  the guys at old school racist who loves to drop the end bomb. Yeah,

  because there's a lot of things that's been said about Jack Martin, that he

  was a drunk, that he was a mentally unstable. But when you hear

  a person caught, generally you can come to your own conclusions about whether or

  not this person is reliable making things up, telling the truth, is crazy,

  is drunk? Or a combination of all the above, but I'll leave

  Okay, everybody knows Jack Martin, the guy famously pistol whipped by Guy
• 5:05
  Banister at the beginning of the movie JFK. And in real life it did
• 5:11
  happen after him and his buddy Guy Banister were drinking at the Kats and Jammer
• 5:19
  bar Um down the street from the Guy Banner Stir and Associate's office, his
• 5:28
  detective agency, where Jack Martin was sometime employed or did jobs for Banister.
• 5:43
  And there's many many iterations of the Jack Banister story urch Jesus Jack Banister,
• 5:53
  Jack Martin's story that has to do with Guy Banister and why he pistol whipped
• 5:58
  him. You know, the story goes that they were they had been out
• 6:08
  drinking, went back to the Manister office and subject came up about the Kennedy
• 6:14
  assassination, and Martin supposedly said something like, what are you gonna do?
• 6:19
  Kill me like you did Kennedy? Which Guy Banister proceeded to pistol whip him
• 6:26
  in the head. Now, Manister did take care and not kill Jack Martin.
• 6:35
  He called an ambulance for him and went to the hospital and paid his
• 6:40
  medical bills for him. So that was mighty white of him to do.
• 6:46
  But and supposedly Delphine Roberts, Manister's secretary, stepped in and don't kill him.
• 6:51
  Don't kill him, guy, you don't kill him. No, I
• 6:56
  don't know, and I don't know exactly if you know, that's where this
• 7:01
  genesis of the whole story started. I've also heard that there was a file
• 7:09
  missing on Lee Oswald from Banister's office and he accused Jack Martin of taken it
• 7:17
  and proceeded to pistol whip him. Now again I don't know. I don't
• 7:21
  know. But we wouldn't have all this drama in New Orleans if it wasn't
• 7:30
  for Jack Martin. Oh, I take that back. It wasn't Jack Martin
• 7:34
  alone. There was also the Dean Andrews saga that pointed the finger in the
• 7:41
  direction of New Orleans. But this thats b I report from November twenty fifth,
• 7:53
  nineteen sixty three, done by Regious Kennedy and special Agent Claude Schlager Old

  Schlager no Claude Schlager in New Orleans, Okay. Jack Martin of one three
• 8:11
  one North Prior Street, New Orleans, advised he was listening to a TV
• 8:16
  program reporting the life of Lee Oswald and reporting various interviews with people in New
• 8:22
  Orleans they were acquainted with Lee Oswald. Martin stated that one of those people
• 8:28
  interviewed, whose name he did not know, who he described as a white
• 8:33
  male early twenties wearing horn rimmed glasses, recalled that Oswald had been active in
• 8:37
  the Civil Air Patrol with David Ferry. Martin stated that when he heard this,
• 8:43
  he flipped. Martin advised that in his occupation as a private investigator,
• 8:50
  he has had occasion to develop considerable information about Ferry and reported it to Richard
• 8:54
  Roby, a special agent of the Investigative Division, Office of Compliance and Security
• 9:00
  of the Federal Aviation Agency of Washington, DC, who must have a big
• 9:03
  file on Ferry as they conducted a complete investigation of his activities in New Orleans
• 9:09
  several years ago. Martin advised and when he called w w LTV station and
• 9:13
  furnished at the station with background information about Ferry, particularly his homosexual tendencies and
• 9:20
  the fact he formally operated the Civil Air Patrol. He also told them that
• 9:24
  Ferry was an amateur hypnotist and that it was his idea that Ferry may have
• 9:28
  hypnotized Lee Oswald and planted a post hypnotic suggestion that he killed the president.

  Martin stated that he has visited in the home of Ferry and saw a group
• 9:41
  of photographs of various Civil Air Patrol cadet groups, and in this group he
• 9:46
  is sure he saw, several years ago a photograph of Lee Oswald as a
• 9:50
  member of one of those classes. He stated he did not recall the group
• 9:56
  that Oswald was in or any other details. In addition, he stated that
• 10:00
  Ferry conducted military type drills with rifles, fatigue clothes, and helmet liners of
• 10:05
  the Civil Air Patrol cadets, and he recalled that Ferry claimed to have taught
• 10:09
  these cadets how to shoot. Martin stated he has observed in Ferry's home a
• 10:15
  number of foreign made firearms, and it is his opinion that Ferry could have
• 10:20
  taught Oswald how to purchase a foreign made firearm, possibly have purchased a gun
• 10:26
  that was shown on television. He stated that he saw a similar type weapons
• 10:31
  at Ferry's home when he visited there two years ago. Martin advised that Ferry
• 10:37
  discussed with him the charges of crimes against nature which resulted in his arrest by
• 10:41
  jeff Parish authorities, and he recalled a Ferry had told him that one of
• 10:46
  these kids that was a witness against them had moved to Mississippi from New Orleans
• 10:52
  and subsequently joined the US Marine Corps. He heard on television that Oswald had
• 10:56
  been in the Marine Corps. Therefore, he surmised that Oswald was that kid
• 11:01
  that he was a witness against Ferry in the crime against nature charge and had
• 11:05
  joined the Marine Corps. Martin explained it might have been the same individual or
• 11:09
  a very close coincidence. Martin advised that he has reported this matter to Major
• 11:18
  post Claire of the New Orleans Police Department Intelligence Division, and he felt that
• 11:24
  Major post Claire was not giving the matter of sufficient concerns, so he called
• 11:30
  Assistant da Herman Coleman, who was a former newspaper reporter and who was very
• 11:35
  familiar with the Fairy case, as he had written various feature stories about Ferry
• 11:41
  Martin stated that he explained all of his ideas and suspicions to Coleman. Martin
• 11:46
  advised he was really suspicious of Ferry's activities when he received a report from Hardy
• 11:50
  Davis, a New Orleans bail bondsman. He told him that g ra Gill,
• 11:54
  a New Orleans attorney and employer a fairy, had called him to locate
• 11:58
  Ferry, who lives down the street from him, and at the same time
• 12:01
  he had denied to the TV station that Ferry was employee that Ferry was an
• 12:07
  employee of Gil's office. Davis furnished Martin information that Ferry had left town for
• 12:13
  Texas on Friday evening I'm sorry, Friday afternoon, November twenty sec nineteen sixty
• 12:20
  three, which information he also made available to mister Coleman of the DA's office.
• 12:26
  Martin stated that Ferry is a completely disreputable person, a notorious sexual deviot
• 12:33
  with a brilliant mind, being highly trained in mathematics, sciences, several foreign
• 12:39
  languages, including Latin, Modern Greek, Ancient Greek. Martin advised that Ferry
• 12:45
  had been educated in a seminary as well, and subsequently expelled from the Catholic
• 12:50
  Church. When he Martin suspected him of being capable of committing any type of
• 12:54
  crime. Martin stated he felt that ferris possible association with Lea Wold to be
• 13:01
  the subject of a close examination, as he personally believed that he could be
• 13:07
  implicated in the killing of President John F. Kennedy. Now, that was
• 13:13
  the earliest FBI interview of Jack Martin post assassination, and really what set the
• 13:22
  ball roland Now that, of course, upon this information, the FBI interviewed
• 13:31
  David Ferry about his activities and what he was doing around the time of the
• 13:37
  assassination and determined that there was nothing there and dropped it. This mantle was
• 13:46
  picked up by District Attorney Jim Garrison, of course, three years later.

  Now fast forward to three years later, in December of nineteen sixty six.

  The interview that you'll hear at the end of this show was done on December
• 14:09
  the fourteenth, nineteen sixty six. And this statement, this statement, so
• 14:26
  Jack Martin, comes from December twenty sixth, nineteen sixty six, driven to
• 14:43
  the State of Louisiana, Parish of Orleans, Office of the District Attorney regarding
• 14:52
  Lee Harvey Oswald in the late summer sixty three, I was sitting in the
• 14:56
  office of Guy Banister, Private Detective, thirty one Lafayette Street, located to
• 15:01
  the rear of Mancuso's Cafe. David Ferry walked in wearing an army type fatigue
• 15:09
  suit and glasses sunglasses. Also with him were three or four young men in
• 15:15
  their twenties dressed in sports shirts. One of them was Morris Brownley. Another
• 15:20
  man was referred to as Lee. After the assassination, I recognized Lee Harvey
• 15:26
  Oswald as one of the men who had walked in with Ferry and Brownley.
• 15:31
  All of them went in to see Banister, and the door was then shut
• 15:33
  so I wouldn't know what they talked about. My reason for being at the
• 15:37
  office that day was to use Banister's typewriter, which I frequently did. These
• 15:43
  people, foreseeing Banisters, sat around in the waiting room about fifteen or twenty
• 15:50
  minutes, occasionally picking up magazines to look at. I looked at them frequently
• 15:54
  because I thought it was a rather odd assortment of people. The above statement
• 15:58
  is true, correct to the best of my knowledge, and is made of
• 16:02
  my own free will. The statement was given to DA Jim Garrison in in
• 16:11
  the Something of Lewis Ivon, hyped by Lewis Ivon on December twenty six,
• 16:21
  nineteen sixty six, and completed at three or five pm on December twenty six,
• 16:29
  nineteen sixty six. Signed Jack Martin. Next up we have from January

  sixth, nineteen sixty six the memory in them to file subject. Miss Shirley
• 16:42
  Beasil White, female, twenty five resides at twenty thirty three Saint Charles Place,
• 16:52
  Apartment thirty nine. She worked part time for Guy Bannister from nineteen sixty
• 16:59
  to sixty one. He does not know David Ferry, but stated that Banister
• 17:03
  did some Norman Rockwell of the American Nazi Party, whatever that means. Stated
• 17:12
  that Banister was ultra conservative. She also knows Jack Martin and as far as
• 17:18
  she knew, his reputation was unsavory. She had heard from a source that
• 17:22
  she can't remember that Martin had committed some abortions in southern Texas. He claims
• 17:29
  he was notorious. He can't remember any dealings with Cubans while she was employed
• 17:34
  by Banister. She will be willing to come up to the office and give
• 17:38
  any information desired. She is very cooperative. Miss Bacille also stated that Anna
• 17:44
  Burglass was a very close friend of Banister and did some investigative work for him
• 17:51
  as well. Also, an investigator named Joseph Newborough worked for Banister with Martin,
• 17:56
  and Newborough had spent five years in the federal penitentiary for embezzlement, So
• 18:03
  this was obviously hostile witness testimony. Next up, we have this weird story
• 18:17
  September sixth, nineteen sixty eight, and this is from a usdj FBI official
• 18:25
  letterhead regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, September sixteenth, nineteen
• 18:33
  sixty eight, Houston, Texas, September thirteenth, nineteen sixty eight. Mister
• 18:38
  David Douglas Doyle, Triple d. Twenty fifteen, Mason Street, Houston,
• 18:45
  Texas, furnished the following information. Doyle stated he has been employed as a
• 18:51
  maintenance man by mister Nat Harns, owner and publisher of The Houstonian, the
• 18:56
  weekly newspaper published in Houston, Texas, which paper has a limited circulation monthly,
• 19:03
  the people working within the City Hall and the Harris County Courts Building.
• 19:07
  Doyle stated he began his employment with Terence in December of sixty seven involuntarily quit
• 19:15
  on September ninth, nineteen sixty eight. Doyle advised he was introduced on approximately
• 19:22
  August first of nineteen sixty eight to one Jack Martin. This introduction took place
• 19:29
  at the apartment of Nat Terence in Houston. Doyle went on to state that
• 19:33
  approximately two weeks after he had met Martin, mister Terence told him that a
• 19:38
  car had been seen driving back and forth in front of Terence's apartment, and
• 19:44
  he requested Doyle to go to the street and see what this car wanted.

  Doyle stated that as he approached the car, he observed two men in the
• 19:52
  front seat, one of whom was holding what appeared to be a shotgun.

  As Doyle approached the car, car sped away. Doyle said that he thereafter
• 20:03
  returned to Terence's apartment, where Jack Martin and one David Lewis were staying.
• 20:11
  Martin was very emotional at this time and appeared to be extremely frightened over the
• 20:15
  event, which, according to Doyle, prompted Martin to talk about many things.
• 20:22
  Martin related in the presence of Terrence and Lewis and Doyle that he was
• 20:26
  one of seven conspirators in the Kennedy assassination, and that there were only three
• 20:32
  of them left, one was living in Ohio and two who were in Houston.
• 20:38
  Martin did not identify the other two conspirators. He also did not elaborate
• 20:44
  further on the assassination, as he appeared to have regretted immediately what he said,
• 20:48
  as if it had been a slip of the tongue. Doyle stated that
• 20:56
  it was his understanding that Martin had been high being out in Terence's apartment because
• 21:02
  of trouble he was involved in with certain people of the underworld in New Orleans.
• 21:07
  Doyle stated that based on this episode with the car as previously maintained or
• 21:12
  as previously mentioned, it was the opinion of Terrence that someone was out to
• 21:17
  kill Jack Martin. Doyle further stated that several days subsequent to this incident,
• 21:25
  Terence called the Harris County Sheriff's office and two deputy sheriffs came out and escorted
• 21:30
  Martin from the apartment. Doyle stated he has not seen Martin since. Doyle
• 21:37
  went on to state that David Lewis was a friend of Martin and had stayed
• 21:41
  with Martin in the apartment of Terrence for several days. He stated that both
• 21:45
  Martin and Lewis were private investigators, and both of them worked with the Central
• 21:52
  Intelligence Agency in some manner and were acquainted with Guy Banister in New Orleans.

  Martin also to hold Doyle that he was the instigator of the Garrison probe into
• 22:03
  the assassination of President Kennedy, but Doyle went on to state that after Martin
• 22:08
  had left the apartment, Terence had asked him to go to the Sheriff's off
• 22:12
  office and give them a statement concerning Martin's remarks about the assassination. Doyle stated
• 22:18
  he did not do this because he did not want to become involved in it.

  He stated Terence kept insisting that he'd do this and told him that he
• 22:26
  would have him arrested if he didn't do it. Thereafter, Doyle told Terence
• 22:32
  he would go to the FBI and report when Martin had told him. Doyle
• 22:36
  reported that Terence as a close friend of Sheriff Buster Kern and could probably have
• 22:41
  him arrested if he wanted to. He stayed in On September tenth, nineteen
• 22:45
  sixty eight, Captain T. W. Leonard and left his business card as
• 22:49
  his apartment with instructions for him to call him. He called Captain Leonard to
• 22:55
  find out what he wanted, but Leonard would only tell him to come to
• 22:56
  his office. When Doyle refused, Leonard told him he would get a warrant
• 23:02
  for his arrest. Doyle stated he has not committed any crime, and in
• 23:06
  order to protect himself, he contacted news channel TV thirteen in Houston, who
• 23:11
  in turn made some inquiry into the Sheriff's office, and he stated he has
• 23:15
  not been bothered further by anyone from the Sheriff's office. Doyle described Martin as
• 23:22
  a white male age forty two, six foot two, one hundred and twelve
• 23:30
  pounds, talk about a soak and wet string bean pole, good lord blemishes
• 23:37
  on his face and several small scars, ruddy complexion. He stated Martin has
• 23:41
  a drinking problem and very seldom eats well, no shit if he's weighing one
• 23:48
  hundred and twelve pounds. He stated also that Martin wears a mason or Masonic
• 23:53
  ring imagine that on his left index finger. Doyle stated that he had come
• 24:02
  to Houston from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to attend a horseshoeing school.

  He stated his parents reside in Las Crucis, and that he enlisted in the
• 24:15
  US Army in September of nineteen fifty nine, and that he received an undesirable
• 24:19
  discharge in May of sixty two for psychiatric reasons. He went on to state
• 24:25
  to the psychiatric condition under which he was discharged really not correct into much of
• 24:30
  the fake a psychotic condition in order to get out of the army. Doyle
• 24:36
  stated he has since tried to re enlist and tried to correct this black mark
• 24:40
  on his record. Doyle advised as he was born in nineteen forty two,
• 24:45
  five ten, one hundred and seventy pounds and stated he was leaving Houston with
• 24:48
  his wife on October first to live in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Thermopolis, Wyoming.

  On September the fourteenth, teen sixty eight, mister Natt Terrence and Jack
• 25:02
  Martin both telephonically contacted the Special Agent in charge of the FBI Houston and inquired
• 25:07
  as to whether or not Doyle had furnished any information to them. They requested
• 25:12
  information as to what information Doyle had furnished, if any, and state of
• 25:15
  the Doyle is a complete nut and anything he says cannot be believed both Terrence
• 25:22
  and Martin advised that they would be glad to furnish any information to the FBI
• 25:26
  to clarify this matter. This document contains neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI.

  It is the property of the FBI and is loaned to your agency,

  and it's contents or not to be distributed outside your agency. So take Doyle's

  story for what you will, Okay, is he a nut or not?

  Nut or not? And for whatever reason Jim Garrison decided not to use Jack

  Martin in his pursuit of Clay Shaw in the murder investigation of John F.
• 26:15
  Kennedy, Was because he was an alcoholic? Was because he was a nut?

  Or were there other reasons? I don't know. And many people that
• 26:30
  think that that's the end of the Jack Martin story, but it's not.

  In nineteen seventy seven, for the Householect Committee on Assassinations, our old friends
• 26:45
  Old J. Delson and Robert Bures tracked our old friend down Jack Martin in
• 26:56
  Louisiana, still in New Orleans and with him at the holiday end. So

  on December the fifth, nineteen seventy seven, investigators Robert Buris and Lord LJ.

  Delsa met Jack S. Martin at his hotel located at six eight Saint
• 27:17
  Charles Avenue. Mister Martin brought us to the hair a dice not like not
• 27:25
  like a tropical paradise, but hair dash, they dash dice like you're shaking

  your hand when you're playing a board game. Paradise Bar, these names,
• 27:38
  I love it. Located at Decatur in Benville Street in New Orleans. Martin

  stated, and we later confirmed at William Bill Little Horse DALs l work part

  time at the Paradise Bar. Now it has been but out there that William

  Bill Dolzel had CIA ties in the early sixties as well as Jack Martin.

  Yet they're still hanging around and they're still doing things there. The investigators and

  Jack Martin went to the Holiday Inn, located at one hundred block of Royal
• 28:21
  Street and conducted an interview. Martin stated he had been in New Orleans since
• 28:26
  fifty five or fifty six and he was now separated from his wife, Paula,
• 28:30
  who worked in the city Hall in New Orleans. Martin stated that he
• 28:37
  was a part time investigator and a part time writer. He served in World
• 28:41
  War Two in the Air Corps and served many years in the Pacific, where
• 28:45
  he did a lot of radio work, including military intelligence work on ships out
• 28:51
  of Pearl Harbor. He was near Pearl Harbor on December of the seventh,
• 28:56
  nineteen forty one, when the Japanese attack. He received an honorable discharged and
• 29:00
  his very anti communist. He told the investigators about a letter from retired General
• 29:07
  Claire Channel, which the investigators later read. The letter, General Channel asked
• 29:14
  Martin to help him and a group of Americans. It would work for General
• 29:18
  Chang Kai Shek. They would use World War Two fighters and capture ships going
• 29:23
  to mainland China and forced them to port and from Mosa. Martin stated that
• 29:29
  the plan fell through for lack of finances. Mister Martin stated that he has
• 29:34
  worked as an investigator for or furnished information to the following people in New Orleans,
• 29:40
  such as Mayor Victor Chiro of nineteen sixty to sixty eight By Banister,
• 29:47
  a private investigator, Aaron Cohne of the Metropolitan Crime Commission, Jim Garrison,
• 29:52
  then District Attorney to New Orleans, the Ray Gil Senior, a New Orleans
• 29:56
  attorney for Carlos Marcello, Mister Martin, and stated he had been closely associated
• 30:00
  with people that the Select Committee might be interested in, such as David Ferry.

  Well, of course he's dead, so they could be interested in him,
• 30:11
  but they can't interview him. David Ferry, he says, was an
• 30:15
  airline pilot for Eastern Airlines. He got fired because of homosexual problems. Ferry
• 30:21
  was a genius and an adventurer, and he was always luring young boys to
• 30:26
  him by his activities with the Civil Air Patrol, where he met Lee Harvey
• 30:30
  Oswald around nineteen fifty five. Ferry knew a lot about guns and kept them
• 30:37
  around his apartment. Jack Martin had seen Oswald with Ferry in Guy managed his
• 30:42
  office located at nineteen I'm Sorry, located with five thirty one Lafayette Street.

  On the day that President Kennedy was assassinated, Jack Martin saw a rifle when
• 30:52
  TV and remembered that he had seen one just like it in David Ferry's apartment.

  Martin called a friend there was an assistant, da Hermann Coleman, and

  told him about seeing Oswald. Was Ferry in about the gun which we read
• 31:07
  about earlier. Jack Martin feels that this was the first call anyone made to
• 31:11
  the New Orleans District Attorney, and as a result of that call, David
• 31:15
  Ferry's apartment was raided by special investigators of Jim Garrison. Ferry was later arrested
• 31:22
  and released. Jack Martin felt that the gun used might have belonged to Ferry,
• 31:29
  or he Oswald might have purchased the rifle from the same place that Ferry
• 31:33
  bought his. Martin stated that Ferry was very close to many Cubans and often
• 31:38
  wore army fatigues and allegedly trained with the Cubans. Ferry helped Sergio or Conscious
• 31:45
  Smith and made flights over Cuba, dropping supplies and possibly bombing runs. Some
• 31:52
  of the supplies that were dropped in Cuba came from the efforts of Bill William
• 31:56

  this matter. We then proceeded to the Hughes Funeral Home determined the present whereabouts

  of the ambulance driver for the Tippet shooting, a Jasper Clayton Butler. He

  is now an official of this company and the manager of one of their other

  funeral homes, also located in Dallas on Webb Chapel Road. Extensive investigation revealed

  Several trips in person were made to no avail. The lady was finally contacted

  on the phone, at which time she said she would return our call early

  food at which time. He verified the fact that he had employed JD.

  Tippett for three or four years. He worked Friday and Saturday nights from ten

  or eleven o'clock till two or three o'clock in the mornings. He indicated most

  of the trouble around the place happened around midnight. Described Tippett as a fine

  police officer, and on occasion I had overheard him telling rookies how to be

  cautious. Called to our attention the fact that Tippot had sustained what he called

  a war injury which prevented him from looking you in the eye. No more

  information with regard to the eye injury. He did say that Tippett was also

  employed as a security officer at the local movie house known as Stevens Park.

  He had a Tippets regular beat was quote not around here, meaning in the

  barbecue area. Mister Cook did acknowledge that Missus Witherspoon was employed as a waitress

  at the same time Tippett was employed as a security officer, but he provided

  no further information about a relationship. If in fact they had a relationship going

  at the time, he claims he was not privy to it. He does

  mention mister Knicks, the man who took some pictures of the Kennedy assassination.

  on the matter. The only thing of interest mister George could recall was some

  of the neighbors had called him at home, indicating that the Oswalds were having

  a fight, that mister Oswald was in effect beating her up. He advised

  the people to call the police. He didn't take care of those matters.

  The following day, though, he and his wife did stop by the apartment

  and invited to Oswalds to attend church with them. Apparently, Lee Harvey Oswald

  declined, indicating that he belonged to another church. Subsequent conversation with mister George

  indicated that he did, in fact have at his home. This is the

  only other side of town various records we might be interested in. We followed

  mister George to his home, whereby we made a tape with him that purports

  to recite the wording of an affidative that was given to the Warrant Commission at

  early sixty four. Following day the twenty seventh, we interviewed Irma Jeane van

  zand Day Maxwell and myself. This lady is a cousin of Jarman, one

  of the three men that were on the fifth floor of the depository. We
• 49:52
  recorded this interview made in her home with her husband and large dog present.

  Significantly, she gave her her sister's name Mary Hall and subsequent conversation with her
• 50:04
  husband, who incidentally took Lee Harvey Oswald's place at the depository, reveals the

  name of Shields. This was a black co worker of Oswald's in the book

  building, with whom he was extremely friendly. This was new information to us.

  So in addition to the tape, we have two witnesses in terms of

  Tippet Oswald conspiracy had been from the very beginning, compounded by the fact that

  several prospective witnesses met with untimely deaths. The combination of these circumstances prevented mister

  Pate from giving us much information in terms of detail. He did, however,

  recite the fact that his mechanic, mister White, died a natural death
• 52:00
  years ago, who had been listening to the radio in his garage about twelve
• 52:05
  to thirty on the twenty second day of November in nineteen sixty three. From

  twelve thirty till perhaps quarter of one, the radio was nothing but news about
• 52:14
  the assassination. And involved in this was some description in terms of a lookout
• 52:20
  of a red automobile. It just so happened that a red Falcon stopped out
• 52:24
  front and a man apparently the only app occupant, seated behind the wheel had
• 52:32
  what appeared to be clothing leaning clothing from the cleaners hanging in the rear of
• 52:37
  the car. His curiosity was aroused much like my penis. He walked out
• 52:45
  there to take a better look at the car and did jot the tag number
• 52:49
  down in Texas tag number. The man drove away Clothing Beckley, which is
• 52:54
  at the corner of Seventh Street where the shops located. Before the elderly mechanic
• 52:58
  returned as he saw the car disappear at the corner of Seventh and Beckley,
• 53:02
  he also noticed they used car lot on the corner was the attention had attracted
• 53:08
  the attention of two plain automobiles who were apparently being utilized by several FBI men
• 53:14
  armed with long guns either shot guns or machine gun. They stopped at the
• 53:19
  corner, took a man out of one of the cars and put him on
• 53:21
  the ground and searched him. It developed that it was the owner of the
• 53:25
  lot, but he did resemble and had a strong resemblance to Lee Harvey Oswald.

  This was interesting in view of the fact that this was about twelve forty

  five or twelve fifty, definitely before one o'clock, at least fifteen minutes before

  the allegedly before the Tippet shooting. Yet this is within three blocks of the

  Oswald roomy house located at ten twenty six Beckley. When mister Pate mister White's

  employer returned from lunch. Mister White reiterated the facts, including his opinion that

  he wanted in no way to become involved because he didn't want those men jerking

  him out of an automobile pointing those guns at him at the Pet acquiesce,

  but he did mention it to a good friend of his who was a prominent
• 54:09
  person in TV media at the time, west Wise. Within a couple of

  days, time Wise and pet did manage to glean the tag number from the

  old man, and their subsequent check revealed then instead of a red Falcon being

  parked in the driveway where the tags were listed, the correct tags were in
• 54:27
  the driveway, but they now were attached to a gray or green plymouth.

  This plymouth turns out to be a register to a Carl Mathers, who was

  a personal friend of JD. Tippett. This is interesting. The red Falcon

  or four. We've heard about it from the testimony the man driving the pickup

  truck, Benavets at the Tippot shooting. We've heard about the gray Plymouth with

  the Tippet shooting from Frank and Mary Wright of five h one tenth Street,

  and that's the corner of tenth and then the following day Wednesday, the twenty

  eighth week, canvassed the area of Beckley and Seventh with Davis, or and

  Davis. They used car lots. They've been quite they've been, they've there.

  fact that Don, as he's known Ben of Vive's, had a brother,

  Eddie. Eddie was shot and killed a couple of months after the assassination while

  buy Fair Park. According to the man on the used car lot, he

  was just entering when two men in business suits he claimed was the first time

  anybody wearing business suits ever entered this joint and walked in earlier, and one

  of the two men was armed with a shotgun and shot Eddie Ben of Eves

  in the face and then left in a sixty one or sixty to four door

  sedan, white in color with Iowa or Ohio tags. He described him as

  two white men. Other than the business suits and the shotgun, there were

  no further descriptions. He added to Don is now somewhere in California. His

  line of Endeavor has been described as an autobody man. We interviewed people in

  all the used car lots, perhaps a half a dozen in this particular area,

  and ultimately we located Leo Holmes, who has the homes lot on David

  Street and who did remember incidents about that time, but he claimed the man

  we were looking for was Phineas Homes. Subsequent investigation revealed that Phineas is very

  elderly and sick. We were able to contact him on the telephone only we

  were invited not to visit his home, at which time he vaguely remembered the

  incident with the FBI and the shotguns, but declined to discuss it, indicating

  he was too sick and under no circumstances did he want to talk about this

  matter. All things considered, we decided not to pursue it. We then

  met on masks at the Schoolbooks Depository named mister William Smith of the Department of

  Public Works met us there with the key to the front door, and we

  were allowed to examine it at our leisure the entire cremises, at which time
