER_00: So anytime that thought comes up, and I've done this thousands of times.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: I cast down that vain imagination, that high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Obedience the word of the living God, because the word of the living God says, I have the mind of Christ.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Christ has been made unto me wisdom from God and righteousness, sanctification and redemption, as it is written, He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: I glory in you, Lord.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Father God.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: I've had to do that thousands of times because I was so messed up, Mickey.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: And I just tell you, the Lord delivered me.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: He did, and he has changed my thoughts.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: He's changed my life.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: He's given me a life I never could have imagined before.
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: But it's all through him.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Amen to that.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: That's that's wonderful.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: I was thinking of the thought, and I was thinking of the replacement.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: And um it's funny because you said 2 Timothy 1.7, and I already had I already had that scripture already up and ready.
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, she nailed it.
- 48:29SPEAKER_01: She she was like you read my mind because I love that we think about like we talked about fear before we started recording, how fear is like a detrimental stronghold in our life, and we let that hold us back.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: But God gives us the power of um, the power and of love and of a sound mind.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: And so that was the scripture that I actually uh would use in casting down a thought because it gives me power over that thought.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: It also renews me with love, and then it brings my mind to a sound realm to where I'm not distorted anymore.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: And I love that because we we often sometimes think, or myself, I'll say myself, I can't say we um I I do that, I talk like in the second, third person sometimes, but um when I'm dealing with thoughts, one of my one of my biggest thoughts that that I had growing up, which was really hard for me, was I was told constantly that I would never measure up and I was never good enough.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Always, all the time, no matter what I did.
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: And I always would try super hard to be so much better at everything I was doing.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: I overexcelled, overexcelled until I was exhausted in trying to perform to a perfective level, and I just still never measured up.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: And I remember thinking, gosh, I'm never gonna be good enough, you know.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: And and again, of course, the stupid thought, I think, I think probably everyone tells themself at some time or another that they feel stupid.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I I know I have many times said that thought over myself so many times, but also I thought to myself as I was, you know, going into starting this podcast about crushing strongholds and realizing that it had so much power over me.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: That's why I love 2 Timothy 1.7, because God did not give us that spirit, like you said, that is not from God.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: And and we didn't give it to ourselves.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: We didn't go, you know, I'm just gonna give myself this gift of fear.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: You know, we don't do that.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: Like here, I'm just gonna give gift myself this because, you know, but he gave us the power and love and a sound mind.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: And so I can be at peace with knowing just that, and everything else is kind of just kind of like it.
- 50:37SPEAKER_01: I feel like it just turns into like fairy dust or whatever.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: And I love when you think, when you talk about the thoughts, you know, going around.
- 50:43SPEAKER_01: I I always envision it, envision it when I actually teach because I'm I coach, is that when you're taking your thoughts, like they're all scattered and they're running around and they're and you're you're like trying to get a grip of your thoughts that are just taken captive.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: I think about the butterfly net, like grabbing that net and just like nope, not today.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: I caught you, you know, I got you and I've swooped you up, and now I'm gonna, you know, you know, take care, take you where I want you to be.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: You're not gonna, you know.
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: And um, so I love that you gave that illustration because I I kind of think like that as well.
- 51:13SPEAKER_01: And it's so powerful when we start um giving affirmations over ourselves.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: We speak affirmations instead of I used to put affirmations all over my house.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: It and it took me doing this because I used to talk so negatively to myself, like you did.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: Um, you're stupid, you're dumb, you're ugly, you're fat, um, you're never gonna measure up, you're never gonna figure things out, you're never gonna, you're never, never that never word, you know, it's like a never run-on sentence, you know.
- 51:40SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no, I'm gonna take the word never out and I'm gonna put a new word in.
- 51:45SPEAKER_01: And so it's kind of funny how you you took the thought out and put God's word in.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: You know, I would take the word out and put a new word in, kind of like a replacement system um to the thinking process because we do that.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: And we need that renewing.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: That's how we renew the mind with the words, because it, you know, it says, um, what is it?
- 52:05SPEAKER_01: I think it's in uh Proverbs.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I think is it Proverbs I was just looking at?
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: Um I thought it was Proverbs, I was thinking of.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, I lost my train of thought.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: Okay, I it went somewhere else.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: Anyway, I was thinking it was in Proverbs, which I love the book of Proverbs because there's so much wisdom in the book of Proverbs.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: I always encourage people if you want to learn wisdom, go read the book of Proverbs.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: So there's a lot of wisdom in that book.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Um but as we're thinking about our own thought process, we get we get um, you know, sometimes consumed by it.
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: And it's hard to compartmentalize what we keep and what we throw away.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: Kind of like when you purge, when you purge your house or you purge your refrigerator if you're a binge eater.
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: I I've had overweight issues my whole entire life.
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: I've had a gastric bypass.
- 52:53SPEAKER_01: I was raised um by we either had food or we didn't have food.
- 52:57SPEAKER_01: When we had food, we ate it all up at once, and then we didn't have any food, you know, because we had that, you know, um, you know, that starvation period, you know, that we'd go through.
- 53:07SPEAKER_01: And um with the way we way I was raised with my mom.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: But anyhow, um it's you know like the fight or flight situation where you just you you know you just do it out of fear and you just eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, and then you're feeling your emotions, or you eat out of boredom or you eat out of whatever it is that you're doing, and you're not taking that that thought and you're not compartmentalizing it where it needs to be.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: And I think there's needs to be a recycle bin and a trash bin.
- 53:30SPEAKER_01: You go put it in the trash bin and then you should empty it and you know, the recycle bin immediately instead of holding on to it and letting it stay full.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: Because sometimes I don't I don't know about you, but I can go to my computer and to my recycle bin and it'll question you.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: Are you sure?
- 53:45SPEAKER_01: Are you sure you want to get rid of this?
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I put it in there because I I put it in the trash.
- 53:51SPEAKER_01: And the enemy's like, but are you sure?
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: Are you sure your fault a long time?
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, you know what?
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: Just immediately, I learned you immediately empty the recycle bin.
- 54:02SPEAKER_01: You don't you don't put it in the trash and save it for later.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: Because that stuff gets stinky and smelly and nasty, and that's what we look like when we hold on to our trash.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: That's what it does to our body, our well-being, our physical, our even our physical appearance when we hold on to all that garbage.
- 54:15SPEAKER_01: And if we don't release it, I always say, you know, for years I was a garbage truck driving around, you know, like I carried so much stuff in the back end, you know.
- 54:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh man, I need to go take this to the dump and get rid of it because I harbored so much stuff in my life.
- 54:29SPEAKER_01: And so I love when we talk about renewing the mind.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: I love that illustration that you just gave.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: Um, now I'm gonna be doing that for, you know, walking around the house going, oh, I cast you down.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: My daughter's getting like, what are you doing?
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm casting down these thoughts.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: They need to go away.
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: And because I do stuff like that anyway in my house, they already think I'm weird, probably, but that's okay.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 54:50SPEAKER_01: It works.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Jesus made us to be different, so that that works.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: But anyhow, I don't want to ramble, but I want you to go ahead and tell us our the next um demonstration, the the really quick for the diet engine.
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:03SPEAKER_00: Yes, this is so good.
- 55:05SPEAKER_00: This is a bilateral brain stimulation technique, and it cuts cravings in uh 10 to 15 seconds.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: I call it make the shift.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: And we use this in our W3 sisterhood.
- 55:16SPEAKER_00: This is a ministry that I have called Weight Loss Without Willpower.
- 55:21SPEAKER_00: That's what W3 stands for, because it's not by might nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts, Zechariah 4.6.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: And we have had people who have lost tremendous amounts of weight.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: We like to say, don't diet, live it.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: We don't diet, we live it.
- 55:37SPEAKER_00: Because I've been on, you know, my first diet was when I was 11 years old, you know, so I've been on them and I gained three pounds.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: It was a uh you buy this uh candy, this diet candy, and I ate it in two sittings and gained three pounds.
- 55:50SPEAKER_00: And so that was my that was my first experience and went on for decades.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: But I'm thinking of like Jessica Minter in Oklahoma City, who has um let go of, you know, totally released 70 pounds uh young mom, and uh it's been gone for three years now.
- 56:07SPEAKER_00: She said, I never thought of inviting God in on my weight loss journey.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: Or Jen Schumar, who is um owner of a pizza restaurant in Pittsburgh, New York, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- 56:19SPEAKER_00: Whoever heard of someone being able to lose 65 pounds owning a pizza shelf, but it's been off for about three years as well.
- 56:26SPEAKER_00: She's a grandma.
- 56:27SPEAKER_00: And it's about losing the weight, getting rid of the weight on the inside first, the reasons why we go to the comfort food instead of to the comforter.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: That's what we look at.
- 56:38SPEAKER_00: We look at those reasons because if it's just a diet, when the diet's over, we're going to go back to the same reasons we were using food.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: Food cannot, you see, I didn't have an overeating problem.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: I didn't have a food problem.
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: I had an underfeeling problem.
- 56:53SPEAKER_00: I refused to those I kept numbing myself, numbing myself.
- 56:57SPEAKER_00: So when we find different tools that we can use in weight loss without willpower, in fact, I have a free gift for our listeners.
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: It's called Christianweightloskit.com.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: And at ChristianweightLossKit.com, it's totally free.
- 57:11SPEAKER_00: It's my faith-fueled weight loss blueprint with a little guide and a video that has this exercise in it and some other things that will bless you.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: Um, you can learn more about that.
- 57:23SPEAKER_00: And also, by the way, if you want to know how to meditate on the word of God, I have Christian Meditation Kit.com that is also totally free and shows you how to meditate the Word of God in a moment, in three simple steps, Christian MeditationKit.com.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, let's go ahead with this bilateral brain stimulation technique that will cut cravings in 10 to 15 seconds.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: I want you to have a pen, a key, a stone, something small you can hold in your hand.
- 57:50SPEAKER_00: Now think of your favorite craving food.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: You know the one that I mean, the one that you go to whenever you're bored, angry, sad, or want to be distracted.
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: You're not hungry, you just want to put something in your mouth.
- 58:03SPEAKER_00: For me, I'm about to like start on a project, and all of a sudden, I think I want a snack, you know, and I'm off and it's like, wait a second, no, I'm not even hungry.
- 58:11SPEAKER_00: I have to remind myself, we don't do that to uh for entertainment, you know, it's it's because we're bored or whatever.
- 58:19SPEAKER_00: So you know what that food is.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: It's in the cupboard, it's in the pantry, it's in the freezer or the refrigerator, you know where it is.
- 58:24SPEAKER_00: Use your sanctified imagination, see yourself going there.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: Don't worry, you're gonna cut the craving.
- 58:30SPEAKER_00: We're gonna cut the circuit in just about a moment.
- 58:33SPEAKER_00: You might even start salivating, even thinking about it.
- 58:35SPEAKER_00: That dopamine rush that comes in.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: It's that anticipation.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: That's what's the addiction to it.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: That's what the food manufacturers know.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: That's why they add those excitotoxins because they have an effect on our brain that makes it addictive.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: It's the anticipation of it, not the eating of it, but the anticipation.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: So I want to see yourself, see yourself reaching for that.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: You could have your eyes open or closed again.
- 58:59SPEAKER_00: Do not do this if you are driving.
- 59:01SPEAKER_00: All right, wait till you get home and come back to this, and then you can do it.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: But you're reaching for it, and now with the pen or whatever it is in your hand, bring it from one hand to the other, one hand to the other.
- 59:13SPEAKER_00: Five, four, three, two, one.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: And now repeat after me, please.
- 59:19SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me.
- 59:21SPEAKER_01: All things are lawful for me.
- 59:23SPEAKER_00: But not all things are helpful.
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: But not all things are helpful.
- 59:26SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me.
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: But I will not be brought under the power of any.
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: But I will not be brought to the power of any.
- 59:38SPEAKER_00: First Corinthians 6 12.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: First Corinthians 6 12.
- 59:42SPEAKER_00: Where's the craving, Mickey?
- 59:43SPEAKER_01: Where's the cra?
- 59:45SPEAKER_01: It's gone.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: It's gone.
- 59:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not thinking about it.
- 59:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've been reaching for a snack.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: You know, my husband is one of those people that could have like one MM and then put everything, you know, put it away.
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: It's just like, ah, you know, I can't even, you know, but he'll have his little treats on top of the refrigerator.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_00: And this little four-year-old child in the end said, I just want it.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_00: I just want to eat some.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: And um, it's I didn't plan for it this day.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: You know, I didn't, I'm just like, and then I just sense the Holy Spirit saying, say your boundary scripture.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: That's what it's called.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: Just putting a good, healthy boundary, you know.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_00: Say your and it's like, okay, you have to say it out loud.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_00: You can't just think it.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, all things are lawful for me.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: I'm reaching for it, right?
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful, all things are lawful for me, and then it kicks in.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: Glory to God.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: That was the fullness I was looking for.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: All of a sudden, I'm filled with all the fullness of God on the inside, and that's what I really wanted and needed right at that moment.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: Man, that's amazing.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: And it's, you know, you you touched base on that.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: And it what's cool about that is sometimes I think that we um we forget the simplicity of God.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: Because as human beings in our human nature, we're the ones that complicate everything.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_01: We're so complicated, but in the supernatural realm of God, who God is, it's so simple to Him.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_01: You know, if we just get full of God, then we don't need to eat, you know, five cheeseburgers and four tacos and a bag of cheese or, you know, and um it it it it is fulfilling.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_01: And even when you fast, so like like if you do like a three-day fast, there's a lot of fasting that goes on in the Bible.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_01: And and you know, for purification reasons to detox your body, to, you know, um destroy the flesh, basically, you know, to get to be submissive to God, you know, in that area.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: A lot of people fast for a lot of different reasons, but when you do it for like three days, it takes three days to get your body in submission to what you're actually doing.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_01: Like you, like you said, the three steps.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_01: It's almost like the three-day fast.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: You have to get that body into submission with your mind, body, and soul to be in your spiritual realm to where you can actually operate in the spiritual realm that God has for you and have that fullness.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: And I love that because sometimes we don't get, we don't go and grab the Bible and get full of that.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_01: We go and grab it, you know, we go to the fridge or or we there's other things.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: We drink, we smoke, we, you know, um have bad relationships.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_01: We we do all kinds of things that we run to instead of running to the father.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: And um, I feel like we get detoured so easily because of our fleshly beings and who we are in the physical realm of things.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: And that's why the renewing of the mind is so vital and important.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: And I love that you operate in that realm because not everybody understands it.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: They they just go, that's kind of confusing.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_01: There's nothing confusing about it.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: God doesn't confuse us, the enemy does.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: You know, we confuse ourselves, we complicate it, the enemy complicates it.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: God is really simple.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: He's given us everything we need.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: There's nothing that that he has not given us that we don't need.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_01: We have everything.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_01: And sometimes we just have to go to the source, and the source is the word of God and the truth.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_01: And just knowing that, you know, there's so much power in all of that.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_01: And um, so gosh, I'm so excited.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_01: I've had such a great time.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I want this to go on for hours and hours and hours and hours.
