  What an introduction. Yo, it's finally happening,

  happen. 14 times in the front seat of two cars.

  Because because the beautiful thing about us is we don't shut

  the fuck up. Yeah, even when we should even,

  There's only one time. I remember where we got in the

  car. We looked at each other and were

  like we're not talking. Just put music on.

  I'm sleeping. Actually twice.

  It happened twice. It's gonna happen again.

  Yeah, the first time was iwa where we did Forty Nine matches,

  and one day 39, but still, that's already mine.

  Third year. I thought it was 40 but it's 39

  matches in one day and then the second time was contest of
• 3:29
  Champions. Because that was a long, long
• 3:32
  day, that was a marathon that was full 24 hours, like we left.

  Your house at what 3:00 in the morning.

  Yeah. And got home.

  I got home at like 5:00 in the morning.
• 3:43
  Yeah. That was a long day.

  They are the only two times we got in the car were like we're
• 3:47
  not talking to each other. Meanwhile you wake up and look

  over, I'm at the gym at the wheel going.

  Stay upstairs. I think it Parkinson's.

  I thought it was. I thought.

  Yeah, that you're in trouble. You're shaking violently.

  Just try to get on like I'm taking over.

  I got enough of a nap. Yeah, I drove your car.

  That was kind of fun. Yeah, yeah.

  You moved my seat. To it took like a week for me to

  figure out how to get it back of the perfect spot.

  But yeah, man. So we met each other via
• 4:17
  commentary, this world of professional wrestling
• 4:19
  commentary. I believe I met you at a
• 4:22
  backbreaker show and we kind of correspond to a little bit there
• 4:26
  and then I was brought in to sanctuary and that's kind of
• 4:30
  where we really fell into each other and I was brand new to
• 4:33
  commentary. I think my first-ever commentary
• 4:35
  gig was the night before. For a ppw and I had a secondary
• 4:40
  the same weekend with you and ppw, we just kind of like there
• 4:44
  you go kid have at it and I was with Paul bow and and Julia's
• 4:48
  Kuiper. So they're very, very talented.
• 4:50
  So they East me and really well and I just kind of had to feed
• 4:52
  off them. And then the next night was just
• 4:54
  a two-man booth and it was me and you and you kind of gave me
• 4:58
  some pointers. The I learned a lot about how
• 4:59
  you do things and we'll kind of dive into that a little bit on
• 5:02
  the podcast as we keep going, but and then we did an entire
• 5:05
  season at the sanctuary and I credit ton of my commentary
• 5:10
  abilities and if people say I'm talented or maybe good at this
• 5:13
  at some somewhat form or fashion, I could have to you
• 5:16
  because you taught me how to prepare yourself.
• 5:19
  Prepare myself for a show, how to get notes for things.
• 5:21
  Had a look up things that I've used that every single time I go
• 5:25
  places now and but still finding my own way to get things done as
• 5:29
  well, not completely carbon copying but that first season
• 5:32
  the sanctuary man was really, really special for me and the
• 5:35
  Beautiful part about that season.
• 5:37
  It was Friday shows, Saturday shows and Sunday shows for like
• 5:40
  six months straight. Yeah.
• 5:41
  And we got a lot. I probably have more reps in my
• 5:44
  first year of commentary than most people do in like three
• 5:47
  years of commentary. Because if you work at one
• 5:49
  promotion, did run 12 shows a year.
• 5:51
  If you're lucky, you get 12 reps in one year.
• 5:54
  I had 12 in like the first month.
• 5:57
  So, like it was, it was special. Yeah, the sanctuary was
• 6:00
  fantastic. I mean, I just like you, I
• 6:03
  credit that place and my reps there in hell.
• 6:06
  Beeping me to shape, you know? My my my stuff going forward and
• 6:13
  like you said, that was your second show and I didn't, you
• 6:16
  know, they brought you on I was so excited to have you on there
• 6:19
  with me. I was because I knew you had the
• 6:22
  background in, you know, broadcasting and what not.
• 6:25
  And you're like, hey this is my second show ever.
• 6:27
  Yes, it was my first and I'm like, this is gonna be this is
• 6:31
  gonna suck. But I mean, you picked it up and
• 6:35
  we were off and running. And that that season that we
• 6:38
  were there, I think was probably the most fun year I had on
• 6:41
  commentary. We had a blast and you know the
• 6:45
  the sanctuary was utilized the way that everyone utilizes the
• 6:49
  sanctuary to get in the Reps and to hone your craft to sharpen
• 6:52
  your skills. And I think that's what we did.
• 6:55
  And I think if I didn't have that opportunity, you know,
• 6:58
  thanks to John and rosh for reaching out to me and have me
• 7:01
  come in and I think I didn't have that opportunity.
• 7:04
  I wouldn't have been able to kind of No round the corners,
• 7:08
  and kind of shine my craft up a little bit before I went off and
• 7:12
  did other things. So.
• 7:13
  Yeah, and it was fun to because like we were at the point to
• 7:16
  where we kind of like found our style that I would say is
• 7:21
  different from what you would normally listen to on TV
• 7:23
  commentary. Like, I think if you were to
• 7:25
  break this down your, the play-by-play, I'm color, but we
• 7:29
  also figure out a way to kind of blend the lines between both and
• 7:33
  do that very well. Like, we don't really have that
• 7:35
  Blaine like Pete. The color play-by-play, and I'm
• 7:38
  only color like, sometimes on color, I'll call the move and it
• 7:41
  just, it just, we just have this flow natural.
• 7:44
  We kind of blend the lines between the two and I think it
• 7:46
  works very well. Yeah, I don't know if anybody
• 7:49
  would see that as a detriment or something that that's, that's
• 7:52
  less than favorable. But that's just the way I work.
• 7:56
  And that's the way you work. And I'm more comfortable doing
• 7:58
  that and I've been in situations, where people say,
• 8:00
  I'm going to do color, you do play-by-play and I say, all
• 8:02
  right and I do my best to stick with, you know, the the the
• 8:05
  angle that I need to come from. But I always I always end up
• 8:09
  blending, the two and and I just I get excited, you know?
• 8:11
  I mean, I mean that's the style that I bring that that I'm just
• 8:16
  I come at it as if I'm just watching it in the, you know, in
• 8:20
  my living room, with a couple of friends and I get excited and
• 8:22
  pumped up and whatnot and and I forget where I'm at.
• 8:25
  So, a lot of times and I mean, and I mean, you know, I try to
• 8:30
  do, I always try to approach it, like, with a specific voice
• 8:35
  because I'd like to emulate what I see.
• 8:40
  I ambulate, what I see on television and say, okay, can I
• 8:43
  go? Can I fit into that?
• 8:44
  And I try to make it grandiose and work on my intros and work
• 8:48
  on my outros and try to be the straight man, but then you come
• 8:51
  in and monkey dick right into it every time and then it
• 8:56
  eventually turned into you just trying to break me.
• 8:58
  And and we you know because of that we had some of the best
• 9:01
  times man. Yeah and a lot of times where
• 9:04
  I'm trying to break you, I don't tell you what's coming.
• 9:06
  We do Don't forget we don't plan anything out and I started doing
• 9:09
  that at the sanctuary. I remember saying something
• 9:11
  funny and I remember you just like taking your mic and going I
• 9:15
  just dying laughing and it made it.
• 9:18
  My confidence level shot straight up.
• 9:21
  And I was like, all right, how do I keep interjecting that?
• 9:23
  But not making it about myself? But like, but that's a thing.
• 9:27
  Like, I don't want to make it all about my cell but I think at
• 9:30
  some point in time, your commentary team, if you're
• 9:31
  strong enough you should be part of the show as well and people
• 9:34
  should like my feel. That's what we've kind of built.
• 9:37
  Like, people look forward in certain promotions to us on
• 9:40
  commentary because of what we bring to the table, like we're
• 9:42
  part of the show and that feels good, we're not just back.
• 9:45
  Noise like some place, some commentary people are just
• 9:47
  background and they're just generic commentary and there's
• 9:50
  nothing wrong with that but I think we bring that Dynamic
• 9:53
  where people are like well what's Pete and Tony going to
• 9:55
  say you know what I mean? And that's the struggle you
• 9:57
  know? Because you don't like you said
• 9:59
  you don't want to put yourself over more than what you're
• 10:01
  calling. You don't want to be try to be
• 10:03
  the show more than what you're, you know, what's going on.
• 10:05
  And so you have to find that balance between Fading Into the
• 10:08
  background and jumping out at the in front of what's going on.
• 10:13
  And I think, I mean, I don't know.
• 10:15
  So, if we, if we struggled all that much in the beginning, I
• 10:18
  think it was pretty. I think it was pretty natural
• 10:20
  the way we kind of slid into that, into those positions and
• 10:24
  and did pretty well for ourselves in that respect.
• 10:26
  I think my favorite break for you is when we were sitting, we
• 10:30
  are at is plenty to choose from. Yeah.
• 10:32
  They're my favorite one though. Is it?
• 10:34
  I don't think anyone really listen to it, or heard it, but
• 10:36
  it was one of my favorites because it was like a long
• 10:38
  telling story like a long telling joke that was going on
• 10:41
  the whole show, but it was subtle.
• 10:43
  But the whole time we were at an outdoor, Show under a tent and
• 10:47
  it rained the night before. So, your chair where you were
• 10:50
  sitting, just kept sinking into the mud.
• 10:52
  And you kept saying, I'm following in my chair is sinking
• 10:55
  ago. Well, maybe that's a sign Pete
• 10:57
  to lose some weight. You like, look at you.
• 10:58
  You son of a bitch. Like, you broke a like started
• 11:01
  lashing out at me and then halfway through the match Bad
• 11:04
  Company came over and took. I didn't give up my chair, but
• 11:08
  you gave up yours and they took the chair and he goes, I think
• 11:11
  you said well, my chair and I said, yeah, you can tell about
• 11:15
  Holders of it. The legs are covered in mud.

  Yeah. You're like you son?
• 11:19
  And that's another one. You move the mic.

  And you like, it's but it's fun and like and and I'd like the
• 11:27
  sanctuary to like we kind of experimented with the he'll face
• 11:31
  and then like, hey this show I'm going to do play-by-play and you
• 11:34
  do color. And like we just we would just
• 11:37
  because like not saying no one listened to the sanctuary, but
• 11:39
  we were kind of re bringing that Sanctuary commentary back into
• 11:42
  the fold anyway, and we were just experimenting and Better
• 11:45
  and, and taking it to that place and it was, it was awesome.
• 11:49
  And I don't know, and I love the way how it carried on and it's,
• 11:52
  and essentially, we're like becoming jerseys commentary
• 11:56
  team. Everywhere we go.
• 11:57
  It's, it's will say something about, saying, all this stuff
• 12:00
  with Sanctuary, I just want to just one more time, you know, a
• 12:03
  big thanks to to John troske for getting us in there and allowing
• 12:07
  us to do that because we would go to John and say, Hey, listen,
• 12:10
  what do you think about this? You know, how do you, how do you
• 12:13
  feel about us doing this or do any, and He says, just just go,
• 12:16
  just do it. I trust you guys and we did.
• 12:18
  We looked at it. We would look at each other.
• 12:20
  All right, this is, I guess we're doing this and let's go
• 12:23

  fantastic. This is gonna be the breakout

  year, man. I'm telling you, I would, I

  really gave us an opportunity to shine and spread our wings and

  I'll be eternally grateful for that.

  And you know, the following Then the season ended and the next

  season came up. And I said, man, I don't know if

  I'm gonna be able to swing this because my Sunday bookings were
• 12:52
  coming up, and then I was getting booked a lot more.

  And, you know, the time home with the family was becoming
• 12:57
  more and more precious and, and you know, Sunday's were like ha
• 13:02
  men. And then I found out that you
• 13:05
  and Brian were doing at you, and you will be P Burke.
• 13:08
  And I said, all right, it's I'm good now and then I heard you
• 13:11
  guys on there and I said, I said that's this.
• 13:13
  That's their place now man. You, and you and Burke, you'll
• 13:17
  be p'burg really took over that place and and did it right and
• 13:21
  you're doing spectacularly and I hope that the two of you are
• 13:23
  going to come back for the next season because you just be doing
• 13:26
  really, really well, I appreciate it.

  Yeah. And I just right before this I
• 13:31
  watched Prince Ahmed, it just posted like a like a compilation
• 13:35
  video and the end was was him being crowned at the sanctuary
• 13:41
  and the The Narrative was you describing what like Calling
• 13:45
  like what's going on and now I'm mad.
• 13:47
  You know, the, his ancestors looking down and proud and it
• 13:49
  was just, I forgot, I forgot about how good that that wasn't.
• 13:53
  You just knocked it out of the park in that moment, it was
• 13:55
  really good. And that was a cool thing too.

  Is like, a lot of talent would just kind of trust us to be
• 14:00
  like, hey, this is kind of what I'm going for roll with it.
• 14:02
  And then like, Ahmed was one who really said like between you and
• 14:06
  Pete and Brian, like you guys, you guys are putting more into
• 14:09
  my character than I ever thought of like like he's like I kind of
• 14:13
  thought I was doing that with my submission game.
• 14:15
  But the way you describe it, and how I pinpoint something and
• 14:18
  like using the Assassin's Creed references and stuff like that.
• 14:21
  Like because I never thought of that for my character and then
• 14:24
  like we and then having talent are naming moves, we made move
• 14:28
  his last year, like we gave people new moves for their
• 14:30
  finisher because I don't tell us or like, we're naming it where
• 14:32
  David tonight. But, yeah, he would, he would
• 14:34
  say like, I don't know, come up with something and then and then
• 14:37
  the following week, I would I would actually look up.
• 14:40
  I remember, Googling Egyptian torture and looking up like
• 14:43
  historical stuff and I think that one of some Pharaoh, I
• 14:46
  forget his name now and had a written down, but I guess he was
• 14:49
  a very cruel pharaoh. And he was, and he was known for
• 14:52
  like mutilating people. And he actually took a city in
• 14:58
  where he was and put a wall around it and put all the people
• 15:01
  that he mutilated into this city.
• 15:03
  So this one city was known for all its inhabitants were people
• 15:06
  that were computed, like melt like disfigured and answered and
• 15:10
  by this guy. And so I said, I got it, I got
• 15:13
  to work that in and so, I saw Um, how it worked in that he,
• 15:16
  you know, he wants to reopen the walls of whatever the name of
• 15:18
  the city was or whatever that. And, and it got me, it got my
• 15:22
  creative juices, going. Now that I'm thinking about it,
• 15:24
  Blackwell that, you know, I don't, I don't know if I don't
• 15:27
  about you, but I don't know if I would be where I'm where I am
• 15:30
  right now, or if I would have been in the situations that I've
• 15:33
  been in, if it weren't for the sanctuary because we met, that's
• 15:36
  where we met. That's where he met PJ Savage,
• 15:39
  that's room at Ahmed. That's where we met the faceless
• 15:42
  ones bujji you know, Jazz ha. Thorn all these guys that we now
• 15:47
  see on the Indies in other promotions.
• 15:50
  And, you know, some of those people put put out the good word
• 15:54
  for us. Say, listen, I know these guys
• 15:56
  they call are. They actually, well, you know,
• 15:58
  give them a try and we've gotten in there and now, you know, now
• 16:01
  we're, you know, we got opportunities there and I don't
• 16:04
  think if it were for the sanctuary to meet those people
• 16:07
  and make those those relationships.
• 16:09
  I don't think it would have worked with the same way.
• 16:11
  Yeah, no, absolutely. And the gone back to the BP.
• 16:15
  Is it was a lot of times we went to the sanctuary and somebody
• 16:18
  else would come in and I kind of got shit for this.

  I'll talk a little bit a little bit.

  I just found out about this couple weeks ago, but there was
• 16:25
  moments where we were at shows and people be like, hey Chachi
• 16:29
  like I want to bring this person into having try out on
• 16:31
  commentary and there'd be times where I was like, what first?
• 16:35
  I would be like frustrated because it'd be like, man, I
• 16:36
  can't, it's hard to develop a flow.
• 16:38
  And then once I got to the point of the sanctuaries, like yo I'm
• 16:40
  here all the time. I'm getting four weeks or like
• 16:42
  three or four ups are weak and then somebody would come In
• 16:45
  about to just take the whole show and work with Pete because
• 16:47
  it helped me so much. So I would step away from
• 16:49
  commentary completely and put Brian in there, put Maestro in
• 16:54
  there. Who was the guy that used to
• 16:55
  roll up with Jack Manley? Jack Manley.
• 16:58
  And I was like to just stay in there and they're like, well
• 17:00
  don't you want to rap? I said I'm here all the time.
• 17:02
  This is 20 minutes from me. This is not a far drive.
• 17:05
  I'm not traveling as far as you guys are and I really honored
• 17:08
  your work and what you did and what you did for me and how
• 17:11
  comfortable you made me feel as a commentary person.
• 17:13
  So I was like to just take the Reps and Do it, like, take the
• 17:15
  whole show because if I come in and do a match and then put you
• 17:18
  in and then you do a match and then I take you out and then we
• 17:20
  rotate. You don't develop a flow in a
• 17:22
  show and that's a disservice to a commentary person.
• 17:25
  So it's like just a pointer to commentary out.
• 17:28
  There are people who are out there, running promotions, stop
• 17:31
  making commentary spot where you just stick somebody because you
• 17:33
  have nothing else for them to do and and don't have them.
• 17:36
  Do the one or two match thing if they've tried, if they're trying
• 17:38
  to make this a thing because it's hard to develop a flow,
• 17:40
  just give somebody a full show just like, you know, I mean like
• 17:43
  let them work and I know one of Ace Austin's, boys came in and
• 17:47
  sat with me for a couple shows. He did really well, I can't
• 17:50
  remember his name, he had a, yeah, she had a cool name.
• 17:52
  I forget what it was though, but I ended up enjoy it.
• 17:55
  Like, at first, it kind of made me nervous but I ended up
• 17:57
  enjoying that because it helped me to kind of like stretch, you
• 18:01
  know, stretch my muscles there and kind of like, say, okay
• 18:03
  let's let's try this, let's try something different.
• 18:05
  You know, being able to adapt in a different situation and over
• 18:09
  the last two years I'm sure you've you know you've learned
• 18:12
  just as much as I have that Indian wrestling you Need to
• 18:15
  learn how to adapt to changing scenarios all the time.
• 18:19
  And you know, be able to switch off to be able to work with with
• 18:24
  different people and whatnot because things change in a
• 18:26
  moment's notice. And I think that got me more
• 18:28
  comfortable with it and at the same time, it got us more
• 18:30
  comfortable, be got us more creative because when Jack
• 18:33
  Manley would come in, you know, he was involved in the story
• 18:36
  lines with with, with the Walker Clan and whatnot and because of
• 18:40
  that, we decided to try and figure out ways to bring him in,
• 18:43
  reasons for him being there. Reason number one of us stepping
• 18:46
  out, you know, so we would come up with a little story so it got
• 18:50
  us to do things for us. There was even a storyline going
• 18:52
  on with the commentary team, you know?
• 18:54
  And and the and it didn't overshadow anything else that
• 18:59
  was going on, you know? So I it was, it was a way to get
• 19:02
  us more creative with what we were doing and work on the Fly
• 19:05
  and change at a moment's notice. And that's, that's huge in India
• 19:09
  wrestling because stuff changes all the time.
• 19:11
  And at the very last moment, you know, and and kind of like the
• 19:16
  thought of how you said how like oh someone trust you enough to
• 19:18
  be their first person like the hey, go with this person.
• 19:21
  He's good. He will make you comfortable.
• 19:23
  That happened to me a few times to like at Camp LeapFrog doing
• 19:25
  like the the the pre-show stuff is like, hey, I'm going to put
• 19:28
  you on the pre-show a black hole because he'll help you be and I
• 19:31
  work with Kai and McKenna and working with a lot of talent who
• 19:33
  never done commentary and they're like, hey, what is this?
• 19:35
  Your first time? I was like, this is like my
• 19:36
  second week. Yeah, I mean like, you know, I
• 19:39
  mean but it was like, it feels good to have that opportunity to
• 19:41
  work with people. You're saying, and get those
• 19:43
  creative juices flowing. Another interesting thing with
• 19:46
  commentary that's kind of happened to me since then is
• 19:48
  like now people want to work angles with me on commentary
• 19:52
  we're like so it kind of started with Ricky and I don't know if
• 19:55
  you're aware of this but somebody has Shore star wants to
• 19:57
  start doing it as well. Oh really?
• 19:59
  Yeah somebody on Shore start wants to have a commentary.

  I guess, my heel Works getting good because people want to
• 20:06
  start Riley luring the commentary team which means that
• 20:09
  we're doing our job. You don't really know right?
• 20:11
  Yeah, sure. Yeah, I have no problem.

  Most of all, I'm sorry. We're a little bit of people
• 20:20
  like after the show like, hey, I actually don't hate you because,
• 20:23

  the warm-up seminar, what not a drills once he was done with

  There's almost 200 people there. We got a match.

  So I'm there with with 10 really good commentators, really good

  Some of the were were announcers most other commentators but they

  were all willing to jump on the mic and I said, alright, let's

  let's make this happen. Two guys at a time, a third

  listening. And then once the match is over,

  have them stand up to more people sit down and whoever was

  these guys what I thought of what they did while Kevin

  the manager thing no problem. So I but in the meantime you got

  a couple of guys call him matches and looking around going

  So finally I get them hooked up. And you know, thankfully we got

  like 80 matches to go. So I come back over and I sit

  down and Kevin Kelly. Came back a few times and he was

  able to jump in and give some feedback.

  But, but I would say, 75% of it was me.

  And one guy in particular I gave I gave a critique to and the

  next time he went in, he listened, he tried it out and it

  was better and I pulled him aside and I was like, that's

  that gave me a little bit of confidence in this coaching

  ability that I didn't know I had.

  And then we went like Timur matches and we got into a flow.
