- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna say this real quick. I know nothing about NBA.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm just gonna toss this one in the air. You
- 2:50Speaker 1: guys open if you want. I'm going Pacers in six
- 2:53Speaker 1: Pacers and six. Ask me why why. I saw McAfee
- 2:59Speaker 1: do a cool video when he walked out and he
- 3:01Speaker 1: said he saw the people and he's like a lot
- 3:02Speaker 1: of cool people from New York here, let's get their
- 3:04Speaker 1: ass back to New York. And I thought that was
- 3:05Speaker 1: really cool. Yeah, And for that reason, I'll be going Pacers.
- 3:08Speaker 4: The Pacers and Knicks, I feel like, is the only
- 3:10Speaker 4: kind of series that I sort of followed because of
- 3:15Speaker 4: social media, because of Ben Stiller, Pat McAfee and all
- 3:18Speaker 4: the boys.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Timothy, Timothy shal Man, Timothy Shalom, Shalo May who By
- 3:26Speaker 1: the way, he's on a generational run right now. I
- 3:28Speaker 1: don't think he can be beat. He might be the
- 3:29Speaker 1: most likable celebrity in the entire world.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, and it seemed like the Knicks blew a massive
- 3:33Speaker 4: lead to where they were. They were mimicking redoing the
- 3:36Speaker 4: the choke, the iconic choke photo chokedalk with who is
- 3:40Speaker 4: that Reggie Miller? Good pull good little NBA knowledge up
- 3:46Speaker 4: here every now and then that.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Boy just tossed one up, no problem. Yeah, I know nothing.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I know nothing about NBA, but I am going Pacers
- 3:54Speaker 1: and six. Call it beginner's luck.
- 3:56Speaker 6: To me, it seems like it's the finals of where
- 3:58Speaker 6: would you want to live? Lee East, Indiana or Oklahoma?
- 4:03Speaker 6: Like it's like it's just a bit like once the
- 4:05Speaker 6: game's over, it's like, yeah, else won, Yeah, Like there's
- 4:09Speaker 6: really only one When this is it's everyone.
- 4:12Speaker 4: The moment moment for glory.
- 4:15Speaker 1: If you were to pick a place between those two
- 4:17Speaker 1: to live, which on would you pick?
- 4:18Speaker 6: Oklahoma?
- 4:18Speaker 4: I think, Oh, I.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Think I'm going Indiana too.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I think Indiana.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Yeah. Fuck the cults.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Okay, all right, that just comes down to maybe, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 4: remove sports from it.
- 4:32Speaker 6: H I still think Oklahoma. Yeah, if you feel it,
- 4:35Speaker 6: chase it.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Man.
- 4:36Speaker 4: We're trying.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You're running for your life. There's a tornado in every
- 4:39Speaker 1: corner behind alley instead of gang members, they got tornadoes
- 4:42Speaker 1: in the alleyways.
- 4:42Speaker 6: Or if you play your cards right, that's just busy season.
- 4:45Speaker 6: You're out there chasing storms, which.
- 4:47Speaker 1: We should want. I want to put it on record now.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I would love to chase a tornado twenty twenty six.
- 4:52Speaker 6: It would be an awesome vlog for us if there
- 4:54Speaker 6: are storm chasers out there with the right equipment. Yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 6: this afternoon, maybe we'll put that out there.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Put that dude.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You in a bad place, I do. I've been to Oklahoma.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Very flat standard, a quarter seat, the whole entire state
- 5:08Speaker 1: type of mentality. Gay Bikert a good friend of mine.
- 5:10Speaker 1: He's from Oklahoma. He had a wedding out there, very nice,
- 5:12Speaker 1: very beautiful. However, I'm going Indiana all the way sant Elmos.
- 5:17Speaker 1: They got first off, you go in a little downtown.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They got all the steakhouses out there, Notre Dame, which
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know, the linebacker just in South Bend.
- 5:30Speaker 6: The one thing I'll give Indiana is they have really
- 5:32Speaker 6: prime time indoor go kart racing tracks and.
- 5:36Speaker 7: That I can get behind.
- 5:37Speaker 6: And the Space Center because I grew up playing au basketball.
- 5:41Speaker 6: You go to the Space Center, which is in Indiana.
- 5:43Speaker 6: And what you do for fun outside of playing ball
- 5:46Speaker 6: there is you go race indoor go carts like that
- 5:48Speaker 6: was pretty much it. And the Combine and the common
- 5:51Speaker 6: to the Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium, steakhouses.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, cocktail sauce, cocktail sauce, everything you possibly need. Boys
- 6:02Speaker 1: tunnels because he gets so goddamn cold in the wintertime.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Tunnel more like.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Like what walkways indoor walkways up above ground tunnels, skyscrapers.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Well that's that, but they're all connected. You can stay
- 6:18Speaker 1: inside all day if you want.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Which is God.
- 6:21Speaker 1: That's gotta be a proferable content. You don't have to
- 6:22Speaker 1: go outside at all. You're just in here.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Boom, dude, I get outside.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Hey you got outside this past week?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah yeah you did.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah you did.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Gotta get outside more than.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You Okay, sure, yeah, yeah you do, Yeah you do.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Hell yeah, must have missed my photo I took of
- 6:37Speaker 1: my tractor yesterday because I was outside all day yesterday.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I didn't see you in the tractor.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Who took the photo?
- 6:43Speaker 4: It's easy to go outside and just take a photo
- 6:44Speaker 4: of a tractor back just.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Sitting there at the corner. I'm gonna send you a
- 6:50Speaker 1: video today.
- 6:50Speaker 4: You get out there and just get you you video
- 6:53Speaker 4: and digging up whatever you're digging up.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I do, and I right now. I went to
- 6:57Speaker 1: True Value yesterday, had a good conversation with one of
- 7:00Speaker 1: the guys that worked there about Nebraska's were in Nebraska.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Hat I go, Hey go, big Red, big mistake. Takes
- 7:05Speaker 1: fifteen to twenty minutes of my time to tell me about
- 7:07Speaker 1: how they lost Oklahoma, but they beat North Carolina. If
- 7:09Speaker 1: they played them again, they play Oklahoma and I'm not
- 7:11Speaker 1: working out for those boys. However, got myself a hoe
- 7:15Speaker 1: all right, I've been out there fucking gardening in a
- 7:17Speaker 1: big way.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Right now.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I told you guys three to five years greatest garden Bergs.
- 7:19Speaker 6: What Twitter is? They want a video of you driving
- 7:22Speaker 6: that tractor?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Done? And I saw a couple of people getting mad
- 7:25Speaker 1: about the Cabodo.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Sounds like a lot a lot of John Deer fans,
- 7:28Speaker 6: a lot.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Of John Deer fans. I think a lot of people
- 7:30Speaker 1: are upset that I just got before the tariff took place,
- 7:33Speaker 1: right and I don't even know it right, no clue,
- 7:36Speaker 1: no clue, and I don't even know to be honest,
- 7:38Speaker 1: where Cabodo is even manufactured. Probably Japan, right, And we've
- 7:44Speaker 1: got to be in a terriff war with them right now.
- 7:46Speaker 1: We're in a terrifor with everybody. Go get your iPhones
- 7:49Speaker 1: while you still can, ladies and gentlemen. Also, big moment

- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you two that kind of crazy.
- 8:21Speaker 4: You guys also kind of just worked for us too.
- 8:24Speaker 1: For free, So I guess no, I think there was
- 8:26Speaker 1: a time we got a hundred bucks a week.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Eight months after working for free.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I'm gonna be how little broken?
- 8:36Speaker 6: How long do you think that we worked for free?
- 8:38Speaker 4: For three months?
- 8:41Speaker 6: It was absolutely at least six.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Okay, but you've already gone, Gary Goes. I was getting paid, so.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I just posted on our Twitter, and I had it
- 8:54Speaker 6: typed out the first official class of busting with boys interns,
- 8:57Speaker 6: and I was like, wait, what the fuck?
- 8:58Speaker 1: I was like, we was the first kind of formal
- 9:02Speaker 1: formal you guys. You guys walked into a startup company.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Everyone was everyone had a lot of free time. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: you guys have the NFL, so right, this was a side.
- 9:11Speaker 6: It was a hobby for y'all, and for us it
- 9:12Speaker 6: was life or death.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So what a horrible you were like intern number one
- 9:16Speaker 4: behind what we have.

- 9:28Speaker 6: Me and Gary Will dubbed them as the first official
- 9:31Speaker 6: class of interns and we'll.

- 9:35Speaker 4: Jack?
- 9:35Speaker 6: Yeah?

- 9:37Speaker 1: It's good to speak your truth. Don't see how fall
- 9:39Speaker 1: you come just bought a house. I want to talk
- 9:40Speaker 1: about how back in your day, how tough it was.

- 9:45Speaker 1: suits on, by the way, suits sour patch kids. Celsius.
- 9:50Speaker 1: They brought Celsius, they brought all singular celsius in a pack.
- 9:55Speaker 6: But the one thing they're missing. Not one of them

- 18:35Speaker 1: nine to watch it. It sounds like we've got a
- 18:37Speaker 1: lot of time.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Great movie.

- 19:14Speaker 1: You can hear the boss, the boss. Okay, let's let's
- 19:18Speaker 1: have a pretend like the interns can't hear us right now,
- 19:21Speaker 1: first impressions, which one is your favorite?
- 19:23Speaker 7: God, I'm not gonna say my favorite?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you do say your favorite?
- 19:27Speaker 3: Boss?
- 19:27Speaker 1: Move, what's the number?
- 19:28Speaker 3: One's?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Who's your number one?
- 19:29Speaker 8: Guy?
- 19:30Speaker 4: Right now?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Rank your like Dean Sanders ranking his children ranked the
- 19:33Speaker 1: what do you.
- 19:34Speaker 7: That's I think that's a that's I think that's a
- 19:36Speaker 7: bad because they're gonna watch this and then that's gonna
- 19:37Speaker 7: put weird pressure.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah, polished number here, the number is a good boss
- 19:43Speaker 1: they're all great.
- 19:44Speaker 7: They're all great. The suits is great. We were hoping
- 19:46Speaker 7: that everyone except for one would show up in a suit.
- 19:48Speaker 7: That would have been like the perfect thing, that would
- 19:50Speaker 7: have been the most idea.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah, what are you? What's your what's your outlook on
- 19:54Speaker 4: your your internship program? Like, what is your what are
- 19:57Speaker 4: your goals? What are your priorities? When you laid up
- 20:00Speaker 4: at night and spent the entire night writing out this formula,
- 20:02Speaker 4: this agenda? What are you hoping to accomplish with these boys?
- 20:06Speaker 7: Grow these boys and their skills help Like we've said,
- 20:11Speaker 7: like do ship for busting and we can trust them
- 20:14Speaker 7: with it, like by the end of the summer, Like
- 20:16Speaker 7: we're not having to like watch over.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Them, I mean.
- 20:22Speaker 7: And better words, groom them.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:26Speaker 7: They do good work. Groma's individuals.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Workers and people.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, workers and people.
- 20:34Speaker 7: I'm nervous now I put all my effort into hiring
- 20:36Speaker 7: them and then now they're here.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Mike, Well, you're about to give them the orientation.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm nervous for that, which I kind of want to
- 20:42Speaker 1: be a part of.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I know, are you polished for the core values?
- 20:46Speaker 7: I've gone over Like an embarrassing amount of times so long.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Give us the core values.
- 20:50Speaker 7: Huh, gooner x grind set. You're gonna want to write
- 20:56Speaker 7: this ship down boys grind set. Uh uh, optimism, overachiever, innovation, effective,
- 21:08Speaker 7: film room X place.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, not gonna want very nice you guys.
- 21:17Speaker 4: The orientation.
- 21:28Speaker 1: When Will and I were having conversations about getting internship together,
- 21:32Speaker 1: who's going to be in charge of it? Jared eventually
- 21:35Speaker 1: came to mind. He was up at the top of
- 21:36Speaker 1: our list, and our whole thought process was, if you've
- 21:39Speaker 1: ever seen the show Suits, how Louis Litt runs his interns, Yep,
- 21:44Speaker 1: that's kind of what we're looking for. Iron fist type
- 21:47Speaker 1: of mentality. Beat these guys into.
- 21:48Speaker 4: The ground and all.
- 21:50Speaker 1: The cream will rise at the top. That's what we want.
- 21:53Speaker 1: We want Lewis Litt out of Jared demon that's what
- 21:56Speaker 1: we need to do it. I think he can absolutely
- 21:58Speaker 1: do it.

- 23:02Speaker 1: no doubt about it.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Should dive into how was a Memorial Memorial Day weekend?
- 23:06Speaker 1: Memorial Day week, Memorial Day week. It seems like it
- 23:09Speaker 1: was so long ago. We had so much stuff going
- 23:12Speaker 1: on that week. Memorial Day was awesome. It was a
- 23:16Speaker 1: great time, hung out, fucking chilled. I've kind of forgot
- 23:22Speaker 1: what I did, honestly. Yeah, yeah, I went to Michael
- 23:27Speaker 1: Chandler's house. He has a Memorial Day party, so we
- 23:28Speaker 1: went there on Saturday. That was awesome. That was a
- 23:31Speaker 1: good little hangout. Sash weather wasn't the best. It was
- 23:34Speaker 1: not worth getting in the pool for me. But it's
- 23:36Speaker 1: at there a lot of wats and I'll bring that out.
- 23:39Speaker 1: There's a reason why I'm bringing that up. A lot
- 23:40Speaker 1: of wat people just had. And then Natalie Taylor's friend
- 23:44Speaker 1: brings all of her kids over. And then who shows
- 23:47Speaker 1: up about an hour late to the party, Baron Bates.
- 23:50Speaker 1: And you should have just seen Darren walking up to
- 23:52Speaker 1: the house. You just you just tell he was like,
- 23:54Speaker 1: what what the fuck am I doing here? And he
- 23:56Speaker 1: and I just hung out and talked for like three hours.
- 23:59Speaker 1: It was awesome. It had a good time. And then
- 24:01Speaker 1: the squad went to down to Alice Beach hung out.
- 24:05Speaker 4: You guys have a good time.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we had a good time. I am slowly what's up?
- 24:12Speaker 4: I don't know. I think Gary and I are just laughing.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Had a good time, Like there's something behind that time.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Because here's the deal. I've kind of like I've been
- 24:19Speaker 1: a little I've been critical about thirty eight. I've been
- 24:22Speaker 1: critical about my process of going there, you leave, you
- 24:24Speaker 1: come back. You say it's Italy. I go, I think
- 24:27Speaker 1: I've never been in Italy. Battle like, this is Italy.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I walk into Alice Beach feels very much like a
- 24:31Speaker 1: grease type of feel. I feel that quite a bit.
- 24:33Speaker 1: But also it gives me like the scene a plot
- 24:36Speaker 1: of have you ever seen the horror movie the village? Yes,
- 24:39Speaker 1: how it's like very like the Amish or whatever, and
- 24:41Speaker 1: then it becomes very creepy at nighttime. I get that
- 24:44Speaker 1: feeling with Alice, like everything is so white, and not
- 24:47Speaker 1: just the people, but like the landscape is just so
- 24:50Speaker 1: white and like very clean and put together, very hoity toity.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It's where I think to myself, this is the rich village.
- 24:57Speaker 1: This is where at nighttime, after ten p they start
- 25:01Speaker 1: coming out right, they start getting a little scary on me.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I think it's very beautiful, very fun. The next time
- 25:07Speaker 1: I went, I enjoyed it more. This is my third
- 25:09Speaker 1: time going to Alice Beach or in the thirty A area.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I get it. I now understand. I understand why people
- 25:16Speaker 1: love it. I understand why people go down there all
- 25:18Speaker 1: the time. I understand why you know the beaches, how
- 25:21Speaker 1: they're not just sandy, dude, it's like grainier than sand.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It's like more, it's softer, it's comfortable. My kids love
- 25:28Speaker 1: playing around, and it were up. We're up there at nighttime.
- 25:30Speaker 1: We got flashlights. We're chasing crabs down I understand. And
- 25:34Speaker 1: now I want to get a place down there. So
- 25:36Speaker 1: that has been my that has been my pivot. Yeah,
- 25:40Speaker 1: we're moving south because I'm thinking to myself, bro, this exists.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Why are we not down at this shit all the time? No? No, no,
- 25:48Speaker 1: not Alice and Alice is I think Alice is fun.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I think being near Alice is great. I don't like
- 25:52Speaker 1: being in Alice. I think it's a I don't know
- 25:55Speaker 1: if it's my upbringer or what, but I just have
- 25:57Speaker 1: like there's a representation of it that I think it's beautiful.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Restaurants are nice, but I'd rather live a couple of
- 26:02Speaker 1: blocks away. Take my bike, take no, take my bike,
- 26:07Speaker 1: and then cruise over there, go to the Raw Juicy,
- 26:09Speaker 1: give myself an assie bowl and a couple of nice juices,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and then dip out. I feel like there's a lot
- 26:13Speaker 1: of I have to wear a colored shirt twenty four said.
- 26:15Speaker 1: When I'm in that area, you know, I get the
- 26:17Speaker 1: looks when I'm wearing my old school bus in the
- 26:20Speaker 1: Eagle with the beer tied, I a white T shirt
- 26:23Speaker 1: and my shorts that are a little too short for me.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I start walking around that area, I get a couple
- 26:27Speaker 1: of docks and a little couple.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Of looks that could also because you're six seven.
- 26:32Speaker 1: True, true, and a lot of bust and fans down
- 26:37Speaker 1: there too. But it really is just Nashville at the beach.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Ye.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's really all it is down there. So
- 26:42Speaker 1: I messed with it. But I know you went down
- 26:44Speaker 1: there as well.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I was it for you.
- 26:45Speaker 4: It was a great time. It was a great time.
- 26:47Speaker 4: We stayed in uh, stayed in secret, just kind of
- 26:50Speaker 4: like right next to Rosemary Alice is a little down
- 26:52Speaker 4: the road. Uh, dude, but it was a blast. Tuesday
- 26:56Speaker 4: was great weather, Wednesday was great weather. Thursday storm all
- 27:00Speaker 4: day long, but we had dinner early and ended up
- 27:03Speaker 4: hitting the beach for like the evening when the sunset
- 27:05Speaker 4: goes down and everything else. Running around. We grab some photos.
- 27:08Speaker 4: But dude, it was a fun time. A lot of chaos,
- 27:10Speaker 4: but controlled chaos. I kind of think about it like,
- 27:13Speaker 4: you know, a football season. You put in all this
- 27:16Speaker 4: work to prepare and plan for just these little moments
- 27:19Speaker 4: at a time that you take in and enjoy. But
- 27:22Speaker 4: then you get back in the car or you got
- 27:24Speaker 4: a prep for the next day, and you know, it's
- 27:26Speaker 4: a little chaotic it because you got a three year old,
- 27:28Speaker 4: you got a six month old. So but it was good. Yeah,
- 27:31Speaker 4: it was a fun time. That's called a little color.
- 27:33Speaker 4: There are a bunch of bus and fans down there,
- 27:34Speaker 4: a lot of people coming up. Hey, did you end
- 27:36Speaker 4: up finding the beach? Did you end up finding rentals?
- 27:38Speaker 4: I got something for you if you didn't.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Question, Yeah, bro, it was Did you figure it out?
- 27:44Speaker 4: What was the.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Situation with that?
- 27:45Speaker 4: So here's here's what actually happened. We played. We've been
- 27:52Speaker 4: planning to go to down to Rosemary Secrets thirty A
- 27:55Speaker 4: for a few months now, and Turow a few weeks
- 27:59Speaker 4: out called the rental companies to get us set up
- 28:02Speaker 4: for you know, an umbrella, chairs, all the services so
- 28:06Speaker 4: you're not carrying your chairs and everything down to the beach.
- 28:09Speaker 4: And none of the services ended up calling back or
- 28:12Speaker 4: getting back to her voicemails, which they usually do. And
- 28:14Speaker 4: so we're heading down there and I'm like, let me
- 28:18Speaker 4: just try to call and I try to DM them
- 28:20Speaker 4: on Instagram, these different spots. I try to call them.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Somebody finally answers. I want to say his name is Carry,
- 28:26Speaker 4: shout out Carry. But he's like, oh, we got nothing
- 28:29Speaker 4: this week, bro, And he's like, I don't think anybody does.
- 28:31Speaker 4: So everything was booked up because we're driving down there
- 28:33Speaker 4: the day of Like, oh, we're driving down there on Monday.
- 28:36Speaker 4: And so I took to the internet and my thought was,
- 28:41Speaker 4: we'll just buy an umbrella, Like we're just gonna have
- 28:43Speaker 4: to carry chairs, We'll buy an umbrella. I'll just go
- 28:45Speaker 4: out crack a dawn and just mark the territory and
- 28:48Speaker 4: stake it out. It's ain't going down. Yeah, I ain't
- 28:51Speaker 4: gonna I ain't gonna let this happen to this family. Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 4: we're not going down all this way. We're not gonna
- 28:55Speaker 4: get a good spot.
- 28:55Speaker 1: And it gives you an opportunity to be the hero
- 28:57Speaker 1: of this story, which is awesome.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Yeah. And uh, so we get down there, we buy
- 29:01Speaker 4: an umbrella and everything. But that night we were staying
- 29:04Speaker 4: in uh we were staying in secret to where it's
- 29:06Speaker 4: like this this village area. We had a cot. We
- 29:08Speaker 4: were renting a condo in this village area where they
- 29:10Speaker 4: have all all these little eating spots. There's a band
- 29:12Speaker 4: playing at night time. It's a lot of fun. And
- 29:14Speaker 4: Ben Jones shows up. He's down there. We see each other.
- 29:17Speaker 4: We're chopping it up, and he was like, hey, if
- 29:20Speaker 4: you need a place to go to the beach, like,
- 29:21Speaker 4: you can just come. You can come to my house,
- 29:23Speaker 4: you can park and then you can just walk down
- 29:25Speaker 4: to the to our beach area. Usually there's there's never
- 29:28Speaker 4: that many people because everybody's down at like Rosemary and
- 29:31Speaker 4: where Alice everything else. So we had to hook up
- 29:34Speaker 4: the Ben drove drove the next day, went into his
- 29:37Speaker 4: uh went into his little community, parked on the lot
- 29:40Speaker 4: where he's gonna build on, and we just had a
- 29:42Speaker 4: little walk down to the beach so we were able
- 29:44Speaker 4: to sit up there. And then on Wednesday, Charles had UH.
- 29:46Speaker 4: We linked up with one of Charles's friends and we
- 29:48Speaker 4: went to this place called the Water Sound Club, which
- 29:50Speaker 4: seems immaculate. They have it's like, uh, it's like uh
- 29:55Speaker 4: like a beach country club vibe to where you have
- 29:58Speaker 4: private beach access. There's pools there, there's like a lazy river,
- 30:02Speaker 4: so they have all the you know, the chairs, the umbrella,
- 30:05Speaker 4: the food service going on. So that way, when you
- 30:07Speaker 4: got the kiddos like you're you're set up. You're not
- 30:09Speaker 4: carrying a bunch of different things, because Rue will lose
- 30:11Speaker 4: her mind if she has any grains of sand in
- 30:14Speaker 4: her in her sandals.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Which to for Rue like that is a very big
- 30:19Speaker 1: pain in the ass.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 1: There's a couple of times I had to make the
- 30:21Speaker 1: trick from the beach back to the condo, back and forth. Yeah,
- 30:23Speaker 1: and I'm feeling the sand between my toes and I'm
- 30:25Speaker 1: fucking hating one.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, So we got to do that on Wednesday,
- 30:28Speaker 4: and then Thursday we did a lot of stuff just inside.
- 30:30Speaker 4: We went down to a few shops and then in
- 30:32Speaker 4: the evening we got dinner early and went we went
- 30:34Speaker 4: out to the beach, and then Friday we sent it
- 30:36Speaker 4: home and shout it. Also, Kirk Banker, he put me
- 30:39Speaker 4: on greaton Greaton Beach, which is probably a fifteen minute
- 30:43Speaker 4: drive from where we're at.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Is that, Alice, Rosemary?
- 30:48Speaker 4: That way got you? No, Rosemary goes like Rosemary secret Alice.
- 30:53Speaker 4: You know, we're Ben Jones and it's it's continuing up,
- 30:55Speaker 4: it's continuing up. That way got you know what I'm saying.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying. Area. Is that
- 31:00Speaker 1: the area that the houses, I don't want to say
- 31:04Speaker 1: not as nice, but like they're more like southern beachy,
- 31:08Speaker 1: old school vibes more. Yeah, it feels more authentic, not
- 31:11Speaker 1: as much. Which people found the area because I kind
- 31:13Speaker 1: of I like doing that little drive up there, go
- 31:15Speaker 1: hit the turbo coffee. They had a little coffee spot
- 31:17Speaker 1: out there that's pretty awesome. And then you kind of
- 31:19Speaker 1: keep going and it's a little more.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Gratings, like a good fifteen minute drive, so it might
- 31:23Speaker 4: be a little farther than I'm thinking. And there's a spot,
- 31:26Speaker 4: oh man, I forget. I think it's called hots h
- 31:30Speaker 4: Otz and they have these breakfast tacos and burritos and bowls,
- 31:34Speaker 4: and the coffee was phenomenal. So we hit there a
- 31:36Speaker 4: couple of times, but it was good. Dude, hit a
- 31:39Speaker 4: what is it George's the dinner spot, it's over by you,
- 31:43Speaker 4: it's over by Alice. You not hit George's when you
- 31:46Speaker 4: go to no, oh, buddy, Citizen is where we went
- 31:49Speaker 4: on Wednesday.
- 31:50Speaker 1: They're Citizen Oku. There's that Charlie's Lord Fonville. That place
- 31:57Speaker 1: does fuck they have an onion onion dip type of thing.
- 32:00Speaker 4: And then just that little Rosemary Town Center bro where
- 32:03Speaker 4: it's got the fountain.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, that's where. That's where, you understand, so family friendly.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Six different ice cream shops. Yeah, there's there's all these
- 32:14Speaker 1: different kind of ice cream shops. It's like I want
- 32:16Speaker 1: to I want to be ash ketchum, I want to
- 32:19Speaker 1: get them on.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, super quick.
- 32:22Speaker 12: I was lucky enough my grandmother was born in Blue
- 32:26Speaker 12: Mountain Beach and actually lived in Grayton Beach my entire life,
- 32:29Speaker 12: so I got to grow up going to grandma's house
- 32:31Speaker 12: in Grayton. And a tip for you, if you're looking
- 32:34Speaker 12: down there, it cannot get discovered because it is surrounded
- 32:38Speaker 12: by National parks, so it cannot expand anymore. So that
- 32:44Speaker 12: that you're looking for that, it's like you're off the
- 32:46Speaker 12: beaten path, but you're right there by it.
- 32:49Speaker 4: You should look in Grayton. It's cool.
- 32:50Speaker 1: You know what spot I really like, I really love
- 32:53Speaker 1: is Ben Jones's little area.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I don't want to.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Put off anything his spot that he's at, but that
- 32:58Speaker 1: neighborhood is in Yeah. A big fan of that.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the one that's like right next to Alice.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's what I like about it is you're
- 33:05Speaker 1: just a bike. You're kind of a bike, right, you're central,
- 33:07Speaker 1: but you're just off a little bit where you can
- 33:09Speaker 1: go bike ride and hit it all. Because I do
- 33:12Speaker 1: a big news Win Rebel Lawan. Right before we went
- 33:15Speaker 1: down there, we got a bike and we did the
- 33:18Speaker 1: towel technique when rebela one can now ride a bike.
- 33:21Speaker 4: The we technique, the wet technique, towels, towel technique.
- 33:25Speaker 1: So you get them. First off, Win is a very
- 33:27Speaker 1: cautious child. Love her to death. She's very she gets
- 33:30Speaker 1: nervous about new things. But you take a towel and
- 33:32Speaker 1: you're wrapping around their torso and you kind of hold
- 33:34Speaker 1: it and you kind of just jog next torom her
- 33:36Speaker 1: walk next to them while they're figuring out the balance
- 33:38Speaker 1: of the bike. And we went down there first couple
- 33:41Speaker 1: of times. There was one time she spun out of control.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Does the whole reach back for daddy thing. I'm thinking, brother,
- 33:45Speaker 1: you're gonna get shit. Just had her dangling like the
- 33:49Speaker 1: bike hits and she's just like like like like Tom
- 33:52Speaker 1: Cruise mission impossible. Right, he goes down pitches and I
- 33:56Speaker 1: got her back up, hit her with a couple of those.
- 33:58Speaker 1: But now she's riding. She's still afraid have the towel off.
- 34:00Speaker 1: But I kind of just jogged next to her now
- 34:03Speaker 1: while I hold the towel and she's like fully balancing
- 34:05Speaker 1: yourself also, So just get a solid sweating. But uh, yeah,
- 34:09Speaker 1: the bike riding. I love the bike riding. I love
- 34:12Speaker 1: the golf carts. I love that. I love the fact
- 34:14Speaker 1: I don't have to get a car. I can go
- 34:16Speaker 1: park my car and not have to see it for
- 34:18Speaker 1: the rest of the trip. I'm down there, and so
- 34:20Speaker 1: Ben's area I think is awesome because it's right there.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Their beach access so easy. You don't have to ask
- 34:26Speaker 1: a lot of questions. You don't just walk down that
- 34:27Speaker 1: one little area and it's coolly like Ben's down there.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Trs in that same area. The one bad part about
- 34:33Speaker 1: it is you can't rent it. You can't rent it out.
- 34:35Speaker 1: So if you were to get a place, can't rent it.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I think if I ever got a place, i'd
- 34:40Speaker 4: probably get it near that that water Sound club.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I need to know more.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Grab a golf cart, just get a little townhouse, have
- 34:48Speaker 4: a golf cart just have a spot where you go
- 34:51Speaker 4: you can take an easy little golf cart ride and
- 34:53Speaker 4: the services are there. So that way you're not you know.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Is that up the road, like away from the beach.
- 34:59Speaker 4: It's like in yeah, it's like more again explaining it
- 35:03Speaker 4: Rosemary Secrest, Alice, that Ben Jones area a little more
- 35:07Speaker 4: up from that.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Got you a little more yeah, yeah, yeah, but that
- 35:13Speaker 1: area you go to past Alice, you take a rite.
- 35:15Speaker 1: There's like this I don't want to use the word
- 35:17Speaker 1: country club, but it is kind of like a country club.
- 35:19Speaker 1: They have golf courses on there. They have a really
- 35:21Speaker 1: nice state of the art gym. But there's also like
- 35:23Speaker 1: a little like water park player where they have a
- 35:26Speaker 1: lazy river and stuff like that. That's just up the road.
- 35:28Speaker 4: It might be water Sound Club, it might be it
- 35:31Speaker 4: might be why do you hate why do you hate
- 35:32Speaker 4: country club? You gotta let go of the country club.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You stayed al Yeah, No, I stayed in Oscach. I
- 35:37Speaker 1: rented at Alice Bach, which, by the way, the amenities
- 35:39Speaker 1: of Alice Beach is insane. I understand that for sure.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I don't like being told what to wear. I don't
- 35:46Speaker 1: like I don't like that it's like you have there's
- 35:48Speaker 1: a if there's a dress code, it just bothers me.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's like, why the fuck do we need that? We
- 35:53Speaker 1: don't have to.
- 35:54Speaker 4: You kind of get just told what to wear so
- 35:55Speaker 4: you don't have to think about it.
- 35:57Speaker 1: No, because it's no. Because if it's if it's if
- 35:59Speaker 1: it's given to me, like here's your kaki shorts and
- 36:01Speaker 1: here's your collar shirt that you have to wear every day,
- 36:02Speaker 1: it's like, great, that's like private school. I'll just walk around.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Don't us to worry about how they look. We all
- 36:06Speaker 1: have the same But it's like, you gotta wear a
- 36:07Speaker 1: collar shirt if you're this tucked in belt, blah blah blah.
- 36:11Speaker 1: That's where I kind of like, dude, what are we
- 36:12Speaker 1: trying to prove here? What are we chase it? As
- 36:14Speaker 1: Cory Eleven would say, I'm just trying to have fun.
- 36:16Speaker 1: So let me wear my T shirt and my shorts onward,
- 36:20Speaker 1: you know.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, okay, get it.
- 36:24Speaker 1: As long as you get it.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Busting Bowls Official three thirty three thirty Is that eastern?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Three thirty eastern? Hey, it's an afternoon game. We're in
- 36:36Speaker 4: the afternoon.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It's a second slot after the first slot. Gay, Yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 1: busting Bowl and Lincoln Birthday weekend. Let's fucking go. Can
- 36:47Speaker 1: we get fun to talk about?
- 36:48Speaker 3: Now?
- 36:48Speaker 12: Can we get your early line? Just what you think
- 36:51Speaker 12: the line of the game would be.
- 36:55Speaker 4: I think it'll be. I think it'll be Nebraska minus
- 37:01Speaker 4: five and a half.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I mean, man, let's be realistic. It'll probably be Michigan
- 37:08Speaker 1: favored around like seven and a half if we beat Oklahoma.
- 37:14Speaker 1: If we don't beat Oklahoma, I think that lines more
- 37:16Speaker 1: in your minus one and a half minus two and
- 37:18Speaker 1: a half. I don't think Nebraska has been given the
- 37:20Speaker 1: respect it deserves quite yet, so I think it's going
- 37:23Speaker 1: to lean a lot heavier towards Michigan if we beat Oklahoma.
- 37:27Speaker 1: In Oklahoma, line's going to get towards the double digit category.
- 37:31Speaker 12: What would you say if I told you that Vanduel
- 37:34Speaker 12: has already set the line just for you boys? And
- 37:37Speaker 12: what live reaction on the button?
- 37:39Speaker 6: No?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Shit?
- 37:40Speaker 2: Oh?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 37:42Speaker 4: Shut up?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Can we asked who was closer?
- 37:45Speaker 4: You can't?
- 37:46Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, why don't we just pull it up and
- 37:49Speaker 3: you'll see?
- 37:53Speaker 4: Okay, that seems fair.
- 37:55Speaker 1: That's a good I mean, you got hammer Michigan minus
- 37:58Speaker 1: three and a half right now, right, you gotta hammer
- 38:01Speaker 1: that pets. You gotta hammer that pretty fair. He's a
- 38:09Speaker 1: fair line. I mean, what was the last time these
- 38:11Speaker 1: two teams played. It was over twenty points? It was
- 38:14Speaker 1: twenty one and a half, I.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Believe, Yeah, yeah, it was a lot.
- 38:18Speaker 1: It was a lot. We don't got to go here
- 38:20Speaker 1: right now, do we.
- 38:21Speaker 4: I'm just saying you look right here. You got plus
- 38:24Speaker 4: one thirty six odds on just Nebraska money line. So
- 38:26Speaker 4: if you do think Nebraska gonna win this game, you're
- 38:28Speaker 4: any very favorable spot.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah it's going like that certainly equal out a little bit,
- 38:34Speaker 1: but yeah.
- 38:35Speaker 7: I do like the minus three and a half.
- 38:37Speaker 10: You're right, if you're if you're a Michigan fan, you
- 38:40Speaker 10: gotta hammer that.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Right because a lot of things can changed. The first
- 38:42Speaker 1: three weeks couldure worse for Michigan, no doubt about it,
- 38:45Speaker 1: But they handle Oklahoma. I had a conversation with a
- 38:50Speaker 1: guy down in Alice Beach. Actually he was wearing a thing.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I said boomer. He said soon, I said, how you
- 38:52Speaker 1: feel about Michigan goes? I don't know. I said, all right,
- 38:56Speaker 1: thank you, sir. All I needed went back to the beach.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Josh Paton seems to be pretty high on Oklahoma does
- 39:03Speaker 4: he I think he's got to be like their top ten,
- 39:05Speaker 4: top ten.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I don't like that because Payton is low key the
- 39:08Speaker 1: college football guru. Yeah, he understands.
- 39:10Speaker 11: Business is the like Boomer Sooner call it in public.
- 39:13Speaker 11: That's a pretty solid one, right, like.
- 39:15Speaker 4: A go blue whatever.
- 39:17Speaker 11: You just hit him with the boomer and they hit
- 39:18Speaker 11: you sooner.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I like ones that have more like call recall, like
- 39:21Speaker 1: so Boomer. Then they say sooner. But like that's all
- 39:24Speaker 1: you said. Yeah, I know, but you say go blue
- 39:27Speaker 1: and go blues. Just go blue, there's no got was.
- 39:32Speaker 4: A pretty good.
- 39:35Speaker 1: He said, like Michigan go blue.
- 39:37Speaker 5: It was.
- 39:38Speaker 11: I didn't want to say roll tide.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Do you say roll? Do you say roll? And then
- 39:42Speaker 1: somebody says time is Boomer Sooner better than game Cocks?
- 39:49Speaker 1: Like no, I think game I take game Cocks over that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I messing South Carolina Oklahoma like I don't have any ties.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I don't have any care about them.
- 39:59Speaker 6: But your whole argument is based off if you guys
- 40:03Speaker 6: win or lose against Oklahoma right now?
- 40:05Speaker 3: So do you care?
- 40:07Speaker 6: And are you gonna say yeah?
- 40:08Speaker 1: To me, it's not a bad blood game, Like that's
- 40:10Speaker 1: a worthy opponent. That's a Saul that's an SEC school.
- 40:13Speaker 1: We're gonna have to travel down means to them, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: we're gonna have to We're gonna see where we lie.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Early in the season, a lot of people want to say, Hey,
- 40:20Speaker 1: we're not gonna do these big time non conference games.
- 40:23Speaker 1: We fucking we're Stintinto's own. We're gonna go get this
- 40:26Speaker 1: non conference game in. We're gonna handle.
- 40:27Speaker 11: I think you got to take the three and the
- 40:29Speaker 11: half now, Yeah, I think so if you're a Michie,
- 40:32Speaker 11: if you're leaning towards that way.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm I'm obviously I like the three
- 40:36Speaker 1: and a half a lot because you win in Oklahoma,
- 40:39Speaker 1: right right, you lose in Oklahoma. Depends how you lose,
- 40:43Speaker 1: it might just stay stay. Yeah, So it'll be interesting.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Our guest for this podcast is here. But before we
- 40:54Speaker 1: do that, let's talk about True Classic Schooner of the Month.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Let's talk about True Classic for a second. The most
- 41:01Speaker 1: affordable and best fitting clothing apparel you will ever wear
- 41:04Speaker 1: in your entire life. I'm wearing one of the shirts
- 41:05Speaker 1: right now, as always, grabs the shoulders, makes the arms
- 41:07Speaker 1: like a little bit nicer, holds in that chest. It's
- 41:10Speaker 1: like a nice little like a support broth for the
- 41:12Speaker 1: mail and then it kind of floats off at the
- 41:14Speaker 1: end right there, so your torso feels nice and wavy
- 41:16Speaker 1: in this summertime feeling. You can find Chrue Classic in
- 41:20Speaker 1: Costco in Nashville as of June thirteenth. They're also at
- 41:24Speaker 1: Sam's Club, Target online at chew classes dot com. Forward
- 41:27Speaker 1: Slash Busting Kids in Women line launching later this year.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Look Good, Play Good, and Cheue Classic has been the
- 41:34Speaker 1: Worthies sponsor to give us the Gooner of the month.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Those of you who don't know Gooder the month you're
- 41:40Speaker 1: joining us for the first time, this is what that is.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Every month, we have a lot of boys who work
- 41:44Speaker 1: very hard. We sit down in a team meeting right
- 41:46Speaker 1: before it's the first team meeting in the new month.
- 41:49Speaker 1: We do a quick vote. We put it in Will's hat.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Will and I go look, we see if there's a
- 41:52Speaker 1: little bit of a if there's a tie, no tie,
- 41:54Speaker 1: Will and I will break that tie or no tie,
- 41:57Speaker 1: and then we put it in this envelope.
- 41:58Speaker 4: Yeah, so are basically our Gooder the month, our employee
- 42:01Speaker 4: the month they will be getting five hundred dollars towards
- 42:05Speaker 4: true classic five hundred dollars from the Boys our gooner
- 42:13Speaker 4: of the month for the month of.
- 42:16Speaker 2: May, Jared Demon.
- 42:27Speaker 4: It was a close race.
- 42:28Speaker 1: It was a very very close race this month. Jared
- 42:32Speaker 1: obviously put in a lot of work with the internships
- 42:34Speaker 1: getting all those things going. He's in the middle of
- 42:37Speaker 1: it right now. We met the interripts early on this episode.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Great job to Jared, earned it, deserves it. Congrats again
- 42:43Speaker 1: to him, man, and thank.
- 42:44Speaker 4: You good parking spot. And he'll be leading the Core
- 42:51Speaker 4: values exercise every week.
- 42:52Speaker 1: He will, He will absolutely be doing that. Good for him.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Let's take a quick, tiny, little break and then let's
- 43:00Speaker 1: get into this episode with mister Golden Tate. But before
- 43:05Speaker 1: I take this break, I want to talk to you
- 43:06Speaker 1: about something boys. We put in the work in May.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Mother's day, right, we grind it. When she woke up
- 43:13Speaker 1: in the morning, we bade her a little bit of breakfast.
- 43:15Speaker 1: We said, he I, don't worry about the kids. We're
- 43:17Speaker 1: gonna take the kids. We're gonna up with the kids
- 43:18Speaker 1: a little bit. You go ahead, sit back in the corner.
- 43:19Speaker 1: We just have a budget on the phone. Do whatever
- 43:21Speaker 1: you want today because today is all about you. Well,
- 43:24Speaker 1: tides I found now turn and only. The thing we're
- 43:26Speaker 1: taking the most pride in this month is Bother's Day.
- 43:32Speaker 1: The merch is out. Yes, we let's get around the
- 43:34Speaker 1: boss with the merch right now. You can find that
- 43:36Speaker 1: at bwtb dot com. It is outstanding. Garrett, talk to
- 43:41Speaker 1: us about this shirt you made. Talk to us about
- 43:43Speaker 1: this shirt.
- 43:44Speaker 11: I mean, this one kind of speaks for itself. I
- 43:46Speaker 11: feel like this is a Will Compton staple. He's built
- 43:48Speaker 11: a community on Twitter for trash Day. So we had
- 43:52Speaker 11: to remind everyone out there, all the fathers out there,
- 43:55Speaker 11: don't miss trash Day.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Don't miss trash Dad.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Dad'sn't let thates forget trash Day, don't.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Do group chat with your neighborhood. Let the boys know
- 44:02Speaker 1: the night before, get it going. That shirt will remind
- 44:04Speaker 1: you to remind them. A little bust in, little buss
- 44:06Speaker 1: and calls, love the bust and call in the front.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Got dad duty, blank on the front, Dad duty on
- 44:13Speaker 4: the back.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Opposite of that that Dad duty duty on the front.
- 44:18Speaker 11: Maybe we should do one of those things.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I like that blank on the front or a blank back.
- 44:22Speaker 4: I saw thirty eight where it was blank on the
- 44:25Speaker 4: front and had the stuff in the back and I
- 44:26Speaker 4: was like, oh, that's kind of cool. So that's where
- 44:28Speaker 4: my brain went to my nice boys.
- 44:30Speaker 1: In thirty eight.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Still, we also got epic this one. It's sick.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah. This one we pulled out before the episode started
- 44:37Speaker 1: and I looked at it.
- 44:37Speaker 4: I was like, you see the dad strength is real. Boom, sweat,
- 44:42Speaker 4: tears and beers.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Uh, that's four fifteen that wolves got on his back.
- 44:46Speaker 1: That's four fifteen.
- 44:47Speaker 3: That's some light. So those of you count ship it's
- 44:49Speaker 3: something like this.
- 44:51Speaker 4: There's a bunch of other stuff. Bwtv dot com shot
- 44:54Speaker 4: up to you drop Father's Day's coming.
- 44:57Speaker 1: We got some hats too, go on your girl, dad.
- 45:05Speaker 1: And also I've had this one for a minute. Look
- 45:07Speaker 1: at you. That's got some wear and tearing it dad,
- 45:09Speaker 1: just as it's nice. Warning, right, it's like leather. It
- 45:13Speaker 1: looks better the more you wear it.
- 45:15Speaker 4: And speaking of the dad note, tell them well, we
- 45:19Speaker 4: have a new show that will be starting next week
- 45:21Speaker 4: and that podcast is called for the Dads for the Dads,
- 45:25Speaker 4: hosted by your boy Sure them will be producing in
- 45:28Speaker 4: coasting in the back and uh, dude, we're fucking excited.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I don't want to say a whole lot. I know
- 45:33Speaker 4: the trailers coming out, we'll be talking about it all

- 45:49Speaker 4: the flag for those dads. And this is not some
- 45:50Speaker 4: expert advice giving podcasts. This is just dads and fathers
- 45:54Speaker 4: building community, embracing fatherhood, embracing the love and suck because
- 45:58Speaker 4: we all know we love it a lot, but we
- 45:59Speaker 4: also know we gotta battle through the tough time, through
- 46:03Speaker 4: the trenches. And you sit there and think to yourself, why,
- 46:04Speaker 4: and though, fuck this.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I'm so glad that you brought it up there. You
- 46:07Speaker 1: brought the fact that it's not a show you go
- 46:09Speaker 1: to to get advice. Yeah, it's just showed event. It's
- 46:12Speaker 1: a show to feel it out. Hey, these good things happen,
- 46:14Speaker 1: these bad things happen, But altogether, this is what Will
- 46:17Speaker 1: Compton's been doing. Yeah, go ahead and tell me what
- 46:20Speaker 1: you've been doing. And now we can just kind of
- 46:22Speaker 1: feel this little pot luck of love and hatred and anger,
- 46:25Speaker 1: not hatred, a little bit of anger, a little bit
- 46:27Speaker 1: of back and forth. Let's just feel it.
- 46:28Speaker 4: The just pieces scattered everywhere. Ever, we're just trying to
- 46:30Speaker 4: figure out how to put it together because at the
- 46:32Speaker 4: end of the day, we don't know what the hell
- 46:33Speaker 4: we're doing. We don't all trying to figure it out.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Right, you're the dad as the first time being a
- 46:37Speaker 1: dead of a seven year old. She'll be eight soon,
- 46:39Speaker 1: first time being a debt of an eight year old.
- 46:40Speaker 1: That shit will suck, which he turns out, I'll probably cry. Actually,
- 46:42Speaker 1: if I'm gonna cry right now, let's go to our
- 46:44Speaker 1: guest golden tape.
- 46:46Speaker 4: If you want to cry, go watch alelone Stitch.
- 46:47Speaker 3: That's much.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I don't know what he up this episode to bring you. Dude,
- 46:52Speaker 1: why so are you fumbling the ball when it comes

- 48:03Speaker 1: com Forward Slash Locator to find a store near you,
- 48:07Speaker 1: easy to drink, very easy to enjoy. Let's get into it. Hey,
- 48:10Speaker 1: how are we feeling.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Ba I'm feeling great. Yes, had to be on the bus.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Yeah, a million domestic did. We were just talking right
- 48:16Speaker 1: before the show started about your gambling antics. You're getting
- 48:20Speaker 1: into it, huh yeah, talk to me about your strategy
- 48:22Speaker 1: because apparently some other sports books have like said, hey,
- 48:25Speaker 1: we got to slow you down a little bit.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been limited by a few books. That'd be
- 48:30Speaker 3: your appreciative if they unlimited me, since I invested in
- 48:33Speaker 3: the company, by the way, But uh, look, I just
- 48:37Speaker 3: I've always been a gambler. Legally, we couldn't do it
- 48:40Speaker 3: for the longest time, and now it's like the thing
- 48:42Speaker 3: to do. So I'm always trying to hammer about twenty
- 48:45Speaker 3: to thirty bets in the day. It doesn't matter if
- 48:48Speaker 3: I'm betting on college football or Asian baseball.
- 48:52Speaker 4: You'll you'll go internationally.
- 48:54Speaker 3: I'm doing it. I'm doing it, And what I'm doing
- 48:56Speaker 3: is I'm trying to find edge. And the way I
- 48:59Speaker 3: picture it is the way I see it is like,
- 49:01Speaker 3: all right, look what I'm doing is buying stocks. Say
- 49:05Speaker 3: you know what the say, We're I'm buying this bottle
- 49:09Speaker 3: you're selling. You know, you're selling to me for a dollar.
- 49:13Speaker 3: But I can go here and get it for ninety
- 49:15Speaker 3: five cents, But then I can go over there and
- 49:17Speaker 3: get it for eighty four cents. Rather I like the
- 49:19Speaker 3: water or not, the deal is finding the best deal.
- 49:23Speaker 3: And so I'm going to invest in this water not
- 49:24Speaker 3: because I love the water, but because which I actually
- 49:27Speaker 3: do love body arm, but because I love the value
- 49:29Speaker 3: that I'm getting. And so I'm finding value. And it's
- 49:32Speaker 3: like I guess they call it evvet betting, and so
- 49:35Speaker 3: over time, if you ever want to beat the books,
- 49:38Speaker 3: you gotta find value. And so I have. I have
- 49:41Speaker 3: probably ten or eleven books, like, I got all of them.
- 49:45Speaker 3: I even got to the point where I got a
- 49:46Speaker 3: different VPN to get some of the books that are
- 49:49Speaker 3: out of out of state, no shit, Yeah, which I've
- 49:54Speaker 3: stopped doing because it's probably not good to do.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Now, your guy, it sounds like you're somebody who's just
- 49:59Speaker 4: doing more straight up up like straight up bets versus
- 50:02Speaker 4: like parlays.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Parlays, in my opinion, is how you don't win.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Blasphemous.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I love a good parlay.
- 50:10Speaker 1: I mean I love a good parlay, but in the
- 50:12Speaker 1: business plus fifty five hundred parlay and just think what, Yeah,
- 50:17Speaker 1: that ship is the best eight nine legs And you're like, buddy,
- 50:20Speaker 1: I mean, if it all works out, this fifty dollars
- 50:23Speaker 1: turns into whatever this is, now, that is incredible.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, but that's just life on the edge.
- 50:28Speaker 3: I mean, if you're in the business of making money,
- 50:30Speaker 3: parlays is not how you make money. But if you
- 50:32Speaker 3: just want like a little drilling, a drilling rush, and like, man,
- 50:34Speaker 3: if you can do this, yeah, you know, just a
- 50:37Speaker 3: little bit like yes, if I pull this off, this
- 50:39Speaker 3: is legendary. But everything has to go right now.
- 50:43Speaker 4: You are mostly picking like favorites, so where you're getting
- 50:47Speaker 4: as close to like minus one hundred dollars as possible.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Yeah, preferably, Like if I'm going to go out there
- 50:53Speaker 3: and take something with a five percent evy edge, I
- 50:56Speaker 3: like it to be in. Okay, we're you know, the
- 50:59Speaker 3: best edge I'm get is minus one twenty five, But
- 51:02Speaker 3: the sharpest book in the world has them at minus
- 51:05Speaker 3: one fifty five. To me, that's like I'm hopping over
- 51:08Speaker 3: that all over that. I'm hammering that bet and hoping
- 51:12Speaker 3: it works out.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Or fall, Like when do you start jumping out?
- 51:17Speaker 4: Do you?
- 51:17Speaker 1: Because I know like professional gamblers kind of do, like
- 51:20Speaker 1: early when the fir and the lines first come out,
- 51:21Speaker 1: or like right at the end. Where do you usually
- 51:23Speaker 1: do you usually start early in the week.
- 51:26Speaker 3: I wake up every morning and I thank God for
- 51:28Speaker 3: letting me hit these feet hit the ground. And I'm
- 51:30Speaker 3: opening up the app and I'm trying to find something
- 51:33Speaker 3: that absolutely hammer and I don't care if it's damn
- 51:37Speaker 3: a chess match or Asian soccer or Indian baseball. If
- 51:43Speaker 3: I find the ad that's cricket, there it is, I'm
- 51:47Speaker 3: doing it. I'm doing it and so. But but once
- 51:49Speaker 3: the football season, to me is that was it. It's
- 51:53Speaker 3: tougher for football because there's so many variables, especially when
- 51:56Speaker 3: you get to the skill position of like wilde receivers
- 51:58Speaker 3: and stuff like I I win, but I have a
- 52:03Speaker 3: better chance of losing just because, like you know, in
- 52:06Speaker 3: order for me to be cessful on the football for
- 52:08Speaker 3: as a receiver, I need the offensive line to hold up.
- 52:10Speaker 3: I need the quarterback to deliver it dom I need
- 52:12Speaker 3: to have a good coverage that allows me to do that. Now,
- 52:15Speaker 3: I like doing the over under catches for like people
- 52:18Speaker 3: like DJ Moore or like maybe even Adam Thielend or
- 52:24Speaker 3: you know, really the like an amar Rah. Like those guys.
- 52:27Speaker 3: I know they're gonna get their screens, They're gonna get
- 52:30Speaker 3: those short routes, and then if they, you know, crack
- 52:32Speaker 3: something open, it might get something downfield.
- 52:34Speaker 4: Yeah. I love that he's got a methodology.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he's definitely DIALD. So when you're looking at NFL,
- 52:40Speaker 1: you're more of a promp bag guy over like a
- 52:42Speaker 1: team situation.
- 52:44Speaker 3: For the most part. But you know, if if Kansas
- 52:48Speaker 3: City's playing the Raiders last year at minus you know
- 52:53Speaker 3: I'm getting them at one minus one seventy five, I
- 52:56Speaker 3: might go ahead and hammer that one. Yeah.
- 52:59Speaker 1: And then when the odds that high towards the favorite,
- 53:02Speaker 1: are you betting higher to acquire more? You keep your
- 53:04Speaker 1: bets normally the same.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I've learned in order to be successful, you need to
- 53:08Speaker 3: have discipline in this sporting game. You have to have discipline.
- 53:12Speaker 3: You got to have whatever your unit size is, you
- 53:14Speaker 3: got to be consistent. But sometimes you have that gut
- 53:17Speaker 3: feeling where these boys are gonna hammer them, and so
- 53:20Speaker 3: I might not only take the win, but I might
- 53:21Speaker 3: take them I might take Kansas City at a minus
- 53:25Speaker 3: fourteen or something like that, or minus nine and a
- 53:28Speaker 3: half where I get plus two hundred odds or something
- 53:32Speaker 3: crazy like that, if I have a feeling. But for
- 53:34Speaker 3: the most part, I've learned to be really disciplined because
- 53:37Speaker 3: I've also been on the other side where I'm like, yeah,
- 53:39Speaker 3: I know football. I think they're going to you know,
- 53:41Speaker 3: the Browns are going to lose, and then Brown's got
- 53:44Speaker 3: there to win, and then I'm down five thousand dollars
- 53:48Speaker 3: and I had to risk eight thousand dollars to even
- 53:51Speaker 3: get that right.
- 53:52Speaker 1: So isn't it crazy the statement you just brought up
- 53:55Speaker 1: about I know football, so I believe this is going
- 53:58Speaker 1: to happen. When I first are doing the game or anything,
- 54:01Speaker 1: I was like, well, I understand the game more than
- 54:03Speaker 1: like ninety nine percent of the world. I'm being able
- 54:05Speaker 1: to just dice up these sports books, yep, and quickly
- 54:10Speaker 1: found out they know way more than I did. Veggas
- 54:13Speaker 1: understands the game way better than I ever could.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Vegas was built to ass Yeah, when I first started,
- 54:20Speaker 3: I was getting my head beat all the way upen.
- 54:22Speaker 3: I was frustrated, and I was starting to like what
- 54:25Speaker 3: is going on, like I know football, like this shouldn't
- 54:28Speaker 3: it's ridged or something. But then I just kind of like,
- 54:30Speaker 3: you know, got crushed and lost a lot of like
- 54:35Speaker 3: extra money that I earned in appearances. And my wife
- 54:38Speaker 3: was like, what the are you doing, dude?
- 54:40Speaker 4: Like to charge to the game, you charge of the game.
- 54:44Speaker 3: My mood's changing. And then I just like, you know what,
- 54:46Speaker 3: I'm done betting on emotions because clearly Vegas in the
- 54:50Speaker 3: books are much smarter than me, because that's why their
- 54:53Speaker 3: lights are on and mind were threatened to be off. Dude.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so fun crazy with the NFL, how like
- 55:01Speaker 1: things You just you see two teams and you know
- 55:04Speaker 1: one team's way better than the other and you're like,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I'm hammering this team and they're going to cover. Then
- 55:08Speaker 1: all of a sudden that team has like an ungodly day.
- 55:10Speaker 1: The Browns are a perfect example of that. Yep, how
- 55:12Speaker 1: they how they are they're able to do that when
- 55:14Speaker 1: you were playing? How difficult? When so let's do this?
- 55:18Speaker 1: When did you know that you love sports gambling?
- 55:21Speaker 3: I've see my dad was a gambler. My granddad was
- 55:25Speaker 3: a gambler and like pool table and like just it's
- 55:28Speaker 3: just in me. It's just in me. I'm a competitor,
- 55:30Speaker 3: and like anytime you competition, signed me up, coach. And
- 55:34Speaker 3: so I was always on the golf course gambling. I
- 55:36Speaker 3: was out in the locker room, gambling in bu rat tonk,
- 55:40Speaker 3: horn hole on the plane, pong on the plane.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Yes, an those plane flights get scared, Oh my gosh.
- 55:47Speaker 3: And I got my head beat open then when I
- 55:49Speaker 3: was young too. But anytime I could be competitive and
- 55:52Speaker 3: then throw some money on it, sign me up. And
- 55:54Speaker 3: so as soon as I got done with football, because
- 55:57Speaker 3: I was also never want to ruin my career, you know,
- 56:01Speaker 3: getting involved in that. And I've seen guys get smacked
- 56:04Speaker 3: upside the head, and so I just kind of once
- 56:06Speaker 3: I got done, I was like, all right, well here
- 56:07Speaker 3: we go. This is a way for me to watch it.
- 56:10Speaker 3: This is a way for me to be have some
- 56:11Speaker 3: skin in the game. And uh Vegas abused me for
- 56:15Speaker 3: a long time.
- 56:16Speaker 4: What's the most amount of money you've seen like gambled
- 56:20Speaker 4: and bet around in the locker room, playing like Boo
- 56:22Speaker 4: Ray and talk because being in Washington like getting the
- 56:25Speaker 4: kind of sit back and watch D'Angel hall, Trent Williams,
- 56:28Speaker 4: Brian and Rack pulling the boys just I'm talking. They'd
- 56:31Speaker 4: get off a flight talking about how they were down
- 56:34Speaker 4: like six figures and it would just blow.
- 56:36Speaker 3: My that is crazy to just irresponsible, yeah, responsible.
- 56:40Speaker 1: And then Rat we were a big gambling the times
- 56:41Speaker 1: were bag of gambling. Then Rat came over and Harry
- 56:44Speaker 1: Douglas and all of a sudden they were getting after
- 56:47Speaker 1: it every week where Harry bring like stacks like twenty
- 56:49Speaker 1: five thousand, and he did play like between meetings. I'm thinking,
- 56:55Speaker 1: I wish I would live distress free. I wish I
- 56:57Speaker 1: was able to live like that.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I've seen guys bou ray. I've seen guys have no
- 57:03Speaker 3: more cash and put their rolexes or their rightlings on
- 57:07Speaker 3: the table, damn, And I'm just like, you've lost your.
- 57:10Speaker 4: Mind after they've lost the cash that they had.
- 57:13Speaker 3: I've lost the cash and they're feeling so good or
- 57:15Speaker 3: they're so desperate that they're just like here you go. Now.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Most guys have a heart and it like, bro, no,
- 57:24Speaker 3: I'm not going to do that. Just take your watch
- 57:26Speaker 3: and we'll settle up. I'll give you a thirty deal,
- 57:31Speaker 3: you know, so instead of giving me one hundred racks,
- 57:34Speaker 3: you know, just give me forty and we'll call it
- 57:36Speaker 3: good or something.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Which is crazy.
- 57:38Speaker 4: Has it ever Have you ever experienced anything or seen
- 57:41Speaker 4: it where it's gotten to the points where it like
- 57:42Speaker 4: got physical because guys were pissed off.
- 57:46Speaker 3: No, it never got to that point because we had
- 57:52Speaker 3: some other guys are almost always managing it. And then
- 57:54Speaker 3: you can see things starting to heat up. And so
- 57:56Speaker 3: if things heat up, you started like, all right, I'm
- 57:58Speaker 3: prepared to like de escalate this real quick before it
- 58:03Speaker 3: becomes a problem. And then coaches are saying like, you
- 58:05Speaker 3: can't gamble period on the plane, you can't play any cards,
- 58:08Speaker 3: and so you know, don't mess up for everybody. But
- 58:11Speaker 3: I've seen some aggressive like hurt for words, been saying
- 58:15Speaker 3: like damn that would hurt Yeah, that would hurt me.
- 58:19Speaker 4: But we'd have guys. I think I've told this story before,
- 58:22Speaker 4: but a couple of teammates they were just gambling over
- 58:26Speaker 4: what is it. We used to play it all the
- 58:27Speaker 4: time at your house, Oh, shuffle board, shuffle board, And
- 58:30Speaker 4: they're just throwing they're just throwing one, they're just sliding one,
- 58:33Speaker 4: and they're just trying to get closest to the end,
- 58:34Speaker 4: and they just do it on one and they're betting
- 58:36Speaker 4: thousands of dollars. And it got to where this was
- 58:38Speaker 4: somebody who was like undrafted and he was taking he
- 58:42Speaker 4: was taking some money from one of the big dogs,
- 58:44Speaker 4: and the dude was so pissed off he had to
- 58:47Speaker 4: like walk the big dog. The big dog was so
- 58:49Speaker 4: pissed off he had to like walk out, and I'm
- 58:50Speaker 4: like saying, on my guys, y'all have to stop doing this.
- 58:54Speaker 4: And I'm you know, telling the dude by his name.
- 58:56Speaker 4: I'm like, bro, just just cut this loss now and
- 58:59Speaker 4: go away. And he was he was pissed off and
- 59:00Speaker 4: be like no, I'll get your fucking money. And it's
- 59:03Speaker 4: like this is post practice where everybody's going and I'm
- 59:05Speaker 4: just getting done showering, and they're just sitting there playing
- 59:07Speaker 4: shuffle board, just one at a time, trying to play
- 59:09Speaker 4: closest to the end. Yeah, to where it gets to
- 59:11Speaker 4: the point to where it's uncomfortable. My boy was Houston.
- 59:15Speaker 4: Bates was the one who was winning to where Houston
- 59:18Speaker 4: is uncomfortable still having to play because the other one
- 59:21Speaker 4: he would keep making him play so he can win
- 59:23Speaker 4: his money back. So that's and so he's like feeling
- 59:25Speaker 4: bad that he's like continuing to beat him, and you
- 59:27Speaker 4: just feel the attention everywhere.
- 59:29Speaker 1: The thing that I never understood is the way you
- 59:32Speaker 1: have to go again, because we would always have that
- 59:34Speaker 1: little mini basketball hoop in the in the locker room,
- 59:36Speaker 1: and I would just do little mid range shots and
- 59:38Speaker 1: just kind of death by a thousand cuts.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 1: And when we play pig hundred bucks whatever, yeah, and
- 59:42Speaker 1: I would win a couple of games against these guys
- 59:44Speaker 1: and they'd be like, do it again. I'm like, no,
- 59:46Speaker 1: I'm done. I won two hunred dollars. I'm gonna go
- 59:48Speaker 1: back to my locker and and they're like then for
- 59:52Speaker 1: the next four days, they're mad at me that I
- 59:53Speaker 1: didn't give them another shot, And it's like, what do
- 59:55Speaker 1: you mean? Like how long do you want this to last?
- 59:57Speaker 3: Right?
- 59:58Speaker 1: How long do you want to keep this going? There
- 59:59Speaker 1: is no feel like it's it's it's the code.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: It's the code.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I'm like, what fucking code? Like, what are we talking about?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I don't have a computer in front of me. I
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: don't the hell is going on?
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: And you just yeah, just money and I want to
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: walk away now.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: To the point where you're like maybe I should just lose,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: and it could all just be fucking done, because it
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: is crazy, how dudes will I've never seen that amount
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: of money or like whatever money you're probably talking about,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: or the one hundred thousand you're talking about. I was
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: never in that type of position, but I'd be up
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: like three fourn bucks in these little basketball games and
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: these duds are getting pissed about it, and I'm like,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I know how much money you make, what's the problem here?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: And it's and it would literally sometimes even take it
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: in the practice field where they what's good? But whatever, man,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: it's like we're about to hit a two minute drill.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: What are we mad about right now? It is crazy.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: There should be like a documentary. I think you could
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: easily make a show about the inner workings of a
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: locker room, like a sitcom type of thing, the equipment staff,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: how they operate, the player and sideline. Don't even show
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: any football, just like how everyone kind of like just
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: that ecosystem. It is just crazy to me.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: It's not We interrupt this episode to bring you Neutral
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: vodka seltzer. Have you tried Neutral? If not, you are
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: missing out. Neutral is so much better than any other
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: seltzer that I've tried. It comes in a variety of
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: flavors watermelon, pineapple, orange. I don't want to name all
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: of them, but I love all of them, so I
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: gotta keep it real with you guys, just maybe with
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: real vodka, real juice. That's what makes it delicious. They
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: also have new flavors lime and strawberry. And Neutral is
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: the perfect drink to bring when hang with fringe friends
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: because it is such a crowd pleaser, whether you're watching
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: at a bar, watching the game in the backyard and
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: the man cave with your boys, doesn't matter where you're
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: hanging out with the homies, you bring Neutral, Neutral, keep
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: it tasty. He's been part of like four different teams.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Seattle, Detroit, Philly, New York. Yeah, the Giants,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: and then the Titans rented me on practice squad for
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: like eight weeks.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: For what's the most dysfunctional locker room you've been in?
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: What year was that?
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Which? Which year? It was? Like the year after COVID maybe, yeah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: in the Yeah, the year that you guys are like
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: a one seed or two seed. You had Julio and
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: aj out. They brought me in and decided to just
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: keep me on ice for whatever reason, and that was it.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: But the most dysfunctional locker room to me was Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: And you got there the year after the Super Bowl,
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: right exactly. Yeah, he's the most dysfunctional, the.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Most dysfunctional place. Now, the fan base, you want to
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: be on their side, as we all know that, like
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: they are very passionate, their fans know their sports. But
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: inside that locker room, dog, First off, the locker room
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: for price, locker room was underwhelming. I was like, this
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: is what we got here. The food was great, but
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: we the indoor was not even a hundred yards. It
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: was like sixty or seventy yards in a bubble, and
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: we were having to practice with people from no Overcare
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: actually rehabbing who were unaffiliated with the organization, like they're
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: just people who were just getting rehabbed. It was like
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: weird to me. And we had a few incidents. We
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: had incidents. We're making a playoff push and off. It's
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: a lineman and one of the coaches got into it
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: about the game before and the lineman is like, you see,
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: this is how it's supposed to be. And the coach
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: is like, no, motherfucker, this is how it's supposed to be.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I was right last week and they're just going back
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: and forth. I'm gonna line of scrimmage and a walk through,
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: like what is going on? And Doug is just holding
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: his like little postcard with his notes with this little
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: visor on, just like god stop, it just calmed down.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: These guys keep going at and eventually one guy throws
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: the ball at the other guy and then they just
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: run each other and start fighting. I'm sitting on the
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: line of streamers like is this really happening. We're trying
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: to get to the playoffs right now.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: This is this is a coaching a player.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: This is a coach and a player. Bro.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: What was that the was that the year Carson was
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: playing and went down with the knee.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: No, that was the year before. Because Carson went down,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Nick won the Super Bowl, and then the season he
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: came in, that's when Nick he was benched.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: No, Carson was Carson had a back injury at some
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: point right around when I got there that they didn't
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: know by the way their doctors mishandled so many injuries,
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: like so many. I tell my guy, they had to
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: go to court for it.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: Practice.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, it's it's noted. I mean Chris Margoes
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: they mishandled him and he just settled with them for
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: like of a jillion dollars. But anyway, then what was
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: I saying?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: You were talking about Carson Wentz he had a backage
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: that they didn't know about.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: Start.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that was going on the playoff push and it
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: was it was a bigger deal than anyone thought it was.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: So Foles comes in and handles the show and we
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: end up pushing to the playoffs and end up getting
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: you know, put up by by New Orleans. But yeah,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: that was that was a different dynamic too. You know
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Foles and Carson, it was they tolerate each other, but
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: you can tell they were not best buds.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: It's gotta be hard man because it's like Carson he
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: was having I mean, he was like a front runner
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: for the MVP before he went he was like because
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: they were like they were like, what twelve and zero?
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: And then he goes down. They go on and win
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: the Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Nick Foles plays well,
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: there's all this talk going on because I want to say,
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: was that starting to get into the COVID. No yet,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: But people there always there are question marks around, like
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Carson's work, ethic and buying in the off season on
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: whether it's you know, hey, are you staying with us
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: to train in Philly and it sounds like that's not
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: the place you want to be at, so he might
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: be somewhere else, And then hey, who's going to be
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: the starter? He was the MVP, but you also have
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: the Super Bowl winner and just in the same room
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: of a position group where there's only like three guys
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: sitting in there, it's got to be it's got to
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: be awkward, Like you're trying to be a pro and
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: again tolerate each other, but it has to be weird
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: on like because sometimes the coaches aren't even telling you
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: what they're thinking. Yeah, so you're gonna walking in wondering
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: what's going to be happening with you because you're still
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: trying to be the best at the end of the day.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: And if coaches are kind of gray with you, that
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: it creates us unnecessary like assumptions between everybody, which probably
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: just makes it awkward.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And yeah, like the environment you talked about the fan
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: base with Philly, like they're the one of the loudest
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: fan bases when it comes to criticism. Yeah, and if
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Carson's kind of not doing what he's supposed to do.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: And Nick just took everybody the super Bowl and won
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: the Super Bowl.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: And Carson has one bad game, fans are going to
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: come off this guy any grace.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: And I can imagine being like, you know, Carson who
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: went to what North Dakota State, like one D one
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: double a school, gets picked to the top five of
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: the draft, ends up having the success he does. Then
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: all of a sudden, he like it was a diving
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: for a touchdown, right, one guy hits his style, one
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: guy hits his calf, and that's what tour it still
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: stays in, throws himself a touchdown and then he walks
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: off the field. That's a badass fucking move. But to
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: sit there and have the acl knowing what the fan
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: base of the Eagles are there, I bet you there
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: was a piece of fin that's like, hopefully they go
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: far in the playoffs, but they don't want to win
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: it though, because then it's like that main character syndrome
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: comes in, the narcissism that every football player possesses the
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: ego in a lot of ways. And then the next
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: season it's I'm sure in the off seasons already talking
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: we want Nick Nick's a guy that's gonna do it.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: This guy's damage goods. Blah blah blah. When did Carson
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: have this back injury? You say it was right before
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: you got there.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: It was like what it had to be before I
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: got there, But and it got worse and then they
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: got X rays and saw that he had something really
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: going on as either back or neck, and then he
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: was kind of out of there, which had to be
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: like because I got traded right before the deadline, like
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: literally on my off day before they call me, which
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: is what we gave. Yeah, at the time, we're playing
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: sixteen games, so probably week I don't know, ten, eleven, twelve, maybe,
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: What do you feel like it was that was creating
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: because obviously you weren't there the year before and some
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: of the stuff leading up. But when you're getting in
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: and learning about the big picture of everything, where do
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: you feel like a lot of the friction was getting created?
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Do you feel like Carson has just not back to
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: where he was full health and he just couldn't go
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: and so Nick was probably the better guy to play.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: Was there political stuff going on with Carson and Nick
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: in the front office?
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: It's gotta be such a weird thing to walk into
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: halfway through the season as well.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: It was so uncomfortable, man, And it is one of
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: the hardest things ever to get traded midseason at the
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: wide receiver position to try to figure out how I
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: can step in and be an asset to this organization,
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: like right away because the show still has to go on. Yeah,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: and I've been running slants my entire life, but the
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: way Carson wants to slant versus how Stafford or any
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: other quarterback wants to slant, it's just different. And if
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: it comes down to, like, all right, well fourth it's
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: fourth down two in the offense, who am I gonna
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: go to? I'm gonna go to the guy that I've
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: been running the slint with the whole year. Nothing against
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: your athleticism or how you run it, just like I'm
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: not completely comfortable. And that's just a difference between, you know,
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: the camaraderie that you have and the you know, the
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: bonding you have. But to me it Carson, He's a
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: young guy, you know, and obviously being drafted in the
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: first round and in the city of Philadelphia is just hard, man.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: I Mean, everybody knows there's sports and everyone has an opinion,
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: and they are not afraid to boo you. You can
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: have eleven straight good games in one bad game and
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: you're getting boomed, and so like dealing with that as
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: a young man is already enough. And you're the quarterback
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: of the You're supposed to be the face of the franchise,
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: and then this happens. Nick comes in takes you the
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: rest of away. I know, like on camera, I'm super
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: happy for the guy, but deep down thinking like, man,
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: is this the beginning of the end? How do they
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: view me? Do they even think I was a huge
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: part of the Super Bowl run? Although you know I
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: didn't take us the whole way. You just got all
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: these thoughts that pop into your head. And so you
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: know you had Carson, who was you know, after a
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: good game, he's reading to see what they're saying. But
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: after a bad game, he's reading to see you know,
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: people absolutely shit on him. And like I would walk
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: up on the bus and I just like see him
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: like kind of like to himself, I'm like, bro, it's
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: all right, bro, like just bounce back. And you had Folds,
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: who was like coming to the locker room, he spoke
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: with everybody. I wouldn't get a single pass the entire game,
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: but in the fourth quarter he'd make me think it
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: was still coming. Hey Golden, stay ready, stay ready, I'm
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: coming to you. And it just felt like car and
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: I was part of Carson's click. But it felt like
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: with Carson he had his four to five six guys
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: offense defense that he liked and he hung with and
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: that was all that mattered, right everyone else it felt like, Bro,
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: do you want to hang out with me? Or do
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: you want to have a relationship? Do you want to
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: have lunch, dinner? Can we do something together? And that's
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: kind of just the feel. But I wasn't there long enough,
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: nor did I want to even step into all that
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: and deal with that, just kind of like, man, this
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: is enough. I'm trying to figure out how to get
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: to my apartment, to the facility, what a lunch room is,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: what the playbook is, and so but it's you know,
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: that was just kind of the feel that I got.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Yeah, when you.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: When you walk on the bus and you're seeing a
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: guy slunch in the corner after a bad game, hit
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: the search bar on Twitter and they're going through just
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: you see them fighting those demons for whatever reason feeding
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: themselves that do you ever see anything to a guy
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: like Carson, you gotta just keep it moving, bro.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: You I would advise, when you have a bad game,
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: just delete the app for that week until you have
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: a good Internet demons. Boy, they are relentless dog and
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: they'll have you question like, damn, dude, maybe I shouldn't
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: be playing football.
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: Yeah, Like Bro, I would be questioned myself. This is
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: in college, just on message boards, and I would question
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: myself so much that I would have to go back
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: and watch my high school highlights just to see, dude,
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: just to see if I still had it.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: God for real?
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: Yeah yeah.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: See in college for me, like I wasn't savvy enough
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: to know about the message boards. My dad would kind
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: of talk about it because he was always on the right,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: but I never like ventured in so I lived in
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: a nice little world of just thinking I was the
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: man all the time in Michigan, and even if I
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: had a bad game, I was like, I'm gonna play
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: better next week. It don't matter. You get so you
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: get to fuck in the NFL, and it's like yeah,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: now I feel like it's where you realize like your
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: livelihood is now in question. Like if you don't play
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: well long enough, it will end for you. And in
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: college it's like, well, I have next year, I can
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: develop do this. But when you get to the NFL
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: and you start starting and you don't have a game,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: and you feel like you're on display because it is
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: the NFL, Like, dude, it sucked, and it would sucked
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: worse than having a bad game and knowing it a
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: bad game and reading it, because it's like you're just
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: validating what you already know. It's when you go and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: you have a well you believe was a good game
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: and you go to that search bar and people are like, yo,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Lawan got toasted by the guy. I'm thinking of myself,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: what the fuck are you talking about? Like you're legit
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: just mad about it for whatever reason like this, And
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: then you want to respond, you fucking with a reply button,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: You type out some nasty shit and then you hit
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: the delete, you know, like I can't let people know
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I'm the search amount.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: They make you start getting in your head on like, man,
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: I wonder if the coaches feel this way too, because
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: they're not gonna sit there and will write They're not
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: gonna write it publicly. They're going to talk to you, like, hey,
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: let's go to the next play. But then they're going
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: to be in staff meetings. You all know what goes
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: down to staff meetings, right, So all the shift festers
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: in your head and it's dangerous. It's a dangerous game
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: out there.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: We had a I had. I had a coach assistant
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: offens line coach for like pretty the whole time I
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: was at the Titans, Mike Sullivan. And anytime I ran
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: into these like insecurities of like am I fucking not
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: who I think I am? I would just go to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: him and he would tell me point blank, Hey, this
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: is what you're doing right, this is what they're saying
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: about you, this is what you need to do better.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: And he would whether it was good or bad, it was.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: He was like my little safety net for nine years,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: which was awesome to have. I mean, that was that
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: was good. Do you remember you were there in twenty eighteen, right, yeah,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. I was suspended for a PD for four games.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: The first game I came back, we played the Bills.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: After that game. There's like coaches like have like notes
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: and stuff like that they put on their iPad for
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: whatever reason. Mike Rabel's notes got leaked and that locker
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: room the next day because we were reading we were two,
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: and we were two and two, two and two, and
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: then we went two and three, so we started two
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: and three. We ended up starting to get the season
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: two and four before they mentioned Marcus. But that after
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: that game, I think it was like play three and
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: it was a Mike Rabel note says seventy seven, why
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: are we paying him this this much?
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Was like.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: And you just you got it and I didn't even
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: know about it. It was like, I think, well, Ben
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: always was in thee Dennis. Dennis knew about it, and
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: so guys were saying, like, oh, these notes are going on.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: His notes are going around, and I'm thinking, man, people
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: probably getting murdered on that. And I think one of them,
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Dennister Bench, showed me that note, and you could have
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: I could have dropped dead right there. The worst feeling
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: in the world, because I'm already suspended. I feel like
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: I've just ruined the team the season. I remember like
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: talking with the team. I can't being like I'm suspended ball.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I came out like the day before camp started, but
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: like addressing the team and all that, and then you go,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: there's all these things like Taylor's gonna save the season
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: when I come back, which was like a great compliment,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: but then my hand of like, there's no fucking way
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: a left tackle saving a season because we're two and two,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: and then it come out have like three penalties a
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: bunch of bullshit, and then I see that comment, bro, terrible.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Of the worst feelings.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Man, it was awful. Bro.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: It was a fantasy football like kind of your point,
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: like I have a good game, like where I helped
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: our team win, but in fantasy football, I didn't do
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: squat for your team, But in actuality I would have.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: I had four catch for we'll say twenty seven yards,
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: but three of those catches were four were first down
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: conversions in the fourth quarter as we're driving, so you
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: know those are that's good for us. But people are like,
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: I'm benching you. You suck, like you're so washed, and I'm.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Like, the skill players do have to deal with crazy
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: to deal with us too, because we've started.
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: Oh buddy, I'll walk around the sideline and I would
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: say like, hey, going, you know I need two more
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: out of you right now?
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Down three points?
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Know about that two screens right there that's it.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all you need. That's all you That has
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: got to be a crazy fucking thing to deal with.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: It's gnarly, man, and thankfully, like you just I also think, like, okay,
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: most of these people probably weren't watching the Detroit Lions
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: game because it probably wasn't on for one, so they
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: don't really know what they're talking about. They just see numbers.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: And if you just look at pure numbers, four for
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: twenty eight twenty seven yards ain't good unless you tutown
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: right and they're gonna cut it and then they lose
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: by point twenty five. I'm feeling like you know, but
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: part but see, it's it's a double side of the sword
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: because when we help your fantasy team, we love reading
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: about it, like yeah, we're all interacting with the comments,
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: and then when we screw your fantasy team, you think
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: I care about your fantasy team team, like we contradicting
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: each other.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Dude, I remember, like was it Todd Gurley he was?
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: I mean, this is always like a strategic thing, but
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: like him stopping like you're in a four minute type
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: of situation and they the defense lets you score, and
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: he would stop on like the one yard line and
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: fantasy players across the board would be so mad at Todd.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: And I'm pretty sure Todd had a little tweet that
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: came out. I was like, fuck your fantasy team, just
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: like sent that into the universe and it was like, Yo,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Todd's a fucking gangster for that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you are are his I'm.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: So bummed for guys like him because that's a that's
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: a light that shines so bright but went out so quickly.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I remember playing him in like Twin.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: It is funny what he's ever seen you in public?
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: Were fist fighting over your fantasy football performance this year
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: and Todd Gurley pull up there. There was a receiver
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: teammate that was showing me his d MS, and the
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: receiver teammate was essentially threatening this dude's life, saying he
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: will go to his house and kill him. No ship
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: ye talking about you play.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: I don't know you're that on.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: No, but that ship is up.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: If I've had people pop into my DMS, I've even
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: had him do it on my like timeline, like Hey,
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: I hope your mom gets raped and I hope you
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: get to watch your sisters get killed.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: And I'm like God over a fantasy performance.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: Yes, Like I'm like, dude, you had to come find
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: you don't even follow me, You had to come search
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: my name. Then you had to type it all out
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: and make sure grammatically it was probably correct, and you
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: still chose to hit sin. You got to have a
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: different type of You got to be bad for a
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: long time versus fantasy team bub. You got some stuff,
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: some dems you need to address at home.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: Yeah, people will get that way too, because you can
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: make you know, everybody can like have a burner get
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: behind your profile is just like not real, Yeah, I
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: mean like you don't know who the person is.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: You ever thought about creating like a little burner profile
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: and just firing back at the little dickheads and come in?
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: I think Will's got like three or four Yeah, will
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: confidence bulge Little confidence bulges out there? Man, what other one?
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: Any pro Will Compton ones? You can probably they're They're
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: easy to find.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: I thought it could be fun, but just to clear
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: the air, I do not have a burner. I'm just
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: letting people know.
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: Certain occasions and I was probably close to doing it,
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: but then I knew myself, I'm gonna slip up and
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: I'm gonna send a I'm gonna send one from my
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: actual count.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: Right, do it?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: That is crazy?
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: That I mean the burner thing. We got a guy
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that works for us. He's bigger the burner game, big
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: into the burner game. But he'll go on his burners
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: and have arguments with himself. He'll go, he'll tweet something
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: from his and then his burner will come in and
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: say something. Then he'll say something back. There is there's
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Will Compton right there.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: Coon's bulls. I want to say, is that the one
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: that got creative? When we were all together and I
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: was trying to figure out who it was because you
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: guys were talking about burners earlier in the day and
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: I was hell bent at one of these dudes.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Was one of our boys?
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: Yeah, because they were talking about a burner early in
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: the day and then later that night where we get
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: we get snacks from a gas station. We're all sitting
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: around chilling, I think, watching a movie or something. Then
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: Will Compton's bulge pops up, and I'm thinking, which one
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: of you motherfucker's creating?
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Doggy, the internet is an unruly place.
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: Did uh getting traded to Philly? Did you have any
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: idea that that trade was coming from Detroit.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: No, yeah, what's that process? Like, bro, Yeah, because we
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: got to get into your career. You had a hell
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: of a career.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: Bout it. Thank you, thank you. So check me out.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: So it's like a Monday or something, or maybe even
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: a Tuesday. Actually, let's go rewind. Friday before game, they
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: offered me a deal, which was a low ball deal,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: and it's like the second off firm. Like I respectfully declined.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: I think I'm more valuable than that. Look what I've done.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: I haven't missed any games. I've been in the community
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: like I've had several thousand.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: And leading up to this point. You're in a good
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: relationship with Detroit.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: Absolutely absolutely, and then they're hold on to that. But
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: he's about to be thirty. But I haven't played like
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: a thirty year old, not once I've been on the field.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: I hadn' missed the game in six seven years. So
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: they offered me the deal on Friday. I don't accept it.
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: I go play on Sunday and I have a pretty
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: decent game. I believe I come back on a Monday
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: or Tuesday. I met the doctor's appointment and I see
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: Bob Quinn on my phone. I'm like, hey, what's up.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, you're gonna offer me something good. It
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: must be so good that he wanted to call and
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: tell me what it was himself before my age got
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: to me. Hey, Bob Quinn or Quinn, Hey, hey Golden,
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: how you doing. I'm good. Just leaving the doctors appointment.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: I was just calling to like, let you know that
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: we've decided to trade you to the Philadelphia Eagles, and
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: you know, we're just super grateful for what you did
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: for us and just wanted to kind of make sure
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: it's okay. What and I said, uh, okay, thank you
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: for everything. Not knowing what to say, I'm in shock,
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: and so I hang up the phone. I'm just like
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: my first thing was like, let's go. I'm going to
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: the Philadelphia Eagles and just won the Super Bowl last year, Like,
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: you know, our record Detroit wise is crappy. Anyway, I'm
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: gonna go with over there, ball out, get paid again.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Let's go. But then as I think about it, damn, dude,
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: I gotta be on a plane tonight. I gotta go
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: figure out when I'm aware. Tonight, I gotta hop on
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: a plane to do a presser. I gotta dive right
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: into the playbook. I gotta figure out where I'm where
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: I'm gonna live. I gotta pack up this house. I
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: gotta learn a whole new offense. I gotta learn my teammates.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: I gotta learn how to get to the facility, how
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: to get to Lincoln Financial. This is overwhelming. I'm not
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: and I don't even get a chance to say bye,
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Like I don't get to go into the locker room
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: and say what Staff and Kenny and Joy and all
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: the homies and like, bro, they just traded me. And
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: so I did do this. I did drop my own trade.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: I dropped it myself and not you know, Sheefard didn't
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: get the it's been real Detroit flag was fly or
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: something like that. But you know, I went from excited
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: to like, dang, what's what's really about to happen? Now?
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Like I've been here for four and a half years
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: and I thought maybe I was want to spend the
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: rest of my career here, And yeah, we were dog
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: shit right now record wise, but these are my boys
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: and I'm just brand new. Just like bye, tomorrow you're
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: in you know, you're the pressor tonight tomorrow you're getting
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: your playbook, you're doing physicals, and then boom, it's just
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: like it was over. It was over, so like I
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: remember just being like, man, how do you guys do this?
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: And then even like I got I got lucky because
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: they played the London game that Sunday and so they
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: had the week off right, so I got the bye
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: week right then and there, which was nice. So I
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: got more time to study.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: The already have a bye week, Yes, I got two weeks, I.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: Think, yeah, And so you know, and so I get
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: on I get on side, get the playbook, and now
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, here we go. Never dealt with
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: this before because I've been four years of Detroit sorry,
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: four years with Seattle and then four and a half.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: That's all. I hadn't had to bounce around and do
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: that midseason jump. Man, it is so hard because the
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: show has to go on. Like it's not like you
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: get to run these reps over and over, and it's
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: not like you're starting quarterback wants to stay after practice
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: the middle of the season and just keep banging balls
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: just so you can get the feel. And so it's
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: like I had to try to figure it out and.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: No chance to really process emotions either.
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: Because no, right, and then so it was it was
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: just a lot. It was a lot. It was a lot.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: I mean to put it in like terms of like
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: other jobs, like can you imagine just showing up you know,
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: we'll just use showing up here. This is where the
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: studio is, this is where you guys do it. And
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: then tomorrow someone tells you, hey, thank you for everything.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: We're shipping you guys off to Wisconsin to do the
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: show and you'll figure it out and thank you. Just
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: just boom like that and you're working tomorrow.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: Ye give me think Yes in Wisconsin, Karrett, we appreciate
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: everything you've done.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we just trade you to the pivot.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: You got a pressor tonight you'll be all in, all
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: ends on deck tomorrow.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Did you ask the gam what what they got for you?
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Because I feel like that's where kind of the ego
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: can kind of rest and be like, Okay, they got
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: a third for me, that's solid.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: They got a conditional third, I think.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Or how what does a condition?
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: I don't know. I guess if you play x amount
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: of snaps or produce x amount, you get it, and
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: if you don't, you don't. I never I didn't look
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: into it. Yeah, my plate was full. I had like
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: a ten month old, my daughter, my first born, and
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: then my wife was pregnant with our second, and so
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: it was just a lot. I was trying to just
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: get by day to day.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, what it was a process Like for your family,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: did they stay in Detroit and then you went and
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: finish out the season in Philly.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: My wife is a psycho in the and I mean
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: that in the best way possible. My wife, with a
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: ten month old and I don't know, seven months pregnant,
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: packed up that whole house in Detroit and we put
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: all of our stuff in storage, shipped whatever we want
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: to ship to and like she's a superhero. I couldn't
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Like that was just my life. Saw I looked at
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: her like the first time dealing with it, Like that's
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: just what people do. But now that I got three kids,
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: I've seen a bunch of people be pregnant, Like why
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: just like disappear for like a bunch of years when
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: they're having kids. Yeah, my wife was still on playing,
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: My wife was still coming to games. My wife was
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: packing up the house. She was still like you know,
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: she was probably like couldn't sleep at night. Because you
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: can't even move, but she was still getting done, and
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: I was like, I did not appreciate her way I
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: should have back then.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: And so I don't think any of us really appreciate
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: that type of stuff because we're also self absorbed in
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: our career of the NFL. Oh yeah, Like it's a
- 1:27:21Speaker 4: dream we've had since we were little. We're living our career.
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: We think everything around our world, relationships, everything should kind
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: of be catered around us because we get to play
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: in the NFL. But when you get out of it
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: and you're around motherhood and being a parent and trying
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: to be intentional, you see all the shit that goes
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: into it to where it's like you you end up
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: having a different appreciation for it because you're so consumed
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: by the career when you're in it, and then when
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: you get out of it, you kind of it's like
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: a completely different perspective.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I mean you didn't have a case
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: still after the NFL, but like you did. It Really
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: is that, like you're so absorbed and what you have
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: going on in your own life that a lot of
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: times it's like love to do this, honey, but I
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: have to go train for X Y and Z. I
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: have to go to practice, I have to stay up
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: late and watch this film and those types of things
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: and a lot of In a lot of ways, your
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: kids when they're that young, take a back seat because
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: of how much you're involved in because it doesn't last forever.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: It's got to be you know, you've got to make
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: the most of it because when it's over. I mean,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: there's nothing worse than sitting back, I'm assuming sitting back
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: and like looking at your career and being like I
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: wish I did more. Yeah, you know, I wish I
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: was more involved or took it more seriously or any
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: of that stuff. Because there's a lot of guys out
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: there that still can't get over the fact that they're
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: not in the league anymore.
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: That ship breaking news. Frank ragnow of the Lions, has
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: officially retired. Shit Frank minutes ago, he posts on Instagram.
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: So he's he's done.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: No ship, Yeah, Frank. Hell of a career, Frankie.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: Yeah out of Arkansas, right, Yeah, I don't know where
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: he was.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's had he's kind of had some injuries. Yeah,
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: he's he's a dog.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: He is a hell of a player. He was on
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: bustle with the boys early during COVID times. Yeah, gotta
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: get him back on. Yeah, lots of free time.
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I've tried to convince myself that I'm feeling good,
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: but I'm not, and it's time to prioritize my health
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: and my family's future. Good for everything.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Damn had to because I know when we were there
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: last year in camp, he was dealing with a couple
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: of things. Yeah, and he got hurt early in the
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: year because he said, yeah, you get a big toe.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: OUCHI I got.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: I got arthritis in both of my big toes.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: Dude, No Ship, Yes, I think it's a big skill
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: position thing.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Getting tackled from behind because no one can catch me
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: and like just being tackled and your just foot's always
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: like this, it's over and over. So like I get arthritis.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: I got like permanent turf toe. Probably I get up
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: every morning, I'm like I have to pop it and
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: stuff Like, No Ship is pain every single morning, every
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: single morning. But like that's what football is. Like, that's
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: all I know. Like on days I on days that
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: I feel good, I'm like I'm not doing something right right,
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: and it's it's kind of messed up and so like,
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: I don't even know what it feels like to feel
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: good every day.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: There's a weird thing. There was a weird thing for me,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: at least. I don't know if you feel this way.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: But when I would get to camp, it's the best
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: I felt off of the air.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: You get over the off season, you're get in really
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: good shape. You got yourself in nice ten. The body
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: feels fantastic, You're in great condition, you're safe. You do
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: the conditioning test, and then the first couple of days
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: of practice you just feel off because you feel too good.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: And then once I would like feel like shit a
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: little bit, get a little more grumpy, a little more
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: sleep deprived. That's when I was like, Okay, now I'm
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: in football. Now I can get that caloust on a
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: little bit. The headache starting to go away, But the
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: rest of my shoulder hurts a little bit. When I
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: wake up, knees hurting. This is hurting. That's when I
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: feel like, ok Now I can operate as a football player.
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: Yees special heavy with my legs heavy. This is what
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: football feels.
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: First, the first two days, I'm excited to go to
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: seven olds, having in one on ones. I'm I'm like
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: a gazill bouncing around, and then day three hits, I'm like, ship.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: It's really that first week of pads, that first week
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: of you can get. Once you get through that, it's
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: like Cam ready, Cam, I'm starting to feel like.
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: The next is to just wearing a helmet around and running.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because really that dude, you your brain, your head
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: forgets wearing a helmet six months, but you'll be training
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: all off season.
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: But like.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: All all the turns and everything towels. Yeah, yeah, always.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: But as soon as you get like a weekend, you're like,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: all right, I feel solid. Being a little bit hurts
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: kind of like yeah, the way you know you're ready.
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: Yeah, who's uh? Who's a receiver that you coming up?
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: You wanted to mimic your game after I had, because
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: you're like a scrappy, tough, fast, You're like all the stuff,
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: not too tall, not you know, like when I watch
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: your game, it reminds me of a lot of like
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: a like a Pierre gar soone, like a very physical receiver.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: Yeah, like young Will Compton in high school.
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: Yeah, young.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: The best way to put it, yeah, yeah, it's the
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: best way to put it.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: I was look Percy Harvin. I just loved his game.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: I mean, he was only a little bit older than me.
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: But then you went to Hines Ward and Steve Smith.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: I knew those dudes. Those zuos weren't giants, but they
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: were tough as nails and they were going to be
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: out there on the field and they were going to
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: make Like unless you met those guys, you would have
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: thought they were like six one six y two. They
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: played bigger than their size, and I knew that. Look,
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: I don't have like the four to two speed. I'm fast,
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: but not fast like that. I'm not six to one
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: with you know, this wing span of six and a
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: half feet, and so I just kind of had to
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: like find my way. And my way was going to
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: be like I'm going to catch anything that comes my way, contested,
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: wide open, I'm going to catch the ball. And once
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: I get the ball, I am no longer a receiver.
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: I am a running back. And so I'm gonna treat
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: like my first catch my last catch. I'm gonna treat
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: them all like they're my last cat. Like I'm trying
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: to score every single time I touched the ball. I
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: didn't go out of bounds until you know I got
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: the giants when we're like two and a hundred.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: Tell when business made most sense?
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: YEA, yeah, it's not doing anything. So like I just
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: I played the game like, man, I gotta I gotta
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: separate myself. And I've always been a person like how
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: do you separate yourself from everybody else's doing it? And
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: to me, breaking tackles yards after to catch that was
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: my thing.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: When you, uh, how did you become and get to
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: that realization of like being that aware of yourself and
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: who you were as a player. Because a lot of
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: kids when they're in high school, they feel like they're
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: the tallest, the strongest, the fastest, and even if it's delusional,
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: they still feel that way. What was like a realization
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: for you to be like, this is how I need
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: to operate to be this successful.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: It never was or I never realized that. I just
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: showed up every day trying to like every single time
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: I just touched the ball try to score with it.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: And I was always I always looked at angles, like
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: I knew that I was not probably going to to
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: just outrun someone on the football field holding the ball,
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: so I would look for angles. I tried to find
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: angles and then I just I kind of mastered that,
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: I would say I had. I took a lot of
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: pride in my lower body strength. I knew that I
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: needed to try my best not to get tackled by
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: one guy. Ever, it needed to take three four guys.
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: And I also look AJ you know AJ Brown and
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: or AJ Green and Julio. Those guys can go down
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: the field and make those plays. But I can get
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: there by you throw me a higher percentage pass and
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: I'll figure my way to get to the same destination
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: and make it probably look a little bit cooler, you know,
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: making guys miss and breaking tackle. So that was just
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: kind of my game, and just I never really even
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: thought about it. I was just always looking for what's next?
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: What is more? Like in high school, it was like,
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: all right, I'm playing high school. Can I play college?
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: All right, Well, I had an opportunity to play college. Well,
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: now playing college, can I win the Heisman or get
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: the blatantkoff? Which I ended up getting the blittantk cough
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: the only one in Notre d in history so far? Okay,
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: well I did that. Well, Now can I play NFL football? Yes,
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: I'm drafting the second round Okay, can I help my
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: team win a Super Bowl? Can I go to the
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: Pro Bowls? Can I be known, you know, make myself
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: a household name. I had an opportunity to do all
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: of those things, and so I just kept trying to
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: find out what's next, What's next? What's next? All right?
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: Can I play a decade? Yeah? Played a decade? All right? Well?
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Can I get to fifteen years? Well? I got to eleven,
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: and you know that was kind of it. But I
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: was always fighting for something I wanted more.
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: What was it like playing in Seattle? I mean you
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: you played on a fucking loaded roster, loaded roster.
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: Boom man, Seattle was so much fun. Man, Being a
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: young kid out of Notre Dame, out of the Midwest,
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: being shipped to the Pacific Northwest, didn't even know where
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: it was on the map, and getting there, having Pete
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: Carroll who just left SC and like, yeah, just a
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: fun players coach. Everything's competitive, That's what I am. Competitive.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: My We're working up in the morning and meetings, having
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: free throw contest contests and auditorium everything is competition. I
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: loved it. We're having special guests like Will Ferrell come
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: to us, Rob Regular or whatever name, Who's pow Jay
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: Rice coming. I mean just having all these people come
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: in the tech boom is in the middle of the
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: tech boom, Microsoft and Costco and uh, all these Twitter
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: and all these people are in Seattle. They love their sports.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: They absolutely love their sports. I don't care if it
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: was baseball or a football game. They're sold out. And
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: so we were. I was there at a great time,
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: and so being a part of the one and only
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Super Bowl that they won was special. And then like
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: the personnel we had, dude, come on, the personality Richard Sherman,
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: Cam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Chris Clemens, Red Bryant, uh uh,
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: Bobby Wagner, right, Randon Browner. Then in an offense union
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: you had me, Russell Duck, Angry Duck Baldwin, Jermaine Curse,
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: Mark money Lynch. I mean we had a time every
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: time we stepped on the field, and then we even
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: we enjoyed it afterwards. Bro, I mean coach Coach Carroll's always, hey,
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: don't make ship up. Whatever your routine is, do it.
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: And my routine I was going out every Friday night,
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: period and if I didn't go out, I feel like
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: I was gonna have a bad game.
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: No ship, Yes, go out get saut Friday night before
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: a game.
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: Go out, get saut so so bad that I'm showing
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: up to the next day walk through that I can still.
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: I can smell it for one and I'm still I'm
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: still a little bit shaky. But I'm young. I'm young.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: I can get out. I can I'm young. So you know,
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: me and my girlfriend at the time, my wife, now,
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: we were we're getting after baby. Wee can after we
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: not we're not making anything up. Coach Carrol didn't go
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: out there ball out on a Sunday Sunday night. We're
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: going out to celebrate then, O my god.
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: Yeah, but I was animal.
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: I couldn't do it now or you know, I couldn't
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: do it. You know, die four years ago.
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: Die.
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: It takes me five days just to feel decent.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, bro like that. That's Seattle, that time
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: in Seattle. Pete Carroll. Every person I've ever talked to
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: about Pete is like one of the best coaches they've
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: ever had, the most fun coaches to be around. We
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: had clay On he was talking about it. I went
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: to a junior camp at USC and I was I
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: met him I loved usc. I was all about it.
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: Went to shake his hand, slaps my hand out of
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: the way. It gives me a big hug. The minute
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: he hugged me, I was like, offer me for the
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: love of God, I swear to God, will commit right now. Yes,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: and they didn't. But it was like just being around
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: that guy for a short amount of time and then
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: hearing everybody talk about him the way he is. He
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: has to be, so we maybe number one, do you
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: think he'll be successful in the Raiders?
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: They'll be better than they have been, for sure, without
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: a doubt. It's just, man, look what you got to
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: go against. You got to go against some Hall of
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: Fame coaches and players. You got to see o Andy
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: and Pat twice a year. Hardballs turned that place around too.
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: Herbert's a good quarterback. Mayden and Bownicks. Bownicks you know
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: they coming. And so it ain't like it when you
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: was in Seattle. You know, we had the forty nine
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: ers deal with and the other two teams were kind
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: of whatever. You know whatever, Man, that whole division is strong.
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: Yeah you're and by the way, you're in Las Vegas, Okay,
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: you're in Las Vegas. A twenty two year old just
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: gave a.
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: Fifty back to would you have survived in Vegas if
- 1:39:51Speaker 4: that's where you got drafted?
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: I mean it sounds like no, I'm the same way
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: I would have made it.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: I'm so great grateful that God put me in Seattle
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: where there was something to do. There's enough to do,
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: Like I would have gone crazy going to like Appleton,
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: Wisconsin or something.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: I mean, what's the difference with that in South in Indiana?
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: Well, I was, you know, there's not much, but but look,
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: I didn't have no money back then. True, I had
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: no money, and you had. You had a whole school
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: full of people that loved you. Appleton. You know, I wouldn't.
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: I would have been I would have had more money
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: because I had nowhere to spend it. Yeah, state restaurant,
- 1:40:27Speaker 3: that's about it, or maybe some booths and talking.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: So I'm grateful that I went to Seattle when I
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: went there, because if I'd have went to New York
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: or probably even Arizona or Vegas. I guess they didn't
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: have Vegas. They wouldn't. It would have been some missues probably.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: I mean even here, dude.
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: Yeah, in front of you too.
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, dude getting drafted here and then learning about Broadway,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: and then I didn't really know about Tennessee, and then
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: I got judged by Tennessee. Then everyone I knew was
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: a massive fan of coming to Tennessee. Apparently, just being
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: down on Broadway the first six months, it's just like, Yo,
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: this is a magical place. This is unbelievable. Just get
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: ship faced. People are so proud of you for throwing
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: up in the alley and not in the bar.
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: Good for you, man.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: You're a real pro at this, aren't you. So I
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: remember being hammered by first fourth of July and they
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: had this big party going on, and I'm stumbling behind
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: like where the rhymen is, stumbling behind those those first
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: set of bars and behind this. I don't know if
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: it was it was Tootsies. Some dude opens he goes, hey,
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: your tailor of one? Right. I was like kind of
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: like stones, like, hey, it goes kid rocks up here,
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: about to do a little concert if you want to
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: come up. So I like stumble my way up there.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: I'm just sitting there watching fucking the American badass get
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: after it. Hammered on fourth of July. I'm like this
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: is How can you fucking go anywhere else?
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: I feel so American being hammered right off Buddy Lights
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: watching kid Rock.
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: I mean, for July.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: Can you beat it pure?
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: You can't know, you can't.
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: It's fucking unbelievable, unbelievable.
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: You ever go to Printer's Alley when it was yeah,
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: a couple of time. Yeah, I used to go there
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: were growing up, used to hang out at. I was
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: the mumbroom guy. Yeah, Like I used to go to
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: Tin Roof. I come back after college early in my years,
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: and I stayed at It was called the Rhythm. It
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: was like the condo literally right next to Yeah. I
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: don't know what it is now, but I remember them
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: trying to sell me this eight hundred and five square
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: foot place for like three hundred and seventy five thousand dollars.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: I was like, Nope, not happening. Now I look back,
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: I wish I would have done it, but I remember
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: I rented it for a little bit. I used to
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: look down to Tin Roof on a Wednesday, Thursday, Monday.
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: Do that matter? Okay, I see a few homies out there,
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: I go on down go have a few. I don't know,
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: let's see I was doing vodka and cranberries back then.
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: Nice found a few of those on a Monday. See
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: what happens. Go down to the next bar, maybe go
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: over to midtown Winters Losers, Yes, I love is that
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: where the bushwhackers are?
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: Bushwackers are there? Yep, they have the bushwhackers there. But
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: I think, uh, another place in Demomity does the bushwhackers
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: as well. I can't remember right now, but.
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: Yes, Losers has Virago.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Get the little steak on the hot rock. Sit there.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: You're really living. You're really living when you come to
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: a place like this. Then you think about those guys
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: in Wisconsin and you're just like, man, what the fuck
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: do they do of that?
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: I remember almost getting drafted by the Lions, thinking of myself,
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: Please God, don't take me, because the Lions were just
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: historically about that are the lines with no one love now?
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: But I spent four years in Michigan. I was ready
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: to get out and see the rest of the world.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: When Tennessee happened on my Southwest flight there my first day. God,

- 1:44:30Speaker 1: that's cash App. Let's get back to the episode. Well
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: you were you surprised your second round pick being a
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: blatant akough winner first one and noted at a prestigious
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: blue chip university like Notre Dame.
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: You know, I believed in myself and I thought at
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: that time I should have been a first rounder, but
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: I knew everyone was. Mel Kiper was all you know,
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: all those guys were saying, hey, he's a late first round,
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: early second. So I thought somewhere between twenty eight and
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: I guess thirty eight was my sweet spot. I felt
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: like I was willing to bet whatever I was gonna
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: go there. And the reason was because well, they had
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: said that for one and two Kansasity Chiefs had two
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: picks in the first like six or seven picks of
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: the second round. That's where Charlie Weiss went literally left
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: the same time he got fired. He went to Kansas
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: City and I had a meetings with them, and they
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: were telling me. He was telling, hey, I'm gonna make
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: a push to get you. I'm get you. And so
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: you know, I get to you know, I get past
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: day one and I'm not no biggie, I'm going to
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: first six, seven, eight picks. Day two. We're gonna get
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: this thing. Party started. And they picked Dexter mccluster from
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: Ole Miss and it was like a slap in my
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: face because I mean, we're similar enough players, right, I
- 1:45:48Speaker 3: mean he's a smaller guy, you know, receiver, kind of
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: higherbrid and they went with Dexter mccluster, and I was like,
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: what in the actual just happened? And so I sit
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: there thinking I'm going to first eight picks, and I
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: sit this. I went sixtieth overall, and so that's like
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: the majority of the second round. And I'm just sitting
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: over at the Millennium Hotel or whatever or wherever we were,
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: and I'm just like all my homies around, you know,
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: everyone's like looking around, like thankful I didn't get a
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: prank call like sure Der Sanders yet, because I'd even
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: lost my stuff. And finally I get this call. I
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: don't know, it's either four or five or two o
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: five or four two five or two o six number,
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: and I'm like, who is this telemarket or something? And
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: they call me and he's like, hey, Golden, this is
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: Pete Carroll. I'm like, but don't you coach at USC.
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: I didn't even know he accepted the job at this point,
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: and you know, I just I remember you torturing us
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: and tearing us up, and I figure, I don't want
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: to go against you anymore. I want you on our team,
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: and so we're going to take you with that next pick.
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, this is awesome. Where where is Washington?
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: Is that DC?
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: No? Washington State?
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: Way over there? The farthest way we can get away
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: from home is that's where you're going. But you know,
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: they took a chance on me, and it was the
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: best thing that could ever happen. If I can do
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: it all over again, I will go exactly where I went,
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: at the exact position I went, and wouldn't change your things.
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: What happened when your contract came up with the with
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: Seattle and you're going to free agency and signed with Detroit?
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: Like we were you dealing with with Seattle? Did they
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: offer you? Why do you feel like it didn't work
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: out for like a second deal with them?
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: They they gave me a deal that was some BS
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: laughable deals what I called it back then. But this
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: is my first time going through it. I never even
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: heard what the deal was. It's just my agent was like, yeah,
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: I'm not eve gonna waste your time with this, and
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: we said no. And then Detroit comes in and offers
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: like a five for thirty four thirty six. I was like, Yeah,
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: let's do it. They got Matthew Stafford, who's a heck
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: of a player. They got Megatron, who's so I'm gonna
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: get fed. I'm gonna be seeing twos and threes you know,
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: cornerbacks where he's getting double on triple covered. I'm gonna
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: just sit on the backside and eat him, eat him apart,
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: and which is what happened. But ultimately, going back to
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: the Seattle thing, they had just paid Percy Harvin. They
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: gave him a sixty bag that same free agency, the
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: one before, the one before, and it was on my mind, like, man,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: y'all really gonna pay this dude, Like we're similar enough.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: Like so many you look he looked up to before.
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: Right right, and you know, he's explosive, fast, quick all
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: the same time, Like I've seen guys who have two
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: or three, but he was fast, quick and explosive, and
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: I was like, it was just like fun watching him.
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: But he only played like two games that season. And
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: so then I'm like, all right, well, maybe they're gonna
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: go ahead and pay me because he's injury prone and
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: blah blah blah all over the same people, and they
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: chose him over me ultimately, and so I go my
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: step away and end up cutting him or trading him
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: away the second year of his contract.
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: No shit, Yeah, dude, was he in it issue in
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: the locker room. I've heard different stories and as matter
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: of fact, he told a story on what is the guy?
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: What is the show? I hate with the pool table
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: and yeah, bleacher report Master, shut up the boy master.
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: But he was talking about you guys getting in like
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: an altercation. I want to say, we had uh John
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: Johnson on our team in Washington. Yes, he spoke about
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: a vagas. It sounded like something happened either the week
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: or the day before the Super Bowl. Yes, you and Percy.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: Yes, yes, let's get into the juices boys, let me
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: readjust this, Mike, come on, let me go all right.
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: So all right, so first off, Percy, Percy's a different guy. Okay,
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: he's a different guy, and something goes off in his
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: mind and once he makes his decision, ain't no going back.
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: So as long as you still on his good side,
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: you're chilling. He's awesome. But the moment you get on
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: his backside, there's no getting back to the other side.
- 1:49:55Speaker 3: And so going to Super Bowl. We get to the
- 1:49:58Speaker 3: Super Bowl and you know, you get all the media, Yeah,
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: and they're asking these questions and they asked all of us,
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: the receivers, and they asked me and say, hey, so
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: what does it mean to have Percy Harvin back or
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: some along that line. I was like, you know what,
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: I love Percy's game. I think he's awesome. But the
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: truth of matter, we hadn't had Percy the entire year,
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: and we made it this far. We can't wait to
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: get him out there because he's definitely gonna make us
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: even better. But look, we've we've we've done it without him.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: We're we're fine. And at some point he read the article.
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: Someone read the article and told him the bullet points
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: and he took huge offense to it. And at the
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: time I didn't know this. So we show up on
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: a Saturday before the game on Sunday and I'm just
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: the day before, yes, bro, and I'm just saying, what's up, Percy,
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: what's up Sid all my homies, and Percy just kind
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: of got this look on us. He just got this
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: look like like I'm just not having a good day.
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: I'm like, Bro, you're good, he said, I'm cool, I'm cool.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: Just just give me some give me some time, all right.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: So we go through meeting and you know, walk throughs
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: or whatever it is, and then I go to my Percy. Bro,
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: I have no clue person, you straight, bro, like we
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: got the biggest game of our life tomorrow, Like, let's
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: you good? Can I can I help you? Like you
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: want to talk? No, bro, I'm not feeling.
- 1:51:17Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: So now I'm starting to ask, like, dude, what is
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: going on with Percy? Like is he straight? I go
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: to talk to Citney Rights, who's his boy from Minnesota.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: They're best friends, bestc boys, and you know, he kind
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: of tells me like, hey, there's some article out that
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: he read, blah blah blah blah, and I don't even
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: have time to go look it up. So finally I
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: go back up to Percy. He's sitting He's sitting just
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: like this in front of his locker, and I get
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: like loaded. I get loaded the ground like this, like hey, Percy, brouh,
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: Like what's going on? Like let's just let's just chop
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: it up, talk to it. He's like bruh, And he says,
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: you don't get the fuck up at my face? And
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: I just said, all right, fuck it, and I just
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: turn around and start walking other way, and next thing
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: you know, boom tackles me from behind. And I guess
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: apparently I ended up in a clothes hamper, but I
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: don't know. But he taxed me from.
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: Behind the equipment bend.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like yeah, well, I got Jock Stot. He tackles
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: me in his head. It's like right here, and I
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: don't even know what's going on, but I let him.
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: My shoulder jacked up my neck and I just got
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: him here and I just started trying to punch him.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: I don't know if I punched him or connected or
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: anything at all, but I was kind of holding him.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: They pulled us apart. Pete Carroll, Josh Schneider, the GM
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: talked to me like what what what happened? And so
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: I tell him like what happened? And you know, they
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: deemed that I'm not the issue they select. They separate us,
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: and we go separated that day. We showed up the
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: next morning for the Super Bowl, and Percy acts like
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: nothing had ever even happened.
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: No shit, what's up? GT? Like, how you doing? Brother?
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: We're to get him? Like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: let's let's just do this. I'm not about to do
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: this here right now. It's the biggest game of my life.
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: And so we play the game. You know, he takes
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: one to the house, We blow Denver out the water,
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: We go get after it. And rafter the game, he's
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: just like, gg I love you, bro, like my bad,
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: you know, I love you, just acting like nothing happened.
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: Like I'm like, well, we go to have a conversation.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: I don't have to be a dable. We got to
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: have a conversation at some point, big dog.
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: And so because you probably want to tell him like, hey,
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry if it
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: came off that way.
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: Not at this point, you didn't. You didn't tackle me
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: and beat me up. I'm like, sugarcoat bullshit. Now I'm like, bro,
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: that's I'm just gonna keep it the buck. At this point.
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: The being civil part was like leading up to that,
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: and now I might be like, bro, what's what's what's happening?
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: But anyway, so we go through that whole part and
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: we I'm just like not controversial. So I'm like all right, whatever,
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: like but something right. We go. I go to Detroit,
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: we go to Seattle, We mee at the White House again.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: Gold?
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: Like, man, miss you?
- 1:53:58Speaker 8: Bro?
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: Like we missing out here. Bro, it ain't the same
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: without you. I'm just like yeah, and I go myself away.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: And then referring to what mastro what's his name the
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: with the pool table?
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, master, whatever it is whatever.
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: So then yeah, so then I hear about that, and
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: then it's all about like he paints a picture like
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: there was jealousy involved with him, and I was like,
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: not even a little bit, Bob, Like I can't imagine
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: having to deal with he had to deal with, like,
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: you know, the being hurt all the time and the migraines, Like,
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: there's no jealousy there. I'm just happy with what happened
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: with me and how I you know, ended up. And
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: so that was kind of that. And I haven't spoken
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: to Percy since then, and I haven't heard his name
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: mentioned by any of our buddies. Like I don't know
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: how he's doing. I hope he's doing okay, but that
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: that's kind of what happened. And it was like dang, I.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: Mean before the super Bowl, like, hey, what the fuck
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: are we doing him?
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: What is happening right now?
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: Like what?
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: And so that's kind of that's what happened.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: So you never thought they're like, hey, I might as
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: well call this guy after I'm sure at this point,
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: like he tackled me the ground, I don't want to
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: talk to you.
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, man, I got enough going on. I
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: just got got the bag. I'm moved on. Like if
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: you really want to talk, like call me and we
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: can talk. But at the same time, like I'm not
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: one it's about to be like show up to him,
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: but like what's happening, Like I ain't forgot what you
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: did last summer? Yeah about, but I'm just like whatever, Man,
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: I got my bag, I got my ring, you got
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: you know, you got your bag. Whatever we are, everybody.
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: Knows something right right, Yeah, you're taking the high road
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: right now, but there's still a piece of here that's.

- 1:56:41Speaker 4: Back to you. Now, you do have a you do
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: have a story out there where you do come out
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: like what's happening with Jalen Ramsey? Like Twitter going back
- 1:56:51Speaker 4: and forth. I know he's in your he's engaged with
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: your personal life and everything else. What's the because you
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: guys had the game October to where you guys are scrapping.
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: Wasn't that pregame after the game.
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: It was during the game. It was after the game.
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: He was out there ready to go, and I was
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: with the smoke too. He ended up getting fined. I
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: didn't get fined, but man, that was a heated battle.
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: And so like, just so you guys have the backstory,
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: Like him and my one of my twin sisters have
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: two children together. They went to the same high school
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: and we have two beautiful, beautiful, beautiful nieces, Brooklyn and Breeling,
- 1:57:32Speaker 3: and they were together. Now, things happened within that relationship
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: where I don't think, I don't I don't think my
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: sister was done or treat the way she should have
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: been treated. And when that happens, who you gotta come see,
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: you gotta come see big bro, right, Yeah, And so
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: I think I mighta like made it public, like you know,
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: he gonna have to see me at some point, but
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: it wasn't to the point where I was about to
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: like like fight him on the field or anything. And
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: so I guess he took that personal.
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: We get to so and you said, you you said
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: somewhere that he's gonna have to see me at some point. Yeah,
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: So that was a public that was a public statement
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: that you mad.
- 1:58:11Speaker 3: Yeah. I can't remember if I tweeted or if I
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: said an interview, but let him know, like you got
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: to see me at some point. Now, it could be
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: we scrapping or we're gonna talk us out like two men,
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: but I'm gonna be ready for whatever happens. And so
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: he took that, and you know the media ran with
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: it like the big matchup because he's.
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: Tweeted about the matchup, right yeah.
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, And so you know, we get to the
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: game and I'm like, I really don't know what's about
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: to happen, but I got it. I got everything locked
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: in the chamber I got and this one, I got
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: all the verbals fights I need to have on this one.
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: I'm ready. I already got it. Uh and YouTube afew
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: kickboxing and karate videos.
- 1:58:48Speaker 4: I'm ready.
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: I'm ready. I to watch kill Bill a few times
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: we got uh. So we get out there and right away,
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: like first one, he's like over he jamming me, and
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, that's how we're gonna do. We're gonna
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: do so all right, I ain't cut blocked somebody in
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: a minute. I start, I don't even like the block
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: like that, but I ended up like trying to cut
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: his knees out like within the game, completely legal.
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: Yeah, and then I'm.
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: Cutting him and he's mushing my head into the dirt.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: But like at the same time, like I'm mentally prepared,
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: like whatever I do, I cannot cost my team a
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: penalty or cost myself any money, so that that's in
- 1:59:27Speaker 3: my back pocket. I'm not gonna do that because that's selfish.
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: But I'm in his face. I'm talking my mess. He
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: talking his mess. He's doing a little bit extra freaking Uh, knucklehead,
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: didn't block on this play right here that we watch
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: it and got me.
- 1:59:47Speaker 4: Because you got two physical players going at it. It
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: feels personal. It's all this stuff. It's all on the ground. Bro.
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: Is that is that Dan Lewis?
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: Oh no, yes, Bro, it's a screen mine that I
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: got to it. He know, he know we got to.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: When you hit the ground, you just saying, fuck this mother.
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: I'm a damn postcard. I'm gonna be on a billboard.
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: That's That's what I'm gonna be.
- 2:00:14Speaker 3: On a billboard. And it didn't hurt. It wasn't even
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: that bad of a hit. It's just the optics of it.
- 2:00:19Speaker 3: It means he's lifted me, bro, you know he that's it.
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: That's it.
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: Get And it wasn't even got but that situation because
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: I what you just told us that I got got.
- 2:00:30Speaker 3: And so you know, I'm thinking, like that's what we
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: want to deal with. And then after the game, the
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: game ends, you know, I run up there to like
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: to like expecting what's gonna happen, and he can find
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: me and I see I pop up because you know,
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: you know when Sucker punched me, period, So I go,
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: I'm seeing where her? Yeah, yeah, So I run. I
- 2:00:50Speaker 3: went right up to him my helmet on, and he swings,
- 2:00:53Speaker 3: He swings, but I know he's gonnawing, So I duck
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: and I want to dump him. And then that, you know,
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: you have everybody on us, and so they separate us,
- 2:01:00Speaker 3: and then.
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: Everybody's probably watching both of.
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: You before the game in the locker room.
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I had homies like GT, I'm with you, I'm
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: round with you, bro, like look, I'm gonna be ready.
- 2:01:13Speaker 3: I'm ready at all times. I'm sure he had his
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: folks like hey, Jay, it's gonna happen. So, you know,
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: there's a lot to peel back in this relationship. But
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: at the end of the day, like I have two
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: amazing like nieces that I'm not I don't I don't
- 2:01:31Speaker 3: want them to be drug into this, and so I
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: think we both have. We haven't talked, but I think
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: we both have kind of just kind of agreed to
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: like not be knuckleheads for the betterment of his daughters
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: and his and my nieces. And so that's kind of
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: where we stand. But I did, oh my gosh, he
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: played at True Boy last week, pulled up and like so,
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: and obviously my community knows what kind of happened, and
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: like they're letting me know, like hey, by the way,
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: Jalen's coming coming up, cam Fordham's hosting them, and I'm like,
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: be ready for whatever. And so it's that there hadn't
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: been any communication, none, community all, none. At this point,
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: it's nighttime. He must have played all day and I'm
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: we're me and my kids are about to leave and
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: I'm holding the door and the only person there there
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: goes Jalen and he walks up to me and he said,
- 2:02:29Speaker 3: what's up, Gene. I just looked at him, like, what's up?
- 2:02:32Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:02:33Speaker 3: I'm like, it's like I'm shaking your hand because you know,
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: I'm not that guy, But what's up? What's happening? And
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: he was like, he said, you got a spot out here?
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: I said, yeah, I got like four of them. He said, Oh,
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: that's cool, that's cool. And then he was just like,
- 2:02:48Speaker 3: we're gonna talk sometimes. He said, we're gonna talk, and
- 2:02:52Speaker 3: I said, yeah we should, Yeah we should. Actually I
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: put a little bit more basement. I said, yeah we should,
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: Yeah we should. And then that was kind of that.
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: And you know, we haven't had a conversation. We probably
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: should have a conversation. But you know, in this case,
- 2:03:09Speaker 3: I don't really think I did anything wrong. You know,
- 2:03:13Speaker 3: I didn't do him wrong. I feel like he did
- 2:03:15Speaker 3: my sister sisters wrong. Now, I will say this. I
- 2:03:18Speaker 3: will say this because I like to find the good
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: and people. I do think he has grown as a man.
- 2:03:24Speaker 3: I know that I've grown as a man. I know
- 2:03:26Speaker 3: I made mistakes as a young and as well, so
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: I do think he's gotten better. And so I do
- 2:03:32Speaker 3: provide grace in that area. But that's still baby sis.
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, yeah, I mean you gotta I understand completely
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: why you gotten to that position one hundred percent. And
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: I'm sure I can understand why he got his position,
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: his story, his narrative, all that, and how you guys
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: ended up getting there. I would have loved to be
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: just you be walking about oh, shit, I would just
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: take a couple of steps better if I cannot wait
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: to watch this.
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: I look back, I was like, Joe, what's up? Do
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: you good to see you?
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: Man?
- 2:04:02Speaker 3: How we doing all right?
- 2:04:03Speaker 4: I was just like, yeah, yes, you talk.
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he's just quiet.
- 2:04:10Speaker 3: To come on in and have a drink hash this
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: out at the country club.
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: Well, dude, I'm glad. I can't wait to hear you
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: guys have that conversation or hear how that conversation goes.
- 2:04:22Speaker 1: We know we got to get you out of here
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: and get a hard out bud like question.
- 2:04:26Speaker 4: Oh my good gosh, I feel like I want to
- 2:04:27Speaker 4: ask I know what.
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: I thought we can do this time. Sounds like based
- 2:04:30Speaker 1: on his his gambling experiences, you're going to be back
- 2:04:33Speaker 1: to do the locker room at least once this fall.
- 2:04:35Speaker 3: I mean, I'm only down the road. It's only thirty
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: five minutes with no traffics, thirty three minutes, so it's
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: too easy.
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: Boys, we have a absolute.
- 2:04:45Speaker 4: Just follow everything he does, because he seems.
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: Like the first yeah he's talking about you got to
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: make money in this business is how you do it.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: We'll have a couple of parlays. You don't have to
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: jump on.
- 2:04:56Speaker 4: Oh, he'll ride the parlor, but he'll laugh at us ntil.
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: No, no, no, not just you know the parlays would
- 2:05:02Speaker 3: be like a fifty dollars parlay. Yeah, but then if
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: I believe in those other legs, those other legs will
- 2:05:08Speaker 3: be hammered.
- 2:05:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so the parlay really won't your solo?
- 2:05:13Speaker 3: Yeah around Robin.
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: Bud like question, so everybody knows on this or anyone
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: would do anything for? A bud Light question for you
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: is what is anything? What would you do anything for?
- 2:05:24Speaker 1: I can't say family, go back and change something, dang
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: something about your future.
- 2:05:32Speaker 4: Maybe it's a pickleball championship.
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: Done that already you got.
- 2:05:38Speaker 4: That's something I want to ask about.
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I would say, uh, if I could redo it,
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: I would. I would give baseball a shot too, Like
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: I was drafted in baseball twice high school insane, yeah,
- 2:05:55Speaker 3: thank you out of high school and then also doing
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: my rookie season or after my rookie season by the
- 2:06:00Speaker 3: team ended up winning the World Series. By the way,
- 2:06:03Speaker 3: the San Francisco Giants won it that year. I remember thinking, like,
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: damn man, we were playing football. Could have had me
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: a ring. Little did I know. I was gonna get
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: my few years later, but I would give baseball a shot,
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: and I'd probably do anything to go through that grind.
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: You know, I'm happy with how life ended up, but
- 2:06:22Speaker 3: it's always that that what if, Like what if I
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: would have played baseball? Like what I made it to
- 2:06:27Speaker 3: the majors, What would have been my journey?
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: What?
- 2:06:30Speaker 4: You know?
- 2:06:31Speaker 3: Who? What I would have met? You don't know, But
- 2:06:34Speaker 3: it's always like curious. I'm always curious, like what how
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: would it happened? So I would do that, say I
- 2:06:41Speaker 3: love it?
- 2:06:41Speaker 4: What about? Like what rounds were you drafted in?
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: I think the first time I found out through my
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: space actually that I was drafted in the forty second round.
- 2:06:53Speaker 4: How many rounds are there?
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: Back then it was fifty two or fifty that's just crazy.
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a signing bus, a fifty second rounder
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: from the Arizona dieback man.
- 2:07:03Speaker 3: Maybe a plane ticket, yeah, some.
- 2:07:06Speaker 1: Cracker Jackson or a packet chewing gum.
- 2:07:09Speaker 3: But see, they knew that I was going to Notre
- 2:07:11Speaker 3: Dame to play baseball and football, and then you know,
- 2:07:15Speaker 3: my rights had just been giving up over those next
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: three to four years, and so they someone else drafted
- 2:07:21Speaker 3: me just so they could have their rights. It's in
- 2:07:23Speaker 3: case like not that. Yeah, I mean, but I was
- 2:07:26Speaker 3: told that if I would have played baseball, would have
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: been a top eleven round pick. Because baseball drafts purely
- 2:07:32Speaker 3: on like potential. They can baseball, They feel like they
- 2:07:35Speaker 3: can teach you a lot of the things, especially hitting
- 2:07:39Speaker 3: for me, which is probably the weakest thing for me.
- 2:07:41Speaker 3: Like I can hit, but I couldn't hit Kurt balls,
- 2:07:43Speaker 3: and you can probably teach someone that. But what you
- 2:07:46Speaker 3: couldn't teach you couldn't teach my speed. You couldn't teach
- 2:07:50Speaker 3: my explosiveness. Right, And so that's kind of how they position.
- 2:07:53Speaker 3: Did you play anywhere in the outfield?
- 2:07:56Speaker 4: Got the range?
- 2:07:57Speaker 3: And I'd never played baseball because it was fun, Like
- 2:08:01Speaker 3: I never trained, I didn't go to camps. I played AAU,
- 2:08:04Speaker 3: but I didn't really put in time, like I didn't
- 2:08:07Speaker 3: work on all the arm exercises, and I didn't sit
- 2:08:09Speaker 3: in the cage and hit a thousand balls a day.
- 2:08:12Speaker 3: It was football season ended, all right, let's go play
- 2:08:15Speaker 3: baseball and I just go out there, seatball, hit ball.
- 2:08:17Speaker 4: Did you play baseball at Notre Dame?
- 2:08:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: Multi sport athlete.
- 2:08:23Speaker 4: Yeah, And you say you want to pick a ball championship.
- 2:08:25Speaker 3: May I've won a few, like celebrity events and club
- 2:08:29Speaker 3: championships and stuff like that.
- 2:08:31Speaker 4: You take it pretty serious.
- 2:08:33Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:08:33Speaker 4: And actually it's gonna say you got your.
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: Uh you guys a gift.
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: Trust.
- 2:08:38Speaker 3: Yeah, this is my own actually hold on this my
- 2:08:41Speaker 3: own personal paddle. It's got the logo that I created
- 2:08:45Speaker 3: GT and that's a backwards three, but it also symbolizes
- 2:08:50Speaker 3: I'm the third but also it's I'm a godly man,
- 2:08:54Speaker 3: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, all the points
- 2:08:56Speaker 3: and the sweet spot of the paddle is right there
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: in the mid to where you see the cross. And
- 2:09:01Speaker 3: when I'm at my best in life, I'm hitting this
- 2:09:04Speaker 3: sweet spot over and over and that's when I'm I'm
- 2:09:06Speaker 3: executing to perfection. So that's what we call life over
- 2:09:11Speaker 3: here for us. And then on the other side, you
- 2:09:14Speaker 3: probably can't see it, but showtime and the eye is
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: actually me doing a first down move, but I'm holding
- 2:09:21Speaker 3: a pickleball paddle.
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: So thank you, bro, Bro, this is awesome.
- 2:09:25Speaker 4: He's got his own. Who are some good retired NFL
- 2:09:34Speaker 4: guys or retired athletes that you've came across in this
- 2:09:36Speaker 4: pickleball world? Because it seems like you're pretty good.
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I like to I like to say, and I
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: could be wrong, but I'm like the best, like ex
- 2:09:46Speaker 3: athlete pickleball player. It's like until someone tells me otherwise
- 2:09:49Speaker 3: in the kitchen, you know, pickleball count WI can probably
- 2:09:52Speaker 3: confirm that. But Danny Wirfold is good. Eric Decker is
- 2:09:55Speaker 3: a lefty that's getting pretty good too. Randall Cobb is
- 2:10:00Speaker 3: on this journey.
- 2:10:01Speaker 4: Both guys. Yeah, guys around here in California.
- 2:10:04Speaker 3: You got a bunch of guys that play, and I
- 2:10:07Speaker 3: think it's one of those sports that that's growing between.
- 2:10:10Speaker 3: You know, pick a ball is a great one, but
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: another one that's fantastic.
- 2:10:15Speaker 6: It's padell amazing played for the first time this weekend.
- 2:10:20Speaker 3: If you got any athleticism and can move around a
- 2:10:24Speaker 3: little bit and reaction time, that's the game to play.
- 2:10:28Speaker 3: That is.
- 2:10:30Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like rocketball and pickleball kind of mix.
- 2:10:33Speaker 3: Yeah. You play it off the wall and off the glass.
- 2:10:36Speaker 3: You have to play angles. It's it's awesome, dude, And
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: so I've been playing that a lot lately over the
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: place called paddle House.
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: What's your search history talking about here?
- 2:10:46Speaker 8: But what.
- 2:10:51Speaker 3: Can we talk about something I'm on busting with the boys,
- 2:10:53Speaker 3: and we're still getting.
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: Ads yet run a business. Got to run a business.
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: So they okay, you can play off the glass and
- 2:11:02Speaker 1: everything like that.
- 2:11:03Speaker 3: And it's a tennis ball. You play with pretty much
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: less pressure than a tennis ball, but it has to
- 2:11:08Speaker 3: hit the ground first and then it can hit the
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: chicken wire or the glass. You can play it off
- 2:11:13Speaker 3: of it. But when you hit the ball hard, sometimes
- 2:11:18Speaker 3: it bounces towards the net, which gives her the defense
- 2:11:22Speaker 3: the easy slam. And so it's a game of spins.
- 2:11:25Speaker 3: But it is so much fun, and I believe in
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: give it three or four years, it's going to be
- 2:11:31Speaker 3: the game to play in America, like it's already internationally
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: the game. Like we're the only ones that play pick
- 2:11:38Speaker 3: a ball like that.
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: Bad House too.
- 2:11:40Speaker 6: There's one that's like less than five minutes from yere,
- 2:11:43Speaker 6: so we should go sometime.
- 2:11:45Speaker 1: If you hit it and it bounces over the gate,
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: what's is it just out? Now? No point?
- 2:11:53Speaker 3: No, it's the point. It's the point. Who hit it out?
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: Gotcha?
- 2:11:57Speaker 3: The lungs it you know, hits the ground and then
- 2:11:59Speaker 3: goes out. But you'll see some guys they'll hit it
- 2:12:01Speaker 3: at an angle and they're run out of the fence
- 2:12:03Speaker 3: and still hit it.
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: Oh they pros, pros. Yeah see this this seems like
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: a lot more moving than I can I think I
- 2:12:12Speaker 1: can do.
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but you're why damn why? And then you play
- 2:12:20Speaker 3: you learn to play angles, man, you know where to
- 2:12:22Speaker 3: go here it is, you know where to go to
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: like protect yourself and you know, but it's that dude.
- 2:12:29Speaker 4: Immediately knew was going on.
- 2:12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he was aware of the minute left the paddle.
- 2:12:33Speaker 3: These these are pros. These these are big dogs.
- 2:12:35Speaker 1: These are the big boys. Pickleball is more of your
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: triple A. This is when this other sausages made right.
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, this is a great game.
- 2:12:45Speaker 1: I do want to get out and hit a little
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: pickleball one time I've never gone to before.
- 2:12:47Speaker 4: We got there, there's a there's a there's a crew
- 2:12:50Speaker 4: out here.
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: We got.
- 2:12:52Speaker 4: Because these are bringing up Eric Decker, you got Randal
- 2:12:54Speaker 4: car you got Bach, you got us, got Clay yeah
- 2:12:59Speaker 4: de Laney.
- 2:13:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, you guys. You guys really have like
- 2:13:04Speaker 3: a little tournament, like a little little tournament at some point.
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I just got to learn to play first. I
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: got you because I want I want to.
- 2:13:10Speaker 4: Make sure I can operate all right, So here here proposition.
- 2:13:14Speaker 3: Here, Here you go the proposal to here we get
- 2:13:18Speaker 3: a court built in this incredible environment you have here,
- 2:13:23Speaker 3: and then you have me on doing the show, and
- 2:13:25Speaker 3: in between the shows we can think around. I can
- 2:13:27Speaker 3: teach you the game. We'll go talk about best bets
- 2:13:31Speaker 3: when you know, you know, because y'all need a little
- 2:13:32Speaker 3: color in this bust.
- 2:13:33Speaker 4: Anyway, Hey, you are you are correct.
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: It's like.
- 2:13:42Speaker 3: You're a local guy.
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: Do so much for us. Once we go too much
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: of a streak, it's like, hey, the landing coming, Love
- 2:13:52Speaker 1: of God, we got to check some boxes. Help us out.
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: We could do that. How big is this little area?
- 2:13:58Speaker 3: I think a court size is like forty four by
- 2:14:01Speaker 3: twenty four and I could be off by a little bitway,
- 2:14:05Speaker 3: but you.
- 2:14:06Speaker 4: Need to driveway flat.
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: It's not flat like that side.
- 2:14:10Speaker 11: We're gonna have to outsource space.
- 2:14:13Speaker 3: I know this crematorium, dude, Oh is it?
- 2:14:17Speaker 5: Oh?
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: So of course twenty by forty four, and then you
- 2:14:20Speaker 3: probably need like at least three to four feet behind
- 2:14:24Speaker 3: and outside so you don't like sounds.
- 2:14:26Speaker 1: That bus with the boys needs to move. I know,
- 2:14:31Speaker 1: as we're building more shit I know.
- 2:14:32Speaker 4: But there's also build out though, because we we actually do.
- 2:14:35Speaker 4: Look how far is pickleball.
- 2:14:37Speaker 3: Kingdom away from here? Because that's a good indoor place
- 2:14:41Speaker 3: that it can't be that far away. I mean it's
- 2:14:45Speaker 3: gonna be like ten to fifteen minutes.
- 2:14:48Speaker 4: The competitiveness, I don't know about it. It's like anytime
- 2:14:52Speaker 4: we get spike ball going as a blast.
- 2:14:54Speaker 1: It's really one of those things you're just like, do
- 2:14:56Speaker 1: I want to take the time?
- 2:14:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's a good workout man, I you know,
- 2:15:01Speaker 3: we all love a good sweat. Yeah, it's just to
- 2:15:04Speaker 3: sweat and all the ignorant juice that we consume.
- 2:15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, this time of year or two easy
- 2:15:11Speaker 1: to get sweat that time.
- 2:15:14Speaker 4: Ain't nobody watching its, can't nobody tweet about us? Yeah,
- 2:15:16Speaker 4: being shitty except for you just to create a burn
- 2:15:20Speaker 4: and just potaila one. It's garbage and pickleball bulls know this.
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: I mean that might be like something you could throw
- 2:15:27Speaker 3: into the Dad Olympics some way.
- 2:15:33Speaker 1: It's a good idea.
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: For this level. You just need like painters tape, yeah,
- 2:15:39Speaker 3: and like a little prop that you can get anywhere.
- 2:15:42Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like I'm an asset.
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: I feel like there's something there, but you got an
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: agent still, Yeah, you want to talk to us or
- 2:15:53Speaker 1: do you want to talk to the boys? Okay, okay,
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: all right, perfect love that. Keep the suits out of it.
- 2:15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Olympics, keeping nice and clean.
- 2:16:01Speaker 1: Give golden plus.
- 2:16:02Speaker 4: Yeah, bro, thank you man.
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: Great episode, great stories, great stories, and there's more. I
- 2:16:10Speaker 1: love it.
- 2:16:13Speaker 4: No, I know we didn't even scratch the surface.
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: Now, but you gotta go, right, you got this dumb meeting,
- 2:16:21Speaker 1: dumb meeting, dumb ass meeting, a bunch of money or
- 2:16:24Speaker 1: whatever the meeting is. Yeah, we got all.
- 2:16:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you come back, you know the first date up
- 2:16:31Speaker 3: on the first date, right, Yeah, got more?
- 2:16:35Speaker 4: I know you got obviously the hell Mary, But do
- 2:16:37Speaker 4: you have, like, do you have some good war stories
- 2:16:39Speaker 4: against the Packers because almost like we get him in Clay.
- 2:16:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 2:16:45Speaker 3: Clay was a bad man, and I knew I had
- 2:16:48Speaker 3: to bring it against him because he was on hit
- 2:16:50Speaker 3: hard and often. But my first my welcome to the
- 2:16:55Speaker 3: NFL moment was against the Packers my rookie season in
- 2:16:58Speaker 3: the preseason. They throw a slamp my way and I
- 2:17:02Speaker 3: go to catch it. I don't even know if I
- 2:17:05Speaker 3: called it because he put me laid me out. I
- 2:17:09Speaker 3: mean concussion protocol times ten. I was out no ship
- 2:17:13Speaker 3: like you ever get hit so hard or hit you know,
- 2:17:14Speaker 3: get hit so hard that that fine money I felt
- 2:17:17Speaker 3: like should have came to me, Man the NFL, I
- 2:17:21Speaker 3: need that fine money because you messed me up. Dog.
- 2:17:23Speaker 3: And so it happened against I don't even know who
- 2:17:25Speaker 3: it was at this point, but it's my rookie season,
- 2:17:27Speaker 3: as my welcome to the NFL moment against the Green
- 2:17:29Speaker 3: Bay Packers.
- 2:17:31Speaker 4: It'd be fun.
- 2:17:33Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt.
- 2:17:35Speaker 4: He had to bring it against me too.
- 2:17:38Speaker 1: We all know that it goes. You know when the
- 2:17:42Speaker 1: wide receiver talk came up and who he looked up to?
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: Your name was mentioned.
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: Before you even knew me.
- 2:17:46Speaker 4: I was, I knew you, Yeah, yeah.
