- 0:00Speaker 1: $ 500 up for grabs coming up at 8.05-ish this morning.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hang on for that. It's Cubby and Christine, producer Kristen.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm looking up the definition of intellectual. I mean, we
- 0:11Speaker 1: kind of already know what it is. But the official
- 0:13Speaker 1: definition of intellectual means something relating to the ability to think, reason,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and understand ideas. Or a person who spends their time
- 0:22Speaker 1: studying and thinking about complex subjects.
- 0:25Speaker 2: With that said.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Where are the intellectual cities, Christine? Are we in one
- 0:30Speaker 2: of them?
- 0:31Speaker 3: We are in one of them. One of the top 10.
- 0:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:34Speaker 2: In the U.S.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yes. Of the most intellectual cities, according to this study.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And a lot of it is based on us having
- 0:43Speaker 3: deep conversations.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Like us as in New Yorkers? New Jersey.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yes. So not just that, you know, we're surrounded by
- 0:50Speaker 3: great colleges and hospitals and museums and libraries. But like,
- 0:55Speaker 3: do we actually sit and discuss these things? And survey
- 0:59Speaker 3: says number one on the list is Boston, Massachusetts.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:03Speaker 3: For the Smarties.
- 1:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:05Speaker 2: A little bit of a rival here.
- 1:06Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I thought this is not going to sit well with us.
- 1:08Speaker 2: At least it's close by.
- 1:09Speaker 3: It's okay. Yeah. And listening in coffee shops, that sort
- 1:14Speaker 3: of thing. That's how this study was done. What are
- 1:16Speaker 3: people discussing? So Boston came up followed by Hartford, Connecticut.
- 1:20Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:21Speaker 2: All good schools around those areas, too.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that has a lot to do with it, too.
- 1:24Speaker 3: San Francisco is third on the list, followed by Providence,
- 1:27Speaker 3: Rhode Island, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- 1:30Speaker 2: A lot of Northeast so far, except for San Francisco.
- 1:32Speaker 3: We'll take it. San Jose, California is number six, number seven, Portland, Oregon.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Number eight, New York City.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Intellectual City.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Followed by Richmond, Virginia. Yeah. Paul Cubby Bright.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Wow, two hours from where I grew up.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I grew up in Virginia Beach, so I'll take it.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, not bad. And Washington, D.C. rounds out the top 10. Now,
- 1:52Speaker 3: do you want to do the least intellectual? And again,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I am simply reading a list. This is not my decision.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I have probably lived in all these places.
- 2:00Speaker 3: No, I just don't want to insult anybody.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I'm the reason the poll went down.
- 2:03Speaker 3: All right, here we go. Number one, Riverside, California.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Somebody might be tuned in on the iHeartRadio app in Riverside, California.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Sorry about that.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Not me. Not me. Not judging. Fresno came in second.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Fresno.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Las Vegas.
- 2:16Speaker 2: A lot of West Coast.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah. I know.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Wow. You're really making the West Coast mad.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Las Vegas, followed by Houston, Texas.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I did live there.
- 2:25Speaker 3: But you moved.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Not intellectual.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You moved. And Phoenix, Arizona for the top five. Least intellectual.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Very interesting how it really is West, like way West.
- 2:36Speaker 1: They didn't bring up a Florida thing. They didn't bring
- 2:38Speaker 1: up anything on the East Coast is not intellectual. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: a lot of smart people on the Eastern Seaboard.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah. And we'll take that.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We got to keep it going.
- 2:45Speaker 1: But sometimes you're with your partner and you realize, you
- 2:48Speaker 1: know what?
- 2:49Speaker 2: I've known this partner for a long time. They're dumb.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Oh.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that come up next. I'm
- 2:54Speaker 1: not talking about my wife. I'm talking about just in general.
- 2:56Speaker 3: In general, of course.
- 2:57Speaker 1: At what point did you find out that your partner
- 3:00Speaker 1: may not have it all intellectually? We will talk about
- 3:04Speaker 1: that coming up at 7.05, a very funny article that
- 3:06Speaker 1: we've been reading.
- 3:07Speaker 2: What do you have coming up in the news, Christine?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Let's check out the headlines. And ladies, apparently we can't
- 3:11Speaker 3: wear leggings.
