Transcript
- 0:00Hello, there. It's time for most things
- 0:04Kenobi. Hi everyone, welcome to another
- 0:20episode of most things Kenobi. A podcast about Obi-Wan Kenobi
- 0:23in all things Star Wars. I'm your host Leanne and I'm
- 0:26your host Lauren and this week, oh, my another top five.
- 0:32This one's sad, top, 5 of pain, top 5 of emotion, top, 5 of
- 0:38feelings. I get really sad.
- 0:41Making this list me too. Me, too.
- 0:43I, I actually hate this list because it's so, So good, but
- 0:49it's like, one of those things were like, they did these scenes
- 0:52so beautifully, that they literally move us every single
- 0:56time we watch and it sucks. It does.
- 0:58This is our top five crying moments.
- 1:01In the clone wars. In the Clone Wars, we're going
- 1:03to go through each basically installment, or Trilogy or media
- 1:08source of Star Wars, and do our top five like highly emotional
- 1:12moments. But we start with Clone Wars
- 1:15because that's what we love. Ya, and it has so many.
- 1:18Any, I'm guaranteeing, we have the same list.
- 1:21I think we're going to be pretty close.
- 1:22I'm sure we have overlap. I'm just, I'm sure we do.
- 1:25Yeah. And there's like, we talked
- 1:27about before we started recording.
- 1:28Is there really an order in how we rank these quote-unquote?
- 1:33My criteria was only that this makes me cry every time,
- 1:38correct. Same same as me, I couldn't
- 1:40order them. I was trying to and I just
- 1:42couldn't so there. These are just in my order of
- 1:44like what came to me as I was making this list but Can't say
- 1:49which is the most painful Earth, at least painful?
- 1:52Because they're all yeah, painful.
- 1:54Yeah. It would be unfair to say that
- 1:55one is more painful than the other, because they're all
- 1:57terrible. But I went kind of backwards, I
- 2:01started with number one because I'm very secure in my number
- 2:04one, very scared. My number two, and number three
- 2:08could be interchanged, and four and five are just horrific, and
- 2:10I don't even want to talk about them.
- 2:11So I literally like I went backwards in like security, If
- 2:18that makes any sense at all. Yes, I went back to words.
- 2:22I went backwards through the seasons.
- 2:25Oh excellent. I knew season seven fucking
- 2:29killed me. So I just started there and work
- 2:31my way back. Okay, well, perhaps you should
- 2:35go first and then I'll just tell you if I if it's on my list
- 2:40because season sevens on my list, it's number two,
- 2:43seriously. It's like the whole fucking the
- 2:46whole fucking season at least the Asks, Ark was just
- 2:50excruciating. Correct.
- 2:51The first, the first thing I have on here is season 7 episode
- 2:55shattered, and it's the order 66 stuff between Rex and Ahsoka,
- 3:00yes, terrible. But beautiful every time I say
- 3:03terrible, I mean beautiful in that again fall.
- 3:06Okay, yeah. So terrible means perfectly
- 3:09done. Yes, it's terrible to the
- 3:13emotional Strife. Yes, deeply painful, and moving,
- 3:16and beautiful. And Very good will good with the
- 3:19bad that sequence because you hear, like, a Sokka and mall are
- 3:23hearing what's happening through the universe and it's awful and
- 3:29then she goes in to see Rex and Rex.
- 3:31Yeah, it drops his helmet and he's shaking and he turns your
- 3:36teeth and tears in his eyes, he doesn't want to do it.
- 3:39It's like we all kind of wondered after we saw the Clone
- 3:42Wars knowing what happened with the order 66 like what was going
- 3:45on, and they finally filled in the gaps with season.
- 3:48Especially this moment with these two brand-new quote,
- 3:51unquote, characters of Ahsoka, and Rex that we've come to love
- 3:54so much, right? And now we see what happened on
- 3:58their side of Order 66, and it's just heartbreaking.
- 4:03Yeah, just Rex's reaction alone. And poor Ahsoka was confused at
- 4:07first and questioning them in. Like what's, you know?
- 4:10And he's like, I can't do it or, you know them.
- 4:13Yeah, the look in his eyes and the strain and his voice it.
- 4:17So, So so well done. And is trying to like save her
- 4:22while he's resistant. Like while he's trying to kill
- 4:25her at the same time because he's telling her to look up
- 4:27fives. Like find fives is in for, as he
- 4:30is like pulling the trigger to shoot her.
- 4:32Oh, my God, it's it's so hard to to watch that.
- 4:36I mean up until this moment will say, we've only had glimpses of
- 4:41clones following the order, right, right.
- 4:45And it seemed easy for them. The ones that we saw in Revenge,
- 4:48Seth I should say and then we get to know the Clones very well
- 4:51through clone wars and then we get to the end where we actually
- 4:54have an emotional connection too many of them.
- 4:57And we see basically for the first time how difficult it was
- 5:01for the ones who were really loyal and they just couldn't
- 5:05help the thing that was installed in them.
- 5:07It was it's terrible to watch. It really is it again beautiful.
- 5:12When it must give us like a like a fraction of the sense of what
- 5:15the Jedi were feeling. Oh God.
- 5:18God because like we all love the Clones, you could all of the
- 5:21Clones and you have loyalty to the clones and you feel like
- 5:24they have loyalty to you and then they turn on you and try to
- 5:27kill you. I just like as an audience
- 5:29member, it was hard. So imagine what the Jedi must
- 5:32have been feeling, which is funny because they're not real
- 5:35and this is a story but still, right?
- 5:38This is pretend land. This is pretend world and we
- 5:40live in it at least for 40 minutes once a week.
- 5:43You, and I, yeah, exactly. At least.
- 5:47Yeah. At least for season seven.
- 5:51I just have the final shot. Basically, the dichotomy of
- 5:54Ahsoka standing there, looking at the helmets.
- 5:56Yeah that's on my list and then Vader standing there holding her
- 6:00lightsabers like or her lightsaber or whatever the music
- 6:04in that sequence. Literally I'm getting Goose
- 6:07Bumps thinking about it not the music and the whole end of
- 6:10season 7 is incredible but that stuff is like haunting and it's
- 6:15very it's like so Be sorrowful and like it just literally the
- 6:20thought of it gives me goosebumps because it's so good.
- 6:23I'm going to bring up music in a lot of these because yes, some
- 6:26of the things I remember from these scenes, are the music at
- 6:29the moments where it's happening.
- 6:30There's there's very little talking in a lot of these
- 6:33scenes. It's all what, we're witnessing
- 6:36plus, the music and the emotion behind it.
- 6:38So it's true. Kevin kiner is fucking amazing
- 6:42to the point where I have a playlist of Clone Wars music and
- 6:46I can't listen to it because it makes me sad.
- 6:48I'm the same. I'm the same.
- 6:49There are a few pieces that I can listen to.
- 6:52But for the most part when it comes on, it's like I'm gonna
- 6:55cry. Yeah.
- 6:57Because it's so good. It's just, it brings those
- 7:00emotions. Right back the minute, you hear
- 7:02the music, which we saw when we were at Comic-Con, they played
- 7:06music for everybody. Kevin kiner was there at the
- 7:09Clone Wars panel and they played some of the music and the
- 7:11audience was just like sobbing. Yeah, because we all know what
- 7:14that scene is, you know, very intense, very Very intense with
- 7:19music. Yes, that whole sequence with
- 7:22Ahsoka and Rec standing in front of this Mass grave.
- 7:25Yeah. All the helmets lined up and she
- 7:29looks at her lightsaber and drops it into the snow and then
- 7:32Vader picks it up and then the more I or whatever that bird
- 7:35goes by overhead while he's standing there.
- 7:38Oh my God. It's so awful giving me
- 7:40goosebumps just talking about it.
- 7:42I know it was a beautifully woven end for the entire series.
- 7:46I was really, really happy with But oh yeah, very moving.
- 7:50That's my number two actually. Yeah, that's my my two and three
- 7:54are like you. They're kind of like
- 7:55interchangeable the thing that I kind of had forgotten.
- 7:59It's like if Vader Vader comes and sees.
- 8:02Like there's a there's helmets there and then he finds her
- 8:05lightsaber. He must know that Ahsoka
- 8:07survived. Someone did someone did.
- 8:10Yeah. But since her lightsaber sitting
- 8:12right there, you would assume, but like, like you said,
- 8:15somebody survive this wreckage obviously.
- 8:18It's kind of interesting. I wonder what he thought.
- 8:20It's true. I'll clone following orders.
- 8:23Wouldn't place the helmets in a burial scene like that.
- 8:27Yeah, right. I don't think it would have to
- 8:30be someone separated. You would think?
- 8:32I don't know. That's a, that's a great
- 8:33question. It just makes me wish.
- 8:35We would have had some mentioning of Ahsoka between
- 8:38Obi-Wan and Vader in the Kenobi Series.
- 8:40Yeah, like solidify. I mean, we eventually get that
- 8:44in Rebels, but it could have been the bridge to, you know.
- 8:48What we witness and Rebels, because at this point, I'm
- 8:51assuming I'll be one doesn't know Ahsoka, even survived.
- 8:54Yeah. Me.
- 8:54Neither my other one that like is tied into.
- 8:57This is the same episode, but it's the scene where Ahsoka and
- 9:01recs are standing. I don't know if it's the bridge
- 9:03or wherever they're standing like, looking down at the hangar
- 9:07Bay, and they realized that like there's no way out basically for
- 9:12them. And Rex is kind of trying to
- 9:15explain do Sokka. I like, it's you or them.
- 9:17And she says like they may be willing to die but I am not the
- 9:21one who's going to kill them and like she takes Rex's helmet off
- 9:24of him crying. Oh God, that's a good one too.
- 9:29That scene is so hard to watch. And again it's like when you
- 9:33think of them from season one now compared to where they are
- 9:37here. Yeah.
- 9:39Oh God. You just hope that they like
- 9:41stay connected for the rest of their lives because they've been
- 9:44through so much together. Yeah, it's those.
- 9:48To from beginning to end. I'd like to thank.
- 9:50What is your third? One Satine dying.
- 9:54Yeah. Where is that on your list?
- 9:57That's my next one. Okay, good timing.
- 10:03I can't watch that episode because I cry really hard.
- 10:07Every time. What more is there to say?
- 10:09I mean it's the horrific nests of the act itself of mall,
- 10:13killing murdering Satine. That's one thing.
- 10:16But it's the focus. Of the pain in Obi-Wan's eyes,
- 10:20right? And the hand-holding.
- 10:23And the way he's holding her limp body and the fact that mall
- 10:26is just their gloating all over all of it and the music.
- 10:30Again, the music is so painfully, beautiful during
- 10:33this, not that they needed it to add to the, to evoke emotion,
- 10:37but it's there anyway. I know that scene like slowly
- 10:42devolves, like you can watch ob1 realize that this is way like he
- 10:47is So out of control of the situation.
- 10:50Yeah, that there's like nothing, he's going to be able to do to
- 10:53stop it because to stop. It would require him to do
- 10:56something. That is against who he is as a
- 10:59person. So it's just like it creates
- 11:01this Dynamic. That's so extra painful, because
- 11:05Satine, wouldn't want him to give up, who he is to save her.
- 11:09So, she just dies at least, she does knowing that Obi-Wan, like
- 11:12stayed true to himself because, of course, the last thing she
- 11:15would want is for him to, like, give up his Honor to protect her
- 11:18because she's all about honor and pacifism and all that stuff.
- 11:23Yes, yes, yes. I mean you can feel it building.
- 11:26Hmm. You know it's coming.
- 11:28That's why I think it's so effective.
- 11:30It really is it just? You just know the first time I
- 11:34ever saw it. I said there's no there's no
- 11:36getting out of this. How is this going to play out?
- 11:38When I think that's the other thing that makes it so painful
- 11:41as they give you that false Escape.
- 11:43Yeah, there were so close to getting out of there basically
- 11:46here in the ship. Taking off.
- 11:48There were there. It was just, I hate this whole
- 11:51episode again, Beautiful episode.
- 11:53But goddamn, they were so close. It's so painful and then and
- 11:58then on top of it, Obi-Wan has to basically shelve his emotions
- 12:03and go out and fight. Yep.
- 12:04Which how many times have we seen him?
- 12:06Do we've talked about it a million times on this show.
- 12:09God, he is something else. It's the first time you see
- 12:13granted. In my opinion it was very this
- 12:15episode of super rushed and Like, he snaps back into being a
- 12:19Jedi too fast for my comfort. I get it there, like, I
- 12:22understand why they did it the way they did it but it's still
- 12:25even. So the first time you see him
- 12:27like he's so depressed. His just like kneeling on that
- 12:30transport like and they like punch him to get him moving and
- 12:33he like doesn't even react. It's like he doesn't care what's
- 12:38happening to him right in that moment until Boca tan shows up
- 12:41in like rescues him. But one of the few times, at
- 12:44least in Clone Wars, you see that?
- 12:46Yeah, that episode just fucking Tells me every time you watch
- 12:49that episode you text me and say I can't get through this episode
- 12:51without crying. I'll be like I'll just watch it
- 12:54while I'm eating dinner real quick.
- 12:55I just need to 20 minutes and then I'm like sitting there
- 12:57sobbing into my plate every time.
- 13:01I'm not kidding. She texts me and tells me this
- 13:04very thing through. I'm sorry.
- 13:06Why do we keep going back? Well, because it's a beautiful
- 13:09show with beautiful writing, beautiful storytelling,
- 13:11beautiful imagery. But damn, like always kind of
- 13:14hope they're going to get away. Yeah, that's The other thing
- 13:18like maybe they'll make it out this time they never do, they
- 13:22never do. It's so sad.
- 13:24I know I did a cinematography study of this on my blog a while
- 13:28back. Yes the cinematography and this
- 13:30episode is so good, but especially that sequence because
- 13:33they keep cutting back between Satine and Obi-Wan and they have
- 13:37like the exact same Expressions on their faces.
- 13:41So you can see that they're like having the same experience and
- 13:44they both realize that the same time that there's no Out of
- 13:48this. How do they?
- 13:50It's amazing that again, we're talking about an animated show.
- 13:53Yeah, I know. I mean, there's a subtlety in a
- 13:56human face, right? That you can communicate emotion
- 13:59through but this is animation and they still manage to do it.
- 14:02Yeah. Flawlessly.
- 14:03Like when she touches his cheek and his eyes, like soften, I
- 14:07just like can't fucking handle it.
- 14:10I just realized good that I said flawlessly, which is you can't
- 14:15say Flawless without Lawless. Oh, the Flawless episode, a new
- 14:23episode episode about Obi-Wan is called the Flawless.
- 14:28This is true. Yeah.
- 14:29And they made him so dashingly, handsome, an entire episode.
- 14:33The man do armor. Yeah.
- 14:35So not only are you walking around the who's walking around
- 14:39there watching this episode. No, no one.
- 14:40But not only are you sitting there experiencing feelings of
- 14:45being turned on you then are Yanked away from you.
- 14:50Yes, brutal it's fucking brutally.
- 14:53Thanks Mall. Yep, that was mine mine as well.
- 14:58So we had the same one there. The next one.
- 15:03I hate this, the Zillo Beast. That I don't even want to talk
- 15:09about it. I can't handle.
- 15:12I avoid that entire Arc. I do too because it's so
- 15:15terrible. I hate animals.
- 15:17In pain, hate it same. Same even animated ones.
- 15:22It's see, I'm getting like the puke.
- 15:24The dry heat feeling. Yeah.
- 15:26So I'm treading with caution and if my mother's listening, you
- 15:30could probably just skip ahead, five minutes.
- 15:32Yeah, but like, I can't watch that.
- 15:35I watched it one time and I skipped through half of so I
- 15:39like haven't even seen the entire the entire thing.
- 15:42It's not, it's not worth it snap know if you if you love animals
- 15:47Like, I don't care if it's a dangerous to humans like you're
- 15:51the ones who took it off of its own planet.
- 15:54Yes, yes, it is. It is the zoo complex.
- 15:58It's why I don't visit zoos. I don't visit SeaWorld.
- 16:00I don't visit, I don't do that and then it's fine if you do.
- 16:04But for me personally, I can't. Yeah, it's one thing if like
- 16:07they've rescued an animal from the real if the rehabbing van.
- 16:11Yeah. But like when some animal is
- 16:14taken from the wild to be put in a cage, Asian display.
- 16:18I can't hand. I don't want to talk about it.
- 16:20Yeah, so we're just going to, we're just going to say Zillo,
- 16:23Beast, and keep it pushing. Yeah, because I agree with that
- 16:26100%. That's too much for me.
- 16:28I think if anyone's watch the Clone Wars and knows the Zillo
- 16:31Beast, we don't have to talk about.
- 16:32We don't have to reiterate. Why is this one is sad painful.
- 16:35Yeah, awful Etc. Even if an animal is dangerous,
- 16:39like it's so innocent, like animals aren't premeditated the
- 16:42way humans are, you know, they just do their instance, fucking
- 16:46around? Yes, Shit.
- 16:48Stop it. Yeah, stop.
- 16:50It totally agree. Okay, I'll get off my platform.
- 16:58So another one that I just have to add to this list and I think
- 17:01you'll agree is 99 dying. I literally just got goosebumps.
- 17:05That is one of the most upsetting moments in all, of
- 17:08course it is. So I feel so strongly in my love
- 17:15for 99, as As I think everyone does.
- 17:19Yeah, he can do no wrong. He is lovely.
- 17:21He did not die in vain. I love that they added him to
- 17:26the complex of clones. Yeah.
- 17:29Because I really, really loved the respect that the other
- 17:32clones had for him. Yeah, he was so innocent and
- 17:35naive which makes me want to cry talking about it the respect I
- 17:38mean the honor that he gained from them in his passing just
- 17:43the innocent do good. Golden Heart.
- 17:46Yes. Dad.
- 17:47God, I know this is a really difficult list.
- 17:52I think you, and I watch that episode together when we were
- 17:55hanging out last, sure did. And we were both just like, fuck
- 18:00past the wise at their past, the one it was.
- 18:06I was glad you were there with me yesterday.
- 18:08Emotional support, buddy. Yeah.
- 18:11Cause you need it for some of these.
- 18:13A lot of these, a lot of these. Yeah, like the again.
- 18:17He's Like running. He's like I'm like you I and
- 18:20then he gets shot and the music and the slow motion.
- 18:23It's like something out of a what is it, like full metal
- 18:26jacket or something like that? One of those old Vietnam war
- 18:28movies were just like for god, sakes my heart can't take it.
- 18:34He just wanted to help. I know, and he did.
- 18:37He just wanted to be one of his brothers.
- 18:39Yeah. And I think he was, they
- 18:41considered him a brother. They, they also didn't, they're
- 18:44a little protective of them are like, you know, don't you don't
- 18:47need to get in it. Like the rest of us are.
- 18:48Yeah, but he wanted to, yeah, yeah, it may have come across
- 18:52the wrong way, but I think it was well intended.
- 18:54I mean the Clones are Dee Bradley Baker is the voice of
- 18:59all of these individuals. Let's remind everybody.
- 19:01It's one man. Know who's bringing emotion to
- 19:04all these separate? Clones, what a genius actor.
- 19:07But, man, I don't know. It's just and it was another
- 19:11instance where I thought maybe he was going to make it.
- 19:14I know, I know and it's the same again.
- 19:16Every time you watch it you kind of like hope.
- 19:19Yeah yeah I love and respect 99 so much.
- 19:23Yeah yeah I think he taught everyone a lesson including
- 19:27Watch that episode which is why 99 lives on forever.
- 19:32Okay. So we're down to the last one.
- 19:34I'm dying to know what yours is because neither of us have
- 19:37mentioned it yet. I bet it's the same one.
- 19:40Maybe I would. I would bet some money that we
- 19:42have the same one that it's the wrong.
- 19:43Jedi. Yes.
- 19:45Yeah, Ahsoka leaving. Yeah.
- 19:47In other words. Yep, that's my number.
- 19:50Oh, space. Twin moment yet again.
- 19:53Well, I mean, who can argue with this one?
- 19:55This is terrible. It It is again you'd I was doing
- 19:58dishes at my sink with my laptop, propped up the first
- 20:02time I watched this and wow, I had to like stand there with wet
- 20:07hands just like crying uncontrollably.
- 20:11The first time I watched it was not what I expected.
- 20:14I really didn't. I don't know why I didn't think
- 20:17that was how the episode was going to end because now
- 20:19re-watching it you see like how could she go back though there
- 20:23was no way to know what the saddest part of all.
- 20:25Yeah. Uh.
- 20:27Again, the music. Yeah, the music here is key,
- 20:31because her and Anakin exchange, a look, that speaks volume
- 20:36right. There are so many unspoken words
- 20:39between them when she hands him. Her Padawan chain, that they've
- 20:43understood each other this entire time, their wants their
- 20:46needs. Yeah.
- 20:46They've never been allowed to speak it out loud.
- 20:49And even then in the very end they were so close to admitting
- 20:52to each other, you know, the things that they knew whether it
- 20:55was Padme or the The Fault in the Jedi Order or the council,
- 21:00or the Republic and this entire War, it was all subtle and not
- 21:06even spoken, not once, but they understood each other and the
- 21:09music somehow conveys this, this like regret bridge between them
- 21:14and this, understanding that shit is not what we thought it
- 21:17was and there's literally nothing we can do about it.
- 21:21And it's such a mature moment for her to realize that she has
- 21:24to really figure this out on her own without anybody else's.
- 21:27Influence or trying to influence our thoughts or her behavior.
- 21:31That's really a growth moment. But of course, she's been forced
- 21:34into that as well. Like absolute, this whole
- 21:37experience to think that they would even suspect her after
- 21:41everything. She's done for the order, all
- 21:43the cheese sacrificed obviously Anakin never doubted her.
- 21:47Hmm. It even made her doubt herself.
- 21:50She's she's too good for the Jedi.
- 21:52Honestly, she is. Yeah, and the moment where
- 21:56Anakin Hence, beerus and like the and he thinks like okay,
- 22:00everything's fixed. Yeah, prove to them and then he
- 22:04still loses her. Yeah.
- 22:06It's it's really terrible. Well and she she's like one of
- 22:12the only people anywhere who really understands Anakin like I
- 22:17would say more so than 0, b 1, maybe more, so than Padme
- 22:21because she sees a side of Anakin that he doesn't really
- 22:24showed anybody else when he kind of like Red's that line of like,
- 22:28hey, that's kind of not Jedi Behavior, so that's like, ee
- 22:31heartbreaking for Anakin to lose somebody who understands him.
- 22:34Because he's one of those people who you can tell, like, kind of
- 22:37needs someone out there, someone external to like understand who
- 22:41he is and what he needs. And he just doesn't have that no
- 22:44one it's and he takes it as a failure moment.
- 22:46Probably that he wasn't able to finish her training or see her
- 22:52through to her becoming you know, a night or a whatever the
- 22:56next what is it. Master.
- 22:58I was forget because Anakin never got there himself.
- 23:00I'm sorry, but I know the jokes the means everything.
- 23:04But I'm sure he internalized a lot of it because, you know
- 23:08Anakin yeah. But if I were to put myself in
- 23:10her shoes in a so cashews and I thought of everyone who I
- 23:15trusted through War battles, you know, strategic planning putting
- 23:20your life on the line Etc. All of these people who trusted
- 23:23me and I trusted them to turn their backs.
- 23:26So Easily. Yeah, that I could never go
- 23:29back. She absolutely did the right
- 23:31thing and that's what sucks the most about it is that that's
- 23:34real life right there. Yeah.
- 23:35Because betrayal has no bounds. Yeah. 100% agree.
- 23:41And maybe that even saved her life and think of all the lives
- 23:44that were saved because she was saved.
- 23:46Yeah, because she did not stop doing good.
- 23:48No, even after this all the way, like, her whole life.
- 23:51Yes, yeah. She might have been with Anakin
- 23:54when he turned, which would have put her at risk.
- 23:56In so many ways. So yeah, it's like that's the
- 24:01thing I think that's so extra painful about this episode or
- 24:04this at least this moment is like knowing that it's not what
- 24:07you want. You want her to go back and for
- 24:09everything to just be the way it was and knowing that that's not
- 24:12actually possible. And that the decision she made
- 24:15was actually the right decision. It's one of my favorite scenes
- 24:19because of all this because of the depth, I crave depth in Star
- 24:22Wars. And but it's also beautiful and
- 24:25like the sunset It really is orange coloring.
- 24:29The golden her walking off the long Shadow the look and
- 24:32Anakin's. I it's really really well done
- 24:37and Applause to absolutely everyone on the team that made
- 24:40that one happen because everything was good performance
- 24:43was good and that was one of the only times they use an actual
- 24:47Orchestra for their music. Kevin kiner.
- 24:50I think he said, he flew to Prague and had like the like the
- 24:53check Orchestra perform that piece.
- 24:57And it shows and well it's filoni said that like George
- 25:00Lucas would never let them not end on that Iris, you know, like
- 25:03I ever sing out and like, the music plays.
- 25:05And this is the first time roof that they, they ended, they
- 25:08saved it to this last moment to like stop on an emotional beat
- 25:13with the music. Just gently fading out and that
- 25:15was the last episode for, like, how was yours, right?
- 25:21Yeah, it was one of those moments when I first saw it,
- 25:23like you said, you stood at the sink hands dripping.
- 25:26I sat on my couch and I just like paused it like when the
- 25:30episode ended and I just sat there in silence.
- 25:32Yeah. Like one of those overwhelming
- 25:34silent moments where you're just reviewing in your head.
- 25:37What the fuck did I just see right and you think about it for
- 25:40days afterwards? Yes.
- 25:42You lay awake at night and think God she actually did it.
- 25:46Yeah, poor Anakin. What the fuck is wrong with the
- 25:49order? You know, like your brain.
- 25:51Did you do? Yeah, I'm glad they did.
- 25:56I think it's I think it was it forwarded the story in ways that
- 26:01I mean, obviously Ahsoka could not exist because she doesn't in
- 26:05Revenge of the Sith, right? Right.
- 26:08But they didn't just toss her character, they gave it meaning
- 26:11and it still means something. When they bring her back in live
- 26:15action, now Orton Rebels for instance, so yeah, it was
- 26:18tactfully done and that's all I ever asked if anyone who's
- 26:21putting together something masterful.
- 26:23Yes, attacked. Well, they were so smart to like
- 26:26use it as One more little push on Anakin, you know, push him a
- 26:29little more towards what happens in Revenge of the Sith.
- 26:32It's like everything's been very slowly building through six
- 26:36seasons of Clone Wars to push him further away from the Jedi
- 26:40and just like plant seeds of Doubt.
- 26:42Not just city is doing it but like the order doing it on its
- 26:46own? Yeah that was it was just
- 26:48perfection. God, Star Wars is fucking pain,
- 26:52just pain, it is pain, its pain. I'm depressed now.
- 27:04Our listener question this week is pretty straightforward.
- 27:07I think you could probably guess what it's gonna be.
- 27:09But what moments from Clone Wars make you cry every time you
- 27:14watch it? I'm sure you've got more than
- 27:16one. Oh yeah next week's episode.
- 27:20We are going to have fun talking about droids.
- 27:22We're just going to have a free flow conversation about all of
- 27:25the droids, all of them. Yeah.
- 27:26Yeah. Yes and we need to lighten it
- 27:28up. We do after this episode droids
- 27:33beep bop peeper peeper in last week's episode we chatted about
- 27:39how Leia Organa was like her birth parents.
- 27:42We ran a poll on Instagram asking if people thought she was
- 27:45more like Anakin or Padme and we got a ton of responses.
- 27:50The majority of people said they felt she was more like Anakin
- 27:53but a fair amount argued in favor of Padme.
- 27:56Here's some of Messages, we received Antigone Albright.
- 28:00On Instagram, said, Anakin they both have the SAS and take no
- 28:05shit. MTV a TD Z said Anakin I feel
- 28:09she has his stubbornness but also his passion ever.
- 28:13Apple Goods said she's certainly as Anakin's fire all of that
- 28:17passion and energy Broadway gymnast. 16 said Anakin in the
- 28:21original trilogy, she has his passion to help but also his
- 28:25lack of patience. Padme in the sequel Trilogy.
- 28:28She Embraces padme's leadership and motherly qualities Lily and
- 28:32Dibble 2.0. Said Padme, she wasn't super
- 28:36impulsive and has natural leadership skills.
- 28:38A real girl boss Piccolo. Ramana said more Anakin because
- 28:43she is brave and never stops. If she wants to accomplish
- 28:46something, we always love, hearing your detailed passionate
