- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Almost Famous podcast. I'm here, and
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm here with an incredible co host. She's a special guest,
- 0:14Speaker 2: a friend of the podcast, been on so many times
- 0:16Speaker 2: that I can't even count, And the star of this
- 0:19Speaker 2: recent season of The Perfect Match, Rachel Rekia, was with
- 0:23Speaker 2: me today. Hello Rachel, Hi Ben.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I don't know if I would say star star, especially
- 0:28Speaker 3: with the entrance I had.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You're a star. You're a very big star on the show.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You are a reason that people tuned in and watched.
- 0:37Speaker 2: You are a reason, if not the reason that we're
- 0:40Speaker 2: even talking about it here on the Almost Famous podcast.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So millions a free press coming to Perfect Match based
- 0:50Speaker 2: on you being a part of the show.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I know, me and Clayton are really just bringing in
- 0:55Speaker 3: the masses. Yeah, and everyone who's not a part of
- 0:58Speaker 3: atchination gets to now know about that. So now more
- 1:02Speaker 3: of the world can go look up the rest ceremony
- 1:05Speaker 3: from hell on you two and be a part of
- 1:07Speaker 3: it with us. So that's exciting.
- 1:10Speaker 2: We did take a break from breaking down Perfect Match.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We had some huge Bachelor news coming in along with
- 1:17Speaker 2: obviously summer travels, So when I was in Italy, I
- 1:22Speaker 2: finished the perfect match and then got back and we
- 1:26Speaker 2: plan on today to kind of recap from episode five
- 1:30Speaker 2: to the end of the season with you, Rachel. But
- 1:33Speaker 2: before we get going, there has been some big news
- 1:36Speaker 2: in Bachelor Nation. We have a new bachelorette announced. Taylor
- 1:40Speaker 2: Frankie Paul was announced last week as the upcoming season's bachelorette.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We'd love to get your reactions, your thoughts, your opinions.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I was shocked, right, It's so crazy. They never like
- 1:55Speaker 3: have done anything like this before. Obviously so happy for her,
- 1:59Speaker 3: like I think she's going to give us a great season.
- 2:01Speaker 3: But it's just funny because I feel like as people
- 2:06Speaker 3: who are in the Bachelor world and as people who
- 2:08Speaker 3: are chosen to be leads, it's like, I feel like
- 2:11Speaker 3: we have this standard to live up to in this
- 2:14Speaker 3: like pressure to be perfect, and I feel like Taylor
- 2:17Speaker 3: is just so herself and she's so like already out
- 2:20Speaker 3: there like that she isn't perfect. So it'll be interesting
- 2:24Speaker 3: how the world reacts going in already knowing that versus
- 2:28Speaker 3: like watching us fall from grace during the season. But
- 2:32Speaker 3: yeh know, it'll be interesting. I think especially like where
- 2:35Speaker 3: are they going to be filming it? Like are the
- 2:37Speaker 3: kids going to be involved? I'm excited to see all
- 2:40Speaker 3: that goes into that.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Do you think Bachelor Nation is going to receive for
- 2:44Speaker 2: Will I don't know.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I hope so, but it just feels like for us
- 2:49Speaker 3: or I don't know how you feel. Everyone I've talked
- 2:51Speaker 3: to recently from the Bachelor world, especially like coming off
- 2:55Speaker 3: of Perfect Match, where I think contestants on those shows
- 2:58Speaker 3: like have more freedom to themselves. Bachelor people feel so
- 3:02Speaker 3: like under pressure to constantly be perfect. I don't know
- 3:06Speaker 3: if you feel that way, And I think she's just
- 3:09Speaker 3: coming in you know so herself.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I mean my tagline for the season was the perfect Ben,
- 3:14Speaker 2: So yes, I think I did feel that pressure.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So it'll be interesting because I feel like some of
- 3:19Speaker 3: bachlination does expect that, right, But maybe this brings in
- 3:23Speaker 3: a new audience, new generation.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It's been a very polarizing announcement based on Taylor's past,
- 3:32Speaker 2: her decision making, obviously her you know record. I am
- 3:40Speaker 2: intrigued to watch it from Afar to see how Bachelor
- 3:44Speaker 2: Nation reacts to it. I do think for her sake
- 3:48Speaker 2: and I want to get your advice if she ever listens.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I do think for her sake, there is a benefit
- 3:54Speaker 2: to going in already having a platform built on not
- 3:58Speaker 2: being perfect and having a lot of mistakes along the way,
- 4:04Speaker 2: because she won't have to kind of have those dark
- 4:09Speaker 2: nights sitting in your hotel room once the cameras go down,
- 4:12Speaker 2: being like what am I doing?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Hot?
- 4:14Speaker 2: Why did I do that? She can kind of be free,
- 4:18Speaker 2: which I think will make it more enjoyable for her.
- 4:21Speaker 2: But I'd love to get your advice, bachelorette to bachelorette
- 4:25Speaker 2: on how she can do this well. And still I'm
- 4:29Speaker 2: going to still say it because I think it's still
- 4:32Speaker 2: the reason the show exists. Could still find love at
- 4:36Speaker 2: the end of this.
- 4:38Speaker 3: I mean I always say this, but I'm not the
- 4:41Speaker 3: person for advice, Like I'm probably the just do the
- 4:43Speaker 3: opposite of what I did, and I think she will
- 4:46Speaker 3: because I think I was a bachelorette that came from
- 4:48Speaker 3: a place of like I was so afraid to mess
- 4:51Speaker 3: up and make mistakes, and I don't feel like I
- 4:54Speaker 3: was really being myself. So I think, if anything, I
- 4:56Speaker 3: could take advice from her in that way. But I
- 5:00Speaker 3: I guess the only thing is, like I'm interested to
- 5:02Speaker 3: see how she responds to the men not knowing what
- 5:05Speaker 3: it's like to be in their position. I think as
- 5:07Speaker 3: a lead when they would come up to me and say, no,
- 5:10Speaker 3: but you don't understand what I'm going through, and I'm
- 5:12Speaker 3: be like, yes, I do.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I feel like that was such a moment to connect
- 5:17Speaker 3: with them and let them know that I've been there before.
- 5:20Speaker 3: So it'll be interesting because in a lot of ways,
- 5:23Speaker 3: these guys do have to step up for her. I mean,
- 5:26Speaker 3: she is a mother, and she you know, lives in Utah.
- 5:29Speaker 3: She has things that she's not going to change, so
- 5:32Speaker 3: I think she needs to remember to relate back to them,
- 5:35Speaker 3: and I think she will, So I'm excited to see
- 5:37Speaker 3: how she handles that.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you think she will. I think it's going to
- 5:42Speaker 2: be really hard for her too, You think so, I do.
- 5:45Speaker 2: She doesn't get it. I mean, I think that is
- 5:47Speaker 2: you said. And this isn't a knock on her or
- 5:51Speaker 2: a critique of her. I think other people and I
- 5:54Speaker 2: think we've heard the critiques of her, but a critique
- 5:58Speaker 2: of her would not be that, hey, she's not gonna
- 6:00Speaker 2: get it. It's just the truth. She doesn't understand this
- 6:03Speaker 2: world and you're right. The thing that helped me the
- 6:07Speaker 2: most was to pull back to a place of empathy
- 6:11Speaker 2: and relatability, because there is this initial when you're the lead.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I think people have watched you on television, so there
- 6:18Speaker 2: is a little bit of that initial star power. It
- 6:20Speaker 2: only gonna last more than a night when people are
- 6:23Speaker 2: nervous and they're anxious, and you can kind of have
- 6:26Speaker 2: be calm because you've been through it and say, no,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I get it, I understand this. I understand why you're nervous.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I understand why you're saying weird stuff. I understand why
- 6:34Speaker 2: you drink more than you probably should have on night
- 6:36Speaker 2: one because you were trying to calm everything going on
- 6:39Speaker 2: in your body. She won't get that, right, And I
- 6:42Speaker 2: think that is a huge benefit to being the lead
- 6:44Speaker 2: is you can understand that, right.
- 6:46Speaker 3: And like, I mean, I'm sure in her real life
- 6:48Speaker 3: she has dated, you know, probably more than one person
- 6:51Speaker 3: at the same time, like I haven't, y'all. But I
- 6:55Speaker 3: think coming into the Bachelor like really having to figure
- 7:00Speaker 3: out a place in your brain that you can compartmentalize
- 7:03Speaker 3: each and every relationship and give it the time it deserves.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Without having known that, like you could be on the
- 7:09Speaker 3: other side of that, or what it looks like to
- 7:11Speaker 3: be patient and knowing that it's possible to have multiple connections.
- 7:15Speaker 3: It'll be so interesting to watch from that point of
- 7:18Speaker 3: view as well, like can she do that, can she
- 7:21Speaker 3: take her mind off the guy she really likes? Or
- 7:25Speaker 3: I don't know, we'll see. I'm very excited it'll be
- 7:27Speaker 3: a good season.
- 7:28Speaker 2: It will be a good season. I feel personally like
- 7:30Speaker 2: it was the Bachelor trying to hit a home run,
- 7:33Speaker 2: and if the home run falls short, I am going
- 7:36Speaker 2: to be very intrigued with how they move forward from
- 7:39Speaker 2: this season. If it isn't the successful season they think
- 7:42Speaker 2: it's going to be, They're gonna put a lot behind it.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I think they're laying all their chips on the table
- 7:48Speaker 2: and they pick Taylor Frankie Paul to be the lead
- 7:53Speaker 2: of this season. Well, moving on from the Bachelor talk,
- 7:57Speaker 2: we do have the perfect match to break down. We're
- 7:59Speaker 2: going to start with episode five. Rachel, you lived it,
- 8:02Speaker 2: you were there.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I was there, and I'm trying to look up like, wait,
- 8:05Speaker 3: what happened to day?
- 8:07Speaker 2: So it starts with Sandy bringing in her ex from
- 8:10Speaker 2: the ultimatum JR. JR. Kind of then has it consistent
- 8:15Speaker 2: popping in and out for the rest of the season.
- 8:18Speaker 2: But this is the first time we get to know JR. Rachel,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't want to put you on the spot here
- 8:25Speaker 2: at all. You're co hosting this with me. But what
- 8:29Speaker 2: was your from a viewers perspective? For me? I watched JR.
- 8:34Speaker 2: And she kept saying he's a real man. He obviously is.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I don't know him well enough to say he's not,
- 8:39Speaker 2: you know, he's a grown man. I think was the
- 8:42Speaker 2: way she said it. He felt to me like he
- 8:46Speaker 2: tried to say all the right things at every moment
- 8:51Speaker 2: and it never really worked out for him. From him,
- 8:54Speaker 2: for him, Why wasn't more people interested in JR?
- 9:00Speaker 3: I think, I mean JR. When he first came in,
- 9:03Speaker 3: like obviously you're like, oh my goodness, he's so beautiful
- 9:06Speaker 3: and he is so kind and sweet. But I never
- 9:11Speaker 3: had a date with him. But from what I watched
- 9:13Speaker 3: back and from what I heard, I feel like he
- 9:14Speaker 3: maybe is a little forward, like jumping so far ahead,
- 9:19Speaker 3: but like his like time with Sandy's time with Justine,
- 9:22Speaker 3: like even in those little moments, it just feels like
- 9:25Speaker 3: he might be a little too sexual. And I think
- 9:28Speaker 3: for a woman like you want him to get to
- 9:30Speaker 3: know you a little or like have an interest in you,
- 9:34Speaker 3: And it felt like he went straight into kind of
- 9:36Speaker 3: maybe things that were a little bit too much. Yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 3: that's the vibe I got from the women who did
- 9:42Speaker 3: date him. I do like JR. But he definitely is
- 9:45Speaker 3: a lot.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, there's no like. He doesn't slow roll this
- 9:51Speaker 2: at all.
- 9:51Speaker 3: He's zero to one hundred.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think it probably mean he is a
- 9:57Speaker 2: very beautiful man. I'm sure it works for him. I
- 10:00Speaker 2: don't know if it's the way to find love, right,
- 10:03Speaker 2: but I'm sure it works for you know, a good
- 10:06Speaker 2: night out on the town every once in a while.
- 10:09Speaker 3: And yeah, because Jar's been married actually yeah, yeah, so
- 10:13Speaker 3: he you know, I think he had that part in
- 10:16Speaker 3: his life already where he's settled down. Maybe now this
- 10:19Speaker 3: is where he's more care free and like living that
- 10:23Speaker 3: like younger life. I don't know, He's interesting, for sure,
- 10:28Speaker 3: He's a character.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Was there ever a moment that I'm going to try
- 10:33Speaker 2: to pull out during this breakdown? Because we do have
- 10:35Speaker 2: so many episodes of breakdown, like the interesting things that
- 10:38Speaker 2: I think listeners will be so curious about asking you
- 10:41Speaker 2: and talking through with you from being there, But was
- 10:45Speaker 2: there ever a moment where you actually were worried that
- 10:47Speaker 2: Ad would jump ship and move on?
- 10:51Speaker 3: So it's really really hard looking back now because Ad
- 10:55Speaker 3: and Allie are so happy. They have a baby on the.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Way and they're still together.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Right, They're still together and they're engaged, Like their love
- 11:03Speaker 3: story is truly like amazing, and I was so happy
- 11:06Speaker 3: to get to see it. So looking back, of course,
- 11:09Speaker 3: my mind always goes to, like, no, there was no
- 11:12Speaker 3: way she was going to jump shit. But that morning
- 11:15Speaker 3: before me and her went on a date, I remember
- 11:17Speaker 3: she was like, I would be open, and this is
- 11:21Speaker 3: so early and I would like to see who else's here.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So I think in the moment, yeah, she probably was open.
- 11:26Speaker 3: But looking back and knowing that they're engaged now, like
- 11:29Speaker 3: she probably, you know, wasn't She probably knew that Ali
- 11:32Speaker 3: was the one. But that morning, yeah, she seemed open
- 11:35Speaker 3: before we went out up date.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I actually felt watching it that she was open
- 11:42Speaker 2: at the beginning of the day, especially after seeing him,
- 11:44Speaker 2: But then there was kind of a moment where I
- 11:46Speaker 2: felt like she got uncomfortable. I don't know if that's true,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I would assume, so yeah, I think she was. He
- 11:52Speaker 2: was like saying some stuff and she was like like, huh,
- 11:55Speaker 2: Like that's cute, and I'm glad you're talking about like
- 11:57Speaker 2: liking watching me from behind walking like that's a nice
- 12:01Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah. And when he got back to the house, I
- 12:04Speaker 3: can't remember if it was in the episode or not,
- 12:07Speaker 3: but he sat down and we were all talking about
- 12:09Speaker 3: our dates, and during his recap to the group of
- 12:12Speaker 3: what they did, he was like, oh, you know, Ad
- 12:15Speaker 3: like has and tits and we were like everyone was
- 12:19Speaker 3: so shocked. Like Ollie was right next to him, like
- 12:22Speaker 3: he is so forward. So I think Ad appreciates that
- 12:26Speaker 3: a little bit, but maybe not like on the first date.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Right, yeah, sure, how did How does how do you handle?
- 12:32Speaker 2: This bachelor? Is so different? But how do you handle
- 12:38Speaker 2: being with somebody? Say you're in Allie's position, h You're
- 12:43Speaker 2: sitting there hearing this, and I think Ali has a
- 12:45Speaker 2: little bit in his heart of like, this is my girl,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and you're starting to build that feeling of like, no,
- 12:52Speaker 2: I'm protecting this girl. This girl is with me, and
- 12:55Speaker 2: he's hearing this guy talk about her like that, Like
- 12:59Speaker 2: how do you hold?
- 13:01Speaker 3: He was very well behaved that night, especially because I
- 13:05Speaker 3: mean the boys were very overprotective and you know, they
- 13:11Speaker 3: were guarding what was there. So I think what Ad
- 13:14Speaker 3: was looking for going into that day was seeing if
- 13:16Speaker 3: Ollie could behave and be patient with her and not
- 13:19Speaker 3: freak out. So I think he knew he was being
- 13:22Speaker 3: tested and he did pass.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So Okay, well this moves us into the work.
- 13:29Speaker 3: That poll competition, Oh yeah, that was so fun.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, tell us about it. I mean I felt like
- 13:35Speaker 2: it was probably a failed competition. Honestly, it felt so
- 13:39Speaker 2: hard that it wasn't doing what the show hoped it did,
- 13:43Speaker 2: meaning it just felt like it lasted a long time.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Nobody was really that good at it. But walk us
- 13:48Speaker 2: through this challenge because if anything, it was creative.
- 13:53Speaker 3: It was so much fun. And this was the first
- 13:56Speaker 3: time I actually got to do a challenge on a
- 13:59Speaker 3: reality show. I was in the kissing challenge the before, right,
- 14:02Speaker 3: but that just felt like Bachelor. I'm like, this is
- 14:05Speaker 3: the first time I actually got to do like a
- 14:06Speaker 3: survivor challenge. And for me, all I could think about
- 14:11Speaker 3: was like, don't fall into the water. And so I
- 14:14Speaker 3: think a lot of the girls were just like holding
- 14:17Speaker 3: on for dear life and the boys were trying to
- 14:19Speaker 3: move the platform and it was so heavy and just
- 14:24Speaker 3: the aero dynamics of it just fell off. It felt
- 14:27Speaker 3: like a lot of work just to get a couple
- 14:29Speaker 3: of the balls out, maybe the holes like we're a
- 14:31Speaker 3: little too small. But actually Louis was so good at it.
- 14:36Speaker 3: He figured it out in like ten seconds and then
- 14:39Speaker 3: he just jumped off the platform.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Why was that, I don't know.
- 14:43Speaker 3: He he goes, I want to go in the water,
- 14:45Speaker 3: and he jumps off, and Sandy was just sitting up there.
- 14:50Speaker 3: But then yeah, Daniel and Lucy ended up figuring it out,
- 14:52Speaker 3: but everyone else it was so difficult. It really was hard.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Do you like We just got done with the Bachelor
- 15:10Speaker 2: and Paradise reunion show last week? We went at to
- 15:14Speaker 2: LA and talked all the couples that are together, and
- 15:17Speaker 2: then we got to talk to Wells and kind of explained.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Wells was talking about the competition side of Paradise this
- 15:23Speaker 2: year and how he actually would love to keep that.
- 15:26Speaker 2: There's other things I think in the season that he
- 15:28Speaker 2: would say, hey, we could go without or we could
- 15:29Speaker 2: change it up now, but the competition side, it felt
- 15:33Speaker 2: like every cast member and including Wells, were really in
- 15:36Speaker 2: favor of it. Did you like them the challenges? Yeah?
- 15:41Speaker 3: I think the challenges bring something to that relationship. I
- 15:46Speaker 3: think you bond really quick and you get to have
- 15:48Speaker 3: something that you do together because I just met Scott
- 15:54Speaker 3: going into that challenge the night before and so doing
- 15:57Speaker 3: that together it kind of bonds you. It was a
- 16:00Speaker 3: lot of fun. I hope they keep it in Bachelor
- 16:03Speaker 3: compared us as well. I think it's a fun element,
- 16:07Speaker 3: like we do challenges on group dates during The Bachelor,
- 16:09Speaker 3: so bringing in something else kind of helped they.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Obviously you just mentioned Daniel and Lucy won this competition.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I had never seen the perfect match, but things change
- 16:20Speaker 2: at this moment for the first time, the boardroom no
- 16:22Speaker 2: longer is what we know as before. Nick explains that
- 16:27Speaker 2: what they get to do is they get to send
- 16:29Speaker 2: people from the two most compatible couples on dates, but
- 16:34Speaker 2: only one guy and one girl, and so the other
- 16:38Speaker 2: couple will be sent home the person and the other
- 16:42Speaker 2: couple will be sent home.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Big twist, yes, and a necessary one.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Wow.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I think the producers, because for I don't know, the
- 16:53Speaker 3: producing style for Perfect matches a lot less. It's very
- 16:57Speaker 3: hands off, like they kind of let us do whatever.
- 17:01Speaker 3: We want, And I think when they were in that position,
- 17:04Speaker 3: no one was switching, and no one switched all season really,
- 17:08Speaker 3: and they really kind of needed other people to have
- 17:10Speaker 3: the opportunity to come in the house or maybe have
- 17:14Speaker 3: other couples get to know people, and people were not
- 17:17Speaker 3: open or doing it. So I think that was kind
- 17:20Speaker 3: of something that they decided to do last minute because
- 17:23Speaker 3: it just needed something.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Is this common in the Perfect Match that people don't
- 17:28Speaker 2: skip around or.
- 17:30Speaker 3: They said it was in the beginning. They said the
- 17:33Speaker 3: season before that people weren't like recoupling, but I think
- 17:38Speaker 3: our season even less. So it'll be interesting how they
- 17:41Speaker 3: do season four.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it does seem like and it's the beauty of
- 17:47Speaker 2: a show like this. It actually was a big turning
- 17:49Speaker 2: point for me as a viewer. I started watching episode
- 17:52Speaker 2: one and I was like, this is hilarious. And I
- 17:54Speaker 2: think I said it to you the first time you're on.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I said, Rachel, i've seen the previews for this thing.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I don't know how you're going to do this well,
- 18:02Speaker 2: because I mean, if you're a somebody who's single and
- 18:06Speaker 2: just wants to get out there and make out with
- 18:07Speaker 2: a bunch of people and be on the beach with
- 18:10Speaker 2: a bunch of good looking people and flirt, flop around
- 18:14Speaker 2: and sleep in the bed and do anything you want
- 18:16Speaker 2: to do. This is the perfect show for you. And
- 18:18Speaker 2: it was for like five episodes it was that a
- 18:21Speaker 2: little bit.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Even then, yeah, barely, not at least not with different people.
- 18:26Speaker 3: The boys of course decide to like go off the
- 18:28Speaker 3: rails at some point, but for the most part it
- 18:32Speaker 3: was very like Coupled In, Locked In more so than
- 18:36Speaker 3: any show I've been on. So it was. Yeah, I
- 18:39Speaker 3: think if anything very like tame in a way like
- 18:45Speaker 3: it could have been a lot worse.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Do they want it? Do you feel like they want
- 18:48Speaker 2: it to be worse?
- 18:50Speaker 3: No? I don't think they want it to be worse,
- 18:51Speaker 3: but I think they want I mean, there is a
- 18:54Speaker 3: TV element of it, and I think as an audience,
- 18:58Speaker 3: like as a viewer, I would want to see if, oh,
- 19:00Speaker 3: if these people have a better connection, why don't they
- 19:03Speaker 3: switch or why don't they try to date other people?
- 19:05Speaker 3: But they don't. Everyone just kind of matches up. I
- 19:09Speaker 3: was the only one who's switching all season, so it's interesting. Yeah,
- 19:14Speaker 3: I think they wanted to see maybe some more people
- 19:16Speaker 3: go out of their comfort zone a little bit.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Well, you did mention you were a Scott at this point,
- 19:21Speaker 2: and you will say that you were switching all season?
- 19:24Speaker 2: Is that just because you didn't feel like you were
- 19:27Speaker 2: with somebody that you're that confident in.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I just feel like, for me, I know it's possible
- 19:34Speaker 3: to have multiple connections. So I was lucky in that.
- 19:38Speaker 3: But I guess because I came in late, I had
- 19:41Speaker 3: a bit of an advantage because Scott ended up going
- 19:46Speaker 3: to the pool party and I mean, we're jumping all over,
- 19:49Speaker 3: but like doing something that I didn't really want. When
- 19:52Speaker 3: I found out he lied to me the next morning,
- 19:54Speaker 3: there was still a moment where we were like, are
- 19:57Speaker 3: we going to rematch? But at the end of the day,
- 19:59Speaker 3: I was like, I don't need that, Like I haven't
- 20:01Speaker 3: been locked in with you since day one, so we
- 20:03Speaker 3: decided to split up. Whereas couples who were there from
- 20:07Speaker 3: day one, maybe they felt more bonded that they couldn't
- 20:09Speaker 3: do that. So I don't know. Maybe because I came
- 20:12Speaker 3: in late, what are you.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Doing on this show when you're not on in the villa?
- 20:17Speaker 3: Oh? Like when you come in late, so you it's
- 20:20Speaker 3: like paradise. I came in the day before and then
- 20:25Speaker 3: you're in the hotel. But I was only there for
- 20:27Speaker 3: a day because I went in. I was fortunate when
- 20:29Speaker 3: in the first day I got there basically, but yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 3: everyone hangs out at the hotel.
- 20:33Speaker 2: They got to go to the pool, no way.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, with the handler, they got to go to the pool,
- 20:38Speaker 3: go out to dinners. They were treated so well, you
- 20:41Speaker 3: get an iPad with Netflix.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Goodness, that's smart. Yeah. That was one of my favorite times.
- 20:47Speaker 2: When I was a contestant on The Bachelor at Nick
- 20:51Speaker 2: and Sean were doing their thing and fighting for like
- 20:53Speaker 2: a week, and the show pretty much pulled me out
- 20:55Speaker 2: and they said, how about you just take a little
- 20:57Speaker 2: side trip to this town with a handler where nobody's
- 21:00Speaker 2: going to know you're here, and just go out to
- 21:02Speaker 2: dinners and bars and pubs.
- 21:04Speaker 3: And have fun and you got special treatment. I did, Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 3: I never did.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It was awesome. I knew I was going home and
- 21:13Speaker 2: I was like, this is great. This is I'm getting
- 21:15Speaker 2: to see Eileen for the for the real deal, without
- 21:18Speaker 2: paying for it.
- 21:19Speaker 3: This is so nice, right, it's like ani vacation.
- 21:22Speaker 2: It is. Well, we're going to go into episode six now,
- 21:25Speaker 2: obviously we start with the boardroom and just explained what
- 21:28Speaker 2: the rules were for this boardroom. Nick comes out, you're
- 21:33Speaker 2: here at the villa at this point or the home
- 21:36Speaker 2: when it's explained kind of what's going to happen. Couple
- 21:39Speaker 2: are going to go on dates. The one doesn't get
- 21:41Speaker 2: chosen is actually going to be leaving the house. Mattison
- 21:45Speaker 2: is sitting on a date, Freddie has to go to
- 21:48Speaker 2: the house, and then also a d has to leave,
- 21:51Speaker 2: and Ali is going to go on a date some
- 21:55Speaker 2: emotional time. You just said it was necessary to switch
- 21:59Speaker 2: things up. What's the vibe in the house at this point?
- 22:02Speaker 3: I mean it was so sad, of course, like I'm
- 22:05Speaker 3: just saying necessary from a production point of view, being
- 22:08Speaker 3: in the house seeing a d leave was so sad.
- 22:12Speaker 3: She was distraught. Freddie like he did not want to
- 22:16Speaker 3: leave Madison. It was a rough vibe in the house
- 22:19Speaker 3: for sure, I of course didn't want this to happen,
- 22:22Speaker 3: but like I see why they did it.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah, were you? I mean there's like at this point
- 22:27Speaker 2: your friends you're consoling and it feels very helpless. I'm
- 22:30Speaker 2: sure in a lot of ways too, where you're like
- 22:32Speaker 2: you love this dude, you like this dude at this
- 22:34Speaker 2: point and You're just being forced to leave based on
- 22:38Speaker 2: somebody else's decision, not any decision that the couple has made, And.
- 22:42Speaker 3: We didn't know at the time if or when they
- 22:45Speaker 3: were coming back. Yeah, we were like, it could have
- 22:48Speaker 3: been a week, we could have recoupled and had challenges
- 22:50Speaker 3: with the new people, so we didn't know how long
- 22:53Speaker 3: it would be gone. It was. It was tough.
- 22:56Speaker 2: But Oli goes on a date with Justine from Love
- 22:58Speaker 2: Island and Olivia from Temptation Island. Madison goes on a
- 23:02Speaker 2: date with Jalen from Too Hot to Handle, and this
- 23:05Speaker 2: is where we get introduced to Ray from Love Island.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I can't tell Rachel watching it if it is just
- 23:12Speaker 2: the way the camera and the team works it. But
- 23:15Speaker 2: these dates always seem to go pretty well. We didn't
- 23:18Speaker 2: really have a date this season where I'm like, oh,
- 23:20Speaker 2: this isn't obvious, not gonna work out kind of scenario.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I was on edge every date that they might stay
- 23:25Speaker 2: with these people.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I know, I think, I mean, it's so much fun
- 23:30Speaker 3: and everyone wanted to give the people coming in a
- 23:33Speaker 3: chance a good time. But I think there is an
- 23:37Speaker 3: element of course, of like making it look like they're
- 23:40Speaker 3: not gonna go back to their original partner. But yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 3: the dates with Madison and Ollie for sure looked like
- 23:48Speaker 3: they could have been swayed.
- 23:52Speaker 2: When everybody comes back to the house, give us kind
- 23:55Speaker 2: of a sneak peek at what this is like when
- 23:57Speaker 2: you have new people in turn. Especially in this moment,
- 24:01Speaker 2: it does seem to go I don't know if it
- 24:03Speaker 2: was directly related, but it does seem to cause chaos
- 24:05Speaker 2: during this episode and a lot of emotions from a
- 24:08Speaker 2: lot of people because there are new people coming in.
- 24:11Speaker 2: We're getting further along in this season. Some of your
- 24:15Speaker 2: best friends have just been sent home. I mean, we
- 24:18Speaker 2: see tears from Sandy here, we see tears from Lucy here.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Is that just part of the new people coming in
- 24:25Speaker 2: or is just what's.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Happening like when they first left.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well they all come back to the villa. All
- 24:34Speaker 2: the new people come back to the villa. Lucy and
- 24:37Speaker 2: Daniel's situation is a little different because he says she's oh,
- 24:42Speaker 2: because I was.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Gonna say they got in a fight that night. They
- 24:44Speaker 3: got That's why she was crying.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yes, And then Louis is kind of on edge because
- 24:50Speaker 2: of Sandy flirting, I think, and then Sandy gets upset
- 24:54Speaker 2: about this.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so that night with the tears, I think those
- 24:59Speaker 3: recoupling everyone was very on edge. Always as far as
- 25:04Speaker 3: Lucy and Daniel. Daniel would try to fight with Lucy
- 25:08Speaker 3: every single day and I think she cried majority of
- 25:11Speaker 3: the time, which is so so sad. But with Sandy
- 25:14Speaker 3: and Louie that night, I think they always had an
- 25:17Speaker 3: interesting dynamic where I think they would both flirt with
- 25:22Speaker 3: other people to get each other jealous, and it was
- 25:25Speaker 3: just something that they did. And I think that night
- 25:28Speaker 3: Sandy was like, you know, you've been on this date
- 25:30Speaker 3: with Alex and you have had your time to explore,
- 25:33Speaker 3: so I'm going to talk to Jalen, and you know,
- 25:37Speaker 3: he just got angry. I think she was quurting. But
- 25:39Speaker 3: never that night was there a second where I thought
- 25:41Speaker 3: Sandy would switch over to Jalen.
- 25:44Speaker 2: You never thought that.
- 25:45Speaker 3: No. I think eventually, like down the road she was like,
- 25:49Speaker 3: oh he is attractive, like you know, things like that,
- 25:53Speaker 3: But in that moment she was so locked in with
- 25:55Speaker 3: Louie and I don't think there was a chance.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Now helped me rem member here, it's been a week
- 26:01Speaker 2: and a half. Yes, this evening, you still matched with
- 26:05Speaker 2: Scott Lay was obviously there. He goes home with Olivia,
- 26:11Speaker 2: Alie matches with Justine. At this moment, we feel like
- 26:15Speaker 2: new couples are forming. But you stayed with Scott.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Why so at the time, Well, I actually didn't speak
- 26:24Speaker 3: to Ray that night. I didn't talk to him aut all.
- 26:27Speaker 3: I did talk to Jalen. It's funny because I did
- 26:30Speaker 3: watch it back and it looked like I was like
- 26:33Speaker 3: trying to flirt with Jalen. And it's so funny because
- 26:35Speaker 3: I sat down with him and immediately I was like, oh,
- 26:37Speaker 3: just so you know, like I'm going to match with
- 26:39Speaker 3: Scott tonight, like we're hitting it off. But I think
- 26:43Speaker 3: at the time I really did like Scott actually, which
- 26:47Speaker 3: is funny. He was so different from anyone who've ever dated,
- 26:51Speaker 3: and I wanted to give it a chance to see
- 26:53Speaker 3: if it worked. I didn't want to just switch the
- 26:55Speaker 3: first week, and I didn't go on a date or anything.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I didn't know Jalen or so I was liking where
- 27:02Speaker 3: things were. What's gone.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Actually, this is the first episode, the full episode where
- 27:07Speaker 2: Clayton isn't involved at all. Yes, that obviously becomes Rachel.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I think we talked about this. I think I even
- 27:14Speaker 2: made a joke to you. I'm sorry that I did this.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I said, this isn't going to happen, right, and you
- 27:20Speaker 2: like stop and I was like, gosh, dang it. Okay,
- 27:22Speaker 2: but you.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Knew I would do that, Like, let's not be surprised
- 27:25Speaker 3: that I made a bad decision. I always make a
- 27:28Speaker 3: bad decision.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Yeah. I think I was just hopeful you know me
- 27:33Speaker 2: better than that lessons have been learned, But I guess
- 27:37Speaker 2: I guess they have learned them now. Yeah, could just
- 27:42Speaker 2: wait till next season when you get caught into a
- 27:44Speaker 2: new show.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And he's back again.
- 27:46Speaker 2: He's back. What is it about Clayton that draws you in?
- 27:51Speaker 3: Okay? I know that people think it's like I'm obsessed
- 27:55Speaker 3: with him, but I think it really was in this situation.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I think the fact that I've always thought that he
- 28:03Speaker 3: made a mistake, and I've always felt this like unfinished,
- 28:08Speaker 3: like not having any closure with him really, and then
- 28:11Speaker 3: being in this environment it's exactly like how we met.
- 28:14Speaker 3: There's like a camera in our face. It feels so familiar,
- 28:18Speaker 3: and he was the only person there I knew, like
- 28:20Speaker 3: I didn't know anyone else there, so it just felt
- 28:24Speaker 3: like something familiar and It wasn't like I'm like, oh
- 28:27Speaker 3: my god, let's get married right now. I was just
- 28:30Speaker 3: open to seeing what happened. And then I just got
- 28:32Speaker 3: pissed at him because I'm like, you're the one person
- 28:34Speaker 3: I can trust, and you did this on purpose. I
- 28:37Speaker 3: thought he was doing it on purpose to hurt me.
- 28:39Speaker 3: So that's kind of why it happened.
- 28:41Speaker 2: So was there actually a chance when we did the
- 28:44Speaker 2: almost famous event in Pebble Beach, like a few months
- 28:48Speaker 2: after your first time, well, you guys hadn't really spoken
- 28:52Speaker 2: since he you know, said goodbye to the first time.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Was there actually cause I always took that. I mean
- 29:01Speaker 2: I was there. We were like filming a commercial outside.
- 29:03Speaker 2: You guys were inside. I remember being like, that's just funny.
- 29:06Speaker 2: They're just flirting and this is not going to be
- 29:11Speaker 2: a thing. But now I could have been wrong, like
- 29:14Speaker 2: you were looking at it being like, no, maybe this
- 29:15Speaker 2: could be a thing again.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I think that time was mostly that was the first
- 29:20Speaker 3: time we've seen each other since AFR and since I
- 29:23Speaker 3: had been a lead, and so I think seeing him
- 29:27Speaker 3: that day was really just being like, okay, I understand
- 29:30Speaker 3: kind of where you were coming from, and being able
- 29:34Speaker 3: to actually get to a place to be like, okay,
- 29:37Speaker 3: we're good and so I feel like that day or
- 29:40Speaker 3: that time, it was more of us just being like okay,
- 29:43Speaker 3: like we're in a really really good place now, but
- 29:45Speaker 3: of course, like you know, who knows, and now we know.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah, now we know. Goodness.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Hey h Jenna Ashkwitz.

- 30:55Speaker 5: the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
- 31:03Speaker 2: All Right, So he apologizes to you on episode five. Uh,
- 31:09Speaker 2: I know that you've talked about this a ton. Did
- 31:11Speaker 2: that apology feel like? You're? Kind of being on these
- 31:16Speaker 2: shows is so weird because you live episode by episode.
- 31:19Speaker 2: You're talking and doing interviews episode by episode, and so
- 31:23Speaker 2: when you guys split apart or when he says no
- 31:26Speaker 2: more to you, you know you're upset. But then we
- 31:30Speaker 2: see in this episode he apologizes and it feels like
- 31:32Speaker 2: there's some reconciliation and healing. Was there or are you
- 31:37Speaker 2: still fuming?
- 31:38Speaker 3: I mean, obviously I was embarrassed. I don't know if
- 31:41Speaker 3: I was.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah, why were you embarrassed?
- 31:44Speaker 3: Because I think that was this moment or like that
- 31:50Speaker 3: moment the night before that was what everyone wanted me
- 31:52Speaker 3: to do the first time, right, like no and walk
- 31:56Speaker 3: away like you don't get to do this to me?
- 31:58Speaker 3: And I knew that moment was like in front of
- 32:00Speaker 3: me to have and I chose to not do it,
- 32:03Speaker 3: to give it a chance, and then he did the
- 32:06Speaker 3: same thing. So it was like, oh, like, it was
- 32:09Speaker 3: just embarrassing that I thought that he wouldn't do that again,
- 32:13Speaker 3: and just thinking about what the world would say and
- 32:15Speaker 3: what my family and friends would say, but you would say,
- 32:19Speaker 3: just like knowing people would be disappointed in me, that
- 32:23Speaker 3: was mainly it. And then I had the night to
- 32:25Speaker 3: sleep on it. I'd gone on my date and realized like, okay,
- 32:29Speaker 3: like it was just embarrassment. It's not coming from a
- 32:32Speaker 3: place of like hatred or anything like that. So we
- 32:36Speaker 3: did say I'm sorry to one another and moved on
- 32:40Speaker 3: for the time. Obviously, since that we've had a bit
- 32:44Speaker 3: of a tiff. But yeah, at the time, it felt
- 32:46Speaker 3: like we were like, okay, worse by We're good.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I feel like you have every right to be tiffing
- 32:53Speaker 2: with him. I think he should be crawling back to
- 32:56Speaker 2: you being like I am so sorry that I did
- 32:58Speaker 2: this again.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know, Clayton, he's not here, yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 2: And well so yeah, so why in the world did
- 33:06Speaker 2: you think it was going to be a different kid?
- 33:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad that you can move on. We see
- 33:13Speaker 2: him leave the house. It feels like a closure moment
- 33:18Speaker 2: for you. Even though Clayton pops up again this season.
- 33:23Speaker 2: He shows up, I was worried. I was watching, and
- 33:27Speaker 2: I was worried.
- 33:27Speaker 3: We'ren't worried. I barely talked to him that day when
- 33:30Speaker 3: he came back.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I know. I was excited for you. We're growing here,
- 33:36Speaker 2: we're learning as we go. But this jumps us into
- 33:40Speaker 2: episode seven where we're told that the men are going
- 33:43Speaker 2: to go hang out with the single women. The single
- 33:47Speaker 2: women are going to come hang out, or the single
- 33:50Speaker 2: men are going to come hang out with you all.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I think this is a great twist for so many
- 33:56Speaker 2: reasons on a show like this, I love every second
- 33:59Speaker 2: of this. It's funny to me how once you get
- 34:03Speaker 2: used to cameras being around, how comfortable you get, and
- 34:05Speaker 2: also that you think that you can do whatever you
- 34:08Speaker 2: want to do and your partner, I'm not going to
- 34:11Speaker 2: say spouse, because I think that would be a bigger issue,
- 34:15Speaker 2: but your partner won't ever find out. And it seems
- 34:20Speaker 2: like the men really jumped into that mindset of I
- 34:23Speaker 2: can have fun and do whatever, and these women will
- 34:26Speaker 2: never find out, even though it's being filmed and at
- 34:29Speaker 2: some point you're gonna have to watch it back.
- 34:31Speaker 3: It's so funny too, because we to this day talk
- 34:34Speaker 3: about it for the people listening in. AD was at
- 34:38Speaker 3: this mixer with the boys, so I would like to
- 34:43Speaker 3: know what they would have done if AD wasn't there,
- 34:46Speaker 3: because they knew AD was going to come back and
- 34:48Speaker 3: tell us everything. Sure, and the behavior that I witnessed
- 34:52Speaker 3: watching that back was worse than when I was just
- 34:56Speaker 3: hearing it firsthand. So yeah, you're so right. It was
- 35:00Speaker 3: actually insane that some of those guys thought that we
- 35:04Speaker 3: would never find out. But when I watched that, I
- 35:08Speaker 3: like to think, I'm like, oh, we're thinking about it
- 35:11Speaker 3: from a point of view, like oh, when they watch
- 35:13Speaker 3: back with their partner. But I think those guys knew
- 35:16Speaker 3: that they weren't going to be with their partners after this.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I don't think they have that longevity mindset that we have. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 3: so they just wanted to have fun, I think, yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And I mean the girls, you guys did. I mean
- 35:31Speaker 2: it was very tame, right.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Oh, I mean the girls were playing patty Cake. We
- 35:36Speaker 3: actually I think we barely were drinking. I took advantage
- 35:41Speaker 3: of it to get to know people, just because I
- 35:44Speaker 3: was newer and I didn't know some of the guys.
- 35:47Speaker 3: But I mean, no one kissed anyone. It was so
- 35:50Speaker 3: tame on our side. But that's you know how it
- 35:53Speaker 3: is with girls. I feel like we're so loyal.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I was going to ask, like some
- 35:57Speaker 2: people watch these shows for the social experiment. I mean,
- 36:00Speaker 2: there are college courses built around the back and abound
- 36:04Speaker 2: reality television. I feel like we're like coming close into
- 36:10Speaker 2: stereotyping men and women. But I think if you do
- 36:14Speaker 2: bring an experiment out like this one, you see the
- 36:17Speaker 2: behavior that's probably going to occur, which is the men
- 36:21Speaker 2: feel like they're on a bachelor party without any guardrails,
- 36:26Speaker 2: and the women are like, I just wish my partner
- 36:30Speaker 2: was still here with me having so much fun.
- 36:33Speaker 3: I know. And you even look at like that season
- 36:36Speaker 3: of Paradise where they did a similar switch separated the
- 36:41Speaker 3: guys and girls, or Love Island when they separate, it's
- 36:44Speaker 3: always the men that ended up switching, which is so interesting, right. Yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 3: But yeah, like you said, you can stereotype it at
- 36:52Speaker 3: this point, it happens so much.
- 36:54Speaker 2: It happens so much. We're seeing it over and over again.
- 36:57Speaker 2: It was I mean, it looked like the guys are
- 37:00Speaker 2: having a lot of fun. Give it that. For what
- 37:02Speaker 2: they were wanting, they were able to accomplish it. They
- 37:05Speaker 2: were for whatever reason, I feel like licking thighs. Licking thighs.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it was wild up in the boys party.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I've never like heard of like thigh licking as a
- 37:21Speaker 2: mixer party trick, but it seems to be what when
- 37:25Speaker 2: we saw episode one, we see it here now at
- 37:29Speaker 2: remind me, was this when you started talking to Ray again?
- 37:32Speaker 3: So this is where I basically met Ray. Okay, I
- 37:37Speaker 3: met Ray, Carrington and Cody for the first time, so well,
- 37:42Speaker 3: yeah basically, so yeah, that's where you get introduced to him.
- 37:45Speaker 2: You get introduced to him. What is it about Ray
- 37:47Speaker 2: at that moment above, Like, because you could have switched
- 37:50Speaker 2: to Carrington obviously, this is your moment to kind of
- 37:54Speaker 2: jump around a little bit. What it was it about
- 37:56Speaker 2: Ray that stood out to you?
- 37:58Speaker 3: I think in the it just felt like Ray wasn't
- 38:03Speaker 3: trying to get into the house. It was very friendly.
- 38:07Speaker 3: He was so easy to talk to. Not saying that
- 38:10Speaker 3: Cody and Carrington weren't, but they were definitely a little
- 38:13Speaker 3: more like flirty and forward, whereas I feel like with Ray,
- 38:16Speaker 3: it was so friendly and it felt like he wanted
- 38:19Speaker 3: to just get to know me, and it was just
- 38:21Speaker 3: really easy with him. So it just felt like he
- 38:25Speaker 3: was there for the right reasons, you know, like he
- 38:28Speaker 3: wasn't trying to just get into the house.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Well, we quickly see the transition to this whole like
- 38:36Speaker 2: reuniting party, the mixer that everybody gets to be a
- 38:40Speaker 2: part of. This is where we see kind of the
- 38:46Speaker 2: conversations spark up between Ady and Ali about him matching
- 38:51Speaker 2: with somebody else. We also start to hear, well Lucy
- 38:55Speaker 2: gets familiar with Daniel's behavior at the mixer. I personally
- 39:01Speaker 2: felt like Ady and Ali this was kind of every
- 39:04Speaker 2: couple needs that really tough moment, and this was their
- 39:09Speaker 2: really tough moment. Either they were going to make it
- 39:10Speaker 2: through it and be stronger for it, or they were
- 39:13Speaker 2: going to be done. And I think a show like
- 39:15Speaker 2: this it sets you up for so many opportunities to
- 39:19Speaker 2: have these kind of moments, which it kind of like
- 39:22Speaker 2: you said, Sandy and Louie continue to have. It feels
- 39:25Speaker 2: like every time a new person comes into the house
- 39:27Speaker 2: and they just kind of enjoy that aspect, but Adie
- 39:30Speaker 2: and Ali felt so strong that this could have broken
- 39:33Speaker 2: them because they're like, no, you're not the type of
- 39:35Speaker 2: person I want to be with. But they make it through.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Lucy and Daniel make it through. Was there ever a
- 39:41Speaker 2: moment that you thought either of these couples would not
- 39:43Speaker 2: stay together?
- 39:44Speaker 3: Aidi and Alie I knew would go back to each other.
- 39:48Speaker 3: It just felt like they were the strongest couple in
- 39:51Speaker 3: the house. And I feel like there's always that one
- 39:53Speaker 3: couple that's like, you just know that they're going to
- 39:56Speaker 3: make it, and so I think Allie was I mean,
- 40:01Speaker 3: I think he was just trying to give the respect
- 40:05Speaker 3: that Justine deserved and wanted to be open to the
- 40:08Speaker 3: process of the show. Obviously, it sucks that they kiss
- 40:13Speaker 3: and that eighty found out and that she had to
- 40:16Speaker 3: find out through Justine, Like that's horrible, But I was
- 40:20Speaker 3: so happy that they were able to get over all
- 40:23Speaker 3: that and come together. Lucy and Daniel, I feel like
- 40:26Speaker 3: that was more. It was sad to watch, just because
- 40:30Speaker 3: I feel like Lucy didn't have anyone else she was
- 40:33Speaker 3: interested in, So if it wasn't Daniel, she would have
- 40:36Speaker 3: probably just went home. So it's difficult because of course
- 40:40Speaker 3: I would have liked her to tell him no and rematch,
- 40:43Speaker 3: but like with who, I just can't look back and
- 40:46Speaker 3: think that there would have been anyone else.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Yeah, they had never felt like she out of anybody.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I think that's why she got set up on so
- 40:53Speaker 2: few dates or any date she went on zero, because
- 40:57Speaker 2: it's like, I don't see her with anybody else.
- 41:00Speaker 3: You would just fight her if she laughed too out
- 41:03Speaker 3: Like I don't know if you saw that night when
- 41:05Speaker 3: Ray came in, they got in a fight because Lucy
- 41:09Speaker 3: was laughing and that isn't even exaggeration, Like it was
- 41:15Speaker 3: like that the whole time. So it was difficult to
- 41:18Speaker 3: watch her go back.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Do you think it was because he was so into
- 41:22Speaker 2: her that he was insecure that she would move on
- 41:26Speaker 2: or No.
- 41:27Speaker 3: I think the boys they were very very close and
- 41:32Speaker 3: they would rile each other up, and I think no
- 41:35Speaker 3: one wanted to be embarrassed in front of their boys,
- 41:38Speaker 3: and so if someone's girl was flirting or doing something,
- 41:43Speaker 3: they just didn't want to be embarrassed. I think that's
- 41:46Speaker 3: what it was, more than them caring about the women.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that first kissing challenge we see kind
- 41:52Speaker 2: of his reaction to it. On a show like this,
- 41:58Speaker 2: when I get to talk to the who i've is
- 42:00Speaker 2: going to be the next Bachelor, I don't have a
- 42:03Speaker 2: lot of advice to give, but I just try to
- 42:05Speaker 2: set up expectations and the mindset and what could be happening.
- 42:10Speaker 2: So on a show like this, I'm sure you look
- 42:12Speaker 2: back now and if somebody were to call you and say, hey,
- 42:15Speaker 2: I'm going on the Perfect Match next season, how should
- 42:19Speaker 2: I be viewing this? Should it just be more lighthearted
- 42:22Speaker 2: and loose and be And if you're especially if you're
- 42:25Speaker 2: a guy, like, hey, your girl is going to do
- 42:28Speaker 2: some wild stuff, but she'll probably come back to you,
- 42:31Speaker 2: or you hope she does.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I don't even think the girls do anything wild. I
- 42:35Speaker 3: would just say it's definitely more lighthearted. They even if
- 42:39Speaker 3: there are heavy moments, a lot of those were taken out.
- 42:42Speaker 3: There were a lot more moments that they could have
- 42:44Speaker 3: aired if they wanted to be dramatic. They don't want that.
- 42:47Speaker 3: They want funny and fun. So I would tell anyone
- 42:50Speaker 3: to just go in and I would say, really, just
- 42:53Speaker 3: keep your options open. I want to see next season
- 42:56Speaker 3: have a bunch of rematches and coming back together, and
- 42:59Speaker 3: I want to see people explore more. So that's what
- 43:02Speaker 3: I would say.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Well, we do see Scott exploring more. He matches with Juliette.
- 43:07Speaker 2: During this episode, Freddy and Madison get back together. Not
- 43:11Speaker 2: a shock there. Probably the most unexpected couple for me.
- 43:15Speaker 3: I know, right, they were a great couple, though there's
- 43:19Speaker 3: been so much talk online. I think just because people
- 43:23Speaker 3: have watched Love Is Blind before and just had an
- 43:25Speaker 3: idea of Madison. But I went in not knowing either
- 43:29Speaker 3: of them, and they were such a good couple, so
- 43:33Speaker 3: unexpected to the viewers. But like in person, they were
- 43:36Speaker 3: like in a little love bubble, they were solid.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Let's actually do this now. If you could give me
- 43:42Speaker 2: like one word or just a few words to describe
- 43:44Speaker 2: each couple at this point, I think that would give
- 43:47Speaker 2: a viewers or the listeners a little understanding. So Scott
- 43:50Speaker 2: and Juliette.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Will start with them game players.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Freddy and Madison married, Lucy and Daniel.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Toxic and Ray the best. No, I'd say like friends.
- 44:05Speaker 3: We were like friends, Louis and Sandy, Sexy.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Eighty and Ali soulmates. We do see eighty and Ali
- 44:14Speaker 2: getting a little fight before bed. It doesn't look good,
- 44:18Speaker 2: but it does feel like they have the strength to reconcile.
- 44:22Speaker 2: And as you said, I think soulmates have that right.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Arguments are part of relationships, but it's how you come together.
- 44:31Speaker 2: So we now see you Rachel with Ray. This starts
- 44:35Speaker 2: to episode nine with the Final Compatibility Challenge. Each couple
- 44:38Speaker 2: has to complete a group of tasks, and each person
- 44:42Speaker 2: has to do fifty percent of the tasks a tire change,
- 44:46Speaker 2: there's a mystery buffet where you have to dive through
- 44:49Speaker 2: a bunch of stuff, a cold plunge, and a pyramid puzzle.
- 44:53Speaker 2: The winners get to go on a date and a
- 44:55Speaker 2: trip to the boardroom, which obviously gives you a lot
- 44:58Speaker 2: of influence when it comes down to the final weeks
- 45:01Speaker 2: of the show. You ate some crickets during this challenge.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I killed it. I was I've never been more surprised
- 45:08Speaker 3: at myself that I was competitive. I loved this challenge.
- 45:12Speaker 3: It felt like Survivor. It was so much fun.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, eating crickets isn't that weird. I think
- 45:18Speaker 2: you just have to get past the mindset of Hey,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I personally, living in the United States haven't done this often. However,
- 45:26Speaker 2: a lot of other places in this world, do enjoy
- 45:28Speaker 2: a cricket or too.
- 45:29Speaker 3: It's funny because I ate crickets on my one of
- 45:33Speaker 3: my dates with Zach in Mexico, so I'd already done this.
- 45:37Speaker 3: And on The Bachelor we had a group date in Croatia.
- 45:41Speaker 3: We were eating like cowbrains, cow eyeballs, fish heads like,
- 45:46Speaker 3: so I've already kind of had experience doing this. So
- 45:49Speaker 3: when I saw the crickets, I was like, oh, this
- 45:51Speaker 3: is going to be the easiest thing on the table.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I thought it was just going to get worse and
- 45:55Speaker 3: worse and worse. So that's why I went for the
- 45:58Speaker 3: crickets right away. And looking back, none of the girls did,
- 46:01Speaker 3: except for a d because Ollie's actually vegan, so that's
- 46:04Speaker 3: why she had to do it. But it was just
- 46:06Speaker 3: so funny watching back, I'm like, oh, I just took
- 46:08Speaker 3: the hardest one for no reason.
- 46:10Speaker 2: I'm impressed with you. I also didn't I don't remember
- 46:13Speaker 2: the eyeballs and stuff that I could do crickets easily.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I think it's the texture stuff that gets me just
- 46:18Speaker 2: in general, no matter where I'm at, I understand that
- 46:21Speaker 2: they're crunchy. Yeah, I can do crunchy.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Crunchy and salty. They're salted.
- 46:27Speaker 2: See it's nice.
- 46:28Speaker 3: It wasn't bad.
- 46:29Speaker 2: You give me an eyeball it explodes in my mouth.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I don't think I'm that cool with it.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Yeah it was bad.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think I'm like dah. I just I
- 46:35Speaker 2: have a hard time getting my head around that. You
- 46:49Speaker 2: are the last two people to go to the boardroom
- 46:51Speaker 2: after winning this date. Congratulations by the way on winning
- 46:54Speaker 2: the challenge. It's a big deal. You pick Sandy to
- 46:57Speaker 2: go on a date with JR. Because of the past
- 47:01Speaker 2: they had a little trial marriage. I haven't watched the ultimatum,
- 47:04Speaker 2: but I'm assuming it makes getting married quickly even worse
- 47:08Speaker 2: than what the Bachelor does. We don't get to see
- 47:11Speaker 2: during this moment kind of what your last choice is,
- 47:13Speaker 2: but you do choose Sandy to go on this date
- 47:16Speaker 2: with JR. Is it only because I'm not going to
- 47:21Speaker 2: lead you into this? Why?
- 47:24Speaker 3: So? I will say going into the boardroom, we thought
- 47:29Speaker 3: it would be mixed. We thought there'd be boys and girls.
- 47:33Speaker 3: So we had a plan. And then we get to
- 47:35Speaker 3: the boardroom and we saw everyone who's already been on dates,
- 47:39Speaker 3: who's already been in here, and we were like, what
- 47:42Speaker 3: do we do? They gave us nothing on his board,
- 47:44Speaker 3: so it was such a hard decision because there was
- 47:47Speaker 3: no nothing to do. I went in with the mindset
- 47:51Speaker 3: of like not wanting to mess up couples, not wanting
- 47:55Speaker 3: to get people in trouble. So I thought from that board,
- 48:01Speaker 3: it could just be a good closure moment for Sandy
- 48:04Speaker 3: to have a Loane time with Jr. Because I think
- 48:06Speaker 3: when you're in the house and louis staring at you
- 48:08Speaker 3: in the kitchen, maybe you don't have that closure moment.
- 48:11Speaker 3: So that's why I chose that. And then the next
- 48:14Speaker 3: decision was actually all Ray So he made the Juliette
- 48:18Speaker 3: and Carrington decision.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Why do you think he did that?
- 48:22Speaker 3: So from what we heard, Juliet and Carrington really hit
- 48:27Speaker 3: it off, and everyone was shocked she picked Clayton, So
- 48:33Speaker 3: I thought, if they had such a good connection already,
- 48:36Speaker 3: like maybe let's see where it goes now. But I
- 48:40Speaker 3: didn't choose that, right, did choose that? So, I mean
- 48:43Speaker 3: it made sense. She gave us a great ending, better
- 48:46Speaker 3: than we could have ever asked for. She makes such
- 48:48Speaker 3: good TV, so it ended up being a good decision.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Now, Juliet was obviously upset with you when she first
- 48:57Speaker 2: was eliminated from the show or asked go home from
- 48:59Speaker 2: the show. She called you boring.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I am boring kind of compared to her.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yeah, she's great to me. Do you like, did you
- 49:07Speaker 2: enjoy her?
- 49:09Speaker 3: At the time, I just felt like she hated me.
- 49:13Speaker 3: So I definitely just I understood why she was mad
- 49:17Speaker 3: at me. I would have felt the same exact way,
- 49:19Speaker 3: and so I think I was just during the show
- 49:21Speaker 3: kept my distance from her. And then she stole my man,
- 49:23Speaker 3: which just felt like she did it on purpose. And
- 49:26Speaker 3: then I look back now knowing her, and I'm like,
- 49:28Speaker 3: she just doesn't care, like she just wanted to have
- 49:30Speaker 3: fun and it was fine. But at the time I
- 49:33Speaker 3: was like, oh my gosh, I feel like she hates me.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I would struggle when Jess and I
- 49:40Speaker 2: watched this, I watched it with there is a reason
- 49:44Speaker 2: why I didn't do any other reality television shows because
- 49:50Speaker 2: I would be on this and I would be so boring.
- 49:53Speaker 3: We are boring. That's when people just have a different
- 49:56Speaker 3: mindset we do.
- 49:57Speaker 2: I mean, I think one hundred percent I would been
- 49:59Speaker 2: on the show and you would have never seen me.
- 50:02Speaker 2: You would have never seen me.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Likely you would have been like Freddie, you would have
- 50:07Speaker 3: been the same exact way. And people love Freddy. So
- 50:09Speaker 3: I think you need all types of people.
- 50:12Speaker 2: You do, You do need all types of people. Freddie
- 50:15Speaker 2: was so sweet and he was great, and he found
- 50:19Speaker 2: somebody during this and was able to make it through
- 50:22Speaker 2: with very little damage. But nobody's talking about Freddie. That's
- 50:25Speaker 2: the thing.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Everyone talks about Freddy. They love him. He's a fan favorite. Sure, yeah,
- 50:30Speaker 3: but yeah, like there's no discourse, Like people aren't like
- 50:33Speaker 3: talking or like making tiktoks about him.
- 50:36Speaker 2: No, there is no blurbs about Freddy. They're just like, yeah,
- 50:38Speaker 2: he seems like a nice guy. Why weren't you with Freddie?
- 50:42Speaker 3: Well, when I first got there, I was like so
- 50:45Speaker 3: excited because me and Freddy really hit it off. But
- 50:48Speaker 3: he was very like clear with that. He was like
- 50:53Speaker 3: going to try to pursue things with Madison. Okay, So
- 50:57Speaker 3: I didn't really. I don't know. I look back at him.
- 51:00Speaker 3: I don't know if I could have tried harder, But
- 51:03Speaker 3: at the time he just said I'm with Madison, and
- 51:05Speaker 3: I just said, I don't want to sit on any toes.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I don't know anyone.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I'm metrically here. Yeah, let me go back to what's
- 51:14Speaker 2: so healthy and best for me? Clayton Goodness greatness. So
- 51:21Speaker 2: episode ten, uh, we kind of see this whole thing
- 51:25Speaker 2: come to a conclusion. The final mixer is going on.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I want to know your thoughts before we go to this.
- 51:31Speaker 3: The night before with Carrington and Scott with the big.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Blow up with Julie about JULIETT. I mean, my thoughts
- 51:41Speaker 2: are this it was? It just it's predictable.
- 51:45Speaker 3: You thought I was shocked when it was happening. Why
- 51:49Speaker 3: Because Scott and Juliet just seemed so unseerious that I
- 51:53Speaker 3: thought he would have just not cared that she was
- 51:56Speaker 3: flirting with Carrington.
- 51:58Speaker 2: I think it's the embarrassment factor. I think you make
- 52:00Speaker 2: it make sense when you say these guys were so
- 52:03Speaker 2: worried about being embarrassed. They all come into this. I
- 52:06Speaker 2: think only Freddie was the only guy that came into
- 52:09Speaker 2: this without his intro package being like I am a
- 52:13Speaker 2: ladies man. I love to like saying things like I'm
- 52:16Speaker 2: a ladies man, or I steal girls, or girls are
- 52:20Speaker 2: so lucky to be with me. He was the only
- 52:21Speaker 2: one to not have that type of ego and confidence,
- 52:25Speaker 2: not even confidence. I think he has confidence. He didn't
- 52:27Speaker 2: have the ego, He had humility, he had perspective. Ray, Yes,
- 52:31Speaker 2: I would say Ray was very similar in that too.
- 52:35Speaker 2: But everybody else I think had so much of an ego.
- 52:38Speaker 2: They thought they were God's gift to this world and
- 52:40Speaker 2: they were going to walk into that house and the girls,
- 52:42Speaker 2: We're just gonna be like, all right, please choose me.
- 52:45Speaker 2: And most of the guys who kind of had that
- 52:49Speaker 2: mentality failed miserably, like nobody wanted them.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Well, I don't know.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I mean, Louis was there from the beginning, so I
- 52:59Speaker 2: think he got lucky because he didn't come into the
- 53:01Speaker 2: house to try to convince anybody. I think anybody knew, like, yes,
- 53:06Speaker 2: the originals, the ogs had connections. I think if you
- 53:12Speaker 2: were new and you came in with that mentality where
- 53:14Speaker 2: it's where you thought you were going to be able
- 53:16Speaker 2: to convince some one of the girls who has already
- 53:18Speaker 2: coupled up to move on from whoever they're with, it
- 53:21Speaker 2: just never worked. I mean, Carrington I think had the
- 53:24Speaker 2: most aggressively bad intro.
- 53:27Speaker 3: I will defend him, though, I think he just was
- 53:30Speaker 3: messing around a little and it came off not so nice.
- 53:35Speaker 3: But I will say, like with me, at least, he
- 53:38Speaker 3: was so sweet.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Then why didn't you ever get with him?
- 53:42Speaker 3: Well, I was just saying because like at the time,
- 53:45Speaker 3: I mean looking back, everyone saw his intro, but when
- 53:48Speaker 3: I was there with him, he was nice. But I
- 53:50Speaker 3: do agree he and Jr. Definitely had a strong intro package. Yes, yes,
- 53:57Speaker 3: but I think maybe it is them just like trying
- 53:59Speaker 3: to hype them so helps up.
- 54:00Speaker 2: So that's why I don't think it's shocking to me,
- 54:02Speaker 2: is because I saw the intros and I watch it
- 54:05Speaker 2: back and I'm thinking, these guys just don't want to
- 54:07Speaker 2: be embarrassed, like they don't want to be made fools
- 54:10Speaker 2: of And I think Juliette was just making fools of
- 54:14Speaker 2: them in a little bit of ways, because yeah, they
- 54:16Speaker 2: were unseerious with Juliet, and they thought, I'm unseious, she's
- 54:22Speaker 2: in a sense lucky that she's here with us, and
- 54:25Speaker 2: then it blows up. And that's why I think I
- 54:30Speaker 2: was expecting it at some level.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy because just from what I saw with
- 54:35Speaker 3: Scott and Juliet, they actually seemed like they liked each other,
- 54:38Speaker 3: but they were so unserious together also, like they were
- 54:41Speaker 3: so like, we're having fun and when Scott walked out
- 54:44Speaker 3: without having a conversation with her, I remember that it
- 54:47Speaker 3: was crazy, but yeah, definitely a crazier night than could
- 54:53Speaker 3: have anticipated with such a dismal board selection.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Well, this means that Juliette has no one to match
- 54:59Speaker 2: with after that evening, and so she has to leave
- 55:02Speaker 2: the villa again, leaving final matches Sandy and Louis, Lucy
- 55:07Speaker 2: and Daniel, You and Ray, Madison and Freddie and Ali
- 55:12Speaker 2: and a d. This is an incredible group to walk
- 55:16Speaker 2: into the finale with. At the end of this we
- 55:19Speaker 2: see the couples kind of have their romantic moments together.
- 55:22Speaker 2: You said that you and Ray were friends. Were you
- 55:24Speaker 2: ever romantic?
- 55:26Speaker 3: I think maybe there was like a moment where it
- 55:28Speaker 3: was like we could have been Like I definitely didn't
- 55:31Speaker 3: look at him and I'm like, oh, we're just going
- 55:32Speaker 3: to be friends. Like he's so good looking, he's a
- 55:35Speaker 3: great guy. But I think the more we were in
- 55:38Speaker 3: the house, it just seemed like, I don't know if
- 55:42Speaker 3: we had that spark, and then it just never really came.
- 55:47Speaker 3: But I loved my time with him there. I wouldn't have,
- 55:51Speaker 3: you know, done it with anyone else. It was so special.
- 55:54Speaker 3: But yeah, I think even like for our final date,
- 55:57Speaker 3: like we're talking about the future and things like that,
- 55:59Speaker 3: and I think I was surprised at some of the
- 56:01Speaker 3: things he was saying because I was like, I don't
- 56:03Speaker 3: feel like you really liked me like that. So yeah, no,
- 56:06Speaker 3: I definitely think we were just more friendly.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Do you before I skip forward into kind of life
- 56:12Speaker 2: now and now that it all makes sense, we do
- 56:14Speaker 2: have the final compatibility challenge. In the last few minutes
- 56:17Speaker 2: of hear us breaking down the last few episodes of
- 56:20Speaker 2: Perfect Match. The compatibility challenge is this. You all were
- 56:25Speaker 2: given questions. You have to answer these questions, which I
- 56:32Speaker 2: think is so hard really during this thing because you
- 56:35Speaker 2: don't know a lot about each other.
- 56:38Speaker 3: I was shocked at how much I knew. I was
- 56:40Speaker 3: so proud of myself. We were such a new couple.
- 56:43Speaker 3: But it's hard because I think the reason they did it,
- 56:46Speaker 3: I don't know if you know, Ben, but the season
- 56:48Speaker 3: before the people who won were they'd just gotten there
- 56:52Speaker 3: like the week before. Oh, because a lot of our
- 56:56Speaker 3: vote is from outside the house, and so I think
- 57:01Speaker 3: people who are outside the house can be a little
- 57:04Speaker 3: bit angry sometimes at like the way that the show
- 57:07Speaker 3: played out, and I'm angry for them. Honestly, it's hard
- 57:11Speaker 3: to get in the house, so I think this was
- 57:13Speaker 3: their way this season to not allow that to happen again.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I'm assuming like they just didn't want me and Ray
- 57:19Speaker 3: to win or like people who are newer. But it
- 57:22Speaker 3: took out couples like Madison and Freddy, who she genuinely
- 57:26Speaker 3: think should have been in the final two. So that
- 57:28Speaker 3: was tough that that happened.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it did. It took out fred This compatibility challenge
- 57:33Speaker 2: took out Freddy at Madison, You and Ray and Sandy
- 57:36Speaker 2: and Louie. Be honest, please, I really liked the Perfect Match.
- 57:42Speaker 2: I would tell anybody to still like to watch it,
- 57:46Speaker 2: to tune in. But the idea of a seven day
- 57:49Speaker 2: vacation as your reward for winning, was it really a
- 57:55Speaker 2: driving force for you? Like, did you want to win
- 57:59Speaker 2: different than half a million?
- 58:01Speaker 3: Right? I think for me, if you really, if you're
- 58:05Speaker 3: not like eighty and Ali in love with each other, Yeah,
- 58:10Speaker 3: that seven day trips seems like it would be tough, Like,
- 58:14Speaker 3: I don't know if I want to really do that
- 58:16Speaker 3: with someone I just met. I would say the driving
- 58:20Speaker 3: factor for a lot of these people is like kind
- 58:23Speaker 3: of like just wanting to be there the longest. I
- 58:28Speaker 3: think the trip is just that's the reward that they
- 58:31Speaker 3: thought of. I don't think anyone was like, oh, I
- 58:33Speaker 3: want to win because I really want this trip. I
- 58:35Speaker 3: think people just want it to be there as long
- 58:37Speaker 3: as they could. I think eighty and Dollie were the
- 58:39Speaker 3: only people who would have actually taken and truly enjoyed it.
- 58:43Speaker 3: But it's hard to say that it was like a
- 58:45Speaker 3: good prize because I don't feel like anyone was like, oh,
- 58:49Speaker 3: I need to go on this vacation.
- 58:51Speaker 2: I've just gotten back from the beach and gotten gotten
- 58:55Speaker 2: drinks and food and hung out, like I don't need
- 58:58Speaker 2: another vacation, right.
- 59:03Speaker 3: So it's definitely I mean, it's nice that there is
- 59:06Speaker 3: a prize. I think they could also do it without
- 59:08Speaker 3: a prize and people would still.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Go in the show sure, just to be titled the
- 59:12Speaker 2: Perfect Match, Well, Lucy and Daniel are there for the
- 59:17Speaker 2: couples to vote on, and Ali and a d I
- 59:20Speaker 2: shouldn't say the couples because there's outside influences voting on
- 59:25Speaker 2: this as well. Lucy and Daniel end up being the
- 59:28Speaker 2: winners of this shocker to me. I think you've hinted
- 59:33Speaker 2: at being a shock as well. You probably voted for
- 59:37Speaker 2: Aid and Ali.
- 59:37Speaker 3: I'm assuming everyone in the house, I think except for Louis.
- 59:41Speaker 3: Louis didn't eat you. I don't know everyone in the
- 59:44Speaker 3: house voted for Aid and Ali.
- 59:47Speaker 2: So why do you think that, Like, why were people
- 59:49Speaker 2: like why wouldn't people vote for AIDI.
- 59:50Speaker 3: And Ali in this Everyone outside of the house voted
- 59:53Speaker 3: for Lucy and Daniel Because I don't think the women
- 59:58Speaker 3: who were outside the house were happy with the way
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Ali treated Justine. And I think Justine loves ad and
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: like wants the best for her, and I think she
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: just didn't like the way Alie handled things. So I
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: think they were coming from a place of like wanting
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: to support a d and just thinking that Allie was
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe they thought he wasn't being truthful.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: They weren't in the house so they didn't get to
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: see what we saw. And of course Lucy is like
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: just such a sweetheart, so she's like so easy to
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: love and vote for. I think they were just like
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: mad at Allie.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I mean, it makes sense. I think it's still shocking
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: to me. I think even you don't punish a d
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: for a seven day vacation because she's with a guy
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: who you don't.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: I agree, and that is why I voted for them,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: and I was in shock when they didn't win. I
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: mean Lucy was in shock. She did win, it was crazy.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: And then obviously they ended up not taking the t
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: so it really all was a waste because now ad
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: is pregnant and about to have a beautiful baby girl,
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: and I would have loved to see her on the
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: trip with Ali.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Maybe the show can just pass it off for a
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: baby moon.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: He keep saying that.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah, now let's talk about the couples. Now Lucy and
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Daniel no longer together. As you mentioned, how quickly did
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: that end?
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: They a couple of people went on a trip right
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: after we finished filming to Cabo, and I think there
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: was a lot that went on there that the women
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: weren't too happy about. I would say Cabo was the
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: driving breakup for a lot of people who were there.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I wasn't there, but I know that he didn't treat
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: her super well, and they also live in different countries sure,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: so when they broke up, I wasn't very surprised. Daniel
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: also didn't like me very much. So I was like,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: but y, yeah, it.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Was sad, but you and Lucy were friends me and
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: see our friends.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Yeah, we're really close, and so it's just hard, you know,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: you don't want to see your friends go through that.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Freddie and Madison, what's the updates?
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: So they are not together? I actually really thought they
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: would be together for a while. They seemed so they
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: seemed like a married couple.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I just saw them recently in July, and I
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: guess they broke up pretty soon after. Again, they're in
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: different countries. It's probably a big reason. You and Ray
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: we're still friends, like actual friends, which is crazy.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: And do you guys ever go skydiving?
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Okay, so we were going to We like had plans
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: to the morning after we had the big Netflix party,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: and then everyone was so hungover that I'm like, if
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: I jump onto a plane right now, I'm gonna die.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: So hopefully we get to soon.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Now, obviously, you've had two big time hosts, Jesse Palmer
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: and Nick Lache. I know you love Jesse. Who to
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: you is the better host?
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Well, obviously I always have to say Jesse because I
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: was his first Bachelorette season and Bachelor season, so I
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: just have a bond with him. But Nick Lache is amazing.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: He is so fun. He would take shots with us like.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: He's great. I just don't have any relationship to him,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: so of course I'm gonna pick Jesse.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Okay, final couple questions for you personally, Rachel. We get
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: to see the Clayton stuff go down. We have gotten
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: to know you from the show. I'm assuming somebody from
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: the show has circled back after the show and said, hey, Rachel,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: maybe we should have given it a shot. Can you
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: tell us who?
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so I reconnected with Carrington before the show. I
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: feel like I've like kind of pinted at it and
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: things like that. But yeah, I think he's so sweet
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: and yeah, you know, who knows what could have happened.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Are you dating anybody right now?
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: I'm not dating anyone. I'm definitely single. But yeah, it
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: was nice to reconnect for sure with Carrington.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Does he live in LA.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: He lives in Salt Lake City?
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Okay, have you been to Salt Lake City?
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: I have been there, but uh, not to see him.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Dides intro scare you a little bit, So it's funny.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: I didn't know about any of that. Until I watched
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: it back, and then it was funny. We watched some
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: of it together. But I think with me, he was
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: so sweet and actually it's funny. He DMed me after
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: I think I was on The Bachelor, so like years ago,
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: and he told me that on the show, and I
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, I couldn't remember. So, yeah,
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: he's just a sweetheart.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: So there is a potential for you to find a
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: perfect match from the show.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Still, there's always potential, right, you know. I love to
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: circle back.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I don't know if that's like a behavior that I
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: would say it was a good one. I don't know.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: I think you're better than that, Rachel, But I don't
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: know Carrington, so maybe that is a good one to
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: circle back too.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: We'll see, we'll see.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: That's all we're getting.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: I don't have any like solid updates, like we're definitely
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: not dating or like anything like that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Okay, he calls you tomorrow and says, Hey, I'm going
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: to be in La Rachel, I want to take you
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: on a date.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Well, we see each other when he's in La. Yeah,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: but yeah, I think we live in different states and
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: it's really far.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: It's super hard to fly from Salt Lake today.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I know, it's like thirty minutes. It's crazy and apply
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: for freeze. It's just like it's really hard to get
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: out there.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Such a good excuse you're making to why this could
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: potentially not be a thing.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: No, who knows, Like I genuinely like will tell you
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: if I have an update, but like as of now,
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: it's been nice to reconnect with him and like, you know,
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: we went through the show together, so like watching it
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: back and stuff, it was nice to have someone who
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: like got it.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Rachel. I've told you this many times on the show
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: and person, I think, out of so many people, you
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: are one of my favorite people to ever come out
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: of the franchise. I am confused when people ask me,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: like about single people from the Bachelor World. I'm confused
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: on how people haven't reached out to you to try
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: to connect and date more often. But it sounds like
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: to me, for the first time since your time as
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: the lead on the show, you're getting some attention that
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you deserve from boys.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: You know, I think boys do reach out to me.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I definitely. I mean it's funny because you know, the
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: guy that I dated, like the one that I was
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: kind of like more in the public with it was
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: difficult because when things ended, it was still online and
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: people still thought we were together and you were with
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: me actually when I was like talking to you about
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: that for the first time. So after that had happened,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: I just tried to be more silent about it because
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I didn't want that to happen again. And I think
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: now I'm kind of at the point where like, I
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: think people do deserve to know what I'm doing and
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: if I'm talking to someone, so I like to be
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: more open. But yeah, for years I just was like,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: I'm single, I don't know, and now I think everyone
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: thinks that, you know, no one was trying to talk
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: to me. They do, but it's just hard, you know,
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: when you're in the public failing in relationships, especially when
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: you already have at such a large scale. So I
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: would definitely keep things more private. But I mean, hey,
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: now you know some of the tea at least.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Some of the tea. I get it. No, I mean we,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Jess and I kept it secret for six months because
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: because when something's good too you don't want to publicize it,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: and then if things don't work out, you're asked about
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: that person and it will every time you're asked about
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: that person, because yeah, that was a good thing. Well
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: luckily for me, you know, it ended in marriage, so
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: not ended, it started in marriage, and so we can
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: will never be sad to talk about it. I could
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: talk about Jess all day.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Literally, So happy for you guys and your beautiful baby
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: and your amazing trips and hopefully you can give me
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: some of that luck.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to. I'm passing it off to you. Rachel,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: you are a dream, the perfect match. Final question for you?
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Are you glad you did it? What did you learn
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: about yourself through it?
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: I actually am so glad. I keep getting asked this question. Obviously,
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: it's so different from Bachelor, and I just think this
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: was the first time I ever got to be like
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: on TV being myself without this reputation of people who
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: had seen me before thought that they knew me. And
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: I just got to have so much fun. Obviously the
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Clayton stuff was hard, like wouldn't have wanted that for anyone,
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: but I think I just got to really have a
