- 0:07It looks like I made it. There's many times where I
- 0:10didn't think I'd make it this far.
- 0:14Not that I've arrived to where I hope to be going.
- 0:19Jeez, it's been a bumpy ride. I had a bit of an eye opener and
- 0:25a wake up recently. Well, over the last couple
- 0:29years, I mean, most of my life has actually been pretty
- 0:33difficult. I've had great joys and great
- 0:37tragedies in my short time here, but I almost died a couple days
- 0:41ago and today is the day I celebrate entering into the 7th
- 0:48year of MMS. That's not including the Knot of
- 0:53this World podcast, which is pre show to this and today's the
- 1:00Jubilee. That's what God told me, a
- 1:03season for the Lord to restore the time that is lost for him,
- 1:08to restore what the locust has eaten.
- 1:11And all of this in reflection of Oma's dying again.
- 1:17Yeah, again for the new listeners.
- 1:19Recently I had a tree fall from a freak storm a few days ago.
- 1:29As I sit and record this, it crushed one of my cars.
- 1:35It's just a car. We'll get another one.
- 1:38It crashed into the house right next to where I was sitting as I
- 1:43literally was writing a song unto the Lord.
- 1:48And I wept and I cried because my kids were in the other room,
- 1:5510 feet away from where this happened.
- 1:59I was less than 10 feet away from where this ginormous tree
- 2:05crashed down during a storm and it just shows you.
- 2:12Life is unpredictable. But God, he spared my life in my
- 2:19family's life. The enemy almost got me a couple
- 2:23times in my short time here, but this one included my wife and my
- 2:30two children who were in the house with me.
- 2:33And that's a sobering reality. I don't believe in coincidence
- 2:38or accidents. I think everything happens for a
- 2:41reason and it all goes through God's throne room.
- 2:47And so the Lord has allowed me to continue on.
- 2:52I'm not worthy. He's worthy, that's a fact.
- 2:58I guess it's supposed to be a celebration, although it feels
- 3:01like I'm limping and licking my wounds.
- 3:06It's a wild emotional roller coaster of walking into this
- 3:12Jubilee, the 7th year of MMS. I've decided to keep my intro
- 3:18here short and sweet and get right to the point.
- 3:22I have invited 7 individuals who many of you should know on to
- 3:31give a review for me, I guess whatever you want to call it, a
- 3:34congratulations to celebrate this moment with me and to give
- 3:39a word of encouragement to myself and to you guys as
- 3:42listeners. So you're going to hear from
- 3:45Doctor Laura Sanger. She's got a special word for us.
- 3:48You're going to hear from best buddy Basil at Canary Cry Radio
- 3:52and Canary Cry News Talk. You're going to hear from the
- 3:55one and only Vicky Joy Anderson. You're also going to hear from
- 3:59Pete over at the Days of Noah podcast, Scott Mitchell from
- 4:03Bible Mysteries podcast. He's got a word for us also.
- 4:07And Doctor Robert Rhodich jumps on for a brief moment to share a
- 4:11congratulations. And I saved the best for last
- 4:14because I started episode one with my buddy Nick Holistic
- 4:19Nick, as many of you know, and he chimes in and closes us out
- 4:24with a excellent word of encouragement.
- 4:28And that's my celebration to you guys is I'm running the race.
- 4:32I've put in the time there. I got a long way to go, but I'm
- 4:38here. We did it.
- 4:39We made it to seven years. Lift me up in Prairie, guys.
- 4:43Life is real. Feels like everything has been
- 4:46going wrong, but in a weird way, everything has been going right.
- 4:54So I really hope you guys enjoy these audio messages from my
- 4:57peers, from my friends directly here on the MMS.
- 5:04Thank you for being here to celebrate 7 amazing years with
- 5:09me and Lord willing, seven more to come.
- 5:15Let's hear first from Doctor Laura Sanger.
- 5:31Rod, what a joy it is to celebrate that you have been
- 5:35doing the Millennial Mustard Seed podcast for seven years.
- 5:38I remember, I remember when you first reached out to me, I think
- 5:42it was late 2021. And by time I got back to you, I
- 5:48think it took me a few months. You had taken a sabbatical
- 5:52because you were going through just a real rough patch.
- 5:55And I remember your wife was battling some health issues and
- 6:01the Lord just connected us in such beautiful timing.
- 6:04And you know, given the the health issues that we've faced
- 6:08in our family, the Lord just brought us together so that I
- 6:12could pray for you and your wife.
- 6:15And it just was a beautiful start to a friendship that has
- 6:18been growing over the last five years.
- 6:20And so I just am so excited to be able to celebrate what you
- 6:26have done and what the Lord has done through you.
- 6:29And it's been an absolute joy for me to contribute over the
- 6:32years. I think maybe we've done, I
- 6:33don't know if maybe 5 interviews together and each time the Holy
- 6:39Spirit just moves in our midst and it is just a, a wonderful
- 6:44sight to behold. I think one of the things that
- 6:47I've really appreciated about you and just over the years is
- 6:51watching you grow and develop and mature in your relationship
- 6:54with the Lord and it's, it's truly been beautiful.
- 6:58I, I really see you as a man of integrity and you walk in the
- 7:01fear of the Lord. So, you know, you've gone
- 7:03through these seasons with the podcast where you've just laid
- 7:07the, laid it down, you know, a sabbatical season where you,
- 7:11you've put the, the podcast on the altar of the Lord and, you
- 7:16know, as an offering to him, just really recognizing that
- 7:19it's his work, not yours. And I appreciate that so much
- 7:24about you. You know, you're not a person
- 7:27who is chasing after the top of the charts.
- 7:31You know, you are walking with integrity.
- 7:33You're holding the podcast loosely in your hands with the
- 7:37heart of obedience to do just what the Lord wants you to do.
- 7:40And I just, I cherish that because, you know, there's not a
- 7:44lot of people in this podcast space that have a similar heart
- 7:48posture. And so it is a joy, like I said,
- 7:51just to watch you mature in the Lord over the past five years
- 7:55that we've known each other. And so I just want to speak a
- 7:58blessing over your podcast. May the Lord breathe upon it so
- 8:03that your audience will be transformed as they listen.
- 8:06Bless you, Rod. Razzle dazzle, it's me, your
- 8:13best buddy Basil from Canary Cry Radio and Canary Cry News Talk.
- 8:17And I wanted to give some congratulations and
- 8:20encouragement to you, Rod, but also to you, dear listener of
- 8:24Millennial Mustard Seed podcast. Podcasting, especially fringe
- 8:28weirdo Christian podcasting is important.
- 8:32Weird fringe Christian podcasting is is sort of an
- 8:35extension of a millennia's long tradition of asking questions.
- 8:40The world, the earthly authorities, even the earthly
- 8:43church, they strive to create for us a culture or like a
- 8:47scaffolding or a structure for which inside the structure we're
- 8:52safe, we belong, we're accepted, we know what's expected of us
- 8:57and we know what to expect. But inside the structure there's
- 9:00also many rules. And often the most important
- 9:04rule is don't ask questions. Seven years ago, Rod, you joined
- 9:09an age-old tradition of asking questions.
- 9:12But asking questions for questions sake isn't a virtue in
- 9:16itself. The serpent in the Garden had a
- 9:19lot of questions, after all. But asking questions,
- 9:22challenging assumptions and thinking dangerous thoughts
- 9:25while doing so in the service of the Most High?
- 9:30That's what connects today's weird Christian fringe
- 9:33podcasters to a long spiritual lineage of advancing the
- 9:38Kingdom. And I say it's dangerous because
- 9:41it is. I mean, Lord willing, you won't
- 9:43be burned at the stake or anything, but daring to speak
- 9:47and think out loud in public and daring to be wrong and let the
- 9:51Holy Spirit correct you. And daring to venture outside of
- 9:55that safety zone in search of what God is really up to, of
- 9:59what God really has for his people.
- 10:02And what in the world happened in Genesis 6?
- 10:05All of this while constantly being reminded and reminding
- 10:09others that Christ's sacrifice is really the only mystery worth
- 10:14seeking out. That is a mission that takes
- 10:17guts and humility and a firm focus on the Father.
- 10:21It isn't easy and it's not always fun, but the fact that
- 10:24God has brought you back to the microphone for seven years now
- 10:28displays an obedience and a love for what God is doing in the
- 10:32heavenlies and on this earth. So I want to congratulate you
- 10:35Rod and everyone who's contributed to the Millennial
- 10:39Mustard Seed podcast in whatever way you have.
- 10:42And of course, to the listeners, Millennial Mustard Seed podcast,
- 10:47because without you, Rod would just be a guy shouting on the
- 10:51Internet asking questions for who's voice in the wilderness
- 10:57type, you know the type. And he'd be doing it for seven
- 11:00years now. But thank God all of us,
- 11:04including you dear listeners, only want one thing and that's
- 11:08to seek God's truth. I pray God's will and God's will
- 11:12alone be accomplished through MMS for another seven years.
- 11:16And I encourage everyone listening.
- 11:19God has a plan for you in this time, but this time is running
- 11:25out. So get to it.
- 11:27But until then, keep podcasting, Rod.
- 11:31Keep the Truth going, Millennial Mustard Seed Podcast and don't
- 11:35forget to think outside the cage.
- 11:39Congratulations Rodney hey 7 faithful years of torch bearing,
- 11:45delivering God, glorifying Christ, exalting biblical
- 11:48theological thought provoking research to the online
- 11:51community. The millennial mustard seed.
- 11:54It doesn't just focus on unbiblical diversions or
- 11:57theological fads or conspiratorial trends, merch or
- 12:01gimmicks, but it aims to provide solid theological food to its
- 12:07hungry listeners. Rodney, in a world full of
- 12:10Hollywood esque style ChatGPT driven talking points,
- 12:16Millennial Mustard Seed appeals not to the masses but to the
- 12:19remnant starving to death on their quest for true biblical
- 12:24fruit bearing nutrition. Food for the soul.
- 12:30The kind of food that turns into muscle and energy and fuel to
- 12:33spur us into action. Rodney, you aren't about
- 12:37building a platform or a following.
- 12:40Your heart is truly behind wanting to build an army, a
- 12:44warrior class of believers who want to see Jesus Christ come.
- 12:48We want to see sin, evil, wickedness and unrighteousness
- 12:52judged and eradicated from the earth.
- 12:55We want to see Jesus's Kingdom established.
- 12:59To do that, we have to clean up the dung and the spilled blood
- 13:02that has soiled our land. We have to purify the land.
- 13:05We have to prepare the King's Hwy.
- 13:08We have to make straight the way of the Lord so our King can
- 13:11come, but he isn't going to get his sandaled feet muddied with
- 13:16the spilled blood of the innocents or the dung of the
- 13:19elites. Rodney, I know you are but a
- 13:22man, but you're a man of God and I believe you were chosen for a
- 13:26high calling, something much higher than being an online
- 13:30influencer or hosting a podcast. You have a calling.
- 13:36You have courage. You upset your face like Flint
- 13:40and I believe that God is going to use you mightily for His
- 13:42Kingdom. These last seven years have been
- 13:45groundwork, weed pulling, seed planting, clearing the fields
- 13:51that will soon be ripe for harvest.
- 13:54He who reaps is he who sows. What that means, Rodney, is that
- 13:58all of your toiling in the fields will not go unnoticed by
- 14:02God or left for some other farmer to reap the benefits of.
- 14:08And even if an enemy comes and sows terrors in in your ministry
- 14:13or burns down your crops, there will still be an inn gathering,
- 14:18There will be fruit, and the name of Jesus Christ will be
- 14:22magnified. Rodney, press on toward the
- 14:26prize, my friend. Do not weary in doing good, for
- 14:28at the proper time you will reap a harvest.
- 14:31Glory to God, Maranatha, no king, but King Jesus.
- 14:40Hey, what's up, Pete from the Days of Noah podcast here.
- 14:43And I wanted to take a few minutes to share a bit about my
- 14:49good friend Rod Smith from the Millennial Mustard Seed podcast
- 14:53and what a good friend he's become over these last few years
- 14:57since we've gotten connected. And I actually discovered Rod a
- 15:02few years ago when I was looking for more episodes in which
- 15:06Doctor Laura Sanger appeared and came across his show Millennial
- 15:11Mustard Seed. And we got connected thereafter
- 15:14as I invited him on our show, our small channel very slowly
- 15:23growing at the time that my brother Luke and I hosted
- 15:26together in those early days and invited Rod on the show to be
- 15:31interviewed by Luke and I. And just really being able to
- 15:38connect our shows together, our audiences together.
- 15:42And that overlap that we have in dovetailing together in these
- 15:48ministries. You know, not even really
- 15:50setting out personally to have this be a ministry, but
- 15:53something that God has used in that direction.
- 15:57And I know that people are strengthened in their faith and
- 16:01increasing in knowledge, hopefully as Rod and I do our
- 16:05best to present ideas that are important.
- 16:11Many of the guests that I have brought on to the day's and all
- 16:14podcast, I have discovered through Rod's show and we've
- 16:19done quite a few round tables discussions from guests that he
- 16:24has had on that I've done with them and with Rod included that
- 16:29never would have come about otherwise.
- 16:33Rod has been such a genuine guy over the years and as he is
- 16:38approaching his seventh year in the podcast game, more than
- 16:44double what I've been doing it for the connections that he has
- 16:49made, the relationships go far and wide and really speak to his
- 16:56integrity and his heart for the Lord.
- 16:59And for helping people to be aware of this deceptive and
- 17:05dangerous time spiritually that we are living in and what is yet
- 17:09to come and how to have our hearts steadfast and firm on the
- 17:14solid truth of God's word. Rod has been such a blessing to
- 17:19me in sharing ideas and collaborating and working
- 17:25together. And whenever each other has an
- 17:28idea for a show, just to be able to put those things together and
- 17:33bounce these ideas off of one another has been a great
- 17:38blessing as well. So praying for much bigger and
- 17:43better things to come for Rod and his show.
- 17:48And we're excited for where the Lord takes us in the future.
- 17:54Thanks for being out there, Rod. Thanks for being the friend and
- 17:58ally that you are. Rodney Smith and Millennial
- 18:03Mustard Seed Podcast. Congratulations my brother on
- 18:08seven years. This is Scott Mitchell with
- 18:11Bible Mysteries Podcast and Rod, I could not be happier for you,
- 18:15brother. Praising God for your ministry,
- 18:18for the impact that MMS is having on others.
- 18:21I got to tell you, since we met and we've been collaborating on
- 18:25a few duo casts and other episodes, you've been such a
- 18:29blessing to me. Iron sharpening iron.
- 18:31Every time we meet, your heart shows in every conversation we
- 18:36have. Which is not to say that other
- 18:39conversations I had with people, they don't have heart.
- 18:41But yours really shows, brother. And I appreciate you the way the
- 18:45Spirit leads you, the way you feel compelled to say what you
- 18:49say. Your comments, your
- 18:51encouragement, and your sincere desire for people to know the
- 18:55truth is so evident. Keep up the good work.
- 18:59I hope that the Lord just continues to bless this ministry
- 19:03and reach more and more people as all of our shows grow.
- 19:07Millennial Mustard Seed, my show, and everyone of the others
- 19:11out there that are doing what we're doing, trying to use maybe
- 19:15the unusual things in the Bible to reach people.
- 19:19For Christ's sake, I just pray a special blessing upon all of
- 19:22these ministries, but yours is one of those that was out front
- 19:27a trailblazer. And I thank God for you,
- 19:29brother. So Rodney, Congrats again.
- 19:32Best to you for seven more years, or should the Lord come,
- 19:36we'll see you in the air. This is Doctor Robert Rodich,
- 19:43and I want to send my congratulations on years of
- 19:46broadcasting excellence to Millennial Mustard Seed.
- 19:50I've long been impressed at the level of content and the
- 19:53integrity of the questions that Rod and his team asks.
- 19:57What I especially like is Rod's commitment to keep things
- 20:00relevant to the body of Christ and his focus on the younger
- 20:03crowd that has not seen some of the things that us older folks
- 20:08have seen. Personally, I've been on several
- 20:11broadcast platforms and what I like about Millennial Mustard
- 20:14Seed is Rod's uncanny ability to ask the right questions that
- 20:19bring out the best in each program.
- 20:20Guest, I can tell you. That this is not easy to do,
- 20:25especially when the material is outside of the normal spectrum
- 20:28like most of mine is. So again, I say congratulations
- 20:32on seven years, and may God's blessing and anointing continue
- 20:36to rest upon your ministry. I want to give a huge shout out
- 20:42and say Happy Jubilee to Rod and the Millennial Mustard Seed
- 20:46Podcast. The Bible says to recognize
- 20:50those who labor among you and to esteem them very highly in love
- 20:54for their work sake. I just want to esteem Rod and
- 20:58the labour of love that he has poured into this ministry that
- 21:03the Lord has blessed him with. Truly a mustard seed indeed.
- 21:07This man has gone from so little and now is reaching thousands
- 21:12upon thousands of lives all around the world.
- 21:15Testimony after testimony of reaching out saying, Rod, you
- 21:19have changed the way that I see things.
- 21:22And Rod has always been a man of the word.
- 21:24He he studies the word. I've seen this man study and
- 21:28research and, and talk to some of the most influential and
- 21:32prominent people to your next door neighbor.
- 21:35And there's zero bias. There's no favoritism.
- 21:39He is going to give it as raw and as real as possible.
- 21:42And I respect and highly honor this man.
- 21:46I believe Rod is a chief watchman.
- 21:49I believe he is sounding the alarm and he has said things
- 21:53many, many years ago that was very unpopular at the time and,
- 21:58and he gets these revelations way before the time that most
- 22:02start hearing about. Many years later, things seem to
- 22:06happen to him and then all of a sudden they start happening to
- 22:10other people in the body of Christ.
- 22:12And I believe that he is a forerunner in a lot of ways,
- 22:16paving the way, blazing the trail.
- 22:18And I believe that he is the standard voice for this
- 22:22millennial generation and I'm sure many other generations.
- 22:27The Bible says to whom much is given, much is required.
- 22:31And I believe all that the Lord has given to Rod has required a
- 22:36lot of sacrifice, a lot of loss, being a steward of this podcast.
- 22:41So when you listen to these episodes on this podcast, just
- 22:45know that you're listening to a man that has been put in and out
- 22:49of the fire time after time and has endured much, much
- 22:54affliction and has persevered and pushed through the utmost
- 22:59resistance. I believe he is building a voice
- 23:03foundry and will continue to unify other voices to be in much
- 23:08greater harmony and produce a much greater sound, a sound in
- 23:12the broadcast arena that's going to reverberate and ripple out
- 23:16for many years to come. I believe in a lot of ways Rod
- 23:19is a voice to the voiceless, to those who think about the deep
- 23:24things, the things that people don't want to tell their pastor
- 23:28or don't want to bring up in church for fear of being
- 23:31rejected or looked at a certain way.
- 23:34But Rod is the one that's willing to say the uncomfortable
- 23:37things and to make you feel that you're not alone.
- 23:41And Rod, I just want to say thank you.
- 23:43Thank you for all the counsel. Thank you for all the advice.
- 23:46Thank you for all the love and support and prayers that you
- 23:49have poured into me over the years.
- 23:51I honor you, I bless you, and I pray that this podcast would
- 23:56continue to be fruitful and multiply for generation after
- 24:00generation. And to those of you who stuck
- 24:09around to the end, God bless you guys.
- 24:13Really appreciate you taking this journey with me.
- 24:16And for whatever the future may bring, all the glory be to God.
