- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm here, Hey everybody, Welcome back to another episode of
- 0:49Speaker 1: the Tailgate, brought to you by Ticketmaster. I am the
- 0:52Speaker 1: host of the show cy Onminton, and joining me is
- 0:56Speaker 1: the co host of the show, the Great Chad Daniels
- 0:58Speaker 1: and Chatty.
- 0:59Speaker 3: D Hello, boy, oh boy.
- 1:03Speaker 2: What a difference a week can make.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you. You know, we talk about it all
- 1:07Speaker 3: the time. We're not a review show, but I would
- 1:09Speaker 3: just like to spend the next half hour reviewing the
- 1:12Speaker 3: beauty of that last game. I know we can't, but yikes,
- 1:16Speaker 3: what a difference a week makes is completely completely true.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Got some people back, got some people that were replacing
- 1:26Speaker 3: the people that we're out that are still making great plays.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I'm telling you it's looking up.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It's looking up.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And I talked to a lot of people last week
- 1:38Speaker 1: going into the Lions game that were basically on Armageddon
- 1:43Speaker 1: Wall Rush. The O'Connell run to this point has been
- 1:47Speaker 1: so successful and has you know, I don't know that
- 1:50Speaker 1: in the team's eyes they look at it this way,
- 1:52Speaker 1: but from a national media and a fan standpoint, they
- 1:55Speaker 1: have overachieved kind of at every turn. I think when
- 1:59Speaker 1: they had that big year with Kirk, I don't think
- 2:01Speaker 1: anyone saw him doing that. When they lost Kirk and
- 2:03Speaker 1: they brought Dobs in and they were starting Mullins, I
- 2:05Speaker 1: don't think anyone saw him succeeding in any way. Yet
- 2:09Speaker 1: they had that crazy Atlanta game in a little run
- 2:11Speaker 1: when Darnald came here and JJ gets hurt. No one
- 2:14Speaker 1: sees that coming.
- 2:15Speaker 3: So well, that's not true. I actually did see it coming.
- 2:18Speaker 3: But it's fine.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I think this was the first time that there was
- 2:22Speaker 1: the fan base was faced with it not going not
- 2:26Speaker 1: just the way they hoped it had but better than
- 2:28Speaker 1: the way they hoped it had. And man, I had
- 2:30Speaker 1: some friends on ledges and to come out and see
- 2:35Speaker 1: the team respond, it's almost like they played to prove
- 2:42Speaker 1: all that worry wrong. And I know that's not how
- 2:44Speaker 1: it works, but like everything that people worried about or
- 2:49Speaker 1: complained to me got flipped.
- 2:51Speaker 2: On its head in that last game.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and that feels really good to walk forward from that.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I agree. I mean, I have a friend who is
- 2:58Speaker 3: a comedian that lives in Detroit, and we we made
- 3:02Speaker 3: a side bet on some promotional things and he goes,
- 3:07Speaker 3: all right, nine point five points is the spread, so
- 3:10Speaker 3: that's what you get, and I go. I looked him
- 3:12Speaker 3: right in the face, and I go, you keep those points.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I don't need them, not this week.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So basically what you bet is it's like one of
- 3:19Speaker 1: those things where mayors are like, if we win, i'll
- 3:22Speaker 1: wear your jersey. But you guys bet promoting each other's
- 3:25Speaker 1: stand up material.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, our shows, promoting shows. When I go
- 3:31Speaker 3: to Detroit, now he has to promote for an entire
- 3:34Speaker 3: week stories on all his stuff.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And that is the guy who was on this show
- 3:38Speaker 1: last week. No, Zach Martin. Oh, it's not the great
- 3:41Speaker 1: Zach Martinez. Who else do we know that's a Detroit.
- 3:43Speaker 3: For Well, this is actually so I say, from Detroit,
- 3:46Speaker 3: but actually from across the state in Grand Rapids. But
- 3:49Speaker 3: I'm not gonna I'm not gonna show.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh oh, I know who we're talking about.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Okay, let's shift to the Ravens, right, and let me
- 3:56Speaker 1: give you Let's start this out with I think arguably
- 4:00Speaker 1: the weirdest stat in Viking history. I know that's dramatic.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I know you think I'm over the top, but let
- 4:07Speaker 1: me lay it down for you.
- 4:08Speaker 3: You are.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Okay, the Vikings have played the Baltimore Ravens seven times. Okay,
- 4:15Speaker 1: they have won three of those games. In those three
- 4:21Speaker 1: seasons that they won those three games every single time
- 4:26Speaker 1: they went to the NFC Championship.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Interesting, they have lost four times.
- 4:34Speaker 1: In the four seasons in which they lost those four times.
- 4:38Speaker 1: At the end of the year, the head coach was
- 4:41Speaker 1: relieved of its duties. Oh so every time we play
- 4:46Speaker 1: the Ravens, just historically, Yeah, we either go to the
- 4:52Speaker 1: NFC Championship or we fire our coach and Chad, can
- 4:55Speaker 1: I tell you something?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Uh huh, God, damn, I don't see us f firing
- 5:00Speaker 2: last year's coach of the Year. So I think whatever
- 5:04Speaker 2: we felt.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Against the Lions, it feels good.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Pump pump, pump it up. I think we're going to
- 5:11Speaker 2: the moon.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I this is what we in the business call a trend,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and I would love to hop on this trend.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I've already hopped on the trend. I can't wait. I'll
- 5:21Speaker 3: see you guys at the NFC Championship game. I will
- 5:24Speaker 3: be there. Yeah, I'm excited to watch that game. I'm
- 5:29Speaker 3: excited to watch them win. I'm excited to watch them
- 5:31Speaker 3: continue to win. But the fact is so, Lamar Jackson
- 5:35Speaker 3: is back.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson is back.
- 5:37Speaker 3: He's very good, which which, by the way, I got
- 5:39Speaker 3: to tell you something. I feel like I feel like
- 5:42Speaker 3: I could be a GM because I when he got injured,
- 5:45Speaker 3: I said, you have to have a quarterback that can
- 5:48Speaker 3: move because this offense is based on a running quarterback.
- 5:53Speaker 3: It doesn't work for the quarterback to sit back in
- 5:56Speaker 3: the pocket. This particular offense. The first week they had
- 6:00Speaker 3: a pocket passer, guy got murder murdered. Second week they
- 6:03Speaker 3: found somebody that could move. They win. So anyways, I'm
- 6:08Speaker 3: up for GM. No big deal.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Can I tell you something that I'm very competent in. Yeah,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I think you might be. Though you could, you would
- 6:14Speaker 1: probably be the worst GM in the history of professional sports.
- 6:18Speaker 3: That's not true at all, because I Hey, you want
- 6:21Speaker 3: a GM that plays with his mind and not his heart, Well, nice, try, loser.
- 6:27Speaker 3: I'm in there every day making decisions based on my relationships,
- 6:31Speaker 3: based on my love of the game. I use my
- 6:35Speaker 3: brain zero percent of the time.
- 6:36Speaker 2: You're leading with your heart. You're a GM that leads
- 6:39Speaker 2: with his heart.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Speaking of leading with a body part, Hey, you want
- 6:43Speaker 3: to tackle Derrick Henry, watch his belly button. He crops
- 6:47Speaker 3: his shirts. He makes it easy for you. I'm saying,
- 6:51Speaker 3: the body can't go where the belly button isn't going.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Quit trying to tackle people on their shoulders. Look at
- 6:58Speaker 3: their belly Button's.
- 7:00Speaker 2: That's a football thing.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I had a coach that was a real Bobby Knight
- 7:05Speaker 1: type when I was younger.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Is throwing chairs, all right.
- 7:09Speaker 1: The main thing that I took from him was he said,
- 7:12Speaker 1: watch the stomach. The body can't go anywhere without the stomach.
- 7:17Speaker 1: The stomach never lies.
- 7:19Speaker 3: And actually what also happens is then the player that
- 7:23Speaker 3: you're guarding starts to freak out because they're like, hey,
- 7:26Speaker 3: why do you keep looking at my belly button? And
- 7:28Speaker 3: they're out of their game. Now. It's like a head game,
- 7:30Speaker 3: but it works. But all I'm saying is you can't
- 7:33Speaker 3: go high on Derrick Henry. He's gonna grab your helmet
- 7:36Speaker 3: and he's gonna push your face into the ground. You
- 7:39Speaker 3: gotta tackle his belly button.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It'll be a really good test, and I think there
- 7:43Speaker 1: is something significantly leaning in our favor given what we
- 7:48Speaker 1: saw in the Lions game. But I want to come
- 7:50Speaker 1: back to that because I do you know, we do
- 7:52Speaker 1: a little bit of history on this show, and this
- 7:56Speaker 1: matchup also has one of my in addition to a crazy'stat,
- 8:00Speaker 1: one of my favorite history moments. I was at Hilarities
- 8:04Speaker 1: in Cleveland, sure for a week of shows, the Great
- 8:07Speaker 1: Hilarities opening for the Great Jake Johansen's this pretty early
- 8:11Speaker 1: in my career, uh huh, And I sat at a
- 8:14Speaker 1: bar all by myself and watched the twenty thirteen Ravens
- 8:19Speaker 1: Vikings game and if you recall, we lost it. But
- 8:21Speaker 1: that was that absurd game where there was such horrible
- 8:26Speaker 1: snow that the field crew had to plow the field
- 8:30Speaker 1: at halftime, and in the last like two minutes of
- 8:35Speaker 1: that game, everything goes nuts. Two minutes and seven seconds left,
- 8:40Speaker 1: Dennis Pitta scores a touchdown, the Ravens take the lead.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Then Boom, Vikings get the ball back. Two plays later,
- 8:48Speaker 1: Blast from the Past Toby Gerhardt Toby gearharts forty.
- 8:54Speaker 2: One yards for a touchdown.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Ravens get the ball back, run the kickoff back for
- 8:59Speaker 1: a touchdown. They retake the lead. Then Corderyl Patterson scores
- 9:03Speaker 1: on a seventy nine yard touchdown pass for the Vikings.
- 9:06Speaker 1: They take the lead, and then Marlon Brown scores on
- 9:09Speaker 1: a nine yard touchdown with only nine seconds left. The
- 9:11Speaker 1: Ravens win probably And I don't I haven't seen every
- 9:16Speaker 1: football game in the history of football.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I don't have that roll.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Of Dex like our friend Alex Schubert.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But yeah, that has to be about the craziest two
- 9:25Speaker 1: minutes in the history of professional football. And it was
- 9:27Speaker 1: in the snow. Guys were sliding, guys were diving.
- 9:30Speaker 3: That's what made those plays possible, is that in the snow,
- 9:34Speaker 3: once you get going forward, it is so hard because
- 9:37Speaker 3: nobody can catch you, because everybody's trying to cut and
- 9:40Speaker 3: make up ground on you. Now you say this is
- 9:43Speaker 3: the greatest professional game probably in the snow, I'm gonna
- 9:46Speaker 3: throw one little amateur at you. Nineteen ninety one Cleveland
- 9:51Speaker 3: Elementary School field. I remember a Fritz Skinner going to
- 9:55Speaker 3: Sam Skinner for ninety nine yard touchdown, and then I
- 9:58Speaker 3: remember immediately Eric Johnson throwing a bomb to excuse me,
- 10:01Speaker 3: but yours truly in the snow, high stepping in my
- 10:05Speaker 3: sore l boots for the touchdown for the win.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Now, I'm not saying it was the greatest professional snow
- 10:11Speaker 1: game of all time. I think people get really mad
- 10:13Speaker 1: at me for that. I'm just saying it was the
- 10:15Speaker 1: most It's in the conversation for craziest two minutes.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, crazy is two minutes, no doubt.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Before we go to break here and then come back
- 10:23Speaker 1: to talk about a little bit about Baltimore and about
- 10:26Speaker 1: the matchup. Can we just take a pause since he
- 10:30Speaker 1: came up in this memory for me and talk about
- 10:34Speaker 1: Cordero Patterson that game, he gets five receptions, one hundred
- 10:38Speaker 1: and forty one yards and a touchdown.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I was thinking about him the other day.
- 10:44Speaker 1: What an interesting, amazing career where most I think it
- 10:49Speaker 1: was tough to come to our team, a team that
- 10:53Speaker 1: we were the team of a mad Rashad and the
- 10:56Speaker 1: team of Chris Carter and the team of Randy Moss.
- 10:59Speaker 1: So you think of why receivers in a very specific way.
- 11:02Speaker 1: And he came into the league and not only was
- 11:06Speaker 1: he not that type of guy, but he was so
- 11:09Speaker 1: before his time in terms of positionless football. It didn't
- 11:13Speaker 1: really catch the way it should have. I mean, he
- 11:17Speaker 1: goes on, he sets the NFL record for kick returns. Right,
- 11:20Speaker 1: he's like a four time All Pro. He wins, he
- 11:22Speaker 1: goes and he wins a Super Bowl with Bill Belichick,
- 11:26Speaker 1: And you can't be dumb and play for Bill Belichick.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You gotta be a hell of a football player with
- 11:30Speaker 1: a big old football.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Brain, right of course.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And then he has this amazing second act to his
- 11:36Speaker 1: career where he gets to Atlanta and they go, you're
- 11:38Speaker 1: a running back, and then everybody goes, oh, man, he's
- 11:41Speaker 1: so good at running back.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I just in retrospect, he's probably the most underdiscussed unique vite.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Him and Percy Harvin are kind of like the great
- 11:54Speaker 1: what ifs for me if they'd have been in a
- 11:57Speaker 1: different time period or gotten to do what they did
- 12:00Speaker 1: late early.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Patterson is the faith no More of football, right, Faith
- 12:05Speaker 3: no More? What is it? It's it. They were Limp
- 12:10Speaker 3: Biscuit before Limp Biscuit, but nobody knew where to put them,
- 12:13Speaker 3: and so they didn't get the notoriety that they should
- 12:16Speaker 3: have gotten. And then Limp Biscuit goes on with Fred
- 12:19Speaker 3: Durst to like smash its and you're like, from my generation,
- 12:23Speaker 3: you go, this is a faith no More ripoff. And
- 12:26Speaker 3: so that's the same way I feel about Patterson. Sometimes
- 12:29Speaker 3: people get to the level they want to get to
- 12:33Speaker 3: just a little bit too early, and nobody knows where
- 12:36Speaker 3: to put them.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Imagine, yeah, that's a great point.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Imagine if Cordero Patterson, if you handed him to Kyle
- 12:44Speaker 1: Shanahan the same year that Kyle Shanahan got Deebo Samuel. Sure,
- 12:50Speaker 1: You're like, oh, a giant Deebo Samuel, m hmm.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Huge.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Cordero heads on this show, chat Ny, we got to
- 12:57Speaker 1: talk about the game your faith football team. Man, coming
- 13:03Speaker 1: off a big win, and let me tell you coming
- 13:05Speaker 1: off the Lions win, Chad, I know I know very
- 13:09Speaker 1: little about professional football from.
- 13:11Speaker 2: An understanding it standpoint.
- 13:13Speaker 1: We discussed that pretty much every week but what I've
- 13:16Speaker 1: been told by people that I think are very smart
- 13:20Speaker 1: is the Lions play a lot of man coverage. Okay,
- 13:26Speaker 1: and JJ McCarthy, who, by the way, let's just let's
- 13:30Speaker 1: start right there and then I'll come back to this.
- 13:32Speaker 1: One of my favorite things about that Lions game and
- 13:34Speaker 1: what I'm really looking forward to in this Ravens game.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And I know it sounds so simple, but because we
- 13:40Speaker 1: work for the team, Because I work for a team,
- 13:42Speaker 1: a lot of the people I talk to during the
- 13:43Speaker 1: game are in the building, right they're there, so they're
- 13:46Speaker 1: experiencing the game in this in person way and they
- 13:49Speaker 1: don't get to see it on TV. And I was
- 13:52Speaker 1: telling him just he just looked so competent and confident,
- 13:57Speaker 1: like he looked in complete command of the hut. I'm
- 14:00Speaker 1: not saying there weren't mistakes, but you didn't see a
- 14:04Speaker 1: rattle behind his eyes.
- 14:06Speaker 3: And they didn't get compounded. That's I think that's the
- 14:08Speaker 3: huge difference.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Well, and you didn't, like, you know, he's a really
- 14:11Speaker 1: good raw, raw guy, but you also didn't even really
- 14:14Speaker 1: see that during the game. You just saw a quarterback
- 14:17Speaker 1: who went out there, got the plays in, did what
- 14:19Speaker 1: he was supposed to do, had good moments, had some
- 14:22Speaker 1: not good moments, but really controlled the game as a
- 14:25Speaker 1: signal caller in this body language, confident way. And for
- 14:31Speaker 1: me after the first two games like that put me
- 14:33Speaker 1: through the roof. I know that's simply simple and silly,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but it put me through the roof.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you can say simpy. People are gonna
- 14:40Speaker 3: know what that means.
- 14:41Speaker 2: He simpy and silly.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Baby, I'm going to tell you what I loved. He
- 14:43Speaker 3: scores a touchdown right, gets into the end zone, and
- 14:46Speaker 3: then he breaks out the gritty because we got to
- 14:48Speaker 3: cramped up JJ on the sidelines. Just a little shout out.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I think that's good leadership. I think it's It looked
- 14:55Speaker 3: like while his ankle was being mended, it looked like
- 14:59Speaker 3: they just hooked him up to the matrix and uploaded
- 15:02Speaker 3: him with everything, And it was so fun where you
- 15:07Speaker 3: as a Vikings fan to go. This was what my
- 15:10Speaker 3: brain was telling me. This is what we saw, this
- 15:14Speaker 3: is what we heard, this is what we know it
- 15:17Speaker 3: can be right. This is an entire game of the
- 15:21Speaker 3: fourth quarter of the Bears game. It's an entire wire to.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Wire and it felt like I'm not here to say
- 15:26Speaker 1: it was the greatest performance in the history of football.
- 15:29Speaker 1: But it felt like what I think a good rookie
- 15:31Speaker 1: quarterback should feel like, which is enticing.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Right, and we because you're never gonna be able to
- 15:37Speaker 3: put your finger on the greatest, the greatest performance in
- 15:40Speaker 3: football because that happened at the Cleveland Elementary School in
- 15:44Speaker 3: nineteen ninety one. Now I'm jacked up about it. I
- 15:48Speaker 3: think that this matchup you're talking about Manda Man with
- 15:52Speaker 3: the Lions, Ravens go man to.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Man, Ravens go Manda Man.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So that's what I'm saying, Like, I mean, what's so
- 15:59Speaker 1: interesting to me is, you know, the Bears, per my
- 16:03Speaker 1: understanding disguise a lot of stuff on defense. Lions are
- 16:07Speaker 1: man demand JJ looks really comfortable. We get another man
- 16:09Speaker 1: to man get a little comfortable there and then and
- 16:12Speaker 1: we're only talking about the Ravens, but I want to
- 16:14Speaker 1: jump into the future a little bit. What a fun
- 16:16Speaker 1: opportunity that is off in the distance where after the
- 16:20Speaker 1: Ravens it's the Bears, and you get to have this
- 16:23Speaker 1: side by side comparison of this guy, like here's what
- 16:27Speaker 1: happened Week one with this team. Now here's what it
- 16:30Speaker 1: looks like Week whatever with this team. And oh, by
- 16:32Speaker 1: the way, it's inarguable that the Bears are trending the
- 16:36Speaker 1: right direction. So it's an even harder version of what
- 16:39Speaker 1: you saw earlier. And I think the Ravens, because of
- 16:42Speaker 1: what you said, present an opportunity to keep stepping in
- 16:47Speaker 1: the right direction. And as a fan base, after the
- 16:50Speaker 1: way everybody was feeling, man, that's the number one thing
- 16:54Speaker 1: that has me looking forward to this game.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's going to be an exciting game,
- 16:58Speaker 3: and I mean I'm already with my predictions.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Well I want to talk about everybody talks about JJ.
- 17:05Speaker 1: But the couple things that I think are important crazy
- 17:10Speaker 1: O line combinations right here. So everybody recognized now that
- 17:13Speaker 1: the on line is getting healthy for the most part
- 17:16Speaker 1: without Kelly, that they really looked the part. I thought
- 17:19Speaker 1: it was super interesting to get Aaron Jones back healthy.
- 17:23Speaker 1: With the on line healthy, it's a good defensive line
- 17:26Speaker 1: for the Lions. And when the Vikings went, what if
- 17:30Speaker 1: we just ran it right into the teeth of what
- 17:32Speaker 1: you think you're good at and they're popping seven eight,
- 17:35Speaker 1: nine thirty one yards, very very fun.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Jordan Mason we all know is an unbelievable runner. Aaron
- 17:43Speaker 3: Jones is a different kind of runner. And when we
- 17:47Speaker 3: have two basically starting running backs that have different styles,
- 17:52Speaker 3: it is tough to keep an eye on all of it.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And can I throw since we're in a positive mood,
- 17:57Speaker 1: can I throw something on the positive pile for you you.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I don't know what Pro Football Focus in their dumb
- 18:03Speaker 1: grading system says. I don't know what the guys on
- 18:06Speaker 1: Twitter who frees a picture and then tell you why
- 18:08Speaker 1: someone screwed up are saying. I don't know what anybody thinks.
- 18:13Speaker 1: But I think and I believe, Donovan Jackson isn't just
- 18:19Speaker 1: like a stud in the making. This dude is a
- 18:22Speaker 1: super stud in the making. If he's as good as
- 18:25Speaker 1: I think he might be with Dari Sabin, as.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Good as he is.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Other man, all this talk about O line these last
- 18:34Speaker 1: few buckle up, buck If this dude looks as good
- 18:40Speaker 1: as I believe he looks, and keeps progressing in this way,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I think the O line is going to get like
- 18:47Speaker 1: for the first time since Stucy and Randall McDaniel and
- 18:52Speaker 1: Corey String Like I'm talking ninety eight, two thousand and
- 18:56Speaker 1: nine with Lodhold and you know, all these guys Hutchinson
- 19:01Speaker 1: and McKinney.
- 19:02Speaker 2: But I'm going even further than that.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think this line has ninety eight potential and everybody's
- 19:08Speaker 1: gonna get mad at me and send me messages. But
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm in love with Donovan Jackson's ball game, and I
- 19:15Speaker 1: think it's going the right direction on.
- 19:17Speaker 3: This is what I'm talking about with everything is what
- 19:21Speaker 3: we thought at the beginning of the year. Right, we
- 19:25Speaker 3: got defensive guys coming back, we got a running back
- 19:28Speaker 3: coming back, we got a quarterback coming back. We got
- 19:30Speaker 3: our O line looking healthy and finally stepping up to
- 19:34Speaker 3: the potential. Oh heavens, this is what happens. I get
- 19:38Speaker 3: jacked up.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Let's do the last one. Then let's do the last one.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Well, we're basically handing out midweek game balls, and but
- 19:46Speaker 1: they're not like performance game balls. They're just we're happy
- 19:48Speaker 1: to have you back, game balls. Thank you for being here.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Game balls, dude. Let's talk about the Gink. Yes, let's
- 19:55Speaker 1: talk about old Andy Van Gink.
- 19:58Speaker 3: He is my he's my prediction, he's my player prediction.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear it, and we'll do it
- 20:04Speaker 1: right off this. I think he is this unique combination
- 20:08Speaker 1: of like if Brian Flores could build a guy for
- 20:13Speaker 1: a role, he would build like he's like, that's the
- 20:15Speaker 1: exact guy. He's exactly what the coach needs for the
- 20:19Speaker 1: exact role. And then he's a very, very very skilled athlete.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And then I just think his football brain operates at
- 20:27Speaker 1: a different level than everyone else.
- 20:29Speaker 3: When you watch him, he's connecting the dots very quickly.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You just can't knock down that many balls and not
- 20:38Speaker 1: be so incredibly football intelligent. You know, Hardgrave had a
- 20:42Speaker 1: good game. Cashman at a game. Eric Wilson was incredible.
- 20:45Speaker 1: But I think having that dude out there doing all
- 20:49Speaker 1: the right things and making all the right reads with
- 20:52Speaker 1: all that athleticism, I think it just breathed this almost
- 20:57Speaker 1: leash into everybody else to let them shout out to
- 21:00Speaker 1: all the defense who came on and go so but
- 21:02Speaker 1: that is what I'm pumped about. We're coming against a
- 21:05Speaker 1: running quarterback, like seeing Van Ginkel get another week with
- 21:09Speaker 1: this defense. It's like you said, are we going to
- 21:11Speaker 1: get what we thought we were going to get quite
- 21:13Speaker 1: a while ago? We are who we thought we are,
- 21:16Speaker 1: who we thought we are, chatty Daddy or I thought
- 21:19Speaker 1: we were.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Give me, let's do predictions.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Okay, we're doing game prediction. Yeah, we're doing player prediction,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and then we're doing Chad prediction because I believe is
- 21:29Speaker 1: this a home game?
- 21:30Speaker 2: It is, and I believe you will be there.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I will not, unfortunately.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but what so, here's what I love game prediction.
- 21:38Speaker 3: It's tough because Lamar Jackson is back, yes, and uh,
- 21:43Speaker 3: he just does turn the team into something different. Anytime
- 21:48Speaker 3: you have two running backs basically back there, but one
- 21:52Speaker 3: of them can throw the ball ninety yards, it does
- 21:55Speaker 3: change things. And so unfortunately this week I have to
- 22:00Speaker 3: go Baltimore Ravens twenty four, Minnesota Vikings seven hundred and eighteen.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Okay, that's a little closer than I thought you would
- 22:10Speaker 1: have it. Yeah, I just don't I know he's back.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I've got Baltimore at seventeen. Okay, Vikings at one hundred
- 22:18Speaker 1: and twenty seven.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, who.
- 22:20Speaker 2: You got for player?
- 22:21Speaker 3: Well, player, I'm going the Van gank. You're going ganky,
- 22:24Speaker 3: So I'm gonna I'm gonna break it down in a
- 22:25Speaker 3: little different way though. I'm gonna go, uh, three tackles
- 22:30Speaker 3: for loss and then I'm going either sack or pick.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Okay, one of the two, So a lot of a
- 22:38Speaker 1: lot of impact plays.
- 22:39Speaker 3: He's going to be in the backfield. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 22:41Speaker 3: gonna be in the backfield quite a bit.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I'm gonna go that.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think I think we're on the verge of one
- 22:47Speaker 1: of those justin Jefferson moments.
- 22:49Speaker 2: M hm, where we go, Oh my god?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Did he just catch fifteen balls for one hundred and
- 22:53Speaker 1: ninety some yards and a few touchdowns?
- 22:55Speaker 2: I said a few? A few touchdowns. That's three, you see,
- 22:59Speaker 2: it's a few. And so that is what I'm going with.
- 23:03Speaker 2: What's your Chad prediction?
- 23:05Speaker 3: Chad prediction is you're not going to be able to
- 23:07Speaker 3: wear your Minnesota Frost stuff to this game. I understand
- 23:11Speaker 3: it's purple. I understand they've won the only two Cups
- 23:15Speaker 3: in professional women's hockey. You can't wear it this game
- 23:19Speaker 3: because the Ravens are also purple. So I'm predicting a
- 23:23Speaker 3: lot more Vikings wear at this game.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And I'm going to predict that a lot of how
- 23:32Speaker 1: I behave on next week's program will ride on whether
- 23:36Speaker 1: or not the joy and emotions of what happened this
- 23:39Speaker 1: previous week can continue.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Am I teetering because of other stuff going on? In
- 23:44Speaker 2: my life. Maybe, Chad, maybe and I need Oh.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Hey, so I'm surprised they didn't put spoiler alert in
- 23:51Speaker 3: or something like that. Of course you're teetering. I've never
- 23:54Speaker 3: known you not to be teetering. What are you doing?
- 23:56Speaker 2: I'm the Teeter King.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, which, by the way, I've seen that movie and
- 24:02Speaker 3: it's different.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So thank you to everybody for joining from the Teeter
- 24:05Speaker 1: King and his teeter Queen Chad Daniels. We hope you
- 24:09Speaker 1: guys have a great game and we will see you
- 24:12Speaker 1: next week. Oh by the way, if you're listening on
- 24:16Speaker 1: the podcast app, thank you so much. We love that
