- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our last break of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the day on this Friday. It's been a good day.
- 0:05Speaker 1: It's been a good day. Thank you to everyone who
- 0:08Speaker 1: listens every day. We appreciate you so much. We love you. Steve,
- 0:12Speaker 1: take us out.
- 0:13Speaker 2: What was the last of would you rather that you
- 0:16Speaker 2: gave Sureley?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Well, one of the would you rather take a risk
- 0:20Speaker 1: and fail miserably or never never try anything?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Would you rather take a risk and fail miserably or
- 0:28Speaker 2: never try anything new?
- 0:30Speaker 1: And you said take a risk.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Of course, there's only one way to live, and that
- 0:36Speaker 2: is to take the risk because in the risk lies
- 0:40Speaker 2: your opportunity. If you don't take chances, oh, you're playing
- 0:45Speaker 2: it safe. You don't fall, you don't get hurt, you
- 0:49Speaker 2: don't get rejected, but you also don't move. You cannot
- 0:55Speaker 2: grow without risk. I've taken some of the I've had.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Listen to me. I've had far more failures than I
- 1:05Speaker 2: have had successes. I can assure you that I have
- 1:10Speaker 2: had way more failures than successes. But see, a lot
- 1:16Speaker 2: of people don't understand what I've learned, that it's all
- 1:19Speaker 2: a part of the process. So let me give you
- 1:22Speaker 2: a piece of information that can help you with the
- 1:26Speaker 2: ls you take in LIFs. Sometimes you hear people say, man,
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'm tired of taking al's. You know, al is a
- 1:33Speaker 2: slang term for losses. You know, Man, I don't want
- 1:36Speaker 2: I'm tired of taking these als. But when you take
- 1:41Speaker 2: an L, you have to look at it the right way.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I ain't never had no losses. I had a lot
- 1:47Speaker 2: of al's, but I ain't never had no losses because
- 1:51Speaker 2: all my ls wasn't losses. All my l's was lessons.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And see, you got to understand that that's what it is.
- 2:00Speaker 2: If you quit looking at your ales as losses and
- 2:04Speaker 2: understanding them ales as lessons, you start handling them better.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Remember how I used to say on the radio all
- 2:11Speaker 2: the time, behind every moment of adversity, two things happened.
- 2:15Speaker 2: There is a lesson and a blessing. That's behind every
- 2:18Speaker 2: bad thing that happens to you. The loss of your
- 2:21Speaker 2: mother is a lesson and a blessing in there. Now
- 2:26Speaker 2: the lesson is it. Once you can cope with the
- 2:30Speaker 2: loss of your mother, do you know how much stronger
- 2:33Speaker 2: that makes you as a person? Because I mean, really,
- 2:36Speaker 2: after that was what can they do to you? I'm
- 2:40Speaker 2: leaving you? Hey, man, my mama gone. You know what, man?
- 2:46Speaker 2: That that was a cold lesson. Man it taught me
- 2:50Speaker 2: so man, my mama gone. Do you know what the
- 2:53Speaker 2: blessing was? All of this stuff she taught me and
- 2:56Speaker 2: the strength I gained from her absence, because after I
- 3:01Speaker 2: lost my mother, it was nothing you could say to me.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It didn't matter to me what you said. I don't
- 3:07Speaker 2: want you no more. By okay, I'm leaving you. Oh okay?
- 3:14Speaker 2: What time? What time is that? Man? I done lost
- 3:17Speaker 2: my mama. Do you understand the strength I gained from that?
- 3:24Speaker 2: And do you understand the memory of all of the
- 3:29Speaker 2: lessons that she taught me? How they ring deal in
- 3:32Speaker 2: my head all the time. I was out the country, right,
- 3:37Speaker 2: and I was going to this meeting, and they sent
- 3:40Speaker 2: the secretaries down to greet me at the door. So
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'm walking with these ladies to get on the elevator.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And there what's called a protocol department, And they opened
- 3:50Speaker 2: up the elevator and they stood there and I said, no, ladies,
- 3:52Speaker 2: go ahead. They said, no, mister Harvey, we can't. We're
- 3:55Speaker 2: on protocol. You first can't. I can't do this. I
- 4:00Speaker 2: can't allow you to hold this door for me, I
- 4:04Speaker 2: can't go on this elevator and leave this woman in
- 4:07Speaker 2: the hallway with her hand holding that bumper back on
- 4:10Speaker 2: the door. My mama in heaven watching me. My mama
- 4:14Speaker 2: raised me to be chivalrous towards women, to hold doors
- 4:18Speaker 2: for women, to allow women to walk through first, to
- 4:21Speaker 2: pull out chairs, to open the mall door. I open
- 4:24Speaker 2: the mall door for a woman. I don't even got
- 4:26Speaker 2: to know who you are. You ain't even got to
- 4:28Speaker 2: be with me. But if I see you and I'm
- 4:30Speaker 2: by that door, I'm gonna open the door for you.
- 4:33Speaker 2: That's what I learned from my mama. So even in
- 4:37Speaker 2: the greatest loss of my life, that loss was a
- 4:41Speaker 2: lesson because I know I've said it before, but I'm
- 4:44Speaker 2: gonna say it again. After the loss of my mother,
- 4:47Speaker 2: there's nothing you could do to me what you finish
- 4:50Speaker 2: threaten me with. Man, I lost my mom, I buried
- 4:53Speaker 2: my mama. I don't care what you do every loss
- 4:57Speaker 2: in your life. If you quit looking at losses them als,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you taking them als is lessons. Every time I see
- 5:06Speaker 2: somebody trying to take something from me that don't belong
- 5:10Speaker 2: to them, I done seen this movie before. I've learned
- 5:14Speaker 2: this lesson before. I've lost some money before, So now
- 5:18Speaker 2: that loss ain't a loss, it's a lesson. Now I
- 5:20Speaker 2: know what it looked like. You can't take no money
- 5:22Speaker 2: from me, No mold. I learned the lesson. That al
- 5:27Speaker 2: that I took wasn't really a loss. It was a lesson.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So now, okay, cool, you took three hundred from me,
- 5:34Speaker 2: but I took an l but I learned a lesson.
- 5:37Speaker 2: So now here you come. How you think you finnah
- 5:38Speaker 2: get thirty thousand? But if you take three from me?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Are you finna take some mold? Now I've learned. All
- 5:48Speaker 2: my als was not losses. All my als was lessons.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Those are my closing remarks. Feel how you wanna feel.
- 6:00Speaker 2: But I have lost my mama. I don't care. Talk
- 6:07Speaker 2: to God today, y'all. He love to hear from this.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And I'm meaning that too. I really do mean that
- 6:12Speaker 2: what you're gonna say to me.
