- 0:27Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:29Today we are talking about misaligned activity.
- 0:34What does that mean? Well, that means if you know you
- 0:38are wanting to move yourself in a direction, you have a goal,
- 0:41you have an outcome, you have intent behind something and then
- 0:46you misalign your activity to it, where is it going to take
- 0:49you? What's it going to get you?
- 0:52And this is a very powerful thing to clean up quickly.
- 0:57What's going on? In your world, if it's not
- 0:59working the way you want it to. So let me give you a simple
- 1:03example. If you are saying you want to
- 1:05save money and your your whole intention is to put more money
- 1:11into an account, that will be something that you can use for a
- 1:14vacation, let's say. And you decide that instead of
- 1:19putting the money into the account, you are going to go out
- 1:23and do something like buy new shoes.
- 1:28Is that an activity that's aligned with your outcome?
- 1:34Probably not, unless you really need the shoes, which most of us
- 1:37do. We really need new shoes.
- 1:39I don't know that we need new shoes.
- 1:41We want new shoes. And that is a whole crux of
- 1:46where this comes from. The how needs and wants
- 1:48interfere with our longterm intentions and what what we do
- 1:56in order to keep those. In place.
- 2:00So think about it for a second. How many times have you known
- 2:04you've had an intention, but you have been misaligned?
- 2:08You've just said, OK, I'm going to go, I'm, I'm losing weight
- 2:12this week. I'm putting myself on lockdown.
- 2:14And then someone invites you for Mexican food, and you sit at the
- 2:17table and there are automatically, without you even
- 2:20ordering them, chips and salsa put in front of you and you say.
- 2:25I love chips and salsa. I can't have them Okay.
- 2:28That's an aligned activity to you, losing weight and getting
- 2:31healthy. But then all of a sudden you
- 2:33find that your hand has a whole different mind of itself and
- 2:36it's reaching for them. And it's like it's just one
- 2:38chip. Okay, It's just one chip.
- 2:40That's true. It's just one chip.
- 2:42Is it going to kill you? No.
- 2:45Probably not. But it does take you out of
- 2:48alignment. And as soon as you are out of
- 2:50alignment, that means you can all of a sudden go back to
- 2:54saying it doesn't matter, I can just do it.
- 2:57I'll start again tomorrow and every time you take yourself
- 3:00out, it's it. It does not.
- 3:04It does not help your process. It does not help your progress.
- 3:08It kills actually kills both of them and.
- 3:12We don't realize how many times a day we do this and we take
- 3:16ourselves into this place of despair because we keep taking
- 3:20ourselves out. We wipe, we swipe our own legs,
- 3:23and then we wonder why we feel like crap all the time.
- 3:26And it's because we keep taking ourselves out and we become
- 3:28misaligned. And it's alignment feels so good
- 3:33when we're in it and it's moving in the right direction.
- 3:35And we all know because we'll say I'm in such a flow right
- 3:38now. Don't bother me, I'm going to
- 3:39flow or I and you and you almost become fearful of falling out of
- 3:42it. I know I do.
- 3:43When I'm working on writing and I'm doing all this work, I'll
- 3:46get like, I don't nobody's just, you know don't jinx me.
- 3:49Don't come near me. I get like very freaked out
- 3:50because I don't want to stop the process because getting back
- 3:54into it is hard. But alignment really requires.
- 3:59Those little tiny moments to say okay, I have got to stop myself
- 4:05right now. I'm going to set it up and make
- 4:07sure I understand what I want to be aligned with.
- 4:10So activity around this that can really help a lot is to put down
- 4:14whatever put on a piece of paper.
- 4:16Okay like at the top of the paper, right in the middle of
- 4:19the top of the piece of paper. Like you write down here's what
- 4:22your your intention is and then you divide the paper in half and
- 4:26you say these are things that I can do that will help.
- 4:29Me stay aligned on the left and on the right you make a list of
- 4:33things that take you out of alignment.
- 4:35So what is the purpose of this? Well, when you see what takes
- 4:39you out of alignment, you know that these are things that are
- 4:43stay away Danger. Will Robinson danger as I date
- 4:46myself with that one, but it is a.
- 4:50Imperative strategy to look at and say I don't, I don't want to
- 4:55do these misaligned activities. So I know without question that
- 5:00going for ice cream is a an absolute weakness for me.
- 5:04And if I do it, I'm going to eat it.
- 5:07It's just hands down, hands down, unless there's a key to
- 5:12this. Unless it's like, just like
- 5:15nasty ice cream shop ice cream. I won't eat it because I don't
- 5:19like that kind of ice cream. But if it's soft serve, I'm
- 5:21screwed. I'm going to eat the soft serve.
- 5:23So if my husband says, hey, should we go for ice cream?
- 5:26And I know I want to be aligned with myself, right?
- 5:29I say, well, you guys can have, you can go to this place that he
- 5:32likes to go to because he eats that other kind of hard ice
- 5:35cream. And I just don't like it.
- 5:36And so I'll say no. He'll say, oh, do you do you
- 5:39want to go to Turbocone? And I'm like, I want to, but I
- 5:42won't because it doesn't serve me.
- 5:44I would prefer that you guys go to where you want to go and I
- 5:47stay. Aligned with myself and then I
- 5:50feel good because I can recognize it and I can say, OK,
- 5:54this is it. Now we are going into the last
- 5:57quarter and I am hell bent on staying aligned.
- 6:00So I have a whole bunch of things for 90 days that I want
- 6:03to be aligned with, which is why I'm having this conversation
- 6:06with you as much for you as it is for me.
- 6:09Because I'm going to do things that are aligned and I'm not
- 6:13going to do things that are misaligned because they take
- 6:16away my progress. So I want you to all think about
- 6:21that here. We are entering into this last
- 6:24chunk of the year. Do things that are aligned.
- 6:28Do not do things that take you out of alignment and you will be
- 6:34exponentially happier. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:38you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:40Bye.
