- Micaiah: Well besides the fact we can hear every single breath Simeon is breathing currently. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: Mostly College Football is back after one of the most wild weekends that we have experienced in maybe 20 years, and it is a welcome sight. Thank you everyone for being here. I'm your host, Captain Boring, alongside my main man, Roberto Conqueso. He is back and better than ever for one week, at least, aka aka Rain Man. He is back. Boys, how are we doing? Welcome to Mostly College Football. Roberto Con Queso: I'm doing swell. How are you? Micaiah: You know, no real no real complaints. I'm I'm excited to talk ball. Simeon, Simeon Schlicher: Listen, Micaiah: it's a miracle you're here. Simeon Schlicher: it is I'm doing three things at once. I'm gonna order a new microphone 'cause mine decided to break. and while I was gone, I was not forgotten. I was doing things for the sport that we all love. I had a friend over and converted him to being a college football fan. I told him he had to pick a team. That's number one rule. So we watched BYU and Notre Dame. We watched the end of Florida State and Miami. We had a blast. We ate subs. You know, we had some chips, which Micaiah: That are a football food. Simeon Schlicher: are a football food. We did determine that. And most importantly, he's going to be listening to the fight songs to determine and chants and other stadium atmosphere things to determine. what fandom he's going to pick. He did like the Notre Dame helmets. I did swayed him away. Sorry, Catholics. Here we are. Roberto Con Queso: So has he just never watched football before? Is this what we're getting at? Simeon Schlicher: College football. Roberto Con Queso: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: He's a Commanders Redskins fan. Roberto Con Queso: I mean you just gotta stop there. Simeon Schlicher: yeah. Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: That's that covers it pretty heavily. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. But he d I needed to indoctrinate him into college football. Micaiah: Well, one thing he will have to be indoctrinated into and catch up in a hurry is the fact that we are expanding starting in 2027 to a 24 team playoff. That was announced last week, and we are now going to cover it here on Mostly College Football because that's what we do here. So right now we are 12 teams. We are going to go to the 24 team format next year, starting in 27. The top eight teams will get a buy. The first two rounds will be on campus. How it works after that, the dates provided will remain to be seen. Overall thoughts, just let's do a quick round robin of this. Robert, why don't you go first? What are your thoughts on a twenty fourteen playoff? Roberto Con Queso: I guess this was just the inevitable that we all thought was eventually going to happen. Kind of kills the regular season, doesn't mean anything anymore. kills kind of the rivalries, they don't really mean anything then either. So it's kind of a disappointment on that end if you're a traditionalist and love the the pageantry of college football. But hey, money talks, and as long as ESPN's gonna get the money, they're gonna change the rules. Micaiah: Simeon. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, sorry. I don't love that we ki we killed the na the the conference championship. I think that I think that's it. I think Robert su summed it up perfectly other than that. W at the same exact time D three, D two, FCS have been running a multi team that's larger than twelve team playoff for forever. so just I guess regular season wins are what's gonna get you your conference champion, and then we're gonna have some postseason football. Bowl game is officially dead. That's okay. Listen, I don't mean to be that guy. Love the season. Hated the idea of the bowl game. Besides the pop tart besides the pop top pop tart bowl. We still need that to be one of the I think they worked their way. Their marketing team really worked very hard and they should now be a playoffs game. Just saying. Micaiah: My big problem with the 24 team is that we were screaming to get away from the BCS for years and years and years. And they gave us the big middle finger that no, that's gonna diminish the regular season. And then they said, we'll do four. And we saw four, and we're like, yeah, that's pretty cool, but could you enlarge it just a little bit? Because we're still leaving out some good teams. And they gave us the big middle finger and said, nah. And then they said, 12. And then they realized that a whole bunch of money came along with. 12 and they raced right to 24 now. ESPN will pay an additional 340 some million dollars to host this conference championship weekend. It will go away, which has largely outside of the SEC championship game, means very little and carries very little tradition with it. My biggest problem is the weekend that we just witnessed, where one and Three went down. Two was on the verge of going down. Number seven went down. Texas went down. Maybe they were number seven where wherever them and Alabama were. Whole bunch of teams went down. There is carnage. And it looks like Thanos just came in and threw a planet down at college football with the carnage that was left. And They're saying 24 teams. Well, in reality, in this new 24 teams, that carnage doesn't mean too much, Robert, to your point. It no longer means Alabama is now on the thinnest of ropes. You know what this means? And this is really bad news for the haters. This means Michigan's still in it next year. This means every two to three lost team is still in it. You want you wanna know who would have made it last year in a twenty fourteen playoff, Robert? Eight and four, Roberto Con Queso: I would Micaiah: Iowa. Roberto Con Queso: Well, that's the big issue is you're Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: getting teams that shouldn't be in it. Simeon Schlicher: They they'll roll all the way to a seven and fourteen semifinal loss. Roberto Con Queso: I mean, if you wa if you wanna make it to where it is what it is, if you are ranked from twenty to twenty five, you're not going because twenty to twenty five is all non power four. Give give them five give them five spots. Why not? Because we they there shouldn't be a four loss team going to the playoffs. It's stupid. Micaiah: Yeah. i they they're gonna have to work out there there are a bunch of they're gonna have to work out again the calendar. So for you if you forgot, we're gonna start at week zero next year. Everyone starts week zero. Week zero is now week one starting next year. It starts a week earlier. This regular season ends. Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday football, mish you know, Michigan, Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama. That ends the regular season. Conference championship, which is the next week or two weeks, is it two weeks after? Is it Army Navy then conference championship? Yes. It w end of regular season. Roberto Con Queso: Ye no, it's it's conference championship, army, navy, and then I think playoff. Simeon Schlicher: Playoff, yeah. Micaiah: Gotcha. Simeon Schlicher: Bowl game playoff, yeah. Micaiah: So what's happening now is the next week where Conference Championship Weekend was supposed to be, that is the start of the playoffs. I am hopeful that they take this 2014 playoff. And when they start the playoffs, you have four rounds in four weeks, and we're finishing up by New Year's or the Monday right after. My fear is, Robert, and you're you're probably more right with this, they're gonna play two weeks, take two weeks off. Start again mid December, then take another two weeks off, and the national championship is gonna be in March at this at this rate. Hyperbole there. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, 'cause they'll they'll essentially compla 'cause they're they're already complaining that they're adding one extra game. And they're like 'cause it's like an e cause they're saying it's an NFL schedule now. Congratulations, guys. That's what your goal is, is to get to the g the the National Football League. So why that's even an issue is beyond me. Mainly it's an SEC issue because all they do is bitch and moan when they have to play an extra conference game, let alone another game in general. But It's just they need to eliminate the time in between. Just play just play it through. Like you you unless it's a weather issue, which you might get more of the longer you go, just like I don't want to have the Daytona five hundred, the Super Bowl, and the College Football National Championship all on the same weekend. I don't want that. I don't wanna have to watch Saturday, Sunday, and Monday because we're too stupid to put on a weekend. Simeon Schlicher: Robert's on fire, Micaiah. Yeah. Micaiah: I I I yeah, yeah. Honestly, I could have just let him go. I I think I also think that yes, we're getting first two rounds on campus games. On campus games until the national championship or the semifinal. I well I'm kinda poking Roberto Con Queso: Mm, don't get me started. Mm. Mm. Micaiah: you a little bit. I'm kinda poking you a little bit here. Roberto Con Queso: We we've had this argument before. Micaiah: Yeah, we have. I want I want more on campus games because I think the Invi the home environment is a and maybe this is why they don't want it, but I think it is a big factor in the game. Point case in point, Tennessee played Alabama and set a record, a noise record made by people on Saturday at 130.3 decibels. Alabama had so many false start penalties and so many procedural penalties because that crowd was so loud. You could feel it through the television. You could see the camera shaking. That is what we need in college football. That is what sets college football apart from NFL football. That is why it's so great. The home environment. And I'm afraid that if we dilute the product down enough. Is that we will lose that home environment. Maybe not in two, three, four, five years, but in 10, 20 years, when we're old and gray or middle aged and gray, maybe still doing this podcast for 200 subscribers. Who knows? that now we we don't have the fan base anymore because no one cares about college football because now it's just a professional sport. Which I know that it is, but y you understand what I'm saying. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: Yes. And Robert, this is a hundred percent just for the boosters, basically. People given tens of million millions of dollars to a program. This is so that the coach can go back and be like, Hey, Roberto Con Queso: Cash money. Micaiah: hey, we went we made the playoff now. Yeah, it's a twenty fourteen playoff, but we made the playoffs, so can you give me more money? Instead of thirty million dollars, and if you're Alabama b Alabama booster and they miss the playoff this year, which is that's what it's trending towards. Well, why'd I give you all that money when Kentucky spent less and made the playoff, you know, a or a lesser team spent less and made the playoff, you know? Roberto Con Queso: You're you're also gonna get a lot of undeserving coaches. Bigger resumes to say, hey, well, I made the playoffs two or three times, be and it's like, yeah, you made it, and it's 23, 24, and 25, which, you know, congratulations. You still had four losses and you crawled out of the big twelve. But you're gonna have coaches who really aren't that great with these, which essentially is gonna look like a stellar resume, a playoff team from numerous years, you know, whether you win the first week or the second week. They're not going to look that far into it. They're just going say, playoff team, he's a good coach. I know Michigan. Wood, Michigan just looks at playoff and says, Yeah, they'll bring him in. It's just going to turn into a lot of bad coaches going to better teams and those teams are going to get drugged down. Micaiah: Or it's gonna turn into a lot of good coaches getting fired because they missed a playoff one or two straight years, right? And it's okay, well, like it it sometimes it does take a minute. In this day and age, there's a lot less patience coming from a Michigan fan who doesn't have a lot of patience, who was calling for Kyle Whittingham's job midway through the game on on Saturday. But we'll get into that in a minute. Back to the sound level that Tennessee produced and set a record. 130 decibels is the same as a jackhammer without ear protection. Is the same as a military jet takeoff, a close range siren. And this is generally considered the threshold of pain for the human ear. So that's how loud that fan base was on Saturday. And that is what makes college football so great and so awesome. By the way, that whole Rocky Top. Thing that they do on third down where it's the creepy no unrack and it's like real creepy and real slow. That's amazing. And I love it so much. So, shout out to Tennessee and Neon Stadium and Volves fans for creating one of the best environments on Saturday that college football has ever seen. Shout out to you and shout out to you getting a win. And let's fast forward because we've spent 15 minutes now complaining about the 2014 playoff. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: That all of us are gonna watch anyway. So we're gonna Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Well yeah. Micaiah: consume any every second of it. Robert, for the first time since 1996, Georgia, Bama, and Texas all lose on the same weekend. For the first time since 1990, in back-to-back weeks, the number one team in the country went down to an unranked team. Chaos abounds. What was your biggest kind of takeaway either from those three games or other games? Or what was your biggest takeaway from the weekend? Roberto Con Queso: biggest takeaway is we're just getting started. Micaiah: Mm-hmm. Roberto Con Queso: We got a long road to go, and the fireworks just started. I it's I can't imagine that we don't have another at least two weekends kind of like this, where we just get a plethora of upsets. I would like to see some higher ranked teams get upset by lower ranked teams, not so much unranked. 'Cause yeah, that's all great and stuff, but like ones that are actually going to change the landscape and not propel an unranked team all the way up to like nine. Micaiah: Simeon, you gotta take away from the weekend in the games you Simeon Schlicher: I mean Micaiah: watched. Simeon Schlicher: Lots of really good football. Like a lot of teams hitting I'm I think we said this at the end of last year of just like the transfer portal really has changed everything. And to your guys' point, to your to to argue with both of you, like it's not a coach definitely needs more than one season to get things going now. 'Cause like Mike Norvell just out of nowhere, top rope. Randy Orton, like, watch out, watch out, watch out, almost takes down Miami. I mean, that game came down to the last play. The the the reason the refs didn't put a second back on the clock for Notre Dame was because BYU was already rushing the field. They like, no, we're not gonna put everyone's back in the stands for us to run. They they noped out of that. those are the two like again, it takes putting in a different p a different quarterback for the Michigan game. Week to week. Missouri looked like a different team leading up to yet leading up to last week and then just got railroaded. SEC is a I I don't know. They're a shell of themselves in the best way possible. And I don't mean that to be mean. I mean like those that conference is fun again. In the same way that the Big Twelve was fun last year and the year before that. So like I I agree a hundred percent with Robert. It's just gonna be good football for At least the next three years until it gets corporatized. Like Micaiah: the Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: the one game you mentioned, Simeon. the the old miss win over Missouri that was a thrashing 31-3. Simeon Schlicher: Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. Micaiah: That's got a candidate for best win of the entire weekend, and no one's talking about it. Simeon Schlicher: H has to be. Micaiah: They dominated that game. Missouri ran the ball for 39 yards. On Old Miss. On Old Miss defense, it isn't exactly stout. And my biggest takeaway from the weekend, not that anyone asks and or cares, is how good these defenses are. Rock, like I I want you both to chime in here. In past, it has seems like elite defenses and defensive players and defenses unit have been SEC only. Now it's You we got good defenses all over the country. Michigan, Simeon Schlicher: Everywhere. Micaiah: Michigan's got a good defense. Indiana's got a tremendous defense. Tennessee's got an amazing defense, right? It and it's not the teams, it's not the Georgia Bamas that have good de like you look around. North Dakota State has the best defense in the country, by the way. Notre Dame's defense is phenomenal. Like I cannot remember this even kind of level across the playing field of just tremendous defensive play. Roberto Con Queso: The big thing with the defense is they're very good one week, very bad the next week. We brought up Tennessee. Tennessee played great defense against Alabama. Tennessee played really bad defense against Arkansas. Alabama played really good defense against Georgia, played really bad defense against multiple other teams. But I see that the big thing is every team, yes, has a good defense. However No team is consistent. Everyone Micaiah: No. Roberto Con Queso: is good and bad. It's a roller coaster. And it's kind of who is going to catch them on that bad day. We you know, we're we sit here and you know we'll say Georgia's defense is great. They were against Bama. They held Bama for a while, couldn't hold up against Auburn. And it's like, okay, polar opposites of teams here. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: What's going on? But I think that's actually what's making the games a lot better, is because Nothing is guaranteed with these teams anymore. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, I'm looking at the the odds on like the money the not the money lines, the lines for a lot of these teams. There is one game that is minus nineteen and a half. Rutgers in Northwestern is not it, surprisingly, at sixteen and a half. Everything else is fourteen or under. I'm sorry. Miami Pittsburgh is Miami has minus twenty. So that's three games that are above fifteen. Everything else is two and a half, three, six, nine. They're all one call it two possession games. I mean, when's the last time you didn't see I mean my that's a really bad when's the last time you did not see multiple three score games on the money line in college football? Micaiah: Yeah, it it i the parity in college football, the NI NIL and Transfer Portal has created parity. And I think a lot of people expect it, including myself at first when I heard this, I said Bama's just gonna stockpile talent, right? Georgia's just gonna Ohio State's gonna stockpile talent. And that's not the case anymore. Ohio State has a quarterback problem now with an injury to Julian Saiyan off of their good win on Saturday, right? We but we can talk about the play calling later that didn't that Ohio State fans want to argue with me online that Arthur Smith's early game game planning did not get Jeremiah Smith open. my goodness. But but I digress. But Simeon Schlicher: Clearly not Penn State or Atlanta fans. I mean Pittsburgh, sorry. Micaiah: it used to be Ohio State didn't have one guy. Okay. Okay, they haven't they just next five star, next five star. Now, now they have a quarterback controversy. There was a post and someone said this is This is evident this is important. And they it was a old post from when CJ Stroud was there. It was CJ Stroud will not start against Akron. Either Kyle McCord or whoever was there when Kyle McCord will start in his place. Two five stars on the same roster. You're not getting that anymore. The depth is not there. You everyone is one injury away from having catastrophic seasons. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, you're not wrong. I mean that's more you you can really say about it because it's you take one player away from any team, you know, whether it's the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, especially if it's her star, I mean that's it's kind of all she wrote and then you're up up what how the kids say up Shits Creek without a paddle? Micaiah: What what were you what like out of the whole weekend of chaos, Robert, 'cause you pretty much watched all the same games I did and you might even watch a little bit more, what like caught your eye where you're just like, wow or that's impressive. Roberto Con Queso: how bad Keelon Russell was. Micaiah: Okay. So i is is he your embarrassment of the week then? Roberto Con Queso: I'm gonna say yeah, because you know, we're going from he looks great with some minor like issues that you see with like a younger quarterback. When they played Georgia against a much better SEC team, historically. Right. Micaiah: Yeah. But well a more well rounded offense, defense, yeah. Mm-hmm. Roberto Con Queso: Then you go and play Tennessee and you're there's nothing. Nothing. I thought for a hot second, Bress Under would switch jerseys. I was like, what is going Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: on? Like under 50% throwing, two interceptions. That is more embarrassing just on the coaching level because it seems like Keelan's ready than not ready, then ready, then not ready. Granted, I know everyone comes and be like, go go rich from a Michigan fan who's bystander, but and it's like, yeah, we get it. Good, good for you. Okay. If your team wins a national championship, you can talk all you want and tell in. You just keep clicking. But Micaiah: Make sure you like the clip first though before you swipe. Roberto Con Queso: It Yeah. It's just really weird how bad he was. Cause Tennessee's defense is good, but they're not great. And they made him look really bad. Micaiah: Tennessee made the entire Alabama offense look bad to your point. They had 201 total yards. 201. That's so incredibly hard to do. They were two of thirteen on third down. They had 12 first downs the entirety game. They was one of three on fourth down. Meanwhile, we need to go back to Caitlyn DeBore going forward on fourth down in opponent's kit territory. It's okay to kick the field goal, right? Some sometimes, but I digress. They finished with five sacks on the day, did Tennessee's defense, right? Tennessee's got a good defense and a good defensive line, and they showed that against Texas because they had like eight sacks on the day as as well, or five or six against Texas. But to do it against Alabama and Keelon Russell, that's a whole nother thing. But yes. Okay, so you got your embarrassment of the week in Keylon Russell. Simeon, who's your embarrassment of the week? Simeon Schlicher: I'm gonna say the refs for the BYU Notre Dame game because they totally did not there was clearly one second, first of all, pass interference was iffy. I'm not gonna argue that. Micaiah: I don't agree. Pa past interference was blatant, but continue. Roberto Con Queso: That's been a running theme this year though. Simeon Schlicher: It has Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: been. And Micaiah, listen, Roberto Con Queso: The whole Simeon Schlicher: they both were grabbing. His head was turned around up until the point where the ball got to him. They both had each other. He did not impede our movement and he did not impede moving back to the ball. Those are the three things for pass interference. So you can argue me, but go watch the film and you'll realize that I'm right. But they totally should have put. Yes, when Micaiah: His head is staring at the he's grabbing the one arm. Simeon Schlicher: the ball gets there, but when the ball is coming to them, there's a replay. He's looking right at it. They're like this. They're both heads are looking right at Micaiah: So the ball's Simeon Schlicher: ball. Then the ball gets to Micaiah: in the air and he's looking back. Simeon Schlicher: here and he turns his head. Micaiah: He is all okay, let me put it to you this way. If an Ohio State corner di does that to a Michigan wide receiver. Simeon Schlicher: I go, where's pass interference? Then I watched the replay and go, he di he turned his head. It's fine. It's fine. It's it's it's Micaiah: There is no way. Simeon Schlicher: clearly not pass. I've seen way worse. I've seen way better get called for pass interference, and I've seen way worse not get called for pass interference, where the guy doesn't turn his head at all and has his hands on the guy's biceps and there's no pass interference called. Micaiah: Robert, you wanted to chime in before me and Simeon started screaming at each other. Simeon Schlicher: One second. Roberto Con Queso: I was just saying I don't know what past interference is anymore because the entire Indiana Ohio State game what was p it it was Micaiah: was passing for they didn't didn't they blatantly tackle jeremiah smith one play and it wasn't even Roberto Con Queso: It Micaiah: called Roberto Con Queso: I do believe so. But like they they're being very lenient with it. And obviously from last week out the Georgia, Alabama no call pass interference. And then you have BYU Notre Dame with that pass interference, non-pass interference. You have the entire Ohio State. They're they're kind of letting everyone play. And it's almost coming it. Well, I mean it is coming back to bite them because now there's plays happening that are essentially deciding the game and you can't throw the flag because you haven't been throwing the flag all day. So you just have to let it go. Either you gotta strict from the start or you gotta let it go. Micaiah: Andrew Martin, the one Bryce Underwood interception. Andrew Martin, that was clear pass interference. The Penn State guy all over him. So, I mean, it's happening whether it's a high-level game or low-level game, to your point. My embarrassment of the week is the drive chart from Nebraska and Oregon. And when I read this to you guys, you guys will be astounded. I want to assure everyone that I was gonna give the 11 p.m. game a go. I said this storyline between Oregon and Nebraska is interesting enough where I and I'm energized enough because we had some people over and I was hitting that dopamine high that I'm gonna give it a go at least until after midnight. Okay. Here is their drive chart. And I had to turn it off once I heard I tuned in, heard what the drive chart was, and immediately turned it off. And here we go. This is first quarter. Punt. Punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt. That was the first quarter. Second quarter starts with Nebraska having the ball. Punt, punt, interception, fumble, punt, punt, punt, punt. Nebraska finally scores a touchdown at the end of the half. Seven nothing. Simeon Schlicher: So the game goes into the half seven to nothing. Okay. Micaiah: Third quarter, Nebraska turns it over on downs. Oregon runs four plays for a total of one yard and kicks a field goal. Nebraska punts. Oregon scores a field goal. Nebraska punts. Oregon throws an interception. Nebraska turns that into a touchdown. It's 14 to 6. Fourth quarter. Wild fourth quarter. Oregon field goal. Nebraska punt. Oregon a 20 play, 82 yard touchdown drive. Nebraska five plays, 35 yards, end of game. The game ends 17 to 14. That's my embarrassment of the week. Simeon Schlicher: Comparison Roberto Con Queso: I just want you to know Simeon Schlicher: for first half. Roberto Con Queso: I was very curious when I was looking at that drive chart Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: how and where Nebraska turned the ball over. Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: It was third and ten on their own like thirty nine. They had a fifteen yard rush up the middle for a loss. Which Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: turned it over. So Why that happened, I'm not a hundred percent sure. Micaiah: Which one are are you talking about the interception? no, you're talking about the the right out the gate to start the second. Okay, let me see here. Roberto Con Queso: Right out the gate for yes. Micaiah: So they kick off to the Nebraska twenty-eight, then they do a six yard run up the middle. On first and ten. So it's second and four. Zero yards. So it's third and four. Shotgun pass to Kalan from Calandria. Simeon Schlicher: Riveting. Micaiah: It incompletion. Roberto Con Queso: On third and four. Micaiah: And then they go for it on fourth and four and have a rush up the middle loss of you're right. Roberto Con Queso: Of fifteen yards. Like what happened? Micaiah: Turnover on downs. Roberto Con Queso: How how do you like first off, why are you going for it on your own thirty-four? Secondly, how are you how are you losing Micaiah: well, did you see the first half drive chart? That's why. Roberto Con Queso: fifteen yards on a run up the middle? Simeon Schlicher: Does that include a penalty? Roberto Con Queso: No Micaiah: No, 'cause it would say penalty and it doesn't include a fun ball 'cause it would say fun ball. Simeon Schlicher: Wait, this is wait, sorry, I'm at the fourth quarter. This is Micaiah: No, the the first drive in the third quarter. Simeon Schlicher: first drive, third quarter, Nebraska. Negative four plays, negative nine yards. Micaiah: I'm looking in the kind of the summary that the AP wrote. Hold on. This is great podcasting, us just learning about this in real Simeon Schlicher: I know. Micaiah: time. But this this is what happens when you start a game after 10 PM. No one knows what happens. Simeon Schlicher: was it a rollout play and because he's technically out of the pocket it counts as a rush and not an attempt and then gets sacked? Micaiah: dude, maybe. Who knows? Robert's gonna be on an investigative mission. Roberto Con Queso: I am I'm looking up Simeon Schlicher: Alright. Roberto Con Queso: the full game now. Simeon Schlicher: Why he's gonna look that up. I honestly probably should just bring up the full game highlights. Just give up the full Roberto Con Queso: That's what I'm doing. Simeon Schlicher: the full yeah, the full twenty two. Mikaiah, while Robert's Micaiah: What Simeon Schlicher: doing that, he's gonna get back to us. I think it's time. This is week eight. Okay. We're actually past it. We're past due on a report card. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: A report card check for I think a a quick rundown to let the people know what's going on in all the conferences. Micaiah: Yeah. I did do a conference standing update on my weekly recap episode, but we can do a report card. wait, wait. Okay, Simeon Schlicher: All right, here we go. Robert's back. Hold on pausing. Micaiah: so what what happened? Roberto Con Queso: Perfect. Nebraska lines up to punt. Okay. Micaiah: Okay, yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Snap comes back to the punter. He bends down to catch it. Knees it. Micaiah: O my gosh! Roberto Con Queso: So perfect. Micaiah: So y I hit the nail on the head with it with it with embarrassment Simeon Schlicher: Perfect, Makai. You pick you hit the nail right on the head. Micaiah: of the week. Holy cow. Wow. Simeon Schlicher: Wow, claps. Micaiah: Robert, great work. Great solid work there. Research. Roberto Con Queso: That is unreal. Simeon Schlicher: Okay. A through F American Conference. How are they doing? The whole we're writing whole conferences. Cause I said Micaiah: The whole the whole conference itself? let me pull up okay. Simeon Schlicher: report cards. Do you want me to share my screen that way people can see what we're doing too? Micaiah: I mean that's fine. I would give it Amer American, I I don't know, a solid B. They're kind of doing what the American has done historically. Really good team two really good teams at the top. In this case, one six and one UTSA Roadrunners meet me. And then just kind of really good football throughout the conference. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, that one loss I believe is to Texas, if I'm not mistaken. Roberto Con Queso: I'll give him an A minus. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: also, mean green, losing your coach, bouncing back two and in conference, four and two overall. That's I would say that's pretty good. Lost to number one Texas. I was right. I just wanted to confirm that. All right, ACC. Micaiah: yeah Roberto Con Queso: ni plus. Micaiah: Yeah, I was gonna say B play. I'm Simeon Schlicher: I've Micaiah: surprised. It's a pleasant surprise with Wake Forest at the top. SMU hasn't lost at home since joining the ACC. Fun fact for everybody. If you didn't catch my recap Simeon Schlicher: fun fact. Micaiah: episode. Six and one. Clemson's hanging around four and two, everybody. Simeon Schlicher: So i ACC to me feels like it's all Miami right now. Like this it's nice, we're ranking Wake Forest, we're ranking SMU. Really fun to watch from number four down to basically Duke. Micaiah: I would agree. Simeon Schlicher: So whatever that is. Micaiah: I like how Georgia Tech is two and four, but they're not even the bottom of the ACC. That's a that's amazing. Simeon Schlicher: They're not. Syracuse is is 0 and 4 over wait. In the conference. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Th there's a couple of those. Stanford, again, one of those teams. Horrible in conference. Has a few wins. Fun game. Alright, Big Twelve. Again, kinda the sleeper conference again this year. Roberto Con Queso: I'd give him an A. Micaiah: I would give an A to an A plus. Simeon Schlicher: They were a B minus up until BYU beat beat Notre Dame this past week. Micaiah: Wi with how much the other conferences are cannibalizing, hot take here. The B w the Big Twelve could get three to four teams in with how well they're playing right now. Simeon Schlicher: Well, we got one, two, there's five here that are ranked right now. Probably all have to still play each other still. Two. So I hope it's kinda like that crazy year, what was that, two, three years ago? When they all when it like came down to the last weekend and we were having to do like calculus in order to figure out who the conference championship w conference champion was gonna be. Yeah. Micaiah: We were having to use letters instead of numbers and Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Big ten. Micaiah: I'm gonna give another A. I mean, it's nice that UCL UCLA should not be nine, but they're but they're up there just because they lost their quarterback. I and I think Simeon Schlicher: Who Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: I think the Big Ten's in the position like the SEC is. It's gonna eventually cannibalize each other. Like, like this is Simeon Schlicher: I mean Micaiah: cause anyone from that mid-pack from Minnesota all the way down to Michigan, I'd say, can beat just about anybody. And they've proven that, right? On their best day. And on the other team's mediocre day at the top, all the ranked teams, they can get beat. Shout out Northwestern, by the way. Five and one. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. This I'm not sure what surprises me more here for the big ten, just taking two seconds. UCLA being one, unanimous number one, Micaiah: In the conference. Simeon Schlicher: in the conference, right? Northwestern being here and ranked, or Michigan State being in dead last right now. Technically sharing with Maryland, or even Penn State there. I I I thought Michigan State was gonna look way better than they are, and they have not. Micaiah: The only thing sh saving Greg Shiano's job at Rutgers is the fact that Mike Loxley's more terrible. That's the only thing saving his job. He's so bad. Simeon Schlicher: Washington has played seven probably really fun games to watch and are somehow one and three. Just one of those like it's it's it's honestly, by the way, Nebraska's both losses, still by one score, still doing Nebraska things. C USA Robert, what you got? Roberto Con Queso: give him a C. C for come on man. You know, Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: you still got two teams, essentially the two teams that generally are always at the top. You know, Micaiah: I'll give I'll give him a C plus just 'cause it's conference USA. Roberto Con Queso: Come on, plus Simeon Schlicher: Come on, come on, play him. All right, Mac. Who here before Roberto Con Queso: mean Simeon Schlicher: the season knew before the season started remembered that Sacramento State was in the Mac now? Micaiah: I I did. Everyone who's on the podcast regularly did. Simeon Schlicher: No, no, no, no. I didn't say who knew, I said who remembered. Micaiah: again, everyone on the podcast regularly remembers. Roberto Con Queso: I mean I generally look at the scorecards for the weekend, I see them play, so Micaiah: I and I will give the I will give the Mac a C. They just get beat up out of conference. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Cool it. I'm cool it. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Michigan, eastern Michigan being up there, good for them. I mean four and four overall. Micaiah: Hey, we're gonna cover it we're gonna cover them later. Simeon Schlicher: We are, we are. Mountain West, the new Mountain West. Air Force did not throw a single pass in week seven and won the game. Micaiah: Amazing. Amazing. Simeon Schlicher: I'm giving Ma honestly Mountain West's first season, I'm giving I'm gonna give him an A minus. What do we think? Roberto Con Queso: I'd give him a Micaiah: I'm gonna get Roberto Con Queso: B. Micaiah: I'm gonna give him a I'm gonna give him a B plus actually. I Simeon Schlicher: Okay. Micaiah: I think the addition of North Dakota State. my gosh. Sorry, I'm I'm w I'm watching the Nebraska replay that Robert Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: you sent in chat. My goodness. And the refs were even right on top of it. my goodness, how embarrassing. the the addition of North Dakota State. Fantastic. Get my get Montana, Montana Simeon Schlicher: Huge. New Mexico coming out of nowhere. Micaiah: State in there as well. And you'll Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: have quite the powerhouse conference there out west. Simeon Schlicher: Honestly, new pack twelve. Micaiah: Gonna give us C plus. Roberto Con Queso: think I would just give them a C because if anyone thought that it was going to be anything other than Boise I mean, I guess Oregon State is kind of your surprise. But I think when they said it was going to be Boise State, Micaiah: Jesse Legree, let's go. Roberto Con Queso: like Boise State was like, Okay, yeah, they're just going to continuously win the conference. Simeon Schlicher: yeah, I agree with you. Nothing to be nothing nothing suspect there. Micaiah: Jesse Legree, 1,040 yards now on the season as a true freshman. Simeon Schlicher: Crazy. Southeastern Conference. Roberto Con Queso: No, I'm just kidding. I mean it they're an A. It's kinda I it's the SEC. They're always gonna have multiple ranked teams. They're always gonna have cannibalize each other. I mean it's an A. Simeon Schlicher: With Vanderbilt being in Micaiah: I would agree. Simeon Schlicher: the basement without being in the basement is hilarious to me. Micaiah: Yeah, I I think that Roberto Con Queso: Vanderbilt is bad. That is a bad three and four team. Micaiah: robber Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Bruh, if you watched if you sat through that old Miss Vanderbilt game, God bless your soul. Micaiah: You you watched watched the last five minutes of Vanderbilt Old Miss and are just like immediately no turned it and I don't blame you. I really do not blame you. Roberto Con Queso: that was so bad. Micaiah: Sometimes it's obvious when you turn on a television and you're just like, Well, this team sucks. I will get much like the Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: Big Ten, anyone from LSU, I would say all the way down to South Carolina. Has been proven and can beat anyone on any day, whether it's good, bad, or ugly. Arkansas and Vanderbilt excluded. Simeon Schlicher: South Carolina's favorite. South Carolina is favored this week. Roberto Con Queso: Let's calm down about Texas. Okay? 'Cause Texas has not Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: shown us anything other than the fact that they can come from a deficit to beat Ohio State, 'cause they can't beat Florida and they can't beat Oklahoma. Micaiah: They did beat Tennessee. Simeon Schlicher: Maki T Roberto Con Queso: Which is intr weird. Micaiah: Which i which is weird. Simeon Schlicher: Well, so is Kentucky having a share of the the conference head right now, so Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: who knows what this is. All right, Sunbelt. Micaiah: I'm gonna give it a C plus and James Madison an A minus. Simeon Schlicher: I are we surprised James Madison isn't ranked? Micaiah: I don't know, look at their schedule, who'd they be? Roberto Con Queso: No, I don't Simeon Schlicher: No one. Roberto Con Queso: think. Because at least Boise State's Boise State started off better, I think, but Boise State Micaiah: They've also played way more. Roberto Con Queso: lost to Oregon. Simeon Schlicher: So quality wins in liberty right now. Micaiah: They they've also played way more com conference games. They've played Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: one at least one more conference game than their next closest conference partner. They're four and Everyone el I guess Old Dominion's played four. But it's just them and Old Dominion who have played four conference games. Everyone else has Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, right now their their only quality win is against liberty. Micaiah: And then they ha their Roberto Con Queso: I mean Micaiah: quote unquote tough game is at Yukon on the fourteenth of November. Yukon's three and three. Simeon Schlicher: I don't know how I feel like App State is more of a Roberto Con Queso: But I mean, looking at this, it's pretty easy to see why they're leaving. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. This this Roberto Con Queso: Because Simeon Schlicher: conference was much better last year. Roberto Con Queso: They are just beating the tar off of everybody. Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Where are they going again, Robert? Micaiah: The American. Roberto Con Queso: American. Simeon Schlicher: Okay, good. Micaiah: Scroll so so scroll up to the American. They're they're just Wow. They're just gonna face a different level of athlete there in the Amer in the American. Dude that Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. strokes strokes over there. Micaiah: Wow. so that is the midseason check-in. We did the embarrassments, we did the wild and wacky week that was, and so let's flip the page and go ahead and look at week eight. And week eight's got some not as much ranked on ranked violence, but the potential for really good games and more importantly, really good upsets. Because historically in college football, when you get a big time win, either you win it. Or you're on the losing end of it, the next week there could be a hangover, especially if you are going on the road. But we are going to start with Ole Miss and Texas. Texas may or may not have an arch problem. Their red shirt freshman is now getting more first team reps. I do not think that this is all an arch manning problem. I think it is a combination of the offensive line not blocking well either in the run game or pass game. I think it's Sark's play calling. There is not as much creativity as there once was on that. The Texas defense is top 15 in the nation in just about all categories. The Old Miss offense, though, is electric, especially when they get that running game going, like they did against Missouri. They ran for well over 200 yards and seven yards of pop. The Ole Miss defense had their best game last week against Missouri at home. They're now on the road in Austin. Robert, what do you let's start with you? What do you see? With this game. Roberto Con Queso: I don't really know because I don't know which one of these teams is going to show up. Is it you know, is Ole Miss gonna show up like they did against Florida and get just demolished? Is Texas gonna show up like they have the past two weeks? Conveniently enough, they have lost both of those games twenty seven twenty four. So if Texas can score more than twenty four points, they might win. Micaiah: Fun fact of the day there. Simeon Schlicher: Now you know that yeah, there you go. But you just answered the question. Move on. Next point. Roberto Con Queso: But yeah, but you know, can Texas run the ball? We don't know. Can Arch Manning Well they can pass the ball just not to the right team. Like Simeon Schlicher: Katex has passed the ball. Yeah, true. Roberto Con Queso: can Arch get out of his own way? Micaiah: Can he not have the late turnover? Right? He had two he had a late turnover, a fumble against Florida, and a late interception against Oklahoma. Both led to the losses. Simeon, who are you trusting more right now? Texas or Old Miss? Simeon Schlicher: All mess. Micaiah: Great. All right. I I I'm with I'm with Simeon Schlicher: They have a just they have a track record. That's good enough. They have a track record that goes back at least two seasons. Micaiah: I I'm with you and I'm and I trust six better than sixteen. Does that make sense? And that's not the Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. I'll allow it. Roberto Con Queso: Yep. Yep. Micaiah: raking, that's the quarterback's number. Okay. Number two game is Houston coming off a big thrilling ranked win against Oklahoma State, going on the road to one of the more tougher places to play in all of college football, and that is in front of the mighty Utah Youth student section. This is 1015 on ESPN. Robert, real quick, you staying up. Roberto Con Queso: Nope. Micaiah: All righty. Simeon Schlicher: yo, late games though, kinda fire. Micaiah: Kinda primo, sure. Roberto Con Queso: Sleeping in bed? Pretty fire. Simeon Schlicher: Same, same, same, same, Roberto Con Queso: Ha ha ha. Simeon Schlicher: same. Micaiah: Sleeping in bed. Roberto Con Queso: Sorry, bud. Micaiah: the Utah offense Simeon Schlicher: You next no bottles is necessary. Micaiah: uses two quarterbacks. Did we know this? Simeon Schlicher: I mean they have for the past like decade. Roberto Con Queso: Utah? Yeah, that's Micaiah: Utah's Roberto Con Queso: that's been the calling card of Utah. Micaiah: Well, this year they're very creative with it. It is everything that Michigan fans were hoping to get with Jason Beck and just are not getting. Utah's offense is ninth in the country in total yards per game. They are eighth in the country in scoring. So their offense has not skipped a beat since last year. Their defense, top twelve in scoring points per game, top twelve in rushing, and top thirty in yards per game. Houston's offense, though, is a Efficiency machine. They are 12th in points per game, 16th in rushing, 36th in passing, 10th in yards. Their defense is just as stout and consistent. They are sixth in rushing, 45th in points per game. Teams are having to pass against them a lot, so they're 129th, but that is the weak spot if you're gonna find that against the Houston defense, and they're 60th in to giving up total yards per game. How are we seeing this kind of feeling out? Simeon Schlicher: I'm looking at the last five games for Utah Colorado, Kansas, Iowa State, Utah State, Arkansas. This is their first real game that they have to play. Give me Houston. Roberto Con Queso: Here's your here's your shootout of the week. You know, Connor Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Wegmans flipping it twenty and two. Dil is that Dylan Dampier, I'm pretty sure. Devon. Micaiah: Dev Devin, yeah. Roberto Con Queso: fi fifteen and four. Like both of these quarterbacks are gonna spin the bean. Very much so. Micaiah: I I'm again I'm with you, Robert. Shootout coming in hot. Utah is eighth in time of possession. Right behind them, ninth is Houston, right? So these are two very on paper, evenly matched teams. The game is not played on paper. Let's just hope they either call pass interference or we don't call pass interference. And let's make sure we put a second back on the clock if it comes down to that for the love of all. Simeon Schlicher: And let's stop rushing the fields until the refs call the game. Micaiah: Okay. Robert, you you probably gave me this idea, but I'm gonna just reiterate it and take it from my own because that's what I do. If the students rush the field and the game isn't over, right? And the refs when the refs cause they'll make an announcement, they the game is not over, the game is not over, it's a 15 yard penalty. Start penalizing Roberto Con Queso: yeah. Micaiah: these teams and make the students like pay attention to the end of the game. Roberto Con Queso: I just I just don't th I think you we need to get rid of field storming in general. 'Cause it's no, 'cause it Micaiah: I disagree. I love it. Roberto Con Queso: happens so often that it Simeon Schlicher: It's not special. Roberto Con Queso: it it isn't anymore. We have a team Simeon Schlicher: But Roberto Con Queso: we have a eight we have a twelve beating a ten and it's like storm the field. Christ Michig Simeon Schlicher: tabit Roberto Con Queso: Michigan did it against Western. Micaiah: Well, right, okay, yes, you can do it in embarrassing fashion, but Tennessee beating Alabama, I'm all there because they don't do it that often. Simeon Schlicher: Listen, no matter how much I have sex, it's still special. You know? So I see both sides of the argument here. Roberto Con Queso: Okay. Micaiah: Okay. I I am with you that it has become a little that they do do it too much, right? F student sections do do it too much. But I I don't want to get rid of it altogether because now we're just Simeon Schlicher: Doo doo. Deuce Alexander. Micaiah: now we're just the NFL and the NFL sucks if we're being totally honest. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, now now we're we're focusing on what the game actually is and it's football. Like Micaiah: Or do what Clemson does and everyone's allowed on the field after the game, after both teams leave the field. Do one or the other. Roberto Con Queso: Right. Yeah, that's fine. Just make sure, just get the opposing team off the field before it happens. Because that's Micaiah: I agree with you. huh, I'm with you. I am with you. Roberto Con Queso: how stuff happens. People get hurt because the people in the fan the fans are belligerently drunk a hundred percent. So they do the dumbest things. Micaiah: yeah. Well, at Saturday night they weren't. Roberto Con Queso: No, but Micaiah: Yeah, I I I I see your Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: point. Yes. do you know they pass out ice cream to the visiting team? Like Roberto Con Queso: Who does? Micaiah: BYU, BYU like to the visiting like team section? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, that's a that's a nice Mormon thing though. Micaiah: Dude. Pat McAfee reading from the Book of Mormon. Roberto Con Queso: That like th Yeah, that's like it's almost insulting. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: To t for someone to be that nice to you or for them giving you free ice cream? Roberto Con Queso: To get free ice cream after you just got whooped on. Micaiah: Well they did it in the third quarter. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, it's like, hey, we've we we've been kicking your ass all game. Here's some free ice cream for ya. Cheerio. Have a good rest of your game. Simeon Schlicher: is that what they were doing? I want ice cream? I was wondering what they were doing. Micaiah: just real quick time out the rubber. Would you eat it? Yeah. I'm gonna eat their condescending ice cream. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brother, Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: you don't look this way from passing on the ice cream. Okay? Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Nah, fam. That's unholy ice cream right there. Micaiah: I I hope that it's good ice cream and it's probably really good ice cream. Simeon Schlicher: It looked good. Listen, the Roberto Con Queso: I've really hoped Simeon Schlicher: carton, I don't know about you, but when I saw him pass out, I went, no, I want ice cream. So listen, Roberto Con Queso: I just hope it's not dairy free ice cream. Simeon Schlicher: when you listen when you k don't drink, that means everything else is elevated. Micaiah: Yeah, yeah, sure. Simeon Schlicher: Just saying. Just sayin'. Moving along, Kyle. Micaiah: all right in a sneaky in a sneaky game on the CW at 10 p.m. We have the North Dakota State Bison, 6-1, going to the New Mexico Lobos. Just a minute. Let me finish. Who are 5-1 and 2-0 in the Mountain West? These are the top two teams Simeon Schlicher: What she said. Micaiah: in the Mountain West, going head to head. the New Mexico offense, 10th in point points per game. Their defense. Number one in the country in points per game, allowing just 10.5. their coach is probably gonna be a sought-after candidate in in this upcoming hiring cycle. Let's turn it over to North Dakota State. They are efficient. They don't do anything too well. they are top 50 in rushing yards a game, and that's pretty much what they do. But their calling card is defense because the number one, right behind the number one defense in New Mexico, is the North Dakota State bison, who are number two. They are also number two in the FPS in yards allowed per game and number two in passing yards per game, and number 34 in rushing yards per game. Take the under. This game might end ten to seven if we're being totally honest with you. Simeon Schlicher: UNL V game thirteen seven. That was the loss. Micaiah: Yeah. I we're gonna struggle to get seven points on the board, I think. Robert, what are you seeing in this one? Roberto Con Queso: you know what? This is a breakout game. it's gonna surprise everyone. This is gonna be the twenty seven twenty one game. It's gonna start off hot. Keach catching both teams off s off off guard. multiple scores in the first half, second half rolls around. Snoozefest. Defensive game. Micaiah: So you can go to bed at halftime, or vice versa. Simeon Schlicher: Or vice versa. Or vice versa. He's sleeping. This game's also at ten thirty. We've already been over this. Roberto Con Queso: go to bay. Are we are you kidding me? Yeah, dude. I'm barely gonna make it like who's my seven thirty game? Ole Miss Texas. That game goes off that TV, Bob's going to bed. Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: I in bed. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. I'm probably in bed watching the game. Simeon Schlicher: Bob's Bob's discount furniture, Bob's discount Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: snooze and sh I don't know. We're sponsored by Kindred Couches. Go buy your couch there. Micaiah: New Mexico Simeon, New Mexico leads the FBS plus seventeen in turnover margin. North Dakota State ranks eighth at plus seven. Simeon Schlicher: Dude, one of their linebackers has fifty-one tackles compared to the other linebacker, these are their leaders, who has thirty-two. I'm looking New Mexico has two quarterbacks. The other one who plays. They play two with two quarterbacks. Their quarterback only has six hundred and ninety-eight yards. Their leading quarterback. Not not great either. Forty one f well, consistent, forty forty-one for seventy-three, but five touchdowns, three INTs. I called this game. I said, this is gonna be a game to watch two or three weeks ago. That's what I was raising my hands for. I said, hey, this coach is gonna be sought after. I'm just saying you're regurgitating all my points, even though I'm not here. It was the only other time I was on the podcast during the regular season. Even though I'm not here, I'm still making good points. So I was right Micaiah: New Mexico's offense Simi. Simeon Schlicher: about I was right about Georgia Tech. And I was right about New Mexico State. sorry. This Micaiah: Sieman Just Simeon Schlicher: is gonna be a great game. I'm not staying up for it though. Micaiah: You're n no one's gonna stay up for this game? What are we doing? I'm not gonna stay up I'm Simeon Schlicher: I want to. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, what do you mean what are we doing? I already have to s Simeon Schlicher: I got a long day. I got tr Roberto Con Queso: I already gotta sit there and watch Michigan get blown out by Indiana. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Listen, I'm not gonna watch Micaiah: that'll be a game in the first half. Simeon, to your point, New Mexico is 127th in the nation in passing. There are 136 teams. So they're they're not they're 10th in scoring on offense somehow, Simeon Schlicher: That is a defensive and turnaround and handball off to Yeah. Micaiah: probably because they're 21st in rushing, but they're 80th in in yards per game. So their defense probably giving them short fields. Simeon Schlicher: I'm I mean this is okay, so first of all, sixty one to seven blowout of UTEP and forty two to eighteen blowout of New Mexico State. This is also a team that lost to Oklahoma. Which you know what that's saying. So take it for what it is. I don't know, it's gonna be a good game. I don't love the matchup predictor by ESPN analytics, but I like the four and a half. Give me n I think give me North Dakota State though. Micaiah: Simeon, by the way, you are on the podcast now, so I do owe you this apology. Simeon Schlicher: my gosh. All I'm saying is I'm better at calling things than you are. Micaiah: no you're not because we can look at the super relatives. Roberto Con Queso: Ex Ex Except the winners. Micaiah: And I have nailed like so many of these super super relatives. Anyway, let's go to the f Simeon Schlicher: Alright. We know it's pronounced for the record. We know it's pronounced superlatives. We call it super relatives. Micaiah: Saman, no one has been calling, has been commenting that that our our pronunciation of super relevant. Simeon Schlicher: Listen, pretend like they w are and then they will. Micaiah: Hey, I do that every week on the recap podcast. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: Robert, the final game features the USC Trojans going two time zones over, which historically, under the Lincoln Riley era, has been very challenging for them because they're away from LA, going back east. They are playing a night game. Why do they get to play at night every time they go east? And everyone gets to play them at night when they go west. It bothers me to take on the Wisconsin Badgers poor showing. in when Wisconsin went to LA to take on UCLA, they had been play playing pretty good ball. What are we seeing in this one? U U U S C's defense is still bad, by the way. Roberto Con Queso: listen, it's a 7 30 game. It's in Wisconsin. Last time I checked, it's gonna be October 24th. It's gonna be chili. LA Micaiah: Yep. Should be. Roberto Con Queso: LA boys don't play chili football. This game is probably gonna be a lot closer than what everyone is wanting it to be. Because I would assume most people are just like, it's just it's Wisconsin. USC's gonna beat up. I'm go I'm looking at the opposite. I'm thinking Wisconsin is going to be giving them quite the run for their money. I've envisioned this a slow paced, closed game. Micaiah: the high on sa Roberto Con Queso: Mainly by defense. Micaiah: the high the low on Saturday is fifty-two, so a little chilly, but clear weather. I was hoping rain would kind of roll in there. I I think Wisconsin, they're like 103rd, 178th, 80 in all of their top offensive metrics. Their defense is 17th, 20, 37th, 24. And meanwhile, USC's defense is 63rd, 109th, 32nd. eighty, but their offense is top fifteen basically in the country and everything. I think we're staring at another remake of Penn State, Wisconsin, where it's close for a half, but Wisconsin's defense can't stop USC's offense in the second half. Siman, do you see anything in particular from this game? Simeon Schlicher: No. I think three is is the right on the spread here and I think you can go as far to say this might be an upset. But again, it's at seven Micaiah: Wincancine Simeon Schlicher: thirty, so who knows, I might be in bed. Micaiah: Wisconsin is also really terrible at hanging on to the football because they are a hundred and twenty first in the FBS in time of possession. So the more work you give Jaden Mayava and Lincoln Riley, the work the better. Simeon Schlicher: Also don't me don't forget that they're leading rushers, they're quarterback. Micaiah: Who? Wisconsin? Yeah. Never a good sign. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. That's never a good sign. Just ask the giants. Sick burn. Micaiah: All right. After week seven wild and wild and wacky, Robert, you your top t twelve, your bracket has got to change entirely, basically. So why don't you take us through it? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, so number one, I have Miami. Since they they have not lost, it's kind of the only really thing you can do with them. number two, I'm putting Ohio State at two. I know the AP does not, they want to put BYU at two, but I'm gonna put Ohio State at two, which I guess really they if I want to be honest, and then the C FP rules like Ohio State has to go back to like fifty because their quarterbacks hurt now. So they shouldn't even be in the playoffs, apparently. But I digress. number three, BYU. Number four. Micaiah: By the way, Robert, I have Ohio State one in my official rankings, so that's fine. I Roberto Con Queso: Does that change at all with Sane being hurt? Simeon Schlicher: I know, we're doing official rankings now. Micaiah: so I so I gave them credit for this past weekend's win, but if they look bad on offense this coming weekend or whenever they play well next because they have a buy or not as good, then yes, I would drop them from that. But I I think it's credit for the work they did, not few I don't really look too much until the end of the season for future stuff. So that's just me personally. Roberto Con Queso: number four I have Georgia. I mean they lost. It was a bad loss, but I still think they're better than number five, which is Notre Dame. number six. Micaiah: I would agree with that. Roberto Con Queso: Number six, I'm throwing Ole Miss in the ring. Micaiah: Don't hate that. Roberto Con Queso: Number seven, I have Indiana. Number eight, Texas Tech. Nine. No wait. Or why the eight? Whatever number's next. Tex I put Texas Tech, Utah. There we go. Micaiah: There you go. Three big twelve schools. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Then I got UCLA, which should be ten. Kentucky would be eleven. And then number twelve is Boise State. Micaiah: the only one I'm gonna and I picked a fight with AP as well is UCLA. Again, you I have now data of what UCLA looks like with their backup quarterback. It's not great. but I have to respect their six and So I'm not going to Yeah, I'm not gonna fight you over it, but Roberto Con Queso: That's and that's the whole thing is UCLA a top ten team? Absolutely not. You know, they they're just not, you know, especially with a backup quarterback. Tennessee, but again, these rankings, they work themselves out. As we just saw last Micaiah: Yep, for sure. Roberto Con Queso: week. Texas was number one three weeks ago. Yeah, Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. You drop Texas and Alabama out of it. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: you know, so Alabama loses two in a row, Texas loses two in a row, sh out you go. Simeon Schlicher: Bah. Micaiah: Yeah, no real big contention here. It changes from week to week, and that's why I love doing it. and as Simeon would say, the fans are just adoring this ranking every single week. Did I do it right, Samin? All right, all right, great. Robert, our mostly Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, mounted. I like it actually. Micaiah: college football, all college football fantasy team. Did we get a win? Nah. Roberto Con Queso: No. No. Well, we had most of the team was on a bye and then Micaiah: Didn't play. Okay. Roberto Con Queso: also the Damon Williams might have been the worst person you could have ever have chosen. He Micaiah: Yeah, clearly. Roberto Con Queso: he got a zero. Micaiah: Nah. He I don't think he played. Roberto Con Queso: No. So we got zero. Simeon Schlicher: Disappointed. Imagine the when I'm naked. Micaiah: And he's always so cool. Whenever I answer this, I'm always so full of hope. I'm like, 'cause I I don't know. He has the app, right? I have no idea. I don't ask Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Micaiah: him. I'm always so full. I'm like, we can get a win. And he's always like, Absolutely not. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, except for when Jeremiah Smith is on the other team. You know, let me put prime Patrick Mahomes in on a on the opposite fantasy team. You're he's gonna beat you half the week half the week. Roberto Con Queso: Hey, I they won won we won once. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, hey, we'll take it. But listen, Micaiah: Yeah. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: better than I'm doing in fantasy. That's all I'm saying. Roberto Con Queso: Well Micaiah: Ooh, that that's that's real bad. Simeon Schlicher: I am getting my butt beat. Like like our like our new ad. Like the new Micaiah: We pause pause. Simeon Schlicher: ad to our funny names list. Micaiah: The new ad to yes. Okay. The new ad to the funny names wit list is Sebastian Cheeks from Wisconsin. Simeon Schlicher: See? Transitions. I got Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: Can I just so so Simeon Schlicher: I worked I worked with I worked with the Bill Cheeks. Micaiah: so che so Cheeks is the last name. You can't do anything about that. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Micaiah: The problem I have is when parents go for a unique first name and they just mess like like Clev Lubin. Come Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Seb. Seb cheeks. Yeah. Micaiah: on. Clev Simeon Schlicher: Well, my favorite is you nicknamed a kid booby and your last name is Feaster. He's beat he's he's eaten those tatas. Micaiah: Chaz Nimrod, every single because I forget that he's on Auburn and I don't watch that much of Auburn football, but I'm watching Auburn football and complete outside out there on the side to Chaz Nimrod. my god. Like every single complete to Nimrod, complete to Nimrod. Stop. Simeon Schlicher: It's rough. It's rough. Micaiah: Every single time. Simeon Schlicher: You're a Nimrod, Gus Johnson. All right. Highest lowest. Micaiah: Okay, we're we're gonna so soon we're gonna have a public dispute with that should have been my most embarrass my embarrassment of the week. You call yourself big noon kickoff but can't even kick the game off at noon. You gotta kick off at twelve fifteen. I and I kid you not, LSU Simeon Schlicher: You know what actually hold on. Micaiah: and Mississippi State was eight minutes deep into the first quarter by the time they kicked off. Simeon Schlicher: Here's the most embarrassing moment. Last week, someone of a member of this podcast brought a nice Micaiah: You probably. Roberto Con Queso: it's gotta be me. Simeon Schlicher: hyperbole to show how bad Oregon was playing. He defined Roberto Con Queso: Yes. Simeon Schlicher: he defined it as a quote, school shooting took place. Oregon took a bunch of shotguns and shot themselves in the foot. Two Micaiah: Yeah, it was great. Simeon Schlicher: days later, a tragedy happened in Bend, Oregon, where an actual school shooting took place. Micaiah: Yeah, not a great look. Immediately. Immediately not Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, no. No, it was it was pretty bad. Micaiah: yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Doesn't show up for his own podcast, speaks a school shooting into existence. Which one's worst? Micaiah: Okay. Okay. Simeon Schlicher: All I'm saying. our thoughts and prayers are with that family who Roberto Con Queso: I have I am not included in that entire thing. Simeon Schlicher: I'm just saying. Micaiah: Robert's like, I am just here. Roberto Con Queso: Nope. Nope. You wanna if it if the fans wanna get mad at me, be mad at me for p football. Not that one. not me. Micaiah: I I will let everyone know that in the group chat, the podcast group chat, halfway through Saturday day and the whole the whole carnage happening, all we get is a text from Robert that says, We're gonna get canceled Tuesday based on what I'm gonna say. So Listen. Simeon Schlicher: So far I'm waiting. I'm waiting. Roberto Con Queso: Listen, all I can say is mainly it a lot of this rant is about Ohio State. And it's just because pound your chest all you want But who was the last running back for Ohio State that was good? Micaiah: J. K. Dobbins. Roberto Con Queso: You had the you you say Jake O'MaZ I was like, okay, yeah, I didn't even think about him. I my mind Micaiah: But still eight years ago. Roberto Con Queso: right. The most laughable thing is watching, well, the Zeke's who came to my mind is watching Ohio State try and run the ball against a good team. For all the talent in the world that you have. How can you not run the ball effectively? It's amazing. You have five stars everywhere. Your best player is a freak of nature wide receiver, and your coach is like, What would be really sweetish if we didn't throw him the ball at all? Jokes on you, Signetti. And you just try and run it with Bo Jackson, who gets three yards, or he gets like a 15-yard run and gets called back because your offensive guards and tackles can't figure out what's going on because you're getting beat off the line the entire time. Yeah, okay, hostile fans. Go ahead and get all pissy with me about it because I'm a Michigan fan. Good for you. Well, guess what? When you play like dog shit, sorry for the language, but it's coming out now. When you play like dog shit, you're gonna hear it. It is what it is. You're not God's greatest talents on the football field. You're behind Indiana. I mean, you beat him this week. Congratulations. You lost your quarterback in the long term. You have a a washed up offensive coordinator who couldn't cut it in the NFL. Thanks because he ruined the Pittsburgh. Awesome. Thanks, guys. Like, it's incredible. Like, just the fac the arrogance of Ohio State fans to sit there and pound their chest about how great they are because they wanted to trademark the word the dumb. Like, it's so stupid. Chime. Simeon Schlicher: Worked out. Micaiah: Again, Ohio State fans, why are you arguing with Roberto Con Queso: Shime. Micaiah: me? why are you arguing with me that our Arthur Smith i i is good and the and the play and the game plan was good? Arthur Smith has a history of doing this, or did no one play fantasy and draft Kyle Pitts when he was there? Like, does everyone just forget that he had weapons in Atlanta? And he just decided to again, a little crude. Jerk off with his weapons in Atlanta and just not throw any of them the ball. So we're not shocked. Simeon kind of called this when he got hired that that was a bad hire, and he's kind of masked it because up until this point, he he's done a pretty good job. But when your star wide receiver, the greatest wide receiver to ever play college football, or will be at the end of his tenure in Columbus, has eight targets. Zero on the first three drives and the eight targets for the game is the third lowest on the season. He had more targets against Ball State, Iowa, and Texas. And don't tell me that they that Indiana double teamed it. What did you think? What Texas was doing. Like honestly, answer that question. Texas was double teaming him too, but the game plan was so much better. So stop with the we're invincible, and all of our coaches are just better than your coaches. Cause it nothing lasts forever. And though and the everyone not getting on you now because we're jealous, and I am, of your success over the last 20 to 25 years. When the downfall comes, I'm gonna stand there and laugh because this is the start of it. Get rid of Arthur Smith and get a running game and get your head out of your ass. All right. Highest ticket, low Robert, you got me going then. I I didn't expect I Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: didn't expect you to get going. All right, rant over a highest ticket, lowest ticket. Roberto Con Queso: Houston, Utah. Two thirteen. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Because the game's in Utah. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: Then lowest ticket. I have the eight dollar one. Is that the one you have? There's two eight dollars one. UTSA at Tulane. Again, Tulane Roberto Con Queso: Do you want to an I have eight there was two eight dollar ones. Yeah. And Missouri State, Delaware. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, again, 'cause Tulane has the same issue that Houston does, apparently. I think my son Micaiah: Yeah, if it was at Houston probably stadium wouldn't be Simeon Schlicher: is trying to invade Iraq, probably unsuccessfully, just like us. that was Afghanistan, but my bad. Micaiah: Jeez. Roberto Con Queso: Damn it. Micaiah: All right. Your games that no one, that they, whoever they are, don't want you to watch. Simeon Schlicher: You know what I love about this is two of them were in the toilet bowl. I picked two toilet bowl games. And I picked one of them sp Micaiah: Yeah, Yeah, okay, yeah. All right. Epi episod episodes I'm here counter is at one now. Roberto Con Queso: Ha ha. Simeon Schlicher: After two, I get an apology. Micaiah: After two you get an apology. That is correct. Simeon Schlicher: okay, so Kent State Akron just for kicks and giggles. Honestly, probably gonna be much like the Micaiah: Is that on Wednesday? Simeon Schlicher: I think so. I don't even let me look. Thurs no wait, hold on. No, it's not. It's not. Same Houston State, yeah, Micaiah: Okay, it's on Saturday. Okay. Simeon Schlicher: it's on is on side. I think it's a one PM. I think we're at Mac at one PM again. that's just for fun. NC State Stanford. Micaiah: Yeah, okay. Simeon Schlicher: And then Duke UVA. And we're not giving reasons, they're just games they don't want you to watch. Micaiah: that should be pretty entertaining. The Duke Virginia game, I'll give it to you. Everything else, yank my eyelids out one by one. All right, games a week to watch on your couch. Everyone know this section is brought to you by our great sponsors over there at Kindred Couches. Everyone knows that a college sports fan's best friend is a confid couch. Well, at Kindred Couches, they have a huge selection of couches and sectionals and pretty much. Other they have chairs too. I saw a few chairs on there at least. They got lamps. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: They got lamps now. They're doing a little bit of everything. There's just I I stopped by the other day, talked to Nathaniel. They're getting into movement, which apparently in the furniture biz means recliners and like stuff that slides in and slides out. Yeah. And like sleepers. Micaiah: Okay. All right. Simeon Schlicher: There you go. Yeah. Robert loves a good sleeper couch. Micaiah: So please go check them out. Roberto Con Queso: Brother Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: they have everything you need. you need something big for a lot of people. Kindred couches have got it. Simeon Schlicher: For the people who haven't bought a couch yet. Micaiah: Yes. That that that is correct. I know where I'm going when I need my next couch. I've sat on their products in different people's houses that we know. All great products. Please go check them out. All right. We are going to start with a game in the Big Ten and it is Iowa and Minnesota. Normally when I envision Iowa and Minnesota playing, they there's snow coming down. It is cold, it is thirty degrees. They are both two and one in the Big Ten. Simeon Schlicher: Okay. Micaiah: They have both beat beat Michigan, that is still not good enough to put them on a network and they have to play on FS1. Iowa is starting their backup quarterback now. and their starting quarterback to start the season is now their backup. Robert, you're just Simeon Schlicher: Unlike Michigan. Micaiah: you're running away with it right now. You're six games ahead of me in second. Who you got? Roberto Con Queso: I got Iowa. I Minnesota just doesn't have anything for Simeon Schlicher: That doesn't make sense. He's six games ahead of you. You're six games ahead of me. That makes him twelve games ahead. I can't do math. Yes it does. That's how math works. Gimme Iowa. Gimme the Hawkeyes. Micaiah: Saman, can you type in Robert's picks? Simeon Schlicher: of course I can. Micaiah: I'm also I I'm just gonna go with the sweep. I'm just gonna hunt behind Robert until the final three weeks and then just take everything every game he's not. my goodness he can type. Ladies and gentlemen. Simeon Schlicher: look, he's in the Google Doc this s this week. He knows how to use a keyboard. Roberto Con Queso: No, I I never had I never had access. Yeah, now I do. Micaiah: Editor act. Okay, all right. So Robert can now take care of his own picks. Wonderful. Roberto Con Queso: There should be some wild shit. Simeon Schlicher: Finally. Micaiah: Okay. Eastern Michigan, Ohio. This is for tops in the Mac that no one wants to pay attention to because it's the Mac. Robert, who you got? Roberto Con Queso: I am going with the real Ohio football school. So I'm going Ohio. Simeon Schlicher: I must Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: have going Ohio. Go Bobcats. Micaiah: I'm going to go with Eastern Michigan here, just for kicks and giggles, because Robert, it worked out so well for you that one time. So I'm gonna go Roberto Con Queso: Yo, amen. Micaiah: with Eastern Michigan. By the way, it's three and one Eastern Michigan in the Mac and three and in the Mac, Ohio. So that's why this game is on there as well. The next game on the docket is Clemson and Virginia Tech. Clemson hanging out right there in like fourth position in the ACC. Virginia Tech again can make some noise. Who you got? Roberto Con Queso: Talking to me. Yeah, buddy. Micaiah: I am talking to you. Un until Simeon Schlicher: I Micaiah: you're in second, I'm always talking to you first. Roberto Con Queso: okay. I am going with the Clemson Tigers. Pizza Party Simeon Schlicher: Do we know what Roberto Con Queso: time. Simeon Schlicher: do we know what his record was last week? Micaiah: he was he was like we all had losing records, but I think he was like three and five and we were two and four. Something like that. Simeon Schlicher: Dang, okay, cool. What's the with the pizza party, Robert? Roberto Con Queso: Dabo pizza party time. Simeon Schlicher: give me VT. I just think he's washed up. Micaiah: I'm I am going to take Clemson on the road because I don't know. Dabbo just hangs in there until season's end every single year. The big prime time game, at least on ABC, and at least that Kirk Kirk Street and Chris Fowler will be calling. Old Miss Ann Texas. Who you got, Rob? Roberto Con Queso: I'm going with Ole Miss. I have zero trust in Sark and that Texas offense. Micaiah: I am right there with you as well. six is better than sixteen. And that's the quarterback number. I trust the old miss offense more than I trust the Texas offense, but I trust the Texas defense more than the Ole Miss defense. But give me the better offense in this case. So give me old miss. Simeon. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, I'll miss too. I just I don't know. They didn't trend the right direction last year when they ha ran into issues. Micaiah: All right, USC Wisconsin. We previewed this game. Lincoln Riley going two time zones over. Historically not great. Got that monkey off his back there in Happy Valley. Now he's going to jump around Camp Randall. Robert. Roberto Con Queso: I am going with a close Wisconsin upset. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: same. Micaiah: Okay, I am I'm going with the better again, the better offense. I see this game in the first half. Absolutely, I see this a game all the way through, but give me kind of the unstoppable force that is the USC offense right now to get enough points and their defense to get enough stops against an anemic Wisconsin's offense Wisconsin offense. Houston and Utah would be the game of the day if they didn't decide to put it. Hey, there he is. There's a little man if he didn't decide to put it. Roberto Con Queso: Whoa. Micaiah: on ten PM on ESPN. What's up, Warren? Welcome to your future, bud. He can't hear me. Simeon Schlicher: He he can't hear you. Can you say hi? Can you say hi? Micaiah: Hi. he yeah, he did not like that. Roberto Con Queso: that face looks petrified. no Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. I know. After Micaiah: Robert, Houston, Utah, who who you got? Roberto Con Queso: I have taken the Houston Cougars. Simeon Schlicher: Ooh, cougars. Micaiah: Same in, who you got? Simeon Schlicher: Cougars, gimme Houston. Micaiah: give me the mighty Utah student section and that two quarterback system at home to Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: get things going. North Dakota State and New Mexico in the battle in the mountain west. Roberto Con Queso: I'm gonna ride high with the bison. You mean North Dakota State? Simeon Schlicher: Same bison. Micaiah: I added this one late. I'm also going with North Dakota State, but the game I added late was Wyoming and Air Force. Both of these teams are three and one in the Mountain West, so right behind these other two and still in top cut top contention. Northwestern five and one. Wyoming four and three. Robert. Roberto Con Queso: Air Force They're just gonna hold on to that ball. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, they just gon wrong. They gon wrong. Give me Air Force. Yeah. Falcons. Micaiah: Tim, and you're rolling with Air Force. I'm also rolling with Air Force. They will complete zero passes and run for nine million yards. All right, Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: the toilet bowl segment. We didn't really know what we were doing last week with it. Well, I have determined. Simeon Schlicher: So dumb. So dumb, guys. Why are we I get it's a toilet Roberto Con Queso: Ha ha ha. Simeon Schlicher: bowl. It is so difficult. Roberto Con Queso: It is very difficult. Micaiah: What we are doing is instead of picking the game of the week, we are picking the Toilet Bowls, which is pre which has the caveat both teams have to have losing records either overall or andor in conference. So all of these games are they're all losers basically in conference. You have to pick the loser of the game. And if they lose the game, you get two points. And you get the points added up at the end of the year, and we put that on your overall record at the end of the year. So Robert, you could go from a commanding lead to an absolute just blowout. Simeon, you can come back. Makaiah will still suck. Okay. Simeon Schlicher: What do you think, Maureen? Okay. Micaiah: So man, North Carolina State and Stanford, who is your loser in this game? Simeon Schlicher: North Carolina State and Stamford. the loser is North Carolina State. Micaiah: Okay. Robert. Roberto Con Queso: Stanford. Micaiah: Okay, I'm gonna go with North Carolina State as well, just cause Stanford's the home team. And Simeon, you should have put this in your games they don't want you to watch, cause West Virginia TCU, take the over. A million points are gonna be scored in this game. So, Simeon Schlicher: For real. For real. Micaiah: who you got Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: in the in the loser in this? Simeon Schlicher: West Virginia. I have to look at my notes Micaiah: Okay. So West Virginia Simeon Schlicher: because it's so confusing. Micaiah: Robert Roberto Con Queso: TCU. Micaiah: I'm also going with TCU. West Virginia got a big win at home. I also trust their offense a little bit more based on what I've seen from TCU. Akron and Kent State in the absolute toilet bowl. Both of these teams have losing records and are Simeon Schlicher: this is again this This is the toiletist of the toilet bowls. Micaiah: sorry, Dr. Kevin Curden, you studied or teach at both of these schools. Simeon Schlicher: If it was it'd probably be better if it was soccer or like lacrosse or something. Micaiah: It absolutely would. Simeon Schlicher: sorry, 'cause I'm in the toilet, so I pick first. I forgot about that. Give me Akron. Wait, they're gonna lose, right? So I'm picking the winner. Yes, I want Kent State to win. Micaiah: You're picking the l no, you're picking the loser. Roberto Con Queso: No, you're picking the loser. Simeon Schlicher: I think Ken State's gonna win, so therefore Akron. Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. I'm going Kent State. Micaiah: I'm also going Kent State. I'm just I'm I'm never gonna bet against Akron if I don't have to. except when I do. Boston Boston College, Georgia Tech. Simeon Schlicher: Boston College. Roberto Con Queso: Give me Georgia Tech. Micaiah: I am going to go with the loser is BC. So BC is the loser in this gun. Hawaii won one game all year, traveling to Northern Illinois, loser in this game. Simeon Schlicher: I'm glad I picked them not knowing who they were travelling to. Gimme gimme Hawaii. Roberto Con Queso: That's what I took. That's a long flight. Micaiah: And I also took and Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, that's a very long flight. And this is a conference game, ladies and gentlemen. Cause we Micaiah: I also took Hawaii because based on the long flight. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Yes. Simeon Schlicher: thought it was smart to put Hawaii in the same conference as frickin' New York City, apparently. Micaiah: northern Illinois, but okay. air nope, sorry s Simeon Schlicher: Does do you think you think those you think those seven hundred and fifty miles matter to these guys? Micaiah: Probably not. Sacks state and ball state as long as no one gets a blood clot. Simeon Schlicher: Nice. Sa I'm picking the loser Sacramento. Micaiah: Loser. Simeon Schlicher: I'm changing my my pick here. Roberto Con Queso: Sacramento State. Micaiah: Sack State is the probably the worst team in the FBS if we're if everyone's being on Simeon Schlicher: Wait. So I'm picking Ball State went to win by sax by picking Sacks State. The you're you're Okay. Sacramento State, yes. Micaiah: You're picking the loser of the game. Who is going to lose the game, Simeon? Okay. Roberto Con Queso: Correct. man, one time you're on this podcast in three weeks and it's all over the place. Simeon Schlicher: Listen, I'm gonna fr I listen, it made no sense last week, it's gonna make no sense to me next week. Micaiah: You know what? At this point, just put your headphones on your kid because he might have better chance of picking your games than you do. I'm also rolling with Sack State worst team. Kansas State, Arizona State. Simeon Schlicher: G gimme Kansas State. I don't know. I like Kenny Daley Ham. I don't know, dude. Micaiah: I'm gonna roll with Arizona State to lose to lose this game. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: I have Arizona State as well. Simeon Schlicher: Here, do you want to Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: do the outro? Micaiah: are we Hello Warren? How are ya? no. Roberto Con Queso: Hi, Warren. Micaiah: Everyone, this is Roberto Con Queso: That's a nice marker you have there. Micaiah: he is locked Simeon Schlicher: How big more? Micaiah: into the marker. Roberto Con Queso: He is. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: All right. That's gonna do it for us here at Mostly College Football. Go ahead and remember to wash your hands, you filthy animals. If you are a twin, practice your twin tuition, because it could save your life one day. We'll see y'all next week. I hope everyone has a wild and wacky weekend, just like college football. God bless and peace out.
