- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Hey my friend, welcome to this episode of the Daily Writer Podcast.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: This is part of an overall series we're doing called The Writer's Path: Seven Steps to Building a Writing Business.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: We're into the home stretch of these last couple of episodes here.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: But if you're new to this series, go back to the June 27th episode and listen from the beginning of this series, I think you'll get a lot of value out of it.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Well, we've spent the last couple of weeks talking about several milestones in the writer's path.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And I want to emphasize again that these are not necessarily sequential in the sense that you got to get this one perfect before you move on to the next one.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: It's not really that kind of a thing.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Rather, these are all just pieces of a larger puzzle of a writing business.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And you will continually refine each of these as you go along.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Again, I don't think it's a matter of, okay, I've got this one set and now I've got to move on to this one.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It's not really that kind of a thing because we're constantly refining and changing and rethinking our business, especially in today's world and in today's business environment where things are always in flux.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Now, today I want to share three primary benefits of approaching your writing business in the way that I've suggested using what we're calling the writer's path.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: First of all, there is less stress because you know exactly where you are and what you need to do next.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: A lot of writers get paralyzed because they get distracted by people who are doing all kinds of successful things, but the writer's path gives you clarity about what you need to be focusing on right here and right now.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Second of all, you have clear goals for your business instead of feeling like you have to do everything all at once.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And this is critical because it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the things that you think you should be doing instead of focusing on the very next thing that's in front of you.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And then third, you're gonna have less tendency to compare yourself because you can see where other people's successes come from following this sort of framework instead of just having blind luck or more talent.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: You know, when you see somebody who has a successful writing business, chances are pretty high that they have all these components within their business.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: So you can kind of reverse engineer that and you can look at your own business and say, you know what?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I don't have to feel bad about that person being successful.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I don't have to be jealous.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: I don't have to feel bad about my own, you know, where I am right now, because I haven't yet put these steps into place in my own business.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So I think seeing a clear pathway let out before you uh really helps you to see the things that you're missing and how you can build your business to the level uh eventually that other people, that other, that other successful writers have built there.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: So I think that's a really key component of all this.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to emphasize that I truly believe in what I'm sharing about the writer's path.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I believe that if you put these principles into practice, they will absolutely transform your writing business and they will give you a clear pathway forward.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow we're going to talk about a few examples of people who have used this same sort of framework to build their writing business, and that's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Here's today's question that I want to wrap up with What would it feel like to have less stress and more clarity as you build your writing business?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: What would it feel like to use something like the writer's path to give you more clarity and success instead of more stress and frustration?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Something to think about for sure.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: All right, my friend, thanks for listening, and I'll see you tomorrow.
