Tenby Turner, facing felony murder charges after her daughter Sterling was killed on MoPac Expressway, has now pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of abandoning or endangering a child — a second-degree felony. The plea comes with the state dropping the more serious charge, though no formal deal was struck. Sterling, 14, with Asperger’s, was struck while walking in the southbound lanes in November 2021 and died hours later. Sentencing is expected in September or October.
