- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Stay no cable.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you about it.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to another episode of Life Finance and Real Estate with the girl, Kirby the Realtor, where we educate, empower, and we elevate.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I am your host, y'all, and I want to thank you.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for taking out time to listen to little old me.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Thank you to all my listeners, those that are new and those that are old.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: And you know what I always tell you, I don't teach you how to earn it, I teach you how to what?
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: I teach you how to keep it because ownership is bigger than a D with your name on it, and it's learning how to manage your life, your money, your decision, your opportunities, your setbacks, and yes, even the things that happened that you did not plan for.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Listen, y'all.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Last week I had the opportunity to sit down with my homie Chris Crane.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: Y'all, we talked about his journey, creativity, his book, music, purpose, and some of the different directions his life has taken.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: But this week, y'all, I want to shift that conversation just a little bit.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Because I started thinking about something all of us have experienced.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: I was just talking with a friend earlier today about this very same thing.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: What happens when life doesn't go according to plan?
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Because what y'all, we love a plan, right?
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: At least I know I do.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I love a plan.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: I want to know what's happening.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: I think a lot of people want to know what's happening, when it's happening, how it's happening, how much it's gonna cost, who's gonna be responsible for, and what time everybody needs to be there.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: And some of y'all are just like me.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: We don't just have a plan A, but guess what?
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: We got a plan B and a C and probably a spreadsheet somewhere, just in case ABC don't work, okay?
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: But when life comes along and says, Hey, you know what?
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: That's cute.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Life now, y'all.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Life funny because you can plan everything perfectly.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: I'm talking about down to the T and still get surprised.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: I've just learned you can do everything you thought you were supposed to do, and something can still go wrong.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: So today, y'all, we're talking about when life doesn't go according to plan.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: When life doesn't go according to plan.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: And if I could give you one thought to carry through today's show, it would be this.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: When the plan changes, don't panic.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: I need you to pivot, okay?
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you didn't do anything wrong.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: I want to start here because I think it's important.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: You know, sometimes when something goes wrong, our first response is, what did I do wrong?
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: And for us, you know, um, church, I'm gonna say church people, I ain't even gonna say Christians, but you know, I've heard some people say sometimes, um, well, you must not be living right, you must be doing this or that, and that and all that kind of stuff.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: You know, they they want to throw that in there, but sometimes you don't have to do nothing wrong.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Sometimes we do make bad decisions, sometimes we do ignore warning signs, sometimes we procrastinate, sometimes we simply, y'all, we mess up.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: But guess what?
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: We are human, but every unxpected outcome is an evidence that you did something wrong.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: Do you hear me?
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: I can give y'all a ton of examples.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: You know, sometimes I can tell you when I was building my house, you know, I had this bright idea to open a brokerage and and all the things, right?
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: And I had someone tell me that, you know, you must be doing something wrong, or that must not have been, you know, in God's will for you to do X, Y, and Z because you hitting this roadblock, or you hitting this, or you hitting that.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, I had to just take a step back and I had to think about that thing because that that's not that wasn't the case, and that's not always the case.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Sometimes, y'all, life just happens.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: You gotta be prepared.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: You gotta be prepared.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: Life just happens because you can prepare, you can pray, you can plan, you can do all your homework, all your research.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: And y'all, I can tell you, I did these things.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: And I'm thinking that I made the best decision I could with all the information I had.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: And the outcome still wasn't what I inspected.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Like I had to go through some things, y'all.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: But guess what?
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: It is life, and learning how to handle those moments is just as important as learning how to handle success because anybody can celebrate when everything goes according to plan.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Your character gets tested when it doesn't.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: Y'all, your character can get tested when it doesn't.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: I just had to have a conversation with my 12-year-old twin about an outcome that wasn't expected just to prepare him for tomorrow.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: You know, it's I can tell y'all about that another day, but I'm just saying it, things don't always go as expected.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Proverbs 16 and 9 says, We plan God directs.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: There's a scripture that fits this conversation.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: That's the scripture.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: It fits our conversation.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: A man's heart divides his ways, but the Lord directs his step.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: In other words, you make the plan, and planning isn't wrong, preparation isn't wrong, having goals isn't wrong, creating a vision for your life, y'all.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: That's not wrong.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: But somewhere along the way, we have to understand the plan belongs to us.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: The directions ultimately belong to God, and those aren't always the same thing.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Sometimes the direction God allows doesn't look anything like the plan we created.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: And that's hard, y'all, especially when you're a planner, especially when you're somebody who likes things organized, especially y'all, when people depend on you.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Because sometimes we don't just want God to direct our steps, we want Him to direct them according to the itinerary already created.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: That we listen to me, we want God to direct them according to the itinerary we already created.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: That's funny.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: And God said, That's not where I'm taking you.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: God said, That's not where I'm taking you.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Here's what I think we get our we get ourselves in trouble, y'all.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Some things change, change immediately.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: We panic, right?
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: Deals fall apart, right?
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: We panic, right?
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: And unexpected bill shows up.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: We panic.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: Something changes at work, we panic.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: Somebody tells us no, we panic.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: A door closed, and guess what?
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: We panic.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: But panic and preparation really make good partners, y'all.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: When something changes, sometimes the first thing you need to do is simply ask, what changed?
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: What can I control?
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: What can't I control?
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: And y'all, I'm preaching.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: I'm not preaching.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: I'm talking to myself, okay?
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: Because I'm telling you, y'all, this week, these last few weeks, maybe this whole, this last month, y'all, not September, but August.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: And these last few days in September, they've been challenging.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, you also have to ask, what is my next best move?
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Not how do I fix my entire life by five o'clock?
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Because that's currently.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: That's me.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I be trying to figure out how I'm finna fix this in the next two minutes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Not 10, but two.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: What's my next best move, y'all?
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: And that's pivoting, right?
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: I really want somebody to hear this.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: Changing the plan does not mean abandoning the goal, okay?
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Sometimes we think if we have to change directions, we failed.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: No.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: You may have simply received new information.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: A pivot isn't always quitting.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: Sometimes a pivot is wisdom.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: You thought you were gonna get there one way.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: Okay?
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Now you have to take another route.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: So although the def destination may still be the same, the strategy changed.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: And listen, mature people learn how to adjust without ever adjustment.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Well, hold on, let me let me change that.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: A mature person learns how to adjust without allowing every adjustment to destroy them emotionally.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: I need you to hear me.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Sometimes we when we have to pivot or change or adjust, it it bothers us.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: It it makes us mad, it unsettles us, and and you begin to feel like you're in turmoil and you're just all over the place, right?
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: So that's what I mean.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: A mature person learns how to adjust without allowing every adjustment to destroy them emotionally.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about life a little bit.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: You know, you can have the entire year plan, right?
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: Your entire, I mean, I have my schedule, right?
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: I have things on my calendar, things, but things change.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: Things happen.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: Family situation changes, relationship changes, job changes, the kids have things you gotta be there for, like an opportunity you were counting on disappears, you know, somebody disappoints you, you lose something.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: Something you thought would take three months ends up taking a year, two years, maybe even three years.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: Something you thought would last forever, y'all, ends sooner than you expected.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Life interrupts our calendar all the time.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: And one of the hardest lessons I've learned is I cannot be disappointed without I can be disappointed without being coming defeated.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: I had this conversation with my baby.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: It's okay to be disappointed, it's okay to be upset, it's okay to be hurt, but don't let it take over.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: Don't feel like you're defeated, don't feel like you're just less in.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Disappointed without becoming defeated.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: Those are two different things.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: It's okay to acknowledge I didn't want this.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: This hurts.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: I'm disappointed.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: That wasn't the outcome I prayed for.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Faith doesn't require pretending something doesn't hurt.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: I had to explain this.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: It's okay to admit, yes, I'm hurt.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Yes, I'm disappointed.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: It's not what I expected, but I still believe God can do something with it.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: That's different.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: I still believe that I'm great.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: I still believe there's greatness in me.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: I still believe the next time when I do it, I it's gonna happen.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: See, James 4, 13 and 15 talks about people saying, Essentially, tomorrow we'll go to this city, we'll stay there, we'll conduct business, we'll make money.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: And James reminds them, you don't even know what tomorrow will bring.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Instead, we should say, if the Lord's will, we should live and do this or that.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: If the Lord's will, I love that scripture because that scripture isn't telling us don't make plans, it's teaching us don't worship your plans, your plans, don't worship your plans.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: There's a difference.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: Plan, prepare, work, build, save, invest, dream, but hold the plan with an open hand because sometimes God changes the route.
- 13:05SPEAKER_02: Sometimes God changes the route.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: And when you think about finances, sometimes life will look at that beautiful budgie you created.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: That beautiful budgie you created and say, that's nice.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: The car breaks down.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: I was talking to my one of my best friends today, like, and she was telling me about all the things that happened.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: The AC went out, the garage door quit working, just all the things, right?
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: And your insurance increases, something happens with the house, a child needs something, business gets slow, unexpected expenses shows up, and suddenly, suddenly, y'all like your numbers don't look like the way you plan.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: How many on here can like attest to that?
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: This is exactly why financial preparation matters.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Not because preparation guarantees that nothing bad will happen, but being prepared, preparation gives you options when something does happen.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: That's the purpose of emergency funds, not your savings, right?
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Not your stack in the account, but your emergency funds.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: That's the purpose of insurance.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: That's the purpose of not spending every dollar that comes through your hand.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: That's the purpose of understanding your debt, y'all.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Understanding your debt, the purpose of building reserves, the purpose of knowing your numbers, because financial peace isn't having a life where nothing ever goes wrong.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Financial peace is having enough margin.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: And y'all know I've talked about that word margin.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Enough margin that everything doesn't become an emergency.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Are you tracking me?
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Do you remember us talking about margin?
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Financial peace is having enough margin that everything doesn't become an emergency.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: So when that AC went out, you didn't have to go pull from your working capital or your, you know, your money that you have in the account.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: You had an emergency fund set up just for those things.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: It's a big difference.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: Here's another thing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: When something expect unexpected happens financially, learn to slow down.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Because when you panic, you make very expensive decisions.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna just say you make bad decisions.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: You make very expensive decisions.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: People panic, they swipe the credit card, right?
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: You panic and you take out the loan.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Then you drain your savings and you sell something.
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: You make a decision that you haven't thoroughly thought through.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: You know, sometimes those options may be necessary, but first look at the numbers.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Like literally sit there, dissect your account, go through things, go through statements, what actually happened?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: How much do I actually need?
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: What other resources are available?
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: What can weight?
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: What needs immediate attention?
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: What options haven't you considered?
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: You will really be surprised how different a situation can look once you stop reacting, you know, emotionally and start looking at it strategically.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: That's financial maturity.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: And that's why I tell you, I don't just teach you how to earn it, I teach you how to what?
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: I teach you how to keep it because keeping it requires wisdom when life doesn't go according to plan.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Now let's talk about real estate.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Listen, if you want to learn how to deal with plans changing, I want you to get involved in real estate, okay?
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: Because you can have everything lined up, everybody's happy, contract signed, inspection schedule, loan moving, closing date on the count, and then here comes the appraisal.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: Or the inspection or the underwriter or the title company or the insurance or somebody suddenly discovered something nobody knew existed.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: And now everybody looking at it like the real looking at the realtor, like saying, What are we gonna do?
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Now, y'all, that's real estate, and that's why I tell people a problem in a transaction doesn't automatically mean the transaction is dead.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: It means we have new information.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Now we have to analyze everything.
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: What are our options?
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: What can we renegotiate?
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: What can we repair?
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: What can we restructure?
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: What can we can we move the closing?
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Can we get another professional involved?
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Is there any other financial option?
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Is walking away actually the wisest decision?
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not failure.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: That's making an informed decision based on information in front of you.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: I explain to my buyers all the time, like it I'm telling you these things, right?
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: I'm giving you these tips, but anything can happen.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: You know, we can prepare, but anything can happen.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Because I'm gonna tell y'all something.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: I have several deals going right now, and we had gotten a um final approval from underwriter, and we were just waiting on the appraisal to come back pending the approval.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: But in the process, we also, because it's a new construction, we were also getting um a home inspection just to, you know, check things out.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: And so I'm excited that we done got this um underwriter approval.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: I'm like, yes, you know, things moving right.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: And then I get a message like, well, buyers are gonna have to provide X, Y, and Z.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna say what it is, because I don't want people in the business, but you know, it just it it bothered me because I'm like, this, we weren't expecting this, right?
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: We weren't, this was not in the the cards, and you having to think, okay, how do I handle this?
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: How do I explain it to my clients without getting them upset?
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: So I had to find solutions first before I approach my clients with it, right?
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: But anyway, I'm just saying that, you know, we can't control everything.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Real estate is is different.
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: You know, it's every transaction is different.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: Um what when you get a new client, you got 11, 12 other people you're working with.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: Lenders, title companies, insurance company, like you got a lot of people you're working with.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: But anyway, I went on that rant.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Here's another perspective.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you're devastated, right?
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: You're devastated because something did not work out.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: You didn't get the house, right?
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: You didn't get the job, you didn't get the contract, you didn't get the opportunity.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: And then six months later, you found out something that makes you say, Thank you, Lord.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: God don't know why, but I see now.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: I didn't know why at the moment, but I thank you because sometimes rejection, y'all, is information.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Sometimes a closed door is your protection, and sometimes the things you were crying about losing was making room for something that you couldn't see yet.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Let me say it again.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Sometimes the things you were crying about losing was making room for something you couldn't see yet, and we don't always know in that moment, but that's why perspective matters, okay?
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: The perspectives.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: Romans 8 and 28 tells us what, and we know that all things what work together for the good of them that what love God.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Notice what it doesn't say, it doesn't say all things are good, some things hurt y'all, some things disappoint us, some things confuse us, and some things we some things we just wouldn't choose, but God has the ability to take those things that weren't good and still work them together for good.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: And y'all, that's where faith comes in because sometimes you don't understand the chapter while you're living in it.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: You'll understand it later.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: There's things we go through, there's things I went through in the last two years.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: I didn't understand them at the time.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: I'm like, Lord, why?
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: And then it became clear later, and it may not be immediately, it may be months or a year later.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: Here's another thing I want to give you.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: Don't build a permanent identity around a temporary ceasing.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: Just because you're struggling right now doesn't mean you are a failure.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Just because money is tight right now doesn't mean you will always be broke.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: Just because one transaction, two, three, or four fell apart doesn't mean you were never own the home.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Just because one relationship didn't work doesn't mean nobody would ever love you.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: I'm just trying to help somebody.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: Just because business is being difficult, you're going through a difficult season, doesn't mean your business is over.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: Doesn't mean you need to quit.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Be careful about putting permanent labels on temporary sets you.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Situations.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Don't put permanent labels on temporary situations.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: A season is a season.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: And a season change.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I'm in a season right now, y'all.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: I'm in a season.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: I want to share, but I can't.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: But just know.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: I know it's going to change.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: I know it's going to change.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: A season is a season.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Isaiah 43, y'all, and 19 says, Behold, I will do a new thing.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: And I love that for this conversation because sometimes, y'all, we get so busy mourning the old plan that we don't recognize the new thing.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: We're saying, but this isn't how I planned it.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: This is not how I, this is not how I notice the key word is I.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: This is not how I planned it.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Not how I want it to go.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: And God may be saying, I know.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: Maybe this, maybe this new thing requires a new route, a new relationship, a new strategy, a new opportunities, a new level of discipline, a new version of you.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: Sometimes pivoting isn't a punishment.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Sometimes, y'all, it's just putting you in the right position.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: That's a whole nother, that's a whole nother thing.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: You know, pivoting isn't punishment.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: It's pivoting is a position.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: That's another position.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Okay, y'all.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: If you're listening today and something in your life hasn't gone according to plan, I want to ask you to ask yourself these four questions, okay?
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: Number one, what actually changed?
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: What separate facts from fear?
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: Number two, what can I control?
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: And I want you to put your energy there, okay?
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: Number three, what is the situation teaching me?
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Don't waste the less.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: What is it teaching me, right?
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: And number four, what is my next best move?
- 24:06SPEAKER_02: What's my next best move?
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: Not the next ten, but the next best.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: Not how you're gonna solve everything.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: What's the wise, the next wise move?
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: That's how you pivot without panicking.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: And I don't know who I'm talking to today.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Maybe you had a plan and it changed.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: Maybe September doesn't look anything like you thought September was gonna look.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: I know we only in day three.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: Maybe, maybe 2026 hasn't looked like what you wrote down in January.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: I want you to go back and look over your vision boards and your your journal.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Maybe financially you're not where you thought you'll be.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Maybe the house hasn't happened.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Maybe the land hasn't happened.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: Maybe that business hasn't grown as quickly as you expected it to.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: Maybe something personally happened that changed your direction.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: I want you to hear me though.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: A change plan doesn't mean a ruined future.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: You gotta regroup.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: You can regroup, you can regroup, real says recover, you can rebuild, and you can what?
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Pivot.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: So as we close today, I want to I want to take you back to where we started.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: I want to take you back to Proverbs 16 and 9.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: A man's heart divides his ways, but the Lord direct his steps.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Make your plans, set your goals, build your savings, work on your credit, prepare to buy the house, the land, the investment property, build the business, plan the vacation the vacation, write the vision, do all of it, huh?
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: But leave room for God to redirect you, okay?
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: And when something doesn't happen the way you plan, don't automatically assume it's over.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: Okay?
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: Don't automatically assume you fail.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: Don't automatically assume God has forgotten you.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: And please do not panic.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: Don't panic.
- 26:11SPEAKER_02: Take a moment.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: Look at what's in front of you.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: Pray about it.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: Get wise counsel.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: Not just talk to anybody, but get wise counsel.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: Evaluate your options.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: And then I need you to what?
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: Pivot.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: Because sometimes, y'all, the plan could change, but your purpose, the purpose never changes.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: Sometimes your route will change, but that destination doesn't.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Sometimes what looks like an interruption today, y'all, can become part of a testimony tomorrow.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: And I'm sure somebody over here that's listening right now can attest and say the same thing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: The pivot, y'all, what I tell you earlier, it's not to punish you, it's to position you.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: Listen, y'all.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: Listen.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: I want to thank you.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Sound like I'm in church, uh.
