- 0:05Speaker 1: Launch control this is houston we are going to launch.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Five four three two one.
- 0:17Speaker 3: It's chris x radio chris x radio What we need.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Right now is a clear message to the people of
- 0:24Speaker 4: this country.
- 0:25Speaker 5: This message must.
- 0:26Speaker 6: Be read in every newspaper, heard on every radio, seen
- 0:29Speaker 6: on every television.
- 0:30Speaker 2: This message must resound throughout the entire intelligence.
- 0:34Speaker 7: And now, your host.
- 0:35Speaker 8: I believe this is going to be our finest hour.
- 0:37Speaker 9: Chris X. Man, is it already the weekend? Is it
- 1:01Speaker 9: the weekend yet, Cash?
- 1:03Speaker 10: Yes, sir.
- 1:03Speaker 9: For you. For me. I get to start the weekend
- 1:08Speaker 9: ahead of everybody else. How did I get this deal?
- 1:12Speaker 9: How did I get this deal? I got a deal
- 1:14Speaker 9: where I get to start the weekend ahead of everybody else.
- 1:17Speaker 9: Had nothing to do with that radio program that airs
- 1:19Speaker 9: on Fridays from 4 to 6 that has been airing
- 1:22Speaker 9: on our station for like 25 years. Has nothing to
- 1:25Speaker 9: do with that. Has everything to do with just me
- 1:28Speaker 9: being special apparently. When I say I'm special, does that
- 1:32Speaker 9: mean I got my own little special short bus to
- 1:34Speaker 9: ride to school when I was a kid? Does that
- 1:37Speaker 9: sound accurate to you, Cash?
- 1:38Speaker 11: I mean, you get the mothership four days a week.
- 1:41Speaker 9: Good point. So then I get to ride the short
- 1:43Speaker 9: bus on Fridays. So there you go. Good afternoon. Welcome
- 1:47Speaker 9: to Chris X Radio. I am the aforementioned X-Man. here
- 1:51Speaker 9: as we have assumed control of the airwaves and we
- 1:54Speaker 9: intend to maintain control of these airwaves for the next
- 1:58Speaker 9: two hours as, of course, we come bearing that gift
- 2:00Speaker 9: beyond price that is almost free, ladies and gentlemen. We
- 2:03Speaker 9: bring you the Spirit of Talk Radio. When I say
- 2:08Speaker 9: there's a lot to cover, there always is. But there's
- 2:11Speaker 9: a lot to cover today. And it is our Friday
- 2:14Speaker 9: show on Thursday. As I mentioned, tomorrow I'm off. I
- 2:17Speaker 9: got the day off. Probably going to go up to
- 2:18Speaker 9: the hill country. Probably going to go, well, I've got to,
- 2:22Speaker 9: whether I do it this week or next week, I'm
- 2:24Speaker 9: not sure yet. But got to go fill the feeders,
- 2:27Speaker 9: get them ready. So funny, I love the fact that
- 2:30Speaker 9: I have a feeder that feeds the deer. But mine's
- 2:32Speaker 9: really more of a hog feeder. But I have the
- 2:36Speaker 9: feeder that, because I don't even hunt deer. Shh, don't
- 2:38Speaker 9: tell them. Don't tell anyone else that I'm not really
- 2:41Speaker 9: a deer hunter. I want them to believe that I
- 2:43Speaker 9: had deer, but I don't really, I haven't, I haven't
- 2:45Speaker 9: shot a deer since what? 1985, 86, maybe. So, uh,
- 2:53Speaker 9: but the hogs on the other hand, that's a little different.
- 2:57Speaker 9: Those little destructive mofos. Can I say mofos on the
- 3:02Speaker 9: air cash? Is that, is that legal? I know the answer.
- 3:07Speaker 9: It is legal. I can say mofos all day. Did
- 3:12Speaker 9: you guys see the story? I didn't even have this
- 3:13Speaker 9: lined up for the show today. Two juvenile teenage McDonald's
- 3:17Speaker 9: employees got into a fight, and then one of them
- 3:20Speaker 9: stabbed his co-worker to death. It was over at, like,
- 3:24Speaker 9: Grant Road in Luetta.
- 3:26Speaker 3: That's, um.
- 3:30Speaker 9: That's really right down the road from where I live.
- 3:33Speaker 9: I mean, that's not right down the road. It's fairly
- 3:35Speaker 9: close in Cypress area. So now we got.
- 3:42Speaker 9: We got McDonald's employees stabbing and killing each other. Thank you,
- 3:48Speaker 9: Democrat Party. You think these guys are good, strong conservatives? No. Anyway,
- 3:54Speaker 9: back to my point. It's our Friday show on Thursday
- 3:57Speaker 9: because that little program I was mentioning earlier, the Amigos,
- 4:01Speaker 9: airs every Friday from 4 to 6. That's right. They
- 4:03Speaker 9: take over tomorrow, which means, once again, two objects cannot
- 4:08Speaker 9: exist within the same space. location at the same time
- 4:11Speaker 9: so we had to move our friday show and we
- 4:15Speaker 9: moved our friday show to thursday because i'm not gonna
- 4:17Speaker 9: move it to saturday that would be crazy that would
- 4:21Speaker 9: be nuts so i move it to thursday so we
- 4:24Speaker 9: do our friday show today so el senador paul betancourt
- 4:28Speaker 9: uncle paul The judge and the Nestor with a view
- 4:31Speaker 9: takes over tomorrow from 4 to 6. So make an
- 4:34Speaker 9: appointment to tune in to the Amigos every Friday from
- 4:37Speaker 9: 4 to 6. You know what? I may reach out
- 4:39Speaker 9: to Ben for next week. May get him on, try
- 4:42Speaker 9: to see if he can do an hour with me
- 4:43Speaker 9: on Wednesday. It's been so long since we've done it.
- 4:46Speaker 9: I always enjoy that. I think it'd be a good
- 4:48Speaker 9: idea for him and I to get together and have
- 4:50Speaker 9: a powwow for about an hour before the election. Because
- 4:55Speaker 9: there's a lot going on. But anyway, so they take
- 4:59Speaker 9: over tomorrow from 4 to 6. We do our Friday
- 5:01Speaker 9: show today, which means we will talk about whatever is
- 5:04Speaker 9: on your mind. Whatever you guys want to talk about,
- 5:06Speaker 9: as long as you keep it clean, keep it within
- 5:09Speaker 9: the confines of the Federal Communications Commission, which means you
- 5:13Speaker 9: can't call people bad words. You can't say bad words.
- 5:19Speaker 9: Our pal Joe in Sugar Land the other day may
- 5:20Speaker 9: have caught himself before he said a bad word. We've
- 5:23Speaker 9: had a few people on occasion, they get... I know
- 5:25Speaker 9: we're kind of like a friend, you know, family here.
- 5:28Speaker 9: It's a little friendly friendship, family ship where it gets
- 5:32Speaker 9: very relaxed, but we do have to follow FCC guidelines.
- 5:36Speaker 9: So we can't just say certain words on the air.
- 5:39Speaker 9: As you guys know, it's a family friendly environment. I
- 5:42Speaker 9: like to keep it that way for the most part,
- 5:45Speaker 9: but you just can't call people. Certain words can't say
- 5:47Speaker 9: certain things. You can say things like BS. You can
- 5:51Speaker 9: say that. You can say things that are people that
- 5:53Speaker 9: use words that rhyme with which. Well, people, that happens
- 5:57Speaker 9: a lot. But once again, on Fridays, though, or Friday
- 6:01Speaker 9: show on Thursday, we will take your calls. Now, that
- 6:04Speaker 9: does exclude people who use fake names, calling from fake cities,
- 6:08Speaker 9: listing fake topics they want to talk about to go
- 6:11Speaker 9: spread propaganda, and then are just somehow apoplectic that I
- 6:17Speaker 9: called them out on it. It's not like they don't
- 6:20Speaker 9: have a history. I'm saying they because I don't want
- 6:23Speaker 9: to misgender them. I'm saying they don't have a history
- 6:26Speaker 9: of calling in to multiple shows on this station, on
- 6:29Speaker 9: multiple stations throughout the country, listening area, you name it,
- 6:35Speaker 9: using fake name, fake topic, fake location, and then to
- 6:39Speaker 9: just apoplectic that we won't just let them filibuster, say
- 6:42Speaker 9: what they want to say, and we have to believe
- 6:44Speaker 9: everything they say after that. Cash, did you know that
- 6:47Speaker 9: was the rules? Did you know that's the rules we
- 6:49Speaker 9: have to follow?
- 6:50Speaker 11: Which one, that we have to let them or that
- 6:52Speaker 11: they want to?
- 6:53Speaker 9: Well, that they want to. That's the rules they want
- 6:55Speaker 9: to enforce upon us.
- 6:55Speaker 11: Ah, no, I hadn't read that book yet.
- 6:58Speaker 9: Okay, I'll make sure I get you the handbook. Anyway,
- 7:03Speaker 9: so brace yourself. We may get a caller. You guys
- 7:06Speaker 9: have learned the routine.
- 7:07Speaker 12: Calls.
- 7:08Speaker 9: He can't control himself for two seconds. Goes into his
- 7:11Speaker 9: whatever anti-Trump tirade, whatever he has for the day. And
- 7:14Speaker 9: then I cut him off immediately and then proceed to
- 7:16Speaker 9: make fun of him for about five minutes. And then
- 7:18Speaker 9: he gets really angry that I make fun of him
- 7:21Speaker 9: because the dude called in my show literally probably six
- 7:25Speaker 9: months to a year ago. Twice in the same day,
- 7:28Speaker 9: I actually tried to engage him in the first time
- 7:30Speaker 9: and realized quickly this guy's just what they call a
- 7:32Speaker 9: seminar caller. And he was lying. And then he called
- 7:35Speaker 9: back in in the same show in the next hour
- 7:39Speaker 9: and forgot the name that he used on the air.
- 7:40Speaker 9: I asked him, I was like, what's your name again?
- 7:42Speaker 9: He couldn't remember. And I was like, oh, okay, you're
- 7:44Speaker 9: a fake caller. And that was the last time I
- 7:46Speaker 9: gave him any airtime. But since then, he called into
- 7:49Speaker 9: Chris Salcedo's show multiple times. I remember having a conversation
- 7:52Speaker 9: with Chris Salcedo. And Salcedo goes, oh, yeah, we're going
- 7:55Speaker 9: to take him to task. And he took his calls
- 7:57Speaker 9: and tried to debate with him for about a month
- 8:00Speaker 9: or two months and then eventually went to doing what
- 8:03Speaker 9: I do. And then the Amigos, he calls into the
- 8:06Speaker 9: Amigos damn near every Friday. So now Cash, you'll be
- 8:11Speaker 9: with the Amigos. You flying the mothership tomorrow?
- 8:14Speaker 11: That's the plan.
- 8:15Speaker 9: Okay. This is true. Plans are always subject to change.
- 8:19Speaker 9: But in case, so Cash will be ready for him
- 8:21Speaker 9: to call in tomorrow. But the Amigos got to where
- 8:24Speaker 9: they were doing basically the same thing. But every now
- 8:26Speaker 9: and then he gets through. There's a lot going on.
- 8:30Speaker 9: But I'm sorry. So we won't take those calls. But
- 8:33Speaker 9: anything else, if you've got something on your mind you
- 8:35Speaker 9: really want to talk about, 281-558-KSEV, 281-558-5738. We always like
- 8:44Speaker 9: to do things properly. I forgot to play the Friday
- 8:46Speaker 9: song once and blew up the station, so I'm not
- 8:48Speaker 9: going to let that happen again.
- 8:49Speaker 10: Oh, no.
- 8:57Speaker 9: Cash, you looking for a word for the weekend?
- 9:00Speaker 14: Always.
- 9:02Speaker 9: Is that we're getting, getting? Partying, partying, yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 9: All right, I'll let you enjoy the big block. I'm
- 9:14Speaker 9: going to move over to the Leo Borchino. Here we go.
- 9:18Speaker 9: This is better. It's already puts me.
- 9:32Speaker 3: In a good mood.
- 9:44Speaker 9: I still don't understand how I can sing like that now.
- 9:48Speaker 9: When I was an actual singer for a rock and
- 9:50Speaker 9: roll band in the late 90s, early 2000s, I couldn't
- 9:56Speaker 9: sing like that at all. I couldn't even come close.
- 10:00Speaker 9: and for some reason I could do that now I
- 10:03Speaker 9: think that just means my singing days in a rock
- 10:05Speaker 9: and roll band are over all right I do like
- 10:12Speaker 9: Leo Morciolo Frog Leap Studios on YouTube Cash, do you think,
- 10:16Speaker 9: does this song get us banned in Belarus or in
- 10:19Speaker 9: certain Russian provinces?
- 10:21Speaker 11: Oh, yeah, no, they hate it.
- 10:23Speaker 9: Okay, they hate it. I don't know why. I don't
- 10:26Speaker 9: know what poor Leo did to them. How dare he
- 10:29Speaker 9: try to make those capitalist dollars? You can always go
- 10:33Speaker 9: to his Frog Leap Studios page on YouTube and support him,
- 10:36Speaker 9: or he's got Patreon and other things, so he can
- 10:39Speaker 9: do all that. Okay, so what I'm going to do
- 10:41Speaker 9: is we'll go to the phones here at 281-558-KSEB here shortly.
- 10:45Speaker 9: But what I need to do is lay out what
- 10:47Speaker 9: we're going to cover today. First and foremost, President Trump
- 10:50Speaker 9: has revealed that Major League Baseball legend Roger Clemens, Houston's
- 10:54Speaker 9: very own, will receive the Medal of Freedom. He announced
- 10:58Speaker 9: it last night at the San Antonio rally for Ken Paxton.
- 11:04Speaker 9: And Clemens was, he was shocked. He was like, what?
- 11:08Speaker 9: He's like, I didn't, okay.
- 11:11Speaker 15: Okay.
- 11:12Speaker 9: So he's going to get the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
- 11:14Speaker 9: This follows in lines with other Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients,
- 11:19Speaker 9: including Babe Ruth, Vin Scully, Yogi Berra, Ernie Banks, Stan Musial,
- 11:25Speaker 9: Frank Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson,
- 11:31Speaker 9: Mariano Rivera, and Joe DiMaggio. So it falls in good lines.
- 11:36Speaker 9: Trump mentioned last night, he said, Rocket, you know, Roger,
- 11:41Speaker 9: maybe the best pitcher of all time, or the greatest pitcher. That, no, no,
- 11:46Speaker 9: not even close. He is a great pitcher, one of
- 11:49Speaker 9: the greatest of all time. He won the Cy Young, like,
- 11:53Speaker 9: what is it, seven times, which is amazing. But the
- 11:57Speaker 9: greatest pitcher of all time, another guy from the Houston area,
- 12:00Speaker 9: from Alvin, to be honest. Nolan Ryan never won a
- 12:05Speaker 9: Cy Young award. Can you believe that, Cash? Nolan Ryan
- 12:08Speaker 9: never won a Cy Young award?
- 12:10Speaker 12: No, I cannot.
- 12:14Speaker 9: He never won a Cy Young. They call him, there
- 12:16Speaker 9: was one dirtbag. The difference is Nolan Ryan is in
- 12:21Speaker 9: the Baseball Hall of Fame. Roger Clemens is not because
- 12:24Speaker 9: of the steroid controversy, even though he never tested positive
- 12:27Speaker 9: for the drug. But Nolan Ryan was voted in. Everybody
- 12:30Speaker 9: voted him in except one dirtbag writer who was like,
- 12:33Speaker 9: he's only a 500 pitcher. While the record is roughly true,
- 12:39Speaker 9: He played on 500 baseball teams, and he can't score
- 12:42Speaker 9: runs other than when he got to bat in the
- 12:44Speaker 9: National League and hit home runs. But literally, when it
- 12:48Speaker 9: comes to strikeouts, he has twice as many as the
- 12:52Speaker 9: next closest pitcher, who is Randy Johnson, who was just terrifying.
- 12:58Speaker 9: So there's that. No one comes close. The record will
- 13:00Speaker 9: never be broken. He's got the most no-hitters. No one
- 13:03Speaker 9: will ever come close to that. The most one-hitters, the
- 13:05Speaker 9: most two-hitters, the most incredible baseball statistics of all time.
- 13:10Speaker 9: It's not even remotely close when it comes to what
- 13:14Speaker 9: a pitcher can do for a ball club, but some
- 13:17Speaker 9: greasy leftist dirtbag on the Baseball Hall of Fame decided
- 13:22Speaker 9: to vote against Nolan Ryan. He is hands down the
- 13:24Speaker 9: greatest pitcher that has ever stepped on the mound. They
- 13:28Speaker 9: talk about how they measure speed now, because they say
- 13:32Speaker 9: guys throw like 105, 107, and they said Nolan Ryan
- 13:35Speaker 9: was the first one to break the 100-mile mark on
- 13:38Speaker 9: the mound. But when he did it, it was back
- 13:41Speaker 9: in the day when they measured it differently. They say
- 13:44Speaker 9: if they measured it today, Nolan Ryan could throw the
- 13:47Speaker 9: ball about 112 miles an hour. which is why he
- 13:51Speaker 9: was an absolute menace on the Hill and everybody faced him.
- 13:55Speaker 9: And he pitched until he was, what, 47 years old? Through,
- 14:00Speaker 9: was it how many no-hitters? Was it five no-hitters? It's
- 14:07Speaker 9: unbelievable how many no-hitters he's got. Through one or two,
- 14:11Speaker 9: was it one here in Houston or two here in Houston?
- 14:13Speaker 9: One in Dallas up there in Arlington for the Rangers.
- 14:17Speaker 9: When he was 40, I think 41, 42. If you
- 14:21Speaker 9: ever go, just do a dig on it. Seven no-hitters.
- 14:25Speaker 11: Seven.
- 14:25Speaker 9: Sorry, seven. It was five when he came to Houston.
- 14:29Speaker 9: Thank you for clarifying that, Cash. Look at that.
- 14:33Speaker 10: Sorry.
- 14:34Speaker 9: Sorry, he doesn't have five. He has seven. I think,
- 14:40Speaker 9: was it Sandy Kovacs, I think, threw four or five.
- 14:44Speaker 9: But that was the closest. But the game doesn't go
- 14:48Speaker 9: that way anymore. Guys come out of games with no
- 14:51Speaker 9: hit ball. Baseball's stupid now, so I don't watch it. Anyway,
- 14:55Speaker 9: I didn't intend to talk this long about it, but
- 14:57Speaker 9: so Rocket Rogers is going to get himself a Medal
- 14:59Speaker 9: of Freedom thanks to the great Anjwanda. Trump asked last night, no, really,
- 15:05Speaker 9: where's Tallarico? Where's Tallarico? He had some other things to
- 15:09Speaker 9: say about James Tallarico, which is, this is so Trump
- 15:13Speaker 9: and so hilarious.
- 15:15Speaker 16: Terrible fake. And he is a fake. He said all
- 15:19Speaker 16: of a sudden he's a vegan.
- 15:22Speaker 17: You know, my wife told me, sir, you have to
- 15:24Speaker 17: do me just a little bit of a favor.
- 15:26Speaker 16: It's not vague and it's vegan. I don't know about
- 15:29Speaker 16: that stuff. I'm not into it. And he said, it's vegan.
- 15:32Speaker 16: Please pronounce that word properly. I called it vegan, bacon.
- 15:36Speaker 16: I thought, how the hell would I know?
- 15:38Speaker 18: I like steak.
- 15:41Speaker 9: How the hell would I know? I like steak. We
- 15:44Speaker 9: like steak. I don't like vegans, vegans, whatever. He's got
- 15:50Speaker 9: non-meat products coming out of his eyes, his ears, his whatever.
- 15:55Speaker 9: But the question is, where is Talafrico? He's been gone
- 15:58Speaker 9: from the campaign trail for like 11 days. They claim
- 16:00Speaker 9: he's got the flu. And there's an article now from
- 16:04Speaker 9: over at Hot Air asking, why does a young, healthy
- 16:07Speaker 9: 37 year old man miss 11 days after lying? Mind you,
- 16:14Speaker 9: he went to New York to raise a whole lot
- 16:16Speaker 9: of money for his Texas race, which once again is
- 16:18Speaker 9: a dirtbag move. But that's what the dirtbag party does.
- 16:21Speaker 9: So he goes to New York is raising money. He
- 16:23Speaker 9: lies about going to a emergency care center in Dallas
- 16:27Speaker 9: while he's campaigning up in New York. And maybe he
- 16:29Speaker 9: is sick. We don't really know. But there's an interesting
- 16:32Speaker 9: article at Hot Air. We'll get to that here a
- 16:33Speaker 9: little bit later on. But Trump calling him a vegan.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 16:37Speaker 9: I like steak. I'm with Trump, too. I like steak.
- 16:40Speaker 9: I prefer chicken and some other things, but I do
- 16:43Speaker 9: like steak. A good steak is delicious, especially when the
- 16:47Speaker 9: mozzarella is just right. But that's not what we're talking about.
- 16:49Speaker 9: We're talking about James Talafrico, okay? And Trump just hammered him,
- 16:54Speaker 9: and he hammered him quite a bit last night at
- 16:56Speaker 9: the rally. The fake news coming out saying it was
- 16:59Speaker 9: a mostly empty rally. The place was jammed. There was
- 17:02Speaker 9: a line outside. How many times are they going to
- 17:06Speaker 9: continue to— the fake news going to continue to be fake
- 17:09Speaker 9: news and continue to lie about Trump? Well, as long
- 17:12Speaker 9: as it's effective within their base. That's why they're still lying.
- 17:17Speaker 9: That's why they're the lying liars who lie who will
- 17:18Speaker 9: keep lying. Murderer Krista Pike's lawyer— said she's been walking
- 17:24Speaker 9: around her hospital room after surviving the two botched lethal
- 17:27Speaker 9: injections on September 30th. She's up around and walking, and
- 17:33Speaker 9: she's kind of in good and kind of bad. She's
- 17:35Speaker 9: somewhat foggy, but she's angry. She's mad about surviving.
- 17:39Speaker 10: Wait, what?
- 17:41Speaker 9: Also, we have a city council member who did the
- 17:44Speaker 9: prayer in Ottumwa, Iowa, who praised Satan, hailed Satan, And
- 17:50Speaker 9: then a pastor stood up against him and it just,
- 17:52Speaker 9: oh my, just ridiculous. Zoran Mamdani doubled down on his
- 17:56Speaker 9: October 7th statement saying Israel's carrying out genocide in Gaza.
- 18:02Speaker 9: We'll get to that. And also, I'll make a point
- 18:04Speaker 9: to get to this one. A recent diningout.com Houston social
- 18:08Speaker 9: media post asked readers... which restaurants or cuisines they want
- 18:12Speaker 9: to see in Houston, and it sparked a lot of
- 18:14Speaker 9: great responses. So we'll get to that at some point today.
- 18:17Speaker 9: And your phone calls, 281-558-KSEV. We're just getting started. You're
- 18:22Speaker 9: listening to Chris X Radio.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Elections have consequences. So does your radio dial. Don't touch it.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Chris X Radio returns after this.
- 18:37Speaker 19: I'm Mike Schofield, and I will always keep you and
- 18:40Speaker 19: your family first. As your state representative, I'm working to
- 18:44Speaker 19: pass tough new laws forcing liberal district attorneys to prosecute
- 18:48Speaker 19: violent offenders to keep them off the streets and behind
- 18:51Speaker 19: bars where they belong. Protecting our families and our community
- 18:54Speaker 19: is important to me. That's why I passed a tough
- 18:57Speaker 19: new law protecting children from criminals engaged in human trafficking.
- 19:01Speaker 7: Let's keep Mike Schofield working for us. Mike Schofield is
- 19:06Speaker 7: fighting to keep our economy strong by supporting small businesses.
- 19:10Speaker 19: I know that to stop inflation and create better local jobs,
- 19:14Speaker 19: we must cut taxes and burdensome regulations on small businesses.
- 19:18Speaker 19: As your state representative, I believe that small business is
- 19:21Speaker 19: the heartbeat of our local economy. That's why I champion
- 19:24Speaker 19: policies to stop the rising cost on small businesses, helping
- 19:28Speaker 19: them keep more of their hard earned dollars.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Let's keep Mike Schofield working for us.
- 19:34Speaker 19: Paid political ad, Mike Schofield campaign.

- 19:54Speaker 21: Fall just got a whole lot more flavorful. The fall
- 19:57Speaker 21: sale is on now at Specs. Spice up the season

- 20:18Speaker 11: At Specs Wines, Spirits, and Finer Foods.
- 20:21Speaker 22: Cheers to savings.
- 20:23Speaker 23: You know, where we go in life matters and what
- 20:25Speaker 23: we do matters. And we know that taking the wrong
- 20:27Speaker 23: road won't produce the best outcomes. Hi, I'm Kathy with
- 20:31Speaker 23: Baker Mortgage. and we want you to take the right
- 20:34Speaker 23: path when it comes to your mortgage. You know, we
- 20:36Speaker 23: live in a world of information overload, but always consider
- 20:40Speaker 23: the source, and these are not generally going to be
- 20:42Speaker 23: from your big bank or a random offer that comes
- 20:45Speaker 23: across your screen. Remember, you're always going to get a
- 20:48Speaker 23: better deal on one that you go looking for than
- 20:50Speaker 23: one that comes looking for you. You need to deal
- 20:53Speaker 23: with somebody who gives a you-know-what, whether or not you're
- 20:55Speaker 23: happy in the end. At Baker Mortgage, we do it right.
- 20:59Speaker 23: We haven't been around for 68 years because we're lucky.
- 21:02Speaker 23: We don't sell CDs, insurance, or anything else. We just
- 21:06Speaker 23: provide a great mortgage experience. Isn't that what you're looking for?
- 21:10Speaker 23: Call us at Baker Mortgage. I promise you'll be glad
- 21:13Speaker 23: you did. We're at 281-313-MOVE or go directly to bakermortgage.com.
- 21:18Speaker 9: Equal Housing Lender. License number 263213.
- 21:23Speaker 22: Tune in each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for On
- 21:25Speaker 22: the Money with your host and CEO of Allied Wealth Texas,
- 21:29Speaker 22: Ryan Wheelis, who can help you live your richest life
- 21:31Speaker 22: possible during your retirement years. That's each Sunday at 9 a.m.
- 21:35Speaker 22: right here on AM700 KSCV.
- 21:38Speaker 3: You can't stop him. You can only hope to contain him.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Chris X Radio.
- 21:56Speaker 9: Cash, do you ever miss Soundgarden?
- 21:57Speaker 11: I think about him every once in a while.
- 22:04Speaker 9: Why do I always ask the weirdest, dumbest questions? Because
- 22:08Speaker 9: that's my job. Welcome back to Chris X Radio. I'm
- 22:11Speaker 9: the aforementioned X-Man. Got Cash flying the mothership. He's assumed
- 22:15Speaker 9: control of the airwaves. He's going to do his best
- 22:18Speaker 9: to maintain control of these airways for the next couple
- 22:20Speaker 9: hours as we fly across this great city, great counties.
- 22:25Speaker 9: I don't know if Harris is considered a great county anymore,
- 22:30Speaker 9: but we're trying to take it back. Montgomery, Brazoria, Fort Bend,
- 22:36Speaker 9: Galveston County, Washington County. I'm trying to think of some
- 22:41Speaker 9: of the other counties. I drive through a lot of
- 22:44Speaker 9: them when I'm heading up to the Hill Country. So
- 22:47Speaker 9: I may be doing a little hog hunting this weekend.
- 22:49Speaker 9: We'll see. We'll see if I can get out of here. Because,
- 22:52Speaker 9: once again, this is our Friday show on Thursday, so
- 22:55Speaker 9: I'm out. But poor Cash has to stay. He's got
- 22:57Speaker 9: to fly the mothership, make sure the Amigos. Do the
- 22:59Speaker 9: Amigos use the curb feelers that we put on during
- 23:02Speaker 9: the week as well, or do they not use those
- 23:03Speaker 9: on Fridays?
- 23:04Speaker 11: No, there are no curb feelers there, man.
- 23:09Speaker 9: Well, then I just won't make any comments about them
- 23:10Speaker 9: banking off buildings. I won't say anything about that then.
- 23:14Speaker 9: Won't say a word. All right, we will get your
- 23:17Speaker 9: phone call since it is our Friday show on Thursday, 281-558-KSEV, 281-558-5738.
- 23:25Speaker 9: Let's go to Andy. Andy's been patiently holding. Andy, thank
- 23:28Speaker 9: you for hanging on. Welcome to Chris X Radio.
- 23:32Speaker 17: Hey, Chris.
- 23:33Speaker 24: Hey, just to let you know, I think Nolan Ryan
- 23:34Speaker 24: is the one that should be getting that thing, the
- 23:38Speaker 24: medal from the president. I remember years ago going to
- 23:41Speaker 24: the Astrodome and seeing him pitch, and as it was
- 23:45Speaker 24: going on, people would put big old Ks up on
- 23:47Speaker 24: the wall. Each time he'd strike out somebody. That was amazing.
- 23:53Speaker 9: Oh, God, yeah. His strikeout numbers are just... He's got over,
- 23:57Speaker 9: I can't remember, over 5,000. Cash can look up the numbers,
- 24:01Speaker 9: but the next closest pitcher to him is Randy Johnson,
- 24:04Speaker 9: who has barely, I think, I don't even know if
- 24:06Speaker 9: he's reached halfway. So no one ever touched those numbers.
- 24:10Speaker 9: I used to love going and watching Nolan Ryan in
- 24:13Speaker 9: the Astrodome. Funny story, when Nolan Ryan threw his sixth no-hitter,
- 24:18Speaker 9: which was in the Astrodome... my next door neighbor was
- 24:22Speaker 9: my best friend uh he had tickets but we were
- 24:25Speaker 9: supposed to go with his uncle and my mom didn't
- 24:28Speaker 9: know his uncle didn't know who he was or whatever
- 24:30Speaker 9: she wouldn't allow me to go so i didn't get
- 24:32Speaker 9: to go to that game and he did oh gosh
- 24:36Speaker 9: i was so upset as a kid now you know
- 24:37Speaker 9: hindsight looking back my mom made the right call you
- 24:40Speaker 9: don't know people you don't let you go your kids
- 24:42Speaker 9: go with them so it was the right call but
- 24:43Speaker 9: it was i was so mad i was like thanks
- 24:46Speaker 9: a lot mom But Nolan's records are untouchable, and it's
- 24:52Speaker 9: amazing how good he truly was. And like I said,
- 24:56Speaker 9: him being from this area, and he's still around. I
- 24:57Speaker 9: think he still lives up in Alvin. So he's a
- 25:00Speaker 9: national treasure on your right. He should definitely get the
- 25:03Speaker 9: Presidential Award Medal for Freedom along with the Rocket. I
- 25:07Speaker 9: can't say anything. Trump has known Roger Clemens for a
- 25:10Speaker 9: long time. And Roger was an amazing athlete. I'd put
- 25:13Speaker 9: him up there with many of the ones that have
- 25:15Speaker 9: already received that Medal of Honor. But, yes, I agree
- 25:19Speaker 9: with you 100%. Nolan Ryan should not be left off
- 25:22Speaker 9: that list. He should get one.
- 25:24Speaker 24: Now, the other thing, a while back, my wife and I,
- 25:27Speaker 24: we sold our house and we moved into Kingwood. And
- 25:30Speaker 24: we applied for our voter's registration through our driver's license,
- 25:34Speaker 24: and it never came in. And then I heard on
- 25:36Speaker 24: the Amigas they said that they had an issue about
- 25:39Speaker 24: the driver's license, no registration going. So I went ahead
- 25:42Speaker 24: and picked up new cards and refilled them out and
- 25:45Speaker 24: dropped them off at the precinct. And I've got my
- 25:48Speaker 24: voter's registration card done. Both my wife and I are
- 25:51Speaker 24: ready to go and vote all straight Republican here in
- 25:53Speaker 24: Harris County.
- 25:55Speaker 9: For good on multiple accounts. I'm glad you followed up,
- 25:57Speaker 9: did that, and voted. Also good, straight. Yeah, that's the
- 26:00Speaker 9: whole thing. I'm the same way. I'm voting for everybody
- 26:03Speaker 9: with an R next to their name, hands down. Of course,
- 26:05Speaker 9: I know a little more than the average schmo, but
- 26:07Speaker 9: that being said, it's a no-doubter. It's a vote between
- 26:11Speaker 9: common sense or voting for insane people, and I'm not
- 26:14Speaker 9: going to vote for the crazies to govern me. I'm sorry.
- 26:17Speaker 9: I'm not that crazy yet.
- 26:19Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 24: Now, today is my Friday, too, because I'm thinking tomorrow
- 26:22Speaker 24: is a vacation day. But instead of going where you're
- 26:25Speaker 24: going to, West Texas, I'm going down to Angleton. That's
- 26:29Speaker 24: where I have 15 bee colonies down there. And this
- 26:32Speaker 24: is the first week that we've had under 100-degree temperatures.
- 26:36Speaker 24: And so I'm going to harvest about 10 boxes of
- 26:38Speaker 24: honey off these bees tomorrow morning before it gets any warmer.
- 26:43Speaker 9: Man, first of all, there'll be great weather for that.
- 26:45Speaker 9: That's pretty amazing. So that's very cool. Yeah, like I said, well,
- 26:49Speaker 9: thanks for the call, Andy, and I'm glad you get
- 26:50Speaker 9: a weekend. By the way, I forget Monday is Columbus Day.
- 26:55Speaker 9: Some people celebrate Indigenous People's Day or whatever. No, no, no.
- 26:59Speaker 9: I'm going to celebrate. In fact, I'll probably be out
- 27:01Speaker 9: on Monday. I'm going to celebrate Columbus Day. Thank you
- 27:03Speaker 9: for the call, Andy. Good to hear from you.
- 27:05Speaker 24: Get lots of honey.
- 27:06Speaker 9: And yeah, like I said, feel free to send some
- 27:08Speaker 9: my way. I like that. That's supposed to be good
- 27:10Speaker 9: for the allergies. And I remember talking with you about
- 27:13Speaker 9: that in the past. You know, it is kind of
- 27:14Speaker 9: funny that once my, you know, I got past being
- 27:18Speaker 9: the long COVID or whatever the hell it was I had,
- 27:20Speaker 9: whatever the hell it was, Once I got past all
- 27:23Speaker 9: of that, my allergies basically went away. I still get
- 27:26Speaker 9: a little bit once in a while, but nothing like
- 27:29Speaker 9: it was before. So that tells me I was more
- 27:33Speaker 9: sick than it was allergies. Anyway, okay, thanks for the call, Andy.
- 27:36Speaker 9: Let's take a break. You're listening to Chris X Radio.
- 27:39Speaker 9: If you want to get in, this opens up a line.
- 27:41Speaker 9: The lines are full, except for one line now that
- 27:44Speaker 9: just opened up.
- 27:45Speaker 25: 281-558-KSCB.
- 27:45Speaker 6: 281-558-5738.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Man, that homegrown, legit, what do you call it, organic honey?
- 27:57Speaker 9: Is that considered organic?
- 27:59Speaker 10: Yep.
- 28:01Speaker 9: So I don't know how anyone else can compete with
- 28:04Speaker 9: that kind of honey. That stuff is amazing. And by
- 28:06Speaker 9: the way, my hat's off to you. I don't want
- 28:08Speaker 9: to get anywhere near swarms of bees. So I won't
- 28:13Speaker 9: be doing anything close to that. What's funny is when
- 28:15Speaker 9: I go into the hill country, they used to have,
- 28:17Speaker 9: you know, bee colonies there. And I remember those little
- 28:22Speaker 9: opaque sort of, you know, bee homes that they had
- 28:25Speaker 9: for all the bees. And we knew to stay away
- 28:26Speaker 9: from that area. Don't want to go screw up and
- 28:29Speaker 9: get tangled up with some bees. So anyhow, all right, 281-558-KSCB.
- 28:34Speaker 9: You're listening to Chris X Radio. We're just getting started
- 28:36Speaker 9: here on our Friday show on Thursday. We'll be right back.

- 30:08Speaker 12: As a Texan, you deserve your court system to deliver
- 30:10Speaker 12: justice that is fair, understandable, and within reach. Chief Justice
- 30:15Speaker 12: Jimmy Blacklock says that starts with judges applying the law
- 30:18Speaker 12: as written so the rules don't change depending on who
- 30:21Speaker 12: walks into the courtroom. But fairness also means a court
- 30:24Speaker 12: system that works for the people it serves. Blacklock has
- 30:27Speaker 12: called for reducing unnecessary delays and expenses, simplifying court procedures,
- 30:32Speaker 12: and making legal services more affordable. Because a case should
- 30:36Speaker 12: be decided on the facts and the law, not on
- 30:38Speaker 12: who can afford the longest fight. Texas courts belong to
- 30:42Speaker 12: the people. That means judges should be accountable, rules should
- 30:45Speaker 12: be clear, and the system should be accessible to those
- 30:48Speaker 12: who rely on it. For Blacklock, equal justice means more
- 30:52Speaker 12: than a principle. It means a court system Texans can understand, trust,
- 30:56Speaker 12: and afford to use. Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock.
- 31:00Speaker 7: Clear rules.
- 31:01Speaker 12: Accountable courts. Equal justice under law.
- 31:04Speaker 9: Political ad paid for by the Jimmy Blacklock Campaign.
- 31:07Speaker 29: Your home is so important to you and your family.
- 31:09Speaker 29: Jim Clouk, a.k.a. Checker Pro Joe, here to keep you safe, dry,
- 31:13Speaker 29: and save you money. Catch our expert guests throughout the
- 31:15Speaker 29: week right here on KSCV, The Voice of Texas, or
- 31:19Speaker 29: at checkerpro.com.
- 31:20Speaker 12: That's checkerpro.com.
- 31:23Speaker 18: From the KSCV Weather Center, tonight will be clear with
- 31:26Speaker 18: a low of 66. Tomorrow is expected to be mostly
- 31:29Speaker 18: sunny and very warm, with the temperature reaching a high
- 31:32Speaker 18: of 93, close to the record high of 94 set
- 31:34Speaker 18: in 2017-2022. Tomorrow night will be mainly clear with a
- 31:38Speaker 18: low of 67. Moving on to Saturday, it will be
- 31:41Speaker 18: warm with intervals of clouds and sunshine reaching a high
- 31:44Speaker 18: of 90. Sunday will bring mostly sunny and warm weather
- 31:46Speaker 18: with a high of 90. With the KSCV Weather Center forecast,
- 31:50Speaker 18: I'm AccuWeather meteorologist Jason Catarina.
- 31:58Speaker 3: And now, back to Chris X Radio on The Voice
- 32:01Speaker 3: of Texas.
- 32:14Speaker 9: You know, I saw somebody posting on social media that
- 32:18Speaker 9: Aerosmith is going back on tour, and they had concert
- 32:21Speaker 9: tickets for sale. Are they going back on tour with
- 32:25Speaker 9: Steven Tyler as the singer? I don't know. I didn't
- 32:28Speaker 9: think they would go research it. I guess I should
- 32:30Speaker 9: go look that up. But tickets were like $ 1, 000 for
- 32:34Speaker 9: just basic seats, not floor seats, nothing special. The cheapest
- 32:38Speaker 9: she could find. She was like, listen, I'm a person
- 32:40Speaker 9: that goes.
- 32:42Speaker 9: There's been concerts for whatever back in the day and
- 32:45Speaker 9: there's like a thousand bucks is a little steep. I agree.
- 32:50Speaker 9: I think a thousand bucks is a lot steep. Once again,
- 32:52Speaker 9: I remember back in the 80s going to concerts for $ 12.
- 32:55Speaker 12: 50.
- 32:55Speaker 9: Seeing these bands, it just.
- 33:00Speaker 9: It's a different world. Anyway, welcome back to Chris X Radio.
- 33:03Speaker 9: It is our Friday show on Thursday, which means we'll
- 33:05Speaker 9: have a little fun today. We'll talk about whatever's on
- 33:07Speaker 9: your mind. There's still some important stuff to talk about,
- 33:10Speaker 9: and you're welcome to join us to talk about whatever
- 33:12Speaker 9: is on your mind. 281-558-KSEV. That is 281-558-5738. Roger Clemens
- 33:20Speaker 9: will be getting the Medal of Freedom from President Trump.
- 33:23Speaker 9: And then our previous caller, Andy, said Nolan Ryan should
- 33:25Speaker 9: get it, and I agree. He is the greatest pitcher
- 33:28Speaker 9: of all time. And then Trump was asking at the
- 33:31Speaker 9: San Antonio rally, being typical Trump, was hilarious yesterday talking
- 33:37Speaker 9: about James Tallarico. It wasn't about him. By the way,
- 33:42Speaker 9: Tallarico has been missing for like 12 days now. Nobody
- 33:45Speaker 9: knows he canceled the campaign events. They claim he's got
- 33:49Speaker 9: the flu, but for two weeks. And there's all these
- 33:54Speaker 9: rumors now. They're just rumors, so I'm not even going to.
- 33:57Speaker 9: state any of those, but they claim he's got the flu,
- 34:00Speaker 9: and that's why he canceled these events, but he'll be
- 34:01Speaker 9: back on the campaign trail on this weekend. Anyway, a
- 34:08Speaker 9: lot of rumors, but Trump was talking about something else
- 34:10Speaker 9: at the rally. He talked about that.
- 34:12Speaker 6: So this terrible fake, and he is a fake, he
- 34:17Speaker 6: said all of a sudden, he's a vegan.
- 34:20Speaker 17: You know, my wife told me, sir... You have to
- 34:23Speaker 17: do me just a little bit of a favor. It's
- 34:25Speaker 17: not vegan, it's vegan.
- 34:26Speaker 16: I don't know about that stuff. I'm not into it.
- 34:29Speaker 16: But he said, it's vegan. Please pronounce that word properly.
- 34:32Speaker 16: I called it vegan, bacon. I thought, how the hell
- 34:35Speaker 16: would I know?
- 34:36Speaker 9: I like steak. Trump being Trump. How the hell would
- 34:42Speaker 9: I know? I like steak. I agree. I prefer steak. Well, chicken, steak.
- 34:50Speaker 9: I don't eat fish that often. Probably should eat fish
- 34:52Speaker 9: a little more often. There's also a diningout.com Houston social
- 34:56Speaker 9: media post asking readers, and I'll get to this here
- 35:00Speaker 9: later in the program, which restaurants or cuisines they want
- 35:03Speaker 9: to see in Houston. And it sparked dozens of passionate responses,
- 35:07Speaker 9: calls to resurrect long-lost Houston institutions, to please for buzzy
- 35:11Speaker 9: out-of-town imports and... undeserved local and global cuisines. So I'll
- 35:18Speaker 9: get into this because man, some of those restaurants that
- 35:20Speaker 9: have long gone by or have been gone by for
- 35:23Speaker 9: a short time that are now no longer here in
- 35:25Speaker 9: Houston is man. We hate that. There were some really
- 35:29Speaker 9: good ones on the list and we'll tell you which
- 35:31Speaker 9: one got the most buzz on what they want to
- 35:33Speaker 9: come back. So we'll get to that. But once again,
- 35:37Speaker 9: I don't know. Does ballpark food count? Would you count
- 35:41Speaker 9: nachos and hot dogs cash as a staple to food
- 35:46Speaker 9: here in Houston?
- 35:48Speaker 11: Houston stapled food?
- 35:51Speaker 9: No, it's a staple, like a staple that we would
- 35:53Speaker 9: really enjoy. Would you consider it to be cuisine, like
- 35:57Speaker 9: ballpark dogs or nachos or, you know, things over at, like, well,
- 36:02Speaker 9: formerly the Astrodome, now formerly Minute Maid, Enron, Dyken Park?
- 36:07Speaker 9: I was trying to remember the name of it. Nice.
- 36:10Speaker 11: Now, no, not personally.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Why?
- 36:11Speaker 3: Are you?
- 36:11Speaker 9: Nah, not necessarily. But they often do. I think they
- 36:17Speaker 9: still do. It's been a while since I've been to
- 36:18Speaker 9: the ballpark. I still think they do dollar dog nights.
- 36:21Speaker 9: I'm not sure. Anyway, let's go to the phones. 281-558-KSEV.
- 36:27Speaker 17: 281-558-5738.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Let's go to George listening in Tomball. George, thank you
- 36:30Speaker 9: for hanging on. Welcome to Chris X Radio.
- 36:33Speaker 30: Hey, thank you, Chris. First, thanks for the good lead-in.
- 36:37Speaker 30: That's a... That's exactly what I was going to talk about.
- 36:40Speaker 30: I may not know much about baseball, football, or basically
- 36:44Speaker 30: any kind of sport, but that dollar hot dog day,
- 36:48Speaker 30: that is the sole reason why I go to see
- 36:50Speaker 30: a baseball game. And you should also know that Nolan
- 36:55Speaker 30: Ryan is known for his quality meat products. He received
- 37:02Speaker 30: the National Golden Spur Award, the Chester A. Reynolds Award,
- 37:08Speaker 30: And he's got the USDA guaranteed tender verification on his
- 37:14Speaker 30: beef products. So, I mean, I don't know much about baseball,
- 37:18Speaker 30: but that dollar hot dog, I tell you, is worth
- 37:21Speaker 30: the trip downtown.
- 37:23Speaker 10: And I heard they even have.
- 37:24Speaker 9: It over at the.
- 37:25Speaker 30: I think the Space Cowboys also do it on Tuesdays.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Well, certainly. Yeah.
- 37:31Speaker 9: And the man should get the award.
- 37:32Speaker 10: I mean, you know, he.
- 37:38Speaker 30: Got the toughest. Isn't he the one that went the
- 37:42Speaker 30: longest without calling in sick? Maybe he should be running
- 37:47Speaker 30: instead of Talafrico.
- 37:50Speaker 9: He'd get my vote over Talafrico for sure. Thanks for
- 37:53Speaker 9: the call, George. Yeah, a good point. I remember going
- 37:56Speaker 9: to the Dome and getting, you know, the dollar dogs.
- 38:00Speaker 9: And then, of course, they had that. I think they
- 38:02Speaker 9: still do at Dyken Park now. It's called formerly Minute
- 38:06Speaker 9: Maid Park, formerly Tenron Field. I'm sorry, Enron Field. Uh, so,
- 38:12Speaker 9: but that's great because the food at the ballpark is
- 38:14Speaker 9: really expensive, man. You go get, and I don't drink beer,
- 38:17Speaker 9: but a lot of people will drink the beer and
- 38:18Speaker 9: I don't know what the beer costs, but just getting
- 38:21Speaker 9: a soda and, uh, some nachos and a hot dog, man,
- 38:25Speaker 9: that'll run you about $ 45. I actually, I don't even
- 38:28Speaker 9: know what it costs now because it's been at least
- 38:32Speaker 9: probably six years since I've been to a ball game
- 38:35Speaker 9: and I've been invited a few times and just, nah,
- 38:38Speaker 9: I'm out of it. But, you know what, dollar dogs,
- 38:40Speaker 9: I can understand that. I used to love that night
- 38:43Speaker 9: because you go and, man, you get four or five
- 38:45Speaker 9: of those hot dogs, spend five bucks and then a drink,
- 38:48Speaker 9: and that's another five bucks back then. So for $ 10
- 38:52Speaker 9: or $ 12, you can actually eat well. Now, is it
- 38:54Speaker 9: the greatest food in the world? I wouldn't call it
- 38:56Speaker 9: necessarily as cash for saying fine dining, but... Here in Houston,
- 39:00Speaker 9: we've got a lot of good choices to eat. And
- 39:02Speaker 9: over the years, we've had a lot of great places
- 39:04Speaker 9: that have gone by the wayside. And we'll get to
- 39:06Speaker 9: that with that Dining Out Guide, that social media post.
- 39:11Speaker 9: They got so many responses on the restaurants that people
- 39:14Speaker 9: would like to bring back. So it'd be really cool
- 39:17Speaker 9: to get some of them back. Let's get another call
- 39:19Speaker 9: in here before we have to break. 281-558-KSEV.
- 39:25Speaker 30: 281-558-5738.
- 39:25Speaker 9: Let's go to Leonard, who's been patiently holding in Cyprus. Leonard,
- 39:28Speaker 9: thank you for hanging on. Welcome to Chris X Radio.
- 39:32Speaker 6: Hello, Chris.
- 39:32Speaker 24: How are you doing?
- 39:34Speaker 9: I'm good, sir. How are you today, Leonard?
- 39:37Speaker 31: Bless you and God bless your show.
- 39:39Speaker 9: God bless you as well. What's on your mind today?
- 39:43Speaker 31: Let's talk about the Democrat criminals.
- 39:49Speaker 9: Yeah, they're pretty much all criminals at this point, but yes,
- 39:54Speaker 9: I agree.
- 39:56Speaker 31: Black Americans, I think, are at least 99.9% over, you know,
- 40:02Speaker 31: they're all Democrats, over 99.9%. Yeah. My black friends, they're Democrats, and,
- 40:13Speaker 31: you know, anywhere I go, oh, yeah, you're a Democrat.
- 40:16Speaker 31: So when I call out a criminal, black criminal and
- 40:20Speaker 31: say he's a Democrat, they get upset.
- 40:25Speaker 9: It's... You know, it's a it's a bizarre time we
- 40:29Speaker 9: live in.
- 40:29Speaker 10: You're right.
- 40:29Speaker 9: When you call out like these criminals and many black people, unfortunately,
- 40:33Speaker 9: the vast majority of crime usually committed in the inner
- 40:35Speaker 9: cities is by young black men. So there's a lot
- 40:38Speaker 9: of criminals. Very few of them would be considered Republicans.
- 40:41Speaker 9: In fact, the only Republican that's made any headway into
- 40:44Speaker 9: the black community was Donald Trump. But like I said,
- 40:47Speaker 9: that's really the only one. The rest of you're right.
- 40:49Speaker 9: It's ninety nine percent that goes for Democrats. So there's
- 40:54Speaker 9: a direct correlation there.
- 40:57Speaker 31: Yeah, and, you know, they're sheltered and they're associated. It's
- 41:03Speaker 31: a given, man.
- 41:05Speaker 32: It's a given.
- 41:06Speaker 31: And until they change, you know, that's the way it'll be,
- 41:09Speaker 31: and that's the way I call it.
- 41:11Speaker 9: Yeah, this is, and you do, one of the things
- 41:14Speaker 9: I always enjoy about your phone calls, thank you for
- 41:15Speaker 9: the call, Leonard, is you do call it the way
- 41:17Speaker 9: you see it. And clearly you're not one of those people.
- 41:21Speaker 9: I mean, I know you, I've seen pictures of you
- 41:23Speaker 9: and your lovely wife after celebrating, what, 50 years of
- 41:26Speaker 9: being married. And so, like I said, you've had, you're
- 41:29Speaker 9: a black man. Oh my God, you serve this country
- 41:32Speaker 9: proudly in the military. You know, not all black people
- 41:36Speaker 9: are bad. Not all black Democrats are bad. But the
- 41:41Speaker 9: black Democrats and the white Democrats and the Hispanic Democrats
- 41:45Speaker 9: that are all committing crimes and then going and voting
- 41:48Speaker 9: for the Democrats who enable them to commit crimes, well,
- 41:53Speaker 9: they're the ones that seem to be the most touchy
- 41:55Speaker 9: about being called criminals. The other thing, too, is we're
- 41:58Speaker 9: talking about something that we've seen mainly in the inner cities.
- 42:01Speaker 9: This is not just inner cities, but cities where the
- 42:04Speaker 9: crime is, whereas we know the black community has 78 percent.
- 42:09Speaker 9: What is it? Homes without fathers. And that also goes
- 42:12Speaker 9: for Hispanic or whites. Homes without fathers is where the
- 42:15Speaker 9: vast majority of criminals come from. So when you've got
- 42:18Speaker 9: a huge number like that, it tends to lead to
- 42:22Speaker 9: more crime, which can often skew the statistics. But nonetheless,
- 42:26Speaker 9: they're they're actual numbers and those need to be addressed.
- 42:30Speaker 9: But most people, as you point out, they're scared to
- 42:32Speaker 9: call it out. Oh, my God, you're going to call
- 42:35Speaker 9: me a racist. The racism card always falls a little
- 42:44Speaker 9: shy with me. I just don't like that. I'm still
- 42:48Speaker 9: one of those weird people that believed in Martin Luther
- 42:50Speaker 9: King when he said we should judge people by the
- 42:52Speaker 9: content of their character and not the color of their skin.
- 42:59Speaker 9: I imagine you're the same way, Leonard, as well as
- 43:01Speaker 9: a lot of other people. But we have been trained
- 43:04Speaker 9: by the Democrat Party. No, no, no, no, no. The
- 43:07Speaker 9: only racism in the world is white men. That is
- 43:11Speaker 9: one of the most racist statements you will ever hear
- 43:14Speaker 9: from propagandists pushing a false narrative in order to try
- 43:18Speaker 9: to gain a foothold in a community that, as you
- 43:20Speaker 9: pointed out, votes 99 percent Democrat. And they are terrified.
- 43:27Speaker 9: Why do you think they hate Trump so much and
- 43:29Speaker 9: want to destroy him everywhere? Because he was making inroads
- 43:34Speaker 9: in communities that the Democrat Party has owned for decades.
- 43:41Speaker 9: It's amazing. You go back, you watch the government, the
- 43:45Speaker 9: Democrats went in, took the fathers out of the black households,
- 43:48Speaker 9: and then they took over and the government will raise
- 43:50Speaker 9: your kids. And I don't know if you're aware of this,
- 43:53Speaker 9: but the government isn't good at anything. especially raising your children,
- 43:58Speaker 9: because we've seen from those communities an explosion of crime, corruption,
- 44:04Speaker 9: and God knows what else. So that's pretty clear. It's
- 44:09Speaker 9: not necessarily the color. It is the content of the character.
- 44:14Speaker 9: All right, let's take a short break. Thanks for the call, Leonard.
- 44:16Speaker 9: Always good to hear from you. 281-558-KSCV, 281-558-5738. I'm Chris X.
- 44:23Speaker 9: We'll come back, wrap up this first hour, and get
- 44:25Speaker 9: you locked and loaded for hour number two. It is
- 44:27Speaker 9: our Friday show on Thursday. What is on your mind today? 281-558-KSCV.
- 44:32Speaker 9: We'll be right back.
- 44:38Speaker 3: The resistance is futile.

- 44:58Speaker 33: When it comes to.
- 44:59Speaker 9: Garage doors, no one knows more.

- 45:05Speaker 10: Garage Door Doctor.
- 45:08Speaker 35: If there's just one piece of advice I could give
- 45:10Speaker 35: every homeowner, it's this. If your garage door spring breaks,
- 45:14Speaker 35: don't try to fix it. Those springs are under incredible tension.
- 45:17Speaker 35: They're designed to lift the garage door that can weigh two, three,
- 45:20Speaker 35: or even 400 pounds. When they fail, they can be
- 45:23Speaker 35: dangerous without the right tools and the right training. Hi,
- 45:26Speaker 35: I'm Tommy Mello, CEO of Garage Door Doctor. The good news,
- 45:30Speaker 35: most spring replacements are very straightforward when performed by an
- 45:33Speaker 35: expert technician. We use high-quality springs designed to last a lifetime.

- 46:32Speaker 10: All rise.
- 46:33Speaker 36: The state of Texas versus Juan and Mary Sanchez. The charge,
- 46:37Speaker 36: child abuse for refusing to recognize their son as a girl.
- 46:42Speaker 33: Sounds insane, right? Well, Gina Hinojosa supports the radical policy
- 46:46Speaker 33: of taxpayers paying for sex change surgery for kids and
- 46:50Speaker 33: the assault on parental rights. And Hinojosa believes schools should
- 46:54Speaker 33: be able to transition children behind their parents' backs. But
- 46:58Speaker 33: that's just the beginning. Gina Hinojosa supports allowing boys and
- 47:02Speaker 33: girls sports and in their locker rooms. It's gross, unfair,
- 47:06Speaker 33: and harmful to girls. And what does Gina Hinojosa say
- 47:10Speaker 33: about it?
- 47:11Speaker 12: Listen to this.
- 47:12Speaker 21: I really don't understand how girls would be hurt by this.
- 47:14Speaker 21: A threat to our little girls that doesn't exist.
- 47:19Speaker 33: Gina Hinojosa, radical, dangerous. We cannot allow her to become
- 47:24Speaker 33: governor of Texas.
- 47:26Speaker 9: Political ad paid for by Texans for Greg Abbott.

- 47:48Speaker 3: And now, we return you to your regularly scheduled dose
- 47:51Speaker 3: of common sense, Chris X Radio.
- 47:54Speaker 10: Chris X Radio.
- 48:08Speaker 9: We're beasties getting us going here. Wrap up the first
- 48:12Speaker 9: hour of the program. Welcome back to Chris X radio.
- 48:16Speaker 9: I'm the aforementioned X man. Glad to have you here
- 48:17Speaker 9: with us as we're wrapping up the first hour. Don't
- 48:20Speaker 9: go anywhere. We got our number two coming right back
- 48:22Speaker 9: at you as we do each and every weekday while
- 48:25Speaker 9: Monday through Thursday, but then the amigos take over on
- 48:29Speaker 9: Fridays from four to six. So they'll be holding down
- 48:33Speaker 9: the mothership tomorrow, or I guess holding down the fort, uh,
- 48:37Speaker 9: which is kind of a bad analogy because then the
- 48:40Speaker 9: mothership takes off and they're in control. So they'll take
- 48:44Speaker 9: over tomorrow from 4 to 6, so we'll kick off
- 48:47Speaker 9: the weekend a little earlier. By the way, Monday is
- 48:49Speaker 9: Columbus Day, so I know a lot of people have
- 48:51Speaker 9: holidays on Monday. I do believe I'm going to take
- 48:53Speaker 9: Columbus Day off as well, so I may be back
- 48:55Speaker 9: on Tuesday. Do you think, Cash, do you think the
- 48:58Speaker 9: world will survive without me for one day? Do you
- 49:00Speaker 9: think it'll happen?
- 49:03Speaker 11: I'll manage and see. I don't know.
- 49:06Speaker 9: Should I just turn over the show to you and
- 49:08Speaker 9: let you do a program, let you take it over?
- 49:10Speaker 11: Oh, no, we're not looking for absolute destruction.
- 49:14Speaker 9: Yeah, we don't want that. Okay. Well, then we won't
- 49:18Speaker 9: do that. Normally I'll... reach out and say, hey, you
- 49:21Speaker 9: might want to fill in, but it's a holiday. So,
- 49:23Speaker 9: and I know, you know, Ben Stru with The View,
- 49:25Speaker 9: Struzan works pretty hard, so I try not to bug
- 49:27Speaker 9: him on holidays to fill in for me. But if
- 49:30Speaker 9: I need to take a day off during a regular
- 49:31Speaker 9: day or whatever, I often like him. I love when
- 49:33Speaker 9: he fills in. When Ben fills in, he does such
- 49:36Speaker 9: a good job. And it's... It's different because he's here
- 49:40Speaker 9: every Friday with the amigos, El Senador, Pablo Betancourt, and
- 49:46Speaker 9: then the judge, and then, of course, Drew of the View,
- 49:48Speaker 9: hitting the judge over the head with common sense, which
- 49:50Speaker 9: it never seems to sink in. But he just doesn't
- 49:54Speaker 9: get enough time to really formulate all of his thoughts
- 49:57Speaker 9: and things, and he's a very thoughtful individual. So I
- 49:59Speaker 9: enjoy when he fills in for me because it's just him.
- 50:02Speaker 9: He's not being interrupted. Except for occasionally, I imagine the
- 50:06Speaker 9: weirdo guy, the guy Trenton. In New Jersey, which we
- 50:13Speaker 9: can't really give him that name because there's no name.
- 50:15Speaker 9: The guy's used a thousand different names to call in
- 50:18Speaker 9: from a thousand different cities in Texas with a thousand
- 50:22Speaker 9: different topics. Never once follows on any of those. So,
- 50:26Speaker 9: but there is that. But no, but I really do
- 50:29Speaker 9: enjoy when he fills in. So the next time I
- 50:32Speaker 9: take a regular day off, then I'll have him fill in.
- 50:34Speaker 9: But it looks like I'll be out on Monday with
- 50:36Speaker 9: Columbus Day. I'm going to go and invade an uncharted territory.
- 50:45Speaker 9: So then somebody can come along 200 years from now,
- 50:48Speaker 9: 250 years from now, and celebrate Indigenous Persons Day on that.
- 50:54Speaker 9: Because me and Columbus have the same first name, Christopher.
- 50:59Speaker 9: So I kind of have that going for me. All right,
- 51:02Speaker 9: so a lot going on. We can talk about, once again,
- 51:05Speaker 9: Roger Clemens, MLB legend. President Trump says he'll give him
- 51:08Speaker 9: the Medal of Freedom. Throw him on the list with
- 51:12Speaker 9: people like Babe Ruth, Vince Scully, Yogi Berra, who's got
- 51:15Speaker 9: the greatest one-liners of all time. Ernie Banks, Stan Musial,
- 51:20Speaker 9: Frank Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson,
- 51:25Speaker 9: Mariano Rivera, and Joe DiMaggio. And a great comment from
- 51:29Speaker 9: Andy earlier on in the program, and George echoed that statement,
- 51:32Speaker 9: Nolan Ryan should definitely get the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
- 51:37Speaker 9: I agree 100%. He is hands down the greatest pitcher
- 51:42Speaker 9: of all time. By the way, somebody said he lives
- 51:43Speaker 9: in Georgetown now and helps out with his, I guess,
- 51:47Speaker 9: his son or something. One of the things I do like,
- 51:50Speaker 9: I'll go to James Coney Island on occasion, which, by
- 51:53Speaker 9: the way, a lot of their locations have closed down.
- 51:56Speaker 9: But when I do, very seldom do I ever get
- 51:58Speaker 9: hot dogs. I'm not a big hot dog eater. I
- 52:02Speaker 9: usually will get the Nolan Ryan Grand Slam sliders, and
- 52:05Speaker 9: I'll get them without the onions. I like the cheese
- 52:07Speaker 9: and the pickles and the mustard. I'm not a big
- 52:10Speaker 9: fan of the onions, so I don't like onions. No Savoia.
- 52:15Speaker 9: So I don't get the onions, but, man, it's the
- 52:17Speaker 9: Nolan Ryan beef, and it tastes a little different. It's good.
- 52:22Speaker 9: I don't know who else has the Nolan Ryan beef,
- 52:24Speaker 9: but I know they do. In the next hour, we're
- 52:28Speaker 9: going to get to this diningout.com Houston social media post
- 52:31Speaker 9: that asked readers which restaurants or cuisines they'd like to
- 52:35Speaker 9: see here in Houston. And they got a bunch of
- 52:36Speaker 9: good responses and a lot of calls to resurrect these
- 52:40Speaker 9: long lost Houston institutions. And then, of course, these trendy,
- 52:46Speaker 9: you know, out of town imports and underserved global cuisines
- 52:50Speaker 9: was on there as well. What's interesting, I'll give you
- 52:54Speaker 9: a bit of a teaser. What got the loudest response
- 52:56Speaker 9: by far? Bring back steak and ale. You guys remember
- 53:00Speaker 9: steak and ale? Which is amazing because they had so
- 53:04Speaker 9: many people that closed down in Texas in 2008 and
- 53:08Speaker 9: got more mentions than any other thread, any other. In fact,
- 53:11Speaker 9: the steak and ales comeback Facebook page boasts more than 60,000 followers.
- 53:19Speaker 9: But it wasn't the only one. It just by far
- 53:21Speaker 9: the most popular one. I never went to steak and
- 53:24Speaker 9: ale that often. I guess I was a poor kid.
- 53:25Speaker 9: I didn't have that kind of money. But when I did,
- 53:28Speaker 9: it was good. All right, hour number two is up next.
- 53:30Speaker 9: Don't you go anywhere. We'll be right back.

- 54:08Speaker 17: What else?
- 54:08Speaker 30: Went and got dog food that I needed.
- 54:12Speaker 15: The National Hurricane Center says preparations to protect life and
- 54:15Speaker 15: property from storm surge and damaging winds along the warning
- 54:19Speaker 15: area of the Gulf Coast should be rushed to completion today.
- 54:23Speaker 15: The latest projections show the storm making landfall somewhere between
- 54:26Speaker 15: New Orleans and Panama City likely late Friday or early Saturday.

- 54:56Speaker 25: and state parties. He says the money will help Republicans

- 55:02Speaker 15: President Trump says the U.S. will not strike Iran in
- 55:05Speaker 15: the lead-up to the November midterm elections. In a Truth
- 55:09Speaker 15: Social post today, the president noted the U.S. is having
- 55:12Speaker 15: what he called productive discussions with Iran. He reiterated that
- 55:16Speaker 15: Iran is in very bad condition, both economically and militarily.
- 55:21Speaker 15: At the Golden Age of Innovation Summit in Washington today,
- 55:24Speaker 15: President Trump honored Elon Musk and other innovators for scientific

- 57:08Speaker 3: From KSEV, here's political contributor Ben Strewsand.
- 57:13Speaker 34: Most polling shows that Republicans are going to have a
- 57:16Speaker 34: tough time winning majorities in both houses of Congress in November.
- 57:21Speaker 34: Voters blame Trump for inflation and believe that many of
- 57:24Speaker 34: the necessities they need to purchase have become unaffordable. Two
- 57:28Speaker 34: out of three voters don't believe that preventing Iran from
- 57:32Speaker 34: building a nuclear weapon is worth the higher gas prices
- 57:36Speaker 34: that they are paying. Voters never give a president credit
- 57:39Speaker 34: for preventing bad things like a nuclear war from happening.
- 57:43Speaker 34: President Trump should realize by now that the Islamic Republic
- 57:46Speaker 34: will never agree to a deal that results in a
- 57:49Speaker 34: Trump win. The mullahs read the polls and see the
- 57:52Speaker 34: domestic political pressure to end the war.
- 57:55Speaker 9: It's part of their strategy.
- 57:56Speaker 34: We should stop chasing a bad deal. This does not
- 57:59Speaker 34: mean that we should resume unlimited airstrikes, but rather targeted
- 58:04Speaker 34: decapitation strikes against their leadership, as the Israelis used effectively.
- 58:10Speaker 34: If Iranian leaders won't cut a deal, then let's.
- 58:13Speaker 9: Get new ones.
- 58:14Speaker 34: The real leverage we have against Iran is economic. We
- 58:18Speaker 34: destroyed what Iran took decades to build, their defense industrial
- 58:22Speaker 34: base used to manufacture drones, missiles, and nuclear weapons. Inflation
- 58:28Speaker 34: in Iran is running at 40%. The blockade collapsed the
- 58:33Speaker 34: revenue stream used by the Revolutionary Guard Corps, their security services,
- 58:39Speaker 34: and all the government infrastructure. If our blockade is allowed
- 58:42Speaker 34: to continue and not stopped by Democrats... and a few
- 58:47Speaker 34: lame-duck Republicans in Congress, we can eliminate.
- 58:50Speaker 9: The mullahs' leverage over its people.
- 58:53Speaker 34: We don't need regime change to pressure them into a
- 58:57Speaker 34: better deal for us.
- 58:58Speaker 9: Just perseverance.
- 59:00Speaker 34: Intercepting what leaks out via Iran's shadow tanker fleet will
- 59:04Speaker 34: speed the process. The best guess is this pressure will take.
- 59:09Speaker 9: Six months before.
- 59:10Speaker 34: to show results, right around the time of the elections.
- 59:14Speaker 34: I'm Ben Strewsand, and that's my view.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Ben Strewsand, only on AM700 KSEV.
- 59:24Speaker 32: Thank goodness our weather experts are providing us with hurricane
- 59:27Speaker 32: tracking charts and reminding us.
- 59:29Speaker 9: To be prepared for big storms.
- 59:31Speaker 32: But they overlook one very important thing, the damage and
- 59:33Speaker 32: destruction from broken limbs and uprooted trees. Call Lewis Flory
- 59:37Speaker 32: at Ability Tree Experts today. My friend for nearly 40 years.
- 59:41Speaker 32: At 281-441-4179 and let him explain how this problem can
- 59:46Speaker 32: be minimized with professional pruning. You see, when the tree
- 59:49Speaker 32: canopy is too thick and dense, the tree can be
- 59:51Speaker 32: completely blown over and tree limbs broken. causing terrible damage
- 59:55Speaker 32: to the tree and maybe your home. Where tree limbs break,
- 59:59Speaker 32: sap will ooze, and that attracts harmful insects. So you
- 1:00:02Speaker 32: need to call Louis Flory today at 281-441-4179 and have
- 1:00:08Speaker 32: his experts come out and professionally prune your trees to
- 1:00:11Speaker 32: withstand sudden storms that are so frequent this time of year.
- 1:00:15Speaker 32: Visit their website at AbilityTrees.com. That's 281-441-4179. Ability Tree Experts,

- 1:00:24Speaker 3: KSEV, 700 AM. Launch Control, this is Houston.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: We are going for launch. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
- 1:00:44Speaker 16: It's Chris X Radio.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Chris X Radio.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: What we need right now is a clear message to
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: the people of this country.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: This message must.
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: Be read in every newspaper, heard on every radio, seen
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: on every television.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: This message must resound throughout the entire interlinked.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: And now, your host.
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: I believe this is going to be our finest hour.
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: Chris X. Thanks to the former Chris Salcedo show on
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: this station now on the torch. The Department of Justice
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: seeks an indictment of Cassidy Hutchinson for allegedly lying to
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: Congress under oath about the president. Oh, so now maybe
- 1:01:35Speaker 9: some of them chickens is coming home to roost, huh?
- 1:01:40Speaker 9: Dirt bags run amok, and they've just gotten away with
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: it for so long. So long. It's not even fair.
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: But good. Prosecutors, people lying under oath should be prosecuted. Anywho,
- 1:01:53Speaker 9: good evening and welcome to the second hour of Chris
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: X Radio. I'm the aforementioned X-Man. We've assumed control of
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: the airwaves. We'll try to maintain control here for another hour.
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: Then we'll turn it over to Joey Pags. We'll let
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: him take over. Then the Amigos take over tomorrow from
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: four to six. So we're done for the week. And
- 1:02:10Speaker 9: then we'll be back on Tuesday, God willing. You know,
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: that makes for a really short week. Just Tuesday through Thursday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: I can handle that. I say that now. Anywho, the
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: Amigos take over tomorrow from four to six. So we're out.
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: Then we'll be gone the weekend. Then it's Columbus Day
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: on Monday. Can take the holiday. In the past, I
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: know you guys maybe aren't used to it. I didn't
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: take very many holidays in the past. And I've worked back,
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: started taking some more of them now because I don't
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: know how– I honestly don't even know how many I
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: have logged, backlogged because I've worked so many of them.
- 1:02:47Speaker 9: But when you enjoy what you do, it's kind of
- 1:02:49Speaker 9: not like work, right? Well, believe it or not, this
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: little eight hours a week I supposedly work, yeah. Well–
- 1:03:00Speaker 9: I don't just actually just show up here. You know
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: what I do, Cash? I show up at 4 o'clock
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: and then go to 6, and that's it. I put
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: zero additional time or effort into the program. Can you tell?
- 1:03:10Speaker 11: I mean, that's what we tell everybody, yeah.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:03:15Speaker 9: We'll keep that secret going. We'll just keep it going. Anywho,
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: it is our Friday show on Thursday, which means this
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: makes it easier for me, too, because then we'll talk
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: about whatever's on your mind. So whatever you guys want
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: to talk about, you call us. We'll talk about it. 281-558-KSEV, 281-558-5738. Okay,
- 1:03:28Speaker 9: so Trump was asking, hey, no, really, where's Talafrico at?
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: Where's he at? There are rumors that he doesn't have
- 1:03:44Speaker 9: the flu. The campaign says he has the flu. He's
- 1:03:46Speaker 9: been off the campaign trail. I think today is day 12.
- 1:03:49Speaker 9: No one has seen him in 12 days after he
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: lied about going to an emergency clinic, whatever those little
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: clinics are called, and being treated for the flu. He's
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: a healthy 37-year-old male. who's now been off the campaign
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: trail for 12 days. You've got 93-year-old Chuck Grassley, who
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: got the flu and was back in three days, and
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: he's out on the campaign trail. He recovers faster from
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: the flu than this. I know you can't compare everybody.
- 1:04:20Speaker 9: But is that what's happened with Telefrico? Is that what's
- 1:04:23Speaker 9: going on? Actually, there is one of the rumors that
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: I believe may be true. I heard that he is
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: auditioning for the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the role
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: of Dr. Frankenfurter to continue with the hot dog theme
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: from earlier with Roger Clemens going to get the Freedom
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: Medal of Honor from the president. and then dollar dogs.
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: And then, so do you think there's any validity to
- 1:04:52Speaker 9: that story? Do you think that Tallarico is taken here
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: almost a couple of weeks off, that he's actually practicing
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: and auditioning for the role of Dr. Frankenfurter in the
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: rock era picture show cash? Do you think that's the case?
- 1:05:04Speaker 11: I mean, if he disappeared in New York where he
- 1:05:07Speaker 11: was fundraising, then Broadway's not that far.
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: It's right down the street. He could walk down the
- 1:05:15Speaker 9: street and then knock on the door. When they answered,
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: he'd go, I'm looking for a man with blonde hair
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: and a tan. I'm looking for a sweet transvestite. He's
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: a big fan of trans people. From transsexual Transylvania. See,
- 1:05:36Speaker 9: I clearly can't do that nearly good enough. With Talifrico's
- 1:05:40Speaker 9: deeper voice and his measured delivery, very Obama-esque, I think
- 1:05:45Speaker 9: he would be a great Dr. Frankenfurter. How do you
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: think he would do in that audition, Cash? You think
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: he'd nail it?
- 1:05:50Speaker 11: I mean, he's been spending so many days practicing.
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: I mean, I think anything to do with Frankenfurters, he's there.
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: He's a guy that'd be awesome. He does have a
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: background in theater in high school. He was a theater kid.
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: She's never really... Okay. All right, so also, there's a
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: lot of other stuff we got to talk about today.
- 1:06:16Speaker 9: We'll get to Krista Pike, the murderer. Her lawyer says
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: she's now walking around the hospital after surviving two botched
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: lethal injections on September 30th in Tennessee. So she's up
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: and walking around. She's a little foggy, but... She's very upset.
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: We can get into that. And then there's this weird
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: story out of Ottumwa, Ohio. Iowa, sorry. Ottumwa, Iowa. Ottumwa, Iowa.
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: Are we pronouncing the name of that damn hurricane in
- 1:06:49Speaker 9: the Gulf now? I see, I see, I or whatever. No,
- 1:06:52Speaker 9: this is Ottumwa, Iowa. A pastor is now standing up
- 1:06:58Speaker 9: against a former city council member who held the prayer,
- 1:07:02Speaker 9: I guess, yesterday morning, praying to the dark father for
- 1:07:07Speaker 9: the opening ceremony for the prayer for the city council
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: meeting on Tuesday and followed it up with a hail Satan.
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: Matthew Dalby is his name, former city council member, delivered
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: the opening prayer to the dark father, urging listeners to
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of
- 1:07:26Speaker 9: knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old.
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: He articulated the self-centric doctrines of Satanism while finishing up
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: with a hail Satan, hail Satan, which immediately led A
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: pastor stood up and was like, no, no, no, we
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: can't let you just put a curse on the city council.
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: We need to stop this right now and take the
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: curse off. And one of the city council members, this lady,
- 1:07:53Speaker 9: was like, no, Kara Galloway. She's a council member. She's like, no,
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: we've already started. We have to go. We have to
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: do with the city's business. We can't stop. We have
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: to continue. And then the current mayor said, okay, we
- 1:08:05Speaker 9: need 30 seconds for a time of prayer or silence
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: to reflect on whatever it is we need to reflect
- 1:08:10Speaker 9: on at this time. This reminds me of a quote.
- 1:08:15Speaker 9: May upset some people. From the movie Dodgeball by the
- 1:08:18Speaker 9: great philosopher known as Patchy Zohulahan. Have you seen Dodgeball, Cash?
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: Do you remember the movie? And then the dodgeball coach,
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: famous coach, Patchy Zohulahan, when he gave the assessment of
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: their dodgeball team. Looks like a couple of retards trying
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: to hump a doorknob. I generally don't call people that,
- 1:08:48Speaker 9: but that's what I have to say about that. That's
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: all I'm going to say about it, which going down
- 1:08:54Speaker 9: that direction, you had Zamdan, sorry, Zoran Mamdani. I call
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: him Moron Zamdani. He's doubling down on his October 7th
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: statement accusing Israel of carrying out genocide. Now, that being said,
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: he was at least smart enough to condemn Hamas's action,
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: but he still goes with the lie that Israel is
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: committing genocide in the name of that terrorist attack on
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: Israel the October 7th from three years ago. once again
- 1:09:21Speaker 9: dirtbag okay here's what i wanted to get to i'm
- 1:09:23Speaker 9: gonna do this in the first segment and you can
- 1:09:25Speaker 9: weigh in on this as well if you like it
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: 281-558-KSEV 281-558-5738 a recent dining out.com houston social media post
- 1:09:36Speaker 9: asked me the readers of the of which restaurants or
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: cuisines they would uh like to see in houston and
- 1:09:43Speaker 9: it sparked all kinds of comments from calls to resurrect
- 1:09:47Speaker 9: long-lost Houston institutions to pleas for these little trendy locations,
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: these imports and underserved global cuisines. What emerged wasn't just
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: a list of restaurants. It was a portrait of how
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: Houstonians eat, remember, and imagine their city. The loudest response
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: by far, bring back steak and ale. This casual steakhouse chain,
- 1:10:09Speaker 9: which disappeared in 2008, earned more mentions than any other
- 1:10:13Speaker 9: restaurant in the thread. Perhaps not surprising considering Steak and
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: Ale's comeback page on Facebook boasts more than 60,000 followers.
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: You would think a restaurant that could get that kind
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: of following would be able to maintain in Houston, but
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: I guess it was, I think it was a chain,
- 1:10:31Speaker 9: so it didn't. But it went out in 2008. For
- 1:10:33Speaker 9: many commenters, the affection felt deeply sincere rather than ironic.
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: A longing for the dark wood interiors, expansive salad bar
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: and celebratory dinners that defined suburban dining for generations. Steak
- 1:10:49Speaker 9: and Ale wrote multiple commenters with no further explanation needed. Now,
- 1:10:54Speaker 9: the same nostalgia fueled repeated mentions of Houston legends like
- 1:10:59Speaker 9: Felix Mexican Restaurant. Barely remember that. Vargo's. I remember Vargo's.
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: I went there for one of the dances I went to.
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: We went and ate at Vargo's. And then Los Alamedas,
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: you guys remember that one? Kind of. Michelangelo's, and the
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: original Spaghetti Warehouse. Michelangelo's was great because they had that
- 1:11:21Speaker 9: tree that was growing up through the middle of the restaurant.
- 1:11:23Speaker 9: Remember that? And the original Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Houston
- 1:11:27Speaker 9: was amazing because it was haunted. But they also had
- 1:11:30Speaker 9: really good spaghetti and lasagna. Now, many of the restaurants
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: referenced Michelangelo. were staples of Houston's dining scene back in
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Places tied as much to
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: the memories as the meals. Bring back Michelangelo's, if you know,
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: you know, one commenter wrote. Summing up the insider devotion
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: many of these shuttered restaurants still inspire. The response has
- 1:11:53Speaker 9: also highlighted how rapidly Houston's restaurant landscape has changed over
- 1:11:58Speaker 9: the decades and then COVID hit and only exacerbated this.
- 1:12:02Speaker 9: There's going to be a lot more to add to
- 1:12:03Speaker 9: that list. institutions that once felt permanent from Trader Vic's.
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: I don't remember that one. Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. I
- 1:12:11Speaker 9: remember that. Poncho's Mexican Buffet. Loved Poncho's. I wasn't even
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: a big fan of Mexican food back then and loved Poncho's.
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: And then Barry's Pizza now survived mostly through stories traded online. Cash,
- 1:12:26Speaker 9: do you remember Barry's Pizza?
- 1:12:29Speaker 11: Oh, didn't we go a few times?
- 1:12:31Speaker 9: I think you and I have been there on occasion
- 1:12:33Speaker 9: more than once. And that was located, what was it?
- 1:12:36Speaker 9: Was it Fountain View and Richmond Avenue, I do believe? Yes, sir.
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: Their pizza was so good. I remember their pizza was delicious.
- 1:12:46Speaker 9: The waiters and waitresses were always good. I remember a
- 1:12:49Speaker 9: really tall, hot bartender who worked there. Never talked to
- 1:12:52Speaker 9: her because I don't drink. But I just remember that,
- 1:12:56Speaker 9: but I didn't care. The pizza was so good there.
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: Do you believe we ate there a few times? You
- 1:13:01Speaker 9: remember Poncho's? Were you a Poncho's Mexican buffet guy?
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 1:13:06Speaker 11: Me and my brothers were the terror of that place.
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: Kept raising that little flag. I remember that. Loved ponchos.
- 1:13:14Speaker 9: But Barry's Pizza, boy, that brings back memories. I loved
- 1:13:17Speaker 9: Barry's Pizza. But now they just survived through stories traded online. Now,
- 1:13:22Speaker 9: that wasn't all. Many Houstonians use the opportunity to campaign
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: for restaurants they've discovered elsewhere and want to see locally.
- 1:13:30Speaker 9: Din Tai Fung emerged as a clear favorite among... current
- 1:13:33Speaker 9: chains of people that hope will expand into Houston. It
- 1:13:38Speaker 9: is an internationally acclaimed Taiwanese soup dumpling restaurant that has
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: generated multiple requests with some of the commenters already envisioning
- 1:13:45Speaker 9: ideal locations. Can we have a location in the gallery
- 1:13:49Speaker 9: or city center? Pretty please, one user wrote. We have
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: so many great Asian cuisine. If you know what I
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: go down to Bel Air, then you know you can
- 1:14:00Speaker 9: go to little Vietnam, little Chinatown over there. It's not
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: so little, and they have so many good places to
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: go eat.
- 1:14:08Speaker 11: Don't forget Katy Asian Town, man. That place is popping.
- 1:14:11Speaker 9: See, and you know what's funny is I don't know
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: exactly where that is. Where is Katy Asia Town now?
- 1:14:17Speaker 11: 99 and I-10.
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: Okay, so it's right there. I need to go there.
- 1:14:21Speaker 9: I remember they used to have that. I don't even
- 1:14:24Speaker 9: remember what it was called, but they had all those
- 1:14:26Speaker 9: little Tierra Cotta soldiers. They're the Chinese soldiers or whatever there.
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: That place got bought and redeveloped. I'm wondering that's where
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: the Asia Town developed right over there. I remember going
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: to that place, which was really cool. Anyway, the out-of-town
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: favorites range from Austin's Abba. and Dallas staples like Javier's
- 1:14:47Speaker 9: and Campisi's to cult classics like White Castle, Snarf's, never
- 1:14:53Speaker 9: heard of that one, Girodano's, and Zippy's from out of state.
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: The wish list underscored Houston's growing appetite for nationally recognized
- 1:15:01Speaker 9: restaurant brands. Now, the thing is, Houston has a ton
- 1:15:04Speaker 9: of good restaurants, a ton of great places. We're known
- 1:15:08Speaker 9: for our dining scene to go out and eat. In fact,
- 1:15:10Speaker 9: we've been recognized multiple times nationally. you know, buy it,
- 1:15:14Speaker 9: but there's still these places where people can go. There
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: were also responses from people saying they would like a
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: more diverse, you know, food options. Trinidadian and Haitian food, eh.
- 1:15:27Speaker 9: Authentic northern New Mexico cuisine. People don't realize most of
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: the Mexican food in Texas is Tex-Mex. It's not typical Tex-Mex.
- 1:15:35Speaker 9: Ceviche-focused concept. I like ceviche. It's good. Boston-style Italian eateries
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: and California-style Mexican food all came up in the discussion.
- 1:15:46Speaker 9: So people wanting those sort of things. Once again, we
- 1:15:49Speaker 9: have such a sprawling geography. suburban evolution here that we've
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: had a lot of restaurants. One commenter requested In-N-Out Burger.
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: Only be corrected that we actually have a few In-N-Out
- 1:16:00Speaker 9: Burger locations here. I've been there a couple of times.
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: Not a big fan. I guess I'm more, I mean,
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: not that I disliked it. It was okay. But I'm
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: more of a Whataburger guy, born and raised in Texas.
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: So there you go. So there's a lot of different
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: places that What would be your places that you would
- 1:16:18Speaker 9: want to see come back? First and foremost, Barry's Pizza.
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: I want Barry's Pizza back. Ponchos could come back. Wouldn't
- 1:16:26Speaker 9: have a problem with that. Would love Farrell's Ice Cream
- 1:16:28Speaker 9: Parlor to come back. But there's a lot of places
- 1:16:32Speaker 9: I would love. But Barry's Pizza at the top of
- 1:16:35Speaker 9: the list. Cash, are you with me on that one?
- 1:16:36Speaker 9: You would like to see a revival of Barry's Pizza?
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:16:40Speaker 11: And I would throw in Fazoli's.
- 1:16:42Speaker 9: Oh, my God. Fazoli's. I loved Fazoli's. Man, God rest
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: his soul, the Drews man. He and I went there many,
- 1:16:49Speaker 9: many times. Loved Fazoli's. Okay, bring back Fazoli's and Barry's Pizza,
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: and we'll call it even. I'm good with that. All right,
- 1:16:57Speaker 9: what would you like to see come back? 281-558-KSEV, 281-558-5738.

- 1:19:05Speaker 19: Protecting our families and our community is important to me,
- 1:19:08Speaker 19: That's why I passed a tough new law protecting children

- 1:20:18Speaker 16: Huzzah!
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: And now back to Chris X radio on the voice
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: of Texas.
- 1:20:37Speaker 9: Messages, people calling in ponchos in humble, which is the
- 1:20:41Speaker 9: one that I used to go to. Apparently it's still open.
- 1:20:44Speaker 14: What?
- 1:20:46Speaker 9: So ponchos gone from all the other locations still survives
- 1:20:49Speaker 9: in humble. Are you kidding me? Okay. I guess we
- 1:20:54Speaker 9: need to do a Chris X radio event at ponchos, huh?
- 1:20:57Speaker 9: That would freak them out. Have a bunch of our
- 1:21:00Speaker 9: listeners show up. We want food. You know, we've had
- 1:21:05Speaker 9: the pizza parties we did here. What right before Trump
- 1:21:07Speaker 9: was reelected. And I do think we deserve 100% credit
- 1:21:10Speaker 9: for that happening, but we had the pizza parties. Our
- 1:21:12Speaker 9: listeners can put away some food. Okay. Just to give
- 1:21:16Speaker 9: you a basic idea, our listeners put away well over $ 1, 500
- 1:21:21Speaker 9: worth of pizza in just less than two hours. Cash,
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: did you ever attend? I do believe you attended at
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: least one of the pizza parties.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:31Speaker 11: I was the weirdo that didn't talk to anybody, just
- 1:21:33Speaker 11: ate pizza.
- 1:21:34Speaker 27: Maybe $ 1, 200 worth.
- 1:21:34Speaker 11: So Cash ate $ 1, 200 all on his own. That's pretty good.
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: Anywho, okay, I'm blown away. that Poncho's is still open.
- 1:21:47Speaker 9: I can't believe it. That is the one, the one
- 1:21:50Speaker 9: in Humble is the one we used to go to.
- 1:21:51Speaker 9: I was raised in Kingwood area and we used to
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: go to the one in Humble. I may have to
- 1:21:54Speaker 9: go there and eat. I may, I'll get to go.
- 1:21:57Speaker 9: Of course, I always scout it just like I did.
- 1:22:00Speaker 9: What was the Tony's New York style pizzeria? I went
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: and scouted it out before we had our pizza parties there,
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: which by the way is a great place for the
- 1:22:09Speaker 9: pizza parties. They just kept changing the times on us,
- 1:22:12Speaker 9: made it more difficult and, I do a pizza party.
- 1:22:15Speaker 9: It'll probably be from 4 to 6 on Fridays. And
- 1:22:19Speaker 9: we wanted to listen to the Amigos, but it was
- 1:22:21Speaker 9: too loud, too many people, so we couldn't really listen
- 1:22:24Speaker 9: to the Amigos. But everybody had a great time. We
- 1:22:25Speaker 9: gave away T-shirts. I gave away guitars, mugs, cool things.
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: We gave away knives. God rest his soul. We lost Glenn,
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: Glenn Mitchell. He was at Lone Star Knives. He passed away. But, man,
- 1:22:40Speaker 9: that guy made cool knives. In fact, I use them
- 1:22:41Speaker 9: every time I go up to the hill country. It's
- 1:22:45Speaker 9: funny because he gave me one, which I could have
- 1:22:48Speaker 9: just stayed with it, but I decided to go back
- 1:22:50Speaker 9: and get a knife from him. He gave me one
- 1:22:54Speaker 9: really big one for hog hunting, and I have yet
- 1:22:57Speaker 9: to use it. But I went and bought a smaller
- 1:23:00Speaker 9: little Trump knife that he did, one with just a
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: MAGA knife with a little Trump thing on it, and
- 1:23:04Speaker 9: it was smaller. I'm like, okay, I like the smaller one.
- 1:23:06Speaker 9: But they're sharp as hell. Man, he did great work.
- 1:23:09Speaker 9: Sad that he's gone. But like I said, people really
- 1:23:13Speaker 9: like those knives. We gave away knives at every event.
- 1:23:16Speaker 9: They're a lot of fun. So at some point we
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: may try to bring back a pizza party. We'll see.
- 1:23:20Speaker 9: Not enough time between now and the midterms, but maybe
- 1:23:24Speaker 9: we'll do it for 2028 when Trump runs for his
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: third term. What? No, come on. All right, tell you what,
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: let's go and try to get a few phone calls
- 1:23:32Speaker 9: here as we go. You guys miss any places? Barry's Pizza.
- 1:23:37Speaker 9: If there's a Barry's Pizza somewhere, you guys better let
- 1:23:39Speaker 9: me know. I know it's not in the old location
- 1:23:42Speaker 9: there at Hillcrop.
- 1:23:43Speaker 31: No.
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: Fountain View and Richmond, I do believe. I think that's
- 1:23:48Speaker 9: right over there. Well, which I don't know exactly where
- 1:23:50Speaker 9: his office is, but Wayne E.D. 's office is right
- 1:23:53Speaker 9: over there somewhere. I bet Wayne E.D. knows where the
- 1:23:57Speaker 9: good food is. I imagine he just does. All right,
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: phone lines are full, but when someone drops off, 281-558-KCB.
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: Let's go right to the phones. Pick up with Mark
- 1:24:06Speaker 9: listening in Cyprus. Mark, thank you for hanging on. Welcome
- 1:24:08Speaker 9: to Chris X Radio.
- 1:24:11Speaker 38: Dang, Chris, you said Broadway.
- 1:24:12Speaker 24: I didn't think you'd get to me this quick.
- 1:24:15Speaker 9: Well, we did, and you got in, so I went
- 1:24:18Speaker 9: to you first because, well, C-Safe Broadway.
- 1:24:22Speaker 10: Hey, everybody.
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: Hey, man.
- 1:24:23Speaker 38: No, y'all are hitting all the right buttons, man. I
- 1:24:27Speaker 38: worked at Staken El and Conroe when I was in
- 1:24:29Speaker 38: high school. Great restaurant, wingback chairs, kind of brings you
- 1:24:33Speaker 38: back to like a five-time first-mind high where you're like
- 1:24:36Speaker 38: fancy dining, even though one fancy dining. The only thing
- 1:24:39Speaker 38: I worry about staking out nowadays is that don't charge
- 1:24:42Speaker 38: me the Fleming steakhouse price.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: Imagine it would be a lot more expensive today than
- 1:24:48Speaker 9: back then.
- 1:24:49Speaker 38: Yeah, but I mean, I was part of, I worked
- 1:24:52Speaker 38: with another guy. We're the ones that set up the
- 1:24:53Speaker 38: great salad bar. They had the great bar in their
- 1:24:57Speaker 38: area that you could smoke in there. They had to
- 1:24:59Speaker 38: sit down, Pac-Man and Galaga machines. You could do it
- 1:25:03Speaker 38: in the bar. I mean, you know, it was just
- 1:25:06Speaker 38: good old times right there. I mean, you could sit
- 1:25:07Speaker 38: in the bar and, you know, that's where people came
- 1:25:11Speaker 38: to cheat on the other ones.
- 1:25:12Speaker 10: So, I mean, it was a.
- 1:25:13Speaker 38: Great place to hang out. And you could eat with
- 1:25:15Speaker 38: a family in the Steakhouse restaurant.
- 1:25:18Speaker 30: And it was good.
- 1:25:19Speaker 38: It was a good restaurant. Ran good. But I do
- 1:25:24Speaker 38: miss my Bennigans. I miss my Bennigans.
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: I miss Bennigans as well.
- 1:25:29Speaker 38: And I know they tried to open one up on Westheimer,
- 1:25:32Speaker 38: and it was just bad management. They had to close
- 1:25:35Speaker 38: it down. But they did try to open a Bennegan's
- 1:25:36Speaker 38: back up about 10 years ago. Another one from my
- 1:25:41Speaker 38: childhood is Bonanza.
- 1:25:44Speaker 9: Oh, I forgot about there was a Bonanza in Humble.
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: We used to go there. Forgot about Bonanza.
- 1:25:48Speaker 37: Yeah.
- 1:25:49Speaker 38: Yeah, my grandparents loved that Bonanza. I think it's cafeteria
- 1:25:52Speaker 38: style because I went there as a young kid with
- 1:25:54Speaker 38: my grandparents because they lived– my dad grew up in
- 1:25:57Speaker 38: North Houston, went to St.
- 1:25:58Speaker 24: Houston High School.
- 1:25:59Speaker 38: And then one right there on the Shepard track where
- 1:26:01Speaker 38: Shepard pulls into 45 now strip club. So I'm thinking,
- 1:26:06Speaker 38: you know, maybe do Bonanza with a strip club, man.
- 1:26:09Speaker 24: You might have some going there, you know.
- 1:26:12Speaker 9: So that would be a bad idea surprise me that
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: mark and cypress would like that idea you know it's
- 1:26:17Speaker 9: funny you mentioned bennegan's and i know it's been more
- 1:26:19Speaker 9: than 12 years i'm sorry it's been at least 12
- 1:26:23Speaker 9: years since that bennegan's they tried to open on westheimer
- 1:26:26Speaker 9: because we went there a few times reminds me of
- 1:26:28Speaker 9: an interesting story thanks for the call mark i appreciate
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: it uh really good and bonanza bonanza i only went
- 1:26:34Speaker 9: there a few times it's kind of like a precursor
- 1:26:36Speaker 9: to uh What's it called? Sizzler now, I guess. Similar,
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: but not really. It was way better. But Bonanza, remember that?
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: But the Bennigan's, I used to go to the Bennigan's
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: in Humble. That was where I first had the fried mozzarella.
- 1:26:49Speaker 9: I was like, oh my God, this is great. I
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: love Bennigan's. So Bennigan's was good, but I'll never forget
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: this story. I do believe One Cash Money was there
- 1:26:57Speaker 9: with us. Do you remember going to that location over
- 1:26:59Speaker 9: there on Westheimer Cash, you and I and a certain
- 1:27:02Speaker 9: other socialist?
- 1:27:05Speaker 11: To a Bennigan's?
- 1:27:07Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:27:08Speaker 11: Mmm, I think so.
- 1:27:10Speaker 9: We did. They opened a new Bennigan's on Westheimer. You
- 1:27:15Speaker 9: and I and a socialist went. I do believe there
- 1:27:17Speaker 9: may have been one other person that went with us,
- 1:27:19Speaker 9: but it was a guy that I used to... I'll
- 1:27:21Speaker 9: just give his first name. He went by Doug, and
- 1:27:24Speaker 9: he was a self-declared Democrat socialist. We had lunch. It
- 1:27:28Speaker 9: was okay, but it wasn't as good as the old Bennigan's,
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: so I didn't have big hope for it. But when
- 1:27:32Speaker 9: we were done, we all got our tickets individually and
- 1:27:34Speaker 9: signed them or whatever, and we're getting ready to leave.
- 1:27:36Speaker 9: And Doug was sitting there just, man... He was calculating, man.
- 1:27:39Speaker 9: I was like, Doug, what are you doing? He's like,
- 1:27:42Speaker 9: I'm calculating the tip to the penny. And I was like, Doug,
- 1:27:47Speaker 9: you're a self-described socialist. You're a Democrat. Spread the wealth
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: a little bit. These people get paid a dollar an hour.
- 1:27:54Speaker 9: And his response was, I'm a true socialist. I believe
- 1:27:57Speaker 9: in sharing other people's money, not mine. That actually happened.
- 1:28:06Speaker 9: That's a real story. And we all laughed. I was hilarious.
- 1:28:10Speaker 9: I don't know if Cash remembers that. I will never
- 1:28:12Speaker 9: forget it. And I hope Doug's doing well. He was
- 1:28:17Speaker 9: a nice socialist. We used to debate politics all the time.
- 1:28:20Speaker 9: Hope he's doing great. But he gave us a true
- 1:28:22Speaker 9: insight into socialism. And I don't know if he said
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: that just being funny or if he was saying that
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: because he was in the middle of actually calculating the
- 1:28:31Speaker 9: tip down to the penny. true socialist anyhow we're way
- 1:28:38Speaker 9: over let's take a break we'll come back we got
- 1:28:39Speaker 9: Dave in Spring, Rusty in North Houston. We got one
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: open line now if you want to get in, I
- 1:28:44Speaker 9: do believe. 281-558-KSEV. You guys, is there any restaurants that
- 1:28:50Speaker 9: you'd like to see come back? I would love for
- 1:28:52Speaker 9: Bennigan's to come back. Barry's Pizza, hands down for me.
- 1:28:57Speaker 9: There apparently is still a Poncho's Mexican Buffet in Humboldt.
- 1:29:03Speaker 9: Should I go there for dinner tonight? That's the Poncho's
- 1:29:07Speaker 9: I went to as a child. I have no idea
- 1:29:10Speaker 9: what they would have these days. I have to go there.
- 1:29:13Speaker 9: I haven't been there in, I haven't been to that
- 1:29:15Speaker 9: place in 30 years. All right, 281-558-KSEV. You're listening to
- 1:29:21Speaker 9: Chris X Radio. We'll be right back.
- 1:29:23Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: Chris X Radio, Texas born, Texas raised. The Voice of Texas.
- 1:29:32Speaker 22: Don't miss the Three Amigos show Fridays at 4 p.m.
- 1:29:35Speaker 22: for your chance to get VIP treatment at the 42nd
- 1:29:37Speaker 22: Annual Wings Over Houston Air Show. The Amigos will give
- 1:29:40Speaker 22: away two family chalet four-packs and a pair of Eagle
- 1:29:43Speaker 22: Squadron tickets to three lucky listeners between October 2nd and
- 1:29:46Speaker 22: October 16th on AM700 KSCV.
- 1:29:51Speaker 12: As a Texan, you deserve your court system to deliver
- 1:29:54Speaker 12: justice that is fair, understandable and within reach. Chief Justice
- 1:29:59Speaker 12: Jimmy Blacklock says that starts with judges applying the law
- 1:30:02Speaker 12: as written, so the rules don't change depending on who
- 1:30:04Speaker 12: walks into the courtroom. But fairness also means a court
- 1:30:08Speaker 12: system that works for the people it serves. Blacklock has
- 1:30:11Speaker 12: called for reducing unnecessary delays and expenses, simplifying court procedures
- 1:30:16Speaker 12: and making legal services more affordable. because a case should
- 1:30:19Speaker 12: be decided on the facts and the law, not on
- 1:30:22Speaker 12: who can afford the longest fight. Texas courts belong to
- 1:30:26Speaker 12: the people. That means judges should be accountable, rules should
- 1:30:29Speaker 12: be clear, and the system should be accessible to those
- 1:30:32Speaker 12: who rely on it. For Blacklock, equal justice means more
- 1:30:36Speaker 12: than a principle. It means a court system Texans can understand, trust,
- 1:30:40Speaker 12: and afford to use. Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock.
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: Clear rules.
- 1:30:44Speaker 12: Accountable courts. Equal justice under law.

- 1:32:45Speaker 16: Fake news hates us.
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: Fake news hates us.
- 1:32:48Speaker 7: Chris X Radio.
- 1:32:50Speaker 9: Chris X Radio. I heard another rumor. The missing Tallarico,
- 1:33:04Speaker 9: nobody knows where he's been for like 12 days now.
- 1:33:08Speaker 9: That he actually went to the ponchos in Humble and ate. And, well...
- 1:33:14Speaker 9: He's been in the bathroom ever since. I love how Trump,
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: you know, goes after him about being a vegan and
- 1:33:20Speaker 9: says he started eating beef. He started eating meat and
- 1:33:23Speaker 9: started throwing up all over the place. You guys remember
- 1:33:27Speaker 9: the guy actually ran a vegan campaign, right? When he
- 1:33:30Speaker 9: was running. So to get reelected, he ran a campaign,
- 1:33:34Speaker 9: and meat was an existential threat. I like how meat
- 1:33:37Speaker 9: went from being an existential threat to now I'm running
- 1:33:40Speaker 9: a campaign powered on Texas barbecue. He did a complete
- 1:33:43Speaker 9: 180 on it, and no one on the left even cares.
- 1:33:46Speaker 9: No one even cares. So ridiculous. Trump was pretty good
- 1:33:53Speaker 9: about it, though. Trump had a pretty interesting statement about
- 1:33:55Speaker 9: him being vegan.
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: So this terrible fake, and he is a fake, he
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: said all of a sudden, he's a vegan.
- 1:34:04Speaker 16: You know, my wife.
- 1:34:05Speaker 17: Told me, sir, you have to do me just a
- 1:34:07Speaker 17: little bit of a favor.
- 1:34:09Speaker 16: It's not vegan, it's vegan. I don't know about that stuff.
- 1:34:12Speaker 16: I'm not into it. And he said, it's vegan. Please
- 1:34:15Speaker 16: pronounce that word properly. I called it vegan, vegan.
- 1:34:18Speaker 17: I thought, how the hell would I know?
- 1:34:20Speaker 7: I like steak.
- 1:34:24Speaker 9: How the hell would I know I like steak speaking
- 1:34:29Speaker 9: of steak once again so far the number one restaurant
- 1:34:32Speaker 9: that apparently people want back in Houston is steak and
- 1:34:35Speaker 9: ale everybody wants steak and ale back but then there
- 1:34:38Speaker 9: was a few others people came back institutions like Trader
- 1:34:42Speaker 9: Vic's which is funny because it What's the other one called?
- 1:34:45Speaker 9: Trader Joe's. But Trader Vic's, I don't remember that one.
- 1:34:48Speaker 9: Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. Oh, I liked Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor.
- 1:34:52Speaker 9: I missed that. Poncho's Mexican Buffet, which they say, like
- 1:34:56Speaker 9: I said, they used to be all over town. Now
- 1:34:57Speaker 9: there's one apparently in Humble. It's still there. That is
- 1:35:01Speaker 9: the one that I went to probably 45 years ago.
- 1:35:04Speaker 18: Wow.
- 1:35:06Speaker 9: And then Barry's Pizza, which I loved Barry's Pizza. It
- 1:35:09Speaker 9: was over there at Fountain View in Chicago. Found you
- 1:35:13Speaker 9: in Richmond, I believe, Richmond Avenue. What restaurants would you
- 1:35:17Speaker 9: like back? Okay, the phone lines are full. We're going
- 1:35:18Speaker 9: to go to the phones. As you hear somebody drop off,
- 1:35:20Speaker 9: you'll be able to get in at 281-558-KSEV. Is there
- 1:35:24Speaker 9: any restaurants that you would like to have back? Let's
- 1:35:27Speaker 9: go to the phones. 281-558-KSEV. Let's go to David listening
- 1:35:30Speaker 9: in Spring. David, thanks for hanging on. Welcome to Chris
- 1:35:33Speaker 9: X Radio.
- 1:35:34Speaker 10: Thanks, Chris.
- 1:35:36Speaker 8: You want to go to Poncho's, and you have no
- 1:35:38Speaker 8: idea what they have there. Come on, man. You know
- 1:35:40Speaker 8: what they have there. They got the chile rellenos. They
- 1:35:43Speaker 8: got the cheese enchiladas. They got the crispy tacos. And
- 1:35:47Speaker 8: for dessert, they got the sopapillas. And you can raise
- 1:35:49Speaker 8: the flag and get as much as you want. You
- 1:35:51Speaker 8: know it's going to be like that. It's nostalgia 100%.
- 1:35:53Speaker 8: Hold on one second. I got the police scanner my
- 1:35:59Speaker 8: other ear. Oh, dang it.
- 1:36:01Speaker 31: Okay.
- 1:36:04Speaker 30: Okay.
- 1:36:06Speaker 8: It looks like you might have 30 minutes to an
- 1:36:08Speaker 8: hour to enjoy the, uh, ponchos experience in Humboldt that, yeah,
- 1:36:13Speaker 8: it looks like ice is headed there now to shut
- 1:36:16Speaker 8: the place down. They thought all the ponchos were shut
- 1:36:18Speaker 8: down already. Uh, but I don't know, maybe this radio state,
- 1:36:22Speaker 8: maybe a listener gave a tip to ice, but, uh,
- 1:36:26Speaker 8: but yeah, so, uh, listeners, if, if you want to
- 1:36:28Speaker 8: work at ponchos, it looks like there's going to be
- 1:36:31Speaker 8: some openings there. Uh, please let's keep the establishment open.
- 1:36:35Speaker 10: Um, That's a shame.
- 1:36:36Speaker 8: That's a shame, Chris.
- 1:36:37Speaker 10: I'm sorry.
- 1:36:39Speaker 9: Thanks. Thanks for the call, David. Started out strong. Yeah,
- 1:36:42Speaker 9: you're right. As you were mentioning the food they have there,
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: I was remembering from 45 years ago, last time I
- 1:36:48Speaker 9: went to a ponchos at the one. And then you
- 1:36:50Speaker 9: had to go turn it into something partisan. You guys
- 1:36:54Speaker 9: can't help yourselves. I know it's all right. But that,
- 1:36:59Speaker 9: you know, you'd say it is true though. I mean,
- 1:37:01Speaker 9: I imagine there may be some people of Hispanic descent
- 1:37:04Speaker 9: working there. I'm pretty sure no one from our station
- 1:37:08Speaker 9: is calling ICE to go hit. You know, last time
- 1:37:11Speaker 9: I checked, ICE wasn't hitting a whole lot of restaurants
- 1:37:13Speaker 9: and a whole lot of places. They were hitting more
- 1:37:15Speaker 9: of the ones where people are committing crimes. Yeah, I
- 1:37:19Speaker 9: know David would hate that. You don't want criminals taken
- 1:37:21Speaker 9: out of our country. We don't want that. All right,
- 1:37:23Speaker 9: let's go to 281558KSV if you want to join us.
- 1:37:28Speaker 9: Any old restaurants that you remember that you'd like brought
- 1:37:30Speaker 9: back to Houston? Vargo's, I like Vargo's. Michelangelo's I'd love
- 1:37:35Speaker 9: to have back. It was Italian food, and they have
- 1:37:37Speaker 9: the tree growing right in the middle of the restaurant.
- 1:37:40Speaker 9: I remember I went there a couple of times, and
- 1:37:42Speaker 9: one time literally sat right next to the tree. It
- 1:37:44Speaker 9: was very cool. I was like, this is interesting. We
- 1:37:47Speaker 9: get to sit right next to a tree indoors while
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: eating food. That was kind of awesome. So anyway, all right,
- 1:37:53Speaker 9: let's go back to the phones. 281-558-KSEB. Let's go to
- 1:37:56Speaker 9: Rusty listening in Northwest Houston. Rusty, thank you for hanging on.
- 1:37:59Speaker 9: Welcome to Chris X Radio.
- 1:38:02Speaker 8: Yes, sir.
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: Chris, how are you doing, my friend? It's been a while.
- 1:38:07Speaker 9: It has been a while. I'm doing well. How are
- 1:38:08Speaker 9: you doing, Rusty?
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: I'm doing good. Like I was telling you before, I'm
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: into cooking and watching cable TV. Cable news. I say,
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: you know, and it's, you know, contrary to podcast, I say,
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: and let me talk, I'll talk about the magic of
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: talk right here in a second. It's best to listen
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: to all the cable news off and on all day long.
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: And if you go to a particular podcast, you get
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: the news that you want to hear. But like they
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: said in 69, 70, open your mind. But I think
- 1:38:52Speaker 5: the derangement syndrome is wearing out, and Republicans are one
- 1:39:01Speaker 5: by one kind of backing away from our El Presidente.
- 1:39:07Speaker 9: Well, that didn't seem to be the case in San
- 1:39:08Speaker 9: Antonio last night. It was packed house up at whatever
- 1:39:12Speaker 9: center they had their event at. But you know what,
- 1:39:15Speaker 9: like I said, we're in an election season. I'm sorry,
- 1:39:19Speaker 9: go ahead.
- 1:39:20Speaker 5: How much is going to be the spread? Let's see,
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: was that Beto that got against Cruz? He was, what,
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: three and a half points?
- 1:39:33Speaker 9: He lost about three and a half percent. I don't know.
- 1:39:37Speaker 9: There's a lot of negative. Once again, you know, the
- 1:39:38Speaker 9: power of the team in charge. Historically speaking, the Democrats
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: should wipe out the Republicans. But unfortunately, it ain't the
- 1:39:47Speaker 9: Democrat Party from the 1969-70 era. So it's a little
- 1:39:50Speaker 9: bit different party. So I don't know how this is
- 1:39:52Speaker 9: going to play out. But and Trump is not on
- 1:39:54Speaker 9: the ballot. So there's that. So we'll have to wait
- 1:39:57Speaker 9: and kind of see what what ends up playing out.
- 1:39:59Speaker 9: But I don't know.
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: I mean, are you looking for a talent?
- 1:40:02Speaker 9: Are you rooting for a Tallarico win? Is that who
- 1:40:04Speaker 9: you want to win here in Texas?
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: Well, I think the Democrats are coming back. I mean,
- 1:40:12Speaker 5: the old Democrats, you know, are just kind of shifting
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: back to the blue, you know, because it's going to
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: be an anti-Trump vote. Like I say, I think the
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: derangement syndrome is wearing off, and they're suddenly becoming Republicans again,
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:40:30Speaker 9: But let's talk— I don't know if it's wearing off.
- 1:40:33Speaker 9: I'll say this. There's clearly plenty of TDS out there
- 1:40:36Speaker 9: right now. As far as the election is concerned, those
- 1:40:39Speaker 9: who are locked in on the Democrat Party and those
- 1:40:41Speaker 9: who are locked in on the Republican Party, they're locked
- 1:40:44Speaker 9: and don't even factor into the equation right now. Everybody's
- 1:40:46Speaker 9: measuring the independents, the undecideds and the low information voters.
- 1:40:50Speaker 9: and that's who's going to shift because all of these
- 1:40:52Speaker 9: polls seem to be, you know, right, you know, neck
- 1:40:54Speaker 9: and neck, which, by the way, the polls have been
- 1:40:56Speaker 9: wildly wrong up to this point in the primaries. So
- 1:41:00Speaker 9: it's going to be interesting to see how it all
- 1:41:02Speaker 9: plays out.
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody's kind of anxious, I think.
- 1:41:06Speaker 9: Yes, 100%.
- 1:41:07Speaker 5: Where do you think Tallarico's been.
- 1:41:10Speaker 9: For the last 12 days? Where did he go? You
- 1:41:12Speaker 9: think he's got the flu?
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: Oh, I got a joke for that, you know, but
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: I talked to him and, you know, where he said
- 1:41:19Speaker 5: he was. You with your mama? That's the best you.
- 1:41:24Speaker 9: Got, Rusty.
- 1:41:25Speaker 5: Come on.
- 1:41:26Speaker 9: That was funny back in 1971. Right.
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: But the magic of talk radio, I was going to
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: tell Craig in the morning, you know, colonnade is not
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: mayonnaise now.
- 1:41:41Speaker 9: What?
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: You were going to tell him what?
- 1:41:46Speaker 31: Well, oh, the.
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: And I got this from your show, you know, it
- 1:41:50Speaker 5: said the magic of talk radio over a podcast, you know,
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: is live callers that come in and give you trouble.
- 1:41:59Speaker 9: Yeah, that's what it's all about.
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: I was going to tell him that, but I thought
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: I thought he cut me off. I thought he screamed
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: me and then dropped me because I had a bad line.
- 1:42:11Speaker 12: But.
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: Y'all's podcasts are good you can still go to podcasts
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: just to listen to yourself if you made any crazy
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: mistakes you know alright.
- 1:42:22Speaker 9: Before I let you go though I gotta know is
- 1:42:24Speaker 9: there any restaurants any old school restaurants you used to
- 1:42:27Speaker 9: go to that you'd like to have back in Houston.
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: You know what I don't spend the money on that
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: I was looking at steaks just a minute ago and
- 1:42:38Speaker 5: I mean it was like in Walmart it was like
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: 45 bucks for, you know, a couple of, you know,
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: nice looking steaks, but that's expensive these days. Imagine going
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: out to a chain store.
- 1:42:54Speaker 9: Yeah, you go to a restaurant. Thanks for the call, Rusty.
- 1:42:56Speaker 9: Good to hear from you. Glad to hear you're doing well. Yeah,
- 1:42:58Speaker 9: you're right. That 9% inflation we got and the rising
- 1:43:02Speaker 9: cost of things that happened during those Biden years really hit,
- 1:43:06Speaker 9: and Trump has not been able to get them all
- 1:43:07Speaker 9: down yet. Generally, it never happens. Very seldom do you
- 1:43:13Speaker 9: see things come back down to where they once were,
- 1:43:15Speaker 9: other than You know, the rising and lowering gas prices,
- 1:43:18Speaker 9: that happens all the time. But as far as the
- 1:43:20Speaker 9: overall cost of.
- 1:43:21Speaker 7: Things, no.
- 1:43:23Speaker 9: So I just can't even imagine turning things back over
- 1:43:26Speaker 9: to the same party that drove those costs up to
- 1:43:28Speaker 9: make it to where even poor Rusty can't afford steaks
- 1:43:31Speaker 9: at the grocery store. So I'm lucky that I'm not
- 1:43:34Speaker 9: a big steak eater. I like steak, and I'll have
- 1:43:36Speaker 9: it every now and then. By the way, in my opinion,
- 1:43:38Speaker 9: the best inexpensive steaks, which it's not even inexpensive, but
- 1:43:42Speaker 9: compared to steakhouses, is hands down the Texas Roadhouse. Their
- 1:43:47Speaker 9: steaks are good. And I know I wouldn't be technically
- 1:43:51Speaker 9: a steak connoisseur, but I can go there and eat steak.
- 1:43:54Speaker 9: Because like I said, I like steak every now and then.
- 1:43:57Speaker 9: But I can eat a steak there for a reasonable
- 1:43:58Speaker 9: price considering I love, I haven't been in a long time.
- 1:44:02Speaker 9: In fact, I'm overdue. I need to go soon back
- 1:44:04Speaker 9: to Taste of Texas. Now, like I said, Ed Hendy's restaurant,
- 1:44:08Speaker 9: that place is fantastic. I could literally go there and
- 1:44:11Speaker 9: just eat the salad bar. So their salad bar is incredible.
- 1:44:14Speaker 9: All right, let's take a short break. We'll come back.
- 1:44:16Speaker 9: We got Kelly and Wes Chase. You're up next. And
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: then Don and Point Blake, you guys hold on. We'll
- 1:44:20Speaker 9: come back, wrap up with you on the other side.
- 1:44:22Speaker 9: You're listening to Chris X Radio. Don't you go anywhere.
- 1:44:24Speaker 9: This is the magic of talk radio where we can
- 1:44:28Speaker 9: take callers. Yeah, I don't subscribe to the podcast method.
- 1:44:31Speaker 9: I actually like this about local live radio where we
- 1:44:36Speaker 9: can engage. We don't have to agree on everything, as
- 1:44:38Speaker 9: you clearly have heard on this program. But I think
- 1:44:42Speaker 9: all of us can agree that we'd like Barry's Pizza Back.
- 1:44:44Speaker 9: At least, that's what I'm thinking.
- 1:44:46Speaker 11: And more ponchos.
- 1:44:48Speaker 9: And definitely more ponchos. I may go there for dinner.
- 1:44:52Speaker 9: I don't know. Man, David, boy, when he listed off
- 1:44:55Speaker 9: the menu, I mean, he started giving me feelings of nostalgia.
- 1:44:59Speaker 9: He mentioned, yeah, go for some ponchos. Cash, next time
- 1:45:04Speaker 9: we do dinner, maybe we'll go to ponchos. Easy choice.
- 1:45:10Speaker 9: All right, let's take a short break. We'll come back
- 1:45:13Speaker 9: and wrap up today's show on the other side. Kelly
- 1:45:15Speaker 9: and Wes Stace, hold on. You're up next.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Chris X Radio.
- 1:45:25Speaker 22: Tune in to the Ray Massey Reverse Mortgage Show each
- 1:45:28Speaker 22: Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m. with
- 1:45:30Speaker 22: Trayvon Mortgage.
- 1:45:31Speaker 9: Or call Ray directly at 855-266-1600. Or online at Reverse Mortgages,
- 1:45:34Speaker 9: the number 4, texans.com.
- 1:45:42Speaker 10: All rise.
- 1:45:43Speaker 36: The state of Texas versus Juan and Mary Sanchez. The charge,
- 1:45:48Speaker 36: child abuse for refusing to recognize their son as a girl.
- 1:45:52Speaker 33: Sounds insane, right? Well, Gina Hinojosa supports the radical policy
- 1:45:57Speaker 33: of taxpayers paying for sex change surgery for kids and
- 1:46:01Speaker 33: the assault on parental rights. And Hinojosa believes schools should
- 1:46:05Speaker 33: be able to transition children behind their parents' backs. But
- 1:46:09Speaker 33: that's just the beginning. Gina Hinojosa supports allowing boys and
- 1:46:13Speaker 33: girls sports and in their locker rooms. It's gross, unfair
- 1:46:17Speaker 33: and harmful to girls. And what does Gina Hinojosa say
- 1:46:20Speaker 33: about it?
- 1:46:21Speaker 12: Listen to this.
- 1:46:23Speaker 21: I really don't understand how girls would be hurt by this.
- 1:46:25Speaker 17: A threat to our little girls that doesn't exist.
- 1:46:29Speaker 33: Gina Hinojosa, radical, dangerous. We cannot allow her to become
- 1:46:35Speaker 33: governor of Texas.
- 1:46:36Speaker 9: Political ad paid for by Texans for Greg Abbott.
- 1:46:40Speaker 23: Do you need money? Want to lower your monthly debt?
- 1:46:43Speaker 23: Are you thinking about a cash-out refinance? Hi, it's Kathy
- 1:46:47Speaker 23: from Baker Mortgage. A cash-out refinance can get you back
- 1:46:50Speaker 23: in your comfort zone, and that's what it's all about.
- 1:46:53Speaker 23: A recent client who closed with us had his payment
- 1:46:56Speaker 23: go up about $ 300, but his monthly outgo was being
- 1:47:00Speaker 23: reduced by $ 1, 200, so giving him a net positive cash
- 1:47:04Speaker 23: flow of $ 900. It's not about adding debt, but restructuring
- 1:47:08Speaker 23: it in a way that makes sense. And this math
- 1:47:10Speaker 23: totally makes sense. And please don't sweat it if your
- 1:47:14Speaker 23: interest rate is going up a little or if you're
- 1:47:16Speaker 23: extending the term. I can show you by taking a
- 1:47:19Speaker 23: small amount of what you're saving monthly and applying it
- 1:47:22Speaker 23: towards your mortgage, you're going to pay it off just
- 1:47:24Speaker 23: as quickly and you'll be way ahead in the money game,
- 1:47:27Speaker 23: which is where we all want to be, right? Remember,
- 1:47:30Speaker 23: we want to help you. But we're not going to.
- 1:47:32Speaker 9: Help you over a cliff.
- 1:47:33Speaker 23: Baker Mortgage, 281-313-MOVE or go directly to bakermortgage.com.
- 1:47:38Speaker 15: Equal Housing Lender, license number 263213.
- 1:47:41Speaker 35: Hi, I'm Tommy Mello, CEO of Garage Door Doctor. If
- 1:47:46Speaker 35: there's just one piece of advice I could give every homeowner,
- 1:47:49Speaker 35: it's this. If your garage door spring breaks, don't try
- 1:47:52Speaker 35: to fix it. When they fail, they can be dangerous
- 1:47:55Speaker 35: without the right tools and the right training.
- 1:47:57Speaker 9: When it comes to springs, leave it to the professionals.
- 1:48:00Speaker 35: Save $ 100 on a new spring replacement today.
- 1:48:02Speaker 29: When it comes to garage stores, no one knows more
- 1:48:06Speaker 29: than the doctor.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: Garage Store Doctor.
- 1:48:11Speaker 27: The best in financial talk and more. Money Matters, every
- 1:48:15Speaker 27: Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. till noon, here on
- 1:48:18Speaker 27: AM700 KSCV and Streetlight. online at kscvradio.com.
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: And now, back to Chris X Radio.
- 1:48:26Speaker 9: Chris X Radio.
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: On the voice of Texas.
- 1:48:38Speaker 9: You do need a remedy for some of these restaurants
- 1:48:40Speaker 9: that we don't have anymore in Houston. I'd like to
- 1:48:44Speaker 9: bring them back. I'd love to see Barry's Pizza come back,
- 1:48:48Speaker 9: maybe Bennigan's, Vargo's. Didn't go there very often, but went
- 1:48:54Speaker 9: a few times. Michelangelo's would be great. Apparently, there's still
- 1:48:58Speaker 9: a Pancho's Mexican Buffet. They're not an advertiser, but there's
- 1:49:01Speaker 9: one still located in Humble, the one that I went
- 1:49:04Speaker 9: to when I was a kid 45 years ago.
- 1:49:05Speaker 6: Jeez.
- 1:49:08Speaker 9: That's hard to believe. It's been at least 45 years
- 1:49:12Speaker 9: since I've been there. I wonder if it still looks
- 1:49:15Speaker 9: the same. I don't know. Maybe Cash and I will
- 1:49:17Speaker 9: go do a lunch buffet there one day. It's been
- 1:49:19Speaker 9: too long. I want Barry's back. Barry's Pizza. Anyway, welcome
- 1:49:23Speaker 9: back to Chris X Radio. You reached the final segment
- 1:49:25Speaker 9: of the week. We're done after this. Turn it over
- 1:49:28Speaker 9: to Joey Pags and we'll be back on Tuesday after
- 1:49:30Speaker 9: the Columbus Day holiday coming up on Monday. I will
- 1:49:34Speaker 9: celebrate Columbus Day. I don't celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day. I
- 1:49:38Speaker 9: am indigenous to Houston, Texas, so we'll just say that.
- 1:49:42Speaker 9: And then we're trying to remember some of these great
- 1:49:46Speaker 9: restaurants of our past. And where's Talafrico? He's missing. I
- 1:49:50Speaker 9: saw him on the side of a soy milk carton somewhere.
- 1:49:53Speaker 9: We don't know where he's at. I imagine he's supposedly
- 1:49:55Speaker 9: going to show back up. But for a 37-year-old healthy man,
- 1:49:58Speaker 9: he's been off the campaign trail for 12 days now.
- 1:50:02Speaker 9: after lying about going to an emergency clinic and saying
- 1:50:06Speaker 9: he's got the flu. I don't think he's got the flu.
- 1:50:11Speaker 9: 93-year-old Chuck Grassley recovered from the flu faster than that.
- 1:50:15Speaker 9: And he's out currently campaigning in Iowa for the Republican ticket.
- 1:50:18Speaker 9: All right, let's go to the phones. Let's pick up
- 1:50:20Speaker 9: with Kelly listening in Westchase. Kelly, thank you for hanging on.
- 1:50:23Speaker 9: Welcome to Chris X Radio.
- 1:50:25Speaker 23: Hello, Chris.
- 1:50:26Speaker 14: I've missed talking to you.
- 1:50:29Speaker 9: Well, thank you, Kelly. It's good to hear from you.
- 1:50:32Speaker 14: Okay, I'd like to see Cafe Adobe.
- 1:50:36Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 1:50:37Speaker 14: Mexican restaurant. They had the best spinach enchiladas in the
- 1:50:42Speaker 14: whole wide world.
- 1:50:44Speaker 9: Wow, yeah, they were good Tex-Mex. Man, I forgot all
- 1:50:47Speaker 9: about Cafe Adobe. That place is great.
- 1:50:50Speaker 24: Oh, man.
- 1:50:51Speaker 14: I miss that. And San Francisco Steakhouse on Westheimer with
- 1:50:55Speaker 14: the Red Velvet Swing.
- 1:50:57Speaker 9: Oh, man, yeah. You know what? I don't even know
- 1:50:59Speaker 9: if I ever actually went there, but I remember driving
- 1:51:01Speaker 9: by the big sign. So I was a little young
- 1:51:05Speaker 9: for it. I do believe I missed it for the
- 1:51:06Speaker 9: most part, but I can imagine it was probably pretty good.
- 1:51:09Speaker 14: It was outstanding. I used to go there with my
- 1:51:15Speaker 14: in-laws for my birthday every year. Oh, wow.
- 1:51:19Speaker 9: So where do you go for your birthday every year now?
- 1:51:21Speaker 14: Believe it or not, we go to Longhorn.
- 1:51:27Speaker 9: Oh, Longhorn's good. I like Longhorn. Man, they're very good. Okay,
- 1:51:31Speaker 9: so that's not bad. And they're all over the city.
- 1:51:34Speaker 9: You've got them on just about every side of town
- 1:51:37Speaker 9: you've got one. So that's okay, good. All right, well,
- 1:51:39Speaker 9: you've got some good ideas. Thanks for the call, Kelly.
- 1:51:45Speaker 9: I appreciate it. That was Kelly in West Jason. Man,
- 1:51:48Speaker 9: the old San Francisco Steakhouse. I remember their sign. It
- 1:51:51Speaker 9: was all big and lit up. That was a good sign.
- 1:51:54Speaker 9: Let's go to Don in Point Blake. Don, we've only
- 1:51:56Speaker 9: got about maybe a minute, but I want to make
- 1:51:57Speaker 9: sure you got in before we run out of time.
- 1:52:01Speaker 10: I agree with you about the greatness of Nolan Ryan,
- 1:52:05Speaker 10: but I'd put a caveat. I'd rate Nolan Ryan the
- 1:52:09Speaker 10: greatest right-handed pitcher of all time, and Sandy Koufax, the
- 1:52:15Speaker 10: greatest left-handed pitcher.
- 1:52:18Speaker 9: I would say Sandy is definitely the greatest left-handed pitcher,
- 1:52:21Speaker 9: but I don't put him anywhere close to Nolan Ryan.
- 1:52:24Speaker 9: I mean, look at the longevity, look at what Nolan
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: Ryan did, look at those records. Sandy Kovacs had four no-hitters,
- 1:52:30Speaker 9: still amazing, but to compare him to Nolan's seven no-hitters
- 1:52:34Speaker 9: and how many, was it 18 or one-hitters and 32
- 1:52:37Speaker 9: two-hitters and the strikeouts, I mean, they're definitely amazing top
- 1:52:43Speaker 9: ten for sure, but I wouldn't put Sandy above Nolan,
- 1:52:46Speaker 9: no way.
- 1:52:48Speaker 10: No, well, I didn't say that. I was just making
- 1:52:51Speaker 10: it right and left. But Sandy had to retire at
- 1:52:55Speaker 10: age 30 because of arthritis. But anyway, and the numbers,
- 1:53:03Speaker 10: I don't know if you got them. Nolan Ryan's strikeout, 57-14.
- 1:53:08Speaker 10: Randy Johnson, 48-75. And Roger Clemens, 46-72.
- 1:53:18Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 1:53:19Speaker 9: All right, thanks for the call. We're out of time,
- 1:53:20Speaker 9: but there you go. And those records, I don't know
- 1:53:23Speaker 9: if any of those will ever be broken. All right, everybody,
- 1:53:26Speaker 9: have a good, safe weekend. We'll see you Tuesday, God willing.
- 1:53:29Speaker 9: Have a good, safe, and happy Columbus Day.
