- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production. Welcome to press play,
- 0:04Speaker 1: where we're going through the less instellar history of video
- 0:07Speaker 1: game movies. I'm Drew Shulman and with me is my
- 0:10Speaker 1: beef cheek bro, Jason Wynn, Matt Wivie. You're watching or
- 0:13Speaker 1: playing along, it's time to press play. I genuinely want
- 0:23Speaker 1: to know, like before I know, like we have a
- 0:25Speaker 1: format we talk about recaps, just like thumbs up or
- 0:29Speaker 1: thumbs down, like visually verbally this movie.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Oh, it's a funn sound. It's one of the hardest
- 0:37Speaker 2: thumming No, yeah, this is this is bad.
- 0:40Speaker 1: There was something about it that it kept having me
- 0:42Speaker 1: go like, oh, this is garbage, but like, no, is
- 0:45Speaker 1: that like it's garbage tomever, it isn't purely garbage by
- 0:48Speaker 1: missing something.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Oh no, that never occurred to me. This was hot garbage.
- 0:53Speaker 2: The only the only contemplation I had about this movie
- 0:57Speaker 2: is how garbage is it in the context of these movies,
- 1:01Speaker 2: because there's been a couple there's been a couple of
- 1:03Speaker 2: movies that we've watched where we're like, dude, I barely
- 1:06Speaker 2: watched this. I've got four notes and it was on
- 1:09Speaker 2: in the background and in my case, I wasted four
- 1:12Speaker 2: dollars on renting it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I'm let me know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I will find you copies, No, because then I'll get
- 1:21Speaker 2: relentless torrents and ads or viruses in my computers. That's
- 1:24Speaker 2: my that's my fear with seating and pirating. There is
- 1:28Speaker 2: something in the way you were raised, and it's hitting
- 1:29Speaker 2: you more than anything else. That is, it's Catholic guilt.
- 1:34Speaker 2: God will crucify me if I pirate this movie. And
- 1:37Speaker 2: that's why Jewish. That's the sole reason Jews don't.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Have a hell. Is that true? I didn't know that
- 1:45Speaker 1: there's no hell in Judaism. Oh okay. I think it
- 1:49Speaker 1: is just sort of like a limbo where you have
- 1:51Speaker 1: to repent for your sins and then once you've repented enough,
- 1:53Speaker 1: God's like, yeah, fuck it in there. Oh okay, Well
- 1:57Speaker 1: that's not a good Jew.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I could be off by quite a bit there, But
- 1:59Speaker 2: I know there was no hell. That's the common thing
- 2:00Speaker 2: we always talk about, got it. I need to process
- 2:03Speaker 2: this later, uh because we're talking about Hitman today, which
- 2:09Speaker 2: is not just like being an hel which you don't
- 2:14Speaker 2: have a concept for. But uh no, this this was bad.
- 2:17Speaker 1: This was bad.
- 2:19Speaker 2: From the get go. It could have been an okay movie.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It had the seats. You know, usually people are like, oh,
- 2:24Speaker 2: it had the seats to be a good movie. It
- 2:25Speaker 2: had the seeds to be an okay movie, and it
- 2:27Speaker 2: fucking fell on its ass on that it was terrible.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I could legitimately see a version of this movie where
- 2:33Speaker 1: like if you just re edit it and remove some
- 2:37Speaker 1: basically non action scenes and just do like a slight
- 2:41Speaker 1: narration over the whole thing as if it were like
- 2:43Speaker 1: communications seeing him and the agency, like it could actually
- 2:47Speaker 1: maybe sufficees like a decent okay film. I don't hate that,
- 2:50Speaker 1: Like even some of the fight scenes I felt were dumb.
- 2:53Speaker 1: But do you want to go back something you just said?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Though the idea of that, like sometimes we have like
- 2:56Speaker 1: very sparse notes because we were both like this movie
- 2:58Speaker 1: is just so bad, like black talk about it. I
- 3:01Speaker 1: think this like tipped the scale the other way and
- 3:03Speaker 1: then it was so bad. I had so much shit
- 3:06Speaker 1: to say about it. Yes, it was so bad.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It wasn't fun. What's still anne is it wasn't like
- 3:11Speaker 2: so bad it's fun, which I would say, like the
- 3:13Speaker 2: first five ish movies of the series. Week, Yeah, we're like, actually,
- 3:17Speaker 2: you know, what Mario Bros. At least is doing. This
- 3:19Speaker 2: says nothing interesting. This doesn't do anything interesting. It's not
- 3:24Speaker 2: fun it's not funny. There's nothing going on here. It's
- 3:28Speaker 2: just bad. But I hear people talk about it.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I've never seen it, but I always hear people talk
- 3:32Speaker 1: about the movie Jumper and how like, oh, it's just
- 3:35Speaker 1: like the cruise action scenes and it's like so like
- 3:37Speaker 1: cerebral and like. But it's like it's it's whatever. It's
- 3:41Speaker 1: a dumb movie. It's just it looks good and they
- 3:42Speaker 1: do like one or two smart things amongst a bunch
- 3:44Speaker 1: of garbage. Yeah, this is the same thing but without
- 3:48Speaker 1: the good parts. Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I think it's also very similar in that I don't
- 3:53Speaker 2: I think i've seen Jumper, but I also might have
- 3:56Speaker 2: seen the movie Push, and I don't remember the two.
- 3:59Speaker 2: They're kind of the same. And this movie is it's
- 4:02Speaker 2: like Jason Bourne Light. It's like if John Wick fell
- 4:06Speaker 2: on its head. Like it feels like so close.
- 4:09Speaker 1: This feels like like if this were being made today.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And I think it just even in a world where like, Okay,
- 4:16Speaker 1: we can be a bit more gratuitous with the action,
- 4:18Speaker 1: we can make the story a little bit like you know,
- 4:21Speaker 1: it's just it's a personal vendetta and the rest is
- 4:23Speaker 1: just action sequences based on that vendetta. Like we don't
- 4:25Speaker 1: need to shoehorn in a love interest and a sexual
- 4:30Speaker 1: whatever thing or like a weird government plot with clones,
- 4:34Speaker 1: Like it can just be action. This could have been
- 4:37Speaker 1: on the level of John Wick maybe in the right universe.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because it's all about espionage thrillers, right, And
- 4:46Speaker 2: I think a lot of those We talk about tropes
- 4:48Speaker 2: in movies because none of these video game movies are
- 4:50Speaker 2: good enough to build on anything. All they can do
- 4:53Speaker 2: is try to replicate tropes, which is so sad by
- 4:56Speaker 2: the way that they can't. Even there's a formula put
- 4:58Speaker 2: in front of them, ye, like a there's like a
- 5:01Speaker 2: recipe book that they're given, and then they still burn
- 5:04Speaker 2: the fucking milk. Like I don't understand what's happening there.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I think I think, like looking again, like looking ahead
- 5:10Speaker 1: at like what I say is like the weird like
- 5:13Speaker 1: modern apex of video game really a TV over a
- 5:17Speaker 1: movie more than anything else. While I do think Sonic
- 5:20Speaker 1: is a okay franchise and I've enjoyed them so far,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I don't think they're like cinema or like films will
- 5:27Speaker 1: remember versus things like Fallout in the Last of Us,
- 5:30Speaker 1: where it's like those will stand the test of time,
- 5:32Speaker 1: even if you drop the fact that, oh it was
- 5:34Speaker 1: based on a video game. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, but they're
- 5:39Speaker 1: fun watch. But I think the big thing, though, is
- 5:42Speaker 1: like I think what you're saying there is the it's
- 5:45Speaker 1: they had the formula, like the recipe is written and
- 5:48Speaker 1: rather than going, okay, let's just follow it, but instead
- 5:50Speaker 1: of a game, it's a movie. They were like, no, no, no, no,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it has to be completely different because the movies are
- 5:54Speaker 1: completely different. Video games are stupid and for kids. Movies
- 5:57Speaker 1: are for what people with feelings and emotions and thinking
- 6:02Speaker 1: about things, and British accent's because the fans of them.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I don't think this.
- 6:07Speaker 2: What I know about Hipman games though, is I don't
- 6:10Speaker 2: think that this is far off from a hit Man game.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I just think that playing this plot is more entertaining
- 6:18Speaker 2: than watching it, Like we're going to get into it
- 6:21Speaker 2: and how it is is an adaptation and there's some
- 6:24Speaker 2: notes that you put in. I think this is actually
- 6:26Speaker 2: a very faithful adaptation. The issue is this type of
- 6:30Speaker 2: person or character fucking sucks in cinema. Yeah, like does
- 6:34Speaker 2: that make sense? Like I once played Batman Arkham or no,
- 6:38Speaker 2: I think Matt borrowed Batman Arkham or something of the sort.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And he was like, you realize that Batman's like a
- 6:45Speaker 2: terrible character. I talk about Matt a lot, and that's
- 6:48Speaker 2: really funny only to me because he edits this, so
- 6:52Speaker 2: he has to listen to this. So it feels like
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'm talking to him about his ability to talk back,
- 6:56Speaker 2: and that's awesome.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Keep that in U.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But he was like, you know, Babman's not a good character.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's just the characters around him that are good. And
- 7:06Speaker 2: I had to think about I had to stew on
- 7:07Speaker 2: that a little bit. And it's fair because that gets
- 7:09Speaker 2: accentuated when you have to play the character versus reading
- 7:13Speaker 2: it as a comic book. And so sometimes these adaptations,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I'm okay with adaptations changing things. For instance, Halo the
- 7:20Speaker 2: TV series is very maligned by fans.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I've ever touched it.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I don't think Halo is a video game series is
- 7:28Speaker 2: entertaining to watch at fucking all. I don't think anything happens,
- 7:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So you gotta make changes
- 7:34Speaker 2: because that as a TV show is nothing, it's garbage.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So exactly, I think Halo is one of those franchises where,
- 7:40Speaker 1: like unlike The Last of Us or like a Fallout,
- 7:43Speaker 1: where there's like good bones and good plot and you
- 7:46Speaker 1: can just adapt into a story and drop the gameplay
- 7:48Speaker 1: elements but keep the story elements. Yeah, if you did
- 7:51Speaker 1: it to Halo, it would basically be I have the thing,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring it to that person, and they were
- 7:57Speaker 1: going to bring it to that person that take it
- 8:00Speaker 1: away from us, and all have to go get it back. Exactly.
- 8:04Speaker 1: It's like that. It's literally just a fetch quest with
- 8:07Speaker 1: a lot of shooting from A to B.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And I mean that's essentially this movie. But Drew, could
- 8:11Speaker 2: you do do a quick recap for us?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good this movie now though we've tried to
- 8:15Speaker 1: stall as much as we can with other franchises, but
- 8:17Speaker 1: I guess we have to talk about him and eventually.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So this film is about an orphan raised by a
- 8:21Speaker 1: shady organization to be a master assassin, now only known
- 8:25Speaker 1: by his number forty seven. A hit goes wrong, leading
- 8:28Speaker 1: to our edgy protagonist to flee from his regular routine
- 8:30Speaker 1: of murdering people. For money to instead murdering people for himself,
- 8:34Speaker 1: and now must unravel a sinister plot to rule Russia.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I think. Along the way, he kidnaps, tortures, threatens to kill, drugs,
- 8:41Speaker 1: and gets confusion bons over a Russian president's sex traffic
- 8:45Speaker 1: slave girl who refuses to wear enough clothing or underwear
- 8:49Speaker 1: this entire film. All the while, an Interpol agent tracks
- 8:52Speaker 1: Agent forty seven while dealing with the corrupt Russian police
- 8:55Speaker 1: captain that is secretly involved in the aforementioned Russian takeover plot.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Hell yeah, your standard espionage thriller.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm being honest.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And honestly, that's the pot of the hit Man games here,
- 9:09Speaker 2: Because hit Man, if you don't Know was released in
- 9:11Speaker 2: two thousand and is a stealth game franchise developed by
- 9:14Speaker 2: Danish developer Io Interactive. I didn't think I needed to
- 9:19Speaker 2: emphasize that, and Wikipedia felt necessary.
- 9:21Speaker 1: True.
- 9:23Speaker 2: The first four games were published under Idos Interactive, which
- 9:27Speaker 2: is different to critical and commercial success. There was a
- 9:30Speaker 2: soft reboot done by Square Enix later and then taken
- 9:33Speaker 2: over by Warner Bros. All of that to say is
- 9:36Speaker 2: every of the eight mainline games have been praised. They're
- 9:39Speaker 2: all generally positive for their open world take on stealth games,
- 9:45Speaker 2: allowing players to control age and forty seven and do
- 9:48Speaker 2: as they will please more or less to succeed in
- 9:52Speaker 2: their contract assassinations. It's pretty cool since it looks like
- 9:56Speaker 2: Io Interactive has taken over publishing themselves, which is always cool,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and they promised that the hit Man franchise has more
- 10:03Speaker 2: to come. Uh so, uh we go over the history
- 10:07Speaker 2: a lot. Looks like Hitman has succeeded, and it looks
- 10:10Speaker 2: like Hitman has come back to its own interesting developer,
- 10:13Speaker 2: which is which is interesting. Yeah, very cool. Not a
- 10:15Speaker 2: common story in these games that I have covered outside
- 10:19Speaker 2: of like Pendo games.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Uh so, I'd be curious, then, what is your, if
- 10:23Speaker 1: any relationship to the hit Man franchise, Like if you, oh, yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 1: franchise you play.
- 10:28Speaker 2: So I had in my youth, I had a PS two,
- 10:33Speaker 2: way too young, and I only wanted to play movie
- 10:36Speaker 2: ty in games like the Cars video game.
- 10:39Speaker 1: My that's so good. Yeah, it was awesome.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I love my Bummy uncle knew that I had a
- 10:47Speaker 2: PS two and would bum off me and buy video games.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And so I at a very young age, like the
- 10:53Speaker 2: same age that I was playing the Cars movie tie
- 10:55Speaker 2: in game, and like Jack and Daxter, I also got
- 10:57Speaker 2: access to things like so Calm Navies and hit Man two.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Uh so I played hit Man two as a kid. Okay,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it was very weird for me.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so I have a question, So I will say
- 11:11Speaker 1: my relationship to Hitman is surprisingly sparse, not spart. I
- 11:15Speaker 1: dislike stealth games. It is not a genre. Iyan elly. Yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 1: if a game has a stealth segment, like the Arkham games,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I like they're okay. But if your option was stealth
- 11:26Speaker 1: or go punch a bunch of dudes, yeah, was taking
- 11:29Speaker 1: the punchy route.
- 11:30Speaker 2: And let's be honest. Arkham and things like Assassin's Creed,
- 11:34Speaker 2: for instance, they say their stealth games by stealth. It
- 11:37Speaker 2: just means hey walk behind the guy or walk above
- 11:41Speaker 2: the guy. I have tried to play hit Man two,
- 11:44Speaker 2: the PS two game that I played as a child
- 11:46Speaker 2: like eight, like the same age I was playing Bionicles
- 11:49Speaker 2: and watching Power Rangers. I was also playing hit Man two.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I need very much for people to like understand these maturing.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Literally, like little Jason with a giant lollipop and the
- 11:58Speaker 1: propeller hats thing in front of the TV that wiggling,
- 12:02Speaker 1: just being like I've been an over of cars.
- 12:04Speaker 2: What's next, assassinate the Rusian president? Oh yeah, for sure, dude.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I was literally just like what it is a and
- 12:14Speaker 2: then I'm in Mostow.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, my.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Fucking move so I can kill this Russian Olivegard? What
- 12:21Speaker 2: the hell has happening? I'm trying to play it as
- 12:24Speaker 2: an adult. I have gotten less progress in hit Man
- 12:27Speaker 2: two than I did as a child. I can't pass.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't know what's happening. All I know is they
- 12:33Speaker 2: they've like abducted the priest who is taking me into
- 12:37Speaker 2: his wing, and I can't seem to save him.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So that was part of my question. That was, like, so,
- 12:42Speaker 1: where I do have a connection to the series is
- 12:45Speaker 1: specifically hit Man Go the mobile game, which has virtually
- 12:48Speaker 1: no story, but it's basically just like assassination puzzles, genuinely
- 12:53Speaker 1: fucking brilliant game. I met one of the designers Always
- 12:56Speaker 1: made in Montreal and like, wow, it was like praise
- 13:01Speaker 1: for days, like one amazing concept, Like yeah, so to
- 13:05Speaker 1: me it was always just that. And then the more
- 13:08Speaker 1: recent iteration. I don't know if it's still the active one,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but for the longest time, the guys over at achievement.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Hunters under Roots Street before they disbanded, would do a
- 13:17Speaker 1: lot of videos in that game, because essentially it was
- 13:19Speaker 1: just sort of like a one map or like a
- 13:21Speaker 1: few maps, and you would just get like a bunch
- 13:22Speaker 1: of missions, and new missions would be released very few
- 13:24Speaker 1: months digitally for free. Oh they would give you like
- 13:28Speaker 1: the weird challenges of like assassinate the chef using like food,
- 13:32Speaker 1: like you know, very specific things, or like you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: like kill so and so, but do it dress as
- 13:36Speaker 1: their husband or something like very like yeah, But like
- 13:40Speaker 1: there was, as far as I could tell a guest,
- 13:42Speaker 1: there was some story building in the world of like
- 13:44Speaker 1: what this event is and why were there and who
- 13:46Speaker 1: these people might be and why it's happening. But like
- 13:50Speaker 1: the hit Man himself was never really integral to the story.
- 13:53Speaker 1: He was just sort of think, there's a story happening,
- 13:55Speaker 1: But that guy needs his head blown off by a banana,
- 13:57Speaker 1: So I guess I kind of figure that a little
- 13:59Speaker 1: bit of bone banana and sneaking to him in the
- 14:01Speaker 1: middle of his meal. That is so. That is so.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I didn't know that the hit Man series got this far,
- 14:06Speaker 2: but it makes sense if Square Enix took over and.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Then things. Yeah, for sure, No, the hit Man.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I was familiar with, like because I've only seen that
- 14:17Speaker 2: opening scene so many times. He's just like, thank you,
- 14:21Speaker 2: father for protecting me. I will avenge you. He's just
- 14:25Speaker 2: the edgiest dude that's ever existed.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So it sounds like he maybe fits the hit Man
- 14:31Speaker 1: from this movie a little better than the one from
- 14:34Speaker 1: these games. Yeah.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Percent, he's he just monologues and he he has like
- 14:40Speaker 2: dual desert eagles, which is absolutely absurd, and it's it's
- 14:45Speaker 2: just awesome too to.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Just shoot dudes because that's all you be doing. Man. Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and you know what, sometimes like a game again, Like
- 14:52Speaker 1: that's what I m take away from the modern Hitman
- 14:54Speaker 1: games that, again I've only really watched the gameplay of
- 14:57Speaker 1: is the fact that like the story really doesn't really
- 15:00Speaker 1: matter when it's a really good execution and really good gameplay.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Like sometimes like yes, a great story can go hand
- 15:07Speaker 1: in hand, but other times you're just like, Okay, this
- 15:11Speaker 1: is just really good gameplay.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I think if you've ever wanted to role play, what
- 15:15Speaker 2: it's like to say, get a target set up and
- 15:20Speaker 2: whatever way you wanted, kill said target, gets some money.
- 15:23Speaker 2: This is the fucking game franchise for you. Right, You're
- 15:26Speaker 2: absolutely right, there's no there's no there's no need to
- 15:29Speaker 2: have a rhyme or reason. I think any of us
- 15:31Speaker 2: who have watched a John Wick esque movie, or any
- 15:34Speaker 2: movie that features assassins, I'm blinking on some now, or
- 15:37Speaker 2: like maybe James Bond. Even there's mission parameters, there's a target.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'd like to see how I would do that, if
- 15:43Speaker 2: you've ever had that thought process, This is the game
- 15:45Speaker 2: series for you.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Very bad for me.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, as I was trying to simultaneously enjoy Sly Cooper
- 15:53Speaker 2: and save Russia or kill Russia.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'm sure Russia's involved always that it was the times, Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: it was moving on to this this this again. We're
- 16:06Speaker 1: doing our best to fucking not talk about this movie,
- 16:08Speaker 1: but we have to do it eventually. Go straight into it,
- 16:10Speaker 1: go straight into it. I'm sorry, but like I think
- 16:13Speaker 1: I've harped on so many films starting with the like
- 16:16Speaker 1: here's an exposition dump, right, this movie does it visually
- 16:20Speaker 1: instead of just like a narration, and they do it
- 16:23Speaker 1: set the fucking ave Maria, and I feel like whoever
- 16:26Speaker 1: did that thinks it was like the biggest Like look
- 16:29Speaker 1: at my dick move like I'm so fucking cool. That
- 16:33Speaker 1: is like the I have a thirty inch penis and
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm proving it to you by putting classical music to
- 16:38Speaker 1: like this dark, edgy like It literally felt like a
- 16:42Speaker 1: kid making a fucking like anime like music video to
- 16:46Speaker 1: a Lincoln Park song. At this point, to me, it
- 16:47Speaker 1: was I would have preferred that.
- 16:50Speaker 2: That's not a bad that's not a bad comparison by
- 16:53Speaker 2: any means. Yeah, and the specifically what you're talking about too,
- 16:57Speaker 2: it's the most overused strope as well, where it's like
- 17:00Speaker 2: kid abducted trained hardcore at a young age, super soldier
- 17:05Speaker 2: s thing. I wrote a note here that said, this
- 17:07Speaker 2: movie walks so halo live action cinematics could run John
- 17:13Speaker 2: Wick World Bailding could sprint, and Black Widow origin scenes
- 17:16Speaker 2: could kind of like I don't know, prance around do
- 17:19Speaker 2: their thing.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But it's such a stroke, it just it really, you know,
- 17:25Speaker 1: on the head. They somehow did like the shittiest version
- 17:27Speaker 1: of and then each of these franchises did the right
- 17:29Speaker 1: They did it the right way.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Even Black Widow, which which which yes, brickneck speed. They
- 17:34Speaker 2: were like Avengers Trauma.
- 17:38Speaker 1: We're doing it, aren't we like it's it's so good.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I was genuinely about to say, like, I haven't seen
- 17:42Speaker 1: Black Widow, but I like, I believe you. No. I
- 17:45Speaker 1: did see Black Widow. It was just really unmemorable. That's
- 17:48Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Dude, everyone's done it.
- 17:50Speaker 2: It's always Russia and it's always super SOLDI kids, yes,
- 17:53Speaker 2: you know.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Fuck it. And for some reason, the movie that came
- 17:55Speaker 1: to mind for me was, oh fuck, was it a
- 17:58Speaker 1: sucker punch? The was in the the Asylum and they
- 18:02Speaker 1: were all like assassins and had powers. Reason I see it.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I see it in my head because I know the Trow. Yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 2: you know nothing about but oh yeah, Honorable mentioned it
- 18:13Speaker 2: was some.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Big name director too, and it was like his he
- 18:16Speaker 1: like just gone off the high of like a record
- 18:18Speaker 1: breaking movie and this was his follower.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he did the Trow. It's probably Zack Snyder.
- 18:24Speaker 2: It's probably Zach Schnider because you know why I know
- 18:27Speaker 2: that though, it's because I was gonna say, Honorable mentioned
- 18:30Speaker 2: the three hundred that did it. That's slightly different, slightly different,
- 18:34Speaker 2: and it's the same fucking guy's Zack Snyder. So fuck
- 18:38Speaker 2: Zack Snyder.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That's fantastic, We're off to the races, Bud. Yeah, So
- 18:42Speaker 1: continuing me trained of like dumb decisions, Like again, I
- 18:45Speaker 1: think video gave me this works in a real world scenario.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Let's make the world's greatest hit man one so well
- 18:51Speaker 1: disguised you will never spot him in a crowd. But
- 18:54Speaker 1: let's shave his head and put like a super obvious
- 18:56Speaker 1: tattoo that not only is like like pretty obvious when
- 19:00Speaker 1: you see it, but is theoretically a barcodes always one
- 19:03Speaker 1: hundred percent unique to him. Like, really, are you helping
- 19:08Speaker 1: it all by doing this?
- 19:09Speaker 2: Oh no, Yeah, you're absolutely right. Because let's also analyze
- 19:13Speaker 2: the fact that bald white guy is the most threatening
- 19:17Speaker 2: visage or silhouette that you probably have a bald white
- 19:21Speaker 2: guy from two thousand, from like the two thousands till now,
- 19:25Speaker 2: apparently because it's resurfaced, is a big fucking red flag
- 19:29Speaker 2: of Hey, are you a guy with early onset balding
- 19:32Speaker 2: patterns or are you a Nazi?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Either way, it's kind of dangerous. Like I think literally
- 19:38Speaker 1: it's the choice of clothing saves him from like looking
- 19:42Speaker 1: way more like a Maga row or like a Nazi
- 19:44Speaker 1: than he does.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Currently, And that is a very slight line because he's
- 19:49Speaker 2: definitely sporting the reddest tie ever.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, the tie definitely doesn't add to it.
- 19:54Speaker 1: If it was, especially with a longer tie, I'd be like, yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: fuck no, dude, you're done. You get canceled.
- 19:58Speaker 2: His narration, You're canceled, Agent forty seven, You're canceled. And
- 20:03Speaker 2: it's it's not the contract killings, it's the bald, wet
- 20:07Speaker 2: white guy.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Look all right. It's like, that's not cool. We shaved
- 20:11Speaker 1: your head like once as punishment. You don't have to
- 20:12Speaker 1: keep doing it.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Go to fucking Turkey, dude, shit like that exists. Now,
- 20:19Speaker 2: just put your hairline back. Yeah, So his narration doesn't
- 20:22Speaker 2: help in the first ten ten twenty minutes of Oh God, yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 2: I know, not rolling on.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I love your note about it. By the way, Oh, Like,
- 20:29Speaker 1: the movie feels like a fucking fourteen year old had
- 20:31Speaker 1: to direct the edgiest edge lord OC fanfic of an
- 20:34Speaker 1: assassin for hire. Like it really feels like they are
- 20:37Speaker 1: trying to cram in so much garbage into this character's
- 20:40Speaker 1: like backstory and emotions to like like I have read
- 20:47Speaker 1: like sonic ocs that are like the Shadow the hedgehog
- 20:51Speaker 1: OC's and it's like, that's what this reads as.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Honestly, Shadow is a perfect parallel. This guy is Shadow
- 20:58Speaker 2: the hedgehog, but don't the hedgehog kind of fucks because
- 21:02Speaker 2: it's like, what is this hedgehog doing with a gun?
- 21:04Speaker 2: That's already crazy.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I mean the fact that fucking Johnny Reeves plays Shadow
- 21:10Speaker 1: as John Wick is pretty fucking tight. Like it's the
- 21:13Speaker 1: he plays it the same.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I need to watch that movie. Uh maybe for this
- 21:18Speaker 2: load that load. Yeah, his his narration. I can't think
- 21:22Speaker 2: of any specific piece of dialogue because it's been about
- 21:24Speaker 2: a week since we've seen this. It's a break, but uh,
- 21:29Speaker 2: it's definitely to the effect of like, hey, what are
- 21:33Speaker 2: you doing here? I'm here to fuck your mother and
- 21:35Speaker 2: kill you. Like I don't know, it's it's just sh actually.
- 21:39Speaker 1: A cruel line. He doesn't even his like one liners
- 21:42Speaker 1: are like meant to be edgy, but he never gets
- 21:45Speaker 1: beyond just like the D line, it's he says it
- 21:48Speaker 1: like it's edgy, but the line is just I'm here
- 21:51Speaker 1: to kill someone they paid me to. It's like, yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you said that, like you think it's a catchphrase and
- 21:58Speaker 1: in reality you're just describing the thing you're doing. Uh,
- 22:03Speaker 1: like this really does have to me like that whole
- 22:06Speaker 1: like book or movie that was originally a fanfic but
- 22:09Speaker 1: got like popular and just sort of swapped out the
- 22:11Speaker 1: characters' names and identity and like ident off anything that
- 22:14Speaker 1: identified the ip to make it. Originally, like fifty Shades
- 22:18Speaker 1: of Great was literally a Twilight fan thing that got
- 22:20Speaker 1: so big they were just like, well, if we drop
- 22:23Speaker 1: the vampire shit and rename the characters and put it
- 22:25Speaker 1: in a big city, but keep the rest of the plot,
- 22:28Speaker 1: it's its own thing. Yeah, So, like this movie feels
- 22:31Speaker 1: like a Matrix fanfic where literally it is a self
- 22:34Speaker 1: insert of himself being better than Neo because he's darker
- 22:37Speaker 1: and better. But yeah, like doesn't have sex because sex
- 22:41Speaker 1: is gross, but like hot women still want to have
- 22:43Speaker 1: sex with him and he's just not having sex because
- 22:45Speaker 1: he doesn't want to because it's bad. He's a he's
- 22:50Speaker 1: a discord mod.
- 22:52Speaker 2: But yes, i'll what help you and I'll and I'll
- 22:56Speaker 2: take it from like a Matrix fanfic to like this
- 22:58Speaker 2: feels like your dad it's favorite book.
- 23:01Speaker 1: But somehow wouldn't.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yes, you know, like it's it's it's it's splinter Cell.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It's Jason Bourne before the Jason Bourne movies came out.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Actually this might have came out at the same time
- 23:12Speaker 2: as Jason Bourne. And it's But what's crazier about it
- 23:16Speaker 2: is it's even worse. It's like written worse. Yeah, it's Timu,
- 23:24Speaker 2: Tom Clancy race, Tom Clancy at home. We have so Gladdy,
- 23:30Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, it's it's definitely for sure, Walmart Jack Reacher.
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's insane. It's insane.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I just keep going. Yeah, it's it's pretty bad. It's
- 23:43Speaker 2: really early on to this movie. It's seventeen minutes. I
- 23:47Speaker 2: apparently it's seventeen minutes. I wrote this note Timothy Oliphant.
- 23:52Speaker 2: By the way, it's Timothy Oliphant, who I love. Dead
- 23:56Speaker 2: Wood is the Josh duelmelc character in the Office. He's
- 24:03Speaker 2: also in. He's just just so many great things.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I love it. It's a great actor. This is a
- 24:07Speaker 1: weird blight on his record.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a horrible blake. But at seventeen minutes in
- 24:13Speaker 2: he gets burned by his own organization. I feel like
- 24:16Speaker 2: that's crazy fucking early, dude. This movie's pacing is horrendous.
- 24:22Speaker 2: They blitz through the beginning and a good chunk of
- 24:25Speaker 2: the middle like early middle, and then like the middle
- 24:28Speaker 2: middle is just long for no reason. But yeah, we
- 24:33Speaker 2: barely have time to breathe and think that this guy's
- 24:35Speaker 2: a badass and that he has a relationship with this organization.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Seventeen minutes in, they fucking burn him. I don't give
- 24:43Speaker 2: a shit that they burned you at that point, you
- 24:45Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Oh, there was still a point where I'm like, after
- 24:49Speaker 1: having seen an entire movie, I'm still not sure what
- 24:52Speaker 1: this organization was, because they imply that it might have
- 24:55Speaker 1: just been the CIA he was working for the whole time,
- 24:57Speaker 1: like as a contract killer. I think it's called the office. Yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 1: but then there's also the implication that, oh, yeah, like
- 25:04Speaker 1: the same organization that like raised him essentially, Oh, it's
- 25:08Speaker 1: definitely that. Yeah, it's definitely that, like as much as
- 25:11Speaker 1: like I think that's what it is, and I'm fairly
- 25:13Speaker 1: confident it is. But there was a point where it's like,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm not sure, like what the implication is here, Like,
- 25:17Speaker 1: so was he birned by the CIA, but now he's
- 25:19Speaker 1: cool with the CIA again or like.
- 25:21Speaker 2: No, No, the CIA was like a contact he had
- 25:24Speaker 2: he had talked to him previously.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But there was also like an implication at the end
- 25:28Speaker 1: even after that, like after he shows up the place
- 25:30Speaker 1: and like like you know, talks about like you know,
- 25:31Speaker 1: killing the other guy that wasn't him, that like somehow
- 25:35Speaker 1: that connects to like he's still working for the CIA
- 25:37Speaker 1: or some bullshit, like there's sure.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Not clear, Yeah, right, right right, it was sequel bait
- 25:43Speaker 2: that well, you didn't get a sequel four, I understand now. Luckily, Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 2: it ultimately didn't matter to me because it just felt
- 25:50Speaker 2: so because it's the it's the woman on the phone
- 25:54Speaker 2: that has a code name that gives you your like missions,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and it's so trophy, it's so an original. We've seen
- 26:02Speaker 2: this a million bazillion times before, so I really didn't
- 26:06Speaker 2: give a shit, and it happened so fast that really, yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 2: it's just hold on, how many how many fucking we
- 26:12Speaker 2: don't press his button often? How many fucking just oh
- 26:15Speaker 2: my god, just span the ship, dude.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Oh man, if that were true vibes that the episode
- 26:21Speaker 1: would just be called a hit man. That sound effect outro.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, just page just a super pain all the time.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Oh god, It's it really is like yeah, and like.
- 26:31Speaker 1: And even like the pacing of the film itself, like
- 26:33Speaker 1: so they have like they somehow they have tracked him
- 26:35Speaker 1: down to this hotel. I don't really understand how we're
- 26:38Speaker 1: why that happens. I think maybe the implication is like
- 26:41Speaker 1: whoever hired him and is burning him is like also
- 26:44Speaker 1: leaking this information to the CIA and the cops. Sure,
- 26:47Speaker 1: and then they just like outside of the hotel, in
- 26:51Speaker 1: like playing view of the hotel, put together an entire
- 26:55Speaker 1: like thirty four person swat team under the guys of
- 26:59Speaker 1: like don't tell him were coming for him season whatever
- 27:07Speaker 1: other voice, Yeah, oh my god, and it's just like,
- 27:10Speaker 1: this is your plan, brilliant.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Hold on as you're saying that though his escape route
- 27:15Speaker 2: as after getting burned, we forgot to mention that he
- 27:18Speaker 2: killed like a Russian politician. So all this gets set
- 27:22Speaker 2: up so fucking quickly. Oh, we almost zero set up
- 27:25Speaker 2: that he's a contract killer, because honestly, all you have
- 27:28Speaker 2: to say is he's a contract killer. That's that's done
- 27:30Speaker 2: and fast. Uh, he's a he's a super soldier, baby,
- 27:33Speaker 2: We we did that. We know those tropes. That's how
- 27:35Speaker 2: little this movie values itself, is that it runs through
- 27:39Speaker 2: the origin and the Crux for the first mission and
- 27:42Speaker 2: then the burn, all in seventeen minutes. And as he's
- 27:45Speaker 2: leaving here right his escape plan from this, he passes
- 27:49Speaker 2: by two kids playing hit Man. Yeah, you put a
- 27:54Speaker 2: plus one on that note.
- 27:56Speaker 1: That is the only redeeming factor for this entire fucking film.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I okay, so I'm gonna play the plus one if
- 28:05Speaker 1: the one it guess the night that is done? That
- 28:08Speaker 1: being dead. You can understall that button. Now you can
- 28:11Speaker 1: eat that button.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Sure, because I will because that being said, the one,
- 28:15Speaker 2: the one point you're gonna give this movie. Let's talk
- 28:18Speaker 2: about this. Let's talk about this, okay, because it's an
- 28:22Speaker 2: easter egg. Obviously, it's in the video game series. He's
- 28:25Speaker 2: a steaky little moment. It's probably the only humorous moment in.
- 28:28Speaker 1: The entire movie. Yeah, what does this mean?
- 28:32Speaker 2: What is this?
- 28:32Speaker 1: What does this? Stop? Stop? What does this mean? Drew?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Because he level bulls ran about what does this mean? Okay?
- 28:43Speaker 2: Because in this universe he's a secret Hitman organization, which
- 28:48Speaker 2: not very secret at all. He's mister cleaning it over here.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But there's a video game about them, So does that
- 28:55Speaker 2: mean that they're so popular that they made a video game?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Series about that, which defeats the whole of secret contract
- 29:01Speaker 2: killers because arrest him, immediately shoot him, he's a contract killer?
- 29:06Speaker 1: Or does it mean that like in someone played this the.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Hit Man series existed, right, and someone who was simultaneously
- 29:15Speaker 2: like should I get Lightning McQueen cars or should I
- 29:18Speaker 2: get hit Man too? Was like, better, I'll just make
- 29:22Speaker 2: my own organization. And so again it's a very public
- 29:26Speaker 2: ip where they're also killing people, and how is the
- 29:30Speaker 2: police not caught on?
- 29:31Speaker 1: What's What's also the time travel that would entail, because
- 29:35Speaker 1: that would mean the games have to come out first,
- 29:37Speaker 1: so like two the year two thousand, Yeah, they would
- 29:39Speaker 1: need to retroactually go back and kidnap these children or
- 29:43Speaker 1: at least this one child to like program into a
- 29:46Speaker 1: hit Man. Yes, those are all fake memories and it's
- 29:49Speaker 1: just someone who's like obsessed with the game. Is another possibility,
- 29:52Speaker 1: a weird like mazes and monsters thing.
- 29:54Speaker 2: That that's the same thing, right, You're absolutely right, because
- 29:59Speaker 2: it like a British person, maybe not even a British person,
- 30:02Speaker 2: just someone saying, you know what, I'm James Bond now
- 30:05Speaker 2: and I'm gonna go around being a secret agent for
- 30:09Speaker 2: the British government, and I'm gonna go around and I'm
- 30:11Speaker 2: gonna tell people I'm James Bond, so I'm gonna go
- 30:14Speaker 2: on real spy missions. Let's say, let's infiltrate a real
- 30:19Speaker 2: country and then be like, what's your name? Oh me,
- 30:23Speaker 2: I'm Bond, James Bond, and then everyone laughs in your
- 30:25Speaker 2: face because that's fucking crazy. And then you shoot one
- 30:28Speaker 2: of them and are arrested forever exactly. You're good enough
- 30:32Speaker 2: to be James Bond exactly. But then what if you are,
- 30:35Speaker 2: because again that's the implication of this movie, because if
- 30:38Speaker 2: you are, the second you enter any airport, arrest, you arrest,
- 30:42Speaker 2: You're done. You're James Bond. That's crazy. You can't be right,
- 30:45Speaker 2: especially if you're if.
- 30:46Speaker 1: The description of the person is six foot tall, bald
- 30:50Speaker 1: white man with a barcode tattoo to the back of
- 30:52Speaker 1: his head, put on a fucking hand, and I still
- 30:55Speaker 1: think you'd be easy to spot you.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Jail, Yeah, instant jail. You're done, so you're not assassinating.
- 31:01Speaker 1: My dumb If I had to pitch a theory to
- 31:03Speaker 1: how this all makes sense in universe for some bullshit reason,
- 31:06Speaker 1: what's the best way to hide your organization.
- 31:10Speaker 2: No, because again that's like me going around saying I'm
- 31:13Speaker 2: James bad. No.
- 31:14Speaker 1: No, it's reverse you. You dissuade it ever exists, because
- 31:19Speaker 1: it's just like, oh, people make up bullshit. It's all
- 31:21Speaker 1: just based on the stupid video game that we also
- 31:23Speaker 1: publish and produce and do nothing else shady behind the scenes.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I don't know about this, Drew.
- 31:29Speaker 2: If I just started Yeah, I was about to say,
- 31:31Speaker 2: what if I just started selling insurance with telling people I.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Was Goku and then I punched people for fun? What
- 31:37Speaker 1: are we talking about?
- 31:38Speaker 3: It is it?
- 31:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I feel crazy right now. I feel insane crazy pills. Yeah, anyways,
- 31:47Speaker 2: fuck that scene. That seems stupid. Fuck you, I'm taking that,
- 31:52Speaker 2: you know what? Fair valideh except that.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm a wizard.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Ah, I don't know.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I'm going it that works at ideas. No. See, if
- 32:05Speaker 1: you were actually a wizard and then published a book
- 32:08Speaker 1: about the wizarding world that was clearly air quotes fictional,
- 32:13Speaker 1: that's how you would do it. You hide it by
- 32:15Speaker 1: making it a fake thing in a book so that
- 32:17Speaker 1: no one thing in real life. You're right, I do it.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I'm banksy. Everyone watched me lick my own balls. Now,
- 32:23Speaker 2: I don't know this is I'm going insane. I can't
- 32:26Speaker 2: do this anymore.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I want them on a T shirt Watch my own balls.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah that's what goes right. Thanks, he's just a just
- 32:38Speaker 1: a poodle.
- 32:39Speaker 2: This is Banksy's official podcast. Everyone, you're fucking morons?
- 32:43Speaker 1: How about that? Oh you got so far off the
- 32:45Speaker 1: rails this movie? Oh god, okay, I just still mid.
- 32:54Speaker 2: This movie where wait, wait he runs off. He meets
- 32:59Speaker 2: the cop who's like, I'm chasing this ghost aged forty seven,
- 33:02Speaker 2: and I'm gonna take him down. But also I believe
- 33:05Speaker 2: in him so much that the other cops are bad,
- 33:08Speaker 2: and therefore I'm allying. It's it's another one of those
- 33:11Speaker 2: tropes where the cop that chases you inadvertently becomes your
- 33:15Speaker 2: ally because he believes in you.
- 33:17Speaker 1: That's it, he's the other cops are corrupt cops. They're
- 33:20Speaker 1: after you for the wrong reasons. You're out for the
- 33:23Speaker 1: right reasons. You're a good run it, Jason Bourne, run it.
- 33:26Speaker 1: This is the same shit, man. Yeah, i'ven seen these
- 33:29Speaker 1: in years, and even I'm like, yeah, that's that's tired.
- 33:31Speaker 1: That's so old. Also, just like from a movie editing perspective,
- 33:37Speaker 1: like I understand that sometimes things happen you don't catch them.
- 33:40Speaker 1: The coffee cup in that episode of Game of Thrones,
- 33:43Speaker 1: or like an extra in a background not wearing the
- 33:45Speaker 1: right things. They look out of place. If you're editing
- 33:48Speaker 1: footage of a person with a tattoo on one side
- 33:51Speaker 1: of their face, a very distinct teacher mirror the footage
- 33:55Speaker 1: halfway through randomlyse and her tattoo flips to the other
- 33:57Speaker 1: side for no reason, Like what, how how do you
- 34:01Speaker 1: get away with that? I'm anger belief.
- 34:05Speaker 2: You get away with that because even though I read
- 34:07Speaker 2: that note of yours, I didn't notice it watching it.
- 34:09Speaker 2: And that might have been because I was reading your
- 34:11Speaker 2: note as I was watching the scene, but I didn't
- 34:13Speaker 2: notice it. But I will, I will highlight there is
- 34:16Speaker 2: a character is there's this unwitting female accomplished his whole
- 34:19Speaker 2: situation with the romance sexual bit that you mentioned. Let's
- 34:23Speaker 2: at least introduce it to the listeners here. So he
- 34:26Speaker 2: he picks up what is this who is essentially the
- 34:29Speaker 2: scapegoat of this like political assassination?
- 34:33Speaker 1: She is the.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Prostitute girlfriend slash entrapped slave of the said political victim,
- 34:42Speaker 2: who is somehow still alive. She's played by Oga Kerlankio, who.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna run that.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but she's task Master in the MCU and
- 34:56Speaker 2: was an oblivion very cool actress.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Honestly didn't even like look up the cast that much
- 35:01Speaker 1: for this one, so I was like, I don't recognize
- 35:03Speaker 1: any of these names. I didn't know that together. Oh good, yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: what good? Yeah, very good actress. I like her a lot.
- 35:09Speaker 1: She's very good in this movie. I'll be honest.
- 35:11Speaker 2: She's, Yeah, my redeeming light in this movie is I
- 35:14Speaker 2: think that she plays this also like the character in
- 35:17Speaker 2: pulp Fiction is very kin to that as well. She
- 35:20Speaker 2: plays this like almost manic pixie dream girl. It's basically there.
- 35:26Speaker 1: It feels like it again, like using the fourteen year
- 35:29Speaker 1: old tain thick. It's the this is a man dream
- 35:32Speaker 1: girl but for grown ups.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yes exactly. And I will say that she is supposed
- 35:37Speaker 2: to be this foil to Agent forty seven super stoicism.
- 35:42Speaker 2: It kind of works for me. I do find her
- 35:44Speaker 2: being quite charismatic.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I won't lie. I think she is good. I think
- 35:49Speaker 1: she is a very fun character. I think her role
- 35:52Speaker 1: as a foil to him is well done. And she
- 35:55Speaker 1: is a very fun character. Like I feel like the
- 35:58Speaker 1: restaurants scene they have together a little bit like weird
- 36:00Speaker 1: in out of place, but like otherwise there are conversations
- 36:03Speaker 1: like the jokes about like you know, like eat the
- 36:05Speaker 1: sandwich or put you back in the trunk kind of
- 36:06Speaker 1: thing where he's like, clearly I care about you, but
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm still an ass and I have to prove myself. Yes.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Oh god, it just doesn't fit in this film and
- 36:15Speaker 1: what this film is trying to do. It's so no
- 36:17Speaker 1: place in this film. But in another film with this
- 36:20Speaker 1: character it.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Could work absolutely, you know what. I agree with that
- 36:25Speaker 2: point so well, because it's the building. It's their relationship
- 36:30Speaker 2: I think is quite organic in the way that she
- 36:33Speaker 2: breaks him down slowly. It's it's almost mister and missus Smith. Like.
- 36:39Speaker 2: The thing is I like mister Missus Smith that movie,
- 36:42Speaker 2: and that was the whole movie is the undercut sexual
- 36:47Speaker 2: chemistry and tension of those two characters. You're absolutely right
- 36:50Speaker 2: in this movie where it's being serious and is bad.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher, it is really out of place.
- 36:58Speaker 2: It is very bad.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I will say, like another like small thing
- 37:04Speaker 1: is like they don't do the force there together at
- 37:06Speaker 1: the end thing like he obviously that last moment, he's like,
- 37:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna make sure you're set off of your villa
- 37:11Speaker 1: in Italy dream you had, and like it won't be
- 37:14Speaker 1: with me, clearly, but it'll be somewhere safe. It's like,
- 37:16Speaker 1: you know what, I like that, Like you realize you
- 37:18Speaker 1: can't get out of his life. You can't give her
- 37:20Speaker 1: a good life. You can't give her a good life
- 37:21Speaker 1: while you're in her life. So at least if you're
- 37:24Speaker 1: gonna like set her off, like give her her dream. Right,
- 37:28Speaker 1: We get to the train platform chase, which turns into
- 37:32Speaker 1: a three online sword fight, which is just I don't
- 37:36Speaker 1: think I hate the trope because I think other movies
- 37:38Speaker 1: have done it well. But the Okay, you're a rogue agent.
- 37:43Speaker 1: You have broken the rules of her organization, and we
- 37:45Speaker 1: are now all hunting you, which is like a It
- 37:47Speaker 1: seemingly is a big deal if this organization that's like
- 37:50Speaker 1: the world's greatest hitman are sending three to four people
- 37:53Speaker 1: after him of his own agents, like his own agents. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 1: but we still have to have honor among ourselves and
- 38:02Speaker 1: fight honorably, so let's not you know, just win this
- 38:05Speaker 1: and like, do our job, but let's do the honorable
- 38:08Speaker 1: thing and fight with our fisher price my first sword,
- 38:11Speaker 1: baby sword.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So they have a Mexican standoff, which is in a
- 38:21Speaker 2: it's a four way Mexican standoff with one each other.
- 38:26Speaker 2: That's exactly what I was gonna say. The part that's
- 38:29Speaker 2: silly to me is not the sword fight. The part
- 38:31Speaker 2: that is silly to me is there's three bald men,
- 38:34Speaker 2: three bald men fighting one bald man. Why are other
- 38:38Speaker 2: why are the other bald men pointing guns at each other?
- 38:42Speaker 2: Just kill? Just put all three, all six of your guns,
- 38:45Speaker 2: because you have two hands each towards the one bald
- 38:48Speaker 2: man you're chasing.
- 38:49Speaker 1: What do we do? That's stupid? Could you have implied
- 38:52Speaker 1: there's a like price on his head? So whoever it
- 38:55Speaker 1: gets the killed gets money, and that's why you're competing
- 38:57Speaker 1: with each other. But no, because who's the sword it happens,
- 39:00Speaker 1: it's clearly three v one exactly, and so that's that.
- 39:04Speaker 1: And even if you gave them the credit of like, oh,
- 39:08Speaker 1: they're all in it for themselves, why wouldn't you kill him,
- 39:12Speaker 1: then kill each other if he's the best one three
- 39:15Speaker 1: v one and then kill each other for the prize.
- 39:18Speaker 1: What are we fucking doing that time? Oh? He's the best?
- 39:21Speaker 1: Is there a ranking system? Are they aware? Like our
- 39:24Speaker 1: best fucking agent?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's agent forty seven out of forty seven. It's
- 39:28Speaker 2: a ranking system, and there's only forty seven. He is
- 39:31Speaker 2: the bottom ladder?
- 39:33Speaker 1: Or is he the top? Because one's at the bottom,
- 39:37Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. I don't know. It's not
- 39:40Speaker 1: anyway to work for he where's agent forty eight? I
- 39:48Speaker 1: will also just say, for the sake of anyone who
- 39:49Speaker 1: might argue with me, because I know I've been corrected
- 39:51Speaker 1: on the online before I am aware of. These small
- 39:54Speaker 1: swords are wakeazashi traditional short sword used in ancient Japan,
- 39:58Speaker 1: but they're most commonly uses us backup to a katana
- 40:01Speaker 1: when in can find spaces or smaller arenas, or when disarmed,
- 40:05Speaker 1: or in rare cases dual wielded, but never the two together.
- 40:08Speaker 1: You'll never use two wakizashi. That's not a thing you
- 40:10Speaker 1: would ever do. And there's no I like scoured via
- 40:13Speaker 1: it to see like is there where you might know?
- 40:16Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you, Drew, you did too much
- 40:18Speaker 2: work for that little or no one's correcting us on
- 40:21Speaker 2: hip Man. If someone wants to correct us on hit Man,
- 40:24Speaker 2: go back about uh, I don't know. Four minutes in
- 40:28Speaker 2: this episode where I ranted and went insane about it,
- 40:32Speaker 2: was gonna.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Say, go back several weeks and stop us from watching it.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Oh sure, yeah, absolutely, getting your time machine the same
- 40:38Speaker 1: one they used to make the video game for the movie.
- 40:40Speaker 1: In the video game for the movie, So I think
- 40:44Speaker 1: I'm blow vessels burst? Sorry, what where are we go?
- 40:47Speaker 2: Shove a fucking banana up you're ass or whatever they
- 40:49Speaker 2: do with new ones. Okay, dress up a chef and
- 40:52Speaker 2: call me daddy or something. Whatever you said about the
- 40:55Speaker 2: new games.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I'm prey sure it's a mission somewhere.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Someone dressing up as a chef, calling me daddy and
- 41:04Speaker 2: shoving a banana up there ass seems like a crazy
- 41:07Speaker 2: sex stream at some.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Almost finish out there. And if it's yours, good on you.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Don't call us, but good on you, Oh goddess. At
- 41:15Speaker 1: this point, like I said, I think, at this point
- 41:17Speaker 1: the movie kind of just goes like really off the
- 41:19Speaker 1: rails plot wise, like not and like, oh it's wild, insaney,
- 41:22Speaker 1: just like they the train that you were fighting under
- 41:25Speaker 1: is now derailed. And they're just like kill some people,
- 41:29Speaker 1: shoot some things, some weird intention uh, some dialogue moments,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and like, guess we'll get to an ending eventually. Yeah,
- 41:36Speaker 1: it's fascinating.
- 41:37Speaker 2: The simpler the plot becomes, the longer it takes for
- 41:42Speaker 2: him to get from point A to point B, if
- 41:44Speaker 2: that makes any sense. So the idea is he was
- 41:47Speaker 2: given a very simple job of assassinating this Russian politician.
- 41:51Speaker 2: He definitely kills him. He burst his head open, and
- 41:54Speaker 2: then it turns out that that guy's still alive somehow.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Oh my god, how has he done that?
- 41:59Speaker 1: How is he too? Places in once? Blah blah blah.
- 42:02Speaker 2: It's very obvious, and it's alluded to for such a
- 42:05Speaker 2: long long time that there's a body double out there,
- 42:10Speaker 2: and then he wants to kill that politician's brother to
- 42:16Speaker 2: lure out the politician. Uh, just double, and we don't
- 42:21Speaker 2: is it is the is the double like the real
- 42:24Speaker 2: politician or.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Just a new guy at this moment. No, So there
- 42:26Speaker 1: is a moment when he shows up. I think they're
- 42:28Speaker 1: in a morgue for some reason, like the actual body
- 42:31Speaker 1: of the president, who they never show because they don't
- 42:33Speaker 1: have right held the technology to show two people in
- 42:35Speaker 1: two for camera angles. At one time they couldn't face
- 42:38Speaker 1: goddamn it. Oh, don't worry. Honestly, the face off comparisons,
- 42:42Speaker 1: I have another one to make it a second. Oh okay.
- 42:45Speaker 1: It's like implied that he had like facial reconstruction surgery
- 42:48Speaker 1: that was very painful to look like the president, to
- 42:50Speaker 1: be a double I guess this is his way of
- 42:53Speaker 1: getting revengefully. Did he do this to eventually take over
- 42:57Speaker 1: for him or did he just coincidentally go, well, look
- 43:00Speaker 1: like him now, So if I hire someone to kill
- 43:01Speaker 1: him and then make it look like they failed the killing,
- 43:03Speaker 1: so I'm actually a lie, but in reality, the real
- 43:06Speaker 1: one is dead and I take his place and people
- 43:09Speaker 1: will just be okay with this, even though we physically
- 43:11Speaker 1: have his body in a morgue and like eventually like
- 43:15Speaker 1: it's gonna like what are they just gonna get rid
- 43:16Speaker 1: of the body or they're like holding on to a
- 43:18Speaker 1: safe keeping What is the plan here? Exactly?
- 43:21Speaker 2: The blurb you just went on for about I would
- 43:23Speaker 2: say twenty five seconds, by the way, is more information
- 43:27Speaker 2: than the movie.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they just kind of gloss over it.
- 43:31Speaker 2: They're like, I'm the real gad now I'm Russia. And
- 43:34Speaker 2: Russia is strong. That's about as in depth as they
- 43:37Speaker 2: go with it.
- 43:38Speaker 1: What I think they assume is a big reveal that
- 43:41Speaker 1: the other corrupt cop is in on this, because there's
- 43:44Speaker 1: no figured.
- 43:45Speaker 2: That shrivily evil Russian guy that's ever existed, who's also
- 43:50Speaker 2: a bald white man is And at every turn the
- 43:53Speaker 2: good cops like, shouldn't we do this, and he's like, no,
- 43:56Speaker 2: we do.
- 43:57Speaker 1: The thing that is exactly the opposite of the good
- 43:59Speaker 1: thing to do. Right now, tap my fingers together, like
- 44:01Speaker 1: mister Burns exactly. He looks like mister Burns. Yeah. Anyways,
- 44:06Speaker 1: Uh so you brought up face off, but also you
- 44:10Speaker 1: brought up the shootout or the killing the brother as
- 44:14Speaker 1: this whole plot point to get it to show itself.
- 44:16Speaker 1: There is something about that shootout that like, I kind
- 44:19Speaker 1: of like because it is just kind of a really
- 44:20Speaker 1: fun It's like the one fun action scene in the
- 44:22Speaker 1: movie where it's just like, here's a good here's someone
- 44:25Speaker 1: who knows what they're fucking doing with a gun, versus
- 44:28Speaker 1: a roomful of drunken high idiots who just had a
- 44:31Speaker 1: bunch of expensive toys and don't know what they're doing.
- 44:33Speaker 2: The quality of this movie is very telling when we
- 44:36Speaker 2: can't agree which action scene is better. You don't like
- 44:39Speaker 2: the sword scene. I thought it was silly and fun.
- 44:41Speaker 2: I thought this scene was met. You thought it was
- 44:44Speaker 2: silly and fun. It's all bad gang it's straws.
- 44:49Speaker 1: But I did, and this is I sort of got
- 44:51Speaker 1: it in my notes because I was gonna say, if
- 44:53Speaker 1: I think it is for it as like okay as
- 44:56Speaker 1: it was not even as good as was as okay
- 44:57Speaker 1: as it was, ye saw did it better with their
- 45:00Speaker 1: fucking drug den shootout scene? Oh shoot? Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 45:03Speaker 1: I see where you're Yeah yeah, So literally we have
- 45:06Speaker 1: we have the face Off. We have like a shitty
- 45:08Speaker 1: version of the face Off plot, a shitty version of
- 45:10Speaker 1: the face Off like like action scenes. Yeah, I swear
- 45:15Speaker 1: to god, all we need is Don Travolta hitting on
- 45:17Speaker 1: it underage girl and we have face Off.
- 45:20Speaker 2: John Travolta would have made this movie interesting.
- 45:22Speaker 1: So your cage, you know what, we should have just
- 45:23Speaker 1: watched Face Off. We're at the end of this movie.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Let's just like hammer through it, Like what else do
- 45:29Speaker 1: we have? Not much happens. Honestly, I did read some
- 45:34Speaker 1: like behind the scenes like random facts, and they were
- 45:36Speaker 1: all boring in garbage. I think, like the three big
- 45:38Speaker 1: takeaways were the thing with the rubber ducky with the
- 45:42Speaker 1: noose is like a thing from one of the games apparently,
- 45:46Speaker 1: Oh okay, gotcha, Like that's a game callback. I guess,
- 45:49Speaker 1: good for them, Okay, But like even the whole thing,
- 45:52Speaker 1: like does having him radio in clearly in distress that
- 45:55Speaker 1: you should kill him to your private calm in some
- 45:59Speaker 1: way like make him the bad guy now in a
- 46:02Speaker 1: way that like you couldn't before, Like what is the
- 46:06Speaker 1: point of that, Like, Oh, I need you to be
- 46:08Speaker 1: the one to order the hit or else you'll die.
- 46:10Speaker 1: And it's like, or you just kill both of them.
- 46:13Speaker 1: You're a fucking hit man for hire? Why is there
- 46:15Speaker 1: suddenly a more quandrary but murder?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Hitman's agent forty seven s Timoff and whatever you
- 46:20Speaker 2: want to call him. His plan to draw out the
- 46:24Speaker 2: body double the main villain is to have the secondary
- 46:28Speaker 2: corrupt cop kill his own. So he tells his people
- 46:33Speaker 2: to kill the guy instead of hit Man doing it.
- 46:36Speaker 2: And so to Drew's point, why not just kill everyone?
- 46:39Speaker 2: Why not just do it?
- 46:40Speaker 1: I don't know?
- 46:42Speaker 2: So yeah, so he yeah, he kidnapped the corrupt cop
- 46:47Speaker 2: if of police, the security detail, and so he strung
- 46:50Speaker 2: him up and tortured him and said, if you don't
- 46:52Speaker 2: kill him at this exact moment, or order the kill
- 46:55Speaker 2: on him on this exact moment, you will die. And
- 46:58Speaker 2: so the reveal, which has been done in a million
- 47:01Speaker 2: movies before, is that he calls the hit because he's
- 47:04Speaker 2: scared for his life. The time passes, he didn't die
- 47:10Speaker 2: the corrupt cop, so regardless of whether or not he
- 47:13Speaker 2: ordered the hit, he wasn't going to die. So he's
- 47:16Speaker 2: cowardly enough because it's dishonorable. I suppose he's cowardly enough
- 47:20Speaker 2: to order the hit on his own president for whatever
- 47:22Speaker 2: the fuck, and it fails anyways, which allows hitman to
- 47:27Speaker 2: suss him out, and then he can single the body
- 47:30Speaker 2: double president out to kill him himself, extremely convoluted, knowing
- 47:35Speaker 2: that he could just snipe the shit out of the stud.
- 47:38Speaker 1: So I have an issue with the scene regardless. But
- 47:40Speaker 1: also like I did not take that away from the
- 47:43Speaker 1: conversation with the guy in the bathtub. Yeah, I thought
- 47:46Speaker 1: it was just him saying I need you to walk
- 47:49Speaker 1: me Agent forty seven requesting the hit.
- 47:53Speaker 2: No, so he says, I need you to tell your
- 47:57Speaker 2: men o somehow miss that.
- 48:00Speaker 1: No, You're totally fine. It doesn't matter, and it's so
- 48:03Speaker 1: poorly explained, even when it is like clearly the number
- 48:05Speaker 1: of things I've sussed out that you were like what
- 48:07Speaker 1: the fuck? And I'm like I got this one wrong. No,
- 48:09Speaker 1: you're yeah exactly.
- 48:10Speaker 2: That happens very often when we do this project, is
- 48:13Speaker 2: one of us pay attention or missus a thing just
- 48:16Speaker 2: so happens that I did pay attention to this one.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Yeah, what was happening? That's why rubber ducky.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:24Speaker 1: And then we also have the fact that like world's
- 48:27Speaker 1: allegedly world's greatest assassin over here, Like that's bulletproof last.
- 48:31Speaker 1: You know, it's bulletproof last. There is not a world
- 48:34Speaker 1: in which he's standing behind glass in public with armed
- 48:37Speaker 1: guards that it's not bulletproof glass. So let's just fire
- 48:40Speaker 1: like five rounds on the sniper rifle into it. Maybe
- 48:42Speaker 1: we'll get lucky. Like again, I think the implication is
- 48:47Speaker 1: that like the ultimate plan was to get him to
- 48:49Speaker 1: flee and somehow convince him to go into that one
- 48:51Speaker 1: specific room that he had a key for, Yeah, because
- 48:55Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna flee anywhere else.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Yeah, hit man couldn't have just John Zwilkes booth him
- 49:04Speaker 2: and just con behind the bulletproof Guys, fucking put a
- 49:07Speaker 2: bullet in his head.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Clearly he has the tools and the laborc shit to do.
- 49:10Speaker 1: He could have just set a bomb off, but you know,
- 49:12Speaker 1: like or like you know, replaced the glass with not
- 49:15Speaker 1: bulletproof glass beforehand, because fucking he's the super assassin, sneaky boy.
- 49:19Speaker 2: What he should have done is dressed up as a
- 49:21Speaker 2: chef and then killed him.
- 49:23Speaker 1: There you go, banana bombs.
- 49:27Speaker 2: He gets a delivery in the box is a banana,
- 49:30Speaker 2: and he's like, oh, he peels a banana, cut the bugs.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Buddy with a shaved head and the tattoo. Ain't I
- 49:38Speaker 1: a hit man? Honestly, the Loomy Tunes version of this
- 49:43Speaker 1: movie would be fucking sick. Run it up the check,
- 49:48Speaker 1: let's do it all, he would. Let's know, if you're
- 49:50Speaker 1: doing a remake, you have two ways to go. You
- 49:53Speaker 1: either go lou Tunes or you go Muppets, anything else.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Why are you wasting money on this?
- 49:59Speaker 2: What the fuck muppets? There's a muppet of a hip
- 50:03Speaker 2: man and he's like, he doesn't say anything, by the way, just.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Come on, you cannot see Kermit up there on the
- 50:08Speaker 1: ledge just pulling a sniper rifle. That's fucking insane of you, Kermit.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Why bull that guy's side. The rest of the books
- 50:21Speaker 1: have been right through penetration.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that was more dialogue often had the entire Yeah,
- 50:29Speaker 2: movie speaking is definitely that's pretty good.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Oh my god, I see he's such hard role. My god,
- 50:38Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's a fever dream of watse he happened.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Jim Hanson. If you're your estate is listening, get a
- 50:46Speaker 1: hold of me. We'll do this. Sure state listening. In fact,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I hope they're not. God, I want them to help
- 50:53Speaker 1: you for this. No, this is a crazy episode. Yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 1: And then we end with stalking a woman who I'm
- 51:00Speaker 1: sure they gave a name to in the movie. At
- 51:01Speaker 1: some point, I know we see the actresses name. Did
- 51:03Speaker 1: we say to say her name? Do we? Does you
- 51:04Speaker 1: have a name?
- 51:05Speaker 2: Olga car Inco? Yeah, I don't know what her character
- 51:11Speaker 2: at some point, Yeah, I've been as task Master might
- 51:14Speaker 2: in her head.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Apparently the end we find like there's still a
- 51:17Speaker 1: hit out for by who who's hiring an assassin that
- 51:20Speaker 1: killed his random woman. Now, after all this was it
- 51:24Speaker 1: the guy in the tub? Is he alive? Did like,
- 51:26Speaker 1: did he survive all this and he's still doing shit?
- 51:29Speaker 1: I don't fucking know.
- 51:30Speaker 2: It runs two trumps though, where the guy stalks the
- 51:33Speaker 2: girl so that he could she could live her life,
- 51:36Speaker 2: and then the other trope that they do is that
- 51:39Speaker 2: the beginning of the movie is actually the end of
- 51:41Speaker 2: the movie, and so it's full circle back.
- 51:44Speaker 1: It's all so bad, Drew, It's yeah, it's really just
- 51:49Speaker 1: a bunch of really poorly done action scenes tied together
- 51:52Speaker 1: by really bad tropes, and like Edgy asked fourteen year
- 51:58Speaker 1: old Tumbler writing who who directed this movie? I do
- 52:04Speaker 1: not know. I honestly feel like not saying it to
- 52:07Speaker 1: protect them from our from anyone knowing who they were
- 52:11Speaker 1: and any relationship they had to this movie, because I'm
- 52:13Speaker 1: sure they did not enjoy it. And I will actually say,
- 52:17Speaker 1: given some of the behind the scene facts, like did
- 52:19Speaker 1: read like a lot of the movie was changed from
- 52:22Speaker 1: the original direction because they didn't like the direction he
- 52:26Speaker 1: was going in. So I think there was a level
- 52:28Speaker 1: of like he tried to do something and they were like, no,
- 52:32Speaker 1: let's reel it back because that's too ridiculous, or too
- 52:36Speaker 1: over the top, and then like the fucking intro to
- 52:39Speaker 1: alven Maria was like clips from another TV show the
- 52:41Speaker 1: studio owned or something.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Oh, really, did you know that this movie came on
- 52:46Speaker 2: in two thousand and seven? Because I didn't pay attention
- 52:48Speaker 2: to that shit at all? Yeah on two thousand and seven. Yeah, yeah, zero,
- 52:52Speaker 2: excuse me?
- 52:53Speaker 1: This bad? I did not know. Yeah. It's like it's
- 52:55Speaker 1: one thing you can talk about the games in two thousand,
- 52:57Speaker 1: Like if the movie was like two thousand and one,
- 52:59Speaker 1: may you can find a world where this kind of words,
- 53:01Speaker 1: but an seven. Like that's think about the movies that
- 53:05Speaker 1: came out before this, dude.
- 53:08Speaker 2: The Bourne Ultimate Mateum came out in two thousand and seven.
- 53:11Speaker 2: The third Jason Bourne movie came out in two thousand.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Are you fucking for real?
- 53:15Speaker 1: I'm losing it right now. I did not.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I thought this was like two thousand and one, two
- 53:19Speaker 2: thousand and two for some reason.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Are you serious? Yeah?
- 53:23Speaker 2: This? Oh?
- 53:24Speaker 1: Here it is? So. The director is Exavier Gens. I'll
- 53:27Speaker 1: out him. Sorry, I'm doctor was removed from his directing
- 53:32Speaker 1: editing position after Fox decided to go back and reshoot
- 53:34Speaker 1: and re editit. The movie in October, Fox denied, claiming
- 53:38Speaker 1: he was still directing editing. However, it was later confirmed
- 53:40Speaker 1: as true by Timothy h Okay. So the opening to
- 53:46Speaker 1: this movie, the Auvin Maria like all those clips of children,
- 53:49Speaker 1: was from the Fox TV show Dark Angel. I've heard
- 53:53Speaker 1: of it, but I know of it.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I will give this guy less hate because anytime a
- 53:59Speaker 2: movie stepped studio steps in for reshoots and stuff, any
- 54:03Speaker 2: movie by committee is always worse. Which is how these
- 54:07Speaker 2: studios never fucking learned that like reshoots and remaking a
- 54:11Speaker 2: thing in the middle of something usually ends because it
- 54:14Speaker 2: at least if it's gonna be bad, at least it'll
- 54:16Speaker 2: be bad and of a vision, you know what I mean,
- 54:18Speaker 2: As we've seen a lot in this in this series
- 54:21Speaker 2: and project that we've done. The Super Mario Brothers movie
- 54:24Speaker 2: was an absolute shit show.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Oh god. Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 2: It is kind of a fun watch though, and it
- 54:30Speaker 2: is really not nostalgic, but it's very charming. That's the
- 54:34Speaker 2: word I used to use a lot.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Charming. Charming is a good word for I think as
- 54:38Speaker 1: someone who grew up having seen it at a young
- 54:40Speaker 1: en of age, there is a nostalgia factor for me
- 54:42Speaker 1: for sure, right, I think like I understand like my
- 54:46Speaker 1: appreciation and like kind of weird love for that movie
- 54:49Speaker 1: more than most people. And I'm like, there's no world
- 54:52Speaker 1: which I go show this to somebody and have them
- 54:53Speaker 1: go like, oh, I see why you like it, and
- 54:55Speaker 1: they're gonna go, you're fucking weird. Yeah, but you know,
- 54:58Speaker 1: give me some shrooms or like a movie theater full
- 55:01Speaker 1: of rowdy patrons and maybe this has be a fun watch.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yeah, this movie is, by comparison, charm less, compelling, fucking
- 55:08Speaker 2: charm less. There's nothing that's really exciting or.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Redeemable. I am legend came out the same year, dude,
- 55:18Speaker 1: what the fuck movie you? I mean when we're when
- 55:22Speaker 1: were the three Matrix movies? I know the first one
- 55:24Speaker 1: was two thousand and one. No, the first one's like
- 55:27Speaker 1: nineteen ninety nine, dude, it's nineteen ninety nine nine nine. Yeah. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 1: two thousand and three was reloaded.
- 55:34Speaker 2: So like and no, two thousand and three was both
- 55:38Speaker 2: it was two and three reloaded and uh resurrection whatever.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Yeah, something of the sort. Yeah, because that was the
- 55:48Speaker 1: year of the Matrix.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Yeahs or the Silver Surfer came out in the same year.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Much better. No, that movie's so much better than this. Honestly,
- 56:00Speaker 1: you know what, You're not wrong, but it's not something
- 56:02Speaker 1: to be proud of. It's not like it's like being
- 56:04Speaker 1: like you know, it's like, given the choice, this apple
- 56:08Speaker 1: that fell on the ground, it's better alternative to that
- 56:10Speaker 1: pile of dog shit on fire. No, I've made saying
- 56:14Speaker 1: the Silver Service way better than this. Dude. B movie
- 56:16Speaker 1: came out in the same year as this. Oh God,
- 56:22Speaker 1: how do you rate this film as an adaptation of
- 56:24Speaker 1: a video game? As someone who's at least played one
- 56:27Speaker 1: of the games? Oh?
- 56:28Speaker 2: Yeah, as an adaptation, it is not bad. Honestly, it's
- 56:32Speaker 2: not bad. I didn't think of anything cute for this.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Hold on, let me let me quickly, Matt. You can
- 56:37Speaker 2: keep this in or keep this out funny either way,
- 56:40Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Oh, hold on.
- 56:42Speaker 2: As a as an adaptation, I'm gonna rank this Hitman contract.
- 56:47Speaker 2: That doesn't make any sense.
- 56:47Speaker 1: That's not give give this a zero out of forty seven.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I don't know. Oh, I'll give it a that's not
- 56:54Speaker 1: one of mine. I just think it's the first thing.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I think we talk about numbers earlier. Yeah, depending on
- 57:00Speaker 1: how the ranking system works, maybe it's that bad. Yeah. No,
- 57:03Speaker 1: that's a I don't know, that's a great idea. You
- 57:06Speaker 1: should take that if you don't worry no, because mine is.
- 57:09Speaker 1: I genuinely feel like if this were a video game
- 57:11Speaker 1: and the story we're just told in little cut scenes
- 57:13Speaker 1: and these actual like segments were turned into missions, I
- 57:17Speaker 1: could see this being a decent hit Man game. Like
- 57:20Speaker 1: some of those missions, like like you know, like that
- 57:23Speaker 1: some of like you know, killing off that guy taking
- 57:25Speaker 1: his place, going to the drug den, getting in and
- 57:28Speaker 1: then like killing everybody and like all these trying out
- 57:31Speaker 1: these cool weapons or like that final shootout in the
- 57:33Speaker 1: like the church, Like it's all very like gamey in
- 57:37Speaker 1: the way that like it needs to be. Yeah, but
- 57:42Speaker 1: it's like they understood that and then realize that makes
- 57:46Speaker 1: for a terrible movie having a character who's so boring
- 57:49Speaker 1: and blank, almost like they're just a number and not
- 57:52Speaker 1: a real human being with feelings. Hint, hint, nudge, nues
- 57:55Speaker 1: to the character you're writing. I give this two Fisher
- 57:59Speaker 1: price ized swords out of six eight was four of them? Eight?
- 58:03Speaker 2: Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I'll give it a
- 58:05Speaker 2: I'll give it a hit Man forty six out of
- 58:07Speaker 2: forty seven for hours we said, you know, that's like
- 58:10Speaker 2: one better than him, or like one worse than him.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I'll give it a solid snake out of Agent forty seven,
- 58:18Speaker 2: none a franchise I could never get into because some
- 58:20Speaker 2: terrible stealth gams.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Same. Same as far as the movie itself. I
- 58:24Speaker 1: don't think this comes as a surprise. We both thought
- 58:26Speaker 1: it was absolute shit. Ye, I think. I think. I
- 58:30Speaker 1: think I would have preferred if they did not try
- 58:32Speaker 1: and jam a movie plot into this game and had
- 58:35Speaker 1: just been Agent forty seven killing people and maybe like
- 58:38Speaker 1: clues to a larger plot based on his targets and
- 58:41Speaker 1: missions h and we could like piece together ourselves as
- 58:44Speaker 1: an audience. Like that kind of would have been like
- 58:45Speaker 1: a cool concept for a film. Yeah, letting him say
- 58:48Speaker 1: stoic and blank and just like you know, I'll give
- 58:52Speaker 1: this one syringe full of whatever drug he used on
- 58:54Speaker 1: insert female character's name here, straight to my next one
- 58:57Speaker 1: watching it again.
- 58:58Speaker 2: Oh no, I want to give this movie Fantastic four
- 59:02Speaker 2: Rise of the Silver Circle.
- 59:03Speaker 1: I don't know, because it's better. That movie is better
- 59:07Speaker 1: than this, because.
- 59:10Speaker 2: That is that is legitimately like the mean score. I
- 59:13Speaker 2: think you could give something. I love that movie so
- 59:16Speaker 2: much more than I take that and not wrong.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I think given the choice, I will take Fantastic Rise
- 59:22Speaker 1: of the Silver's over over this any day. And I
- 59:25Speaker 1: thought it was a good movie. Isn't the Powers like
- 59:31Speaker 1: swap for some reason or some shit? Yeah, George gets
- 59:34Speaker 1: all their powers for like a minute, You're saying it
- 59:37Speaker 1: like that's a bad movie. I'm think like that movie
- 59:42Speaker 1: is good and better than this one. I'm just saying.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I know, I know no more big projects, but like
- 59:48Speaker 1: a history of Marvel movies pre MCU, I will threaten that.
- 59:53Speaker 2: You want my you want mytism to be all out
- 59:55Speaker 2: on the internet. Oh god, yeah, that's that's called Saturday
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: for me.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Bud.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Welcome back, everybody. I hope you enjoyed listening to us
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: totally enjoy the hit Man film. That was a perfectly
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: good movie that we both had nothing negative to say about, Right, Jason,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I forgot that chapter in my life, and I bet
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: the better for it. Honestly, I think all of us
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: are better off for not knowing that movie, which means
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'd have to ask the unfortunate question to our guests
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Ben and Aaron, have you ever seen the hit Man movie?
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: I mean, I am personally a fan of hot Man,
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: I mean hit Man, and but I have never seen
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: the movie, so I legitimately have no idea what you've
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: gotten into. However, I believe if it's the one directed
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: by whoa Bowl, Yeah, that that's all I need to say.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: This is not well. Luckily we have that Landmine is
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: next month early teaser from.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: There's There's two hip Man movies, because I was to say, yeah,
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: I saw it a long time and I don't remember
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: much about it other than it not It wasn't There's
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: a hit Man and there's Agent forty, but this was
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: the new one. I couldn't tell you which one of
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: those I've seen, to be honest, it was.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: It was not a it's got to be the oldes.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Not a memorable movie.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: No bad, don't watch no.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: If he agreed that it was born Ultimatum light, you know,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: like James Bond Light, it was incredibly forgot it.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like we couldn't afford Jason Statham. Uh
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: here is here is Walmart Jason Stathum.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I mean, come on, he was born to play that role.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: This was Matrix fan fic, but written by a edge
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: lord basement dweller who somehow got it to film. But
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: if either of you played the hit Man game a
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: franchise that's actually good.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: Yes, yes I have. Yeah, it's not one of my favorites,
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: but like, and I'm not good at it. I would
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: not make a great assassin. Lots of collateral damage every
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: time I play. I was playing last night, I saw
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: that Hitman World of Assassination was on sale for like
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: two bucks. Nice, I think you only you only get
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: the first hit Man game and some some extras and
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: stuff with that. But but it's all remastered and stuff.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: And I played the first full mission and ended with
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: a score of zero only because they could not score
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: me negative one hundred and fifteen thousand points.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Did you you killed the target? Oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I completed and apparently everything else style is.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Killed a lot of innocent bystandards, your target, that's fine,
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: you know a lot of them. Weren't you burst into
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: a room, you shoot like eight guys your targets?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: They're like, what the fuck? Oh shit, no, you're the
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: one I want to kill. Shoot huh? Mission A combos
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: turned to leave. See one guy? Yeah why not? You
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: were there? No witnesses, no witnesses? What's going on Aaron.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Have you played any of the Hitman games?
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: Then yeah, no, I I played like the tutorial I
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: think of hit Man Blood Money, but it still wasn't
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: like the game it would eventually turn out to be.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: I I grabbed hit Man three when it like the newest,
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: the newest of the hit Man games aside from a
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: world of assassination, and that came with the previous two games,
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: Hitman one and two, So I.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Basically got like a collection, and I love the hell
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: out of that.
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: That little series of games, Like I didn't play anything
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: prior to that, but like just some of the silly
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: ways you could kill people was just so damn enjoyable.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: I wound up actually making it like a Patreon extra
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: for our podcast, literally called it literally called it Aaron
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: Kills People, and I would just try and find I
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: would try and find the most ridiculous ways to kill
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: the targets in that game, and I would just put
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: post videos of the kills on our Patreon for our
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: Patreon subscribers. So it was it was legitimately so much fun,
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: and I still I still enjoy going back to it
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: to try and find new stuff that I haven't already found.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Aaron gets a bonus point for getting money for killing
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: people in digital and in life, so.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: That will be the tie breaking point. If for any
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: reason there was a tie at the end of this game,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: that's how Aaron wins it. Even if someone else is tied.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Aaron wins for that. If Jason and I tie because
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: spoiler yeah today's game, that'll be a thing. I was
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: gonna say that I remember. I think my favorite memory
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: of the Hitman franchise is like I tried some of
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: the earlier ones that never really got into them. Like
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I was saying, it was Brewster, He's Achievement Hunters. They
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: would play through the more recent like the online one
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: there with like the missions, and they would just like
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: set themselves up the most bizarre goals of like trying
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: to finish something. And I remember an episode where they
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: figured out, like you could take down a power line
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: into like a puddle, like when it's raining, so anyone
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: who walks over to that area gets electrocuted and dies.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: And they just tried to lure every person on the
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: map to this pile of bodies bodies and run over
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: to check on them, get electra dien die, So there
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: is luring people over to and seeing how long they
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: can go before they killed the entire map. And it
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: was like the ben Mephis of assassination. The methid nature
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: did it for me. It wasn't my fault. They came
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: into the electric waters.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Who knew that the assassination game hit Man would become
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: an OSHA violation simulator?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I love that well. That leads us somewhat into our
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: game today. I have decided that we are looking at
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Hitman and what do Hitman do? They kill people? So
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I have here as our players can see the wheel
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: of who is dead? And on the wheel of who
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: is Dead are a bunch of I'm gonna say more
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: or less famous video game characters. They are all characters
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: that if you google them, they should be the default image.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I included the game title for some to make it
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: extra easy for some, some more obvious than others. But
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: we'll get to that as we do. In turn that
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: we will be spun. The player who is the detective
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: for the round will have us as the witnesses, giving
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: a one word clue to try to figure out who
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the victim is. Of course, the problem with this is
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: we can't confer beforehand, so if we all decide to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: give the same clue, that's just less clues for the detectives,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: less chance they'll get it right, and that at the
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: end of the round, the detective will get to pick
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: their favorite clue, win or lose to distribute a point.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: So you are encouraged to come up with fun clues
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: that will give everyone a laugh and make everyone happy,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: but still hopefully kind of lead them in the right direction.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Ish.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: Are we allowed to google them if we don't know
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: who they are?
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yes? I encourage this both for our listeners and for
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: our players. If you get a character and you're not
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: a hundred percent sure who they are, or you're like,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I don't know this one, or I don't know anything
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: about them give a clue, feel free to Google search
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: them just so you have an idea of what they are,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: who they are, the game they're from. My only limits
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: are your clue cannot include the name of the character, obviously,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: and not the name of the game or franchise they
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: are from. You can allude to it but one word clues,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: So get creative. I will ask Ben I decided you
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: were going first because's the way I wrote it on
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: my list, all right, so you will close your eyes.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I will spin the wheel, and once your characters remove
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: from the screen, I will ask you to open them again. Okay,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: and then we will see what clues you get. Please
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: write down your clues so we can confirm no one
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: is cheating and changing their clue last second. We will
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: see how this first round goes, and if Drew wrote
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: a game that is worth playing or terrible. So Ben
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: confirming you are not looking.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: I'm not looking.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Aaron, Jason, and myself. We have to write up clues. Four.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I raise them on the wrong tab, so I'm actually
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: clicking the window. Nothing's happening there we go. Wheel as spinning,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Oh with a sound effect. I'm not it's going to
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: pick up in the game. We'll see that is our character.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I am removing them from the wheel and from the screen.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Shouldn't be visible anymore clues on the screen. Yeah, no,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: everyone loved it. I don't know if the sounds are
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: want to come through. I hope they do. All right,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: everyone down your clue and uh, what do I even play?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I gotta play this game now? Fuck? I do like
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: this game also, And how I talk to the cops
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: trying to give them I'm not. Yeah, but like, legally
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you figure it out right, stupid, Like I'm giving you
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the information. Legally, I'm doing what I have to do
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: as a citizen, but I ain't helping you fucking pig.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Once everyone's got their clues, let me know. I got mine. Yep, yep,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I assumes go on the clues there. Yeah, you can
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: open up. You're good. I make I made with nothing
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: on screen. I guess the where you can scan the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: wheel look for the missing name. But I don't think
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: that's gonna be an issue.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: I have spent the last ten minutes memorizing all fifty
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: of these post and you know every character on the wheel.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: So there's no chance we're gonna screw you over here.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: Uh so again, just because I got the order of
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: my my screen there, Aaron, do you want to give
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: your clue?
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: First? Of course, it is Facebook. Oh wow, okay, okay,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I'm guessing that's not Jason or eyes clue Jason, I
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: put smash Oh and my clue is mask three clues.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Can you figure out which character is dead?
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: I think I know, but I don't not sure. I
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: know their name.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: If you can get close enough describing who they are
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: I think we'll let it pass.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: The weak list of names if we have enough first
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: Diagram or the big dumb hand from Super Smash Brothers.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: It is a master hand.
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: Unfortunately, I really want to know what led you there, though,
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: well Facebook, because I got little thumbs up.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: And then uh damn.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: I don't know what the hell mask had to do
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: with anything, but I figured, you know, like.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: The leap in logic is the mask of the hand
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Facebook was intended to point to the character's name. Yeah,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: it was a really good clue, and you put it
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: together because the character you were looking for was meta
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Night from Kirby Oh and classically top tier Smash Rose character.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: And I mean we all put it together with the
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Facebook thing. Uh So no point for you, Ben, but
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: you do get to a ward of points for your
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: favorite clue.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: Oh well, I'm gonna go with uh Smash because at
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: least that that led me to the right franchise.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: That makes sense A good clue. I think that the
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: meta joke there Aaron intended was very well done. I
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: like that one. Yeah. I was just trying to.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: Pick something that would like point to it without being
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: so ridiculously obvious, but very clearly tied with Smash directions.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: There you go, so you got they and they did
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: the challenge. Now. I do like the creative thinking though,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: because it is like if you do put it together,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: like Meta is a very good clear shot there, Aaron,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: same thing goes for you. We're gonna ask you to
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: stop looking at the screen, divert your eyes be plighted,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: and we'll smin the wheel again. Also a very common
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: thing detectives do is look away for virt your eyes
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: from the Oh, okay, they will be removed from the wheel.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: My other players, you see what it is. I'm not
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: gonna I'm not being too quick here. Let's start getting
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: some clues down.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Aaron.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: You are allowed to look back at the screen. It's
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: gone for the screen now obviously you can't see what
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: we're doing till we do it. I'm gonna I've got
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: the clue. I've definitely Oh I got a good one too.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I'm worried. This is one of those like I could
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: see it going anyway. Ben, you're good too, I'm good. Yep,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: all right, we'll go to first order this time. My
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: first clue is ass next. Yeah, I got smash.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: There's only like two hundred characters and supers and all
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: these characters look like they're in Smash. I'm not gonna
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: lie to is.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I like, I found like a generic list and then
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I added to it. So I was like, there's some
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: obvious names missing from here. And I realized like everything
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I added was like from Smash. I was like, literally,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: who's in Smash that doesn't on this list yet? Oh,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: here's like seven and Ben your clue Bongos. Oh this
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: is a great clue list. Yeah, this is okay.
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: I was headed one direction, but now with Bongos, I
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: think I'm gonna go with Donkey Kong.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it. You found the victim where I'm curious
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: with just ass and Smash, who did you have First?
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: I was legitimately thinking of Solid Snake because I remember
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: there was a big there was a big haha when
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: they when they.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Were revealed his character. How much is butt is detailed
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: in that game? Like he was thick? So that's where
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: I was thinking, And then Bongos came into it, and
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: I'm like, no, it's a guy with thick.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: Cheeks and who do you want to award your bonus
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: point two for favorite claes because it got me there bongos, Ben, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: that makes sense.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I like that one, good, good, clean, honestly, really funny. Really,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I almost put bongoes too. You were almost like bongos
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: and smash. Might have done smash.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: I probably would have gotten it was between bongos and necktie.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I was also thinking tie. Oh, I like that. Okay,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: So that leaves us to Jason's turn. So Jason virtur
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: eyes from the crime scene. It's too gory for your
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: poor innocent childhood face, your baby face. We're gonna spin
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: the wheel. I'm assuming, I'm assuming you're honestly not looking,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: and I'm gonna spin it. I'm looking at my own wheel. Yeah,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: it's completely gone out of there. Yeah, take that name
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: off the list. Make sure it's not visible anywhere. You
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: can look back at your screen, and we're gonna start
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: writing some clues.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: Okay, all right, I got my clue and it probably
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: will not help you, Jason.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: All right, I'm gonna try this, but I'm nervous about it.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, my brain is not doing the funnies right now,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: so I'm trying to justthing logical. You ran to space
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: my screen. All right, let's go through U. Ben, what
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: did you get for your clue for this one?
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: I got sick Aphan's wrong with you?
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Oh god, okay, definitely someone's brain is firing much better
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: than mine is today. Aaron, where are you went on
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: this one? I wrote pilot Okay, that was honestly I
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: almost went with that one too. Also, I went for sidekick.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: No.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: At first, I thought you would maybe also wrote sick aphant,
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: and I was gonna be.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: No. I was just like, if we managed to get
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: two Sicka fans on the same clue, I'd be pretty funny.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I'm not googling a character, but I'm googling sick a fan.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, if you want to look at a definition
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: of a word, I will allow it. And if they
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: were the first Google image results and all the power too.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: You all give you that one too.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: You should a point for spelling it correctly the first
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: time I didn't. I'm also going to complain about definitions
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: and dictionaries, because a person who acts obsequesciously towards someone.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Fund yourself.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: But yeah, all right, so oh wait, pilot, sidekick, I'm
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: disregarding sick of fan?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Is it tails? It is tales? Jason? Whoa? Yeah? What tales?
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: That one. Who was that helped you? Which was your favorite? Yeah,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Pilot helped me a lot. Pilot was a good one both. Honestly,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I very.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: Nearly went with Prower. But I'm like, how many people
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: know tails real name?
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Oh? I Knowles Prower. I was thinking, like, how do
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I work the pun in a way, but like just
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: not with the whole name, Like what is how do
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: I do? I just pun and hope you favor it out?
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: Like? Yeah, honestly, if someone had put down ops obsequests
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: of I can't even say, to god, damn words.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: What I assume the joke you were going for is
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: if they'd put the word of sequence, you would have
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: gotten right away as the joke you got to make. Yes,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: thank you for finishing my joke. That's how jokes are made.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: I think it's almost better. I think it's almost better. Okay,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: so it is my turn, Jason. I guess you can
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: try the I don't know if you can screen share.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: If I stop, you're going to send them over Discord
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: real quick. Whatever lands on. I also realized your wheel
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I don't think is affected by my updates, So you
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: may land on a character we've already done in which case,
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: just spin again. Good lord, Okay, you know what, I'm
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: just gonna discord it, and you're not gonna look at
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: the discord. Yeah, I'm changing channels into I'm gonna just
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: close discords like tay and yeah, shut your eyeballs, shut
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: your eyeballs, shut the eyeballs. Yeah, no more peep in.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: All right, you guys got that?
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm assuming it's the ication on my screen.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I'm good to look. Okay.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: I've also chosen to do only one syllable. That's not
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: part of the game at all, but I've done one syllable.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: So you can. I don't know if that changes anything
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: for either of us, but feel free. We'll find out
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: after these a message. Uh yeah, no, I guess once
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: you guys are ready, go ahead, I'm ready. I got
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: my clue. I don't. I'm my concern is this going
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: to be doubled? But I got it? Yes, I let
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: me reveal mine, go for it suck so so so
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: right now my mind is leaning towards Agent forty seven
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: from hit Man. Okay, we're good. Aaron or Ben whoever
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: wants to jump in first, what do you got? I mean,
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: in order it should be better.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: Okay, then what do you got a terrible clue that
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: is also not going to help you? It seems to
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: be where my brain is going today is Gams.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I think I know who and that might be the
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: best clue ever, what onon? What is yours? If this
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: throws me off anyway? Inhale? Okay, so right away I
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: know who it is and I am giving Ben to
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: the point for the inside joke. This is Kirby inside joke.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: And what episode were we on where we had Kirby
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: with legs three D print on Etsy? Yeah, the Kirby
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: with the long sexy legs. I don't remember what that.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Was.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: It was it the like? Was it like then e
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: s or the the the Classic? Any episode I think
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: it was was the list of things on Etsy? It
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: was Kirby with long sexy manly legs. Oh god, that
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: oh what a what a callback to an episode of Pandemonium.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: But like brilliant look Chef's kiss. That is how you
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: do a stupid clue that works. I love it. Oh
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: my god. Okay, we are back at the top of
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: the order. That puts us back at you, Ben, hurt
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: your eyes. Let's spin the wheel and see who you
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: get now and almost like a Kirby Holler movement, will
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: roll it again. Uh, and we are spinning and the
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: wheel has determined the person being assassinated for this round
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: is okay. God, I wish I could do a two
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: word answer for this one, a really funny one, but
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I can't. Cluh. I wonder what it could be.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: And I'll be honest with you, listeners might know where
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: this is going. But it's the best clue. Like it'd
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: be my best clue if I was trying to guess
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: this person.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Yes, but if it's the clue shaking his head, what
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: else are they known for? You know what I mean?
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: I yes, unfortunately valid. I think everyone knows where I'm
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: going with this. I don't.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you here. My post it note currently
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: says smash Smash, suck smash, So I guess this one
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: is going to be smash.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: I mean, your clue could have smashed the last one
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: to very honestly, we've oh yeah again, Like there are
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: so many characters in those lists that are not in Smash.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I promise you people doesn't non smash characters. I'm not
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: a one trick pony Drew. I knew suck was the
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: right choice. It really was, and it works so good.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: You know, it's really important.
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: No one to suck and no one to smash like
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: you gotta.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Leaves my My.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Cheat sheet for myself is Smash Mass Suck Smash. That
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: is the next game we're playing is a sucker Smash.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Use the same list bonus episode at the end of
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: the year for Christmas. I got my clue ready, I'm guessing, Jason.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: We got yours. We know what yours is. Yep, yep, yep, Jason,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: just confirm your clue for this round is smash. I
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: went with it's a hyphen in word. I'm letting it
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: slide minus Herma death Hma death m okay is not
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: going to be terribly helpful. I went with Sword, so
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: one of the nine characters they've added to Smash with
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: a sword. This is good and what are you feelings
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: that great?
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: I'm not sure where to go with death. I'm gonna
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: go with cloud strife m it is not clouds it reils.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: With these clues, it legitimately could have been any of
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: the sword people from Fire Emblements Smash, which is I
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: think a dozen at this point. It was specifically Marth.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: It would the first sword Boy never played Fire Emblem.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I know it's a game with perma death, so I
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: was like, maybe it'll put you in the right direction.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: But uh yeah, Sword and Smash again could have been
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: a lot of them. Yeah, our clues were good for
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: a fire Emlin character. It doesn't narrow any of them down.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I really wanted a too word ends because I wanted
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: to be like better Roy. Better Roy. You still get
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: to give a point end to your favorite clue.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: H God, mean, it's gotta go with Smash, right.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: Jason's gonna win this game off smashing everything. When I suck,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I smash. Okay, Aaron, we're back in the order to
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you have vertim peepers, and let's try to get a
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: non Smash Bros. Character on this damn list. Finally there
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: is our character. I will remove them from the wheel.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: I don't love where my mind goes with this. I
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: really am curious how where you're gonna go with this one?
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Like you have so many options. Yeah, I have a
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: fun I like, this is just a good clues, not
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: even like a funny clue. It's just good. So Jason's
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: got yours. D Drew, have your clue. Yes, I have
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: my clue. Thanks Drew Good, Drew Good, Let's keep going.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: And ye, my brain is not working. I'm gonna start
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: with this one. Mike clue is mother. Oh that's great.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: See Jay said, I'm excited to see yours. Please, what
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: do you have?
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I hope the FBI never like raids my house because
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: currently my post it note says smash, smash, suck smash child.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I was so close writing child, you have no idea.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I was like literally about to write it when I
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: thought of mine.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Yes, sir, we're smash. Definitely ran away from that. Absolutely
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: what Beth Ben.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: What do you and child? Oh? Yeah, that doesn't help
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: you at all, mother and child.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: I went with smash, we got anyways, we got.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Not gonna get it. But I'm so proud of us. Yeah,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: I'm legitimately upset once you, once we reveal who it is,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: You're gonna be even more upset. Yeah, this is very
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: much one of those like it's like the last one
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: where it's like it could have been any of the
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: fire emblems. This is such a specific choice. I'm loving.
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't even remember if this person was on
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: the wheel or not. But I'm gonna go with nests
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: from Earthbound.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: And You're fucking nailed it, buddy. Yeah, it was awesome.
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: I was like, Mother's leading to Earthbound and I'm like,
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: what is that kid's name?
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: And I'm like, Elliott Nolli. That's why. Really, that's why
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: I think gets Elliott like be on the wheel and
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: even know if he is. But he's also technically a
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: viable option, so there was a chance there. But yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: favorite Mother was what got me there. So definitely I'm
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: proud of that one. I was, you know what, I
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: was like, I feel like it's nerdy enough.
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: Knowledge of the Mother is the Japanese version of Earthbound,
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: the Japanese name for Earthbound, So that's that's what there
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: you go.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: I was like, I fee like someone might know that one.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: I figure like I wouldn't be talking to Jason didn't
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: know that one then maybe not. But Aaron, I'm like,
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: I feel like you have the deep knowledge for that one.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: It worked, It worked, Jason trying to avert your eyes.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Hopefully again we are on a consistent Smash character list.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I'm hoping we get a non Stash character finally, please God,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: someone not from Smash. I see a couple on that
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: list that aren't in smash, so fingers crossed they show
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: up they have been stricken from the list, and my
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: clue is one ready to go, as is mine. Yep,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: I had that one locked and loaded.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Got it only because I'm looking at my I was
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: looking at my wheel when it spanned. Quite evil of
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: you to put things like Mega Man and Proto Man
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: next to each other, and in this.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: Game again, I shuffled this list. I don't know why
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: they're next to each other. It's really weird that it
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: did that. I don't know if it just didn't shuffle properly.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: But if even the main list I wrote they were
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: in order, that was like a most popular no.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: But that's what I'm saying is it's like saying, oh,
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: let's put in Kirby and then Yellow Kirby and then
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: three really obscure clues to try to get the right one.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: That's why you gotta think sometimes they get to make
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: sure it to narrow it down. If your clue is
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: one that they're gonna like, it'll help them, which hopefully
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: this round will do. Ben, what do you got?
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: I got twink?
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: All that huge?
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Is?
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: That is good?
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: Now I went with Omni Slash okay, and then okay,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: my clue has already been said, so I am out
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: of this round. I cannot you only got clues. I
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: got this, bro, I got this. First off, you've put it.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: You should have put Smash because he is Smashed. I
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: figured someone would, but I knew Twink was too funny
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: to not put. So yeah, and I've been beating it
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: to it.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: I've been reinvigorated because of our final Fantasy episode, So
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: I got a be Cloud strife with.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: It is cloud strife. And then by default, because that
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: and I put the same thing down, we can't get
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: the point. Just bite Twink. Yeah, and I'll be honest.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Omni Slash got me there. Oh yeah, I figure I
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: figured it's someone. I was like, I don't think any
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: of them would put twin because, like, I know, it
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: was funny, but I don't think it'll be like relevant
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: on the top of the head and you think Cloud
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: except for us. But like, I'm glad to know we've
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: we've been We've had an impact on our fan base.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: These guys listen to the show. They know, yeah, they
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: know yeah, yeah. Should have been ready for that one.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: The final fantasy adventurel Grewn episode is my one of
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: my favorite podcasts.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I've wo it's so funny, Jason, listening back to it myself,
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: you killed me every time you had a work it
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: was so good, so damn all right, that brings us
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: back to end of the round. It's up to me
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: to see if I can get another one out of
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: this spin your wheel. I am not looking at Discord.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: I'm not looking at the screen in case any random
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: pop of notifications. I shouldn't be aware of got boys.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: I'm also like, yeah, like my hand up in the
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: air like a villain. All right, I've got my clue.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Oh oh no, oh no, what do I go with?
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Everyone have their clues ready for me? Yep, yeah, I've
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: got my clue.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Here, I'm gonna reveal that my clue is Wizard. Wizard
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: Aaron by that side, did you also have Wizard?
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: I also had Wizard? Oh no, I should have gone
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: means as long as Ben, Ben did you also have wizards?
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: Didn't have Wizard? But I should have gone with my
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: other clue because it would have been more helpful because
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: I put wand.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: The only Wizard that comes to mind, and it is
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: because I just said his name out loud. I'm gonna
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: go with vv No.
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: My other it is my other clue was gonna be Yeah.
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: I almost went with Koopa, but I was I was
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: concerned that somebody else was gonna go with Koopa. So
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: I'm like, what's another word for a magician that I
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: can use. Nobody's gonna go with wizard?
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Damn. Jason, You clever bastard. But I love I love
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: how this work sometimes, so no no point for me. Ben,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: You're the only only with the unique answer, so you
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: got a bonus point in this round that does work.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: At the end of the game, the final scores are
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: myself with two, Ben with three, but Aaron and Jason
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: tie with four. Do we want to do a tiebreaker
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: where I'm gonna spin the wheel. Only Ben and I
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: get to give a clue, and it's whever one of
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: you can guess it first off our two clue. So
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: there is no speed element to this. I got time
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: for that. Aaron and Jason, you look away. It is
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: just Ben and I. Ben. I might do a few
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: spins to get a more interesting character, but then we
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: each get one clue between the two of us, and
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: whoever can get it first, gets it first. I think
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: I think that'll I think that'll work. I like that one.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: I'm cool with that. We're gonna take that off the wheel.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: We each get one clue. We will reveal them right quickly.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna look at my screen now, you can look now, yeah,
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: and I will give you the same. We will do
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: the clues as soon as whatever second clue is said.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: You can then buzz in. All right, So Ben give
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: your clue Wizard fast first one to get in the
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: fact that we rolled him and I knew we were
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: book Wizard. I was like, this is too funny. It
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: has to be it. But that will give Aaron the
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: win for the game. Are our potentially final game for
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: the series, because I don't the next episode is and
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: have a game based on what kind of bullshit we're
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: planning already. Thank you both so much for joining us
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: on this game, for letting me experiment with this game,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: which I'm now going to hurt out license so I
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Matt can't steal it for Pandemonium, but I'll give me
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: a small fee. Hopefully he hears this and loves this again.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: Thank you real quick. You want to shout out where
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: people can find you. What are you up to? What's
