Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show.
0:02
Speaker 2: Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
0:05
Speaker 1: Freshly made with Reburger.
0:09
Speaker 2: Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.
0:12
Speaker 3: Really big.
0:13
Speaker 1: With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.
0:17
Speaker 4: Oh, g'day, you mad bastards. Great to have your company
0:19
Speaker 4: this Wednesday afternoon. It is the 23rd of September, 2026.
0:23
Speaker 4: And you, my friends, as always, listening to the big
0:26
Speaker 4: show brought to you by Reburger.
0:28
Speaker 3: Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. Reburger are redefining the norm.
0:35
Speaker 1: Yeah. Bit. Fellas. I don't know.
0:39
Speaker 4: The system didn't work.
0:41
Speaker 1: Oh, God.
0:42
Speaker 3: What the heck?
0:43
Speaker 1: Hey, Mogi Estallion, how's life? Going pretty grousey, you mad dog,
0:48
Speaker 1: you sick son of a B. Have I got some
0:49
Speaker 1: sleep chat for you later on in the show, fellas. Oh,
0:51
Speaker 1: how good. A little tease that I'm doing there. Love it.
0:54
Speaker 1: Spring has sprung, Jason. You can tell that because it's
0:56
Speaker 1: four degrees and blowing a goddamn gale. Yeah, and pissing
0:58
Speaker 1: down at the moment. Didn't we? We had a couple
1:00
Speaker 1: of weeks though there, didn't we? Yeah, we did. Warmed up.
1:04
Speaker 1: We called it a false dawn. It was a false dawn.
1:06
Speaker 1: Here we are freezing again. Keezy, how you going, man?
1:08
Speaker 1: Other than the fact you... Come on, man.
1:12
Speaker 3: It's obviously got a massive delay on it. I'm good, fellas.
1:15
Speaker 1: Just a reminder, we've got a brand new.
1:17
Speaker 3: System that's been installed here. I've never used it before
1:20
Speaker 3: and it just shat itself.
1:21
Speaker 1: You know what springs to mind? A poor workman blames
1:24
Speaker 1: his tools.
1:26
Speaker 5: Yeah.
1:26
Speaker 3: I'm not blaming you guys. I'm good fellas anyway.
1:31
Speaker 1: Oh, that's good, man.
1:33
Speaker 3: It's good stuff. Jase, how are you going, man?
1:34
Speaker 4: Yeah, good, thanks. You know, getting by.
1:37
Speaker 1: Are you, man? Are you all right?
1:38
Speaker 4: You know, I'm bloody dandy.
1:39
Speaker 1: That's great, man.
1:40
Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Just getting by, getting by.
1:42
Speaker 4: As you do, fellas, on some days.
1:45
Speaker 3: Are you fizzed up for a big Wednesday?
1:48
Speaker 1: I'm always fizzed up for a Wednesday, Keezy.
1:54
Speaker 3: What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
1:58
Speaker 1: Well, we've got an exciting day today, fellas. Later on
2:01
Speaker 1: in the show, we're going to be talking to a... Now,
2:03
Speaker 1: we don't do politics here, as a rule. Yes. And
2:06
Speaker 1: that's been since day dot. If you want politics, you
2:08
Speaker 1: go to some people who actually know about politics. And
2:10
Speaker 1: that's not us.
2:11
Speaker 3: No.
2:12
Speaker 1: However, there's been a party that's come across our table,
2:14
Speaker 1: and we've all been made aware of it separately. Trust
2:18
Speaker 1: New Zealand. They're called some interesting policies, so we're going
2:21
Speaker 1: to be talking to James Harrison after five o'clock some point.
2:25
Speaker 1: Not only that, they're all Keezy. I don't know what
2:28
Speaker 1: the guts is with this, man, but you've got a
2:30
Speaker 1: bone to pick with small international business owners. Is it
2:33
Speaker 1: true that I just have to stick around to find
2:35
Speaker 1: out what that is actually all about?
2:37
Speaker 3: I would advise, Mogi, that you do stick around to
2:39
Speaker 3: find out. When you read it out like that, it
2:42
Speaker 3: does sound like I've got some sort of pretty intense
2:44
Speaker 3: gripe with people. No, it's not that big.
2:46
Speaker 4: Well, I've never seen you so angry when you were
2:49
Speaker 4: telling us about it.
2:50
Speaker 1: You were fuming.
2:52
Speaker 3: Was I?
2:53
Speaker 4: The veins were bulging in your neck while you were
2:56
Speaker 4: talking about it.
2:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, your neck. Also, coming up next, fellas, I need
3:01
Speaker 1: some advice from old Hoity J over there.
3:03
Speaker 4: Sure, man.
3:03
Speaker 1: You've been married for longer than me, man. I just need... Yeah,
3:07
Speaker 1: I just need to pick those big brains of yours. Yeah, sure.
3:10
Speaker 3: No worries, Mogi.
3:11
Speaker 4: In the meantime, here's a bit of bush for you Wednesday.
3:13
Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
3:18
Speaker 4: Oasis there on the Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday afternoon.
3:22
Speaker 4: The time is 14 minutes past 4 o'clock.
3:25
Speaker 1: Hoare Jo, I need your advice, man. Sure, man. I
3:27
Speaker 1: had an interaction with my wife this morning that left
3:30
Speaker 1: me absolutely fuming. And let me talk you through it.
3:34
Speaker 1: As I do every morning, I get up at around 3, 4,
3:37
Speaker 1: 5 o'clock, get up, do a little bit of work.
3:39
Speaker 5: Yes.
3:40
Speaker 1: Around about 7 or 8, my wife wakes up. I'll
3:44
Speaker 1: make my– well, actually, that's not true. My daughter will
3:46
Speaker 1: wake up and then jump into bed with my wife.
3:48
Speaker 1: My wife will read my daughter a book, and I'll
3:50
Speaker 1: make coffee for my wife and a piece of toast
3:53
Speaker 1: for my daughter while that happens, right?
3:54
Speaker 3: Yes.
3:54
Speaker 1: Every single day.
3:55
Speaker 3: That's lovely.
3:57
Speaker 1: Now, this morning I made it, went in, took it
3:58
Speaker 1: in there, happy ears, went out, came back in for
4:01
Speaker 1: something or other, and my wife sort of looks at
4:03
Speaker 1: me and she goes, whoa, whoa, strong brew. Oh, yeah.
4:08
Speaker 1: Strong brew. There we go. And I said, oh, is it?
4:13
Speaker 1: Because I'm thinking to myself, same way I make it
4:16
Speaker 1: every day. Yes. Same way I make it every day. Now,
4:18
Speaker 1: I'm not displaying that emotion.
4:20
Speaker 4: No.
4:20
Speaker 1: On the outside, I'm perfectly normal.
4:23
Speaker 5: Wow.
4:25
Speaker 1: I said, oh, would you like me to put some
4:27
Speaker 1: hot water in it? And she says, oh, yes, please.
4:31
Speaker 1: And I say, no worries. And I grab the cup
4:35
Speaker 1: off her and I take it out into the kitchen,
4:38
Speaker 1: put the jug on to put some hot water in,
4:40
Speaker 1: water it down a bit so it's not as strong
4:42
Speaker 1: for her, you know. And the whole time I'm fuming. Yeah.
4:45
Speaker 3: Well, I was going to say that's great. Now you
4:46
Speaker 3: know for next time.
4:47
Speaker 1: Now the thing about it is I do this every
4:52
Speaker 1: morning for her. I know how to make a cup
4:55
Speaker 1: of coffee. Yes. Do you know what I'm saying? Yes,
4:57
Speaker 1: I do. And then immediately after this, I had to leave.
5:01
Speaker 1: And so I've been sort of mulling it over over
5:03
Speaker 1: the course of the day. Now, I don't know how
5:05
Speaker 1: to deal with it. And then I thought, Jase has
5:07
Speaker 1: been through this. Boy, have I.
5:09
Speaker 3: That's right, because you burn the milk, eh?
5:12
Speaker 1: And this is, so what happened with you, Jase? Well,
5:14
Speaker 1: do you want to explain what happened with you?
5:16
Speaker 4: Well, I mean, my wife will claim that I didn't
5:21
Speaker 4: talk to her for two days.
5:23
Speaker 1: Well, that's right. So you burnt the milk. She pulled
5:25
Speaker 1: you up on it, said you've been doing it for years.
5:27
Speaker 1: You were fuming, and she says that your trick to it,
5:31
Speaker 1: your resolution to it, well, not punish, but so she
5:35
Speaker 1: knew how you felt, was you gave her the silent
5:36
Speaker 1: treatment for two days, and I sort of feel like
5:40
Speaker 1: that's what should happen in this situation. But I'm a
5:43
Speaker 1: little bit worried that I'm going to chicken out.
5:45
Speaker 5: Yes.
5:45
Speaker 1: Because what happens, for example, it's easy just sort of
5:48
Speaker 1: milling about the house and You know, you bring a
5:50
Speaker 1: dark cloud in with you wherever you go.
5:52
Speaker 5: Yes.
5:53
Speaker 1: Sort of an easy thing to do. And as an actor,
5:54
Speaker 1: you've sort of got that ability anyway. My concern is
5:58
Speaker 1: if she asks me a question or something, will I crack?
6:01
Speaker 1: Just before you get into this, Mogi, if I may,
6:04
Speaker 1: I think don't take it personally.
6:06
Speaker 3: You know what I mean? She's just been like, hey,
6:09
Speaker 3: I love the way you make coffee and stuff. I
6:10
Speaker 3: love our morning routine, but I actually wouldn't mind just
6:12
Speaker 3: a bit more hot water. I think she's just comfortable
6:14
Speaker 3: enough to tell you, you know, how she actually likes it. Yeah,
6:16
Speaker 3: she didn't say either of those first two things that
6:18
Speaker 3: you just said.
6:19
Speaker 4: Casey, just leave this to me, thanks. Now, look, if
6:24
Speaker 4: you're going to embark on this particular course of action,
6:28
Speaker 4: and I've been married for nigh on 30 years, Maggie.
6:32
Speaker 1: Since you were nine.
6:35
Speaker 4: So I know what I'm talking about. And it is
6:38
Speaker 4: a very– The avenue that you're going to go down
6:42
Speaker 4: is the silent treatment.
6:44
Speaker 1: It's not easy. It's not for the weak.
6:47
Speaker 4: Because there will be occasions where your wife will notice this.
6:51
Speaker 1: Yes.
6:52
Speaker 4: You know what I mean? And as you say, at
6:54
Speaker 4: times she may directly confront you on it. For example,
7:00
Speaker 4: she may say, are you sulking?
7:09
Speaker 1: That's exactly what I'm worried about because that's happened before. Yes.
7:12
Speaker 1: And I've had to say no.
7:13
Speaker 4: That's where you're going to have to break the silent treatment,
7:17
Speaker 4: but only very briefly with a high-pitched no-no and then
7:22
Speaker 4: make your way to another room. Like sometimes she might
7:30
Speaker 4: even say something like, are you not talking to me?
7:36
Speaker 4: That's another one that's a direct kind of.
7:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, that worries me too.
7:42
Speaker 4: And that's when you've got to master the distracted look,
7:45
Speaker 4: preferably be on your phone or something like that, and
7:49
Speaker 4: then just make a noise like, hmm, and then something like, ooh, wheeze.
7:55
Speaker 1: And then head for an exit.
7:56
Speaker 4: And then go straight to the bathroom.
7:58
Speaker 1: Yeah.
8:00
Speaker 4: It's also about, if you're going to do this, take
8:02
Speaker 4: this particular course of action, timings, of course.
8:05
Speaker 1: Right.
8:06
Speaker 4: When is she home?
8:07
Speaker 1: Yes.
8:08
Speaker 4: When is she going to be in the lounge? When
8:10
Speaker 4: will she be in the kitchen? Very complicated.
8:13
Speaker 1: Well, Keith, I've got some more questions around this. We
8:14
Speaker 1: have to come back to the 3483 if you've got
8:16
Speaker 1: any advice as well. Yeah, mate. In the meantime, here's
8:19
Speaker 1: System of a Down.
8:20
Speaker 2: Yeah. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
8:26
Speaker 2: Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
8:29
Speaker 4: Red hot chili peppers there on the Hauraki Big Show
8:33
Speaker 4: this Wednesday afternoon, the time 4.27.
8:36
Speaker 1: So an interesting one today, fellas. You know, this morning
8:39
Speaker 1: I took a coffee in to my wife, as I
8:41
Speaker 1: always do. She indicated that it was too strong. I'd
8:46
Speaker 1: made it too strong for her, despite the fact that's
8:49
Speaker 1: how I make it every day. So I offered to
8:52
Speaker 1: water it down with some boiling water, and since then
8:54
Speaker 1: I've been fuming about it, stewing, and that made me think, well,
8:57
Speaker 1: if anybody knows about this, it's Horty J. Yes. So
8:59
Speaker 1: I've asked your advice on how to apply the silent treatment. Yeah.
9:05
Speaker 1: How do you administer the silent treatment? It is an
9:07
Speaker 1: art form, Mogi. I'll give you that.
9:09
Speaker 3: You're the master of it, aren't you?
9:12
Speaker 4: It is a really tricky route to take.
9:15
Speaker 1: Yeah. Bloody satisfying, though.
9:17
Speaker 3: Well, the best way, for the record, I don't really
9:20
Speaker 3: agree with this method, but the best way to sort
9:22
Speaker 3: of practice something, fellas, is to do an improv.
9:25
Speaker 1: Sure.
9:26
Speaker 3: Quiet on set.
9:27
Speaker 1: Sound speed. Lights.
9:29
Speaker 4: Camera.
9:30
Speaker 1: Action.
9:31
Speaker 4: Now it's time for the Big Show Improvs.
9:36
Speaker 3: So I guess I'll play, because you want to see
9:39
Speaker 3: it in action, right?
9:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll be good. And maybe if there's time, I
9:42
Speaker 1: might have a go as well, just have a crack
9:43
Speaker 1: at it. But if there's not, that's totally fine. But yeah, Keezy,
9:46
Speaker 1: if you can be the wife coming home.
9:48
Speaker 3: So I'm Jase's wife.
9:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, hoi de jai, you've been there just waiting. I've
9:51
Speaker 1: been out of time to have thought of that. Looking
9:54
Speaker 1: forward to this moment. Yes. And now you can sort of,
9:57
Speaker 1: I guess, is there some kind of a, well, you
9:59
Speaker 1: can show me. You hear the key in the door,
10:02
Speaker 1: and do you have to put on the sign? It's
10:03
Speaker 1: a character, or what's the story? I guess we'll see. Yeah. Action.
10:08
Speaker 3: Okay. For the improv, let's just.
10:17
Speaker 1: That's not going to work in this case. Babe. He's
10:19
Speaker 1: not going to open the door. I reckon use your key. Okay, fine.
10:21
Speaker 3: I'll get my key out. Just let me... Babe. Why
10:25
Speaker 3: is this door locked?
10:27
Speaker 1: Okay, fine.
10:28
Speaker 3: I'll unlock it myself.
10:30
Speaker 1: Does your wife talk to herself? She does, actually. Especially
10:34
Speaker 1: when I'm not talking to her.
10:35
Speaker 3: Sorry, are you in character still, man?
10:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Sorry, man. Oh, hey, babe.
10:42
Speaker 4: Jase.
10:42
Speaker 3: Hi, how are you?
10:44
Speaker 1: Sorry. Good, good.
10:46
Speaker 5: Oh.
10:47
Speaker 3: How have you been? How's your day been?
10:48
Speaker 4: Good. Right.
10:51
Speaker 3: You don't want to know how my day's been?
10:54
Speaker 4: Sorry, what?
10:57
Speaker 1: I was just wondering. Oh, wheeze.
11:00
Speaker 3: Oh, you need to go wheeze.
11:01
Speaker 1: Right, okay. Sweet. Right, so that would be the first
11:05
Speaker 1: sort of stage there. That would be, so you've established
11:08
Speaker 1: a sort of, you've got her off centre there, off balance. Yes.
11:11
Speaker 1: And then you've left the room.
11:12
Speaker 3: Yes.
11:12
Speaker 1: That's really good.
11:13
Speaker 4: Can I just reiterate before we get into the next, segment,
11:18
Speaker 4: I spend 25 minutes in the toilet.
11:20
Speaker 3: Okay, you're doing a pug sign.
11:21
Speaker 1: Okay, I get it.
11:22
Speaker 3: Okay, so you finally come back out again. Oh, far out.
11:27
Speaker 3: You took your time in there. Might have to start
11:30
Speaker 3: calling you pug sign. I'm sorry, babe. Is there something...
11:35
Speaker 3: Are you annoyed about something? Have I done something wrong?
11:37
Speaker 1: What's that?
11:38
Speaker 3: Are you annoyed about something?
11:39
Speaker 1: No, no.
11:42
Speaker 3: You're not giving me the silent treatment, are you? Babe, babe,
11:52
Speaker 3: is this, are you seriously, is this still about the
11:55
Speaker 3: coffee this morning?
11:57
Speaker 5: No.
11:59
Speaker 4: It's just work stuff, all right?
12:01
Speaker 3: Work stuff, but you do F all.
12:05
Speaker 1: Sorry, I've got to deal with this.
12:06
Speaker 3: Okay, sorry.
12:08
Speaker 1: Nice, and so that's another exit. Exit.
12:11
Speaker 3: Where did you go that time?
12:12
Speaker 4: Bedroom.
12:12
Speaker 3: Oh, bedroom that time.
12:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right, so you're getting sort of a
12:17
Speaker 1: few out. And then you're off.
12:19
Speaker 3: Yes.
12:20
Speaker 1: The worst thing you can do is over-elaborate. Yes.
12:24
Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
12:25
Speaker 1: Because she's trying to corner you, isn't she?
12:27
Speaker 4: She's trying to go, what the hell's going on here?
12:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, she wants answers.
12:29
Speaker 4: And it's like, I'm not giving it to you.
12:32
Speaker 3: See, and I don't know because you've been married for
12:35
Speaker 3: way longer than I have.
12:36
Speaker 4: 30 years.
12:37
Speaker 1: So something's working.
12:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, 100%. I would have just explained that I was
12:42
Speaker 3: upset to my wife. To be honest, I'm just a
12:44
Speaker 3: bit gutted that I've been making you coffee for 10
12:47
Speaker 3: years and I only find out today that I've been
12:49
Speaker 3: doing it wrong. So just so you know, that's how
12:51
Speaker 3: I would deal with it. But how would she react
12:52
Speaker 3: if Jay said that? You know, it's so childish.
12:56
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You know, and similarly for me, you know,
12:59
Speaker 1: I can't imagine that my wife is going to be
13:01
Speaker 1: over the moon that I'm, absolutely fuming about the fact that,
13:04
Speaker 1: you know, she's asking... You've got her coffee wrong. Yeah,
13:05
Speaker 1: that's right.
13:06
Speaker 5: Yeah.
13:07
Speaker 4: Well, because it makes you look like a petulant, you know,
13:10
Speaker 4: ignoramus child and they should grow up and just get
13:14
Speaker 4: on with your life.
13:15
Speaker 1: That's right. I mean, who does the silent treatment? So
13:17
Speaker 1: what you don't want to be doing is having a.
13:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
13:20
Speaker 1: And I tete-a-tete about it.
13:21
Speaker 3: Whereas the silent treatment makes you look sort of tough.
13:24
Speaker 1: Well, it's not about how it looks. It's about payback.
13:28
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like I've been deeply humiliated here.
13:33
Speaker 1: Right. And now it's your turn.
13:35
Speaker 4: And now, you know, you can't expect after humiliating me
13:39
Speaker 4: like that and saying after 30 years I overheat the milk.
13:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
13:44
Speaker 4: And expect that to just be all tickety-boo.
13:46
Speaker 3: So payback is a big factor.
13:48
Speaker 4: Well, you know, and then two, three days down the track,
13:53
Speaker 4: you start to loosen it off a bit. You start to.
13:56
Speaker 1: Crack a smile.
13:57
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, morning.
13:59
Speaker 1: Yeah.
13:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:00
Speaker 1: Where were you last night? Oh, I just had stuff
14:03
Speaker 1: to do.
14:03
Speaker 3: So you don't go home either?
14:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no. Not for a couple of nights.
14:06
Speaker 5: Right.
14:07
Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
14:10
Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
14:13
Speaker 1: Yes, indeed.
14:13
Speaker 4: The Strokes there on the Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday afternoon,
14:17
Speaker 4: the time 4.41.
14:19
Speaker 3: Fellas, it's not the size of your dick that counts.
14:22
Speaker 3: It's what you do with it.
14:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
14:23
Speaker 3: The old saying, tradetested.co.nz. It's a website where you can
14:28
Speaker 3: go along there and buy everything to do with your backyard,
14:31
Speaker 3: your deck, outdoor stuff.
14:32
Speaker 1: Or your front.
14:33
Speaker 3: Or your front yard. Whatever you are. It doesn't matter.
14:37
Speaker 3: But it's a great website. Heaps of great stuff on there.
14:39
Speaker 3: And they have put together... Bit of a competition where
14:42
Speaker 3: you head to tradetester.co.nz.
14:44
Speaker 4: Yes.
14:44
Speaker 3: You put a shopping list together worth up to two
14:47
Speaker 3: and a half grand on the dot. You then upload
14:50
Speaker 3: a screenshot of it at hodaki.co.nz. And we choose one
14:54
Speaker 3: lucky person every single week. And on Friday, we give
14:56
Speaker 3: them a call and say, hey, that shopping list you
14:57
Speaker 3: put together, you're having all of it.
14:59
Speaker 1: How good, man. That's right. Pretty bloody good, isn't it?
15:02
Speaker 4: Be all sorted for spring and summer.
15:04
Speaker 1: That's right.
15:05
Speaker 3: Tradetester.co.nz there. Screenshot your shopping list. Upload it at hodaki.co.nz.
15:11
Speaker 3: under the Big Deck Energy winning tab there, and boom.
15:15
Speaker 3: So I've got a few shopping lists here, fellas.
15:17
Speaker 5: Yes.
15:18
Speaker 3: One lovely person in Hastings has a– What's his name?
15:22
Speaker 3: Her name is Helen.
15:25
Speaker 1: Helen. We're not doing that.
15:27
Speaker 3: Oh, right. We're not doing that here.
15:29
Speaker 1: Back.
15:30
Speaker 3: Helen has asked for a 1,200-watt generator, a premium wet-dry vacuum,
15:37
Speaker 3: a 200cc self-propelled lawnmower– A bit of fencing privacy screen.
15:44
Speaker 1: Wow.
15:45
Speaker 3: An eco-outdoor solar rinse station, like an outdoor shower.
15:49
Speaker 1: Yeah. How good. I know what's going on here.
15:51
Speaker 3: All of that adds up to $ 2, 395.
15:52
Speaker 1: Sounds like she's going to have a sicko fest.
15:57
Speaker 3: Oh, is that a classic?
15:57
Speaker 1: In the backyard.
15:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
15:59
Speaker 4: Or front. There's only one reason you get a screen
16:03
Speaker 4: put up there, Keezy.
16:04
Speaker 3: A privacy screen.
16:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. For privacy.
16:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, so that the neighbours can't see you right in.
16:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
16:08
Speaker 3: For your sicko fest. Another person here, fellas, check this out.
16:13
Speaker 3: A mini kid's dirt bike.
16:15
Speaker 1: A mini kid?
16:17
Speaker 3: Sorry, not like a small goat.
16:18
Speaker 1: Like a kid's dirt bike.
16:21
Speaker 3: A little 49cc dirt bike there.
16:23
Speaker 1: A kid's mini bike.
16:24
Speaker 3: That's right.
16:25
Speaker 1: Do they have those? Yeah. Wow.
16:28
Speaker 3: A mini air compressor. Compressor. A sort of barbecue and
16:32
Speaker 3: a hose reel.
16:33
Speaker 1: What's that? What's a sort of barbecue?
16:35
Speaker 3: No, an actual barbecue.
16:36
Speaker 1: Right, okay.
16:37
Speaker 3: And a hose reel, retractable hose reel.
16:39
Speaker 1: I like those. Yeah, so do I. Very convenient. You
16:42
Speaker 1: pull the hose there, Keezy.
16:43
Speaker 3: Pull it out.
16:44
Speaker 1: And it just goes, bleep, goes straight back in there.
16:46
Speaker 3: Does it beep?
16:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes a noise, yeah.
16:50
Speaker 3: $ 2, 496. How good? Now, this person here has completely missed
16:53
Speaker 3: the point. So they've screenshotted their shopping list. The first
16:57
Speaker 3: thing is a long-horned, Pizza oven, wood-fired, freestanding, $ 1, 300. Reduced price,
17:03
Speaker 3: you know, good deal.
17:03
Speaker 1: Oh, it's on sale.
17:04
Speaker 5: Yes.
17:05
Speaker 3: They then added a louver roof system, two metres by
17:08
Speaker 3: three metres in charcoal, which itself cost $ 2, 800. Right, okay.
17:14
Speaker 3: So their shopping list is $ 4, 098. They've overshot the mark
17:17
Speaker 3: is what you're saying. It's 100% correct.
17:19
Speaker 1: Shocking.
17:20
Speaker 3: So unfortunately that person won't be winning, and here's a tip,
17:23
Speaker 3: that person's from Hobsonville.
17:24
Speaker 1: Is that person disqualified?
17:26
Speaker 3: I guess that particular entry doesn't count, so I'll have
17:28
Speaker 3: to redo it.
17:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we'll keep an eye on them
17:31
Speaker 1: trying to make another entry, right? Because they're bugging it up.
17:33
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:34
Speaker 3: We'll blacklist them.
17:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, good.
17:35
Speaker 3: We'll make it so none of their cars can pick
17:37
Speaker 3: up Hodaki anymore.
17:38
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
17:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
17:39
Speaker 3: So a reminder, tradetester.co.nz, and then enter what you want
17:42
Speaker 3: to win at hodaki.co.nz slash bigdeckenergy.
17:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, good stuff, Keezy.
17:47
Speaker 4: Get involved, New Zealand.
17:48
Speaker 1: That's a hell of a prize.
17:49
Speaker 4: We'll be doing that this Friday.
17:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, calling another winner.
17:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, how good in the meantime. But a U2 for you.
17:55
Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
17:59
Speaker 1: Yes, indeed.
18:00
Speaker 4: Foo Fighters there on the Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday afternoon.
18:05
Speaker 4: The time is 4.52. Let's talk TV. What's on the
18:11
Speaker 4: telly with Mike Minogue.
18:17
Speaker 1: Yeah! That's right. Woo!
18:19
Speaker 5: Woo!
18:21
Speaker 1: Fellas, I didn't really watch much of anything last night,
18:24
Speaker 1: but I just heard Jay start to try and describe
18:26
Speaker 1: what it was that he was watching last night. And
18:29
Speaker 1: in an effort to protect him from having to do
18:30
Speaker 1: it again... I'll talk about the little thing that I
18:33
Speaker 1: did watch. After your recommendation, Keezy, I watched a little
18:36
Speaker 1: bit of... I thought it was Jonathan Fang. It was
18:38
Speaker 1: Jonathan Pang.
18:39
Speaker 3: Pang, yes, right.
18:40
Speaker 1: He's a train guru.
18:41
Speaker 3: All my trains.
18:42
Speaker 1: Oh, God. Yeah, he's a really enormous human being.
18:47
Speaker 3: And he's fabulous.
18:48
Speaker 1: And he's fabulous. I love him. Let's put it that way.
18:50
Speaker 1: The stuff I saw of him was interesting because he
18:53
Speaker 1: was going from... Look, A to B. In a particular
18:58
Speaker 1: Asian country. I looked up the cost of the train
19:01
Speaker 1: as well after you said that you'd done the same thing.
19:03
Speaker 1: These are luxury train rides.
19:07
Speaker 4: High-end.
19:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, so $ 12, 000 US for one of these train rides.
19:13
Speaker 1: And they are luxurious. I'll give them that. But it's
19:16
Speaker 1: quite interesting because, first of all, he has a look around...
19:19
Speaker 1: the local markets and things. He gets a vibe and
19:22
Speaker 1: just laughs, throws his head back and just laughs. Ah, ah, ah, ah. Yeah,
19:27
Speaker 1: I love him. At nothing. I love him. At absolutely nothing.
19:30
Speaker 3: Nah, he's great.
19:31
Speaker 1: I know, I'm not saying he's not great. Yeah. But
19:33
Speaker 1: he's in his own world. Absolutely dying laughing. Nobody else
19:37
Speaker 1: knows what's going on. Then he gets on the train
19:40
Speaker 1: and just looks out the window while he's eating. So
19:42
Speaker 1: every shot is like they just put him meal after
19:45
Speaker 1: meal after meal in front of him. And he's like,
19:47
Speaker 1: the next meal is pineapple frittata and something or other.
19:51
Speaker 1: Never says a word about what it tastes like.
19:53
Speaker 3: No, he says it's gorgeous.
19:54
Speaker 1: He says that's what it is. Right. It's about how
19:57
Speaker 1: it looks, that's right, not how it tastes.
19:59
Speaker 3: No, he eats it and says, oh, that's gorgeous.
20:01
Speaker 1: Oh, right, I never heard him say anything about the food.
20:04
Speaker 1: But the whole time he's sort of just staring out
20:05
Speaker 1: the window because that's a good angle for him. so
20:08
Speaker 1: highly entertaining but also the ones that I was watching
20:12
Speaker 1: they must be from about 30 years ago because then
20:15
Speaker 1: I saw an interview with him and he's an old man.
20:17
Speaker 3: Yeah I think they're from about 10 years ago.
20:18
Speaker 1: He's like well yeah quite a long I think he's
20:22
Speaker 1: really grey and he's lost a ton of weight but
20:25
Speaker 1: highly entertaining four buzzies.
20:26
Speaker 3: Out of a possible five see one of my favourite
20:28
Speaker 3: things is there's this one episode where he's in this
20:31
Speaker 3: train doing a five course meal and he's sitting there
20:33
Speaker 3: and they just keep bringing him food and keep buying
20:34
Speaker 3: him drinks and then he's visibly pissed trying to do
20:39
Speaker 3: his final sort of piece to Cam to wrap up
20:41
Speaker 3: the whole episode, and he stumbles back to his room,
20:44
Speaker 3: and he's just like, well, I've had enough to eat tonight.
20:46
Speaker 3: And he's so clearly pissed, his eyes are tiny, like
20:50
Speaker 3: he can barely see.
20:52
Speaker 4: Sounds like great stuff.
20:53
Speaker 3: And he just says something and then laughs a lot.
20:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. I love it.
20:57
Speaker 4: Fellas, today I watched something called the K-Road Chronicles, which
21:01
Speaker 4: is a reporter, and it's on YouTube, I think, and
21:06
Speaker 4: it's a reporter who basically just tells stories about the
21:08
Speaker 4: stuff going on in K-Road. namely you're homeless, all the
21:13
Speaker 4: stuff that's going on there. He also writes like a
21:17
Speaker 4: kind of weekly little newspaper called the K Road Chronicles.
21:22
Speaker 1: It's actually bloody good.
21:24
Speaker 4: It's really, really good. And he just goes around and
21:27
Speaker 4: sort of interviews all the people that live on the
21:29
Speaker 4: street and all that sort of stuff. And you get
21:31
Speaker 4: a real insight into the sort of stories of all
21:34
Speaker 4: those types of people, which is wonderful. Really fascinating.
21:37
Speaker 1: So go and check that out on YouTube.
21:39
Speaker 4: The K-Road Chronicles.
21:42
Speaker 1: In terms of buzzies, what are we looking at?
21:44
Speaker 4: Look, you know, for that sort of show, I'll give
21:46
Speaker 4: it a solid 3.7 buzzies out of 5.
21:49
Speaker 3: That's good stuff. Local content as well.
21:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, local content.
21:53
Speaker 4: And, you know, makes you think. Makes you think.
21:57
Speaker 3: 100%. Fellas, coming up after 5 o'clock, we've got a
22:02
Speaker 3: politician coming in from the Trust New Zealand... party we
22:05
Speaker 3: don't do politics on the show it's kind of a
22:06
Speaker 3: rule we have but this guy's politics are pretty crazy
22:09
Speaker 3: uh so we're gonna have him in for a bit
22:10
Speaker 3: of an interview also i'm going to japan in a
22:12
Speaker 3: couple of weeks yes and of course we've got pug
22:15
Speaker 3: son our producer who lived in japan for a wee
22:17
Speaker 3: while there so i wouldn't mind getting him in and
22:19
Speaker 3: just asking him for some advice if that's all g
22:21
Speaker 3: fellas go on man sure.
22:25
Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
22:28
Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
22:30
Speaker 4: Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're getting through your
22:33
Speaker 4: hump day, tickety-boo. You're listening to The Big Show, incidentally,
22:37
Speaker 4: brought to you by Reburger.
22:39
Speaker 3: Crave-worthy street food freshly made with Reburger.
22:44
Speaker 5: We're going to need a bigger burger.
22:46
Speaker 2: Yum, yum, yum, yum.
22:51
Speaker 1: We must be due another long one, are we, Pugs, man?
22:54
Speaker 1: I love that one.
22:57
Speaker 4: I personally love the chatty ones.
23:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, because you don't have to talk for like 45 seconds.
23:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's exhausting talking, Keezy.
23:04
Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
23:05
Speaker 1: I like the Jaws one and the James Bond one.
23:07
Speaker 2: Yeah.
23:09
Speaker 1: And that's it. Oh, okay.
23:12
Speaker 4: I'm pretty much a fan of all of them. I'm
23:14
Speaker 4: a fan of all of them. Actually, incidentally, do you
23:17
Speaker 4: want to get Pugs in because you're about to go
23:19
Speaker 4: to Japan, Kesey?
23:19
Speaker 1: Was that the idea?
23:20
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I'm going to Japan in a couple of weeks,
23:23
Speaker 3: and I've never been before. And Pugs lived there for
23:27
Speaker 3: a while and is very clued up. I mean, his
23:29
Speaker 3: name is Pug-san, you know?
23:31
Speaker 1: Yeah.
23:31
Speaker 3: It's a Japanese term of sort of respect.
23:34
Speaker 1: Yes.
23:35
Speaker 4: Can I just say just on that front, I've become
23:37
Speaker 4: addicted to on YouTube. There's an old guy in Japan
23:42
Speaker 4: and he's a sashimi master and he fillets fish in
23:46
Speaker 4: your tunas and he makes sashimi and so forth. And
23:49
Speaker 4: he's absolutely magnificent. I swear to God. He must be
23:53
Speaker 4: like 80 years old and he's hauling fresh fish and
23:56
Speaker 4: buckets of water and stuff.
23:57
Speaker 1: And chopping them all up.
23:59
Speaker 4: But what I love about him, the entire time he's
24:02
Speaker 4: doing that, he's got a durry out the side of
24:04
Speaker 4: his mouth.
24:04
Speaker 3: It's good shit, eh?
24:05
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
24:06
Speaker 4: So he's doing this most beautiful filleting and stuff with
24:09
Speaker 4: a durry hanging out of his mouth.
24:11
Speaker 1: It's good stuff.
24:11
Speaker 3: Well, that's one of the issues I've got is I
24:13
Speaker 3: don't really like fish.
24:15
Speaker 1: That is such.
24:16
Speaker 4: A tragedy.
24:18
Speaker 3: It is, because you've got your fatty tuna and all
24:20
Speaker 3: that sort of stuff.
24:21
Speaker 4: Well, tuna's very meaty, Keezy.
24:23
Speaker 1: I don't know why you wouldn't like it.
24:25
Speaker 3: Well, to be honest, the only tuna I've eaten in
24:26
Speaker 3: New Zealand is out of a can.
24:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's the best stuff.
24:29
Speaker 3: Is it?
24:30
Speaker 1: They only put the best stuff in the can.
24:31
Speaker 5: Yeah, totally.
24:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
24:33
Speaker 3: Well, in that case.
24:34
Speaker 1: If you've had that, why even go to Japan?
24:37
Speaker 3: Really?
24:38
Speaker 1: Would be my opinion.
24:38
Speaker 3: Well, I booked Flexi, so I could cancel it.
24:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would can it.
24:41
Speaker 3: Maybe I go to... Ah, can it, nice. Maybe just
24:44
Speaker 3: go to Aussie with Jase.
24:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, actually, I need some help on that. Spread your wings, man.
24:48
Speaker 1: Spread your wings.
24:49
Speaker 3: You need help with that as well.
24:50
Speaker 4: Well, it's under control, fellas. It's all under control. It's
24:55
Speaker 4: not giving me a headache at all. In the meantime,
24:58
Speaker 4: here's Linkin Park.
24:59
Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy.
25:02
Speaker 3: Tune in weekdays at 4.
25:04
Speaker 1: On Radio Hodaki.
25:05
Speaker 4: Head like a hole there on the Hodaki Big Show
25:08
Speaker 4: this Wednesday afternoon. The time is 5.25. And, fellas, as
25:12
Speaker 4: you know, I get approached on the street all the time. people,
25:16
Speaker 4: big fans of the show, big fans of the show.
25:20
Speaker 4: The thing I guess that has surprised me the most
25:22
Speaker 4: over the years is what people seem to love the
25:25
Speaker 4: most from me is when I do my recipes. Oh, really?
25:31
Speaker 4: Because people love their food and they love to learn
25:33
Speaker 4: about new recipes. And the amount of people that have
25:36
Speaker 4: come up to me after, you know, and said, Jase,
25:38
Speaker 4: I tried that blah, blah, blah soup recipe you did.
25:41
Speaker 4: It's bloody delicious, mate.
25:43
Speaker 1: Right. Yeah.
25:44
Speaker 4: And just today, for example, I had a guy come
25:49
Speaker 4: up to me while I was in the supermarket and
25:50
Speaker 4: he said, Jase, have you got any good recipes for
25:53
Speaker 4: like spring salads sort of thing? And I went, do I?
25:57
Speaker 4: With that in mind, I thought I'd start getting back
25:59
Speaker 4: to my recipes and specifically spring salad recipes. Keezy, if
26:03
Speaker 4: you could play that sting.
26:06
Speaker 3: We don't have a spring salad chat.
26:07
Speaker 4: Oh.
26:08
Speaker 1: Sting.
26:08
Speaker 3: What about winter soup chat?
26:11
Speaker 1: Nice. Oh, that'll do. Onions. We didn't do enough of
26:26
Speaker 1: that over the winter, frankly.
26:27
Speaker 4: No, we didn't.
26:28
Speaker 1: I know. I don't know why it dropped off. One
26:30
Speaker 1: a week. Yeah, it was disgraceful. So I want to
26:32
Speaker 1: leave one salad a week out of you, Horty J.
26:34
Speaker 4: Actually, Mogi, I think this is one you'll enjoy. It's
26:38
Speaker 4: a salted lemon ricotta and date salad.
26:41
Speaker 1: Salted lemon ricotta.
26:43
Speaker 4: And date.
26:44
Speaker 1: Date. Salad.
26:46
Speaker 3: It sounds pretty intense.
26:47
Speaker 1: Well, it is intensely good.
26:50
Speaker 5: Ah.
26:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, you see what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
26:52
Speaker 1: but you're right, because it does have some bold flavours.
26:55
Speaker 1: Bold flavours.
26:56
Speaker 3: Because when I make a salad, it's like some lettuce,
26:58
Speaker 3: grated carrot, and then like some corn kernels.
27:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
27:02
Speaker 4: Well, this is the sort of salad that would have
27:03
Speaker 4: gone great, for example, with your beefy Hearty lasagna.
27:09
Speaker 1: That reminds me, actually, from the Come Down With The Fellas,
27:11
Speaker 1: I must get the recipe for your entree.
27:16
Speaker 5: Yes.
27:16
Speaker 3: Carry on.
27:16
Speaker 4: OK, fellas, so as always with any recipe, everyone needs
27:21
Speaker 4: to know what you need for this particular.
27:24
Speaker 1: Ingredients.
27:24
Speaker 4: Ingredients, yes, an ingredients list. You'll need one unwaxed lemon.
27:29
Speaker 3: Unwaxed?
27:30
Speaker 4: Yeah.
27:30
Speaker 3: But I'm pretty sure my lemons are all waxed.
27:33
Speaker 1: Right, well.
27:34
Speaker 4: Look, at a stretch, that'll be fine, Keezy. Or if
27:38
Speaker 4: you don't have a waxed or unwaxed, you can do
27:41
Speaker 4: your kiwi fruit, your persimmon, your orange, your mandarin. Yes, Moggy?
27:47
Speaker 1: What's an unwaxed?
27:50
Speaker 4: It's a particular growing technique.
27:53
Speaker 3: Right, right, because I thought it was the skin.
27:56
Speaker 4: And it's organic.
27:57
Speaker 1: Oh! You see, what they do these days, and it
27:59
Speaker 1: disgusts me. Shocking bastards.
28:02
Speaker 4: Your commercial growers will grow the lemons and then just
28:04
Speaker 4: put a wax over them.
28:05
Speaker 1: To make them look all shiny and delicious.
28:06
Speaker 4: Shiny, thank you, exactly.
28:07
Speaker 3: Oh, because I thought it was that they were actually hairy,
28:11
Speaker 3: and then they waxed them.
28:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. A hairy lemon.
28:17
Speaker 4: You'll need 300 grams of freshly potted peas.
28:22
Speaker 1: Freshly who?
28:23
Speaker 4: Potted.
28:24
Speaker 3: Oh, removed from the pod.
28:25
Speaker 1: Yes.
28:27
Speaker 3: Oh.
28:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, what about just frozen ones or whatever? Well,
28:30
Speaker 1: you could go with the petit pois.
28:33
Speaker 4: But no, I would not do frozen peas.
28:36
Speaker 1: Right. What about just frozen carrots?
28:39
Speaker 4: Carrots are fine. Or, you know, those bags of mixed
28:41
Speaker 4: vegetables you can get.
28:42
Speaker 3: Well, hang on, those have peas in them.
28:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, but they're mixed with other vegetables, so
28:47
Speaker 4: it kind of balances out.
28:48
Speaker 1: How good's a bag of mixed vegetables?
28:50
Speaker 4: At a stretch, a Brussels sprout.
28:51
Speaker 3: So you'd rather a Brussels sprout and a full bag
28:54
Speaker 3: of mixed veggies than just frozen peas?
28:57
Speaker 1: Yes.
28:58
Speaker 4: Um.
29:01
Speaker 4: Extra virgin olive oil, two tablespoons. And plus extra for
29:05
Speaker 4: the dressing.
29:05
Speaker 1: Right.
29:06
Speaker 3: We don't really do.
29:07
Speaker 1: I've only got rapeseed at home.
29:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, rapeseed. Yeah, I'm happy with rapeseed.
29:11
Speaker 1: I've got sunflower.
29:12
Speaker 4: No, definitely not. But also what works is margarine.
29:18
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
29:19
Speaker 3: Margarine is better than sunflower oil.
29:21
Speaker 1: Yes. One tablespoon of white wine vinegar. White wine.
29:25
Speaker 3: I've got balsamic vinegar.
29:27
Speaker 1: Definitely not. Water?
29:28
Speaker 4: Yes, that will be fine. Anything with any kind of astringency.
29:32
Speaker 4: Were you going to put water in it? A squeeze
29:35
Speaker 4: of lemon juice will work fine as well.
29:36
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah?
29:38
Speaker 1: A bit of turps.
29:40
Speaker 3: Turps, like paint?
29:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you're only using a small quantity,
29:44
Speaker 4: so it's fine.
29:46
Speaker 1: Salt and black pepper, obviously.
29:48
Speaker 4: But if you don't have that, your paprika, your cayenne pepper,
29:53
Speaker 4: your dried chillies, curry powder at a stretch.
29:58
Speaker 3: What about cumin?
29:59
Speaker 1: Definitely not.
30:01
Speaker 4: Uh, 250 grams of good quality ricotta.
30:04
Speaker 3: That's cheese, eh?
30:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's a kind of.
30:08
Speaker 4: It's a wet... It's a moist cheese.
30:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a cheese.
30:10
Speaker 1: That's true.
30:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
30:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, what if you don't have that?
30:13
Speaker 1: Uh, look, you Colby... A.
30:16
Speaker 3: Block of Colby.
30:17
Speaker 1: You're tasty. You're hard. What about those little, you remember
30:22
Speaker 1: those Chesdale triangles that you used to get in your lunchbox? Perfect, Mogi. Perfect.
30:26
Speaker 3: What about like a cream cheese? It's the same consistency.
30:29
Speaker 1: Definitely not, Keezy.
30:31
Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
30:34
Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
30:36
Speaker 4: ACDC there on the Hodaki Big Show this Wednesday evening. Now,
30:41
Speaker 4: listen up, New Zealand. Plenty going on after 6 o'clock.
30:44
Speaker 4: We give out some advice on Meat Paddy Nip 69.
30:47
Speaker 4: And I've got to say, the fellas, and particularly Mogi,
30:51
Speaker 4: it would seem, we're really under the gun on the
30:53
Speaker 4: sleep front.
30:54
Speaker 1: I'm struggling.
30:55
Speaker 4: And we need to sort it out.
30:57
Speaker 1: I'm suffering.
30:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, Mogi's tried a new method.
30:59
Speaker 5: Yeah.
31:01
Speaker 1: Well, the problem with the method that's for the circadian rhythm.
31:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
31:06
Speaker 1: Have you heard of a cicada?
31:08
Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, like the bug.
31:08
Speaker 1: So you're imitating a cicada.
31:10
Speaker 3: Right.
31:10
Speaker 1: Which sounds like nonsense, doesn't it?
31:12
Speaker 3: They go underground for like years.
31:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, they do. And it's exhausting. You're absolutely right. And
31:16
Speaker 1: I don't think that's the way for me because I've
31:18
Speaker 1: got a lot on.
31:19
Speaker 3: Did you try doing that last night?
31:20
Speaker 1: So I did a little bit of it last night.
31:21
Speaker 1: Apparently it's going to take two weeks to reset it. Right, okay.
31:24
Speaker 1: And it's that.
31:25
Speaker 4: Just rubbing your legs together constantly, just exhausting.
31:29
Speaker 1: It's part of it. It's part of it. I know.
31:31
Speaker 1: We'll get into that after six.
31:33
Speaker 3: 100%. Also after six, we've got some Emerson's hoodies to
31:35
Speaker 3: dish out. We just need you to name our Emerson's
31:38
Speaker 3: beer ahead of the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival.
31:40
Speaker 3: Give us a text now on 3483. It's tropical hazy
31:42
Speaker 3: pale ale. Just needs a name.
31:44
Speaker 4: Can I just say, those bloody sweatshirts are the bomb.
31:47
Speaker 4: I wore mine last night at home. Cozy as hell.
31:51
Speaker 3: 3483, name our beer.
31:55
Speaker 2: Any last words? Yeah, well, actually, now that you mention it, well,
31:59
Speaker 2: you should probably know, actually, all of you probably should.
32:23
Speaker 5: Um reaper girl is crave worthy handcrafted and that's all
32:30
Speaker 5: street food so yeah yeah yeah.
32:38
Speaker 3: What's that from i don't know it's from some sort
32:43
Speaker 3: of movie No, it's an original.
32:46
Speaker 1: I think.
32:46
Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels original to me.
32:48
Speaker 3: It felt like it had Robocop-y vibes. Or like, what's
32:52
Speaker 3: the one where Harrison Ford is in that side?
32:54
Speaker 1: Fugitive. No, cybery. Blade Runner.
32:56
Speaker 3: No, no, the one with the whip.
33:00
Speaker 1: Indiana Jones.
33:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the one.
33:02
Speaker 1: Temple of Doom.
33:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the one.
33:03
Speaker 1: Temple of the Doom.
33:05
Speaker 4: What's for dinner tonight, Maggie?
33:06
Speaker 1: Great question. Great question from you.
33:09
Speaker 4: Well, should the question be for you? What was your
33:10
Speaker 4: dinner last night?
33:11
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, my dinner last night was hard to explain,
33:14
Speaker 1: so maybe the question for me should be what's your
33:16
Speaker 1: dinner tonight?
33:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
33:18
Speaker 1: There's a bit of a naan.
33:19
Speaker 4: Okay.
33:21
Speaker 1: I saw some chicken buzzies. Yes. Chicken buzzies. Some sort
33:26
Speaker 1: of curry. They were in the old, one of the
33:29
Speaker 1: drawers in the fridge there. It sounded like it was
33:31
Speaker 1: going to be good. My wife and daughter were talking
33:34
Speaker 1: about it. So I'm looking forward to that when I
33:35
Speaker 1: get home there, fellas. I'll give you a bit of
33:38
Speaker 1: an update tomorrow. Yeah, good stuff.
33:40
Speaker 3: On the edge of my seat.
33:41
Speaker 1: What are you going to have tonight, Keezy?
33:43
Speaker 3: Pork salad.
33:44
Speaker 2: Yeah.
33:46
Speaker 3: Yeah.
33:47
Speaker 4: Are you being serious?
33:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, pork salad.
33:49
Speaker 1: What's in that? Do you have a little bit of
33:51
Speaker 1: pork mince, a little bit of pork chop, a little
33:53
Speaker 1: bit of pork steak, a little bit of pork belly.
33:56
Speaker 1: On some lettuce. That's right.
33:58
Speaker 3: And then you grate some crackling over the top of it.
34:01
Speaker 3: That's really good. We call it a pork salad.
34:04
Speaker 1: Sounds good, man.
34:05
Speaker 3: No veggies in there, though, just pork.
34:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good. A bit of salt, a bit of
34:09
Speaker 1: extra salt on there.
34:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, 100%. You want to be able to taste it. Jason,
34:15
Speaker 3: what are you having for dinner tonight, mate?
34:16
Speaker 4: Fella's going to be honest with you.
34:18
Speaker 3: Hot pot.
34:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, man. Can I be honest with you?
34:20
Speaker 4: Yes.
34:21
Speaker 1: That sounds delicious. Yeah, it does. Can I be honest
34:23
Speaker 1: with you? Hello. I've got a question around pork. What
34:26
Speaker 1: is the sauce that you go with when you're going
34:29
Speaker 1: with the pork? You go lamb, you go mint, you
34:32
Speaker 1: go chicken, you go like a gravy, a roast beef,
34:35
Speaker 1: a roast gravy of some description. Apple. Apple.
34:38
Speaker 4: Apple.
34:39
Speaker 1: Apple sauce, sure. That's what it is.
34:41
Speaker 3: Ours is like an oyster sauce, lime juice, chilli.
34:46
Speaker 1: Anything to disguise the taste. It's a Vietnamese sauce. Yeah, yeah,
34:49
Speaker 1: just drench it in sauces.
34:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, and then ketchup.
34:52
Speaker 1: And some ketchup.
34:52
Speaker 3: That's right.
34:53
Speaker 1: That's what I'm having for dinner. That sounds yum, actually.
34:55
Speaker 4: Actually, I'll tell you what, I am fond of a
34:57
Speaker 4: pork chop with a bit of, you know, stewed apple
35:00
Speaker 4: on the side. I am.
35:01
Speaker 1: See, again with the fruits.
35:03
Speaker 3: Fruits and meat.
35:04
Speaker 1: Criminal. Anyway, sounds good, Keezy.
35:06
Speaker 4: Thanks, man.
35:07
Speaker 3: Faith no more?
35:08
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
35:09
Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
35:12
Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
35:14
Speaker 4: The Killers there on the Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday evening,
35:18
Speaker 4: the time 6.15.
35:20
Speaker 1: Fellas, as you know, I've been having shocking bastard sleeps lately.
35:23
Speaker 1: Shocking bastard. Yeah. Waking up at 2 o'clock in the morning,
35:26
Speaker 1: quarter to 2 I had the other night, awake for
35:28
Speaker 1: an hour or so, and then sort of repeating that.
35:32
Speaker 1: Again at 3 o'clock, again at 4 o'clock, again at
35:34
Speaker 1: 5 o'clock. Shocking. Man, at my age, I'm busy. I've
35:38
Speaker 1: got things to do. Yeah.
35:39
Speaker 4: You need your rest.
35:40
Speaker 1: I do need my rest because it gets to around
35:43
Speaker 1: about now and I'm buggered, fellas. Buggered.
35:45
Speaker 3: I can't tell, though, man. You're full of life, man.
35:48
Speaker 1: I'm full of zest, eh?
35:49
Speaker 4: Yeah.
35:50
Speaker 3: Zesty boy.
35:50
Speaker 1: Can you imagine me if I had a proper night's sleep?
35:53
Speaker 1: I'd be unbearable.
35:54
Speaker 4: Bearable.
35:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be pretty intense. It would be massively unbearable.
35:59
Speaker 1: So I've been doing some research. I've been doing some
36:02
Speaker 1: research into it there, fellas. And I've got this plan
36:06
Speaker 1: that I've pulled together there. Now, what it says is
36:09
Speaker 1: you've got to set your wake-up time every day. That's
36:10
Speaker 1: your anchor. You've got to have your time that you
36:12
Speaker 1: wake up. 6 a.m.
36:14
Speaker 4: Yeah.
36:14
Speaker 1: I said to the guy, I said, are you listening, man?
36:17
Speaker 1: I'm awake at 2. What do you mean set your
36:20
Speaker 1: alarm for 6? I've been up for four hours.
36:22
Speaker 5: Yes.
36:23
Speaker 1: He said what you've got to do no matter what,
36:26
Speaker 1: you've got to stay in bed until 6 a.m. So
36:30
Speaker 1: even if you're awake, you stay in bed, you teach
36:32
Speaker 1: your body that you don't get up until six. So
36:35
Speaker 1: that's part of the treatment there. The other thing is
36:37
Speaker 1: you've got to get outside and get into the light immediately.
36:39
Speaker 1: As soon as you get up, you go outside. Are
36:42
Speaker 1: you looking around, man? It's dark out there.
36:44
Speaker 3: Also, what if it's raining?
36:45
Speaker 1: It could be raining. You want me to get wet
36:47
Speaker 1: in it? Yeah. But he says as soon as you
36:49
Speaker 1: can get some natural light on you, get outside there
36:52
Speaker 1: and that will help your body learn as well.
36:54
Speaker 3: Oh, because it's like dark inside, time to sleep. Day's
36:57
Speaker 3: sun's out, time to wake up.
36:59
Speaker 1: No, he didn't mention that. But it is weird, isn't it?
37:03
Speaker 1: Because you think your body would know. Yes, totally. I mean,
37:06
Speaker 1: what kind of an idiot body have I got? Idiot.
37:10
Speaker 1: Dear brain body. And then the other thing was to
37:13
Speaker 1: push my sleep late. So I tried this last night.
37:17
Speaker 1: I went to bed at 10 o'clock. Wow.
37:20
Speaker 3: That's an hour for me.
37:23
Speaker 1: The night before I was in bed at 8.40.
37:25
Speaker 3: Yeah.
37:27
Speaker 1: And I was asleep immediately.
37:28
Speaker 3: Yeah.
37:29
Speaker 1: But that's because my sleep the night before had been
37:30
Speaker 1: so bad. But anyway, as a result. Last night, I
37:33
Speaker 1: slept until around about 4.30. Not bad. Not bad. Now,
37:37
Speaker 1: that's a start, isn't it?
37:38
Speaker 4: Yes.
37:39
Speaker 1: Now, I can tell you it was painful staying up
37:41
Speaker 1: until 10. I was over it. Yeah. Watching garbage TV,
37:45
Speaker 1: all sorts of things. So, I don't know. I'm going
37:48
Speaker 1: to have to come up with some kind of a
37:50
Speaker 1: hobby in the evenings, I think, if I'm going to
37:51
Speaker 1: be staying up that late. I mean, what do people
37:53
Speaker 1: do until those hours? Well, why don't you get back
37:55
Speaker 1: to your train set?
37:57
Speaker 3: Your model trains, Mogey.
37:58
Speaker 1: That's pretty relaxing. I used to love that. The problem
38:00
Speaker 1: with that, Jase, is I start on those bastards. I'm
38:03
Speaker 1: not going to bed until 3, 4, 8. Yeah, fair. Yeah, true.
38:05
Speaker 3: Adrenaline rush, isn't it? Well, why don't we, tomorrow on
38:07
Speaker 3: the show, we'll get people to text through potential hobbies
38:11
Speaker 3: that they do in the evening.
38:12
Speaker 1: Yes.
38:13
Speaker 3: And feel free to get the text coming in now
38:14
Speaker 3: on 3, 4, 8, 3, every text in the drawer
38:16
Speaker 3: for a $ 50 Reburg about you.
38:17
Speaker 1: My one here says, why don't you have a lovely
38:20
Speaker 1: conversation with your wife? Yeah.
38:26
Speaker 2: The Radio Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
38:29
Speaker 2: Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
38:32
Speaker 5: I think.
38:34
Speaker 1: I'll have myself a beer.
38:39
Speaker 2: The Radio Hauraki Big Show. Name our beer.
38:43
Speaker 1: That's a sick beat, man. That's one from the old
38:49
Speaker 1: Yummy Boys there. Pugsan wrote this track. Listen to that.
38:52
Speaker 3: Did he make this track?
38:53
Speaker 1: Listen to that, boys.
38:54
Speaker 4: Yeah. Once again, now.
38:59
Speaker 1: Hey, fellas.
38:59
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
39:00
Speaker 3: Emerson's, they're running a new promo. It's called Name Our Beer.
39:05
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
39:07
Speaker 3: Nah, but seriously, though, the 2026 Dunedin Craft Beer and
39:10
Speaker 3: Food Festival is happening again November, Friday the 27th and
39:14
Speaker 3: Saturday the 28th at Forsyth Bar Stadium. They are making
39:17
Speaker 3: a special beer to celebrate the big show. It's a tropical, hazy,
39:21
Speaker 3: pale ale. It needs a name. text the name through
39:24
Speaker 3: on 3483 boom you might get an emerson's hoodie because
39:28
Speaker 3: we've got a whole heap of them to give away.
39:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I tell you, genuinely, good hoodies. Good hoodies.
39:32
Speaker 1: Good hoodies. I like me a good hoodie.
39:35
Speaker 3: Should we go to, let's go to the line first, actually.
39:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, let's do it. G'day, Cody, you mad bastard.
39:39
Speaker 1: How's life? Jason Hoy, Mike Minogan, Keithy, you mad bastards.
39:43
Speaker 1: How you going? Yeah, good, thanks, Cody.
39:47
Speaker 4: What's up, man? Have you finished work for the day?
39:49
Speaker 4: You're all fired up. That's the one. Off to get
39:51
Speaker 4: a pizza to celebrate the end of the day.
39:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, good on you, Cody.
39:55
Speaker 4: You got a name for us there, have you, Cody?
39:58
Speaker 3: I do. It's Mike Minogan's boat, actually. Yeah, lad on us.
40:02
Speaker 4: What is it?
40:04
Speaker 3: Hang on.
40:05
Speaker 4: What?
40:07
Speaker 1: Oh, hang on, I've got to find it again.
40:08
Speaker 3: Sorry, I texted it through yesterday.
40:09
Speaker 1: That's all good, man. There you go. You find it, man.
40:12
Speaker 4: Oh, hang on.
40:15
Speaker 1: All right.
40:16
Speaker 3: Pretty hazy, you mad hops, you sick son.
40:18
Speaker 4: Of a bear.
40:19
Speaker 1: That's the one.
40:19
Speaker 3: Wait, wait, wait.
40:20
Speaker 1: So say that again. No wonder. Pretty hazy, you mad hops,
40:24
Speaker 1: you sick son of a bear.
40:27
Speaker 3: No wonder you couldn't remember it.
40:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. That's funny.
40:30
Speaker 3: Good. That's very good, Cody. You've got yourself an Emerson's hoodie, brother. Oh,
40:34
Speaker 3: that's great.
40:35
Speaker 1: That's awesome. Good on you, mate.
40:36
Speaker 3: Thanks for listening, brother. You hold the line there. Pugs
40:38
Speaker 3: will sort you out. Heaps of text on 3483 as well.
40:41
Speaker 1: He's a high-energy son of a B, isn't he? Isn't he?
40:44
Speaker 4: Imagine working with him.
40:45
Speaker 3: It'd be great. Old Mogi's mud puddle.
40:49
Speaker 1: What?
40:50
Speaker 5: Old.
40:51
Speaker 3: This can't be the whole break.
40:53
Speaker 1: No, no. I'm trying to wrap my head around it, Keezy.
40:55
Speaker 1: What does that mean?
40:56
Speaker 3: Old Mogi's mud puddle. Mud puddle.
40:58
Speaker 1: I don't know.
40:59
Speaker 3: You tell me, Old Mogi.
41:00
Speaker 1: I don't know what I've been up to there. I've
41:02
Speaker 1: been a shocking buzzer.
41:02
Speaker 4: It's gone way over my head, Keezy.
41:05
Speaker 3: Most things do. We've had three honkers hazy, fellas.
41:09
Speaker 1: That was one.
41:10
Speaker 3: This one is three massive honkers hazy.
41:12
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that could be for the tall boys.
41:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, 100%.
41:17
Speaker 4: I do like the Three Honkers hazy.
41:19
Speaker 3: Grouse all hazy. Grouse all hazy.
41:26
Speaker 4: I'm noticing there that Mogi's not saying anything because he
41:28
Speaker 4: was going to diss it and you get really upset.
41:31
Speaker 1: Well, look, I'm not allowed to freely express my opinions
41:34
Speaker 1: on this show. Otherwise I get Keezy telling me off.
41:37
Speaker 1: It's not my fault. that they're shockers, by and large.
41:41
Speaker 1: And that's the thing, man. You have to get through
41:43
Speaker 1: the shockers to get to the gold, Keezy.
41:45
Speaker 4: Totally.
41:46
Speaker 1: But if you're not going to call a spade a spade,
41:49
Speaker 1: then we're going to be in a whole bunch of...
41:50
Speaker 1: Everybody doesn't get a medal. Can I put it to
41:52
Speaker 1: you that way?
41:52
Speaker 3: Yeah.
41:53
Speaker 1: Not everyone can be a winner, Keezy.
41:56
Speaker 3: I was raised to believe that everyone's a winner. That's
41:59
Speaker 3: the truth. Ah, Pugsan's Wheeze. Inglebert Humperjizz. Long Snout, in brackets, stout.
42:09
Speaker 1: Is it Ingle Bear, at least?
42:11
Speaker 4: Nah. Oh, God.
42:13
Speaker 1: You missed a trick there.
42:14
Speaker 3: Hazy on all fours. Looking over his... Nah, just hazy
42:19
Speaker 3: on all fours. We've got here Jizzy IPA. Three Ma,
42:25
Speaker 3: which stands for three men and an ale. Snoggins. Keezy's
42:31
Speaker 3: Fermented Lament.
42:33
Speaker 1: Someone's texting me, what's that say? Hazy, P-I-S-S. That's shocking.
42:37
Speaker 3: That's disgusting. Wheat dream.
42:40
Speaker 1: No, was it say cloudy instead of hazy? You see,
42:43
Speaker 1: that's smart.
42:44
Speaker 3: That is smart.
42:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know if they'll get behind it.
42:47
Speaker 3: Wheat dream?
42:49
Speaker 1: Wheat dream. A wheat dream. Because there was a wet
42:51
Speaker 1: dream the other day. Remember that? You guys were frothing it.
42:54
Speaker 3: I wasn't frothing any wet dream, Bogey. Yeah, well, look,
42:58
Speaker 3: that's enough for today. Text through 3483, get yourself in
43:00
Speaker 3: the draw for an Emerson's hoodie.
43:02
Speaker 1: It's not easy. It's not easy, and that's the thing
43:04
Speaker 1: about it is, you know, when we've got a prize
43:06
Speaker 1: like this on the line, it's only going to be
43:08
Speaker 1: the best one that's going to, you know, it's going
43:10
Speaker 1: to take out the prize.
43:11
Speaker 3: Well, we've got a few prizes, actually.
43:12
Speaker 1: We've got heaps. We've got dozens of them, to be fair.
43:15
Speaker 3: Don't forget, if you want to go to the Dunedin
43:16
Speaker 3: Craft Beer and Food Festival, over 75 beer, food, and
43:19
Speaker 3: beverage vendors, Shapeshifter are playing Troy Kingy, Red Fountain, Park
43:22
Speaker 3: Road as well, dunedinbeerfest.co.nz.
43:26
Speaker 1: Great stuff.
43:29
Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
43:34
Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
43:37
Speaker 4: Lenny Kravitz there on the Hodaki Big Show this Wednesday evening. Fellas,
43:42
Speaker 4: let's give out some much needed advice.
43:52
Speaker 1: Get in touch with the fellas.
43:55
Speaker 4: With the fellas.
43:56
Speaker 3: Definitely do get in touch. It's a real email address.
43:59
Speaker 3: We monitor it daily and send out prizes to those
44:02
Speaker 3: who get their advice questions read out on the show.
44:05
Speaker 3: This one comes from Anonymous, fellas. G'day Tony, Old Mogus
44:09
Speaker 3: and Jizzbot. I would love some advice from you backbones.
44:13
Speaker 3: I am a teenager and have started sprouting red warts
44:17
Speaker 3: and pimples across my face.
44:19
Speaker 1: Oh no.
44:19
Speaker 3: Despite scrubbing hard and using face wash, the bastards keep
44:22
Speaker 3: coming back. Would especially love old Pepperoni faced Tony as
44:26
Speaker 3: he was called in high school for his advice. Backbone, backbone, backbone, douche, douche, douche.
44:31
Speaker 1: Thanks, fellas. Backbone.
44:33
Speaker 4: Absolute plague of my life. I had.
44:37
Speaker 3: Well, that's the thing. I didn't have this.
44:38
Speaker 1: You did.
44:39
Speaker 4: I had horrendous acne. Like, I had to go and
44:42
Speaker 4: see a skin specialist.
44:44
Speaker 1: What sort of nicknames would they hit you with, James?
44:46
Speaker 4: Oh.
44:47
Speaker 1: Pizza face is obviously the obvious one. Yeah, I mean,
44:51
Speaker 1: I think it was so bad, actually, Mogi. People left
44:54
Speaker 1: you alone?
44:55
Speaker 4: People left me alone because they realised, God, he's so hideous.
44:59
Speaker 1: It's a tough time. It's really tough. Now, here's a tip, though.
45:05
Speaker 4: I used to wash my face all the time when
45:09
Speaker 4: that was going on because if I had a clean face,
45:14
Speaker 4: then I wouldn't get so many pimples.
45:16
Speaker 1: But that's the worst thing you can do because.
45:20
Speaker 4: What happens is because you're stripping your face of oils
45:24
Speaker 4: all the time, your skin naturally starts creating more oil,
45:30
Speaker 4: which leads to the acne. And you start sprouting all
45:35
Speaker 4: over the shop. So I was doing the complete opposite
45:38
Speaker 4: of what I should have been doing.
45:40
Speaker 3: So just leave it.
45:41
Speaker 1: Well, just wash moderately as you normally do.
45:45
Speaker 3: Don't overdo it.
45:45
Speaker 4: Whereas I was doing my face seriously seven or eight
45:47
Speaker 4: times a day.
45:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you're in a panic, aren't you? You just
45:50
Speaker 1: want it to go away.
45:51
Speaker 4: You are.
45:52
Speaker 1: And the irony there, Jase, is that you are making
45:54
Speaker 1: it worse.
45:54
Speaker 4: Yes.
45:55
Speaker 1: You're more hideous.
45:56
Speaker 3: Yes.
45:56
Speaker 1: For more days.
45:57
Speaker 4: I used to, I remember very clearly, I don't know
46:00
Speaker 4: if you, you'll probably remember this, Mogi, the old Topex ads.
46:04
Speaker 1: For me, it was more the Clarisol.
46:05
Speaker 4: Oh, Clarisol.
46:06
Speaker 1: God, they looked so happy in those ads, Keezy. Oh,
46:08
Speaker 1: they did.
46:08
Speaker 4: But it used to come on in my house, right?
46:11
Speaker 4: Or at school, on the Topex ads. And I could
46:14
Speaker 4: see everyone just doing it.
46:15
Speaker 1: Did you go red?
46:15
Speaker 4: I went red.
46:16
Speaker 1: Because you could think to yourself, oh, everyone's going to
46:18
Speaker 1: be thinking about me.
46:19
Speaker 3: Thank you. Oh, God.
46:21
Speaker 4: And they'd give you a bit of a side eye.
46:23
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
46:24
Speaker 3: When did it go away?
46:26
Speaker 4: Oh, for me, not for a long, oh, no, by
46:31
Speaker 4: the time I was sort of 20, 21, it started
46:32
Speaker 4: to settle down.
46:33
Speaker 1: Right into your 20s. Into my 20s, yeah. She's a
46:36
Speaker 1: long time, and I guess we're talking about this seriously now,
46:38
Speaker 1: so we'll just keep along in that vein. Honestly, if
46:42
Speaker 1: this is what, does this feel like it was serious?
46:43
Speaker 1: I can't remember now.
46:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, 100%, yeah.
46:45
Speaker 1: Well, if it is serious, then go to a doctor. Yeah.
46:48
Speaker 1: Because they can prescribe all sorts of great drugs. Great drugs.
46:52
Speaker 5: Yes.
46:53
Speaker 1: That will sort this out.
46:55
Speaker 4: I was on vitamins, antibiotics, and this horrendous paste that
47:04
Speaker 4: basically burnt your face off.
47:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Not good. I think it's obviously advanced from there,
47:11
Speaker 1: I would hope.
47:12
Speaker 3: Yeah.
47:12
Speaker 1: Does he say what?
47:14
Speaker 3: No, he just says, oh, red warts and pimples. He
47:18
Speaker 3: means pimples.
47:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Or warts. Warts are tricky. Yes. Warts are
47:23
Speaker 1: tricky ones. You need to get that burn off with
47:25
Speaker 1: a dry ice, Keezy. Yeah. You can just get that
47:27
Speaker 1: from any chemist. Dry ice. You can just self-administer and
47:32
Speaker 1: you can get rid of your warts wherever they may be.
47:35
Speaker 5: Yeah.
47:36
Speaker 1: Because you had some, Keezy, didn't you?
47:38
Speaker 3: What's that mean?
47:39
Speaker 1: You had a shocking case of it.
47:42
Speaker 3: Yes, if they were on my genitals, fellas. Backbone, backbone.
47:46
Speaker 2: The Hodaki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
47:49
Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
47:59
Speaker 1: Well, there you go, you mad bastards.
48:01
Speaker 4: That's the big show done and dusted for your hump day.
48:05
Speaker 4: In the podcast outro, now known as the disclaimer, we
48:09
Speaker 4: had quite a good chat about a number of things.
48:11
Speaker 4: We did. But what's the clip today, Keezy?
48:13
Speaker 3: Today's clip is about travelling, feelers.
48:16
Speaker 1: There's all these ways that we're streamlining our lives. You're
48:21
Speaker 1: just you on your own every step of the way. Yes.
48:25
Speaker 1: Except for your wife, isn't it? rules.
48:27
Speaker 3: So good, man.
48:28
Speaker 1: I don't want to talk to anyone. Yeah.
48:30
Speaker 4: Well, I mean, you know.
48:31
Speaker 1: That's why I'm going to Japan.
48:31
Speaker 3: It's just vending machines. You can put your money in.
48:34
Speaker 1: There you go.
48:35
Speaker 3: And then a small hatch opens and ramen comes out.
48:38
Speaker 1: And then you go back to your 10 square metre apartment.
48:42
Speaker 3: That's right.
48:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, great stuff.
48:44
Speaker 3: Travel chat.
48:45
Speaker 4: Travel chat with the fellas. Mogi, your plans for the evening, please.
48:49
Speaker 1: I'm thinking about a sauna. I've got a really sore neck.
48:52
Speaker 1: I've got a sore neck. Sore neck. Need a bit
48:55
Speaker 1: of a rub down. Not a rub down, a sore neck.
48:59
Speaker 3: I'm not giving you another one, not after last night.
49:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. Sorry about that, man. So, yeah, a
49:03
Speaker 1: little bit of a sore neck and then go home
49:05
Speaker 1: and watch a little bit of Tally. Yeah, nice. You know? Yeah, yeah.
49:07
Speaker 1: Or maybe have a bath. What are you up to?
49:09
Speaker 1: You busy or you?
49:11
Speaker 4: Oh, me?
49:11
Speaker 1: Yep. Oh, let's get to Keezy first. No, you can go, man.
49:15
Speaker 3: It's all G.
49:16
Speaker 4: Well, I'll be honest with you fellas, I am hot
49:18
Speaker 4: potting tonight.
49:18
Speaker 1: I'm meeting my wife. They've dried up, though, haven't they?
49:22
Speaker 4: Well, I was saying to Keezy last night, actually... I've
49:25
Speaker 4: just got to back off a little bit. I'm getting
49:27
Speaker 4: too carried away here. Otherwise, I'll get over it very quickly,
49:31
Speaker 4: and I don't want to get over it.
49:33
Speaker 1: But you're normally full bore.
49:35
Speaker 4: Yes.
49:35
Speaker 1: And the fact that I know you're getting over it
49:37
Speaker 1: is because you're coming to your senses. Yeah, yeah. That's
49:39
Speaker 1: not like you when you're in deep addiction.
49:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's fair. What are you up to, Keezy?
49:44
Speaker 1: Oh, what's for tea with you?
49:47
Speaker 4: We already talked about this oh yeah that's right sorry
49:49
Speaker 4: I forgot.
49:50
Speaker 3: Pork salad remember I'm going to go home have that
49:54
Speaker 3: yeah and then my wife and I will probably watch
49:56
Speaker 3: some sort of like low quality television she'll go to
49:59
Speaker 3: bed I'll probably play playstation for a bit have a
50:02
Speaker 3: glass of I'm trying to finish off Pugs brought some
50:04
Speaker 3: nice red wine round to my place I'm trying to
50:06
Speaker 3: finish that off have a glass of that and then
50:08
Speaker 3: go to bed as well good.
50:09
Speaker 1: On you what do you mean trying to finish it
50:11
Speaker 1: off well.
50:12
Speaker 3: I don't usually drink a glass of red every night
50:14
Speaker 3: and I am at the moment why don't you drink
50:16
Speaker 3: a bottle because I need to be in tip-top shape
50:19
Speaker 3: for the big show.
50:20
Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Yeah. Yeah. It's good stuff.
50:25
Speaker 4: Hey, check out the Instagram. Check out the podcast. Till tomorrow,
50:32
Speaker 4: you mad bastard. See you later. Bye.
50:34
Speaker 1: Bye. Bye. Bye. Thank you.
