- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to another episode of Star Wars Alliance
- 0:25Speaker 2: Your home. Wait. Oh, I tried to I just tried
- 0:28Speaker 2: to do your intro and I totally forgot everything. Geez
- 0:31Speaker 2: luise oh man, But yeah, Star Wars Alliance guys, we
- 0:36Speaker 2: are here.
- 0:37Speaker 3: It is Uh.
- 0:38Speaker 4: It's been a weird week for me.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'll be completely honest, but I am here like always
- 0:43Speaker 2: with Katie. Katie, how you doing?
- 0:46Speaker 5: Hello, guys. You know I'm doing okay. How a migraine
- 0:50Speaker 5: feel this week? So that has been fun?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's that's just.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah. So I told Katie that I would share my
- 0:59Speaker 2: story with the rest of the clas my week has been
- 1:01Speaker 2: oh so fun. We've had some sewage slash like just
- 1:07Speaker 2: pipes problems, I would say. I was making chili the
- 1:13Speaker 2: other day and as one does when you open a
- 1:17Speaker 2: can of beans, you pour the you know, the.
- 1:23Speaker 4: The weird syrupy water into your.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Sink, and there was a little bit of water at
- 1:30Speaker 2: the very bottom.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, this is probably the trap.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I need to take it out once I finished with
- 1:34Speaker 2: all this blah blah blah, and I just I noticed
- 1:37Speaker 2: that there was water at the bottom of the sink.
- 1:39Speaker 2: When I was pouring it, I did three different types
- 1:42Speaker 2: of beans, so I had to do it three different times.
- 1:46Speaker 2: My brain registered or half of this. My eyes registered
- 1:51Speaker 2: what was happening in the sink. My brain did not
- 1:53Speaker 2: because I saw more water and I didn't turn it on,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and there was more water in the sink, and I
- 2:02Speaker 2: was like, I didn't pour that much juice into the sink.
- 2:05Speaker 2: That's weird anyway, And I'm just cooking, doing whatever. I
- 2:09Speaker 2: finally finished the chili and then I'm cleaning dishes at
- 2:15Speaker 2: the end of the night and the water is just
- 2:17Speaker 2: not going down. I'm like, what the world is going on?
- 2:20Speaker 2: I'm like, something stuck. I clear out the trap. Everything's fine.
- 2:24Speaker 4: We I literally.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Like, hose down my plunger, take it to the sink.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I have to legit, like plunge my sink at this point.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's so gross. And Abby's like, you know what, sometimes
- 2:42Speaker 2: if I am running the dishwasher, the water kind of
- 2:48Speaker 2: sucks down the sink when I do that, and I
- 2:51Speaker 2: was like, Okay, let's do it. She ran the dishwasher
- 2:56Speaker 2: and I was wearing gloves at this point because it
- 2:58Speaker 2: was just all I was wearing gloves at this point,
- 3:01Speaker 2: and I was kind of feeling around the drain and
- 3:05Speaker 2: immediately felt cold, cold ice like water hitting my hand
- 3:14Speaker 2: in the glove, and I was like, something's happening. I'm
- 3:16Speaker 2: just gonna wait. And the water just kept rising and
- 3:19Speaker 2: rising and rising and rising. No, and so I was like,
- 3:23Speaker 2: cut it off, cut it off. So Abby turned it off,
- 3:26Speaker 2: and we're like, okay, we're just gonna have to just
- 3:28Speaker 2: wait until you know, uh, tomorrow, and then we'll call
- 3:33Speaker 2: the apartment complex and everything will be fine. And because
- 3:38Speaker 2: we looked it up, it's not an emergency unless it's flooding,
- 3:44Speaker 2: so we're like okay. So we're like, okay, it's not
- 3:45Speaker 2: an emergency. We stopped it in time. Everything's fine. We'll
- 3:48Speaker 2: just take everything out of the sink onto the counter
- 3:51Speaker 2: and we'll have to deal with all of this tomorrow.
- 3:53Speaker 2: And so we, you know, did our bedtime routine and
- 3:56Speaker 2: everything else, and all of a sudden, while I am
- 3:58Speaker 2: putting amberl into bed, all here is.
- 4:02Speaker 4: It's overflowing.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It's overflowing. It's overflowing. It's overflowing, it's overflowing, and I
- 4:06Speaker 2: run into the kitchen. Abby has like six towels on
- 4:11Speaker 2: the counter and on the floor, she gets a storage tub,
- 4:15Speaker 2: is having it on the ground and is getting bowls
- 4:19Speaker 2: of sink water and having to pour it into this
- 4:22Speaker 2: giant storage tub. It was absolutely gross, and we eventually
- 4:30Speaker 2: like we have to I was like, okay, it is
- 4:32Speaker 2: officially an emergency.
- 4:34Speaker 4: It's flooding. We have to do this.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So we had somebody come in with a shop back,
- 4:40Speaker 2: sucked everything out and they took one look under our
- 4:43Speaker 2: sink and they're like, somebody did not do this correctly.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I was like, cool, can you fix it? He's like,
- 4:55Speaker 2: I can't put the plumber tomorrow. Can I was like, okay,
- 4:59Speaker 2: So what do we do? I just don't use anything
- 5:02Speaker 2: on this side of the house when it comes to water.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I was like, cool. There is like disgusting, smelly, dirty
- 5:12Speaker 2: towels now just sitting in the washing machine that is
- 5:15Speaker 2: on that side of the house. So we're just waiting,
- 5:20Speaker 2: and the very next day the plumber came through. He
- 5:26Speaker 2: did everything, and he's like, yeah, So the way they
- 5:32Speaker 2: built the sink with the pipes is basically they're forcing
- 5:38Speaker 2: the sink the drain. They're forcing the drain to drain
- 5:42Speaker 2: upward instead of just going downward. And so it basically
- 5:48Speaker 2: forces backup to just kind of sit and settle. And
- 5:55Speaker 2: then Abby today said, hey, when I woke up, there
- 6:00Speaker 2: was water still underneath the sink, so we have to
- 6:04Speaker 2: call them again tomorrow not to deal with that.
- 6:10Speaker 5: So yeah, good, yea.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So much fun now. I will say the hindsight is
- 6:18Speaker 2: twenty twenty because this is an apartment. If this was
- 6:20Speaker 2: our house, I'll be like I would have to deal
- 6:24Speaker 2: with all that, yeah, because I'm sure Abby would just
- 6:26Speaker 2: be like, hey, we gotta move. Yeah, it's like, hey, like, hey,
- 6:31Speaker 2: game over this. This is uh, We're gonna have to
- 6:34Speaker 2: just find a whole new house for this. But yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 2: that's that's the only good part about it. Now. I
- 6:42Speaker 2: have heard that like sometimes depending on the reasoning of
- 6:45Speaker 2: why everything is happening, it could like be a fine
- 6:50Speaker 2: of like five hundred dollars. Of course, if like you,
- 6:54Speaker 2: if people are like putting things down the sink that
- 6:56Speaker 2: you're not supposed to and like that.
- 6:59Speaker 4: It all looks like it's literally the building's fault.
- 7:02Speaker 5: So that's good.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I'm not paying a penny out of my pocket for
- 7:07Speaker 2: any of this, So I'm okay with that exactly exactly.
- 7:14Speaker 2: But guys, we do have a very possible short episode
- 7:18Speaker 2: for you guys tonight. We are talking about the Mandalorian
- 7:22Speaker 2: season two point five today and uh, we have a
- 7:28Speaker 2: new trailer for Maul, which included the titles of the episodes.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I did not actually see the titles of the episodes,
- 7:38Speaker 2: so Katie, you will have to inform us of those. Yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 2: but I'm so glad that Katie did not clock at
- 7:48Speaker 2: all that I did not say the Book of Boba
- 7:51Speaker 2: Fett at all in my intro just now I said
- 7:54Speaker 2: Mandalorian two point five again, So yeah, we are gonna
- 7:58Speaker 2: be talking about the Book of Boba fet and that
- 8:00Speaker 2: I that's probably more of a like this is what
- 8:05Speaker 2: we think about the entire show type of ordeal. But
- 8:09Speaker 2: we'll talk about it. That's gonna be our main topic
- 8:11Speaker 2: for tonight. But yeah, Katie, what did you think about
- 8:16Speaker 2: the new trailer for a Shadow Lord?
- 8:21Speaker 5: So I only managed to watch the trailer once. I
- 8:27Speaker 5: actually kind of dug it. It goes a little more
- 8:29Speaker 5: spooky vibes than it did on the previous uh trailer.
- 8:37Speaker 5: I like how they talk about the partnership between Maul
- 8:42Speaker 5: and the apprentice in this which I can't remember her name, again, Devin.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Devin is our That's right, And so I'm super intrigued
- 9:01Speaker 5: to see how this is going to go because it
- 9:03Speaker 5: looks like, uh, the alien dude that we didn't know
- 9:09Speaker 5: the species of is actually her Jedi master and they're
- 9:12Speaker 5: both kind of in hiding on the run vibes. So
- 9:19Speaker 5: I'm curious to see how this will go. I never
- 9:22Speaker 5: Adrian said he wanted to join this week, and I
- 9:25Speaker 5: forgot to check if he wanted that.
- 9:31Speaker 4: I'll reach out to him.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And wait, was was he specifically wanting to talk about
- 9:39Speaker 2: the book above effect?
- 9:40Speaker 4: Because then I know he's.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Had a lot in his life going on at the moment.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yes he does. I've actually uh uh talk to him
- 9:50Speaker 2: about it very briefly, but yeah, he has some stuff
- 9:53Speaker 2: going on.
- 9:55Speaker 5: So I totally forgot Adrian. So let me let me
- 10:00Speaker 5: see if I if you're still on, I'll shoot you
- 10:02Speaker 5: the Yes, I want to sign in a slice of.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Katie one thing before we jump into like main topic
- 10:17Speaker 2: stuff that I did send you, And I do think
- 10:19Speaker 2: that it was a hilarious social media moment for Star
- 10:23Speaker 2: Wars Is at the Oscars. You got to see uh,
- 10:28Speaker 2: Sigourney Weaver and Pedro Pascal. Uh I forgot what they
- 10:34Speaker 2: were uh presenting? Uh, but they presented together. Pedro completely
- 10:42Speaker 2: shaved his face completely babyface.
- 10:45Speaker 6: It was.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It was.
- 10:45Speaker 6: I was not expecting that it was a little weird,
- 10:49Speaker 6: but Grogu was in the audience and Kate Hudson was
- 10:55Speaker 6: sitting right next to them, and like, again, guys, I
- 10:58Speaker 6: shouldn't be too weirried out.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Grogu is technically like a fifty year.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Old man, but whatnot. But the way that she was
- 11:04Speaker 2: kind of like doing this, like this whole thing with
- 11:06Speaker 2: her finger and everything as Sigourney Waiver was just.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Like, get away from him, you bitch. That was hilarious.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I could not stop laughing, and so I had to
- 11:18Speaker 2: send it to Katie because it was absolutely hilarious. And
- 11:20Speaker 2: I do think like, hey, this is a small moment
- 11:24Speaker 2: that can help with marketing towards the movie.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Yep, unlike you know the super Bowl commercials.
- 11:30Speaker 5: So oh, okay, back to the trailer.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, so I really.
- 11:40Speaker 5: I really enjoyed the trailer. I'm looking forward to getting
- 11:44Speaker 5: to actually see the show, and they're starting to ramp
- 11:49Speaker 5: up production a lot right now, like uh, Star Wars
- 11:53Speaker 5: had done has done a couple of social media videos
- 11:56Speaker 5: with Sam Whitward, like answering fan questions and stuff. So
- 11:59Speaker 5: I'd love to see that, especially for an animated show,
- 12:02Speaker 5: because I feel like bad Batch didn't really get that
- 12:07Speaker 5: support in publication or preview for the season. Sorry, And
- 12:17Speaker 5: so I like that they're doing a little bit more.
- 12:19Speaker 5: They're putting a little bit more effort into things. And
- 12:22Speaker 5: maybe it's because it's Sam Whitwere, maybe it's for other reasons,
- 12:26Speaker 5: who knows. So I'm continuing to like enjoy what they're
- 12:32Speaker 5: putting out, basically, is what I'm saying. What did you
- 12:36Speaker 5: think about the trailer?
- 12:37Speaker 2: I really enjoyed it. Kind of playing off of what
- 12:41Speaker 2: you had said, I think the most interesting aspect, and
- 12:45Speaker 2: I think that is it's of course very much on purpose,
- 12:48Speaker 2: that's what marketing is for. But the way that this
- 12:51Speaker 2: trailer surrounds itself around the relationship between Mall and the
- 13:00Speaker 2: hesitancy with Devon Uh Divon Azara, you know, because there
- 13:12Speaker 2: was there was that one moment where that that person
- 13:14Speaker 2: I can't even remember what species they were, but they're like,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you can never trust Maul, he will never.
- 13:26Speaker 5: We don't know what alien species is, but the Master's
- 13:29Speaker 5: name is Eco.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Dio Daki Diodaki. Okay. Yeah, that it was just like
- 13:35Speaker 2: they very much emphasized like, hey, he is never going
- 13:39Speaker 2: to be the good guy. You can never trust him,
- 13:44Speaker 2: which is very very interesting. I love you know, I've
- 13:49Speaker 2: talked about this many many times, even when we talk
- 13:51Speaker 2: about books, when the bad guy is the protagonist of
- 13:58Speaker 2: the current story. Yeah, because if you know, anybody who
- 14:02Speaker 2: remembers anything from English class, literacy class is just because
- 14:06Speaker 2: you're a bad guy does not mean that you cannot
- 14:08Speaker 2: be the protagonist. The protagonist is just the quote unquote
- 14:14Speaker 2: hero of the story or the focal point of the story.
- 14:18Speaker 2: The antagonist is the one who fights against the main person. Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So like knowing that Maul is going to be the
- 14:28Speaker 2: protagonist of this story, well I say that, how do
- 14:34Speaker 2: we not know that Azara is not the protagonist of
- 14:38Speaker 2: the story? You know?
- 14:39Speaker 5: And that's what we don't know, right is the way
- 14:42Speaker 5: this has been framed, The way that the trailer is
- 14:47Speaker 5: Like I feel like this one with Devin's trailer is
- 14:51Speaker 5: kind of like a Okay, let's prepare with her story
- 14:56Speaker 5: kind of vian and with all the inquisitors, like we've
- 14:59Speaker 5: got Mo, we've got the crow guy, so like, clearly
- 15:04Speaker 5: we've got Jedi hunters involved, and that's why Devin and
- 15:08Speaker 5: Eco are hiding out. Now, the question is how does
- 15:15Speaker 5: Mal get involved in this? And clearly Mall is the
- 15:17Speaker 5: titular character of the story, so in the end goal,
- 15:22Speaker 5: I feel like Mal is our protagonist in this case.
- 15:30Speaker 5: But I feel like we with the first one, we
- 15:33Speaker 5: got the law enforcement guy does have to do and
- 15:40Speaker 5: so in this one, now we're gonna Devin, and I
- 15:42Speaker 5: feel like that's to keep Mal enthrouded in mystery, because
- 15:47Speaker 5: even though we know Mall's story has a beginning and
- 15:50Speaker 5: mall story has an end, it's this middle part that
- 15:53Speaker 5: is the confusion of where he's at in the grand
- 15:57Speaker 5: scheme of things, and so I feel like is always
- 16:00Speaker 5: going to be surrounded in mystery. And so in that regard,
- 16:07Speaker 5: I don't know how much characterization will get for Mall
- 16:10Speaker 5: in this to keep him because I feel like Lucasfilm
- 16:13Speaker 5: wants to keep him shrouded in the mystery.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Now, one thing that I did want to emphasize for
- 16:21Speaker 2: those who do not know.
- 16:26Speaker 4: This takes place, did we say.
- 16:31Speaker 2: One year yeah, one year after Order sixty six, So
- 16:38Speaker 2: like we are fresh into a lot of different things.
- 16:46Speaker 4: We are not yet, Like.
- 16:50Speaker 2: One year means that we are like in the middle
- 16:54Speaker 2: of Charles Soul's run on Darth Vader, Like think of
- 16:59Speaker 2: it that way when you if you look if you've
- 17:02Speaker 2: read all of Charlestow's run, like think of midway through,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and that's kind of where we're at, which is also
- 17:10Speaker 2: a really fun way to look at things. When you
- 17:12Speaker 2: have other pieces of the timeline set in the same area,
- 17:18Speaker 2: you're like, Okay, this is why we're probably never going
- 17:21Speaker 2: to see Darth Vader in Maul. You know, you can
- 17:25Speaker 2: kind of play it with it like that too. So yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 2: still very very early on in the post sixty six
- 17:35Speaker 2: world or galaxy of course.
- 17:38Speaker 5: So and it makes you think, if we're Rock and Crow,
- 17:43Speaker 5: we're basically sort of already being trained as inquisitors because
- 17:51Speaker 5: of how early they get out. Because if this is
- 17:54Speaker 5: truly one year after.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I was gonna say, if you look back at what
- 18:04Speaker 2: was it a Rise of the is it is it
- 18:06Speaker 2: Rise of the Red Blade?
- 18:09Speaker 4: Yes, if you look at their like.
- 18:14Speaker 2: We kind of know that, like it wasn't hardcore like
- 18:19Speaker 2: training to be inquisitors. Yeah, but seeds were being sown
- 18:24Speaker 2: with certain and that's what people in the Jedi temple.
- 18:29Speaker 5: And that's what I'm wondering is if those seeds were
- 18:32Speaker 5: being sown, but like potentially Morocc or Crow were picked up.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Like how we know that Sidius was trying to because
- 18:40Speaker 5: he stole the list and tried to get the babies
- 18:44Speaker 5: in Clone Wars. So if he was already trying to
- 18:49Speaker 5: get recruits, these could have already been recruited versus pulling
- 18:57Speaker 5: directly from the Jedi order.
- 18:59Speaker 2: That that's true. That's true. I never really considered it
- 19:03Speaker 2: that way, but yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 7: That's what he did with the hands, like he had
- 19:09Speaker 7: multiple hands that he was kind of recruiting, and that's
- 19:13Speaker 7: kind of what the Inquisitive Church kind of took over
- 19:16Speaker 7: in Cannon versus the Emperor's hands.
- 19:22Speaker 2: As Oh, yeah, before we talk about titles, I just
- 19:27Speaker 2: want to remind everybody, because I happened to I forgot
- 19:31Speaker 2: to pick like actually pick it up, and I'm not
- 19:33Speaker 2: entirely sure if I wanted to pick it up or
- 19:35Speaker 2: just wait, of course, until Marvel Unlimited. But the first
- 19:39Speaker 2: issue of the Mall series has already been released. If
- 19:44Speaker 2: anybody wants to pick up a physical copy, they can
- 19:48Speaker 2: it has been released. It's at comic shops right now.
- 19:51Speaker 2: It is written by Benjamin Percy, great author. I think
- 19:56Speaker 2: he does really good with kind of like it is
- 19:59Speaker 2: going to sound a little silly, but edge lord characters.
- 20:02Speaker 2: So uh definitely go check it out. And then this
- 20:07Speaker 2: does debut and of course with episodes titles. We will
- 20:12Speaker 2: talk about that in just two and a half weeks.
- 20:15Speaker 5: So very excited for that because I just finished my
- 20:26Speaker 5: total INCU rewatch, so.
- 20:30Speaker 4: I've been behind on that.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I just finished, uh Loki not too long ago. Well no, no, no, yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 2: Loki the next The next thing is shang Chi that
- 20:40Speaker 2: I need to watch.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Yeah. I decided not to rewatch wonder Man just because
- 20:45Speaker 5: it was literally so fresh.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I think the Oh there was one that I just
- 20:51Speaker 2: said that I wasn't gonna watch and I thought it
- 20:54Speaker 2: was gonna be Ragnarok, but I ended up watching it anyway.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I I need to remember where Loki season two is.
- 21:05Speaker 5: I watched all I watched Loki.
- 21:08Speaker 4: As all the way through.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I just watched it all the way through.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Oh see, I was like, it doesn't make sense to
- 21:15Speaker 2: watch that all the through. I gotta I gotta watch
- 21:17Speaker 2: everything else and then get back to it.
- 21:19Speaker 5: So, but I enjoyed watching it back to back because
- 21:24Speaker 5: even though I know that season two technically takes place,
- 21:27Speaker 5: I think it's after Ant Man Quantum Mania. I want
- 21:31Speaker 5: to say I enjoyed watching it because you get Loki's
- 21:37Speaker 5: continuous perspective.
- 21:39Speaker 4: That's true, so you don't take a break from that.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Well then if.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Oh, I might just go ahead and just jump right into.
- 21:46Speaker 2: It, then I don't know.
- 21:48Speaker 5: That was my opinion.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I'll sit on it. I'll sit on it for a while.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Because they want you to be able to watch all
- 21:53Speaker 5: of these things separately anyways, So.
- 21:58Speaker 2: That's true, all right.
- 22:00Speaker 5: So also, just a random side note, I know the
- 22:04Speaker 5: Marvel guys are gonna talk about this, but I'm not
- 22:06Speaker 5: excited for mutant Spider Man. I was not prepared for
- 22:09Speaker 5: that in the trailer today.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I have feelings about it, but if they are doing
- 22:16Speaker 2: what I think they're doing, I am not going to
- 22:23Speaker 2: complain too much about it. And the reason being, as
- 22:26Speaker 2: a kid, I always told myself Spider Man should be
- 22:32Speaker 2: part of the X Men because it's technically a mutation
- 22:35Speaker 2: of his cells.
- 22:38Speaker 5: But I just have nightmares from the nineties show where
- 22:42Speaker 5: he had.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Like the eight r yeah, exactly, exactly. Well, and then
- 22:46Speaker 2: everybody's biggest fear right now is that, like, oh god,
- 22:49Speaker 2: what if he turns into that in this movie, And
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't think they'll go that far.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I will not, I would walk out. That is still
- 22:59Speaker 5: one of my deadly at n But.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I do remember there is a Hank McCoy beast in
- 23:07Speaker 2: X Men. In the crossover episode of the nineties X
- 23:12Speaker 2: Men and nineties Spider Man, he explains why Peter Parker
- 23:17Speaker 2: is not a mutant. I need to go back and
- 23:19Speaker 2: watch that episode because there's a reason why he's not
- 23:22Speaker 2: technically a mutant, and it may just be because he
- 23:27Speaker 2: wasn't born with the mutation, but either way, I mean, oh,
- 23:30Speaker 2: it's literally mutating, like it's it's it's mutant mutating, whatever,
- 23:35Speaker 2: it's whatever.
- 23:37Speaker 5: That's the other thing. I'm going to go back and
- 23:39Speaker 5: watch X Men ninety five because I watched X Men
- 23:41Speaker 5: ninety seven. Now I'm going to go backwards and finally
- 23:46Speaker 5: watch X Men.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Nice.
- 23:49Speaker 5: Anyways, So mall titles episodes one. Okay, so they're called
- 23:55Speaker 5: chap They have decided they're going.
- 23:57Speaker 2: With chapters chapters this time. Okay, Okay, so Chapter.
- 24:01Speaker 5: One is the Dark Ribbon. Chapter two is called Sinister Schemes,
- 24:08Speaker 5: and both of those come out April sixth. Okay, so
- 24:13Speaker 5: kind of fitting with the Okay, we're picking up after
- 24:16Speaker 5: Revenge of the sixth kind of vibes. I may also
- 24:19Speaker 5: be going back to watch the Mando arc of season
- 24:26Speaker 5: seven of Clone Wars, just to kind of pick up
- 24:29Speaker 5: with his story like where we last had it, and
- 24:32Speaker 5: then kind of dive into this.
- 24:35Speaker 8: Which episodes, uh, the Clone Wars, the season seven arc, Yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 8: the finale, big finale, Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 2: The three the last three episodes. Oh well, it would
- 24:49Speaker 2: be everything except for the last episode, because I don't
- 24:53Speaker 2: think all really is involved in the last episode.
- 24:57Speaker 5: No, but if you watch the first two, you have
- 24:59Speaker 5: to watch the last one.
- 25:01Speaker 2: That's true.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, so that's the first two chapters, not episodes. Sorry.
- 25:10Speaker 5: April thirteenth, we have chapters three and four, which are
- 25:14Speaker 5: entitled Whispers in the Unknown and Pride and Binges.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Chapter five, which comes out April twentieth with Chapter six.
- 25:28Speaker 5: Chapter five is called Inquisition, So bet you we know
- 25:31Speaker 5: who's going to be in that episode, the inquisitors kind
- 25:37Speaker 5: of all the noose.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I wonder if it'll be a recruitment episode though inquisitions.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Oh, that's gonna be interesting, Like you think like Mal
- 25:46Speaker 5: would be recruited.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Not necessarily all I think, Devin.
- 25:52Speaker 5: Ooh interesting, okay.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Uh.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Chapter six is called Night of the Hunted April twenty seventh.
- 26:04Speaker 5: We've got chapter seven, which is called to the Oblivion,
- 26:08Speaker 5: and chapter eight, which is called The Creeping Fear.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And then I like how all of these are very
- 26:15Speaker 2: like ominous.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Yeah, very ominous, very I feel horror vibes the whole
- 26:22Speaker 5: time I'm talking about these. May fourth, of course, Uh,
- 26:26Speaker 5: chapter nine and chapter ten. Chapter nine is called Strange Allies,
- 26:32Speaker 5: So that kind of makes me think, Okay, Devin's gonna
- 26:35Speaker 5: accept that she needs Mal's help or Mall needs her help,
- 26:39Speaker 5: and they're gonna ally and then we kind of are
- 26:43Speaker 5: proceeding forward in the future with finale. Now, I don't
- 26:49Speaker 5: get season two is coming vibes if the final episode
- 26:55Speaker 5: of the season is finale.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Well, and the thing is, I don't know if we
- 27:05Speaker 4: need a season two.
- 27:07Speaker 5: It all depends on how the story goes though, right,
- 27:10Speaker 5: because we've said that before and then gone, Okay, the
- 27:14Speaker 5: way they told the story, I could see a season two.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Oh well, the thing is.
- 27:24Speaker 2: This is, like we said, a year into Order sixty six,
- 27:31Speaker 2: we know that he pops up again at around ten
- 27:39Speaker 2: ten BB why.
- 27:41Speaker 5: That's about when Solo takes place. Yeah, I think is
- 27:44Speaker 5: what people have said.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Ten BB why, which would be how many years after
- 27:53Speaker 2: Order sixty six? Is that that is ten years? Is
- 27:56Speaker 2: it ten battle? Yeah?
- 27:58Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, well Revenge of This it is nineteen bbuy
- 28:03Speaker 5: so nine years?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Nine years? Yeah exactly, Yeah, so nine years. I guess
- 28:13Speaker 2: you could like, I I don't need that much filling.
- 28:19Speaker 2: This is the problem that we've always talked about when
- 28:22Speaker 2: it comes to the timeline of Star Wars is they
- 28:28Speaker 2: want to stay in these little pockets and they're just like, hey,
- 28:32Speaker 2: it's it's like have you ever tried to like you
- 28:37Speaker 2: know this, you have a spice of life, Well, you
- 28:41Speaker 2: have plenty of books behind you. You've done this before,
- 28:44Speaker 2: and you've probably done as a kid when you think
- 28:49Speaker 2: one of your really thin books can still fit on
- 28:51Speaker 2: that shelf and you just try to do it a
- 28:53Speaker 2: little like it is just like it's like.
- 28:56Speaker 5: I'm hiring to rearrange books right now for for like
- 29:00Speaker 5: in my home. And so that's what all of my
- 29:03Speaker 5: Star Wars books are over here, and I had to
- 29:06Speaker 5: fit all of my comics on one shelf over here. Spoilerlate,
- 29:09Speaker 5: that doesn't work.
- 29:10Speaker 4: They didn't.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Well, exactly, no, exactly, And that is what's happening to
- 29:15Speaker 2: the timeline, guys. Star Wars timeline is there's so many books,
- 29:21Speaker 2: there's so many stories, and like like, there's only so
- 29:26Speaker 2: much that you can put in between them.
- 29:28Speaker 5: So here's my question for you. Here's my question for you.
- 29:32Speaker 5: What if, mall shadow Lord, we have three seasons? We
- 29:37Speaker 5: have one or excuse me, we have eighteen bby Okay,
- 29:47Speaker 5: then we have like twelve bby, which is like Crimson
- 29:54Speaker 5: Dawn at its Heights kind of thing.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Okay, I guess we do.
- 30:03Speaker 5: With all and Kira m.
- 30:08Speaker 2: So we have yet correct me if I'm wrong. We
- 30:15Speaker 2: have yet to see Kira in animated.
- 30:21Speaker 5: We we have not seen her in animated form exactly.
- 30:35Speaker 2: We've had plenty of post stories after Solo that even
- 30:41Speaker 2: take place before Solo, by the way, So I think
- 30:49Speaker 2: you could, again, if it means bringing those characters back
- 30:55Speaker 2: for the justice of not being able to make Solo
- 30:58Speaker 2: to happen. I think you should a one hundred percent
- 31:03Speaker 2: think that you should because the one question that everybody
- 31:11Speaker 2: wanted answered at the end of solo two, How the
- 31:16Speaker 2: hell does she know Mall? And why are they working together?
- 31:20Speaker 2: You know?
- 31:22Speaker 5: So it could be that they're going, Okay, we're doing
- 31:25Speaker 5: part one, part two, part three, but part two is
- 31:31Speaker 5: when Crimson Dawn is kind of becoming a big thing.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I can. I can play along with that.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I can play along with that again, because it's the animation.
- 31:43Speaker 2: They're not gonna try to go too crazy.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Now. Name escaping me, Kira.
- 31:55Speaker 5: Kira, No, Amelia Clark.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Yes, Clark. I would hope that she's still on board
- 32:03Speaker 2: and that she would come in if.
- 32:05Speaker 5: You know, if she would come back to voice you
- 32:08Speaker 5: don't think so. I don't know. I don't feel like
- 32:10Speaker 5: that's her vibe.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I mean I I would be okay with of course,
- 32:16Speaker 2: some sort of like uh voice doppel ganger or what
- 32:22Speaker 2: do they call uh, not an AI of course, yes,
- 32:28Speaker 2: not an AI voice, but somebody who can mimic her voice. Yeah,
- 32:33Speaker 2: of course. We did have in I think it was
- 32:41Speaker 2: in uh oh my gosh, my Graine brain.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Katie can't read your brain?
- 32:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, I know.
- 32:51Speaker 2: In Rogue one for Princess Leah, we had her daughter
- 32:56Speaker 2: voice Leah right, or was it I thought it was it.
- 33:02Speaker 5: Was some deep fiction.
- 33:05Speaker 2: All of it was yeah, oh no, yeah, oh then
- 33:11Speaker 2: it was just her daughter who did the remote Rise
- 33:15Speaker 2: of Skywalker stuff. Then yeah, then yeah, I I I
- 33:20Speaker 2: think that Emilia Clark can have a voice mimic uh,
- 33:25Speaker 2: do her lines uh, And I think it would be
- 33:27Speaker 2: perfectly fine, honestly, mm hmm. So but yeah, I I
- 33:33Speaker 2: can see there if if it brings along Kira and
- 33:36Speaker 2: Crimson Dawn. Again, only hardcore fans who have picked up
- 33:43Speaker 2: the novels and the comics would understand those references.
- 33:48Speaker 4: But it literally connects so much story to the Empire
- 33:54Speaker 4: and to the future of the rebellion and like all
- 33:58Speaker 4: these different things. So I think it would be fun.
- 34:01Speaker 4: I think it genuinely would be fun to bring that polite.
- 34:06Speaker 4: So I I didn't even consider Crimson Dawn honestly, So yeah, yeah.
- 34:11Speaker 5: Well because I think that's where this is like getting started,
- 34:14Speaker 5: and so I feel like that would fit, like, Okay,
- 34:17Speaker 5: we're telling three stories here to tell the gaps of
- 34:21Speaker 5: mall basically, and like you could even go four seasons
- 34:28Speaker 5: and go, okay, he's gonna leave to go find Ezra
- 34:34Speaker 5: in Rebels season two, season three, one of those seasons.
- 34:41Speaker 2: So yeah, now question, uh huh, because of course everybody
- 34:49Speaker 2: made the assumption when the trailer dropped.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Do we still.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Think that that Izara could boss possibly be Darth Talent
- 35:09Speaker 2: or no? Is that out the window now?
- 35:14Speaker 5: I don't. I don't see it happening.
- 35:19Speaker 4: I think it's too much of a deep pool. I
- 35:21Speaker 4: think it's I think that is two legends based.
- 35:25Speaker 2: You know, I know that, and we know that Filoni
- 35:31Speaker 2: does like to pull some things from legends, he knows
- 35:35Speaker 2: his lore and things like that. But I think Darth
- 35:38Speaker 2: Talent would be too much because of everything else that
- 35:43Speaker 2: they have done in novels that do take place post
- 35:48Speaker 2: even like freaking Return of the Jedi type stuff, Like,
- 35:53Speaker 2: there's nothing there that really shows that there could have
- 35:59Speaker 2: been a Darth Talent anywhere.
- 36:01Speaker 5: And I feel like, and I always go back to
- 36:06Speaker 5: what Tom said. And I know Tom is not in
- 36:08Speaker 5: the story group, but I always like to go back
- 36:12Speaker 5: to what he says. If you're going to bring in
- 36:15Speaker 5: a legend's character, you want where you're bringing them in
- 36:19Speaker 5: to kind of fit with other parts of their story basically,
- 36:23Speaker 5: so you're not retreading elements that have already been told,
- 36:28Speaker 5: and I feel like where Darth Talent is in the timeframe,
- 36:31Speaker 5: it doesn't make sense to bring her in in this point.
- 36:35Speaker 5: So I would hope that the story group accepts that
- 36:39Speaker 5: same because Tom may have gotten that from the story group.
- 36:43Speaker 5: It's like, Oh, we don't want to bring in characters
- 36:46Speaker 5: where we're retreading their story basically.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so very true.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, well, I think that is it for
- 37:00Speaker 4: the mall talk. Yeah, and we'll go straight into.
- 37:07Speaker 2: The book of Boba fet Now, Katie, this was, of
- 37:14Speaker 2: course a show that we did review. When it did
- 37:17Speaker 2: come out.
- 37:20Speaker 6: There was.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Dare I say, laughable reviews of this show throughout all
- 37:29Speaker 2: of the Internet.
- 37:30Speaker 5: I feel like it was a better review that we remember.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Though I think it was there was still a lot
- 37:39Speaker 2: of people that talked a lot of crap about it,
- 37:42Speaker 2: and for the most part, I think the main reason was, yes,
- 37:47Speaker 2: there was some cringey moments, but it was the last
- 37:52Speaker 2: three episodes. The last three episodes, I think we're a
- 37:59Speaker 2: big fact in the negativity towards this show. But I'm
- 38:05Speaker 2: gonna say something that I'm pretty sure I said when
- 38:08Speaker 2: we reviewed this show way back when, and I still
- 38:14Speaker 2: believe even when you are watching episode one. If you
- 38:19Speaker 2: watch this entire show, it fails to get a true
- 38:27Speaker 2: grasp at what it wants to be.
- 38:32Speaker 5: And I think that's not the fault of Robert Rodriquez.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I think that is a fault of Lucasfilm. Yes, in going, hey,
- 38:42Speaker 5: we're gonna let you tell Boba Fette's story, but you're
- 38:47Speaker 5: also going to include these Mandalorian episodes.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yes, but I also think, personally, after watching it again,
- 38:59Speaker 2: I would have been totally fine if this was just
- 39:04Speaker 2: seven episodes of Boba getting out of the Starlac pit
- 39:11Speaker 2: and getting to the point of where he finally is
- 39:15Speaker 2: when you first see him in Mando season two, no
- 39:20Speaker 2: present day stuff, all flashback. I think this show literally
- 39:26Speaker 2: could have been three different things. It could have been
- 39:29Speaker 2: Boba Fet flashbacks. It could have been Boba Fet only modern,
- 39:35Speaker 2: or it could genuinely just throw a book of Boba
- 39:37Speaker 2: Fet out the window and just be the Mandalorian the
- 39:40Speaker 2: way that the ending of this season wanted it to.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Be, because we always one of the things we talked
- 39:47Speaker 5: about was, Okay, the Mandalorian is not one specific thing,
- 39:51Speaker 5: and you could have said, this is the Mandalorian colon
- 39:57Speaker 5: book of Boba fet Yes, yeah, and then you could
- 40:00Speaker 5: have changed the titles on the other seasons to go
- 40:04Speaker 5: The Mandalorian, Dan Jarrant season two, The Mandalorian, and Growth, Like, yeah,
- 40:10Speaker 5: whatever kind of vibes it because you get into this
- 40:14Speaker 5: rhythm of telling a story and it's just like, I
- 40:20Speaker 5: so completely honest my rewatch of this. I thoroughly enjoyed.
- 40:26Speaker 5: I had a ball watching this. I had an absolute blast.
- 40:31Speaker 5: I love I love what Robert Redriguez brings to the screen.
- 40:36Speaker 5: I think a lot of what he does it just
- 40:40Speaker 5: makes me laugh. I grew up on Spy Kids and
- 40:43Speaker 5: Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Like you're never gonna tell
- 40:47Speaker 5: me that those movies are horrible because they reminded me
- 40:50Speaker 5: of my childhood, and I think in this case, Robert
- 40:56Speaker 5: Rodriguez is doing what Robert Rodriguez does best. He brings
- 40:59Speaker 5: in different vibes and brings you splashes of color that
- 41:03Speaker 5: make things memorable. And like the Mod Gang, I love
- 41:08Speaker 5: their little bikes. They're super colorful, like those were so
- 41:12Speaker 5: hated on when this first dropped on.
- 41:14Speaker 2: The Mighty Morphine uh uh Mossley Rangers. Yeah, yeah, I
- 41:22Speaker 2: loved it.
- 41:23Speaker 5: So what they want to be brightly colored. They want
- 41:26Speaker 5: to have brightly colored bikes.
- 41:28Speaker 2: The problem that I had with the that whole sequence
- 41:34Speaker 2: is I genuinely believe that they just took the wrong
- 41:43Speaker 2: camera angles for the chase. It made it look awkward.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Now I think the problem itself is Mossiley. It's a
- 41:55Speaker 2: very compact town. It was very awkward in.
- 42:01Speaker 5: How outside of the volume. Let's be real, yes.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Yes, because again, guys, one of the most gorgeous episodes
- 42:12Speaker 2: of this season is episode six, Episode seven, which one
- 42:20Speaker 2: is the uh the one where he where he gets
- 42:25Speaker 2: the Naboo Starfighters Episode five.
- 42:29Speaker 5: By Bryce Dallas Howard.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Yes, Bryce Dallas Howard knows how to film flight and
- 42:38Speaker 2: chase scenes.
- 42:39Speaker 4: It's just so good.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I would have been very interested to see how she
- 42:50Speaker 2: would have done the the the gang you know, chase scene,
- 42:58Speaker 2: but we didn't get that. We got what we got.
- 43:01Speaker 2: It is what it is, because I can still see
- 43:05Speaker 2: it literally so vividly in my mind. We have what's
- 43:09Speaker 2: her name in the red speeder drift to a stop,
- 43:14Speaker 2: and then we get that so awkward volume cgi Boba
- 43:19Speaker 2: fet just coming in out of nowhere and questions the
- 43:26Speaker 2: dimo right, and it just really it looked awkward to me,
- 43:31Speaker 2: even on the second run, And I agree with you,
- 43:35Speaker 2: this second rewatch was more enjoyable because I already know, Hey,
- 43:40Speaker 2: there's gonna be parts of this season that I don't
- 43:43Speaker 2: agree with. I already have this idea of like, hey,
- 43:47Speaker 2: this season, this whole book of Boba Fett could be
- 43:51Speaker 2: separated into three different types of shows. Like, I already
- 43:55Speaker 2: have that opinion, But let me just enjoy it for
- 43:58Speaker 2: what it is. I enjoyed every single moment. I still
- 44:02Speaker 2: laughed at the like a bantha, you know, uh speeder thing.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I still really enjoyed the idea of him becoming like
- 44:17Speaker 2: one with the.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Raiders and all of that, Like I really really do.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I enjoyed all of that.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Again, the only.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Critique that I have is the fact that Lucasfilm got
- 44:32Speaker 2: in its own way and didn't really think this side
- 44:41Speaker 2: mission of a season through m that's it.
- 44:50Speaker 5: Yeah, And don't get me wrong, like I love I
- 44:56Speaker 5: think if you had said, oh, hey, we we cut
- 45:02Speaker 5: season or we cut episode five completely because that's all
- 45:06Speaker 5: Mandalorian based.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 45:09Speaker 5: I think if you had handed me the other six episodes,
- 45:16Speaker 5: this would be an amazing show.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Actually, I think it would be an even better show
- 45:22Speaker 2: because if you open up episode five, which was of
- 45:28Speaker 2: course supposed to like if in your scenario, if you
- 45:30Speaker 2: take out episode five, then episode six becomes episode five,
- 45:35Speaker 2: and then episode seven becomes episode six, so it's only
- 45:38Speaker 2: a six episode season. You open up episode five with
- 45:44Speaker 2: den Jarren off of that train m hm, and you're like, wait,
- 45:49Speaker 2: what is he doing here? Right? You still get the
- 45:52Speaker 2: feeling of what you got in episode five, which is
- 45:57Speaker 2: in the Butcher, you see the silhouette of Mando comes through,
- 46:00Speaker 2: you know, is a total badass.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and here.
- 46:06Speaker 2: In this new episode five you would see den Jarren.
- 46:09Speaker 2: You see that he's on tattooine and then boom like,
- 46:14Speaker 2: well yeah, because it was also an episode five that
- 46:21Speaker 2: he went to go see Grogu Grogu, that's right. Yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 2: so in episode in this new episode five you only
- 46:30Speaker 2: see tattooine.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Yeah, you can cut. I feel like you can cut
- 46:35Speaker 5: episode five and episode six together if you wanted to,
- 46:40Speaker 5: with like the Naboo Starfighter, but you really don't have to.
- 46:44Speaker 5: I think this becomes a great show that being sad.
- 46:49Speaker 5: Episode five and episode six.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Are badass, and I love, I genuinely appreciate pellingmotos so
- 46:59Speaker 3: much more with these two episodes, and.
- 47:05Speaker 5: Like the episodes is just super cool. That's all I
- 47:10Speaker 5: can say about it really.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I for one, I do appreciate the fact that we,
- 47:15Speaker 2: uh we do see a b D unit in this
- 47:19Speaker 2: in this episode episode five or I think it's an
- 47:22Speaker 2: episode six. Yeah, episode six, episode five, episode five, he
- 47:30Speaker 2: is building the Naboo star Fighter and yeah, it is badass.
- 47:35Speaker 2: And I don't know if I said this specifically when
- 47:38Speaker 2: we first reviewed it. I need Bryce Dallas Howard, especially
- 47:45Speaker 2: now that we are getting a Racer Star Wars Racer
- 47:51Speaker 2: video game. I need Bryce Dallas Howard to film an
- 47:57Speaker 2: entire feature film on the big screen of pod racing. Yeah,
- 48:05Speaker 2: I need either some sort of like Starfighter or pod Racer. Like, guys,
- 48:13Speaker 2: give me co director, like for the for the effect
- 48:16Speaker 2: of the experience. You know, I'm gonna I'm gonna bring
- 48:19Speaker 2: this one back from the dead Rogue Squadron, Uh, what's
- 48:25Speaker 2: her name? Patty Jenkins co director Patty Jenkins and Bryce
- 48:31Speaker 2: Dallas Howard.
- 48:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I could dig it.
- 48:35Speaker 4: I would dig that. I would totally dig that.
- 48:39Speaker 2: That would be so much fun.
- 48:41Speaker 5: Yeah for sure. Uh, Like Bryce Dylis Howard just does
- 48:45Speaker 5: an incredible job with what she has had with the
- 48:50Speaker 5: Star Wars franchise. And you gotta like the lord that
- 48:55Speaker 5: is talked about in episode five regardless, like I think
- 49:00Speaker 5: we've talked at nauseum about Okay, these episodes shouldn't be here,
- 49:04Speaker 5: but like talking about the context of what we do get.
- 49:08Speaker 5: I love the lore that comes out of episodes five
- 49:13Speaker 5: and six, between the Dark Saber lore that the armor
- 49:18Speaker 5: is spinning out, but then also the lore that comes
- 49:20Speaker 5: up with Skywalker training Grogu and that Order sixty six
- 49:26Speaker 5: flashback that we get that then gets expanded upon in
- 49:29Speaker 5: season three of The Mantalorian. There's just a lot of
- 49:32Speaker 5: good material here for the franchise as a whole and
- 49:38Speaker 5: what they were trying to expand. Yeah, deep fake, Luke
- 49:43Speaker 5: still not a fan.
- 49:47Speaker 2: I was literally looking to see. One thing that I
- 49:54Speaker 2: had a problem with more than.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Deep fake facial feature.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Was no the unsynced mouth to vocals.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you did say that.
- 50:14Speaker 2: So one thing that really really bothered me, And of
- 50:18Speaker 2: course I would say it freaking how many years ago
- 50:22Speaker 2: when we reviewed this, it became very very noticeable after
- 50:29Speaker 2: like the third sentence that he spoke, it is it
- 50:34Speaker 2: is like you were seeing him on lag, like his
- 50:38Speaker 2: his video, his face was not rendering to his voice,
- 50:45Speaker 2: and like one of the last sentences that he speaks
- 50:48Speaker 2: in the entire thing, prior to talking to Grogu, he's
- 50:53Speaker 2: talking to Ahsoka and he's like, will I ever see
- 50:57Speaker 2: you again? And like the way he moved his head
- 51:01Speaker 2: his mouth moves at the same time, it was like
- 51:04Speaker 2: a computer that could not compute. It was just like
- 51:07Speaker 2: all just very very weird.
- 51:10Speaker 5: I again forgot to pay attention to it, so I'll
- 51:14Speaker 5: have again.
- 51:15Speaker 4: It's it's it's a.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Thing for me like now that I like we know, like, hey,
- 51:22Speaker 2: this is what they did to create this younger Luke Skywalker.
- 51:27Speaker 4: We know that they use deep Bake.
- 51:29Speaker 2: We know that they use a uh basically a auto
- 51:37Speaker 2: tuned AI editor on Mark Hamill's voice. Mark Hamill stood
- 51:43Speaker 2: there for the lines, but it was heavily edited with
- 51:50Speaker 2: with not an actual editor. Like that's the problem for me,
- 51:53Speaker 2: is like you could have paid somebody to do so
- 51:56Speaker 2: much better work than this, yeah, and instead you did
- 52:00Speaker 2: the lazy way out, which was a really big problem
- 52:03Speaker 2: for me. And it was noticeable when I was looking
- 52:09Speaker 2: for it because most of the time, again when even
- 52:14Speaker 2: without deep fakes, when you see a heavily like action
- 52:22Speaker 2: pack scene, if you look hard enough, you could see
- 52:27Speaker 2: the stunt doubles instead of the actual actors. And that's
- 52:30Speaker 2: that's in every film out there. In this one, because
- 52:35Speaker 2: they were relying so much on deep fake, young Luke
- 52:39Speaker 2: Skywalker when he was doing like the flips and the
- 52:42Speaker 2: running and the and the hopping from stone to stone
- 52:44Speaker 2: and things.
- 52:45Speaker 4: Like that, there was this weird grayish blue hue.
- 52:52Speaker 2: On the sides of Luke Skywalker's face and it's because
- 52:57Speaker 2: of that blue screen and dealing with the with the
- 53:02Speaker 2: deep fake altogether. It was it was It was noticeable
- 53:05Speaker 2: for sure.
- 53:06Speaker 5: Yeah, that part I did notice, But again that stuff
- 53:09Speaker 5: doesn't really bug me at the end of the day.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Everybody's got their own preferences. At least for me, the
- 53:19Speaker 5: eyes bugged me, Like we just talked about with season two,
- 53:22Speaker 5: the eyes. They definitely did a better job this go
- 53:26Speaker 5: round with it. So I think the only other broad
- 53:34Speaker 5: thing about the show that we haven't talked about so
- 53:39Speaker 5: far is the music. Ludwig Gordonsen did do the theme
- 53:47Speaker 5: music for the show, but the overall composer was Joseph Shirley,
- 53:54Speaker 5: and I do think that you can kind of tell
- 53:58Speaker 5: mm hmmm, as much as I don't want to say
- 54:02Speaker 5: that you can't tell that there's a difference.
- 54:10Speaker 4: The again, like the one.
- 54:13Speaker 2: When it came to the music, I did notice the
- 54:17Speaker 2: the difference between going into season two of Mando to
- 54:22Speaker 2: book a Boa Fet Here, Like there was tonal changes
- 54:26Speaker 2: that I liked, don't get me wrong, like when when
- 54:30Speaker 2: we were looking at flashback Boba and like getting into
- 54:34Speaker 2: his like final rise to being an individual with the
- 54:40Speaker 2: Tusken Raiders. Like I liked all of that. I think
- 54:43Speaker 2: the music cues were good. It was different. But again
- 54:50Speaker 2: with the even with the music cues, I did not
- 54:54Speaker 2: like them ending the whole book of Boba Fett with
- 54:59Speaker 2: the Mandalorian grow Goo theme, because like you see Manda,
- 55:05Speaker 2: you see Boba Fet, you see Uh Chris Satin and
- 55:12Speaker 2: the the gang and all of them, and they're talking
- 55:15Speaker 2: about how should he still be the Diamo of Moss
- 55:20Speaker 2: and all of that, right, and they make their little
- 55:22Speaker 2: joke and then the camera goes all the way up
- 55:25Speaker 2: into space and then you hear, crystal clear, very loud,
- 55:30Speaker 2: the Mando theme. I'm like, you couldn't even leave his
- 55:35Speaker 2: own show to end with him. You know, regardless of
- 55:40Speaker 2: if you did show that moment with Mando, you could
- 55:44Speaker 2: have like just swap the two different yeah scenes, do
- 55:49Speaker 2: Mando first and then go into mass is Lee with
- 55:53Speaker 2: the with Boba fet. But I I I do agree
- 55:59Speaker 2: that there was like I think it was the episode
- 56:05Speaker 2: where they like stormed of course, what is Jaba's Palace? Like, Yeah,
- 56:12Speaker 2: I didn't like the music cue there. Of course they
- 56:17Speaker 2: did make it a little silly with a little droid
- 56:19Speaker 2: running under the table with like the flames and all
- 56:21Speaker 2: of that and stuff like they wanted to fit the scenario.
- 56:25Speaker 2: But I'm just like, I feel like there could have
- 56:27Speaker 2: been something a little more here, especially with the music.
- 56:31Speaker 5: And I think it just goes to show how popular
- 56:36Speaker 5: Ludwig got because he didn't even return to do season
- 56:39Speaker 5: three of The Mandalorian. Now he is doing the movie.
- 56:43Speaker 5: But the man is popular and it's for a good reason.
- 56:46Speaker 5: I mean, the dude just won an Oscar.
- 56:48Speaker 9: Yeah, any individual episode that you want to talk about.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Um, I don't think so, because again I think overall, well, okay,
- 57:15Speaker 2: so a singular thought, and I think Dave Filoni may
- 57:22Speaker 2: have commented on it in the past, but I have
- 57:27Speaker 2: to talk about it here. Is there any possibility that
- 57:40Speaker 2: uh freaking oh my gosh, I am just freaking dropping
- 57:45Speaker 2: the ball on names bloom mother effort that Boba Fette
- 57:55Speaker 2: kills at the very end, Bane Jesus Christ, Yes, Bain.
- 58:03Speaker 4: Is there any possibility.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Of him being alive?
- 58:09Speaker 4: Nope, I'm gonna say.
- 58:10Speaker 5: No, Let the motherfucker be dead.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Yes, no, no, no, don't get me wrong. Like I I again,
- 58:17Speaker 2: I think the same scenario takes place across all freaking
- 58:25Speaker 2: media and storytelling as long as you don't see a
- 58:28Speaker 2: body whatever. But the way the camera just panned on
- 58:33Speaker 2: Bain after his death and his hat, I'm just like,
- 58:40Speaker 2: don't don't do this, Like, don't purposely show us a
- 58:45Speaker 2: dead body just to like show us that, like, actually
- 58:51Speaker 2: he didn't get stabbed in his third heart, you know
- 58:57Speaker 2: whatever it may be. So like, and then of course
- 59:01Speaker 2: you do have uh freaking the dude that Bain shot
- 59:09Speaker 2: up at the beginning of the episode, Yeah, at the
- 59:14Speaker 2: very end, that we still have not dealt with at all.
- 59:17Speaker 2: We see him at the end of this season as
- 59:20Speaker 2: the post credit.
- 59:22Speaker 7: In the uh with the mod dude in the background.
- 59:28Speaker 2: And nothing like like, when when do you think the
- 59:33Speaker 2: next time we will see him? Is he gonna get
- 59:37Speaker 2: his own show?
- 59:39Speaker 5: I don't think he will get his own show.
- 59:42Speaker 2: But do you think he'll be I was gonna say,
- 59:45Speaker 2: you think he'll make a cameo in the movie.
- 59:47Speaker 5: I feel like we could have a movie cameo.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Because we'll assumingly we're gonna be on tattooing again. Yeah,
- 59:55Speaker 2: at least once in the movie.
- 59:57Speaker 5: Well, because I figure that's why he gets a razor
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: crest is because he has to go see Pelly, like
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: Pelly finds a razorcrest for him. That's the only thing
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: that makes sense. I feel like, yeah, as to how
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: he gets another razorcrest, because we know he's flying a
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: razor crest in the movie, so I need an explanation
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: as to why he's flying a razorcrest.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: It's all retconned.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: It wasn't destroyed.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: But if that's the case, they think of these things
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: in advance.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: If that's the case, they are wreck conning episode five
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: of book and I say no, no, no, wret conning
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: anything that Bryce Dallis Howard has ever filmed.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Correct, Yes, but you should not be allowed to wreck
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: coon things from this like from this decade.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: In my opinion, yes, I believe that to be true.
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: It's one thing if you don't think of it, like
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: the Force Awakens, like if you didn't think of something then.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: But now you're like, ooh, what about this. That's a
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: little different. But you need to give it some time
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: before you do you throw things out the window.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Oh god, you said decade. I completely forgot. Force Awakens
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: is now ten years old. Oh my god, Oh my god, Katie,
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: what have you done?
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: Oh my well one is now ten years old, because
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: that's why we're getting the comic like the special comics,
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: because Force Awakens is now ten and a half years old.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: My god, that's.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Dude. Let me show you this picture of Marara and
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: this can be.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: On the internet.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: That's fine.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Hang on, wait, that's insane.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: This girl she has three gro Gu shirts because a
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: neighbor gave us some Star Wars shirts and they had
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: two gro Goo shirts in there. She went through all
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: three gro Goo shirts this morning and was like not
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: gro Goo. And I was like, okay, what about this one.
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: When we cycled through because obviously it's Star Wars Day,
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: so we were all wearing Star Wars shirts. She put
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: on all three Grogroo shirts before finally deciding on the
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: last one, and I was like, would you like a
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: regular Star Wars shirt? She's like, no, gro.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Goo was also the fact that she calls Yoda yoyo
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: is absolutely amazing. By the way I made that video
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: allowed for Abby to watch as well and listen to,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: absolutely amazing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: I was tagging when she was doing that because she
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: was like gro Goo Grogu. I was like, no, that's
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: a different species, or that's a different person of the
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: same species. And his name is Yoda and we just
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: got yo Yo and like we've been like practiced. Have
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: you seen like the leap Frog movies on YouTube? Yeah,
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: and so we've been doing like the first one, which
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: is like the AA says and like going through that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: And so she was struggling with the why and I
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: was like, no, you remember Yoda? She said yo Yo.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, there we go tell yo why? Yeah,
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: like yo Yo.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: I will say again I am I'm gonna be the
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: proud parent to say this. The fact that Amberlin and
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: God bless you, miss Rachel. If I ever see you,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: I am gonna give you the biggest freaking hug and
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: high five ever in existence for a parent. There was
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: just one day that I, like last year, that I
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: was just reading to Amberlin and I literally started yawning,
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: and she picked up up where I had left off
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: and just read and I would like, I literally just
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: like was frozen. And I was like, how the hell
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: do you know how to read it two years old?
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: And everybody's like, oh, well, you've probably read that story
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: over and over again. It's like, yes, but the pronunciation,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: the actual recognition of letters to words like that, you
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: cannot replicate that, you cannot mimic. So uh, it's it's
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: it's absolutely amazing. So I think that this generation of
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: kids learning so quickly is really really cool.
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: But yeah, guys, that is it. We have reviews.
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: Gonna be a short episode.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: I know, for real. We have reviewed the book of
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: Bob Effect.
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: Next week, hyper Space Stories grievous.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: That's right, hyper Space Story is grievous.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Uh. And then guys, we are so close to mal
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: for a whole month. We'll be talking about Maul after that. Yes.
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: So the first week of April, guys, we were finishing
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: off our review of Legacy of Vader because the last
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: volume comes out on I think it's the thirty first,
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: I want to say, which is actually going to suck
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: because my favorite author is releasing a book on the
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: thirty first, and so I'm going to have to prioritize
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: the comic read and my favorite author. Really so, but then,
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: like Clay said, we were talking Mulshadow Lord all April long,
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: but also the books that Clay and I have been procrastinating.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: We're also talking Star by Star by Troy Dinning over
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: on our Patreon, which if you know what happens in
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: this book, don't spoil it for Clay because Clay is
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: even more behind than I am, and at least I
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: know what happens.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm still on chapter ten and I need to
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: be reading forty three chapters in like two weeks.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: So no, because we're reviewing it Sunday.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, in less than a week. Oh right, so
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: a lot of reading in my future, so that'll be good.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: But yeah, guys, that.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: Will be it.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Of course, you can always find me at Fanboy Clay
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: on Basically, Instagram is kind of where I've just been

- 1:06:53Speaker 2: personally ask if you could go follow Volume Comics. There's
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: a lot of moving parts happening right now. And I'm
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: also gonna say this. I'm gonna say this next week too.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I'm going to Chicago for c T E two Chicago

- 1:07:49Speaker 5: give us some way to reference you on the show.
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: We love getting questions from you guys. I know we haven't,
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: we haven't had any a long time. But if you
